Leigh Bush- "Series 3187"

Just in time for his 28th birthday (March 1), Leigh Bush released a four-track project entitled “Series 3187.”

I like It, I love It – “It’s a very sensual record. We’re in a era where we can be direct and bold, and I appreciate the bluntness of the record. It’s definitely in your face.”

Put It Down – “I’ve always had an appreciation for records that showcase passion and vulnerability. Reminiscent of the classic R.Kelly and the early “The Dream” reign. It’s necessary.”

Got Damn – “It’s my personal favorite. I’ve been conflicted with what I want and what my lover wants. Timing is everything and I feel like it’s so honest and transparent that the consumers can’t help but respect it. Career vs. love sometimes causes an unexplainable disconnect. Closure isn’t always found yet the effort must be initiated.”

Too Late – “As men we feel as though we have a lifetime to fulfill the needs and desires of a woman. Failing to realize that every woman has a breaking point. There’s a such thing as “Too Late.” And once too much time has passed it becomes difficult to reconcile the hurt and pain I once caused.”

Ashanti, Lisa Leslie & Fonzworth Bentley Attend #DontStealPossible Education Rally (PHOTO/VIDEO)

Grammy Award winner Ashanti, WNBA Star/Olympic Gold Medalist Lisa Leslie, and media personality Fonzworth Bentley joined 13,000 parents, students, and teachers at the Don’t Steal Possible rally in Albany, New York.

“I was proud to stand with thousands of New Yorkers,” stated WNBA Star and Parent Choice Advocate Lisa Leslie. “This is a crisis that plays out in cities across the country every day, and it has to end now.”

The crowd assembled at the New York State Capitol on Wednesday to bring awareness to the state’s education crisis. Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul, Senate Conference Leaders Dean Skelos and Jeff Klein, and other elected officials called for urgent change to ensure no child in New York is forced to attend a failing school.

More than 800,000 statewide children in grades 3-8 failed proficiency exams last year. Six out of ten schools in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Yonkers are failing nearly all of their students. 90% or more of students cannot read or do math at grade level.

“New Yorkers deserve to have the option of sending their child to a high-quality school. It doesn’t matter if they’re district or charter. All excellent schools should be treated equally,” adds Assemblyman Marcos Crespo.

The Don’t Steal Possible campaign launched last October with The Roots drummer Questlove and 21,000 parents in New York City’s Foley Square. By early January the campaign collected more than 85,000 signatures for an online petition to end the crisis.

Charles Hamilton Talks How Being Bipolar And Suicidal Has Affected His Career

Charles Hamilton’s career has had more downs than ups but now he is looking for a fresh start.

In an interview with Billboard, Hamilton reflected on his career, which has been plagued with more trouble than success. When he was buzzing as an upcoming rapper out of Harlem he should have been ecstatic, but he had hit an all-time low due to suffering symptoms of his un-diagnosed bipolar disorder.

“I just didn’t trust anybody,” the “Brooklyn Girls” rapper told Billboard. “I was fighting depression — I shut myself in. I didn’t leave my house– I just made music all the time.”

He then experienced his share of embarrassment on social media. Videos of him being punched by his then-girlfriend and losing rap battles had surfaced. Plus, he had dedicated a blog and mixtape to Rihanna, whom he was seemingly obsessed with at the time. Then he found out he was dropped by Interscope Records from his then girlfriend, who found out on the internet, and he cut himself off from the world.

“I wanted to commit career suicide, physical suicide, spiritual suicide — I didn’t care anymore,” he said.  “I locked myself in my house with the lights out and a turntable turning with no record on it. I was depressed, paranoid and confused.”

His life went on a downward spiral after he was arrested for punching a police officer and had stints in different psychiatric facilities. Hamilton was also homeless, living in an abandoned building in Staten Island threatening suicide to those who would listen.

But now, the 27-year-old’s life is on the right track. He has been signed to Republic Records and has been teaming up with producers the Invisible Men, who worked on Iggy Azalea’s mega-hit “Fancy.”Hamilton is currently adhering to a medication schedule and has an album due out later this year.

He also scored an appearance on FOX’s#### series Empire and will appear on the Mar. 18th episode to perform his new track “New York Raining” with Rita Ora.

TMZ has reported that he talked about killing himself if Bobbi Kristina didn’t survive. She remains in a medically induced coma.

During the taping, Michelle Gordon also revealed that her son found Whitney Houston in her hotel room on 2012 the night she died and tried to save her.

“As we sit here right now, my son’s life hangs in the balance,” she told Dr. Phil. “When Whitney was found, he administered CPR to her and called me as he was standing in front of her saying, ‘Mom, why couldn’t I do it? I couldn’t get air into her lungs.’ He won’t let go of the guilt.”

The-Dream Says He Has A New Track With Kanye West (VIDEO)

During a visit to ESPN’s Highly Questionable The-Dream dropped a gem. He has a new song with Kanye West. After revealing that Ye’ is the craziest person that he has worked with he said that the two have a new track in the vault.

“I can’t say the exact name of it because we never know titles until Kanye actually lets us know what the title is, which is like eight years from now,” Dream said jokingly.

The self-proclaimed “Radio Killa” said that Yeezy likes to stand on top of various objects through out the studio when he’s excited about a new tune and that “he definitely almost fell off something, but we were there to corral him in the end” while recording this new track, which means it’s a banger.

He didn’t confirm if the song would be on Kanye’s upcoming album, So Help Me God.

Watch the clip below to hear Dream talk about whether his music is on his bedroom playlist and his feelings about Lil’ Wayne, who has child with the same woman as him and is currently dating his ex-wife Christina Milian.

In Not Afraid: The Shady Records Story, Em and Rosenberg reflect on how their partnership started and Eminem’s humble beginnings as a local emcee in Detroit. The story also depicts the expansion of Shady’s roster when they added 50 Cent and Obie Trice and then Slaughterhouse and Yelawolf years later. There is also commentary from Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

Was Chris Brown's Baby Mama Married During Their Affair?

Photo: Getty/ TMZ.com Composite

The Chis Brown love child (with Nia Guzman-Amey) scandal deepens. This messy affair ended Breezy’s relationship with Karrueche, and it also ended the “model’s” marraige. Guzman-Amey’s husband Terry Amey is speaking out saying he wants to meet Brown in person. Allegedly he wants to meet with Brown “for the sake of their children. Amey told Bossip, “We’ve got to push forward so that my little girl and his little girl can grow.” Guzman-Amey obviously was still married when she had the affair with Brown. Brown has yet to comment on the paternity allegations. That’s so not like Chris to not have a social media outburst especially about his personal biz. Maybe the singer has grown up (a little late).

Freeway Rick Ross' Drug War Documentary "Crack In The System" To Air On Al Jazeera America

(AllHipHop News) The compelling story of crack dealer-turned-motivational speaker Freeway Rick Ross has been turned into a documentary. Freeway: Crack In The System is set to air on Sunday, March 8 at 9 pm on Al Jazeera America.

Award-winning filmmaker Marc Levin (SLAM, Mr. Untouchable) explores how the crack cocaine epidemic destroyed neighborhoods throughout America. The film centers around 1980’s drug kingpin Freeway Ross and Gary Webb, the journalist that broke the story of the CIA’s alleged involvement in trafficking illegal drugs into the United States.

“The genesis of this film was personal. As a child of the sixties I have long been fascinated by stories of the U.S. intelligence community’s connection to drugs and drug traffickers,” states Levin. “I was at the Iran Contra Hearings, producing for Bill Moyers on ‘The Secret Government’ and sitting only feet away from Ollie North. That’s when I first heard the accusation that the CIA stood for ‘Crack In America.'”

Coral Baca, Webb’s source for his “Dark Alliance” drug war exposé, as well as Webb’s wife Susan appear in the film. Other interviews include former Los Angeles Deputy Sheriff Robert Juarez, drug trafficker Julio Zavala, and of course Freeway Ross. The final interview with Webb before his death is also part of Crack In The System.
