Treach has a lot to get off his chest. The Brick City born boss typically doesn’t hold back, but it seems like he’s been biting his tongue for a long time on his issues with Vinnie, his friend and rap partner in Naughy By Nature. According to Treach, things have been “real f**kin’ shady” for a minute. Beef has been elusive for the crew hailing from East Orange, NJ, and they have all shared three equal parts (Vinnie/Treach/Kay Gee) of the brand during their 22 year professional career. Now, there is a huge gust of change. Treach speaks.
When you have like…you see the groups.. we never wanted to be the group that goes though anything that we can’t resolve on our own or anything else. Nobody – me being Treach, Kay (DJ/producer Kay Gee) and Vin being Vin – is larger than the group. We came on some ego free sh*t. Now, when somebody comes and gets larger than the group, its gonna be a problem. Now, we have certain members of the group – Kay Gee, Vin, Treach. Kay Gee – as far as the producing force behind Naughty By Nature – always put in. Treach – the writing force of Naughty By Nature – always put in. Like when you are a member of a clan that gives you a pass for life as far as…never wrote no records, [produce] no hits…n***a, [Vinnie] you went from break dancing to beat boxing. With the homies, you was gonna eat for life. If you see any of our albums, it says “written and produced by Naughty By Nature.” Because, homey you [Vinnie] was somebody that was over there beat boxing and break dancing and any lyrics you had anywhere was written for you. Don’t never get larger than the group. The producer and the writer of the group are always like “we, we, we” not “me, me, me.” Even if you don’t do sh*t, we gonna make sure you taken care of for the rest of your life.
How dare you ever play like you bigger than the group or you the owner? You the boss or you the shot caller. Or you anything else other than what the f**k you are, which is a n***a that needs to be enjoying the f**king ride. Don’t never question who I am, what I do, how I am. Don’t stay in ya lane – play ya position. Dogs, you can be hired help at any time. You never wrote one hit. You never produced one hit song. You [Vinnie] came on as a homey that was there…we threw your a lot of bones [work] just to keep you up in there ’cause you was the homey from the door who was up in there. And we always fit you in when there wasn’t a spot for you to be in. Nobody can never question myself or Kay Gee’s loyalty to our people [like Vinnie] that we put down that, at the end of the day, gave us their a$$ to kiss. You can never tell Kay Gee he’s not a member of Naughty. You can never tell Treach he’s not a member of Naughty. When you start to try to hire and fire mother f**kers, you will be put in your mother f**kin’ place.
When you doing side deals behind homies’ back and we find out about it, homey…Naughty will go on. You can be f**kin’ replaced, by just not having you there. I do my own gigs – hosting, performing, everything. There has never been a time when they asked where the f**k was Vin. Don’t never question nothing I do or play us out. Don’t never go on no side thing, don’t never let me find out about no deal behind my back that I gotta find out later, yo, ’cause I don’t work for nobody. I’m self employed. And if anything, me and Kay on the same level. Look at the last Naughty album. This dude [Vinnie] don’t even have a verse on it.
You know why you never heard Naughty By Nature going through sh*t? Me and Vin haven’t really spoke in like two years and to more than 100 shows a year-on the same stage. Wouldn’t nobody know it, because the business is one thing, personal is something else. But when sh*t is going behind people back and somebody is acting like they above people and other things are being set up that the groups doesn’t know about, it has to be stopped. Its been talked about like, “Homey, play your position. Don’t go too far, because sh*t will be exposed.” Nobody in Naughty never went out and spoke out about certain sh*t, but once, it goes on and sh*t done behind my back, and I have to let them know, I don’t know who’s been spoken to [in the name of business]. All the shows on the calendar, yeah, we are gonna do those shows. After the [contracted shows], its gonna be a wrap for Naughty By Nature as you’ve seen. Its gonna be a whole new set up, because ain’t nobody larger than the team. Nobody is larger than the squad.
If you had to judge somebody off their personal life, you wouldn’t be a fan of none of the mother f**kers you was a fan of. Like real talk. We in the music business, not the music personal. If ma’f**kers are over there dealing with him, that’s all good. I’m not looking at you like, “F**k you, I’m just saying.” Things don’t mix with us. So don’t be mad if you say, “Well, I’m doing this with him…” and wonder why I cut you off. Do the business you doing with him, I’m doing my own business over here. Our business don’t mix no more. Don’t be mad at me for where I’ve been or where I’m going, but where I’m at.
Its ugly and its been too ugly without no talking [with Vinnie]. You look for somebody to be bigger than that when you are being bigger than that. If I’m going to be the man I’ve been and somebody can’t be the man their supposed to be, I don’t have time for that. I need to be around positive vibes and people that are on the same level – ego free. Everybody got a common goal but working together. Ain’t nobody hating on nobody, stepping on them to get on top. Everybody working together. If that ain’t with the vibe from the people that’s around me, they get a grown man time out and they sit in the corner for a minute…real talk.
In the full audio, Treach goes deeper with the implications for Naughty going forward, including how he feels the group supported Vinnie, his positive contributions to the business side and how everybody played a part in the brand.

(AllHipHop News) As Hip-Hop heads into its 4th decade the question of when the culture will expand beyond just a representation of youthful transgressions has become a point of interest for some of the genre’s veteran emcees. One rap pioneer, Grandmaster Melle Mel, feels it’s time for Hip-Hop to focus on living a healthy life and not just partying.
“At some point somebody has to realize that Hip-Hop has to learn how to grow up. It’s way too juvenile, and it’s been that way for too long,” Mel told the Washington Times.
The legendary member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inducted group Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five went on to address the heavy use of drugs and alcohol in Hip-Hop.
“It’s not really worth it to literally party yourself to death. It’s like committing suicide,” said the 51-year-old. “You have to choose between what makes you feel good and what makes you think you feel good.”

The topic of excessive drug use in Hip-Hop came to the forefront once again recently after the tragic death of Kriss Kross member Chris Kelly on May 1st. It has been reported that Kelly died from a cocaine and heroin overdose. He was 34.
50 Cent, Snoop Lion, and RZA also spoke about their healthy lifestyle choices and Hip-Hop’s obsession with youth. 50 and Snoop admitted that neither engage in drinking alcohol. RZA revealed that he gave up eating meat fifteen years ago.
The 43-year-old founding member of Wu-Tang Clan believes that Hip-Hop’s fixation with the need to appear young is a result of the messages the culture has been feed by the greater society.
“They said we should be dead or in jail by the age of 25. And I think we live like that,” said RZA. “What I want to tell the Hip-Hop generation out there is that: There’s a chance you’re going to become a man. Be prepared for it.”

(AllHipHop News) Flavor Flav will face a judge and jury in Las Vegas on September 30th according to a reports. The iconic Hip-Hop hype man and former realty television star will contest assault with a weapon and child endangerment charges after being accused of threatening his girlfriend’s 17-year-old son with a butcher knife, steak knife, and pizza cutter during a fight last October.
Flav (born William Drayton Jr.) pleaded not guilty to the charges on Tuesday. The judge in the case concluded that the prosecution presented enough evidence for Flav to stand trial, so the 54-year-old will have to fight the felony charges in state court.
At a hearing in April, the teenage accuser testified that Flav chased him with a knife, stabbed his bedroom door, and threatened to kill him during an argument on October 17th.
Apparently, the altercation started when Flav and the accuser’s mother began arguing early that morning. After the accuser allegedly yelled, “You’re not going to talk to my mom like that,” the dispute between Flav and the 200-pound teenager got physical. Eventually, the incident resulted in the high school football player holding the Public Enemy member in a head lock in the kitchen.

While Flav did not take the stand at the April hearing, his attorney did suggest that the entertainer’s decision to grab a knife was in self-defense.
If convicted of the all charges, Flav could face up to 12 years in prison.

(AllHipHop News) The family of Emmett Till will get the chance to address their concerns with officials of PepsiCo face-to-face today (May 8) . Civil rights activist and television host Rev. Al Sharpton will also be present at the meeting after asking the soda company to speak with him and the family about the recent controversy involving Lil Wayne.
Sharpton released a press statement on the issue through his National Action Network last week:
I have been in conversations over the last several days with leadership at PepsiCo and the family of Emmett Till we intend to meet next week. This has been a “teaching moment for Lil Wayne, corporate America and the family of Emmett Till yet more than a condemnation of any one artist, it is an affirmation of Emmett Till and a call for more sensitivity about what we say and do in our culture. National Action Network does not want it to end with artists losing contracts but rather with a sensitizing of corporate America so we can learn from these experiences and set a tone that will help everybody. It’s in that spirit that we go forward to meeting with PepsiCo next week.
Wayne began receiving public criticism earlier this year for a line in the song “Karate Chop (Remix)” that made a comparison between the violent death of the civil rights icon and a sex act.
Wayne eventually made a statement directed to Till’s family, saying that he would “like to take a moment to acknowledge your hurt.” The family rejected the letter expressing that they felt the statement was not a real apology and vowed to continue to lobby companies with ties to Wayne.

Eventually, PepsiCo made the decision to end its endorsement partnership will Wayne. The YMCMB rapper had been a part of Mountain Dew’s (a subsidiary of PepsiCo) “Dew You” campaign.

Mountain Dew’s connection to Hip-Hop artists took another blow last when the company had to pull an ad featuring Tyler The Creator. The commercial was deemed as racially insensitive and misogynistic by some.
According to the A.P., Sharpton and the Till family’s sit down with Pepsi will take place at their corporate headquarters in Purchase, New York.

(AllHipHop News) On stage, Treach and Vinnie have been rapping for over 20 years as Naughty By Nature, one of the most popular and beloved rap group’s ever. But, the camaraderie has changed and Treach has released a dis record towards Vinnie called “Tall Midget.”
On the song, Treach goes in.
“Don’t bite the hand that feeds you, that’s exciting, fighting / I shoulda done celebrity ghost stories for all my ghost writing / I can’t fire the owner ’cause its me and my DJ (Kay Gee)/ [you] get a grown man time out / I’m out – get my swag on eBay / Cash, I get it, grab it feel the punishment from this savage / [I’m] a legend lyrical lord call you Uncle Ad Lib.”
Listen to “Tall Midget”:

Naughty By Nature are the first rap group to win a Grammy for Best Rap Album in 1991 for their self-titled debut and the group has had a slew of hits in their illustrious career.
However, 22 years later as Naughty (and longer as a crew) Treach only has a slew of disses. He continues to berate Vinnie, a seemingly affable part-time rapper that generally plays hype-man.
“Time to find your own zone, watch your tone / Naughty Gear was n***as throwing you a bone, homes / I hate a leech lurking off what I build / Cause I’m real, Now I’m doing side deals that I feel.”
Treach maintains there is much more to the story than a likable member.
In an exclusive interview, Treach told AllHiphop.com that this situation has been welling up for years. In fact, he said that he and Vinnie have not talked in about two years in a personal capacity. They have continued the business of Naughty By Nature, doing concerts and interviews.

“We never wanted to be the groups that couldn’t resolve our issues,” Treach told AllHipHop.com. “Nobody is larger than the group. We always fit [Vinnie] in even if there wasn’t a spot for [him] to fit in. You will never see Vin do a Naughty show [alone], because he can’t. Me and KG (the groups DJ and hit making producer) can do this for the rest of our lives. I don’t work for nobody.”
He suggested that they were not on one accord in the business of Naughty By Nature and decisions were made without the rest of the group’s knowledge. In part, that is why he took his problems to Twitter, Treach said. He wanted the general population and business community to know what was going on.
For now, the group has not broken up, but it will be strictly business.
“I’ll never say never to nothing, because I’m a business man,” Treach said. For now, Vinnie is on a “grown man timeout.”
Stay tuned to AllHipHop.com for the full exclusive interview with Treach of Naughty By Nature.
T.I. is a rapper, actor, author, fashion designer and all-around icon. With several classic albums under his belt, and a critically-lauded acting career, he seems unstoppable. The grand chief of Grand Hustle talked to AllHipHop.com exclusively about his Hustle Gang mixtape G.D.O.D., lyrical responsibility, and that $75 Million Dollar Deal.
AllHipHop.com: Tell us about the tape, what you got going on?
T.I.: The tape, man, it’s gon’ be the hottest s**t out right now. I’m extremely proud of it. I feel like it was a collective effort. Everybody came in and contributed, everybody is shining. It’s a broad spectrum of artistry on there. Not just hood s**t, not just club s**t, not just creative s**t, it’s a wide display of talent on there. And everybody sound hungry, everybody sound like they want it. They don’t sound entitled, they don’t sound like they already made it, everybody on there, including myself sound like I want mine and anybody standing in the way of it, fina get f***ed up.
AllHipHop.com: What was the thought process behind putting this mixtape together?
T.I.: Go. Let’s go. I announced it about a month ago. The whole project was put together in that amount of time.
AllHipHop.com: What’s the meaning of the title?
T.I.: G.D.O.D. Get Dough or Die [Download]. I mean that. Ain’t nobody around me meant to live broke. We gon’ live by that, we gon’ die by that. Ain’t nobody gon’ out hustle us, cuz we gon’ put our life on the line for it.
AllHipHop.com: So, what’s next for Grand Hustle?
T.I.: Well, we got artists right now with singles out. We got Dro with the FDB (F** Dat B**ch) campaign tearing up Atlanta right now. We got Travis Scott just put out his record “Upper Echelon,” me and 2 Chainz about to shoot that video tomorrow. For real, we wanna be the deepest crew in the game. We wanna have the most hit records, we wanna be on the most tours, we got pop acts, we got urban acts. We got s**t worthy of attention. So, while you cutting checks? Keep us in mind. We ain’t letting up.
AllHipHop.com: I gotta ask about Iggy.
T.I.: The Iggy situation, as it stands right now, is only a personal relationship as it stands right now. We talked about ways to really sit and do some work together, but the people over there in her camp are gon’ have to see that there’s as much benefit in what we do over here, as what she do over there. It ain’t Iggy. But, right now, we still have a great relationship. Because I don’t need nobody to shine. I had Meek (Mill), he told me he had another opportunity, I told him to go ahead. Not go ahead and still owe me money, but to go ahead. And, to this day, me and Meek still got a good relationship. I’m happy for what he’s doing, he’s actually on the mixtape. But at the same time, the work that I put into something, if I feel like you’re trying to take that from me, I’m coming to see you. But, as far as I’m concerned as long as she wanna be Hustle Gang, she gon’ be Hustle Gang.
AllHipHop.com: Sometimes it seems, Tip, that a label that has a big star, such as yourself… like that artist never wants to see anybody rise any higher than them. What would you say to someone who has that perception?
T.I.: I can’t wait to have somebody surpass my level of success, man. I’m ready to kick back, because as long as I’m the number one earner, it means I’m the number one worker. On the weekends, I’m gon be working while everybody else is chilling. I’m looking for somebody else to shine, so while they working, I can do some relaxing. For somebody who wants to shine all the time, that mean they wanna do all the work. I don’t wanna do all the work; I wanna do my share of the work. Then, they do their share of the work and we all meet at the bank.
AllHipHop.com: I’ve heard the rumors that you’re shopping for a 75 Million Dollar deal. Is this mixtape a part of that? Are you shopping for a deal that size?
T.I.: Yeah, absolutely. This is definitely a piece of that puzzle. I went and sat down with all the distributors and it’s a very, very small world these days. I met with my current partner, or should I say, ever so respectfully, my former partner at Atlantic, or Warner, I sat down with them, I sat down with Sony, I sat down with Universal. It’s a concise message all the way around, everybody wanna be in business, don’t nobody wanna pay. Nobody wants to give me what I feel like I deserve. Aight, cool. This is what I say to them, I’ll keep what I got to myself. I’ll do this s**t independent, I’ll Master P this mother**ker to death. The type of money they’re talking about putting up, I can get that on my own, putting a record out independently, making 85% of it, and owning my masters. Artists like me, man, for a record company to think they are signing me, that’s their first f**k up. You gotta look at me like you’re going into business with a multi-media company. From music, publishing, movies, television, fashion… I already have so many different areas. I’m earning millions of dollars in 6, 7 different areas. I’m already a multi-million dollar company. So, you think I’m gon’ let you go into business with me, and get part of that for anything less than 8 figures?

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday, Naughty By Nature frontman Treach dropped a bomb on the Hip-Hop World, stating that he and Vinnie were no longer friends.
But, the Brick City don used far more colorful terms on Twitter.
Treach said, “Vinnie from NAUGHTY BY NATURE is Officially FIRED!! Anything he does besides shows til Sept is Frugazy!! F**k him & the Ground he Walks!!”
He continued, “Anybody that f**ks with that B#### a$$ N#### Don’t F**k with Me!!”
Vinnie has now spoken out, albeit very sparsely, on Twitter.
He said, “I’m waking to drama. Spoke to my publicist. Silence is Golden. In the meantime Business 101: You can’t Fire the Owner ;-).” He did not elaborate.
AllHipHop will speak to Treach exclusively on this in a story that will run tomorrow. Look for it.
Both Vinnie and Treach have indicated that no Naughy By Nature shows will be cancelled that they have booked thus far.
Naughty is one of the most anticipated act for the upcoming Roots Picnic on June 1.

(AllHipHop News) Chris Brown’s private jet went down in smoke, but in an emergency landing. According to TMZ, eight minutes into Brown’s flight from Burbank, Calif. to Teterboro, NJ the plane began to be filled with smoke.
Brown was on his way to the MET Gala in New York City but the delay caused him to miss the event. Luckily, Brown was able to catch another flight to New York City in time to attend the “PUNK: Chaos To Couture” after-party.
Brown is not out of hot water just yet as his Hollywood Hills neighbors recently filed a complaint with Councilman Tom LaBonge regarding Brown’s graffiti in the area. After the councilman received the complaints he contacted the Department of Building and Safety which ordered Brown to remove the graffiti or face a fine. Neighbors have also complained about Brown’s loud parties and speeding cars in the past.
