EXCLUSIVE: From "Pathetic" to "Kudos", Shyne and Kosha Dillz Weigh In on Rick Ross' Jewish Mixtape

(AllHipHop News) This week, Rick Ross released his highly publicized and controversial new mixtape project, The Black Bar Mitzvah. Its cover art pictures Rick Ross in the middle of the Jewish Star of David, adorned with fur and designer shades amidst a black and gold themed titling.

Ross has yet to comment on his faith; however, from whathe says in the intro of the project, the title appears to be a play on the common Jewish stereotypes of wealth and helping fellow members of their faith succeed in life socially and financially:

“Don’t put me on Forbes no more, my n*gga. If I’m not next to the Maloufs, or Tony Wynn, or them n*ggas that own Vegas. Don’t put me next to these lil’ broke n*ggas, n*gga. F*ck n*ggas happy with 10 million, my boat was 12 million n*gga [laughter].

“Black Bar Mitzvah, Black Hebrews, all my Jewish partners, all my business endeavors. Open your minds. We gettin’ mo money, we owners now. Follow the code, we on the road to riches. P*ssy n*ggas gotta wave now, when I look in they direction they gotta wave now…[laughter] I love it!”

Be it a compliment, joke, or simple nod to those of the Jewish faith, Jewish rappers Shyne and Kosha Dillz spoke with AllHipHop.com separately about their views on the title and premise behind the project.

Kosha Dillz has represented his Jewish heritage through Hip-Hop in many ways, as he even had a Shabbat tent at the Paid Dues Festival, since the festival coincided with Passover this past year.  In addition, Kosha frequently raps in Hebrew and is a practicing Jew with frequent contact with his Rabbi.

On Monday, Kosha Dillz spoke with AllHipHop.com from Washington, D.C. while on RZA’s “The Man with the Iron Fists” tour.

“I do make Jewish raps, but I also just rap and happen to be Kosha Dillz. People may not understand every bar that I spit, but people do understand what I’m representing and that I’m representing some sort of heritage. Like in the BET cypher, I rap in Hebrew because I want that to be felt,” Kosha Dillz explained.

“It’s so crazy because it’s a good title, just in general. I just met Rick Ross because I was at the BET Hip-Hop Awards in the front row, and I said what up to him. I had my yarmulke on, too, so I just thought it was crazy how he said peace to me, then a day later…Black Bar Mitzvah.

Said Kosha Dillz, “One, I think it’s a play that Jews get money, which kind of just permeates that stereotype. Also it’s cool in the sense that other Jewish kids that are listening to Rick Ross that didn’t want to have anything to do with the holidays that just passed will now think it’s cool. I spoke to my Rabbi about it, and we were just thinking it’s kind of crazy, because when I started, everyone was like, ‘Why is he doing that?’ And then slowly but surely, being Jewish is becoming cool, and now I think there may be a larger acceptance in certain communities.

“Like oh yeah, Rick Ross reps for the Jews. Whether it’s superficial or not, it still has an effect on the way people are perceived. We are here to share our culture, we get busy, we go this and that. Hip-Hop was invented by Black culture in the Bronx, so we are blessed to be contributing back and forth, so kudos to Rick Ross. The only thing that I am sad about is that I didn’t have a song on the project.”

Shyne, on the other hand, took Ross’ title personally, saying it was “sarcastic,” and that Ross had been mimicking his moves in the game for some time now.

“I felt he was being sarcastic or being – like, I didn’t really understand what he was trying to say, like he’s not Jewish, I thought he was Muslim. Anyone can be Jewish, it’s a faith, it’s not a race, but I never heard him proclaim his affinity to Judaism. All of the sudden, I come out with a record a few weeks ago with Pusha T called “Meyer Lansky,” and then he comes out with Black Bar Mitzvah. It’s like, nah, get off mine. I feel like he jockin, know what I’m saying?” Shyne explained.

“You can look at him on his YouTube saying how much he loves Shyne, and how he think my albums are classics and all that. It’s natural for people to be influenced by other people, and if he was anybody else, I would take it as a compliment. But what he stands for and represents disgusts me. Ya understand? It’s not the occupation. I known many descent people who were correctional officers, but none of them would become a rapper and start talking about thug life and gang life, you understand? If they did I would say they are disgusting as well,” Shyne remarked.

“So that’s the problem, it’s a matter of OK, if that’s what you did, you should be rapping about reformation, rehabilitation, you should be rapping about getting kids off the streets. Rap about what you know. He goes too hard with the whole dope boy lifestyle, the whole Scarface thing. He’s like Donnie Brasco, he’s like Ice T from New Jack City, and that’s pathetic, man. It’s really outrageous that we live in a culture where he thinks it’s OK. Again, I’ve known many of C.O.s, but it’s about integrity. How does Sammy the Bull come out and talk about being a gangster? If you a C.O., rap about girls, be a backpack rapper, but how you gonna rap about gang life?”

At the time of print, Rick Ross has yet to comment on the project.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Who Would Kendrick Lamar Add To The Black Hippies?

Well, I’m late. Recently, AHH’s chief Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur interviewed Kendrick Lamar at the New York Apple store, promoting his new album GKMC. (You can pre-order that here, by the way.) I heard that the conversation was pretty cool and the audience was hype! Kendrick went on to perform a few songs too. But, from what I understand, he was asked by an audience member who he would like to add to the crew if he could. Apparently, it was this man:

DANNY BROWN!

Danny Brown is a wild dude and he’s also co-signed by the realest G’s in Detroit, where he is from. I’m not getting anything else from that so its not clear if this is on the way. But, its pretty cool that these dudes are working together. Also, its cool that Kendrick Lamar won lyricist of the year, over Nas, Cole World, Kanye and Jay no less! Wow. Talk about a changing of the guard. Anyway….here is a pic floating around.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Old Rock Chick Says She Would Have Killed Nicki Minaj!!!

Well, this is a case of pop s**t on the Hip-Hop chick, eh!?

Have you ever heard of Stevie Nicks? No, not Stevie J or Stevie Wonder! Stevie Nicks! She’s a rock chick that is beyond fallen off. YET, TheDaily.com decided to give her a big ol’ platform to speak out against Nicki Minaj. This is all predicated on the possibility and likelihood that this is a big press stunt, but I DIGRESS. The once hittin’ Stevie said:

“How dare this little girl! … If I had been Mariah I would have walked over to Nicki and strangled her to death right there.”

“I would have killed her in front of all those people and had to go to jail for it.”

Little girl, eh? Nicki damn near 30. Just because she’s not on the other side of zombie doesn’t mean she’s a child.  Now, I think its all silly and Nicki’s behavior lacked a certain amount of class, but I will say this: I’d molly wop Stevie Nicks if she touched my fantasy girl! LOL!

Stevie, YOU AIN’T BUSTIN’ A GRAPE in a food fight at your convalescent home! You might gum one to death if you are lucky! At the end of the day, Nicki is lucky Stevie isn’t relevant enough to judge “American Idol.

Exclusive: AllHipHop.com Takes a "Peek" Inside Miami's Famous King of Diamonds Club

(AllHipHop News) “Mr.KOD” Disco Rick recently spoke with AllHipHop.com about the ins and outs of King of Diamonds (KOD) and their plans leading up to the end of 2012, including giving of gifts and lots of money.

Running the Miami establishment alongside Terry Elliot and Liz, Disco Rick calls KOD “like a prison…and we’re the wardens and the girls our are prisoners.”

For multiple dancing girls, working at KOD has skyrocketed their success. After recently stepping away from the stage and becoming pregnant by YMCMB star Tyga, Black Chyna was one of the biggest starlets to come from the popular spot.

Disco Rick downplays this year’s bottle-throwing incident between Chris Brown and Drake, while reassuring potential patrons that there would be nothing like that happening at his popular destination.

Says Disco Rick, “Save the fighting for King of Diamond Mondays…Get in the boxing ring!”

Exclusive: Wu-Tang Baby Mama Tabatha Lewis Grinds Her Axe Against Raekwon

(AllHipHop News Feature) “Just know my kid is home, happy, healthy, and safe!”

That was rapper Raekwon’s primary response to AllHipHop.com about the recent allegations made against him as a father and a provider. The trouble all started with a tweet and is likely to end in a draw – between a self-proclaimed misrepresented mother and the beloved rap icon she once befriended and bore a child with.

On September 25 of this year, founding member of the legendary rap group Wu-Tang Clan, Raekwon, tweeted the following:

“Me n DonP w/big bub eating at a restaurant, $500 a plate.”

That tweet prompted Raekwon’s oldest daughter’s mother, Tabatha Lewis, to speak out about the highly-respected Only Built for Cuban Linx rapper – and his alleged lack of parenting.

Lewis stated:

“…You have to become a parent! Just because you provided your DNA doesn’t make you a parent…”

Blogs across the internet reported that Lewis, who met Raekwon in 1994 while she was a senior in high school and he was on the road in North Carolina, was homeless and lost custody of her child.

Lewis alleges that Raekwon was never supportive from the beginning, noting that he already had a “girl” while she was pregnant, and wanted to “put her somewhere” for safe keeping and away from his public life.

About their current state of affairs, Raekwon offered an impassioned response – not to attack Lewis – but in the best interest of his daughter:

“Tell her I will deal with it at my leisure, and thank you! All she needs to know is my kid is fine, and she’s with me and my family. I wish this lady and her other child the best. I will not stain my loving child with these allegations. She’s happy, and she’s focused on her education thing heavy!!!

“These things are way more important to me than a statement! I appreciate AllHipHop’s concern for my well being, but my kid hurts from this, so I will not attend that mess! You would think a mother wants to see their kid in a better space. But I don’t know and don’t care about her situation. She has to take responsibility for her actions!”

Listen to audio below of AllHipHop.com’s exclusive interview with Tabatha Lewis, who wants to set the record straight about losing custody of her child, being homeless, and what Raekwon the chef is really like as a father:

Hip-Hop Rumors: Waka Flocka Disses Rihanna 'Cause She's Got "History"

Hmm, did Rihanna turn down Waka Flocka Flame once upon a time? He sure sounds super salty in a recent statement he made about her while on Power 105.1’s morning show, The Breakfast Club. In the interview, Waka implies that Rihanna is unattractive because she has “history.” Check out what he said below:

“I’m in a relationship, I’ve had a girl for almost two years. She’s about that life. That small talk [about women] don’t get her. … I’m d*mn sure ain’t going for Rihanna. H*ll nah. [Do I think Rihanna’s bad?] H*ll nah. It ain’t that I don’t think she’s bad, it’s like, nah, brah. She’s got history. You know what I mean? I don’t know, I can’t judge nobody. I don’t know. You don’t know what rocks to them, they’re in their beds. So you don’t know what’s going on.”

So it’s safe to say that Waka won’t be collaborating with Rihanna or Chris Brown anytime soon. Check out the Waka interview below:

Hip-Hop Rumors: French Montana Says Rap Beef Is Dead

French Montana really is a man of the people, isn’t he? First being signed to Akon, and now being jointly signed to Bad Boy and MMG. He also works with YMCMB and Brick Squad. The only crew he hasn’t infiltrated is G.O.O.D. Music – oh wait, he has tons of songs with 2 Chainz dating back to when he was Tity Boy. No wonder he dislikes beef – his hustle is being able to float from crew-to-crew to stay hot at all times. I like his “lick” – that means “a hustle” if you didn’t know.

In a recent interview with Complex, French details why he dislikes beef and why you stay away from it at all costs:

“You should avoid beef if you trying to make money. People get scared when you try to beef with people. In general, [even in street s###] nobody want to stand next to you if somebody about to shoot you, unless you have a a big lick. They [used to] do that with 50 because 50 was the bank. They knew he was going to win. People ain’t doing that [anymore] … [The rap game’s not built like that anymore]. No, it’s over for that. It’s gone, big time. They’ll get you out so fast.”

Wait, did he just diss 50 Cent?

Waka Flocka Votes For First Time, Now That He's A Tax Paying Citizen

(AllHipHop News) Waka Flocka Flame has cast his vote for the 2012 Presidential Elections and the Atlanta rapper has revealed he has cast his vote for President Barack Obama.

Waka Flocka of is one of tens-of-thousands of people who are taking advantage of early voting in over 30 states.

The majority of the early votes are done through mail, while in person voting is slated to start next week, in a number of states.

“I’ve been voted early,” Waka Flocka revealed on The Cipha Sounds & Rosenberg Show with K. Foxx, on Hot 97. “It’s my first time voting. I’m a taxpayer now, so you know you got to vote for the right guy. They say every vote counts, I had to make sure mines did.”

Although none of the early votes will be counted until after the November 6 election date, that didn’t deter Waka Flocka from making sure he took advantage of his constitutional right to vote.

Waka, who said he has been a homeowner for over five years, has been paying taxes that stretched into the six-figures, since his rap career took off, although he had not voted until this year.

The rapper offered up a very logical explanation for not participating, as well as his change of heart, to take part in this year’s election.

“Not trying to be hard, not trying to be tough, but if you’re from the streets, how can voting hope your life?” Waka Flocka asked. “How can tax dollars help your life?…taxes, medical, insurances, you don’t need none of that. But when you start living like a civilized person, you got to follow the rules.”
