Activists Want Bill Cosby’s Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star Removed

COSBY’S LEGACY CONTINUES TO TARNISH

Activists are pushing for Bill Cosby’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to be removed since a 2005 deposition surfaced of him admitting to giving a Temple University employee a sedative when he wanted to have sexual intercourse with her.

“If they don’t remove that star, we can call it the walk of shame,”activist Najee Ali told the Associated Press.  “Cosby to black America is an icon, but once an icon figure betrays the trust of the community, we have to withdraw our support and condemn their actions.”

The former TV dad’s star was actually vandalized last year when someone wrote “rapist” over it after sexual assault and rape allegations flooded the media.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has responded to this request with disinterest in removing the star.

“We have never removed a star from the Walk,” said Leron Guble, president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “Once a star has been added to the Walk it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”

Ever since the deposition was released, Centric and Bounce TV have pulled Cosby Show reruns from their programming and Hollywood Studios has removed their  bronze Bill Cosby statue from their theme park.
