(AllHipHop News) Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar’s Reebok sneaker line has been used as a call for unity among street gangs. “The Blacker the Berry” rhymer continues that mission with a new release.
K. Dot’s Classic Leather edition, designed in conjunction with Ian Paley, includes a split blue/red seam, which serves as a symbol of peace between the Crips and the Bloods. The 2015 Kendrick Ventilators had a similar theme.
Reebok’s director of entertainment marketing Damion Presson gave an interview to Billboard about the latest collaboration with Lamar.
“Kendrick is taking a different approach with his capsule, as he’s building purposeful product that has a message of unity which transcends the Bloods and the Crips,” said Presson. “This shoe reflects the sentiment of youth culture globally, and Reebok Classic has stood the test of time and continues to inspire the next generation of consumers who look to be fashion forward while embracing the nostalgia of an iconic shoe.”
