The highly-anticipated 17th annual Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards will take place on Thursday, March 7, 2024, and the prestigious event will once again celebrate the achievements of trailblazing Black women in Hollywood.
Grammy Award-winning rapper, actor, and entrepreneur Method Man will host the event as ESSENCE shines light on women who are making an undeniable and indelible mark in film and television.
This year’s entertainment industry trailblazers include Academy Award-nominated actress & Grammy Award winner, Danielle Brooks, six-time Grammy-nominated singer and leading actress, Halle Bailey, acclaimed screenwriter and showrunner of All American, All American: Homecoming and Found, Nkechi Okoro Carroll and industry powerhouse & President of Original Programming for STARZ, Kathryn Busby.
Through the lens of cinematic achievement, the 2024 awards ceremony will both honor and explore the multifaceted strength that defines the essence of Black women, with emphasis on their role as pillars of resilience and determination even in the face of industry adversity.
The 2024 theme of Essence Black Women in Hollywood is “Radiant Power”- spotlighting the strength, grace, and influence of Black women in television and film following the turmoil of the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strike. The awards ceremony will air on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
