In Boston there was a time when the Winter Hill Gang reigned supreme. The story on how they ruled the Boston underworld is a familiar story locally, and its one that has captivated the minds of everyone in Boston for years. Now the story is going worldwide as Johnny Depp plays Whitey Bulger in the Warner Brothers movie ‘Black Mass,’ a story that has long since become engrained in Boston’s urban legends of the rough South Side of the city.
Operating with impunity as a the ring leader of a ruthless empire that moved drugs, buried bodies, gambled, extorted through violence, and other means, Irish Mafia boss Whitey Bulger was as cold as the New England winters. At this point, knowing rappers, we wouldn’t be surprised if his name is in the works to become the title of a Boston rapper’s mixtape if it hasn’t already. With a rap sheet that included a stint at Alcatraz and over 19 murders Bulger got it done with the law on his side, having a brother that was deep in the political game of Massachusetts.
But in this true story crime drama, there are twists and turns that leave a blemish on Whitey’s career as a gangster. Having struck a deal with Boston’s division of the FBI, Whitey was able to run the South side of Boston while he operated as an informant for the ABC boys. Did you say snitch or rat? To Whitey it wasn’t being a rat, it was a business decision that allowed him to make millions moving drugs and dominating the lucrative black market of Boston’s underworld.
Although Jim Bulger still maintains to this day that he “never cracked,” FBI sources say that he simply doesn’t want it to be true given his “Southie” upbringing that frowned upon rats. Either way corruption was rampant. At times Whitey says he paid FBI employees as much as $25,000 – $50,000 cash handing them a box or envelope. To the Winter Hill Gang there was always a way to corrupt government agents. While the FBI was focused on the Italian Mobb, they let the Godfather of the Irish Mafia do his dirty work with no repercussions. To this day Bulger maintains that he always asked the questions, him running the convos and looking for tips, not the other way around.
Hip-Hop culture has always had a fascination with gangsters like Scarface, Goodfellas and other crime movies – this one def adds to the list of films for us to enjoy . Johnny Depp is ruthless, dark and at times chillingly comfortable in his role as a sick and twisted Boston mobster that killed over 19 people that we know about.
While the film tells an incredible story of how the law can get tied up in the streets, but the truth of the matter is that many people lost lives and this guy tormented South Boston for decades. How did the Boston FBI really allow this to happen? The answer and eventual scapegoat was John Connelly, who finds himself at the center of this film. We won’t ruin for you but this is def a good gangster movie for anyone looking to know more about Whitey Bulger the notorious Boston gangster.

50 Cent does not want the details of his Vitamin Water deal mentioned during his bankruptcy case, according to published reports. During a court visit on Sept. 15th, Fif claimed that if the details are made public it could negatively impact his future business deals because companies that want to negotiate with him will have the upper hand.
In 2004, 50 partnered up with Glaceau, who owns Vitamin Water, for his own drink, Formula 50. In exchange for being the face of the brand, he was given a share in the company. When Coca-Cola bought Glaceau for $4.1 billion in 2007, 50 was paid $100 million for his shares in the company. He also signed a deal with Coca-Cola stating that the could still use him as the endorser, but that deal ended in 2009. In that deal, it states that discussing how much 50 was paid to promote the brand was prohibited.
The judge has not decided whether to honor 50’s request.

Straight Outta Compton has become one of 2015’s top films not only because of the exceptional performances by the cast, but also because of the groundbreaking sales at the box office. The N.W.A biopic has reportedly grossed $157.5 million in the U.S and Canada, which has helped the film’s director, F. Gary Gray, set a record for African-American directors.
Gray has become the highest-grossing black director of a single film in domestic sales, VIBE reports. He has now passed Keenen Ivory Wayans, who held the top spot for Scary Movie, which raked in $157 million, and Tim Story whose Fantastic Four grossed $154.6 million.
Gray made his directorial debut in 1993 when he directed Ice Cube’s video for “Today Was A Good Day.” He went on to direct Set it Off, Friday, Law Abiding Citizen, The Sea of Trees and The Italian Job.
The most successful track from Jay Z and Kanye West’s joint album, Watch the Throne, “N-ggas in Paris,” has inspired an illustrated book. Thanks to Bianca Bosso of The Interns, the song was turned into a children-friendly book, titled Friends in Paris, that plays off of Ye and Jay’s bromance.

A man who claims he worked with Sir Mix-A-Lot on “Baby Got Back” has lost a court battle after trying to receive royalties from “Anaconda,” according to theJasmineBRAND.com.
David Ford claims that he collaborated with Sir Mix-A-Lot on a number of tracks, including the Grammy-winning 1992 hit “Baby Got Back.” Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” samples the track and Ford went to court to try to get a portion of the royalties from the song since it pulls from a song he allegedly worked on.
Sir Mix-A-Lot claims that there were never any agreements signed between him and Ford. Ford alleged that he had no idea that he was not listed on the copyrights for the songs he allegedly contributed to, but the judge wasn’t buying it. .
The judge ruled in Mix-A-Lot’s favor and threw the case out.
(AllHipHop News) Could Lil Wayne join Kim Kardashian, Ray J, Mimi Faust, and Hulk Hogan on the list of celebrities to have sex tapes hit the market? According to TMZ, an unnamed individual is attempting to sell intimate footage of Weezy to p### companies.

We’re told the big p### companies have been contacted by a person in possession of the tape, which shows Wayne in nothing but his socks, and 2 more-than-accommodating women who do all the work.
Wayne’s rep says if there is a tape, the rapper didn’t know he was being filmed. And the rep makes it clear they will pounce if a tape is released to the public, saying, “We’ll sue the hell out of them.”
It would be difficult for pornography brands such as Vivid Entertainment (Kim Kardashian Superstar, Mimi & Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta) to release any sex tape featuring Wayne without his consent. Kardashian claimed her tape with R&B singer Ray J was leaked. She later sued Vivid and reportedly settled with the company for $5 million.
(AllHipHop News) It took 67 years, but finally an African-American woman was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. The honor went to Viola Davis for her portrayal of Annalise Keating in ABC’s How To Get Away With Murder.
“‘In my mind, I see a line, and over that line I see green fields and lovely flowers and beautiful white women with their arms stretched out to me over that line. But I can’t seem to get there no how. I can’t seem to get over that line.’ That was Harriet Tubman in the 1800’s,” said Davis during her acceptance speech. “And let me tell you something. The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there.”
The night also saw the return to the Emmys for comedian/actor Tracy Morgan. The star of 30 Rock was involved in a serious car accident in 2014 where he suffered numerous injuries. Morgan took the stage at Microsoft Theater to hand out the award for Outstanding Drama Series.
“I missed you guys so much,” Morgan told the crowd as they gave him a standing ovation. “Thanks to my amazing doctors and the support of my family, my beautiful new wife, I’m here… standing on my own two feet.”
Other winners at the 67th annual Emmy Awards included Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black) for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, Regina King (American Crime) for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie, and Reg E. Cathey (House of Cards) for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
The HBO film Bessie starring Queen Latifah and Mo’Nique took home the award for Outstanding Television Movie. HBO also won the two biggest awards of the night. Game of Thrones received the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series, and Veep was awarded Outstanding Comedy Series.

He also seems to believe women tempt men and take their minds off of the Bible and Quran when they “disrobe” themselves. But isn’t she an entertainer and a grown woman?! Well Rick Ross has gotten in good with Mama Galore. Rick Ross’ fiancee’s (Lira Galore) mother seems to be okay with Rick Ross cheating on her daughter because he buys her diamonds. SMH. It seems that some women and their mothers will compromise and overlook anything for a lifestyle and material things. Lira’s mother said Lira is winning if she’s the one being treated like a Queen in the palace, whether Ross is out there cheating or not. She goes on to say men will be men. When we are introduced to some of these “celebrity” parents, we understand why they are so messed up!
