The family of Sandra Bland is filing a federal lawsuit against the state trooper who arrested her as well as other authorities, NBC reports. Police say that Bland committed suicide three days after being arrested after being stopped for failing to signal a lane change. Bland’s family does not believe the suicide claim and said that authorities have been withholding information from them.
“The bottom line is: She never should have been inside of the jail, period,” said Bland’s mother Geneva Reed-Veal.
The lawsuit holds the Department of Public Safety responsible for Bland’s death and claims that the state trooper acted recklessly in arresting her while other officers showed a “conscious disregard for her safety.” The family also wants the Department of Justice to investigate her death as well.
They are seeking unspecified damages.

Chris Brown is an incredibly talented individual, however he just can’t seem to get his act together. Sometimes one has to wonder has he learned his lesson(s)? Has he changed? His publicist must get paid to do nothing and clean up his mess. In between delivering electrifying dance filled performances, Brown is threatening someone on social media. He recently responded to a fan that commented on his usual cycle of behavior, ending his comment by telling the fan,
“You wouldn’t have the courage to pop off in front of me. U need your teeth.”
Brown has gotten into so many altercations one can’t help but to wonder, is he still just as violent and disruptive? Did the fan have a point by saying Brown says he’s a “new man” every time he does something reckless?

A woman has filed a lawsuit against the creators of the FOX hit Empire for allegedly stealing her life story, TMZ reports. Sophia Eggelston claims that she is the real “Cookie,” the character played by Taraji P. Henson, and that many aspects of that character fit her real life. Her lawsuit is for $300 million.
Eggleston said that she gave a copy of her autobiography to a screenwriter in 2011 and that that screenwriter later pitched the book to Lee Daniels, who later became the co-creator of Empire.
Eggleston isn’t the first to claim that the Empire creators stole their life story. Ron Newt, claims that when he met Terrence Howard, he pitched him a documentary he was working on about his life as a gangster and a pimp. After the FOX series premiered, he reportedly filed a lawsuit for $1 billion because the similarities hit too close to home.

Uh oh! Will this be 50 Cent vs. Ja Rule beef round 50? Ja Rule has been feeling himself with some of his posts on social media, and through some of the comments he has made in various interviews. 50 Cent wasted no time reminding Ja Rule that he “put his a** to sleep” during their beef. While the Meek Mill vs. Drake beef is both hilarious and entertaining, it just doesn’t compare to famous beefs of the past. With that being said, who had the best rap beef of all time in your opinion?
