(AllHipHop News) Roc Nation emcee J Cole says he took a new approach to forming his upcoming sophomore album Born Sinner. The North Carolina native spoke with Fuse and shared that he changed his writing style and his method for song selection on the new LP.
Cole drew inspiration for taking a different route with the latest project from reading Julia Cameron’s international bestseller The Artist’s Way. The book helped him overcome writer’s block and influenced him to start writing on paper again rather than typing lyrics into his phone.
“I don’t know how I found out about this book. It found me,” said Cole. “Basically, what it wants you to do is to wake up in the morning, and the first thing you do when you wake up is write three pages freehand, non-stop.”
Cole also reveals the material on the new album was created just for this project as oppose to his past works being put together using old material from various recording sessions.
“The first album [Cole World: The Sideline Story] didn’t really feel like I was working on an album. It felt like I was piecing together things,” said Cole. “On this album, I started with nothing… I literally started from scratch. Next thing you know I got nine songs, ten songs. It was just a more organic feel.”

Let me get this right. I know Nore is reading somewhere. On a new song, “Pyramids,” Nore says something like “spikes on the LOUBOUTINS is for weirdos, I’m a hood ni**a / we don’t wear those.” It should be noted that on 50’s “We Up” track he brags about “spikes on the LOUBOUTINS.” Honestly, I don’t know anybody else out there running around bragging about these Louboutins other than 50. I think it’s a slick diss! Plus, Nore has been seen with Ja Rule repeatedly. He’s Ja’s advocate!

UH OH. Beyonce’s craziest fans are called The Bey Hive, but it looks like they are just getting out of control. Just recently, a dude slapped B on her butt. But, these people are acting a fool. One person – clearly insane – claimed that Beyonce had been murdered and replaced by this “imposter.”
The UK Sun reports the drama:
SUPERSTAR Beyoncé is stepping up security at her Twickenham stadium gig — amid fears of a British stalker.
Staff have been told to watch out for obsessed fan Bassey Essien when the Crazy In Love singer headlines the Sound Of Change concert on Saturday.
It is believed she has been sent sick threatening letters.
Essien has already been warned to stay away from Beyoncé, 31 — who won an anti-harassment order in the High Court in 2011, prohibiting him from pestering her.
Court papers revealed Essien, of South West London, had been sending threatening letters to the star since 2009 and made a bizarre claim she was an imposter who had killed the real Beyoncé.
A source said last night: “Staff have been briefed on the situation and pictures of him have been passed round. They’ve been told to keep their eyes open and be extra vigilant.”
The source also revealed: “Security has been increased on a few engagements now, especially for her UK promo.
“It is believed similar letters to the ones that Essien sent have been received.”
