Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty are still facing a hefty six-figure lawsuit filed by German concert security workers in May 2023. Minaj is supposedly being accused of “provoking” Petty to attack security at a 2019 concert. The altercation allegedly stems from an occurrence involving a fan running onstage before security could curtail them. Minaj allegedly yelled at a female security guard, in addition to shouting expletives and berating a security guard by the name of Thomas Weidenmuller while recording them on video.
Things apparently got violent later that day when Weidenmuller met with Minaj and Petty and two of their personal security detail members. Weidenmuller claims the Pink Friday 2 rapper repeatedly shouted at him, called his female co-worker a “f###ing b####” and stood by as Petty attacked him—though he hadn’t been provoked.
“While Minaj screamed obscenities at me, Petty repositioned himself out of my eyesight and without warning struck me in the face, which stunned and disoriented me,” court documents allegedly state. “Because of the surprise nature of the attack, I am not sure as to whether Petty hit me with his fist or with a weapon.”
The recent lawsuit follows a tumultuous few months for Petty. In September, he was sentenced to 120 days of house arrest after looking for Offset in New York City after a contentious online exchange. Both Petty and Minaj were also at the center of a $20 million lawsuit last year after his 1994 sexual assault accuser claimed the couple terrorized her for years to get her to recant the rape allegations against Petty. Though she has been formally removed from the lawsuit, Minaj will still be “prominently” featured in the proceedings.
