Bernie Sanders Supports Cardi B Becoming A Politician

(AllHipHop News) Will Cardi B actually run for public office one day? The Grammy-winning music artist recently expressed her interest in possibly seeking a seat in the House of Representatives or the Senate. 

Earlier this week, Cardi tweeted, “I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress.” She then got an influential co-sign from one of the current 2020 Democratic presidential candidates.

Senator Bernie Sanders told TMZ, “Cardi B is deeply concerned about what’s happening in the country. She knows what it’s like to live in poverty and struggle, and it would be great for her to bring that experience to politics.”

Cardi has been a huge supporter of Sanders’ progressive “Feel The Bern” movement. The stripper-turned-rapper even sat down with the Vermont-based politician for a discussion about issues such as police brutality, immigration, health care, student debt, taxes, wages, and voting.

For many, the foster care system is a miserable cycle. An endless stream of homes until their 18th birthday can dampen anyone’s spirits while building up hostility towards the world. This was Shadow’s reality after a broken home in Boston ushered him into that cycle down in Atlanta. He spent his childhood upset with the world, anger brewing inside of him that many would have crumbled under. Music eventually helped him see the light, and he aims to continue inspiring others through his works.

Timbaland Says God Has Him “Under Construction”

(AllHipHop News) Timbaland has debuted a fit figure after overcoming his painkiller addiction.

The legendary hip-hop producer made a pledge to get in shape after becoming addicted to narcotic pain relief pills following a root canal dental procedure.

“It put me in a great feeling of not caring, of just being free,” he tells Men’s Health of how he felt while high on painkillers. “I’m like, traveling, doing shows, popping ’em, having fun, just being ignorant.”

In addition to his struggle with addiction, Timbaland, real name Timothy Mosley, also owed millions of dollars in back taxes to officials at the Internal Revenue Service and was undergoing a difficult divorce, with the star admitting all of these issues led him to clean up his act.

“(Painkiller withdrawal was) one of the toughest things I’ve been through,” the Give It to Me hitmaker explains.

Timbaland lost 130 pounds after getting clean, performing most of his cardio through boxing and jump rope, and the star insists getting in shape was nothing in comparison to the difficulties he faced becoming sober again.

“When you get beat up the way I got beat up mentally, this ain’t hard,” he declares. “God has me under construction, which I’m still under.

“I don’t feel like I’m complete. I don’t want to ever feel like I’m complete, ’cause my mind would probably get idle. God needed me to be clear so I could see what is needed, not what I want.”

Yung Joc Says He’s Trying To “Lead By Example” By Driving For Ride Sharing App

After a video of Yung Joc driving for ride sharing app, “Pull Up N Go” was posted online, the rapper has finally decided to break his silence.

Joc told TMZ that he’s part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization and that he’s trying to “lead by example” and show the younger generation that you’re not too big to make an honest living.

He also said this was a challenge to do something he never did before and knocked something off his bucket list.

I see his point. Instead of the youth being in the streets hustling, they can earn a living the right way. But I can also see where people can confide his good deed for him trying to earn extra income as well.

(AllHipHop News) Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj will finally be united – as the latest exhibit at the Trap Museum in Atlanta.

The Trap Museum just announced its first female exhibit, which will honor New York rappers Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj.

Despite their longstanding feud, organizers of the Trap Museum recognize both females not only maintained relevance in trap culture, but they kicked in doors for female rappers in the process.

“I’ve always had a love for women who were able to spit bars over a dope beat. The first time I heard Nicki Minaj’s ‘Itty Bitty Piggy’ and Cardi B’s ‘On Fleek’ they were automatically placed on my ‘Best of the Best’ list,” Trap Music Museum’s General Manager Krystal Garner said.

“We vowed to create a space where women in the Hip-Hop industry can be celebrated. I’m grateful for our team’s vision coming to fruition,” Garner said of the permanent exhibit.

The Trap Museum was created by Atlanta rap star T.I. in 2018 and since become a popular tourist attraction, pulling in over 6,000 guests each weekend. ‘

In addition to Cardi B. and Nicki Minaj, works of art created by Ryann Kelly, JJ The Artist, Ismail “Calligrafist” Sayeed, Tiffanie “The Pretty Artist” Anderson and other pieces will be on display.

The Trap Music Museum exhibit dedicated to Cardi B and Nicki Minaj will be unveiled on January 16, 2020. 

Azriel Clary Excited To Reunite With Family After Being Freed From The Clutches Of R. Kelly

(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s ex-girlfriend Azriel Clary has reunited with her estranged family in a series of Instagram snaps.

The 21-year-old was the subject of Lifetime’s documentary series, “Surviving R. Kelly,” and, along with the singer’s current girlfriend Joycelyn Savage, has defended him against multiple allegations of sexual abuse.

Despite Clary’s family alleging that Kelly’s relationship with the young women is what kept them away from their loved ones, she revealed that she’s started the “healing process” with those close to her.

“Surprise,” Clary wrote on Instagram alongside a series of snaps alongside her parents and siblings. “Let the healing process begin. Love yall and thank y’all I even thank everyone who follows me.. because you all believed in me when I could not believe for myself.”

Clary was recently involved in a brawl with Savage, who was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery after allegedly punching her when she arrived at the “Ignition” star’s Trump Tower apartment in Chicago, Illinois to collect her belongings.

R. Kelly was arrested last year on a 13-count federal indictment for sexual abuse in Chicago, while he is also facing a racketeering and sex trafficking trial in New York.

He has pleaded not guilty to all allegations.

According to The Wrap, Meth is slated to star opposite of Mary in 50’s upcoming series “Power Book II: Ghost.”

Method Man will play a slick attorney named Davis MacLean who Starz described as “brilliant, ethically challenged” with a few secrets of his own.

But the lawyer is soon drawn to the wrong side of the law, as he descends into a world of drugs and murder.

In July, executive producers 50 Cent and Courtney Kemp announced the new series at an event hosted by the Television Critics Association.

Pras Hit With Huge Judgment For Missing Child Support Court Dates

(AllHipHop News) Former Fugees star Pras Michel has been denied his request to lower his child support payments after missing a key court hearing.

The rapper had been seeking to reduce the monthly $4,800 fees he pays to his ex Angela Severiano for their son Landon.

Pras claims he can no longer afford the amount after U.S. federal authorities seized his accounts amid accusations of campaign-finance violations linked to former President Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

However, after skipping his latest hearing at Manhattan Family Court on Monday, Magistrate Amanda Norejko dismissed the case.

“There has been no request for adjournment,” Norejko declared. “I’m going to find that he (Michel) is in default and I’m going to dismiss his petition… for the failure to appear.”

Michel was also ordered to cover Severiano’s legal fees, amounting to nearly $60,000.

The hip-hop star, real name Prakazrel Michel, previously missed a court date in November, when his lawyer claimed he had suffered a death in the family.

He was threatened with a bench warrant but avoided arrest after attending the next hearing in December.

Severiano’s lawyer, Robert Wallack, tells the New York Post, “Pras jerked us around for almost a year with this bogus and baseless downward modification petition. We’re pleased with the Court’s counsel fee award.”

Pras Michel’s legal troubles with his ex are far from over – Severiano filed her own case against the 47-year-old over allegations of unpaid child support and other costs.

He is accused of owing the mother of his child more than $120,000.

That case is due to be heard in court on January 31.

(AllHipHop News) The mother of a Brooklyn teenager filed a huge lawsuit against the Department of Education, and it all has to do with rapper 50 Cent.

A 14-year-old named Davian Frasure became internet famous due to his uncanny resemblance to the G-Unit rap star, who jokingly labeled the kid his “third son.”

But Frasure’s Insta-fame turned into a nightmare at the beginning of this school year, when other teenagers at the Williamsburg Charter High School in Brooklyn started bullying him.

The kids at the charter school started taunting over his association with his “dad” 50 Cent and soon insults turned into injuries.

“He was punched in the head and then the student proceeded to fight him and then he slammed my son’s head onto the ground,” Davian’s mom Myasia Dickerson told The New York Daily News. ‘

Dickerson is suing for the Department of Education for a grand total $5.5 million in damages for failing to provide adequate safety for her son, and other kids at the school.

(AllHipHop News) The World Wide Web can be a rough place when it comes to jokes. Maurice “Trick Daddy” Young was the latest Hip Hop celebrity to find himself in the crosshairs of the internet. 

The rapper was arrested for cocaine possession in Miami-Dade County over the weekend before posting a $6,000 bail. After Trick Daddy’s unflattering mugshot began spreading around social media, photoshoppers quickly turned the image into memes.

However, the Liberty City native suggested that the autoimmune disease lupus is the cause of his appearance in the photo. He responded on Facebook to the online jokes.

“Let me get this right .. you lie on me .. make fun of the fact that I Have lupus … and all this just for likes .. thank god [I’m] strong .. everything is funny until it hits close to home .. my feelings don’t hurt easily I’m too worried about waking up tomorrow,” read a message posted to Trick’s FB page.

Trick Daddy first revealed he was suffering from Lupus in 2009. The Based on a True Story album creator stated at the time, “I went to the doctor like 12 years ago… We took all kinds of tests because I was trying to get rid of what we call dry skin. She did biopsies and all types of blood tests and swab tests. She told me, some type of way, I have the disease lupus.”

Lakeith Stanfield is currently garnering attention for his appearances in the critically-acclaimed films Uncut Gems and Knives Out. During an interview with Huffington Post, the 28-year-old star of the Atlanta television series expressed his interest in creating his own Joker.

“I’ve been moving around, talking to different things. I’ve been writing different things. One day, it shall happen, even if I have to do it on my own. Even if we have to screen it at, like, little small theaters or something,” said Stanfield about having conversations on putting together a Joker movie.

He added, “I’m mixing around a little. I’ve been writing some Joker stuff, I’ve been writing some different off-color projects, things that have nothing to do with anything that I’m doing. Just trying to build my own little story. But I’m definitely going to need some help because I suck at writing.”

Lakeith Stanfield is next set to be the leading man in The Photograph with Issa Rae (Insecure, Little). The Stella Meghie-directed romantic drama arrives in North American theaters on February 14. Season 3 of Atlanta is expected to return in January 2021.

Cardi B Engages In Gun Reform Debate On Social Media

(AllHipHop News) One day after Cardi B expressed interest in possibly running for the United States Congress in the future, the 27-year-old “Bodak Yellow” hitmaker showed off some of her political skills on Twitter. She focused on the issue of gun reform.

“Let me tell you something cause every time I post anything political I get [attacked] all type of crazy. If you are a conservative & if you support [an] opposite party that’s OK (unless you [are] racist) we can get into friendly debates on here voice your opinion…,” tweeted Cardi.

One user responded to her by offering, “We [cool] just don’t touch my guns.” Cardi responded, “Listen, I do believe we have the right to [bear] arms however I do believe in order to get a gun we should get mental check ups, proper training, and [an] older age limit to own one. If the proper age limit to drinking is 21 because these kids can’t handle their liquor how can they… Possibly get the responsibility to own a gun? …..is that fair?”

Another user then mentioned that “owning a gun is a constitutional right just like free speech.” The Grammy winner replied, “And it can also get prohibited like the time alcohol was but guess what? It was [allowed] again with regulations and strict rules and now people drink responsibly.”

When someone offered, “But you can be 18 to join the military? I’m all for what [you’re] saying but it goes hand in hand,” Cardi answered, “To join the military you need proper training and follow rules right? They do [an] evaluation check to get in right? If you don’t qualify you get kicked out right? So if you don’t get training and don’t follow proper rules and don’t qualify to own a gun you shouldn’t have one.”

This is not the first time Cardi B publicly shared her political views. She is an outspoken critic of Republican President Donald Trump’s policies and a vocal supporter of Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders. 

Last January, Cardi’s rant about Trump’s record-breaking government shutdown went viral with mainstream media outlets like the Washington Post, Time, CNN, CBS News, Fox News, and the BBC covering her opinion. Additionally, the A-list entertainer called on all the POTUS contenders to answer questions about police brutality in July.

This week, Cardi’s Invasion Of Privacy surpassed Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998) as the longest-charting debut album by a female rapper. The Grammy-winning LP spent its 92nd week on the Billboard 200 chart.

Will Smith Smith Regrets Snubbing Tupac Over Jada Pinkett

(AllHipHop News) Will Smith will always regret snubbing the opportunity to befriend Tupac Shakur because he was jealous of the late rap legend’s close friendship with his now-wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

Jada shared a strong bond with Tupac after meeting as students at the Baltimore School for the Arts in Maryland, and while their relationship was always platonic, Will admits he was a little resentful towards the Changes icon when they were first introduced by the actress.

Asked if he was ever jealous of Tupac, the 51 year old told New York radio show The Breakfast Club, “F##k yeah. That was in the early days. That was a big regret for me, too, because I could never open up to interact with Pac.”

Will explains he always felt Jada and Tupac’s friendship may have turned romantic had he not already been involved with his “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” co-star, who was in her early 20s when they first met in 1994.

“They never had a sexual relationship, but now they had come into that age where that was a possibility, and Jada was with me,” he shared.

“She just loved him,” Will added of how Jada’s admiration for her best friend drove a wedge between the two men in her life.

“He was the image of perfection, but she was with the ‘Fresh Prince,’ so it was, like, we were in the room together a couple times, (but) I couldn’t speak to him. He wasn’t going to speak to me if I wasn’t going to speak to him.

“That was a huge regret of mine,” he confessed. “I couldn’t handle it.”

Any chance Will may have had of mending his relationship with Tupac was cut short when the rapper was killed in 1996.

He and Jada went on to wed in 1997
