(AllHipHop News) “All you n*ggas that said that I turned pop or The Firm flopped, y’all are the reason that Dre ain’t been getting no sleep,” rapped Andre “Dr. Dre” Young on “Forgot About Dre.” The Aftermath Entertainment head had a point to prove on the 1999 album 2001.

The body of work arrived after some naysayers questioned if Dre had reached his peak with The Chronic seven years earlier. On the contrary, the former N.W.A member’s 2001 demonstrated that he was still one of the most prolific producers in the music industry.

Dr. Dre and his longtime business partner, Jimmy Iovine, reflected on 2001 in a new 7-minute video released via Apple Music. The Making Of A Classic features the two moguls discussing Dre’s creative process, discovering Eminem, choosing singles, and Jay-Z writing the lyrics for the “Still D.R.E.” track.

2001 includes contributions from Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Xzibit, Kurupt, Mary J. Blige, Knoc-turn’al, and other artists. The LP has been praised as one of the greatest rap releases of all time, and it is certified 6x-platinum by the RIAA.

(AllHipHop News) Puma Hoops linked with J. Cole’s Dreamville Records for a special edition of the Clyde Hardwood basketball silhouette. The two brands previously worked together on the PUMA x Dreamville Clyde ROTD3 which debuted at the Day N Vegas festival earlier this month.

Jay-Z’s Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Raises $6 Million For Education Initiatives

(AllHipHop News) The stars were out for the inaugural Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend. Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and his mother Gloria Carter hosted the charity event in Hollywood, Florida. Photos from the gala spread across social media over the last several days. 

Beyoncé, Meek Mill, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Tyler Perry, Robin Roberts, and other celebrities showed up to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Thanks to the people in attendance and remote bidders for the online auction, the Shawn Carter Foundation collected a hefty sum from donors.

“Tonight, the Shawn Carter Foundation Gala raised $6 million towards funding post-secondary educational opportunities for future scholars. Thank you to all patrons and supporters for this successful night. #SCFGala,” read a tweet from the organization’s official Twitter account. 

An invitation-only High Roller Blackjack Tournament was held on November 15. The next day featured Keys headlining a concert at the Black Tie philanthropic function. All proceeds from the Gala Weekend will benefit SCF’s scholarship fund, college prep workshops and bus tours, study abroad opportunities, and community goodwill programs for youth and families in need.

“Equipping our youth with the tools to succeed will always be a priority for me and my family. I’m looking forward to continuing that mission at this year’s Shawn Carter Foundation Gala Weekend, where we’ll celebrate our scholars and continue to support young people in a meaningful way,” said Jay-Z prior to the SCF Gala.

Royce Da 5’9”’s “Black Savage” Selected For NFL’s “Songs Of The Season” Series

(AllHipHop News) While the NFL is still engulfed in the Colin Kaepernick controversy, the league is moving forward with its “Songs of the Season” series. Hip Hop artist Royce da 5’9”’s “Black Savage” is the latest track chosen for the Inspire Change initiative.

“I’m honored to have ‘Black Savage’ be selected for Inspire Change and the Songs of the Season,” said Royce. “Music has always been a form of expression for me, so for someone to tell me my music inspires them, that means everything to me.”

The NFL will use “Black Savage” throughout the season in broadcasts, pre-game shows, post-game highlights, and digital streaming platforms. All revenue generated from “Songs of the Season” will support NFL Inspire Change grant recipients with priority areas of education and economic advancement, police and community relations, and criminal justice reform.

Royce’s new record also serves as the lead single from the Detroit emcee’s upcoming eighth solo studio album. His discography already consists of solo LPs like 2018’s Book of Ryan as well as collaborative efforts from Bad Meets Evil, PRhyme, and Slaughterhouse.

In September, SASH’s “What Would a Champion Do?” was the first release as part of the NFL’s “Songs of the Season.” The 19-year-old New Yorker stated, “I’ve been inspired by music all my life, and the reason I make music is to inspire others. Having the opportunity through Inspire Change to give back to the community with my music is a really special thing.”

Kanye West Announces Sunday Service Opera ‘Nebuchadnezzar’

(AllHipHop News) With his Jesus Is King album slipping another four spots on the Billboard 200 chart this week, Kanye West seems ready to move his artistic energy in another direction. His next endeavor will apparently be an opera.

Ye made the announcement on Twitter. On Sunday evening, he posted a photo of a golden invitation for the Vanessa Beecroft-directed Nebuchadnezzar. According to the tweet, the production will include music with Sunday Service, Peter Colins, and Infinities Song.

Nebuchadnezzar is scheduled for November 24 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. The invite artwork was designed by Nick Knight.

(AllHipHop News) The 2019 BET Soul Train Awards aired last night (November 17) from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. Several rappers and singers hit the stage to entertain the crowd.

Wale was joined by Jeremih and Kelly Price for “On Chill” and “Sue Me.” EarthGang and Tiana Major9 ran through their Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack song “Collide.” 

Boyz II Men, Yolanda Adams, K. Michelle, SiR, Queen Naija, Pink Sweat$, and more acts also performed at the ceremony. Plus, Keyshia Cole, Le’Andria Johnson, Anthony Hamilton, and Carl Thomas took part in the Soul Cypher.

(AllHipHop News) Ja Rule can breathe a sigh of relief.

The Queens, New York rapper has officially been dismissed from a $100 million civil lawsuit fans filed over the infamous Fyre Festival.

Power attorney Mark Geragos is representing scorned attendees who filed the class-action lawsuit against the Fyre Festival’s imprisoned founder Billy McFarland and several other executives.

Ja Rule was also named in the lawsuit, although he was dropped from the legal action in July of 2019.

But Ja Rule, real name Jeffery Atkins, came under the microscope again in October.

Lawyers for Geragos’ firm filed an amended complaint in an attempt to have Ja Rule re-added to the class action lawsuit, over allegations he had advance knowledge the Fyre Festival was going to be a flop.

Last week, a judge sided with Ja Rule and finally blocked any further attempt to go after the rap star.

“This Court rejected plaintiffs’ conclusory assertions that they relied on defendants’ representations about the Festival as insufficient to state a claim for fraud,” Judge P. Kevin Castel ruled. “In the case of Atkins, plaintiffs alleged an actionable false statement, but failed to allege that they acted in reliance thereon.”

Ja Rule’s lawyer Ryan Hayden Smith issued a statement to AllHipHop.com regarding the failed attempt to wrangle the hip-hop artist back into the lawsuit.

“This ruling is nothing short of a total vindication of Mr. Atkins,” Ja Rule’s lawyer Ryan Hayden Smith told AllHipHop.com.

Rapper Succeed Phlyguy Murdered Through Pizza Delivery Scam

(AllHipHop News) Police in Henderson, Nevada have finally apprehended a man involved in the senseless killing of rapper Succeed Phlyguy.

Succeed Phlyguy, real name, Ronnie Cravens Jr., was shot and killed during a home invasion on October 12th.

According to the cops, a man named Angell Cordero Fernandez surprised the rapper by obtaining access through his home’s garage and simply ringing the doorbell.

Once someone answered the door, Fernandez barged inside and attempted to rob Succeed Phlyguy and his roommates.

A shootout followed, and Succeed Phlyguy was hit and killed in the crossfire.

But investigators say the home invasion was well-planned out over the course of several days.

Fernandez used a dummy number to text message the rapper with offers of free pizzas two different times in the days leading up to the murder.

Surveillance footage captured the home invasion and Fernandez made the blunder of momentarily exposing his face during the robbery.

Fernandez managed to scurry away with Succeed Phlyguy’s diamond chain and his Rolex watch.

According to News3 Las Vegas, the getaway car Fernandez drove to commit the home invasion/murder was easily traceable, because it was registered to his wife.

Angell Cordero Fernandez is facing a litany of charges, including Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, Attempted Murder and Open Murder.

Lizzo To Make Her Debut In Australia

The Detroit-born, Houston-raised recording artist has had a standout year with hit singles “Juice” and “Truth Hurts,” two anthems that have every female in the world singing along with confidence.

Now, news has been announced that Lizzo, real name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, will be making her debut in Australia for the first time.

These shows overseas will be part of her touring FOMO Festival and will be standalone concerts in both Sydney and Melbourne.

Lizzo will be taking the main stage at two of Australia’s most iconic venues: The Forum in Melbourne and Sydney Opera House in Sydney.

Also, she’ll be stopping in Brisbane, Adelaide, and Auckland as well.

Fans can purchase tickets next week when they go on sale on Tuesday, November 19th at 9 am for Melbourne residents, and Thursday, November 21st at 12 pm for Sydney folks.

Kanye West Is Building An Amphitheater Known As “The West Meditation Space”

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West is plotting to build a massive amphitheater on his ranch in Wyoming.

Back in September, the rapper’s wife Kim Kardashian revealed the star had bought the sprawling property, known as Monster Lake Ranch, and was keen to relocate his family from Calabasas, California.

While Kim later told her husband the move would have to be put on hold while she studied for her legal bar exam, which she is planning to take in 2024 in Los Angeles, the Jesus Is King hitmaker is moving forward with his plans and has begun building work.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, he wants to build a 70,684-square-foot amphitheater, with photos of the site showing he’s already cleared an area for development.

In his filing, the “Gold Digger” musician describes the facility as the “West Meditation Space Large Impact Structure,” and states the facility will be open-air.

The amphitheater will be a circular, concrete design with the ground sloping downhill towards the centre of the circle – similar to the layout of his Sunday Service gospel gatherings, which he took to Coachella in a similar setting.

In his application, Kanye writes he does not intend to bring any utilities on the property – and there will be no electricity or plumbing.

Officials from the Park County Planning and Zoning Department have informed the star he’ll have to construct 175 parking spaces, but the state says he could get an exemption to reduce that number in half.

Authorities are also reportedly considering the impact construction would have on local wildlife, with officials suggesting he avoid construction in winter months because it would disrupt the migration patterns of local wildlife.

The rapper finally made it to the country for a performance in the country’s capital of Riyadh on Friday.

But his touchdown in the country has already been marred with controversy after someone threw a bra on the stage in the middle of his show.

Russ was captured picking up the woman’s undergarment, and gleefully swinging it around.

Russ’ behavior would not even make headlines in the United States, but Saudi Arabia is notoriously conservative.

In fact, the country’s oppression of women made headlines around the world just last month.

At the end of October, police in Riyadh arrested a woman for showing off her hip-hop dance moves during a mixed-gender festival called “Riyadh Season.”

American artists like Alicia Keys, French Montana, Pit Bull, Bruno Mars, and others are providing the soundtrack for the festival, which took place during the ongoing festival, which started in October and doesn’t end until December 15.

In July, rap star Nicki Minaj decided to back out of a gig at the Jeddah World Fest in Jeddah because of the kingdom’s track record of human rights abuses, as well as its treatment of women and gays.

As for Russ, footage of the rapper twirling the bra at his concert has already sparked a heated debate on Twitter while the local media is condemning the bra-swinging incident.

Lil Jon Arrested For Traveling With Too Much Jewelry In Vietnam

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Jon could have easily ended up on an episode of “Locked Up Abroad” in Vietnam over the weekend.

The superstar Atlanta rapper ran into major problems at Tan Son Nhat International Airport after a performance in Saigon on Friday.

As Lil Jon was attempting to leave Vietnam, he ran into issues because he was traveling with so much jewelry that it alarmed local TSA agents.

Lil Jon, real name Jonathan Smith, posted footage of his problems with TSA to his Instagram account.

Tay-K 47 Indicted For Capital Murder Over Second Murder

(AllHipHop News) Things aren’t looking good for Tay-K 47.

The Texas rapper was already sentenced to 55 years in prison for murdering 23-year-old Mark Saldivar.

Now, he has officially been indicted on a capital murder charge which took place at a Chic-fil-A in San Antonio.

Tay-K 47 was charged with shooting and killing Mark Anthony Saldivar during the robbery, which took place in April 2017.

Tay-K 47, real name Taymor McIntyre, was just 16-years-old during the time of that shooting.

The incident happened when he was on house arrest in Tarrant County for his role in another murder, which took place during a home invasion.

The rapper eventually cut off his ankle monitor and fled to San Antonio. While he was on the run, Tay-K allegedly murdered Saldivar and became the target of a national manhunt.

During his escape, Tay-K unleashed a song titled “The Race” and posed in front of his Wanted poster.

In July, Tay-K 47 was sentenced to 55 years in prison and fined $10,000 for conspiring to rob and kill 21-year-old named Ethan Walker, of Fort Worth.

Unfortunately for Tay-K 47, the indictment means prosecutors can seek the death penalty against the rapper. 

DMX Returning To The Big Screen With Steven Seagal In New Action Thriller

(AllHipHop News) DMX is about to take on one of the biggest acting roles of his career.

The Ruff Ryders rapper will be starring in a new movie titled “Beyond the Law,” alongside Johnny Messner and Steven Seagal.

Cinedigm just dropped the official trailer for the action crime thriller, the latest movie by famed horror producer and filmmaker James Cullen Bressack.

The plot of “Beyond the Law” centers around a man’s quest for justice within a corrupt city. When a former detective finds out about the murder of his estranged son, he returns to his roots in the darkened streets he used to run.

With nothing to lose, he takes on a local mob during his mission for revenge.

The movie also stars Zack Ward from “Transformers,” Chester Rushing from “Stranger Things,” and Bill Cobbs from “Demolition Man,” who round out the cast.

This isn’t the first time DMX and Steven Seagal starred alongside each other, revisiting their success in the 2001 action blockbuster “Exit Wounds.”

Is Jay-Z Mad At Colin Kaepernick Over NFL Try-Out?

Now there were rumors that Jay-Z helped get Colin Kaepernick a tryout look with the NFL. Some believed it and others thought it was just some PR stunt by the league. Either way, I thought it was a good step towards some resolution. All of the teams in the league were to be represented on Saturday, November 16, 2019 – in the year of our Lord. Suddenly, without warning, at the last minute…Kap called an audible. He changed the location of the workout about an hour before it all went down. Not only did he change the location, but it was also moved about 60 miles away. The Kaepernick team also pushed back the time for an hour to give the NFL scouts time to get out to the new location. 

About 6-7 teams ended up making it to the new workout, which lasted for about 40 minutes. Initially, there were 25 squads confirmed for the original location. I have to say….this was bizarre. I will say no more about it personally. Kap told reporters, “I’ve been ready for three years. I’ve been denied for three years. We are waiting for the 32 owners, 32 teams and Roger Goodell [the NFL Commissioner] to stop running. Stop running from the truth, stop running from the people.”I will stick to the rumors.

The rumor is that Jay-Z is upset about the way things turned out. I could be some sort of new nut, but the only way I can see this emotion coming over Jigga is if he actually did “stick his neck out” for Kappy. If he did and then Kap…made it hard for the NFL reps to get there, well then…that was not in the plan. Right now, Jay and his crew are all in Florida somewhere having a great time in the name of giving back for The Shawn Carter Foundation Gala at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. He may or may not care about Kap at the moment, but I am thinking this matters. 

Stephen A. Smith offered his couple of cents and he really…lets loose.

 Kap and the League had a disagreement over some of the particulars about the workout. Seems like Kap wanted it open for all to see and the league wanted some restrictions. Below is some of what transpired over social media.

Here are Kaepernick’s exact words. through his reps: 

“From the outset, Mr. Kaepernick requested a legitimate process and from the outset the NFL league office has not provided one. Most recently, the NFL has demanded that as a precondition to the workout, Mr. Kaepernick sign an unusual liability waiver that addresses employment-related issues and rejected the standard liability waiver from physical injury proposed by Mr. Kaepernick’s representatives.

“Additionally, Mr. Kaepernick requested all media be allowed into the workout to observe and film it and for an independent film crew to be there to ensure transparency. The NFL denied this request. Based on the prior conduct by the league office, Mr. Kaepernick simply asks for a transparent and open process which is why a new location has been selected for today. Mr. Kaepernick looks forward to seeing the representatives from the clubs today.”

The only silver lining is technology. I believe all of the teams will be sent copies of the workout. I don’t see this working out…ever. 

SIGNS: Fights And Killings Over Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Continue!

(AllHipHop Rumors) People and Popeyes. I am proud to say I have not had this famous and potentially deadly chicken sandwich. I am not sure what is in this sandwich, but I am starting to think it is crack cocaine. Why? There have been fights in every form imaginable to the point where people are fighting each other as if this were some exquisite cuisine. 

Look at this video? A woman filmed a couple fighting each other. Now the pair were waiting in line for over one hour and they were getting frustrated. And Popeyes is to blame here too because they messed up a man’s order and he refused to get out of line. Well, this upset the second pair of people. AND ALL HELL BROKE LOOSE! The good part of this mess is that the woman that taped the mess also offered some very colorful commentary as well. Check it:

One man has been arrested for it too. He decided to stab somebody DEAD over it. I might just go get me some crack!

He didn’t hold back…he literally slammed her like Hulk Hogan of Stone Cold Steve Austin. He broke bones in her body! 

We Know Why Lil Reese Was Shot…MONEY!

Thankfully, Lil Reese didn’t die when that bullet struck him and he was released back into the wild. But we really didn’t quite realize why he was shot and nearly murdered. We have our suspicions know. 

Apparently, an unnamed rapper paid Lil Reese $20,000 for a verse (WOW!), but the Chicago rapper allegedly did not send his Pro Tools session back! Well, we now live in a world where people are being stabbed over Popeye’s chicken sandwiches. We know they are not going to have a problem with firing 12 rounds at you over $20K! Like the Feds and AR-AB, the alleged attempted murderer-slash-rapper, he looked at Reese’s social media to locate him. And when he found out…

BRO…I would not want to be a part of ANY of this! I am scared to even THINK about crossing somebody from the streets I owe 20 Long! Salute all of them for being soldiers. I am not sure how hard it is for Lil Reese to rap, but for a few Buck – like $2-$3 grand – I will write a verse for him! Just Pay Pal me! Anyway!

I hope this supposed rapper that paid that money gets what he needs – money back or a verse! As long as it ain’t a body named Lil Reese!

(AllHipHop News) Memphis rapper Yo Gotti has managed to negotiate a settlement to hold onto a huge chunk of his vast fortune.

In June of 2019, a judge in South Carolina ordered Yo Gotti to pay $6.6 million to a record label called Stack Money Empire, over an artist named Young Fletcher.

Stack Money Empire won a default judgment against Yo Gotti after the company paid the rapper $20,000 to get an exclusive verse for Young Fletcher.

Stack Money Empire said their dream of a feature with Yo Gotti crumbled because the rap star allegedly deliberately refused to sign paperwork to allow Young Fletcher to release the verse.

The rapper also accused Yo Gotti of using the same lyrics for a different song, which wrecked his odds of success with his Yo Gotti collaboration.

Stack Money’s CEO Michael Terry also said Yo Gotti tried to steal Young Fletcher from him by offering the rapper a $150,000 with CMG.

Earlier this week, both parties managed to settle the high stakes lawsuit.

According to court records, Yo Gotti has already settled with Michael Terry. The two parties agreed to reach a financial settlement for an undisclosed amount.

Young Fletcher even managed to get his song out of Yo Gotti according to his lawyer Clarke Dummit.

“He’s excited about the settlement and he’s releasing a new song featuring Yo Gotti called ‘Truth Be Told,’” Dummit told the Winston-Salem Journal. “It is due to drop in the next 10 days.”

We Know How The Feds “Caught” AR-AB!

(AllHipHop Rumors) We know the Feds have a conviction rate somewhere around 95%, which is remarkably high. I never really ever knew HOW they did that, aside from knowing that they follow and watch people for a long time. Well, there are a few ways to  get close to somebody. In the case of AR-AB, they reported did the previously unheard of (to me). 

The Federali reportedly moved in the apartment upstairs from the well-regarded Philly rapper in order to get the intel they needed to put him in jail. They charge that AR-AB was selling drugs in large amounts in his Philly pad. Last October (2018), AR was arrested for allegedly running an organization that happened to move lots of cocaine, crack, methamphetamine, and heroin. Our boy AR-AB has not been convicted of anything yet so he is still innocent in the law.

But, their willingness to be patient will increase their chances of winning against a few Philly dudes. As you know, last week they arrested Dark Lo and charged him with witness tampering. In court, one of the witnesses was so scared of Dark Lo that he would not sit in the room if the rapper was there! That’s what I heard. 

Oh, one last thing you rappers should know is that the FEDS relentlessly looked at social media “24/7” for information to use against all of these guys. Don’t think for a second that your little disclaimer “this is not real” is working! 

Lizzo’s Facing A Lawsuit For Getting Furious Over Botched Food Delivery

(AllHipHop News) Lizzo probably didn’t realize an angry tweet over some food when she was hungry would land her in a complicated lawsuit.

The “Truth Hurts” rapper aired out her Postmates delivery driver when she didn’t get the food she ordered in September of 2017.

In the tweet, Lizzo called out the driver’s name, stating “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. sole my food she lucky I don’t fight no more,” with a photo of Tiffany’s face.

Now, Tiffany is going after Lizzo, real name Melissa Jefferson in court.

Since then, Tiffany says she has received threats and is now concerned for her safety.

In fact, Tiffany left Postmates because of that very incident.

TMZ reports Tiffany Wells is suing Lizzo for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

After the incident, Lizzo claimed she was at fault and that Tiffany did nothing wrong.

Tiffany claims she went above and beyond to try to find Lizzo in the hotel to try to deliver the food, but came up short. Tiffany said Postmates sided with her in the situation.

This has caused Tiffany Wells much stress, anxiety, and embarrassment so she is suing for an undisclosed amount.

Damn, Lizzo!
