Bryson Tiller Taps SZA For European Leg Of “Set It Off” Tour

(AllHipHop News) Two of the brightest stars in R&B at the moment will share stages overseas.

Bryson Tiller and SZA are heading out together on the European leg of the “Set It Off” Tour starting in October.

The Tiller headlining trek will include stops in France, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom, and more.

Pen Griffey returned with his sophomore effort True to Self in May.

The project earned Tiller his first #1 album on the Billboard 200 chart.

He’s also featured on the #3 song in the country – DJ Khaled’s “Wild Thoughts” with Rihanna.

Last month, SZA released her debut studio album Ctrl to critical acclaim.

Could Jay-Z Be Ready To Sign Azealia Banks?

Iggy Azalea Claims Def Jam Refuses To Release More Singles From Her ‘Digital Distortion’ Album

(AllHipHop News) What a difference three years make.

Back in 2014, Iggy Azalea released her debut album The New Classic which hosted the #1 single “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX.

Now Iggy is letting her fans know that her label is done releasing singles from the proposed Digital Distortion follow-up project.

“[Def Jam CEO] Steve Bartels says he doesn’t want to release another single for my album unfortunately… So that’s that,” tweeted the Australian rapper.

Azalea added, “Sucks – savior is great. im very disappointed that’s their decision.”

While Digital Distortion has repeatedly been pushed back, Iggy insists the collection will be available at some point in the future.

“I’m very unhappy with the way things have been handled too. I will make sure it’s not this way for ia3… I can assure you guys of that,” posted Azalea. “My album isn’t canceled, it’s just not having another single. It’s still being released.”

Over the last year, the 2012 XXL Freshman Class member dropped the singles “Team,” “Mo Bounce,” and “Switch.”

Iggy Azalea and her onetime rival Azealia Banks are reportedly working on music together.

“I dont expect you guys to understand why i would collaborate with someone who has publicly said they hope i die,” Iggy offered to her 7.6 million Twitter followers about collaborating with Banks. “This has been something extremely negative for so long, if there is a way to make it positive and also be creative together, im here for it.”

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN’ Remains In The Top 3 Of The Billboard 200 For 12th Straight Week

(AllHipHop News) After leading the Billboard 200 for three weeks, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN continues to be one of the most popular albums in the country.

The Top Dawg Entertainment release debuted at #1 on the chart the week ending April 20.

Since that time, DAMN has yet to fall below #3 on the list.

That means the critically acclaimed album has spent 12 straight weeks in the Top 3.

Since DAMN‘s last week in the lead, eight different artists have topped the Billboard 200.

Lamar first slipped to the third spot (134,000 units) the week ending May 11 when Logic’s Everybody (247,000 units) and Chris Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume 1 (219,000 units) opened at #1 and #2, respectively.

DAMN (56,000 units) currently sits at #3 behind DJ Khaled’s Grateful (70,000 unit) and Calvin Harris’ Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1 (68,000 units).

According to Nielsen Music, K. Dot’s fourth studio LP collected the most sales plus streaming units in the first six months of 2017 (1,772,000).

Lamar is followed by Ed Sheeran’s ÷ (1,749,000 units) and Drake’s More Life  (1,693,000) in the mid-year report.

JAY-Z Announces Nationwide “4:44 Tour”

(AllHipHop News) Over the weekend, Roc Nation, Tidal, and Sprint hinted that yet another surprise was coming from JAY-Z.

The three companies tweeted out an image featuring the words “4:44” and a bar code.

Today (July 10), word got out that Hov is headed on the road this fall and winter.

JAY will support his new 4:44 album with a nationwide tour beginning October 27 in Anaheim, California.

The trek will wrap up on December 21 in Los Angeles, California.

Starting at 12:00 pm ET on July 10, Tidal members will have access to special presale tickets at sprint.TIDAL.com.

Citi cardmembers will also have access to purchase U.S. presale tickets beginning Monday, July 10 at 12:00 pm ET until Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 pm at citiprivatepass.com.

General public tickets go on sale at 10 am local time on Friday, July 14 at livenation.com.

In addition to the “4:44 Tour,” fans can catch JAY-Z in September at Philadelphia’s Budweiser Made In America Festival and New York City’s The Meadows Music & Arts Festival.

4:44 was released as a Tidal/Sprint exclusive on June 30.

The Brooklyn emcee’s 13th solo LP has been praised by professional critics, and it’s been certified platinum by the RIAA.

Blac Chyna Speaks With ‘Good Morning America’ About Rob Kardashian Posting Her Nude Photos (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) The latest Blac Chyna/Rob Kardashian drama is entering its second week.

On July 5, Kardashian began ranting about Chyna on Instagram and Twitter.

The social media posts included the reality show star posting nude photographs of his former fiancée.

Chyna and her lawyer Lisa Bloom sat down for an interview with Good Morning America to talk about her potential legal actions.

Bloom, on behalf of her client, filed a temporary restraining order against Kardashian.

“In California, ‘revenge p###’ is a crime, a civil wrong, and a form of domestic abuse,” said the attorney.

Chyna was asked for her reaction when she learned Kardashian uploaded her naked pics to the internet.

“I was devastated, of course. I’m like how could somebody like post these pictures of me,” replied Chyna. “I’m like this is a person I trusted. I just felt… betrayed.”

According to Chyna, no one from the Kardashian family has reached out to her since Rob exposed the photos.

Kim Kardashian and Blac Chyna were once close friends.

At one time, Tyga – Chyna’s ex-boyfriend and father of her son – dated Kim and Rob’s younger sister Kylie Jenner.

Rumors circulated online that Chyna having a child with Rob was a revenge plot against Kim, Tyga, Kylie, and the rest of the Kardashian clan.

“That’s not even my character. I see all these things on the internet and I never address it, because I’m the bigger person,” stated Chyna. “Robert came at me.”

She added, “I was already Blac Chyna before the Kardashians.”

Chyna claimed she and Rob broke up in December, and she sent him a vid of herself with another man in hopes that Kardashian would leave her alone.

The video vixen also defended her right to share explicit pictures of herself without someone else being able to post private sexual images of her.

LL Cool J Is Looking To Help Troubled ‘In The House’ Co-Star Maia Campbell

During a 2012 episode of OWN’s Iyanla: Fix My Life, Campbell revealed she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

The former In The House actress also battled drug abuse and spent time in jail.

Campbell’s unfortunate troubles were documented online.

Recently, a video of her asking a man at a gas station for crack cocaine went viral.

LL Cool J is now looking to help his In The House co-star.

“Instead of pulling out your phone and filming someone who’s obviously having trouble. Maybe lend a helping hand? A kind word?” LL tweeted.

According to Baller Alert, the Hip Hop legend also posted online, “If someone has contact on Maia [please] let me know.”

Sales Predictions For JAY-Z’s ‘4:44’ Album Are In

(AllHipHop News) JAY-Z owns the record for most platinum albums by a rapper with 17.

The Tidal owner’s new 4:44 LP was certified platinum last week, just days after its release on June 30.

JAY is also the leader for the most Billboard 200 #1 albums by a solo artist.

It appears he’s about to earn a 14th chart leader to extend his record.

According to HitsDailyDouble, 4:44 is on pace to collect 250,000 – 275,000 sales plus streaming units (150,000 – 175,000 traditional sales) in its first full week of wide release.

That total should be enough to get JAY back to #1 on next week’s Billboard 200.

4:44 debuted as a Tidal/Sprint exclusive, but it became available on other streaming services (except Spotify) last Friday.

Hov’s 13th solo album also became accessible on iTunes, Amazon, and other retailers in week two.

Sprint provided access to a free download of the project, and Tidal did not report the first-week streams for 4:44.

As a result, the chart units for its first week were not able to be calculated.

JAY-Z only trails The Beatles on the list of most career #1 albums.

The legendary rock band has 19 Billboard 200 toppers.

DJ Khaled’s ‘Grateful’ Spends Second Week At #1 On Billboard 200 Chart

(AllHipHop News) DJ Khaled’s reign atop of the Billboard 200 chart continues for the second week.

Grateful earned another 70,000 equivalent album units in week two of its release.

Khaled became the seventh act to spend more than one week at #1 on the chart in 2017 and the first in seven weeks to return to the top spot.

The We The Best leader is just the fourth Hip Hop artist to serve as a multi-week Billboard 200 chart topper this year.

Drake’s More Life spent three weeks in the pole position in April.

A month later, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN also topped the tally for three weeks.

Future made history when his FUTURE and HNDRXX albums hit #1 in back-to-back weeks in March.

Kool G Rap Escapes Shooting In Oslo, Norway

(AllHipHop News)Rap legend Kool G Rap narrowly avoiding being involved in a shooting in Norway over the weekend.

The rapper was performing at a venue called Blue, in Oslo.

Shortly after G Rap finished up his set and left the venue, a gunman opened fire and shot two bouncers and two patrons.

Police eventually arrested a 20-year-old suspect in the shooting.

The victims were taken to local hospitals, where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Reps for the rapper confirmed G Rap was gone, and did not witness the shooting.

Amber Rose Says Her V##### and Rob Kardashian Have Exposed Men’s Double Standards

(AllHipHop News) Amber Rose has condemned men’s shaming of women who fail to live up to their standards of beauty or behavior.

The model and TV personality, 33, hit the headlines last month when she posted a picture showing her unshaven private parts on Instagram and Twitter.

In a new interview the star told American website Refinery29 that the reaction to her posting the image has shown the double standards as to how men and women are treated.

“I feel like as women, we always feel like we need to shave or wax – and if we don’t, then we’re considered unkempt or unclean or we’re gonna smell funny,” she explained. “I believe that it’s natural and we shouldn’t be ashamed of it.”

The star also slammed the way women who have revealing images leaked, like her friend Blac Chyna, are treated compared to those who choose to embrace their sexuality.

“People are very uncomfortable with the female body,” Amber adds. “It’s ok to leak images onto the Internet and people are like, ‘Yeah, that’s so cool.’ But if you actually do it yourself and in a way that’s owning your own sexuality, it’s almost taboo.”

Intimate pictures of Chyna were posted on Instagram by her ex-fiance Rob Kardashian on Wednesday, and Rob could face prosecution under California’s laws outlawing “revenge p###.”

Amber, who in October will host her third annual ‘SlutWalk’ event promoting feminism, says the double standards that allow men to shame women have to end, adding, “Men feel like they can do whatever, and show their bodies off constantly, but we can’t – that’s bulls**t.”

She adds, “The fact that there are double standards, that women are not allowed to own their sexuality and their bodies. We can’t possibly be sexually confident, because then we’re w#####. We’re not allowed to have a past. We’re incapable of love if we’re too beautiful or if we’re too successful. It’s all really, really f**ked up.”

Tyga Stays Focused On His Son During Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian’s Epic Meltdown

(AllHipHop News) Tyga is doing his utmost to distance himself from the feud between his ex Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian, insisting his main priority is son King Cairo.

The rapper was an unwilling participant in Rob’s social media tirade against his baby mama when he accused her of getting pregnant with daughter Dream to spite Tyga, the father of her four-year-old son King, in revenge for his relationship with Rob’s younger sister Kylie.

“My daughter is the best thing that happened to me and she will know that Chyna did this out of spite not love cuz (sic) she mad my little sister took her baby daddy,” Rob wrote on Instagram in a since-deleted post. “Thank u God and my Dad for watching down on me and showing me this.”

He then added: “Soon as kylie and tyga broke up Chyna was over the game. She had a baby out of spite and I’ll never view her the same. I truly thought Chyna wanted to be a family and that’s why I was so loyal to her but I learned my lesson and everyone else was right.”

Tyga was stopped by reporters from gossip website TMZ.com as he made his way through Los Angeles’ LAX airport, and asked for his feelings on the feud.

While he did his best to stay quiet, the look on the rapper’s face said it all. However, he insisted he is doing his best to focus entirely on King and his professional pursuits.

“I’m dropping a new project on July 21st,” he said. “I’m just focused. Taking care of my business and taking care of my son. You feel me?”

TLC Says Left Eye’s Family Is Hating and Blocking Vocals For New Album

(AllHipHop News) TLC were reportedly banned from using late bandmate Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ music on their new album.

The group released TLC last month, but Left Eye, who passed away in 2002, was only featured on the record in an interlude and on previous songs, which were remastered for the new album.

According to Chilli, real name Rozonda Thomas, the group wanted to use some of the music she was working on before she passed away, but her family wouldn’t allow it.

“She does have some other raps her family are holding hostage, they won’t let us use them unless we pay money, it’s just crazy,” she tells CNET.com. “The other music she was doing before she passed away was more of a poetic vibe.”

“When we finished the 3D album (in 2002) we got all the stuff we could possibly get that would match what we were talking about at that time and used it,” she adds. “We couldn’t use anything else because it didn’t match. So we used that interview (sound bite) on the interlude; it’s the essence of Lisa.”

Despite the difficulties Chilli and bandmate T-Boz experienced while making the new album, she insists it was worth it to pay tribute to Left Eye.

“It is what it is,” she says. “It doesn’t stop us from making sure we honor our sister.”

In 2015, after a 15-year hiatus, T-Boz and Chilli returned to touring as a duo, swearing never to replace their third member.

“From day one, we realized that no one was replaceable,” Chilli told The Sun last month (Jun17). “If somebody left we would have to figure it out, but no one else could be in the group. We had this chemistry.

“It has been a long time since we lost Lisa and we’ve continued to tour so we’ve have gotten used to the two of us.”

Author Of Hit Book Wants Drake For TV Adaptation

(AllHipHop News) Author Margaret Atwood is hoping to persuade Drake to return to his acting roots for a guest appearance in the TV adaptation of her bestselling novel “The Handmaid’s Tale.”

Former “Mad Men” star Elisabeth Moss leads the cast in the dystopian drama series, which is based in a fictional former U.S., where women are stripped of their basic human rights.

Atwood is intrigued by the idea of finding a part suitable for the Toronto native in the planned second season, suggesting he could play one of the refugee aids helping to get people out of Gilead and across the border into the safe haven of his native Canada.

“Wouldn’t it be fun for him to have a cameo in Season Two of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale?’” she posed to the Boston Review. “I’ll drop that notion into the ear of Bruce Miller, the showrunner, and see what he can do with that, because of course the show is filmed in Toronto.”

“Maybe Drake could help smuggle someone?” the 77-year-old smiled.

The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker has yet to respond to the casting proposal, but the rapper, fully name Aubrey Drake Graham, initially rose to fame as a teen star on TV drama “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”

The 30-year-old has since put his comedy skills on show in various appearances on U.S. sketch series “Saturday Night Live,” and he has landed cameos in films like “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues” and “Think Like a Man Too.”

He also voiced the mammoth Ethan in 2012’s animated hit, Ice Age: Continental Drift.

Swizz Beatz and Bally Link For New Fashion Line

(AllHipHop News) Swizz Beatz is collaborating with Bally on a limited-edition collection.

The New York-born star began his music career as a DJ in the early 2000s, but has since gone to add rapper, music producer, and designer to his repertoire.

Beatz, real name Kasseem Dean, is also known for his eclectic personal style, and is now partnering with Swiss luxury fashion company Bally on a line.

Bally Collective will by “curated” by Beatz, and will feature a range of ready-to-wear garments and accessories, some of which will feature prints created by Spanish artist Ricardo Cavolo.

Bally chief executive Frederic De Narp stated that the collaboration celebrates modern fashion, but also harks back to the brand’s influence within the hip-hop world, with rappers such as Doug E. Fresh and Slick Rick being fans of the label back in the ’80s.

“We’ve been working tirelessly to clarify who Bally is and what we stand for over the past three years, and if we’ve learned anything, it’s that success is born from integrity,” he told Business of Fashion. “This partnership celebrates not only Bally’s passion for collaboration, but also brings back the electricity that you could feel in the ’80s and ’90s, connecting Bally with the urban world.”

Beatz’s involvement with Bally has stemmed from the No Commission project, which is an alliance between his The Dean Collection and Bacardi, which looks to support artists and “cultural visionaries” around the globe.

The “Money in the Bank” artist, who is married to singer Alicia Keys, has previously teamed with the likes of Christian Louboutin and Reebok on design projects.

Last month, he also made waves within the fashion world when he blasted Balenciaga bosses for using the logo he created for record label Ruff Ryders on men’s shirts which were presented at a fashion show in Paris.

Rap Group Migos Go Off On Delta Pilot and Get Kicked Off Flight

(AllHipHop News) Delta Airlines is being called out by hip-hop Migos, were kicked off of a flight earlier today (July 7).

The chart topping hip-hop group was in route to Des Moines, Iowa via Atlanta.

Quavo, Offset and Takeoff were sitting in first class, snoozing off, when a flight attendant asked Takeoff to put his book bag into an overhead bin.

A huge argument ensued when the flight attendant returned and saw the bag still on the floor.

According to TMZ, the pilot decided to taxi the plane back onto the runway and footage shows the group arguing with the pilot of the Delta flight, as they are escorted off.

The group claims the pilot racially profiled them in his quick decision to remove them from the flight.

The 8-minute, 30-second video features random interviews, archival news footage, viral social media clips, concert shots of Beyonce & JAY performing “Drunk In Love,” candid moments of Blue Ivy Carter, and more.

Hov’s extremely personal song “4:44” plays as the imagery’s soundtrack.

Previously, the Roc Nation head dropped an animated video for “The Story Of O.J.”

After debuting as a Tidal/Sprint exclusive, the 4:44 album is now available on Apple Music and iTunes.

The 10-track LP has already been certified platinum by the RIAA.
