(AllHipHop Rumors) It was all good for “Bad & Boujee”!
It’s a lot going on in these upside-down cross-wearing streets!
Lil Uzi Vert was already facing much criticism for his fashion choices, but now the rapper has also faced criticism from his rap peer Migos member Offset, for rocking an upside-down cross necklace.
“All y’all n-ggas wearing upside down crosses, even my little partners, stop that sh-t. You look lame. All that worship the devil sh-t. Get with God man,” said Offset.
Chicago rapper SahBabii decided to respond even before Lil Uzi had a chance to. SahBabii also made it clear that he practiced unknownism and not any form of devil worshipping.
“I showed these n-ggas respect now f-ck Migos! We ain’t goin for no disrespect. […] My cross gone stay upside down, y’all n-ggas donate $1000 to Washington but throw $10,000 in a club. I will beat yo ass,” he said.
Offset got XXXTentacion’s attention also as he responded by saying,
“By the way for those who don’t know what the upside-down cross stands for it’s nothing Satanic. Just so you know. Stop saying that; it’s not controversial.”
It didn’t end there though. Lil Uzi Vert posted an Instagram post that seemingly trolled Offset. Offset commented saying,
“I will pray for you my brother.”
Lil Uzi replied by saying,
“In trap church huh. Imma pray for you.”
What are your thoughts on the upside-down crosses?
Kid Ink released his “7 Series” EP last month and doesn’t seem to be slowing down, now following up with a new track titled “Nympho,” a remix to Julia Michaels’ record “Issues.” The L.A.-native couldn’t get the song out of his head so he decided to tap into his R&B side and give it his own spin.
(AllHipHop News) Media troll or marketing genius? The debate about LaVar Ball’s motives behind his eccentric actions is an ongoing pop culture discussion.
The father of likely NBA draft pick Lonzo Ball has become a lightning rod over controversial statements and endless self-promotion of his Big Baller Brand.
While LaVar has faced off with several sports talking heads on television, Ice Cube is calling him out on the court.
The Hip Hop legend posted a Twitter message where he challenges the former college basketball player to a four-point shot contest.
“Callin out [Lavar Ball] for [BIG3] #4pointchallenge! Make the 30ft shot and I’ll cop 10 pairs of #bigballerbrand,” tweeted Cube referring to Lonzo’s highly publicized $495 Zo2 Prime sneakers.
Last year, Ice Cube announced the creation of his BIG3 professional basketball league.
The 3-on-3 games will feature ex-NBA stars such as Allen Iverson, Charles Oakley, Jason Williams, Stephen Jackson, Kenyon Martin, Mike Bibby, and Rashard Lewis.
Iverson and Oakley will also work as coaches, along with Gary Payton, George Gervin, Julius Erving, Rick Mahorn, Rick Barry, and Clyde Drexler.
Week one of the BIG3 season is scheduled to begin June 25 at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.
(AllHipHop Features) While some fans beg for “real rap,” there are tons of talented rappers struggling to get on. Sometimes it’s about beat choice or subject matter, and sometimes it’s seemingly for no reason. And at a time when our youth needs positive direction more than ever, most mainstream rappers are glorifying money, hard drugs, and murder.
But beneath the slew of uninspired, cookie-cutter rap that clutters the mainstream lies a handful of diamonds. These 10 underground kings aren’t just dope lyricists, they use their platform to educate and motivate the people.
1 – Mick Jenkins
A lot of underrated artists are missing something—consistency, cohesive projects, good production—but not Mick Jenkins. His last two projects, The Water[s] and The Healing Component, were packed with nice bars, solid production, and meaningful content. And if that’s not enough, he intertwines uplifting themes into all of his music.
Rap has always struggled with gender equality, but not because there aren’t enough dope female MCs. TDE collaborator ill Camille is living proof that bars have no gender. Her last album Heirloom was a testament to her skill behind the mic, starting with a gritty track that could have lived in any of the past 3 decades.
3 – Mickey Factz
If you aren’t familiar with Mickey Factz, I feel bad for you. Although he doesn’t always turn heads, the Bronx rapper has built up a great catalog, punctuating it with his debut album The Achievement last fall. He’s currently working on the deluxe version of The Achievement and the second installment in his Mickey MauSe series.
4 – King Los
Whatever your favorite beat is, Los probably murdered it on a past mixtape. Kendrick said he had the best “Control” remix. But he still doesn’t get the credit he deserves, a problem which signing multiple deals with Bad Boy hasn’t helped. A solid album and 14 mixtapes give us plenty of good music, though, and his High Frequency mixtape is on the way.
5 – Nino Bless
Did you know Slaughterhouse almost had another member? His name is Nino Bless, and he’s been spitting absolutely mind-bending rhymes for the past 5 years. Nino defies the laws of rap, effortlessly skating over beats with a highly unorthodox flow and incredible bars that would have been an interesting fit for Slaughterhouse.
6 – Fashawn
In 2009, Fashawn dropped his critically acclaimed debut album, Boy Meets World. It took another six years before we heard a second album from the Fresno spitter, but it seems the demand for his music has all but disappeared. All in all, it was still a great album, and his upcoming album Manna should be more of the same.
7 – 3D Na’Tee
3D Na’Tee is hip-hop through and through. She grew up in the 3rd Ward of New Orleans where she began rapping at a young age and eventually established herself as a battle rapper. She even shot and edited her 2011 “Switch” video by herself. In 2016, she dropped her debut album, The Regime, a 23-song offering packed with bars.
8 – Jon Connor
The self-proclaimed People’s Rapper, Jon Connor looked to be breaking into the mainstream a while back when he dropped Unconscious State and was featured in both the XXL Freshman and BET cyphers. But four years later, the Flint native is still working on his sophomore album, and the buzz surrounding him seems to have died down a bit.
9 – Smoke DZA
Contrary to his name, Smoke DZA is more than a weed rapper. DZA started off with a more weed-influenced sound, but he’s quickly risen to a top-flight lyricist. Near the end of 2016, he dropped Don’t Smoke Rock with Pete Rock, a great album and a testament to the respect he gets within the game.
10 – Ab-Soul
When Control System had just dropped, some people argued that Ab-Soul was better than K. Dot (myself included). But when These Days… received mixed reviews and Soulo was all but absent for the next year, he lost some of his buzz. He looks to be back on track, though—his last album was dope and received positive reviews from those who cared enough to listen closely.
New York rapper Joell Ortiz has steadily been releasing new material for fans the past few months and keeps things going with a new HeatMakerz-produced joint titled “God Forbid.”
The Slaughterhouse lyricist reminds us that bars should still matter and how the game has changed since Hip-Hop’s golden days. Stream below.
Having already built a solid following in his home city of Chicago, 600Breezy was further catapulted into stardom after a feature on Drake’s recent project “More Life.” The co-sign and affiliation with OVO Sound couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, as 600Breezy is set to unveil his forthcoming mixtape, “Breezo George Gervin: Iceman Edition.” With all this buzz surrounding him, WSHH reached out and premiered his brand new visual, “Lou Rawls,” where he took his talents to South Beach.

The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter will be joined by 125 guests as he performs under the icecap at Secret Solstice’s “Into The Glacier”side party.

(AllHipHop News) The Hip Hop drama The Get Down has been canceled after just eleven episodes.
Netflix announced the 1970’s-set show will not return for a second season.
Series creator Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby) addressed the cancellation on Facebook.
“When I was asked to come to the center of The Get Down to help realize it, I had to defer a film directing commitment for at least two years,” wrote Luhrmann. “This exclusivity has understandably become a sticking point for Netflix and Sony, who have been tremendous partners and supporters of the show.”
He continued, “It kills me that I can’t split myself into two and make myself available to both productions. I feel so deeply connected to all those who I have worked and collaborated with on this remarkable experience.”
According to reports, The Get Down cost around $120 million to produce.
(AllHipHop News) A man was arrested for criminal trespassing at Rihanna’s apartment building in New York earlier this week.
A New York Police Department spokesperson confirmed to E! News that Salmir Feratovic, 33, was booked for criminal trespassing after being found at the building where Rihanna has a penthouse.
The spokesperson made no mention of the popstar but said Feratovic had visited the building before and had been told he was not allowed to return.
Feratovic had been arrested for criminal trespassing at the same location in May 2016, and has had multiple prior arrests, according to the site.
Rihanna moved to New York around 2013 after she suffered a number of break-ins and burglaries at her Californian mansion, and even had to file a restraining order against an alleged stalker.
However, she has still had problems in the Big Apple as a man was arrested for allegedly stalking and harassing her at her New York apartment in 2014.
(AllHipHop News) Quincy Jones has worked with iconic musicians like Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Sarah Vaughan, Michael Jackson, and more.
After a seven-decade career in the music industry, Jones still pays attention to contemporary artists.
The music legend recently held a star-studded event in Los Angeles where he gave a shout out to a few of today’s top stars.
During the session, Jones admitted he’s a fan of Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd and Bruno Mars, and although he’s worked with his share of iconic artists, there are a few he regrets never having made music with.
Kendrick actually sat down with Hypetrak magazine for an exclusive one-on-one discussion with Jones in 2015.
The 84-year-old instrumentalist has released over three dozen albums and produced numerous others.
His 1989 album Back on the Block won seven Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
Q’s Jook Joint from 1995 featured Hip Hop representatives Kid Capri, Funkmaster Flex, LL Cool J, Töne Löc, Queen Latifah, and Heavy D.
Jones was also the executive producer for Michael Jackson’s masterpiece Thriller.

Gushing about her rumored new man, Minaj said, “He’s so dope. He’s a king, he’s such a king… We’re both from Queens (New York). And he is the king of Queens, and I’d like to think I’m the queen of Queens…”
But she insisted she still isn’t ready to commit to a new romance after swearing off men for 12 months following her split from Meek Mill at the end of last year.
“I’m just chillin’ right now,” she told Ellen in the U.S. TV chat, which aired on Tuesday. “I’m celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any man. I hate men… I might make an exception to the rule for him (Nas) ’cause he’s so dope.”
Minaj and Nas first sparked dating rumors earlier this month, when she shared a photo of the new couple cozying up at his Los Angeles restaurant Sweet Chick, and she told DeGeneres she is enjoying date nights with singer Kelis’ ex-husband.
“We have (had sleepovers),” she laughed. “I go to him. I just thought him coming to me was too forward.”
Young Thug has noticeably deleted everything off of his Instagram page, but before he did he posted a video with a song that included a verse from Rich Homie Quan. The caption of the post read, “E.B.B.T.G.,” which is the abbreviation for Young Thug’s forthcoming album, ‘Easy Breezy Beautiful Thugger Girls’.
Thug’s caption got fans excited about the possibility of a Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan reunion.
Rich Homie cleared the air by explaining that the song was old, and he was unsure if it would be on Thug’s upcoming project because he hadn’t been contacted to clear it.
Rich Homie also expressed that he had no problem clearing the song, as he expressed to Fader that this was probably Thug’s way of reaching back out!
“The song old… I don’t remember the song… but the song’s been mixed and everything. I don’t know if it’s gonna be on there [E.B.B.T.G.] because I haven’t been called to clear it yet. I wouldn’t have no problem clearing it. But it’s probably his way of saying, ‘Yo what’s up Quan,’” said RHQ.
RHQ revealed that he and Thug have a lot of unreleased material all while wishing him the best. What are your thoughts? Are you interested in seeing a Thugger and Rich Homie musical reunion?

(AllHipHop News) Drake has notched up another record in the U.S. charts just days after becoming the most celebrated artist at the Billboard Music Awards.
(AllHipHop Rumors) You honestly cannot convince me that these men get with the Kardashians/Jenners for any reason other than to boost their fame and popularity.
There has been so much talk about Kylie Jenner since she ditched Tyga and hooked up with Travis Scott. Now folks are speculating that Scott may have ulterior motives for being with the reality star.
“Travis felt like he needed an extra push before touring since ticket sales have been low. Forget endorsements, being pictured with Kylie has been the best thing for him. He’s seen a huge bump in his social media mentions and it hasn’t even been a month!” said an insider.
I believe it. LOL. I’m not even mad at Scott though. Run up the check sir! Get that publicity!
(AllHipHop Rumors) Joe Budden and Cyn Santana have been going pretty strong for a while now.
They’ve even become a fan-favorite couple for their public displays of affection and silliness on Instagram.
Word on the curb is that Joe Budden and Cyn Santana may be expecting their first child together.
Last year Cyn even sparked rumors that she was pregnant when she tweeted out a cryptic tweet that read,
“Today I become a woman. A whole, complete woman. I am excited beyond words.”
Joe Budden shut down the rumors last year saying that Cyn just likes to eat, but maybe she’s really pregnant this time around. One thing that’s for sure is if they are indeed expecting, they will be two entertaining parents! Congrats to Joe & Cyn if this is true!

“We’re looking for CPS high school students to submit treatments for the ‘LSD’ music video featuring me & [Chance The Rapper], directed by [Sam Bailey] & [Vincent Martell] of [VAM STUDIO],” wrote Woods on Instagram.

According to the Hartford Courant, the family of Travis Ward has filed a lawsuitagainst Meek after the 31-year-old was killed in the Toyota Oakdale Theatre parking lot.
The Oakdale is also named in the suit because the venue is accused of not providing proper security for the event.
In addition, Meek’s music is being cited by the family’s lawyer as to why the Oakdale should have ensured a more safe space for attendees.
“With song titles like ‘body count’ and ‘oh kill’em’ that praise indiscriminate killing and mayhem, the potential for tragic incidents like this should have been properly anticipated and planned for by Meek Mill, his concert promoters and the Oakdale Theatre,” said attorney Joel Faxon.
Nathan Mitchell was also injured during the incident, and he is a party in the suit as well.
The defendants are seeking more than $15,000 in damages.
In total, four people were victims of the shooting.
Twenty-year-old Jaquan Graves was killed and another individual was injured.
