Is Future’s Opinion On Jay Z So Wrong?

(AllHipHop Opinion) As folks celebrate 20 years of Jay Z’s Reasonable Doubt, rapper Future has a slight different view of the album.

A rap debate sprouted up between LeBron James, Future, Kevin Durant, radio jock Ebro Durden, Steve Stout, the EVOL hitmaker said Tupac and Biggie’s death allowed Jay to be “great.”

“Jay Z wasn’t great when Tupac and Biggie was alive,” Future stated in a brief audio clip. “It was Biggie, Tupac, Ice Cube. [Reasonable Doubt] wasn’t hot until [Tupac and Biggie] died.” Future didn’t diss the album as a piece of art, but simple stated that it took time for the 1996 opus to take flight.

Some have jumped up to claimed disrespect but many others have stated that he tells no lies. What do you think?

Funkmaster Flex & Bow Wow Clash Again Online; Flex Calls Out Internet Rappers

(AllHipHop News) Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex and rapper/actor Shad “Bow Wow” Moss still do not seem to be on good terms.

The two entertainers had issues last year after Bow Wow had a problem with an article on Flex’s website.

Flex reignited the feud with a tweet that read, “FYI- Bowwow is F-cking finished out here! FACTS! His records is trash! Basura!”

Bow fired back by posting a Twitter poll asking his followers, “Are New Yorkers tired of funk flex on [Hot 97]?”

The former CSI: Cyber star then added a separate tweet, “Only DJ at 6pm in NYC i acknowledge is [DJ Clue].”

Funk Flex did not stop with Bow Wow.

The disc jockey also questioned the current relevancy of “internet rappers” Trinidad James, Azealia Banks, Earl Sweatshirt, iLoveMakonnen, and Tyler, The Creator.

Is A$AP Rocky Overrated?

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like this questionably-ranked rapper list has A$AP Rocky in his feelings.

Although I wouldn’t completely agree with the list in it’s entirety, I cannot stop laughing about how right they are with some of the rappers in the TRASH category!

The random list categorizes rappers into categories,”elite,” “overrated,” “trash” and more.

One of the most exciting and passionate things to argue about is Hip Hop, so it’s to no ones surprise that it sparked controversy just as the epic fails-of “lists” and “classes” that come out each year.

Usually the debate includes fans, Hip Hop heads, old school vs. the new, industry professionals etc, but it’s nothing like a good debate that involves the artists being debated on. Rapper A$AP Rocky wasn’t too happy to learn that he had been categorized as overrated.

“ASAP ROCKY OVERRATED ? ?HOW SWAY? N-GGA I PUT OUT A ALBUM ONCE EVERY 2 YEARS , I SEE I GOTTA LEVEL UP ON N-GGAS ONCE AGAIN 4 2017, SAY LESS,” tweeted A$AP.

A$AP took to Twitter to defend his music, and went on to retweet others who agreed with him. Well it looks like yall p##### Rocky off enough for him to put out new music more often. What are your thoughts? Is he truly overrated?

Timbaland Talks Being Inspired By DJ Premier, Dr. Dre & Jay Z Bringing Out Unique Production At Remy Martin Producer Series

Photo credit: Noe Montes/ Remy Producers

The Rémy Martin Presents “The Producers Series” “Season 3-West,” Los Angeles vs. The Bay finale took place at the Warwick nightclub in Los Angeles. The event was certainly one for the books as it was headlined by the legendary, multi-platinum, award-winning super producer Timbaland.

The event was also hosted by The Breakfast Club’s own Charlamagne Tha God, featuring Real 92.3’s DJ Carisma, Power 105.1’s DJ Rey-Mo, and 106 KMEL’s DJ Amen on the ones and twos throughout the evening.

The energy in the room was incredible as the Warwick night club was packed out with producers, artists, media, key influencers, and music industry professionals.

N.O.R.E, Soulja Boy, Seven Streeter, DJ Damage and more were also in attendance showing their support for the one-of-a-kind producer platform.

Four finalists rose to the top of nearly 800 submissions to battle it out for the winning plaque, meetings with label executives, and a $5000-valued gift.

Compton’s own Buckmouth Beatz & LA reigned supreme emerging as the winner of the “Season 3-West” competition.

Charlamagne did what he does best by asking in-depth questions that not only got Timbaland to chronicle and reflect on his musical success, but also provided inspiration to the producers in attendance.

Timbaland revealed that his favorite producers included DeVante Swing, Teddy Riley, Pete Rock, and more with Dr. Dre being at the top of his list of inspirations.

Timbaland also shared that he sat on Ginuwine’s hit record “Pony” for 7 years before it came out!

When it came to advice, Timbaland advised that when everyone is going right musically, producers should take their music and go left, and people will adapt and gravitate towards it.

Charlamagne asked Timb about him being known for sampling sounds like the burp sound in Ginuwine’s “Pony” and the crying baby in Aaliyah’s “Are You That Somebody”.

“I did that song [“Are You That Somebody”] in two hours. I had to turn that in in 3 hours. When I did that beat, I loved when I stacked the guitars. I didn’t pay attention to if it was a baby; I just listened to the rhythm of the baby laughing.

Static [Major] had it. We had to turn it in the next morning for the Dr. Doolittle soundtrack. She [Aaliyah] did it, and people were like I don’t know if we can play this record; it has a baby crying. People criticized it. Then when it went out, it was the biggest thing ever.”

When Charlamagne asked Timb what would he tell a producer as far as [not] limiting their hustle. Timbaland replied saying,

“Somebody gonna tell you that they don’t like something but it’s a billion people in the world. So if that one person don’t like it, there’s a thousand other people that do, so don’t let that throw you off your game.”

Charlamagne also asked Timbaland who was the first producer that he met, talked to, or heard something from that inspired him to believe he could also be a producer.

“I believe DJ Premier. I think I met him in New York. Very brief; I was a young cat. I shook his hand. Biggie brought something out of Premier that maybe Guru brought something different out of Premier. So it’s like when you find those special cats that match to your production it brings something out of you. You find the greatness out of you,” said Timbaland.

Charlamagne compared the Biggie and Premier situation to Jay Z and Timb, and Timb revealed that Jay Z showed him something in Hip Hop that he didn’t even see, as he showed him something great about himself and his production by following Jay’s lead on “N-gga What, N-gga Who.”

The Remy Martin “Producer Series” has proven itself to be a first of its kind music producer series, as it has featured over 10 top super-producers, and reviewed almost 4,000 tracks! Next, the “Producer Series” ‘Season 3-Midewest’ finalists from Milwaukee, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis, Cleveland and Indianapolis will meet up at the Soulja Boy headlined finale in Chicago to determine who deserves the Midwest crown.

A SWAT Team Raided J. Cole’s Studio and Inspired “Neighbors”

(AllHipHop News) A SWAT team raid on his studio earlier this year inspired rapper J. Cole to write his new song “Neighbors.”

Producer Elite reveals the “Lights Please” hitmaker’s Dreamville studio in North Carolina became the target of Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) officials back in March, after they received a tip off from local residents reportedly convinced Cole was running a drug operation from the building.

The hip-hop star and his team weren’t present at the time of the raid, as they were in Austin, Texas for the South by Southwest festival, but they soon discovered what had gone down.

J. Cole has yet to discuss the incident in public, but he makes reference to it in the hook of “Neighbors,” which features on his new album 4 Your Eyez Only and was recorded in the same studio cops raided.

On the track, he raps, “I guess the neighbors think I’m sellin’ dope…”

Elite, who works for Cole’s Dreamville Records label, admits he was stunned when he first heard the news, blaming conservative locals for going too far.

Suge Knight Denied Access To Dr. Dre’s Financial Info and Calls Motion “Useless”

(AllHipHop News) Embattled hip-hop mogul Marion “Suge” Knight has been denied access to Dr. Dre’s financial records after accusing the rapper/producer of hiring a hitman to murder him.

Knight filed suit against the former N.W.A. star in October of 2016, claiming Dre was bitter about a bad business deal and organized the Death Row Records co-founder’s shooting at Los Angeles club 1 OAK back in 2014.

He requested access to Dre’s bank accounts to determine if he had made any suspicious payments during that time, but Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brian S. Currey shot down the motion on Tuesday (December 16), because Knight did not specify which documents he was seeking.

“The court quashes the subpoena as it is a nullity and wholly useless,” he wrote in his ruling. “This motion is much ado about nothing.”

Knight will have the opportunity to re-file his motion with the required information.

In his original lawsuit, the 51-year-old alleged the two men had a lifetime management deal, which guaranteed Knight up to 30 per cent of the rapper’s entertainment earnings, but he was reportedly cut out of the contract when Dre signed a massive deal with bosses at Apple for the purchase of his Beats By Dre music accessories line.

Knight went on to claim Los Angeles County Sheriffs officials investigating his summer 2014 shooting had questioned a man named T-Money, who allegedly stated he was hired to murder the troubled former label boss.

He also alleged “Straight Outta Compton” technical adviser Cle ‘Bone’ Sloan was hired by Dre and bosses at the film’s studio Universal Pictures and paid $300,000 to take out Knight.

Knight became involved in an on-set altercation with Sloan and businessman Terry Carter in January, 2015, when he attempted to flee the set and ended up running over the two men, killing Carter.

He is currently facing murder and attempted murder charges relating to the bust up. Suge is suing Dre and bosses at Universal Pictures and Tam’s Burgers, where the incident took place.

He is seeking unspecified damages and 30 per cent of Dr. Dre’s earnings from the Beats By Dre deal.

Knight is due to stand trial for the criminal counts in February (17).

EXCLUSIVE: Doug E. Fresh Denies Any “Issue With Fox” in Empire Lawsuit

(AllHipHop News) There may be a lawsuit being waged against Fox’s “Empire,” but Doug E. Fresh has told AllHipHop.com exclusively that he is not part of the legal move.

“I had no idea. I don’t know the full scope. I’m so busy, I can’t keep up,” the legendary rapper told AllHipHop.

I don’t have no big lawsuit. I didn’t do nothing like that. I don’t have no problem with fox. I got music coming out for new years. i am just continuing on with what i do.”

Last week, a press release outlined a lawsuit and stated that Doug E. Fresh was one of the principle in litigation against the show “Empire,” the top show on Fox.

The suit stated:

“Publishing mogul and CEO of Wonderboy Entertainment, Rasheed Rahan Wonder has teamed up with Doug E. Fresh and songwriter Unique Mecca Hall to officially file a Multi-Million Dollar lawsuit against Fox’s top-rated show, “Empire”. The lawsuit contends that during season two of Empire, the show sampled the 1993 Doug E. Fresh hit song, “I-Ight” (Alright). The track was illegally sampled and used in the song “No Doubt About It,” which was performed on episode 3 by Pitbull and Jussie Smollett, as well as featured on Empire: Original Soundtrack from Season 2 Volume 1. The song was produced for the show by Timbaland, who was recently replaced as the musical director of Empire after two seasons.”

Sources with AllHipHop have stated that the root of the legal move is with incarcerated songwriter Unique Mecca Hall , who is represented by Rasheed Rahan. Hall is the writer that created the popular chant in the Doug E. Fresh song. Hall in the lawsuit as he is currently serving life plus 20 years in prison.

Hall hopes to be released soon.

As for Doug E. Fresh, he told AllHipHop that he if had a lawsuit against the show, he would not deny it.

“If I did, I would say it. I definitely don’t. I have nothing to do with it at all,” he concluded.

He reiterated this sentiment on social media.

Does Fabolous Have His Eye On Fetty Wap’s Girl?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Fab is out here lurking huh?

Well it looks like Fabolous likes what he sees in one of Fetty Wap’s girlfriends or on-and-off again sister wives, Alexis Sky.

Fetty Wap and his girlfriends, baby mamas/sister wives, and “day ones” are always beefing, fighting, and looking silly on social media over ol’ dirty d-ck Fetty, as some of them call him.

Well Fab has been caught liking several of Alexis’ Instagram photos, and last month it was believed that Fetty was throwing a subliminal shot at Fab once he got wind of Fabolous liking her posts.

Alexis had previously posted a post that said,

“There’s nothing more painful than a woman, trying to be the wrong man’s rib.”

Fab liked this post, and a post of Alexis basically saying she’s always been the sh-t.

At the time Fetty seemed to send a shot at Fab saying,

“They only want it cause it’s mine and once they do it’s theirs now.”

Rumors hit that Fab and his long-suffering baby mama, Emily B, have called it quits, so maybe Fab is just window shopping or interested in having a little fun.

Common Weighs In On Kanye West’s Meeting With Donald Trump and Says “We All Must Work Together”

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West and Common will remain good friends, despite having a sharp difference in political opinions.

Kanye West drew headlines when he took a 15 minute meeting with Donald Trump.

Kanye said the two men discussed a number of issues, including curbing the violence in Chicago, supporting teachers, and putting an end to bullying.

Common, who said he was voting for Hillary Clinton in the election, looked clearly at odds with Kanye when TMZ caught him leaving Equinox in West Hollywood earlier today.

However, Common refused to say anything bad about Kanye.

“Kanye, that’s my brother,” Common told TMZ.com.

“That’s my family right there, he’s going to do what he chooses to do. I think a lot of the change that we are looking for is going to happen from the people, the powers in the people,” Common said.

“It’s going to be us that really galvanizes no matter what color you are, look out for each other, start economically supporting each other, holding politicians accountable, and finding out what’s going on with mass incarceration and changing some of these laws that’s jailing people,” Common continued.

“So you know but to answer your question, Kanye, that’s my guy, that’s my homie and that’s always going to be my brother,” Common added. “Some things he does, that’s what he chooses to do, I know I do the things I know I’m going to do things the way I choose to do them and we’re going to do them together, that’s how love goes.”

If Common does end up working with Donald Trump, it’s a stark contrast to the tone he took in September.

During an interview on “The View” Common said, “Donald Trump is just not prepared to be a president.”

“He’s not that type of person that should be a president.”

Uber Employees Tracked Beyonce And Other Celebrities Using “God View” Tool

(AllHipHop News) Uber is facing some serious allegations that it secretly spied on its clients according to new documents in a court case.

Uber apparently has secret technology called “God View,” which allows the company to monitor the whereabouts of its patrons, which includes celebrities and politicians says former investigator Samuel Ward Spangenberg.

Spangenberg’s testimony is part of his ongoing court case against Uber, alleging the company engaged in age discrimination and whistle-blowing retaliation.

Numerous celebrities personal info and locations were exposed to a employees, due to the lack of security surrounding the intrusive feature.

Spangenberg claims he told all of Uber’s top executives, but instead of doing anything about it, they fired him.

The lawsuit claims Uber stores its data in an unsecured manner, putting its millions of customers around the world at risk.

The news comes a few weeks after a mild backlash, over the company’s new plans to collect more location-based data on its customers.

Soulja Boy Reignites Beef With Lil Yachty Over Sextape

(AllHipHop Rumors) Soulja Boy is NOT with Lil Yachty’s bull!

An alleged sextape snippet of Insta-rapper bae India Love involved in some girl-on-girl action hit the net recently. Now that the 22-30 seconds is out, Lil Yachty is not offering his former “girl” any support. In fact the rapper has asked his fans to stop tagging him about it as he claims that she is not his girl.

Apparently Soulja Boy was going to let it all slide, but he couldn’t because he says Lil Yachty started all of this beef and drama only to now say that that’s not his girl!!!

“N-gga stick by ur chick lmao. Don’t be embarrassed now. lmao wtf.” tweeted Soulja Boy.

But frfr how is Yachty going to start all of that stuff just to re-nig and backpedal?! Lil Yachty & Soulja Boy need to get it together, and this India chick does as well. First there were photos of The Game f######## her in the park, then her nudes got exposed, & now she got a tape out with another girl rubbing her azz. Gots to be more careful.

Eminem Taking On Australia’s National Party Politicians Over His Hit “Lose Yourself”

(AllHipHop News) Detroit rap star Eminem is gearing up to do battle with the National Party in Australia.

Eminem filed a lawsuit against the National Party in 2014, claiming the political organization used his song “Lose Yourself” in a political ad without permission.

The rap star and his publishing company, 8 Mile Style, are p##### that the National Party used “Lose Yourself,” for their ad campaign in the 2014 election in the country, but never sought out his permission.

The National Party has denied that they infringed on Em’s copyrighted work. Instead, they claimed they hired a local production company who created the original music, which was also used by other customers without complaints.

Nevertheless, the High Court at Wellington held a conference call between 8 Mile Style and the National Party earlier this week to try and reach a resolution over the copyright infringement claims.

National Party leader/Australian Prime Minister Bill English said he was unable to comment on the progress of the talks, due to the pending court date.

“This is a matter for the courts,” Bill English told the New Zealand Herald. “I don’t have any comment to make on it. I’ve had no contact with anyone related to the court case.”

The trial is slated to begin in May of 2017.

A$AP Ferg Has An Unpopular Opinion About Kanye West Meeting With Trump

(AllHipHop Rumors) Well A$AP Ferg certainly has a different view than most right now.

The lately troubled Kanye West met with President-elect Donald Trump yesterday, and all hell broke loose.

From hate to slander to jokes and memes, let’s just say the vast majority weren’t with it.

While YG and damn near everyone else is p##### about all things Trump, it seems like A$AP Ferg isn’t upset at all. He’s actually here for it!

Ferg took to Twitter to express his thoughts on Kanye West’s latest antics decisions, and like Rick Ross, he actually thinks Kanye West is very smart.

In fact he believes West is a lot smarter than we think,

“I think @kanyewest is smarter than we think he is , he’s getting closer to trump so he can get more insight of his plans!!! ur take?”

NBA Legend John Salley Says Kanye West Is “Brilliant” and “Crazy” For Meeting With Donald Trump

(AllHipHop News) Four-time NBA Champion John Salley recently weighed in on Kanye West’s controversial 15-minute meeting with Donald Trump.

Salley added his opinion into the mix and went as far as to call Kanye a “genius” for setting up a meeting with Donald Trump, which came just days after the rapper was released from an eight-day stint in the UCLA Medical Center for “temporary psychosis.”

“He’s letting you know he can get to the president when he wants to and have a conversation,” John Salley said. “That was a very important statement when the president elect said, ‘We were up there talking. We’ve been friends for a long time.’”

John Salley said Kanye’s critics are misguided now that the 39-year-old rapper has the ear of the President. He also dismissed Kanye’s stint in the hospital and said the rapper linking with Trump makes total sense.

“Kanye was in UCLA, people were saying he was crazy. Trump said he was running for president and was going to be president of the United States,” John Salley continued. “People said he was crazy. I guess both these people are crazy. I guess people need to start being crazy…

“I’m always going to champion Kanye because he went from being a kid in Chicago almost being able to any day being killed, to almost dying here in West Hollywood, to becoming one of the biggest names in the world,” John Salley said.

Meanwhile, Kanye continues to boast about his meeting with Donald Trump.

The rapper returned to Twitter last night (December 13) to offer up an explanation for his meeting with Donald Trump, Tweeting that they discussed bullying, supporting teachers, and bringing down the level of violence in Chicago.

This morning (December 14), Kanye returned to Twitter and posted an autographed Time magazine with Donald Trump on the cover.

Donald Trump is scheduled to be sworn in as The United States’ 45th president on January 20 at 12:00PM.

Lil Wayne Associate Cuban Harry Accused Of Robbing Pharmacies To Make and Sell Lean On The Net

(AllHipHop News) A Hip-Hop producer in Miami is facing some serious allegations, after being charged with orchestrating dozens of burglaries, in an attempt to be the king of “lean.”

Producer Cuban Harry, born Harrison Garcia, is accused of using his Instagram account to sell his lean, which is a powerful mixture of soda or juice, codeine and promethazine.

Cuban Harry, who is associated with Lil’ Wayne’s Young Money and Chris Brown, also goes by the name Muhammad_A_Lean on his social media accounts.

According to the Miami Herald, Cuban Harry masterminded dozens of robberies at pharmacies. The businesses were targeted for painkillers, which Cuban Harry then allegedly used to cook up his own sizzurp.

He became the subject of investigation almost a year ago, when the Feds realized he was using his Instagram account to sell his lean. Cuban Harry was eventually caught in a drug sting, when he sold $4,000 worth of lean to an undercover agent on two separate occasions.

Police eventually raided his house and found two pounds of marijuana. Cuban Harry eventually took them to a stash house where more money, guns and drugs were found.

He’s accused of using the proceeds to hobnob with popular rappers, drive exotic cars and travel internationally.

Cuban Harry is charged with racketeering, grand theft, and trafficking in illegal drugs.

Lupe Fiasco & ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt Clash Over Claims Of “Anti-Semitism”

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday, Lupe Fiasco told his 1.4 million Twitter followers that he was done making music.
