Are A$AP Rocky & This Famous Sister Back Kicking It?

(AllHipHop Rumors) These rappers love a Kardashian! Well technically Kendall is a Jenner but same difference. LOL.

As far as we knew it A$AP Rocky and Kendall Jenner either had a strong friendship or a strong situationship. You know how celebrities love to say they are “just friends” or like brother and sister.

Well apparently it looks like A$AP and the “quiet” sister are back kicking it as they were spotted in Manhattan on a major shopping spree. The two were spotted checking out some pretty nice grills, necklaces, and even engagement rings.

I don’t know if the engagement rings mean anything because I definitely thought Kendall was still kicking it with her alleged boo, Lakers player Jordan Clarkson!

Anyway maybe the two were just admiring some nice bling rather than actually considering taking a trip down the aisle anytime soon.

After all, in Hip Hop and Hollywood it’s mostly about “having fun” aka dating and f-cking around, and wasting each others time in 2017.

Kendall & A$AP do seem like they could kind of work as a couple, I guess. Hmmmmmm.

Nelly Loves Drake, But Says He Was Compared To James Brown

(AllHipHop News) Nelly himself has stepped into settle the “Nelly vs. Drake” debate that went viral earlier this week.

In an interview with the USA Today, Nelly addressed the Internet argument, which centered around Drake’s current run of hits, versus Nelly’s dominance throughout the 2000s.

“It’s not me against him. Drake is a dope artist and a cool dude,” Nelly told the USA Today. “Drake has shown me a lot of love,” Nelly said.

Nelly has been on the road the past several months promoting his “Night of Symphonic Hip Hop Tour,” where he plays his hits backed by a live orchestra.

The Saint Louis rapper remained very diplomatic about the debate.

Nelly said the comparisons between artists is not unusual, as one R&B legend compared him to another world famous soul singer.

“It happened to me, when I brought in new melodies and things of that nature, even Smokey Robinson said I reminded him of James Brown.”

Could the comparison spark a Nelly Vs. James Brown challenge next?

Chrisette Michele Is Being Paid How Much To Perform At Donald Trump’s Inauguration?!

(AllHipHop Rumors) By now most have also written R&B singer Chrisette Michele off for her agreeing to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration.

Apparently Michele’s camp kept her performance a secret for a week because they feared major backlash. As soon as the news hit the net, everyone from fans to other celebrities went in on the Grammy-Award winner.

Even singer Jennifer Holliday jumped ship from performing after she was hit with a series of death threats. Somehow Holliday claims she lives under a rock and had no idea what was going on in our country and why it was a bad idea to perform for Trump. I digress. Heavy sigh.

Questlove and Spike Lee certainly aren’t having it. Questlove even offered to pay Chrisette not to perform. Sis must’ve needed that check and exposure really bad. See this is what happens when R&B isn’t selling or being supported lol. I expected nothing less out of a woman that would turn around and get engaged to the same man that was suing her for 20 million.

Spike Lee took to Instagram to share his disappointment about Chrisette’s upcoming performance for Donald Trump. He also revealed that he will no longer consider using her song “Black Girl Magic” for his upcoming remake of She’s Gotta Have It on Netflix.

The songbird actually may lose out on a lot more. I sure hope these people she’ll get exposure to will buy that music that no one’s already buying.

Chrisette is reportedly being paid $750k to perform, and it’s clear that sis needs that coin. SMH.

Chrisette even took to Twitter to share a letter that she penned explaining her decision to perform.

“We can’t be present if we’re silent. My heart is broken for our country for the hopes of our children, for the fights of those who came before us. Today I hope that great moments begin in peaceful and progressive conversation. I am willing to be a bridge,” wrote the singer.

Explanation or not, folks just ain’t having it. Do you think African Americans should meet with Trump in an attempt to come together on a united front to work for all?

Young Dolph Features On New C.U.B. Song “Forecast”

Hip-Hop has a great history of rappers teaming up with DJs and producers for epic collaborative projects.

Sometimes these rare combinations have created some of the best tracks of all time. Eric B & Rakim, Guru and Premier as Gang Starr, Gnarls Barkley, Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek as Reflection Eternal.

Without the producer/DJ there is no music and without the rapper there is no message. Enter a Mississippi duo C.U.B. with a buzzing grassroots movement in Atlanta, Georgia.

C.U.B. is an acronym for “Counting Up Blessings” a phrase that both rapper Korleon and producer LoStarr are living out in real life.

The two have found success online via various acclaimed Hip-Hop sites and they have both traveled the world working with multi-platinum artists respectively, now they are coming together for something special.

Planning to break up the monotony of Hip-Hop’s oversaturated market with watered down trap music, C.U.B. are something new for Hip-Hop fans.

“We’ve done our thing as individuals for a minute, but at the same time we were always working on our respective projects together in the past, so we decided to make it official and put something out as C.U.B.,'” Korleon said. “They say art imitates life, well this is life imitating art and we on some whole other s###.”

Featuring appearances from Big K.R.I.T., Young Dolph, FABO, CTE’s Boo Rossini and more the guys are confident that their music will continue to impress those that give it a chance.

Kanye West Is The Subject Of A College Course At Washington University

(AllHipHop News) Back in 2014, Kanye West took on the role of instructor for an L.A. Trade Technical College class as part of his court-ordered community service.

A year earlier, the self-described college dropout gave an impromptu speech at Harvard University.

Now students at Washington University in St. Louis will not learn from Mr. West, but they will have the chance to learn about the G.O.O.D. Music founder.

“Politics of Kanye West: Black Genius and Sonic Aesthetics” began at the campus this week.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, seventy-five students registered for the 14-week class and more are on a waiting list.

“I always wanted to teach a course looking at black genius and the impossibility of black genius for the American public,” said associate professor Dr. Jeffrey McCune. “We’re always thought of as maybe being articulate or smart but not really genius.”

There have been other colleges to offer instruction focused on West.

Georgia State University had a Kanye class in 2015, and the University of Missouri had one that centered around him and his Watch The Throne collaborator Jay Z.

McCune’s syllabus includes topics such as “Who is Kanye West and Why Is He in the Flashing Lights?” “Father Stretch My Hands, or How Hip-Hop Takes Us to Church” and “Love Lock Down, or Hip-Hop’s Queer Love Languages.”

“I knew my students had connections to Kanye. They’re always referencing his music and performances and videos and fashion,” added the African and African-American Studies and the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies department member. “What better time than now to take seriously Kanye West as a cultural icon? I’m always interested in how he’s pushing whatever boundaries.”

Entertainers like Jay Z, 2Pac, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Beyoncé, and Rihanna have been studied at various institutions of higher learning as well.

[Breeding Ground] Bronx Emcee Cameron Jay Releases Visuals for “FWU”

[Breeding Ground] Cameron Jay released his first music video for single “FWU” featuring Philly’s own TruVocalz.

The Bronx rapper, under New World Entertainment has been buzzing around the underground music scene.  He’s been hitting stages and stations all around the Tri-State area.

Cameron Jay uses this track to show his leading lady how much he is committed to her, or in his terms, how he “F**** with You.”

With romantic dates and quality time, he makes her feel like the only girl in the world.  Although, in today’s age of no commitments and multiple situationships, a one woman guy can be hard to find.

Cameron wanted to show that there still are a lot of good guys out there that know how to and are ready to court a lady and not just in the “Netflix and Chill” kind of way.

Diddy’s Former Bodyguard Is Back At It With Some Serious Accusations Against Puff!

(AllHipHop Rumors) Puff’s former body guard, Gene Deal, claims he is coming to give y’all this work with the raw truth. According to him, Diddy wasn’t really taking care of the people around him, but instead he was taking care of folks’ funerals.

So it seems like dude is suggesting one of two things: either that Puff had something to do with the murders of those around him, and then he covered up by paying for their funerals, or he’s saying Puff was only around to take care of funerals, but he wasn’t really holding folks down before they died.

Well, people have always tried to allege that because Puffy’s money has always been so long, he could and has allegedly had “killers” on payroll. Do yall think Puffy is really about that life?

I’ma go with maybe the man is just trying to say that P. Diddy wasn’t really taking care of “family” until it was time to put them in the ground, not that he put hits out on folks.

Because dude used to work with Puff, he definitely has some knowledge of what went down back in the day, but you have to wonder why is he singing now? Why is he trying to extort and expose Puff now?

Hopefully Gene is saying that Puff was reckless and didn’t completely lookout for people as well as him maybe not having the right security measures in place more so than him suggesting a conspiracy that Puff was involved in having B.I.G or anyone else killed.

Man listen Puff, Suge Knight, and a few other insiders need to come out with some tell-alls so we can hear from everyone what really went down back in the day. LOL. What are your thoughts?

Tory Lanez Disses Eazy-E, Praises Lil Wayne?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Tory Lanez is certainly no stranger to controversy!

The expressive rapper/singer is clearly no stranger to throwing jabs, shots, subliminal disses, and sometimes just flat out stating his opinion.

With the recent controversy of Kodak Black claiming he’s the best rapper alive over Lil Wayne, Tory decided to take to Twitter to let the kids know, that in his opinion, Lil Wayne will die the best rapper of his time and era.

“LIL WAYNE WILL DIE THE BEST RAPPER OF HIS TIME and ERA … n-ggas gotta stop the bullsh-t and give the man his credit,” tweeted Tory.

While fans decided to reply with responses about whether or not they also agreed, some fans also took time out to bring up the fact that Tory Lanez took a jab at the late rapper Eazy-E a few months ago on his “Super Freaky” track that also features Rick Ross, as the track has recently been getting more love.

“Magnums on me, I ain’t going out like Eazy,” rapped Lanez.

Apparently fans felt it was an insensitive line rather than a bar since Eazy-E died of AIDS.

While one can appreciate his promotion of sex safe, it would’ve been better to leave Eazy’s name and death out of it.

Tory and that mouth; I swear. LOL.

Anyway, do you agree with Tory on Wayne being the best rapper alive, and dying the best rapper?

Nas Makes New Line Of Clothing With With Pro-Black Twist To Famous Cartoon Characters

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nas continues to use his HSTRY brand to funnel money into various community based projects.

The HSTRY line has announced an exclusive run of dashikis, as well as graphic tees, sweatshirts and hats.

Each article of clothing is emblazoned with various phrases like “Black Don’t Crack,” and “I’m Black and I’m Proud.”

Nas is also infusing the line with a little bit of humor, by featuring pro-black versions of cartoon characters like Bart Simpson, The Pink Panther and Charlie Brown.

Nas’ HSTRY line will donate a portion of the proceeds to the National Black Child Development Institute. The rapper developed the line out of his disenchantment with Black History Month, according to the Huffington Post.

“I used to low-key cringe when Black History Month came around,” Nas told the Huffington Post. “It felt like a slap in the face with all the hell we catch daily. Like a small reward for a dog’s good behavior, then back to the kennel. But I’ll take it. I’ll take what I can get and that’s all I need to go to new heights.”

During last year’s Christmas holiday, Nas used his clothing line to raise funds for criminal justice reform, by selling ugly sweaters with a kneeling Santa, which was inspired by Colin Kaepernick’s decision to kneel during the U.S. national anthem at the start of preseason games for the San Francisco 49ers.

Three Questions With Rory Fresco

(AllHipHop Features) At just 19, Rory Fresco is beginning to live out his dreams. A year ago, the budding Kansas City native was a community college student that was working part-time at Best Buy. Now he is a professional rapper sharing a show bill with Rich The Kid and taking meetings with Epic Records.

Rocking global stages and creating lasting art have been goals for Rory since he was a child. His turn towards Hip Hop began as an 11-year-old producer. The Midwesterner born Terrell Johnson Jr. admits his beats were not drawing the attention he hoped. So by 15, Terrell elected to take being an emcee more seriously.

A few years later, Rory Fresco became a promising fresh face of the Hip Hop blogosphere. That distinction was created in part because of a SoundCloud programming algorithm that randomly caused his song “Lowkey” to play directly behind Kanye West’s “No More Parties in L.A.”

“Lowkey” has collected over 4.4 million listens on the streaming platform since its debut in January 2016. A remix of the record – featuring Bay Area rhymer G-Eazy – became Rory’s first charting single when the new version peaked at #24 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart.

While he is just coming on the national scene, Fresco is setting himself up to be an active force to emerge from the Missouri like Nelly, Tech N9ne, and Hitman Holla. Rory tells AllHipHop.com, “I wanted to inspire the people the way my idols inspired me.”

Get to know Rory Fresco with “Three Questions.”

What has been the most difficult part of being a teenager in the music industry?

Man. N-ggas don’t believe. They don’t trust that my ideas will work! I really know what I’m doing and what I’m talking about when it comes to this stuff. N-ggas be trying to son me, and it don’t ever work.

If you could either produce one multi-platinum song by Drake or be a featured artist on multiple songs by Tech-9? Which option would you choose and why?

I’m producing that song for Drake. I don’t care what these other n-ggas say or how they think. I’m trying to be the biggest artist out. I ain’t trying to be underground. I need that Grammy.

On “Lazy,” you said, “didn’t want to be a monster, but this is what they made me.” What type of monster have you become and how has it changed you?

Honestly, I just feel I’ve turned into a selfish person. Industry full of greedy n-ggas, and it just rubs off on you. You start doing people how they try to do you.

Prodigy of Mobb Deep Talks About Hip-Hop Artists & The Illuminati

(AllHipHop Features) Prodigy has always been on another level. The Mobb Deep general let his views be known with a weighty rhymes that said, “Illuminati want my mind, soul and my body / Secret Society trying to keep their eye on me.” He would continue to create murda musik for the masses, but it was clear that he was cut from a different cloth than his peers. Prodigy’s Hegelian Dialectic: The Book of Revelation goes where no Mobb Deep album has gone before, right into the shadowy world of the hidden hand.

AllHipHop.com: As it relates to rappers, there was a wave for a minute there, everybody was in Illuminati. Everybody from Jay to Beyoncé, and even Taylor Swift, and people like that. Do you think there’s any truth to that, or is that just people looking, and reaching, and they might see somebody do a symbol or…

Prodigy: I believe that a lot of these video directors, a lot of these artists, I believe that they use a lot of the symbolism just to create controversy. Do know what I’m saying? I think a lot of it is for controversy. Just to make people talk.

You know what I’m saying? Yeah, as far as artists being down with certain s###, I don’t think it goes that far. You know what I mean? I definitely think that there is people that use a lot of symbolism and a lot of things in their video just to make people talk. Just to make like, “Oh you saw that? Oh my God.” You know what I’m saying? Get all these millions of views now because everybody’s trying to look at your video and see the symbols that you threw up or that you got in the video. I think there’s a lot of that going on.

You know what I mean? Consciously, they’re doing that, purposely. Then I think that there’s just a lot of ignorance. People don’t know. They don’t really know what they throwing up, or the hand symptoms, or whatever. They just ignorant to what they doing. You know what I mean? Yeah, I don’t really believe that Beyoncé and Jay, and Kanye’s down with the Illuminati. Like, nah. It’s way bigger than that. It’s different than that. It’s not what people think. You know what I’m saying. There’s no group that initiates you like, “Oh, come on … You with us now.” Like, nah. That Illuminati thing is so old from like the 1700’s.

That was a group that started back then to build to something that’s right now. No matter what you want to call it, Bilderberg Group, Illuminati, whatever name they go by, it doesn’t matter. The name is not what matters. What matters is what’s happening. You know what I’m saying? How did we get to that point? Now, how we got to this point is because of that group of people and that’s what they used to call theyself. Who the f### knows what they call themselves now now?

It doesn’t even matter. What matters is what’s happening and what they’re actually doing. That’s all that matters. A lot of people get caught up. Oh, the Illuminati, Illuminati. You’re so caught up in that name and that word, don’t get caught up in that. It’s deeper than that.  I think they get caught up in that because they don’t know how to delve deeper, and do the research, and find out what’s really happening. They’re just going off of the word and it sounds mysterious. You know what I mean?

They just get so caught up in that mystery of it, they’re not really finding out what it’s about.

You know what I mean?

Chance the Rapper Praises His Brother Taylor For Coming Out As Bi-Sexual

(AllHipHop News) Chance the Rapper has praised his brother Taylor Bennett for coming out as bisexual.

Hip-Hop artist Taylor, who has collaborated with his sibling on numerous projects, took to Twitter on Wednesday (January 18) to open up to fans about his sexuality.

“Growing up I’ve always felt indifferent about my sexuality & being attracted 2 one sex & today I would like to openly come out to my fans… I do recognize myself as a bisexual male & do & have always openly supported the gay community & will keep doing so in 2017. #ThankYou,” he wrote on the eve of his 21st birthday.

“My birthday is tomorrow & moving into next year I’d like to be more open about myself to help others that struggle with the same issues.”

Fans were quick to praise the bravery of the young star, with his brother, real name Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, one of the first to voice his support.

While he didn’t directly comment on his sibling’s coming out, Chance shared a video of himself alongside Taylor and other members of their family, telling fans: “This is my family right here. I will kill somebody for these people. Don’t play with me, don’t play with my family.”

He captioned the footage: “Love this man right here, through any and all. He has grown into a great man. He’s got God and me behind him, he cannot fail he cannot fall.”

Taylor has earned himself hordes of fans through his mix tapes, including 2015’s Broad Shoulders, which featured Chance, Nico Segal and Joey Purp.

Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine last year about his and Chance’s approach to music, Taylor said: “We’re working around the system to still bring good music. We’re really trying to build our own industry.”

Coolio To Soulja Boy: Quit Playing Before You Get Hurt

(AllHipHop News) Coolio has not been a topic of conversation in Hip Hop for a while, but the 1990’s rap star is now weighing in on Soulja Boy.

The “Gangsta’s Paradise” performer spoke about Soulja with the Domenick Nati Show.

“He’s playing a dangerous game, and he better be careful,” said Coolio. “I think he should go back home to Atlanta or wherever he’s from because if he doesn’t, something bad’s gonna happen.”

There have been a couple of reported criminal incidents involving Soulja, including his Hollywood Hills home being burglarized.

Coolio added, “What you wanna be in the hood for anyway? There’s nothing in the hood but dudes. Don’t let me find out that that’s what you… Come on, man. Quit playing before you get hurt.”

The 53-year-old Compton native suggested Soulja Boy get a mentor – such as Big Boi, Andre 3000, or Bun B – to “show him that he’s going the wrong direction before it’s too late.”

EXCLUSIVE: Taxstone’s Lawyer Comments On Client’s Bail Being Revoked

(AllHipHop News) Daryl Campbell received some more bad news this week.

The Hip Hop personality known professionally as Taxtsone is not being released on bail for weapon charges connected to the 2016 Irving Plaza Shooting.

At first, Manhattan Federal Magistrate Judge Andrew Peck planned to release Taxstone on $500,000 bond and house arrest, but Manhattan Federal Judge Lewis Kaplan was convinced to hold the podcaster in custody.

Prosecutors argued Tax was a threat to the community  and that witness testimony would prove he fired the fatal shot that killed Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.

“Anyone familiar with the nuances of federal criminal litigation knows that this is par for the course,” Taxstone’s lawyer, Kenneth Montgomery, told AllHipHop.com. “However, we are going to continue to vigorously defend the case and make intelligent decisions not rash and emotional ones.”

The Tax Season host was arrested on federal weapons violations, and he could also face charges in state court.

According to authorities, Taxstone’s DNA was found on a firearm used in the deadly shooting in New York City last May.

Brooklyn rapper Roland “Troy Ave” Collins, as well as innocent bystanders, were injured in the violent confrontation at the T.I. headlining concert.

Troy Ave’s bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter was killed during the incident.

The Feds are said to have witnesses that will show Taxstone fired the shot which took McPhatter’s life.

Montgomery has claimed prosecutors misrepresented his client as a gang member.

Did Donald Trump Turn Kanye West DOWN?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Some of y’all may have already forgotten about that fateful day Kanye West met with Donald Trump and distracted everybody from Russian hackers and a press conference he was going to address his business conflict of interests. Anyway, did The Donald use this friend? I don’t know, because Kanye West has supposedly had a burning desire to perform at the Inauguration of Trump. The only thing is, nobody told him about that curve coming:Image result for the curve ahead
Trump supposedly curved Kanye West and denied the rappers request to perform. He told him NO, according to rumors! Why though? I mean, Kanye is STILL one of the biggest names in the game. Perhaps, he didn’t want Kanye rapping “Power” or raps about bleaching a### regions. EW. Anyway, now I am wondering how those “talks” about the violence in Chicago are going. LOL! Perhaps, Trump should have talked to Rhymefest, who is actually doing the on-the-ground work in Chi-Town.

Donald Glover, Chance The Rapper & More Praise Barack Obama (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Today (January 19) is Barack Obama’s final full day as President of the United States.

GQ connected with several celebrities to get their thoughts on what the Obama presidency meant for them.

Hip Hop artists Chance The Rapper and Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover were among the people featured in the video.

“President Barack Obama, to me, is the perfect introduction to hard work as a man,” stated Chance.

Glover said, “It was really nice to have a president who understood bravery.”

Carmelo Anthony, Usain Bolt, Samantha Bee, Cuba Gooding Jr, Sarah Paulson, and more also spoke about President Obama.
