Young Thug Trial: Witness At Center Of Controversy Suggests He May Not Testify

Judge Paige Reese Whitaker informed Kenneth “Woody” Copeland he would be held in contempt if he refused to testify again in Young Thug’s RICO trial on Tuesday (August 6). Copeland claimed he wasn’t sure if he would testify when the trial resumes next week.

“Depend on how I wake up,” Copeland responded when asked if he’d testify, per the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Jozsef Papp.

Copeland was the key witness who spoke with the case’s former judge and prosecutors in a secret meeting that derailed Young Thug’s trial. Defense attorneys believed Judge Ural Glanville and the prosecution coerced Copeland into testifying in June.

The secret meeting created legal chaos, resulting in Judge Glanville’s recusal from the case. Judge Rachel Krause ordered Judge Glanville’s exit in July.

“This Court has no doubt that Judge Glanville can and would continue presiding fairly over this matter if the recusal motions were denied, but the ‘necessity of preserving the public’s confidence in the judicial system’ weighs in favor of excusing Judge Glanville from further handling of this case,” Krause ruled.

Judge Shukura Ingram was assigned to take over the case from Judge Glanville. She quickly recused herself due to a potential conflict of interest. Judge Whitaker was tasked with handling the complicated case following Ingram’s decision.

The defense sought a mistrial, but Judge Whitaker seemed determined to push forward with Young Thug’s trial. Judge Whitaker planned for testimony to resume on August 12. The trial has been on hold since the first week of July. It started in 2023.

Young Thug has remained in jail since his 2022 arrest. Judge Whitaker denied his renewed motion for bond.

“I’m not going to reconsider any bond issues that have already been considered and ruled upon by another court absent legitimate changed circumstances,” she said in July.

Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel filed a motion to disqualify the lead prosecutors in the RICO case. Judge Whitaker has yet to rule on the matter.

Birdman On Lil Wayne, Hot Boys Solo ESSENCE Fest Sets & Rick Ross Fake Jewelry Jab

Birdman has finally cleared the air on the separate Essence Fest performances of Lil Wayne and the Hot Boys and managed to air out Rick Ross in the process.

In a recent live stream, Birdman opened up about the drama surrounding Lil Wayne and the Hot Boys’ sets at Essence Fest, in addition to addressing lyrics from Rick Ross suggesting he wears fake jewelry.

The Cash Money mogul started off with the former, seemingly remarking that fans’ perception of a full-blown Hot Boys reunion was skewed from the beginning. Birdman explained by detailing the behind-the-scenes dynamics, revealing that Lil Wayne’s solo set was always part of the plan.

“N###as was talking about ‘Wayne [Lil Wayne] and won’t do this and do that,'” Birdman said. “Wayne wasn’t going to even do Essence. I called my son and asked him to do it because I was doing Birdman and Friends, and he did it. I asked him to do it right.”

He continued, emphasizing that Wayne having his own set was pre-planned.

“So we always knew that Wayne was going to have his own set because me and Juvie, Geezy [B.G.] and Fresh [Mannie Fresh], we rehearsed together every day and we had our own set together,” he said. “But we all knew that Wayne was going to have his own set because Wayne was.”

Birdman also showed love to artists such as 2 Chainz and Bun B, who also appeared along side the Hot Boys members whom he performed with at ESSENCE.

As the interview continued, Birdman didn’t hold back when addressing Rick Ross’ claim that he wore fake jewelry. In case your memory has served you better in the past, the “Stuntin Like My Daddy” hitmaker was referring to a diss made in Ross’ track “Idols Become Rivals” from his 2017 album Rather You Than Me. Birdman vehemently denied the allegations, recounting his lavish lifestyle from a young age.

“I was 14 years old wearing two Rolexes uptown, in NOLA, 15 years old with 10 cars,” he said. “By the time I was 16 years old, I had 16 cars playing with a few Ms.”

As he continued fiercely defending his reputation, Birdman essentially disowned Ross, claiming it has been more than 20 years since he had a relationship with him.

“I ain’t never been no man in my life that will fake jury blood,” he said, adding, “Cap talking, n###a b###h made to say I wore fake jewelry. N###a p#### to say I wore fake jewelry. I ain’t never wore no fake jewelry. But that just showed me a n#### don’t know me. N#### you met me, met a n#### in ’96, stop f###### one of ’em in 2000.”

PnB Rock’s Mother Reveals Shocking Way She Learned Murder Trial Was Underway

PnB Rock’s mother Deannea Allen found out the two men charged in connection to her son’s shooting death were on trial like most people did. Allen told Rolling Stone she discovered the trial was underway via social media, prompting her to go to great lengths to travel from Philadelphia to Compton to attend the final day of testimony on Monday (August 5).

“I’m here to get justice,” Allen said. “I want justice. This was my son, my child. I want the jury to know he has a family who loves him and wants to support him. I learned a lot today.”

Freddie Trone and Tremont Jones faced multiple charges for their alleged roles in PnB Rock’s 2022 murder. Prosecutors accused Trone of sending his 17-year-old son into a restaurant to rob the late rapper with a gun and serving as the getaway driver. Jones allegedly tipped off Trone to PnB Rock’s whereabouts and supplied the weapon. Both suspects denied any wrongdoing.

“I understand you’re trying to put together your story,” Trone told prosecutors during Monday’s testimony. “I never had nothing to do with it. I wasn’t there. I didn’t tell nobody to do nothing. I didn’t hand nobody no gun.”

PnB Rock’s mother was unconvinced by Trone’s denial.

“His lies are ridiculous,” Allen said. “That is ridiculous. The surveillance should speak for itself.”

Trone and Jones are the only suspects on trial in PnB Rock’s murder case. The alleged shooter was deemed incompetent to stand trial by a juvenile court judge. Two women pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact.

“The women in this case, at least they took responsibility,” Allen said. “But the men, they’re not trying to deal with it. They’re trying to say they had nothing to do with it. It’s unacceptable. My son was a beautiful person. He tried to take care of everyone. Our last conversation was a half-hour when he was on his way to California. He told me about all the good things he was doing. He was just trying to be better, a little more conscious.”

PnB Rock is survived by his fiancée Stephanie Sibounheuang and two children. He was 30.

Bossman DLow Fans Troll Him With His Own Lyrics After Old Video Of His Alleged Arrest Goes Viral

Bossman DLow fans are both devastated and entertained by the news of his alleged arrest and took their reactions to social media accordingly.

The “Get In With Me” rapper began trending on social media platforms such as Twitter and more after a short video surfaced in which he appeared to be in handcuffs.

According to the caption of the video, DLow was allegedly raided by either federal agents or Florida state law enforcement officials, who can be seen with their guns drawn and instructing the rapper to walk back to them with his hands up.

The individual recording the video of his alleged arrest shouts “Bossman” as authorities walked DLow to a vehicle. He seemingly obliges the shoutout before being escorted out of the frame.

Almost immediately after the video began trending on Twitter, users started using bars from DLow’s songs to sum up the situation as it unfolded.

“They heard him say, ‘You ain’t gone keep it P, alright bet/Stand on that’ and took it very personally,” one user tweeted. Another user remarked, “Lmao dumb ass n#### called his self the dope man.”

One user pointed out that one of DLow’s most popular songs could also be to blame for his alleged run-in with the law. “They must’ve just heard ‘Mr. Pot Scraper,'” the user tweeted.

Another user trolled DLow over his catchy ad-libs, tweeting, “Guess dawg was riding around with that …..YEAAHHHH.”

Users eventually went on to speculate the validity of the video of DLow’s arrest once the lyrical Tom Foolery was all said and done.

Several individuals claimed the video was old and related to a raid on one of the Florida rapper’s friend’s residences. Others denied the allegation that it was the feds that apprehended DLow and rather state officials. No official response has come from DLow yet confirming the news either way yet, either.

Megan Thee Stallion Endorsed Kamala Harris: Is Flau’jae Next?

LSU women’s basketball star and Roc Nation-signed rapper Flau’jae hoped to perform at a Kamala Harris campaign rally like Megan Thee Stallion. Flau’jae eyed a gig in her hometown of Savannah, Georgia, which Harris intended to visit on Friday (August 9) before a weather-related postponement.

“She’s coming to Savannah, Georgia, so I would’ve definitely popped out,” Flau’jae told AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur. “But it’s crazy. I got my song ‘Ready or Not.’ I’m like, ‘It’s crazy, I’m the one they want to represent/Young black girl, I could probably be the president.’ But I do think it’s important that rappers are taking the initiative to [help the campaign]. So, you got to think Megan Thee Stallion has a gajillion kabillion fans. And she has a lot of influence. And so anything to just get into the youth, that’s what I think Kamala’s trying to do is get in touch with the youth.”

Flau’jae discussed more than politics in her interview with AllHipHop. She also reflected on her duty to champion Hip-Hop culture and the art of rapping.

“I feel like it’s a kind of a dying sport right now,” she said. “Anybody could just go to the studio or record on their phone and call it Hip-Hop. And I think we’re getting further and further away from the core values of what Hip-Hop really is. I don’t think it’s enough students of the game. ‘Cause me, I like to go back. I studied all—you could ask me any questions just about Hip-Hop in general. It deriving from New York, DJ Kool Herc, everybody. So, I know about Hip-Hop and I feel like a lot of kids—when you want to be great, you got to study the greats. That’s what I always thought. So, me being a Hip-Hop connoisseur is kind of just like, I feel like I got a kind of responsibility for people to understand what Hip-Hop and how it’s changed throughout the years. Don’t make it wrong, but it’s about just going back to the core.”

Pitbull Drops Millions On Naming Rights To FIU Football Stadium

Pitbull just made a major purchase, buying the naming rights to Florida International’s football stadium (FIU).

On Tuesday morning (August 5), news surfaced that Mr. 305 was finalizing a multi-million-dollar deal. According to ESPN, the FIU Board of Trustees approved a five-year contract for the naming rights. Pitbull will pay the school $1.2 million annually for five years, with the option to renew for another five years at the end of the term.

FIU Stadium will become Pitbull Stadium and reportedly the first college athletics building named after a musician.

The outlet reports the rapper and singer will breathe new life into the stadium with a fresh anthem. Additionally, Pitbull is contractually obliged to post about the school on social media and attend at least one fundraiser annually.

The deal also offers some perks for Pitbull, including two private suites for home games. He can also use the stadium on at least 10 days during the year, and his vodka brand, Voli 305, will be distributed in the stadium. Pitbull will also receive the title “Official Entrepreneur of FIU Athletics.”

The school celebrated the new deal on Instagram, wishing Pitbull a warm welcome. “Mr. 305 is HOME,” the official FIU account wrote, announcing the newly crowned Pitbull stadium.

But the difference is, we don’t do this for propaganda, we do it from the heart. We do it because it’s meaningful. We do it because I’m from the crib. I’m 305. I’m from the bottom. Nicki Minaj Blasts “Mooch” Relative In Scathing Rant, Sister Ming Luanli Responds

Nicki Minaj seemingly shaded her younger sister, Ming Luanli, calling her a “mooch and a clown” for doing interviews about her, sparking a response from her sibling.

On Monday night (August 5) the NYC rapper ranted about a mystery person, slamming them for speaking on “a person they love.”

While she did not name her sister Ming Luanli, Nicki Minaj hinted she was talking about a relative.

“Why would a person speak openly about a private person? Why would a person do that?” she questioned during a talk on StationHead. “Who would you speak about in your interviews if someone wanted to interview you? Yourself, right?”

She continued, declaring, “It’s always a bad sign if a person who’s not even in your line of work or has never been successful in your line of work is doing interviews with people in your line of work.”

Minaj then gave the strongest indication she was referring to a family member. “I think y’all think talent, like you could catch it like a cold,” she added. “Or maybe people could pass it through the genes. Even with blood relation, what God has given to me is mine. You have to go and get your own. You have to discover whatever it is that you’re great at. Being a mooch and a clown don’t run in my DNA.”

The clip soon circulated online, and fans speculated that Nicki Minaj was shading Ming Luanli following a recent interview with the We In Miami podcast.

Ming Luanli On Growing Up As Nicki Minaj’s Sister

During the episode, Luanli shed light on growing up as Nicki Minaj’s half-sister, among other topics.

“It was kinda hard,” she admitted. “I used to be bullied a lot because people used to say like ‘Oh if this person was your sister, why didn’t she do this for you?'”

The budding rapper continued, “I just needed her to see that I can do it, and she can be proud of me without having to think that I needed to have a easy way to get to the top.”

While Luanli explained that they were never close and would often argue, she did look up to her. “I used to have this urge of wanting to impress my sister,” she explained.

The Game Announces “The Documentary 3” Plans: “It’s Gonna Be Tough”

The Game is gearing up for a special celebration to mark the 20-year anniversary of his first major label release by dropping The Documentary 3

The Compton native let news of his upcoming album slip during a recent interview on the Tacos & Shawarma podcast. “I’m definitely gonna start the new album and I ain’t told anybody that,” The Game revealed. “But yeah, The Documentary 3, I’m gonna go in hard. ”

The Game continued, announcing, “I’ma drop it the same day that the other one dropped.” He added, “I’m up for the challenge. It’s gonna be tough.”

The Documentary arrived via Dr. Dre‘s Aftermath Entertainment and 50 Cent‘s G-Unit Records back on January 18, 2005. According to The Game, fans can expect The Documentary 3 to land on the same date in 2025.

The Game first hinted he was working on The Documentary 3 during an Instagram Live earlier this year. He teased the project while addressing his absence from Kendrick Lamar’s epic The Pop Out: Ken & Friends concert.

“We coming up on the 20th muthafuckin anniversary of The Documentary,” he shared. “I’m about to start putting in work on The Documentary 3 and I’ma give that s### to my fans.”

The Game made headlines during the Drake and K. Dot battle for attempting to rehash his beef with Rick Ross. However, Rozay refused to bite and then trolled The Game over his legal struggles. The pair exchanged jabs on social media before The West Coast rapper accused The MMG honcho of reporting him to Instagram.

Janet Jackson Gearing Up For Las Vegas Residency Following World Tour

Janet Jackson is fleshing out the details for a Las Vegas residency to round out the year.

The iconic singer is reportedly putting the finishing touches on a deal with Resorts World, per TMZ. The short residency is set to begin in December with a special New Year’s Eve performance to ring in 2025.

The outlet reports Janet Jackson chose a Vegas residency over London because the bigger bag was Stateside. It’s not the legendary entertainer’s first residency in Sin City after headlining “Metamorphosis” for three months at the Park MGM in 2019. At the time, the 18-date deal ranked as one of the most lucrative Vegas residencies, grossing around $13 million.

Janet Jackson’s Las Vegas residency is set to kick off shortly after she wraps her Together Again tour. Jackson began the tour last April in Florida, and she’s set to conclude in Glasgow, Scotland, in October. She wrapped the North American leg at the end of last month and is scheduled to begin the European leg in September.

During her shows Janet Jackson pays tribute to her late brother, Michael Jackson, performing their 1995 duet “Scream.”

While it’s important for her to keep “his spirit with me,” she recently revealed the song reignites memories of their bond.

“Listening to him every night, seeing him, remembering us,” is deeply emotional,” she explained to the BBC last month. “I relive that whole journey, listening to him sing it and remembering what he was going through at that time. And just me being his little sister, always by his side, and being that support system. That’s always been my role.”

Donald Trump Continues Attacks On Kamala Harris’s Name With “Kambala” Moniker

Donald Trump is continuing his attacks against Vice President Kamala Harris, referring to her in social media posts as “Kambala.”

Trump caused outrage last month by revealing he doesn’t care if he mispronounces the name of his political rival. Now he’s upped the ante by addressing her by a new name altogether.

The moniker appeared to stem from a typo in one of his many posts on his Truth Social platform Monday night (August 5). In the first post, Trump claimed, “Food is now at an all time high because of Kamabla/Biden INCOMPETENCE.”

In every subsequent post, Donald Trump called the Vice President “Kambala.”

“Kamabla Harris is afraid to Debate me on FoxNews,” Trump wrote in his final message of the evening. “She will be easier to defeat on the Debate Stage than Crooked Joe Biden, just watch!”

During his speech at Turning Point USA Believers Summit last month, Trump denied mispronouncing Kamala Harris’ name. He claimed there are more than half a dozen ways to say her name.

“There are numerous ways of saying her name. They were explaining to me, ‘you can say Kamala, you can say Kamala’, I said, ‘don’t worry about it. It doesn’t matter what I say. I couldn’t care less if I mispronounce it’,” Trump told the Florida crowd. “Some people think I mispronounce it on purpose, but actually, I’ve heard it said about seven different ways.”

Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff fired back the following day. “I know you have so much trouble pronouncing her name,” he said in a video shared by the Harris Campaign. “But here’s the good news. After the election, you can just call her Madam President.”

Trump’s latest attempt to mock Harris didn’t go down well on social media. Check out some reactions below.

Cardi B Clarifies NYC Apartment Verbal Spat: “I Was Defending Them”

Cardi B is clearing the air after getting into a heated argument with a New York apartment resident last week.

On Monday (August 5), the New York Post shared footage of the verbal fisticuffs. The clip includes Cardi B yelling, “I’m recording you, b####! I’ll f### you up for real,” to a resident she accused of harassing a group of people.

However, Cardi B took to X (Twitter) after making headlines to share her version of events. She also posted a video she recorded of the incident, clarifying that it happened in the early hours of July 28, and not a day later, as the outlet reported.

According to Cardi B, she was actually looking out for the group, defending them from the resident.

“Why y’all trying to make me sound bad??” she wrote alongside the video. “This was July 28th and I was defending them but ok.”

In the footage Cardi B shared, she is seen leaning out of her car window, yelling, “Why you touching their s###,” repeatedly. “Why you talking to them like that? They not even bothering you,” she adds.

The publication reports the argument began after a resident yelled at a group of people to leave the apartment driveway.

Cardi B also reported a longer video of the incident, accusing the resident of bullying the group for simply taking photographs. In the footage, Cardi B can be heard in a lengthy exchange with the heated resident. The “Wanna Be” rapper berates the woman for “touching their s###” and tells her to leave them alone.

“Btches trying to be funny and make this something it’s not but I don’t care,” she said. “I don’t like when people think they can bully people for no reason.. like how you gonna do all that yelling, hit their car, AND call the cops all because they taking pictures in front of a building?!”

The footage surfaced just days after Cardi B filed for divorce from her husband of nearly seven years, Offset. She also confirmed that she was pregnant with their third child.

Rihanna Dons Dazzling Carnival Costume At Barbados Crop Over

Rihanna made a show-stopping appearance at the 2024 Crop Over Festival in her native Barbados.

On Monday (August 5), footage of the mother of two letting her hair down in a skimpy bejeweled costume complete with feathered wings. The superstar singer had all eyes on her as she posed for photos.

One set of images sees Rihanna flanked by two armed law enforcement officers.

Later in the day, Rihanna and friends, including Ayra Starr, partied on a float, waving to fans as the truck made its way around the festival route.

Before meeting up at Barbados Crop Over, Rihanna and the Nigerian-bred singer hooked up earlier this year in London. During an interview in May, Starr gushed over the meeting at the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty Earth Tone launch party.

“I was like, ‘Wow! Rihanna!’” Starr said of meeting the Fenty mogul for the first time. “We got to hang out after the event. Just spending time with my idol, the person that inspired me to do all of this, was the most amazing thing. She gave me so many pointers and advice.”

Days before Crop Over, Rihanna and partner A$AP Rocky celebrated a major milestone as their son Riot Rose turned one on August 1. Rocky paid tribute to the little boy with an adorable trip down memory lane featuring precious moments from the little boy’s first 12 months.

Machine Gun Kelly Says He’s Sober: One Year Free From Alcohol & Drugs

Machine Gun Kelly shared his triumph over addiction during an appearance on the Dumb Blonde Podcast Monday.

The 34-year-old, known offstage as Colson Baker, disclosed he has been sober from alcohol and drugs for an entire year.

“I’m completely sober from everything. I don’t drink anymore. I haven’t drank since last August,” Machine Gun Kelly told listeners, marking a significant milestone since his battle with alcohol, cocaine, and heroin addiction began.

His struggle with substance abuse had been a recurring theme in his life and music, notably explored in his debut album Lace Up, released in 2012.

Songs from the album paint a vivid picture of his turbulent past with heroin and cocaine.

In a candid segment of the podcast, Machine Gun Kelly revealed he quietly entered a rehab facility after concluding his 2023 European tour.

“I didn’t tell anybody outside of the people closest to me. That was my first time I ever went to rehab,” he admitted. “They just gave me so many ways to operate the body and show where this anger is coming from and methods to quell it.”

Machine Gun Kelly’s journey through recovery included extensive therapy where he met with numerous psychiatrists.

“Some gave up on me and many therapists did the same,” he shared. “But I ended up falling into an awareness of what my condition is and have made peace with it. It’s a constant tightrope walk.”

His motivation to embrace sobriety is deeply personal. Machine Gun Kelly previously expressed his desire to turn his life around for his fiancée, Megan Fox, and his daughter, Casie.

This newfound clarity and determination signify a poignant chapter in his ongoing narrative – a public persona navigating private battles.

As Machine Gun Kelly continues to redefine his path, his story resonates as a testament to the resilience and resolve that underscores his artistic and personal journey.

Dame Dash Says Kanye West Inspired Wyoming Ranch Purchase Amid Sale Of Roc-A-Fella Shares

Dame Dash has apparently relocated and, as a result, revealed his decision to purchase a sprawling ranch.

The Roc-A-Fella Records co-founder has now become a resident of Wyoming, where he plans to experience life at a difference pace. Dash, who has become known for his unconventional choices, took to a recent livestream to share the inspiration and details behind his latest real estate venture.

“For me, I grew up in Harlem on the concrete, and I hear about all these different lifestyles and I’m like, yo, ‘I got to see what that’s like in person so I could decide which life I like’,” Dash began.

While reflecting on his roots and the allure of a different way of life, Dash was quick to recount how he even arrived at the decision to embrace ranch life in the first place. As Dash continued, he revealed that his visit with Kanye West, who also owns property in Wyoming, was a pivotal moment in triggering his thought process.

“I was out here visiting Kanye and I was like, ‘F##k it man'” he said. “I’m going to get my own ranch. You know what I’m saying? So that’s what happened.”

The new property, which Dash has dubbed the “Dusko Ranch,” boasts 25 acres of land, complete with cabins and horses.

“We built a little, got cabins and all type of horses, little 25 acres, you know what I mean?” he detailed. “It’s tough out here. It’s like the ground is tough. That whole cowboy thing, I feel like, because I had the ranch and I was doing the cowboy was like, I think I inspired it.”

Amid the serene backdrop of Wyoming, Dash finds solace and clarity. He went on to admit the therapeutic aspect of his ranch experience has contributed to his quality of life.

“It’s good to have a nice little view, sometimes, clear your mind, have some wine,” he said. “So at this time, around this time now, when we on the ranch, we drink wine. Me and my girl, it’s just me, Dusko, and Raquel. And we just marinating and enjoying life.”

The news of the move arrives amid the buzz surrounding his compelled sale of shares in the iconic Roc-A-Fella Records for a whopping $1.2 million. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, one-third of Dash’s shares will be sold by the U.S. Marshal at a public auction on August 29 in Manhattan. Potential bidders will have to register to attend the auction by sending an email to attorney Christopher Brown, the same lawyer who represents director Josh Webber.

Webber, of course, is the person who was awarded more than $800,000 in a civil judgment against Dash for copyright infringement and defamation in 2022 over the film Dear Frank. The purpose of the auction is to satisfy the debt, which will include Dash’s most valuable asset, JAY-Z’s Reasonable Doubt.

Donald Trump Shamelessly Panders To Rap Fans On Adin Ross Stream

Donald Trump attempted to court Gen Z voters by appearing on a livestream with Adin Ross on Monday (August 5). Things quickly became absurd when Trump used 50 Cent’s “Many Man” as entrance music for the stream.

Various memes linked 50 Cent’s song to Trump after the former president survived an assassination attempt. Trump walked out to “Many Men” despite the objections of the song’s producer Darrell “Digga” Branch, who said he’d refuse to let Trump’s campaign use the song.

“I’m not feeling dude at all,” Branch told TMZ in July. “I’m not voting for him. People that know me and close to me know that I go in hard on him every chance I get … The irony of my song being connected to this is just crazy.”

The 50 Cent entrance was just the beginning of Trump’s pandering to rap fans on the stream. Trump claimed he would help Young Thug be treated fairly in the rapper’s Georgia RICO case if re-elected.

“I’ve heard about him,” Trump said of Young Thug. “I heard he’s being treated very unfairly by [Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis]. And I would tell her she’s gotta treat these patriots that are being all—terrible. They’re going after them. And I heard Young Thug is being treated—I heard the name. I heard it from other people where they say he’s being treated very unfairly. So, he’s gotta be treated fairly.”

Trump also spoke highly of Kanye West. The ex-president called Ye a “complicated” person, downplaying the outspoken rapper/producer’s controversies.

“Let’s say complicated because he is,” Trump said. “He’s a really nice guy, but he can get himself into trouble and he gets some other people [into trouble]. But, you know, he’s got a good heart. He does. He does. But he’s complicated.”

Trump is running for president despite his conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records. His opponent is Vice President Kamala Harris, who became the Democratic nominee once President Joe Biden dropped out of the race.

Ice Spice’s “Y2K” Album Flops—But She’s Trying To Stay Optimistic

Ice Spice tried to put a positive spin on her debut album’s first-week sales on Monday (August 5). The Capitol Records artist thanked her fans and hyped her tour after Y2K sold 28,000 album-equivalent units.

Like..? did 15k so thank u to everyone who supported me then & thank u to all the new supporters,” she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Y2K! WORLD TOUR been so fun that these numbers are cool and all but b#### u should of seen that Boston CROWD last night. NYC TOMORROW.”

Y2K debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard 200. It was a slight downgrade from Ice Spice’s Like..? EP, which peaked at No. 15.

Ice Spice has experienced more success on the Hot 100 chart. Four of her songs cracked the Top 10 over the past two years. It’s worth noting all four entries were collaborations. She scored her highest-charting song with a guest appearance on Taylor Swift’s “Karma.” It peaked at No. 2

“I was living in my first apartment in Jersey, and (producer) Riot was there recording me,” Ice Spice told Rolling Stone. “I remember my manager called me, and he usually texts, but he called, and he’s like, ‘You ready for this one?’ And I’m thinking it’s going to be some bad news or something. He’s like, ‘Taylor Swift has a record for you to get on from her album.’ I’m playing it cool on the phone. I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s cool. Super cool.’ And then I hang up the phone and I’m hysterically crying. I’m in my walk-in closet, and I’m like, ‘Bro, this is not real life.’”

Nicki Minaj helped Ice Spice secure two Top 10 hits with their collaborations “Princess Diana” (No. 4) and “Barbie World” (No. 7). PinkPantheress recruited Ice Spice for “Boy’s a Liar Pt. 2,” which reached No. 3.

Keefe D Claims He Spent Years Trying To Collect $1M From Diddy For Tupac Shakur Murder

Mike Dorsey, the filmmaker behind the Murder Rap documentary, released never-before-heard audio of Tupac Shakur murder suspect Keefe D’s 2008 confession on Monday (August 5). Keefe D revealed his struggles to get paid for Shakur’s murder after Diddy allegedly offered $1 million for the hit.

Keefe D, whose real name is Duane Davis, allegedly told Harlem gangster Eric “Von Zip” Martin to collect the money from Diddy days after the murder. Four to six weeks later, Keefe D met Martin again. Keefe D said Martin had been avoiding him.

“What’s up with the cash?” Keefe D recalled asking at the meeting. “[Zip said], ‘[Diddy] ain’t give it to me yet.’ We need money, m###########. They took our guns, all that s###. We need some money. They must got millions.”

Keefe D went to prison for unrelated charges in 1998. After serving a four-year sentence, his associate Wynn Prince encountered Diddy at a party at Snoop Dogg’s house in Los Angeles County. Prince, who supposedly thought Keefe D was on house arrest, inquired about payment for Shakur’s murder. Diddy allegedly gave Prince a phone number to call.

“If I would’ve seen his ass, ‘Gimme the jewelry and everything,’ you know?” Keefe D said. “Stupid m###########. I said, ‘You let him give you a number?’ That was so stupid! Why you didn’t get the jewelry?”

Keefe D told police he called the number given to Prince.

“[Diddy] ain’t answer,” Keefe D said. “That man got about 50 phones. He can throw that s### away. He gets phones easy.”

Keefe D admitted he hadn’t talked to Diddy or Martin since leaving prison. The murder suspect revealed a desperate attempt to confront Diddy about the lack of payment in 2008.

“When he got that Walk of Fame m###########, I was right there!” Keefe D said. “But there was too many [police[ around there.”

According to Keefe D, he allegedly met an associate of Martin before speaking to police as part of a proffer agreement. The associate told Keefe D, “Zip got paid.” Martin keeping the money for himself led to Keefe D’s confession.

“I think if he would’ve just gave us half the money, we … I would’ve stayed strong,” Keefe D said. “Like, ‘F### it.’”

Keefe D was arrested for Shakur’s murder in 2023. He awaits trial in Nevada.

Allegations of Diddy putting a hit on Shakur resurfaced in July. Prosecutors cited Keefe D’s past accusations in a court filing.

“[Keefe D] has asserted publicly that he only told on himself and wasn’t trying to provide evidence against anyone else in his conversations with police,” prosecutors wrote. “However, this statement belies this claim, as he suggested that Sean Combs paid Eric Von Martin a million dollars for the killings as well as offered to set up a surreptitious phone call with Terrence Brown, the driver, who, at the time, was still alive.”

Shakur’s family hired attorney Alex Spiro, among others, to investigate the allegations against Diddy. The Hip-Hop mogul has repeatedly denied any involvement in Tupac Shakur’s death.

Cardi B Threatens To Beat Up Angry Apartment Resident In Profanity-Laced Video

Cardi B clashed with a New York apartment resident in footage captured by an onlooker around 1 a.m. ET on July 29. A video of the incident surfaced via the New York Post on Monday (August 5).

The resident was seen yelling at a group of people taking pictures in her apartment’s driveway. She allegedly kicked a Cybertruck parked outside the building, leading to an argument with Cardi B.

“There were a group of people who came outside my building to take pictures,” an onlooker explained. “One of the tenants was upset that they were taking pictures and said she can’t be there. She then kicked the Cybertruck and Cardi B starts shouting.”

Cardi B shouted at the woman, “You harassed them. You touched their car. I saw you. I recorded you. I’m recording you, b####! I’ll f### you up for real.”

A passerby recognized Cardi B’s voice amid the shouting. The person was stunned to realize it was truly her.

“All of a sudden I heard Cardi B’s voice and I was like ‘no way is that her,’” the onlooker told the publication. “I turned around to see her and I was like, ‘No way, what the f###? I walked over and I couldn’t believe it was Cardi B.”

Footage of the verbal altercation emerged days after Cardi B filed for divorce from her estranged husband Offset. The Atlantic Records rapper also announced she was pregnant with their third child.

“With every ending comes a new beginning!” she wrote on Instagram. “I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power! Reminded me that I can have it all!

“You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do! It’s so much easier taking life’s twists, turns and test laying down, but you, your brother and your sister have shown me why it’s worth it to push through!”

Despite the divorce, Cardi B defended Offset against reports claiming he was “more of a distraction than support.” She denied requesting child support, saying she only wanted him to “pay for the bills he already pays on the kids and the new one.”

Kehlani’s Ex Claims She’s Part Of Sex Cult Amid Contentious Custody Battle

Javaughn Young-White, the father of Kehlani’s daughter, accused the singer of endangering their child. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Young-White sought full custody of their daughter Adeya Nomi due to Kehlani’s alleged ties to a sex cult.

Young-White claimed Kehlani’s been involved in the cult for a few years. Young-White feared for his daughter’s safety, citing sexual assault allegations against the cult’s leader. The father believed the cult leader was influencing Kehlani’s decisions, preventing him from seeing their daughter.

Kehlani and Young-White’s child was born in 2019. The two split up in 2020.

Sex cult allegations emerged on the heels of backlash to Kehlani’s friendly interaction with Chris Brown. A photo of the two upset fans, who condemned Kehlani for associating with Brown due to his history of domestic violence. Fans thought it was hypocritical for her to associate with Brown due to her public stance on the humanitarian crisis in Palestine. Kehlani called out her peers for their silence regarding Israeli’s attacks on Palestinians in May.

“This s### is f###### me up BEEN f###### me up it should be f###### a lot of yall up but apparently it’s not????” she wrote on social media. “what’s good yall??? we don’t sell out shows without A CROWD FULL OF PEOPLE. the songs don’t chart without PEOPLE. the trends don’t trend without PEOPLE. you don’t draw a line at beheaded babies or people burnt alive after 7 months the of plenty of other atrocities ? idc about the roll out the formula the strategy the algorithm at this point i’m begging U TO BE PEOPLE. BE A F##### HUMAN BEING.”

Kehlani said her political views resulted in collaborators ghosting her while making her latest album. She released her album Crash in June. It debuted at No. 25 on the Billboard 200.
