(AllHipHop News) New York rapper Chinx life was cut short in May before the 31-year-old was able to break out as a major star. According to Jack Thriller, the Coke Boys affiliate was set to be featured on a major television platform before his death.
In an interview with Mikey T The Movie Star, the Atlanta born comedian revealed he was in the process of helping Chinx appear on Nick Cannon’s MTV2 comedy improv show Wild ‘N Out. Thriller is a cast member on the series.
“The first time I ever met him was on my first episode of Wild ‘N Out three years ago,” said Thriller. “He was asking me to get him on this season of Wild ‘N Out, and I had hit Nick [Cannon] up about the sh*t too. Nick was gonna put him on this season of Wild ‘N Out.”
Over the weekend, the DC Comics Nation sent dropped an atomic bomb at San Diego Comic con with the release of the official trailer to Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice. After watching it a couple thousand times, along with the millions of others, I have come to find a few things (along with the rest of the world). This is what I have concluded – check it out!
1) Yes, it looks as if it will be epic. Look at the trailer again.
2) Batman Will Be Brooding and Brooding and Brooding…
Batman has always been the darkest, acclaimed character DC has produced and “Batman vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice” will be a broodfest. Check the pictures out.
“MF…I can brood!”
2.5) Robin is dead.
The Joker is around the corner. Believe that.
2.5) Superman Will Be Brooding Too
Even as Clark Kent…I’m moody!
3) Batman Will Kick A$$!
If you know comics, you know that Batman has the capability to beat Superman. How this will play out in BVS remains to be seen.
//
4) Wonder Woman Will F**k Sh!it up!
WW is probably the most exciting aspect to BVS! Can’t wait to see how they set her up.
5) Superman the mutant?
I am an admitted Marvel Head so perhaps my biases are coming out. I have crazy love for Batman as a character and have learned to live with Superman. However, this storyline of Superman as the alien feels very much like the premise of mutants in the Marvel Universe. Growing up, I’ve never known Superman to be anything but a friend of the people. Batman was the controversial one. The trailer suggests that Batman will become the hero and Supes the subject of scorn.
5.5) Superman the god?
I can’t with this exploration of Superman as a god..and the evil? Pick one!
6) DC will again…delve into Batman’s origin…yes…again.
Batman’s tortured origin is as much of history as real history. Man, woman and child know he lost his parents as a boy, was consumed by it and become a vigilante because of it. Hopefully they don’t over do it.
7) There will be weird sh*t in there – #1.
This weird Lex Luther that is considerably younger than both Batman and Superman. AND he has a lot of hair, which will probably go bye-bye from hanging out with Kryponite so much. Also, what is with “the red capes are coming?” stuff? Are they just looking to be odd ball for the sake of being odd ball? For the record, that’s not always a bad thing.
8) There will be weird sh*t in there – #2.
Why is Batman in some sort of vintage get up fighting thugs with Superman’s “S” on it? Let me find out Supes got thugs on the payroll. Certainly this will get explained and yet…I don’t have any reference for it. Maybe these are the red capes…with no capes.
9) This will be one dark movie.
Superman from the 80’s was a pretty happy dude. Historically, Batman wasn’t nearly as dark until Frank Miller got to him in the Dark Knight graphic novel series (he gets a brief look in the movie: seen below). This move looks to take a nod for Hollywood’s love for dystopia. Hey, I love those moves – no pushback here!
10) DC seeks to give Marvel a run, but I can’t help but think they are bat-winging it a little bit.
Certainly they are getting it together and “Batman vs Superman” looks stunning. However, many of us still remember “Dark Knight Rises,” where the Dark Knight seemingly was obliterated and broke. Zod pops up in the trailer too. Suddenly, Bruce Wayne just happens to be in Metropolis when Superman and General Zod destroy the city, killing thousands? He’s mad at Superman, knowing that Zod was the real reason for the mass destruction? Yes, he has personal reasons, but still… Then there’s a glimmer of a random Aqua Man looking fellow swimming. I don’t know, but it is a great conversation piece for us all to brood over over. After millions and millions of views, fanfare to match and DC (and Marvel) heads screaming victory…this movie is already a hit.
10.5) Batman gives no f## about this faux god alien of light.
Awesome Nobody is a lyrically skilled artist with unique style of rap who has been consistently building a solid fan base by doing shows in the NJ/NYC area and releasing quality music.
Awesome is a self proclaimed attribute short for “Awesome Nobody” that comes from the catch phrase “Somebody Awesome, but Nobody Special”! The term “Awesome” is a self realization and reminder just how very blessed and talented we all can be, emphasizing we are all “Awesome Individuals”. In comparison, its the same principle behind the “the Anonymous Nobody” used by De La Soul in 2015 that states there are no egos, no seniority, no bosses, just a group of equal “Nobodies” working towards one goal; making music!! The term “Nobody” in the name Awesome Nobody means a silent champion or brave individual “A Nobody” in a sense, that steps in to save the day who does so for “The Cause”, “Not because! When you use this metaphor in relation to the music industry its applicable because there are so many artists and its seemingly impossible to make a name for yourself, so in essence you are a nobody, but if you embrace that fact, its actually a strength that can be used with great leverage, quotes Awesome.
Originally from the NJ/NYC area, Awesome Nobody is dropping his new single “GO GRIFF” on July 14th on iTunes, TIDAL, and Apple Music. What’s the best way to describe “Awesome’s music? According to Awesome, just as the name implies, “AWESOME”!! “Go Griff” is an upbeat, catchy, song full of meaning, lyricism and originality. The song is a perfect blend of lyricism and melody for an incredible musical journey into an AWESOME introduction of who he is. The song was produced by Atlantic Records super producer Go Grizzly (@GoGrizzly) who also produced hits for artists such as Cyhi the Prynce, Future, Kevin Gates, Young Dro, Trae The Truth, August Alsina, and Boldy James. Take a listen to his new single “GO GRIFF” below!

Warren G is back with a new track featuring late West Coast legend, Nate Dogg. The new song is titled” My House”, and features an interesting beat with a 2000’s vibe with it. “My House” is one of the songs off of Warren G’s upcoming project The G F### Era Part II EP, an EP that will follow up to G’s classic album that released over 20 years ago. Recently, Long Beach rapper Vince Staples stopped by Tim Westwood to do talk about his album and many things. However, things happened to get dope once Staples kicked a freestyle, rapping over the vicious beat by Kanye West “Get Em High”. Check out the freestyle below.
Sometimes, death can be something that brings the most improbable individuals in action. Today, that happens to be Chief Keef. According to P&P, the Chicago rapper is planning to have a tribute concert to help raise money for Dillon Harris. Harris was the 1-year old that was also killed during a shooting involving Capo, a fellow friend of Keef’s crew. Due to the legal warrants that the rapper has on him, Keef is definitely not going back to Chicago to perform. Instead, he’ll be performing via Hologram.
Chief Keef is also taking his movement against violence in Chi-Town to the next level. It has been reported that he is organization a foundation to prevent more violence like this in Chicago, according to the source.
On July 14, 2015 Public Enemy will release its 15th album, Man Plans God Laughs. One record on the album is called "H#### Tonk Rules" which covers the classic song "H#### Tonk Woman’ by the Rolling Stones. Chuck tells Tim why Public Enemy went the "whole 9 yards" to get clearance to use this song.
“I fought for this record because initially when we wanted to clear it, we were totally rejected by our publisher, their publisher….initially we we're rejected because they had a whole other thing in mind; they thought we were going to come across to them, like maybe P-Diddy or somebody and have like 18 different publishers on there. They don't want their records touched. They we're like you take it as it is and you give us our 100 percent. “

It looks like Chance the Rapper is a legit force to be reckoned with now, because his music has been garnering attention from a lot of big names. One of those names happen to be fellow Chicago-native, Kanye West. At the RBC Ottawa Music Awards, West called Chance “one of the most talented young new artists” during his set, according to HYPETRAK.

Both artists were set to perform at the music awards, so Ye had to show love for the unique artist from his hometown.

The eleventh year of the annual, Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival did not disappoint. An array of vendors were on location, and some even provided practical products to help enhance the festival experience. Two of of Hip-Hop’s core elements, both emceeing and deejaying, were highlighted throughout the concert. That’s right; no hiding behind show tracks — both live lyricism and turntabalism– were in full effect.
Using his quick wit and unblemished wordplay, host, Torae, effectively controlled the crowd. Asides from a slight trip and on-stage tumble, the Coney Island native did a superb job. Established and emerging artists were given the opportunity to rock the mic, and that they did. Chelsea Reject, Mike Floss, Bizzy Crook, Astro, Dyme-A-Duzin, and YC the Cynic stepped forward and proved that Hip-Hop’s future is in capable hands.
AllHipHop Video Recap
As the show progressed several artists incorporated live instrumentation. Towards the end of their set, with a revived vigor, the previously winded PitchBlak Brass Band recovered nicely and performed their song “Stopping Power.” Reinforced by a positive mindset, Charles Hamilton, massaged the keys while sharing his creativity. Incredible sixteens were delivered by Skyzoo as the accompanied trumpeter’s notes emphasized his sincerity. When the Bed-Stuy MC began “Woman Who Can Cook,” from Music for My Friends, the crowd eagerly recited the song. The nearly faultless blended harmony of JR and the PVD Band was a testament to Hip-Hop’s genre-blending nature, while Lion Babe used movement and sound to impact the crowd.
The appearance of Mobb Deep disrupted the lull that had momentarily threatened to possess the crowd. Time traveling down a nostalgic road of classic hits, everything from “Quiet Storm,” to “Shook Ones pt, 2” was given to an appreciative audience. Next, Freeway blessed the mic with his hits like “What We Do,” and his verse from “Two Words.”
Restlessness consumed the crowd as persistent sound issues derailed the show’s momentum. Different politicians and city elected officials took their turn on the mic and again proved that Hip-Hop has powerful and expansive reach. Speaking on the behalf of the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, a member of the FOI invited the assembled crowd to take part in 20th anniversary of the Million Man March which takes places in Washington D.C., on October, 10, 2015. Mere minutes turned into over an hour long wait for the show’s sound engineer to rectify the sound issues. Consequence popped up and spit rhymes to a blasé crowd.
Common “The Corner” & “The Food” LIVE at the 2015 Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival
When Common finally took the stage, the once vexed crowd instantly showed its love to the Chicago lyricist. Hands undulating up and down in a sea of audible ecstasy, the wordsmith kept giving hit after hit – even incorporating theatrical interpretations into his beloved body of work – but the highlight of his set was when the platinum-laced, Foxy Brown, joined him on stage.

Overall, the eleventh installment of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival went very well. What artists should be invited to next year’s lineup? Check out the slide for some exclusive photos from the event.
Since coming out, there has been chatter about how Action Bronson sounds a lot like Wu Tang legend Ghostface Killah. However, their interaction has always been respectful.
Action Bronson seemingly took a shot at Ghost in an interview with ESPN’s SportsNation after a bevy of compliments.
“I think [the comparison] is indifferent actually at this point. People compare Coke and Pepsi. People compare everything. No matter why, you’re gonna get a comparison to something and I’m just glad that he’s one of the greatest.”
Then he said:
He’s not rapping like this no more,” Bronson said. “No [shot]. Just being honest.
Check out the video to get the full interaction and the subtle nuances.
Common, fresh off of his performance from the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival, takes a moment to acknowledge a major achievement in the sports world, “The Serena Slam,” which is victories in 3 out of the 4 major Tennis Opens.
Since Common once dated Serena, he still hold her in high admiration. On Saturday July 11th, Serena won Wimbledon which marked her 21st majors victory. Only Steffi Graf has more victories at 22 major victories. Common made it a point to praise Serena as “the greatest” in tennis and also a “legend.”

The history of Sugar Hill Records is a storied one. The iconic label pumped Hip-Hop to the masses through the Sugar Hill Gang in 1979, who crafted the hit “Rapper’s Delight.” The song was an instant classic. Other acts would go on to sign to Sugar Hill as well, including Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, Sequence (which included singer Angie B), Funky Four Plus One, Crash Crew, Treacherous Three, and others.
Joey, Jr. and his siblings took over after their mother and label co-founder passed away.
Joey Robinson, Jr. was not without controversy.
Wonder Mike and Master Gee, two of the original members of The Sugar Hill Gang, have waged a fierce legal war against Robinson, Jr. Ultimately, they lost a legal battle in which they wanted the right to perform under the “Sugar Hill Gang” moniker. In recent years, they performed as Original Sugar, Rapper’s Delight Featuring Wonder Mike and Master Gee and other incarnations. Robinson, Big Bank Hank, another original member, would tour as the original Sugar Hill Gang. “I Want My Name Back” was the 2001 documentary the chronicled this battle over the Sugar Hill Gang name. Big Bank Hank died in November of 2014.
Dudes might be out here “juugin”, but no one’s touching the drug selling game like El Chapo. CNNhas reported that Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman has escaped from Altiplano Federal Prison yesterday, with a story that sounds like it’s been ripped right off of Shawshank Redemption. The Mexican drug lord’s escape was discovered during a routine check, when prison guards had found out that his room contained a hole that led to mile-long tunnel to freedom.
This isn’t the first time that El Chapo escaped a federal prison either. Guzman escaped a high-security prison in 2001, and was never apprehended until 2014. The report states that he escaped through a laundry cart. El Chapo also happens to be the head of Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most dominant and dangerous drug trafficking groups in the modern day. A thorough search has been launched to find and capture Guzman.
