Lil Wayne Misses ‘Fashion Rocks’ Due To Schedule

Fans tuning in to this year’s Fashion Rocks concert special on CBS tomorrow (September 9) and hoping to catch Lil’ Wayne’s performance may be disappointed as the rapper missed the date due to a scheduling conflict.

Wayne was scheduled to close out the New York Fashion Week kick-off event, which was taped at Radio City Music Hall on Friday (September 5) for a two-hour special broadcast on CBS tomorrow.

However, his appearance was cancelled at the last minute due to a change in the show’s line-up, AllHipHop.com has learned.

“They were looking for Wayne to appear earlier than he was set to perform,” Young Money Entertainment rep Cortez Bryant told AllHipHop.com. “He was five blocks away, caught in traffic in the Lincoln Tunnel. They said they wouldn’t hold the audience and they were cutting his show.”

Now in it’s fifth year, the star-studded Fashion Rocks event has become a Fashion Week staple, spotlighting the relationship between the world’s of music and fashion.

Presented by publishing giant Conde Nast, the combination concert/fashion show is also used as an opportunity to raise awareness of worthy causes.

This year, the charity of choice was Stand Up To Cancer, recently launched by the Entertainment Industry Foundation to raise money for cancer research.

Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Miley Cyrus and Natasha Bedingfield performed the organization’s signature single “Just Stand Up,” providing a live feed to the Stand Up telethon broadcast on ABC, NBC, and CBS simultaneously on Friday.

Additional performances were given by Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce.

ASCAP Songwriter of the Year Timbaland presented several of his most recent hits with assistance from Chris Cornell, The Pussycat Dolls and One Republic, before appearing to close out his set, just as a designer would close out a runway show.

Timberlake and Beyonce each paid homage to the past with covers of Marvin Gaye’s “Got To Give It Up” and Etta James’ “At Last.”

Also on hand were the Black Eyed Peas, Chris Brown, Kid Rock, Solange, and British Pop/Soul singer Duffy.

The Fashion Rocks special airs Tuesday, September 9 at 9 pm EST on CBS.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Crazed Jay-Z Fan Noel Gallagher of Oasis

THE VMA’s

JAY-Z FAN GOES CRAZY ON OASIS’ NOEL G!

LMAO. Before I even begin, let me state that there is

actually no evidence to support this notion: that a crazy Jay-Z fan spazzed on Noel

Gallagher of Oasis. Now, for my speculation. I think somebody was truly moved

when Oasis played in Toronto,

Canada at the V

Festival.  This dude was moved so much by

his love of Jay-Z that he ran on stage and shoved Noel to the ground as he

played his set in Canada.

The man just pushed him over. The crazy Jay-Z fan tried to get to his brother

too, but security was on that a$$ so fast, he didn’t make it. I mean, not to be

funny, but, Yung Berg, Floyd Mayweather, Tyga or I could use this security. Gallagher’s

brother Liam tried to get to the assailant, but security saved him from himself

and held him back.

Those Jay-Z fans sure are crazy if they are riding for their

homey like this!

JAY-Z STANS, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

AHH Stray News: Will Smith To Play Egyptian Pharaoh

Hip-Hop star and Hollywood’s top actor Will Smith will now ascend to a high role – god – in the new movie The Last Pharaoh. The drama was tailor made for Smith, who will play the role of Taharqa, a Nubian Egyptian Pharaoh, who battled the Assyrians during his 26-year-reign. According to Variety, the epic film will be written by Randall Wallace, the scribe behind movies such as Braveheart, The Man in the Iron Mask, and Pearl Harbor. Smith’s production company Overbrook Entertainment will also act as producer of The Last Pharaoh, which will be released via Columbia Pictures.

Kim Osorio: Straight Talk

It’s just your average evening at a Starbucks in New Jersey. Random teenagers are doing homework, old friends are catching up, and new couples are on first dates. Several months prior, Kim Osorio sat in that very same Starbucks penning her novel Straight from the Source – a partial tell-all about her time as the first female Editor-In-Chief of Hip-Hop’s original Bible. When Kim walks into Starbucks to sit and discuss the book she wrote there, she is comparable to a war soldier in that her emotions aren’t apparent until she discusses that period of her life. See, Hip-Hop has its set of elements that are heralded as the foundation. But Hip-Hop journalists sit by the sidelines and report the elements as they happen. Kim Osorio was an original b-girl whose love affair with Hip-Hop brought her to the greatest position a Hip-Hop journalist could have at the time…along with a set of memories that she will ultimately never forget.“This is a story that I’ve always wanted to tell,” Osorio explains about Straight from the Source. “There are people out there that have always tried to speak for me and always try to say what they want to say about what happened to me at The Source. So I wanted it to be documented by me in print, and I wanted to get it out there.” The novel details Osorio’s five years at the publication, starting with her hiring as Associate Editor in 2000 and leading up to her firing as Editor-In-Chief in 2005. While the book reads like a story, it’s far from fiction, as it’s a very honest tale of Osorio’s time at the since beleaguered magazine – for better or worse. The novel goes into great length about The Source’s overlords at the time – co-founder Dave Mays and rapper turned entrepreneur Raymond “Benzino” Scott, whose feud with Eminem both on and off wax spilled onto the pages of The Source much to the chagrin of its termination-fearing staff.

“For women it always comes down to the Scarlet Letter, sexual – oh my

God, it doesn’t matter what year, what millennium we’re in; we are

always looked at in that sort of light.”

“I just got to a point where I was like, ‘Okay they want another Eminem hate story, let’s do it,’” recalls Osorio. “I didn’t want to deal with the backlash of even saying anything positive about Eminem, because we all knew you would get fired [if you did].”Prior to accepting her post as EIC, Kim Osorio was romantically linked to two MCs in particular – Nas and 50 Cent. While many women who have “dated” rappers pen exposés on their time in bed, Osorio had to include her intimacies as they became reference points for both her mistreatment at The Source and later dishonorable mentions in a few rap tracks. In any industry as highly i##### as music, there’s bound to be love connections. However, the world applauds when Jay-Z and Beyonce canoodle, and eventually wed, but are appalled at the co-mingling of industry people (particularly women) with artists. No one crucified Tommy Mottola for finding his way toward Mariah Carey. However, Osorio’s history with artists was magnified and exaggerated. “The double standard is evident – not just in Hip-Hop – but in Hip-Hop it sure is magnified,” Osorio says. “I don’t think that I did anything wrong by dating people or being involved in relationships with people. For women it always comes down to the Scarlet Letter, sexual – oh my God, it doesn’t matter what year, what millennium we’re in; we are always looked at in that sort of light.” She comments on Hip-Hop’s unconditional adoration of the MC. “I love the way they hold rappers on a whole different level. Are you saying that no one is allowed to date anyone in the industry? Or are you saying writers aren’t allowed to date rappers? Or are you saying writers aren’t allowed to date anyone in the industry? What is it that you’re saying?”Osorio gives an eye roll and a shrug when she remembers the backlash at her job for her dealings with 50 Cent and Nas, but it’s obvious that it’s still a painful memory. Her novel highlights lewd comments from Benzino in addition to his countless racial slurs and misogynistic remarks to various members of The Source’s staff. Before even taking the publication to court for sexual discrimination (and settling for $7.5 million) Osorio, a Law School graduate, knew something was up. “There were things going down at The Source that were triggers like, ‘Wait a minute, that isn’t right. You can’t say that to me.’ And regardless if we were working in Hip-Hop or there were songs or we even liked songs that used the word b***h – whatever the case may be, you can’t use that to justify mistreatment of people in the workplace. Two totally separate things, and people don’t know how to make that distinction.”

“[50 Cent] should stick to beefing with rappers… Leave little ol’ me alone.”

Osorio marks her taking the position as Editor-In-Chief when everything truly erupted. “It really came to a head when I was in the position of power. Before there were definitely glimpses of things that I knew were wrong, but when you were on the other side – when you were not making the decisions and stuff – you were part of the editorial staff,” she says. “I don’t think there were too many times when the editorial staff itself treated women badly. The treatment I had been dealing with in the book was coming from the two individuals that were in control [Benzino and Mays] that I reported to.” To date, Straight from the Source is receiving excellent feedback from men and women alike. While Nas has yet to comment on his mention in the novel, 50 Cent has made disparaging remarks not only directed at Osorio, but all female journalists. “[50 Cent] should stick to beefing with rappers,” Osorio jokes. “Leave little ol’ me alone.” His inclusion of all female writers brings to light the ever-growing disrespect of women in Hip-Hop. “I think that unfortunately Hip-Hop has definitely mistreated women more as of lately,” Kim explains. “I saw so many different representations of women in the earlier years of Hip-Hop. Nowadays, you don’t see as much when it comes to women. You are really just given this image of a woman – of a video vixen – and that’s all you see. That one type of woman in Hip-Hop.” She continues, “That’s not to say that there aren’t other women behind the scenes – executives that are making it happen, writers, editors, artists – there’s a lot of that. For some reason they’re not making their way to the forefront. I think that’s a problem.”Osorio’s story is far from gender specific, as the isms she faced at The Source went above and beyond being a female. Her story is special given the circumstance and her importance in Hip-Hop history. The one question that looms overhead is why did it take a termination for Osorio to leave The Source? After a long pause, Kim responds, “I loved my job, despite everything that was happening there. I wanted to do a good job and make a name for myself. As things worsened, I had to weigh the options of having a child to take care of, bills to pay, and whether or not it was a good decision to leave. Being within Hip-Hop, that magazine, that was the top. That was where most journalists aspired to be.”

“No one is above the law. You can’t treat people that way. Just because it’s Hip-Hop does not make it okay.”

As the noise in Starbucks grows louder, Kim gets quieter once the discussion on the end of the story grows near. She points outside in the direction of a Borders, where she had her fateful meeting with an attorney regarding her problems at The Source. Even now when she references that secret meeting spot, she has a moment of apprehension – forgetting that it’s all over. Consequently, Kim Osorio filed a complaint with Human Resources against The Source big bosses, citing her grievances. When she refused to retract her complaint, she was fired. “My getting fired was a wake-up call,” Osorio states, and what followed was a heinous trial with Benzino and Dave Mays (who were later “relieved” of their duties at the magazine as well). Truth be told, Benzino made an example out of himself in the courtroom, with subtle insulting gestures, threats, and being thrown out of court on some occasions. As previously stated, Osorio’s sexual discrimination case was settled to the tune of $7.5 million. In speaking with Kim, though, it’s apparent that it really wasn’t about the money. “No one is above the law. You can’t treat people that way. Just because it’s Hip-Hop does not make it okay.” Osorio hasn’t picked up a copy of The Source since she left. Maybe it has something to do with the memories attached, but above all she seems disinterested. For someone who donated countless hours of her life to reporting on Hip-Hop, it seems that the game has desensitized her. Engaged and a mother of two, at this point in her life she has bigger fish to fry. While currently the Vice President of Content for the Hip-Hop aggregator Global Grind, Osorio has finally found a way to balance her personal life with her career. While Straight from the Source may be one of many books to expect from Kim Osorio, this novel marks her inevitable separation from one relationship with Hip-Hop, battle wounds included. “My decision to write this book was something that I knew I needed to do to grow out of what I did. Obviously my story took a turn and it became something different, but there was always that story…Hip-Hop from a woman’s point of view.”

MC Breed Off Life Support; Condition Still Serious

Two days after he was taken to the hospital for kidney failure after collapsing during a pick up game of basketball in Atlanta, rapper MC Breed has been taken off life support.

Although his condition has been upgraded, the rapper born Eric Breed, will remain at the hospital for at least another week under observation.

Breed collapsed and fell unconscious Friday (September 5) on the basketball court while playing the pick up game.

The rapper was later rushed to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed him and informed him his kidneys had failed.

At this time, he is slowly recognizing faces and voices while recovering. Family members told AllHipHop.com that “severe high blood pressure” was one of the reasons why MC Breed suffered from such a serious health condition.

Prior to his collapse, Breed was preparing to release an album titled Original Breed that featured West Coast rap icon Too $hort.

Plans also call for the release of a DVD, titled Where is MC Breed. The film will chronicle Breed’s 17-year career as an artist while featuring rare footage.

Nightclub Where Yung Berg Assaulted Sued For $15 Million

The Detroit nightclub where rapper Yung Berg was attacked last month has been named as a plaintiff in two lawsuits related to violent incidents at the venue.

The most recent suit, a wrongful death suit, was filed against Plan B Nightclub, Inc. and two of its bouncers on August 15, just one week before Berg’s notorious altercation.

According to reports, the lawsuit was filed by attorney Jerome Goldberg on behalf of 22-year-old Perry Deshawn Freeman, who was allegedly shot in the back by Alwalie Barber and/or Steven Ray Gatson in February of this year.

Court documents reveal that Barber and Gatson are accused of firing lethal hollow-point bullets at Freeman as he ran from them behind the downtown Detroit venue.

Following Freeman’s death, police documents claimed that he had fired the first shot after being asked to leave the venue for dancing on a table.

However, police records showed no evidence linking the gun Freeman allegedly possessed to the victim, nor did they show any proof that he had fired a gun.

Neither bouncer has been prosecuted to date.

Goldberg is seeking monetary damages in Freeman’s death as well as a jury trial.

An earlier lawsuit filed against Plan B Nightclub seeks compensation in the amount of $15 million in the attack of plaintiff Victor Smith, who was allegedly beaten by members of the club’s security staff in April.

In the action filed by Smith’s attorney Thomas Randolph, several of his friends corroborated his account of the beating, which left him physically and mentally affected.

According to Smith’s friends, the victim was taken into a private room by the bouncers, after he complained that a female patron had spit on him.

They went on to say that they were restrained by other bouncers guarding the door, but could hear sounds of a struggle in the room.

They later found Smith unconscious and injured outside the club.

The Smith lawsuit goes on to ask that the “corporate veil of secrecy” on Plan B be explored, as the club does not seem to have a state or city liquor license or permit.

Reports have named Detroit rapper Trick Trick, who has featured the club in his videos, as one of the nightclub’s owners.

Flesh-N-Bone: Unbreakable

He has spent the better part of the millennium stuck inside a six by nine cell, held behind cold walls and dealing with conditions that could break even the strongest man’s spirit. Coupled with the fact the group he helped elevate to superstar status had broken apart at the seams, one wouldn’t blame Stanley “Flesh-N-Bone” Howse for living life with a sense of bitterness. However, what would have broken a lesser man only made the Cleveland native stronger. While the Bone camp may have been dealing with turmoil on the outside, Flesh was formulating a master plan on the inside.  On July 13, 2008 that plan was finally put in motion. After spending almost a decade behind the walls, Flesh walked the world a free man. With the other four remaining Bone members there to greet him, Flesh and his comrades wasted no time doing what they do best and hit the studio. In ’94, Flesh was the Bone who bought the bus tickets that began Bone’s historical run in the game. Fourteen years later his release has spearheaded a new sense of unity and resolve between the Thugs that hasn’t been seen for quite some time. For the first time since his release Flesh has broken his silence for an exclusive interview AllHipHop.com. Pay heed.  AllHipHop.com: Try and put into words the feeling you had when you finally were released from jail after almost ten years on the inside?Flesh-N-Bone: Words can’t even begin to explain the feeling that I had after being locked down for damn near a decade. The best way for me to describe it is to tell you that it was like a rebirth, a second chance at a new life, and a relief. It was over the top. I’ll never forget it. I thank God for giving me the immense blessing of the sense of complete freedom.Bone Thugs-N-Harmony “Foe The Love Of Money” VideoAllHipHop.com: Jail is certainly not the spot anyone wants to be at, but was there anything positive you were able to take out of your bid?Flesh-N-Bone: Looking back, I can tell you that I was definitely able to extract a lot of good out of the experience of being in prison. That’s not to say that it wasn’t complete hell and torture but my incarceration was like a major blessing in disguise. It was something that left me with not much choice but to open up myself to realizing that I had to accept, deal with, and get rid of every last one of my shortcomings in order to make myself better as a human being. Taking on the responsibility of owning up to everything that I did wrong in my life up to the point that I was incarcerated and then correcting it all was no easy feat but it was definitely necessary in order for my life to get better. That’s what being in prison did for me and looking back, I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

“We have all perfected our God-given gift and we have matured as men and as artists to the point where we are able to relate to the human struggle even more now than we ever have before and create music that is relevant and inspiring to all walks of life.”

AllHipHop.com: Describe the feeling of finally getting back into the studio and how important it was that it was with the rest of Bone?Flesh-N-Bone: My music is my career, it’s my craft and my passion. Being kept away from really being able to produce my music at the level that it needed to be done made me all that much more grateful and anxious to be able to hit the studio. The fact that all five of us founding members of Bone were in the studio together was of monumental importance too. We all had to be there. There was gonna be no way around that. That was very important to me, to the rest of Bone, and I think that it was just as important to the fans as well. It’s more than a blessing to have the opportunity to record again at that magnitude together with the entire group. Another reason why it was so important for us to be as productive as we have been since my release from prison is because we were written off by so many people who we thought were in our corner. It’s not hard for us to tell if the intentions of industry folk toward us are for the sake of our benefit or not. You have to understand that people thought that it was impossible for us to get back together and they questioned whether we still had the ability to create and deliver. Throughout our individual struggles during the past decade, we have all perfected our God-given gift and we have matured as men and as artists to the point where we are able to relate to the human struggle even more now than we ever have before and create music that is relevant and inspiring to all walks of life. It’s important for us to vindicate ourselves of the unfairness and the lack of respect that has been directed toward us. Being back working this way, together, is important because it sends the message loud and clear that we are still here, still standing strong, and still willing to weather any battle or storm.  AllHipHop.com: In ’94 you were the one who bought the bus tickets to L.A. that started the whole Eazy-E and Bone connection that really got things rolling. Fourteen years later your release from jail seemed to bring the group back together. Talk about the parallels about the start of your career to now.Flesh-N-Bone: There are many parallels between 1994 and 2008. I’m taken aback by how history repeats itself and I’m grateful to have the same feelings of strong determination, noble aspirations and unshakable will power. I thank God for instilling in me this gift to remain diligent and hungry for improvement. There is absolutely nothing in God’s creation that I don’t see us being able to accomplish and that feeling still remains strong. I had the dream of being able to help us get to the level where we could share our craft with the entire world when I bought those tickets. Thank God that through diligence and hard-core faith and work the dream actually became a reality just like the dream of us reuniting also became a reality.

“We’re not at liberty to discuss any release dates at this point but

when the new album finally drops, the fans can expect to enjoy that

innovative and legendary Bone Thug music…”

AllHipHop.com: How has the vibe been in the studio with all five Bone members finally back together?Flesh-N-Bone: So far, the recording process has been greater than all five of us could ever have fathomed. We have far exceeded our own expectations in all this. We are reaching new heights of perfection. These days our vibe is more powerful and miraculous than it was when we first started it off as teenagers. We’re literally musical composers and lyrical technicians. We’re not at liberty to discuss any release dates at this point but when the new album finally drops, the fans can expect to enjoy that innovative and legendary Bone Thug music that has always been known to raise the bar and set the standard. Flesh-N-Bone “World So Cruel” VideoAllHipHop.com: There has also been word that you guys are working on a reality show. What’s the word on that?Flesh-N-Bone: The reality show has been going great. Even in its production stages it’s amazing to see how much demand there is for it already. What we wanted to do with this project was to give the world an inside view on the exclusive lives of Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The show is about living in harmony. It’s also about how we deal with and solve conflict, how we cope with the hard times, and how we take what goes on in our lives to use as fuel for our creativity. This project is one that other families from all walks of life all over the world can relate to. We want to show that we share in the same struggles as everybody else living this life. What we also want is for others to be able to extract and gain from our lives and our experiences. Our lives are examples of how it doesn’t matter what kind of a background you come from because everyone has the ability to rise from the trenches of less favorable conditions and accomplish greatness. We want to give everyone out there our formula of success so that they can gain whatever it is that is meant for them to gain from it. Fans will get to see what makes us tick and what makes us who we are as artists and individuals. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony will once again raise the bar and set the standard in this business with the release of our reality show. AllHipHop.com: What’s been the most surprising thing you’ve encountered since your release from prison? Flesh-N-Bone: The most surprising thing that I have experienced so far since my release has been the amount of love and support that the fans have given me and the rest of Bone from all over the world. We have received love from people from literally every corner of the globe from the tiniest countries in Africa all the way to top executives in the industry in Hollywood. It’s exciting to see how the projects that we’re putting all this work into have turned into the most highly anticipated projects ever. AllHipHop.com: Is there anything you and the group have in the works besides the new Bone album?Flesh-N-Bone: Right now we’re working on a whole arsenal of projects besides the new Bone Thugs album. Just to give you a few, we have the reality show, we have our solo projects, we’re working with film executives to further our aspirations on the big screen, and we’re also expanding our entertainment base to the Internet which will include never before used technology. Our fans really deserve the best and we’re going to stop at nothing to provide them with nothing less than that.

“We’re not interested in putting forth anything that isn’t going to help, motivate and inspire others in a positive way.”

AllHipHop.com: You guys have gotten back together only to break up again in the past. Why should fans look at this reunion differently and not expect that to happen again?Flesh-N-Bone: We have separated in the past mainly because of the fact that we had to experience our own individuality but that never meant that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony didn’t exist anymore. It was just all part of the master plan by which we matured and evolved into who we are today. What’s different about us getting back together now is that we have learned how important it is to strive to stick together and keep it strong. There’s something unmistakable about us when we’re together and we realize that now more than ever because this last separation was the most difficult one that we have ever been through. We all went through the hardest times of our lives during the past decade but we learned from our mistakes. Without the mistakes and the hard times we would not have became the men that we are today.   AllHipHop.com: Any last message you want to put out there for the fans?Flesh-N-Bone: What we want to convey to all the fans is that we have all the love in the world for you all. The feedback that we always receive is about how we have touched other people’s lives through our music. That means the world to us because that has always been our aim. We’re not interested in putting forth anything that isn’t going to help, motivate and inspire others in a positive way. I can’t even begin to tell you how grateful we are to have been able to accomplish our mission in that sense. Throughout all of the years our fans have thanked us time and time again for how much we have helped them through the worst times of their lives but what we want all of them to know is that the pleasure will always be ours.  Flesh-N-Bone “Player Hater (Live)” Video

Hip-Hop Rumors: T.I. Almost Beat Up C. Brown? Beyonce’s Rock Shows Up! Palin’s Black Grandson?

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

THE VMA’s

THe VMA’s were OK. If you missed it or want a running diary of the evening, click here.

KANYE’S NEW STYLE

I heard a rumor that I think maybe coming true. I don’t know, but i heard that on Kanye’s next album, he is going to use the vocoder the whole thing. When I first heard this, I dismissed it as a pure lie, but I thought about what I heard from him in the last few appearances. Then I heard his new singing song last night, and that solidified that rumor for me. We’ll see. I’m not sure how T-Pain is going to feel about it…LOL.

T.I. REHEARSES TO BEAT CHRIS BROWN’S A$$!

You know T.I. has a mean streak and I heard that it almost bubbled over this weekend. Now, I heard that Chris Brow had somehow “crashed” the rehearsal session with T.I and Rihanna for that new T.I. song. I can’t remember the name and I am being lazy. But, I heard the situation was tense, because Chris was interloping. Somebody talked to mediatakeout.com and detailed the near-fight. Chris Brown allegedly interrupted the T.I. and Rihanna time together because Brownie was clowing around the stage area. Tip reportedly said, “Can someone get this little [cuss word] out of here?” They said Chris Brown said something slick, a move that almost got him beat down. T.I. said, “I’m not playing with that boy, I’ll hurt him.” They made Chris leave.

AKON IS OFF THE HOOK

The promoters of the Akon show in Guyana have released a statement saying there was no beef at that show where he allegedly struck a female fan.

“We are shocked to hear that there is a video clip circulating that suggests Akon treated a fan badly during his August 30th performance in Guyana. There were no incident reports stemming from the event. Despite a late start, the concert was a tremendous success and we hope that Akon will come back soon.”

I hope so. Akon is so cool and this is no Guyana Tragedy.

THE REAL DEAL ON LIL WAYNE/40 GLOCC/SPIDER LOC

Somebody hit me up about the whole 40 Glocc thingy. I mean, I know its ancient history, but since Wayne refused to answer, here is some more info.

“1st 40 Glocc didnt do anything, he f**ked up the whole situation, it wasnt even going to go down like that. Spider was the one who set up that situation and was headed over to speak to lil wayne, 40 Glocc popped up at Spiders studio with the lil live cam and when the people at the studio told him Spider had left to go holla at lil wayne, he promptly followed the large group of people with live cam in tow, then hopped out the car and started slapping baby and slims suv windows, yelling out this crip. Now for the most part everybody that was with Spider THOUGHT 40 Glocc had some pull or something and they mistakenly started doing the same with all the hollering and yelling. But thats all it was, and then they called security, and 40 Glocc was the first 1 out of there, and Spider wasnt able to go talk to Lil Wayne how he wanted too, and the whole thing blew up into 40 Glocc vs Lil Wayne, when in reality 40 has no legitimate problems with dude, and jumped on Spiders bandwagon then makes the whole thing a publicity stunt. The point being Spider knew Lil Wayne was there and was going to talk to him and 40 Glocc comes f###### up the situation making n***az look stupid.”

Ludacris is decidedly looking to move into acting fulltime. Even though there are some legitimate 40-year-old rappers, he’ll have none of it.

Have y’all seen commercials for the new Sam Jackson movie with that fly chick? Well, I heard the story is based on a real life series of events. The only thing is, I heard the case is still ongoing and he still lives next to them. LOL!

Check out Lil’ Wayne as he “calls out” Eminem to do a track with him. Earlier this year he said Em was “afraid” to get on a track with him.

I heard Travis from Gym Class Heroes is dating a singer named Patty Crash, who lives in Philly by way of Iceland.

I am hearing that Grand Puba of Brand Nubian is not locked up for reasons unknown. I hope not.

PALIN’S DAUGHTER HAS A BLACK BABY DADDY?

Check out this video. This dude is claiming that he’s not allowed to see the birth of his kid. He claims that he’s the actual baby daddy and that other fellow is a better person politically. I don’t think this baby is going to drop before the election. I wanna see what he/she looks like.

This plot has thickened. They might reconsider their views on abortion if they think the father is Black. LMAO!

For anyone who is concerned; Game killed Bow Wow in the Konsole Kings Madden Challenge. As a matter of fact, little man got skunked in the first quarter. JD showed up, I guess as moral support; but it doesn’t seem his presence helped much. The final score was 55-23. Maybe Lil Wow had his new lady on his mind. Ante up son. Bow Wow claims Game cheated. Think what you want about the lil lady, bottom line is she’s smart as hell. The oxygen has met the spark and she’s fanning the flame daily. This is what she has to say about her interview with Toure during which he suggested EIC’s doing the horizontal mambo with artists is bad business:

“I know you haven’t heard of the sex police, but reading this excerpt reminds me that they are out there. I have a confession to make. I had sex…. Now, the sex police are looking for me. They have invaded hip-hop and I wanted to warn my fellow women. Be careful who you have sex with. And don’t ever EVER talk about it. As a matter of fact, just stop having sex or they will find you. I have identified one of them. Earlier this week, secret agent Toure of the Black Carpet division. I am looking for more, and I will warn you when they reveal themselves.”

Can’t Be Too Mad at Bleek Now Huh?

[Illseed note: Love LL Cool J…definitely not a fan of this mockery of his true swagger in the 80s! We don’t generally do commercials, but this one is apalling!]

ILL VID

Some kids are in the library working on a project. I didn’t even realize people still went to those things call libraries. Anyway, this guy went to the library, got off his computer hoping to come back to finish his project. When he returns, a girl is at his computer. According to the dude, she refused to give him his spot back AND she (either intentionally or by accident) deletes his entire project. The following is what happens next:

AHH WEEK!

Kanye Debuts New Song; Lil Wayne Wins At VMA’s

Cash Money Records rap star Lil Wayne and R&B crooner Chris Brown emerged as winners Sunday (September 7) during the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards.

Lil Wayne, who took home the award for Hip-Hop video of the year for his Static Major-assisted hit “Lollipop,” was very brief in his acceptance speech with only three acknowledgements.

“Thank God. Thank my family and thank y’all,” said the rapper, whose performance was introduced by Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps.

With Leona Lewis providing vocals on the hook for “DontGetIt,” Lil Wayne finished his energetic set with “A Millie” and “Got Money” with T-Pain.

The rapper reappeared onstage with Kid Rock to provide a rap during Rock’s performance of his hit “All Summer Long.”

Lil Wayne wasn’t the only artist doing double duty on the VMA stage. R&B/pop diva Rihanna took the stage with T.I. to perform “Live Your Life.”

The Atlanta rapper started his set with his latest song “Whatever You Like” and prior to the T.I. duet, Rihanna provided the show’s first performance dressed in goth attire, with her dancers for “Disturbia.”

Despite capturing the VMA for Best Male Video for “With You,” Brown felt undeserving of the honor.

“Personally, I didn’t think I deserved this award,” said the singer who thanked his fans, record label and mother. “I thought Weezy was going to get it.”

While Brown and Lil Wayne collected their own VMAs, the night’s big winner was Britney Spears who rebounded from her less than stellar 2007 VMA opening performance, by earning three awards for Female Video, Pop Video and Video of the Year for “Piece of Me.”

Other VMA performers included LL Cool J, Pink, Lupe Fiasco, Paramore, Christina Aguilera, Katy Perry and Kanye West, who closed the more than two-hour show with “Love Lockdown,” a new song that is expected to appear on his upcoming fourth album.

West’s performance came in direct contrast to his boycott of the VMAs following his criticism of last year’s show.

In addition to Lil Wayne, Brown and Spears VMAs were awarded to the Pussycat Dolls (Dancing in a Video) and Linkin Park (Rock Video).

The following is list of winner for the 25th annual MTV Video Music Awards:

Video of the Year: Britney Spears, “Piece of Me” Female Video: Britney Spears “Piece of Me”

Male Video: Chris Brown, “With You” Rock Video: Linkin Park, “Shadow of the Day” Hip-Hop Video: Lil Wayne, “Lollipop” Pop Video: Britney Spears, “Piece of Me” Dancing in a Video: The Pussycat Dolls, “When I Grow Up” New Artist: Tokio Hotel

The MTV VMA’s: A Running Diary

Okay, so we’ve survived the new episode of The Hills and laughed our way through the red carpet ride. It’s time for the MTV VMA Awards. I have Entourage DVR’ed so I can be your official running diary throughout the Award show. Don’t feel like watching it? Just keep visiting here and drop some comments too. It’s a family affair!Let’s recap a few things about the opening act:-Sway following stars in a helicopter? Stalker! I demand more from you, Sway. -Katy Perry gets out of her limo with her “date” Miley Cyrus, but gets overshadowed by the T-Pain circus. He rode in on an elephant. I refuse to judge him, though.-Pink has white hair. Should we call her White now? About time someone pointed that out right?-Jordin Sparks can’t stop giggling, but we love her just the same.-Kid Rock will be performing with Lil Wayne and said he “sorta” made it to rehearsal. Oh good.-Kanye “I am never attending another VMA’s” West will be closing out the show.-America’s Best Dance Crew had KABA Modern dance to Ne-Yo’s “Closer” and they were all dressed like Justin Timberlake. The Fanny Pack dressed in bridal gear and danced to Danity Kane’s “Damaged.” The winner gets to perform at the VMA’s.8:55PM There’s a long line of limos being stalked by Sway. Looks like a traffic jam. This show is going to start late. I knew it. They kept pushing that “9PM sharp” business. Britney Spears is opening. I’m counting on you, Spears.9:00PM LOL what? Britney Spears and Jonah? Britney looks sober. See Amy, there’s hope for you. She better sing is all I’m saying. This skit is getting to me. Someone coke her up and put her back on the stage with a belly. 9:05PM Awwww I’m actually rooting for Brit Brit. Anyone who asks the Clutch to write her album is cool with me. They’re like taping her entire walk to the stage. She looks very together. I repeat – Amy, there is hope. She isn’t singing though. She’s introducing the 25th Anniversary of the VMA’s. 9:15PM Stick men holding light sabers while Rihanna is yelping with a super long weave. Strike that – a weave mullet. She got that right…Disturbia indeed.9:20PM Russell Brand gets the award for being the opposite of funny. Congratulations and accept your moonman. Jamie Foxx still thinks he’s Ray Charles with his stunna shades. Britney won Female Video and thanked her sons. I’m happy for her. 9:25PM Chris Brown gets the Male Video Award. Shocker.9:30PM The Jonas Brothers. Why why why, and why is Katy Perry singing “Like a Virgin”?9:40PM Katy Perry is back with “I Kissed a Girl” and R-Bra says something about cherry chapstick on his testicles. Nice. Michael Phelps loves Hip-Hop so he gets to be here. I bet he’ll be at every Hip-Hop Award show too.9:42PM I wish Lil Wayne would stop touching himself while he rhymes. Leona Lewis is starting to look like Alicia Keys-lite. It is all about the UK tonight geez. Oh thank goodness it’s annoying ass “A Milli.” As if this show couldn’t get any worse. T-Pain to follow. This is like slitting your wrists then swallowing glass.9:45PM I am not completely against this performance. However, I am against the standing ovation. Sit down people, it’s called Auto-Tune.9:50PM Ciara and Lindsay Lohan-Ronson announce that Fanny Pack won the dance battle. Where are the Jabbawockeez? The Pussycat Dolls win for “When I Grow Up” best dance video. They dance in that video? I thought they sat in a car the whole time. Ciara is singing their song to them as they hop on “stage.” Nicole Scherzinger is all, “I get to talk the most even though my solo album tanked.”9:55PM Danity Kane is counting votes for everyone but themselves on Sidekicks. My vote is for Jordin Sparks.10:00PM Who the hell are these people? I don’t mean Paramore, I meant that gang of kids who looked like a broke version of The Hills. I’ll call them The Valley. 10:05PM Paramore didn’t do too badly. Russell Brand noticed that Lil Wayne touched himself too much too.10:10PM Slash from Guns n Roses / Velvet Revolver and Shia LaBeouf? What? Best Rock Video is on now. Okay let me just say right now that Slipknot scares the sh*t out of me. I bet Fall Out Boy wins with “Beat It.” They should dedicate that to Lil Wayne, because that’s what he looked like he was doing during his performance. Wow Linkin Park won. The love of my life Mike Shinoda didn’t show up. That’s because he’s here at home with me. Miley Cyrus is singing Bon Jovi and playing Rock Band. I’m not laughing with her, I’m laughing at her. Here comes Pink outdoors.10:15PM Is it me or did Pink steal the set from Rent? She got it on clearance since it’s going off Broadway. This performance is pretty good. Pink always delivers…if this new album tanks, she’ll be delivering pizzas. Look at me, I’m Pink and I’m so badass that I make raspberries at the end of my song. Whoops wardrobe malfunction!10:20PM Stop talking Ashlee. Keep talking Pete. Here comes the best Hip-Hop Video, with Slipknot delivering it. Agh! Who is the masked guy? Is that McLovin? Why is Superbad all over this show? Oh right, because it’s Super…Bad.10:25PM Lil Wayne wins for “Lollipop” and looks like he lost his way to the stage. Jordin Sparks is discussing promise rings and s####. Yay T.I.!10:30PM Whoa cool T.I. performance, where he made it like filming a video. WHOA WHOA WHOA Rihanna and her mullet are RUINING “Live Ya Life.” She needs to be Auto-Tuned out. A moment of silence for the song “Live Ya Life.” Rihanna murdered it, and I don’t mean that in the “cool” sense. It died just now. Like dead. As in buried.10:35PM The cast of High School Musical is here to announce Christina Aguilera. She’s putting her career on a screen to remind everyone that she actually had one. Why does she look like Pamela Anderson-Lee? Xtina is a lil thick in the thighs *pause* Her voice is always good, even when it’s being played on a track that she’s lip synching. 10:40PM Russell Brand is apologizing for the promise rings remark and shouts out pissing on vs. pissing off teenagers. Hi R Kelly. It’s LC from The Hills. I’d like to say that I watch that show. I do not however watch whatever show this Chace person is on. Tokio Hotel won best new artist. The lead singer looks like Michael Jackson…and Cher.10:50PM LL and Travis Barker? Now that’s a good look with DJ AM. Goin’ back to Cali. Here comes Paris Hilton looking for her new BFF. Best Pop Video. I bet Britney gets it, since it’s her big revival show. Then again that Michael Jackson looking girl/guy might get it. Let’s see who wins…Britney got it. See!10:55PM Lupe Fiasco is dressed like a waiter and singing “Superstar” with Matthew Santos. Maybe he’s proving that waiters are superstars too. 11:00PM I have the biggest crush on Josh Peck. Since The Wackness. Quote me. He keeps losing like OD amounts of weight though. Kid Rock is performing that country Hip-Hop thing he’s been doing ever since Rap didn’t agree with him. Oh my. Lil Wayne is dressed like Will.I.Am. No wait, he’s dressed like Kid Rock back in the day. Oh I get it. I want to give Lil Wayne a hug. 11:10PM Kobe Bryant is doing the usual athlete talk where they use words like “stamina” to describe a song. Britney wins again with a 55% standing ovation. Everyone is like see you get Video of the Year, please don’t do any more drugs. 11:15PM Kanye is singing with a glowing heart. WTF is this? This song has to sound better on a studio track. I am so confused. In conclusion…did anyone catch Entourage?

Lil Wayne Calls Out Eminem, Talks Jay-Z, Carter IV

Lil Wayne is not content with his blockbuster 2008, as the superstar MC is already brainstorming plans for the upcoming year.

In an exclusive interview with BBC’s 1Xtra’s DJ Semtex, Wayne first reflected on his phenomenal 2008 year, starting with his favorite freestyle over his signature song “A Milli.”

“I’m not gonna front, everyone killed it. I haven’t heard a wack [freestyle] yet,” Wayne disclosed. “[But] I got to say that Jay-Z’s in the best version next to Lil Mama, she murdered it. And I got the opportunity to watch her do that live.”

Wayne also detailed that the beat for “Dr. Carter” was originally created for Jay-Z, but was then switched to him after his verses impressed producer Swizz Beatz.

“He had it for Jay, and he told me ‘listen, I got this record for Jay, but I just want to see what you can do to it,’” Wayne revealed. “After he heard what I done to it, the record was for me. It wasn’t no ‘I beat Jay out,’ I just did enough where I kept the record. That’s real, ask Swizz (laughs).”

Seeking to grow his ever expanding collaboration catalogue, Wayne has his aim set on two MCs: underground sensation Jay Electronica and dormant superstar Eminem.

“Jay [Electronica] is crazy,” Wayne stated. “He probably don’t even know that I know his s**t, but that boy, he’s cold.”

Wayne reviewed that he had reached out to Eminem before Tha Carter III dropped in hopes of a joint song, but received no response from the Detroit native’s management.

Now 2 million record sales later, Wayne is more forceful and direct with his request to Slim Shady.

“I’m aight with the raps, it’s ok to get on a song. I’m calling you out!” Wayne quipped. “Come on out. I’m not calling you out to diss me because I can’t f*ck with you. But come do a song. Please…with three e’s.”

Moving forward to 2009, Wayne is excited about his upstart label Young Money Entertainment and his young, hungry roster of artists.

“I’m so happy about my label. I feel like a basketball team right before the season and I’m glad about all of my players. We ready,” Wayne stated. “[I have] Tyga, Jae Millz, Nicki Minaj, Bobby Valentino, [and] maybe Lil Scrappy in a minute. We doing it big.”

Confirming his work on a new album entitled Tha Carter IV, Wayne promises that he’ll continue to improve as an artist.

“Carter IV? It’s gonna be crazy because you know, I’m only getting better. Even though I’m getting older I’m only getting better,” he reasoned. “I’m in my prime right now and my light is shining very. Very bright right now and I know that. So I’m gonna take advantage of that. And I promise you, I will never fail you.”

Tha Carter III is available in stores now.
