Nicki Minaj Admits She “Played” Herself Going At Ex-Boyfriend Meek Mill

Nicki Minaj sat down for an interview with Pollstar, and she answered some questions about her feud with ex-boyfriend, rap star Meek Mill.

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj wishes she had kept her “mouth shut” instead of wasting her time and energy feuding with her former boyfriend Meek Mill on social media on Wednesday.

The exes reignited their war of words after Meek ‘liked’ a meme targeted at Minaj’s new husband, Kenneth Petty, prompting her to lash out at the “Dreams and Nightmares” hitmaker and accuse him of beating women – allegations he vehemently denied.

Hours after trading shots online, Nicki Minaj sat down for a wide-ranging interview with her manager, music mogul Irving Azoff, at the Pollstar Live! event at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles, and admitted she was still trying to learn not to engage in time-wasting spats.

Asked for the advice she would offer to rising stars, she said, “I would give advice to all artists, but especially women. Just try your best to let the small stuff go.

“I took some time recently to just reflect and took time away (from social media), and… I was looking at the things I had given my energy to and I couldn’t believe it. I was just like, ‘What the hell?’

“So I think, keep your eye on the bigger picture, is what I would say (to new artists). (If I could) I would have redone the whole thing and just kept my mouth shut. Put my music out and shut my mouth.”

Nicki Minaj was then asked directly about her most recent Twitter activity, to which she quipped, “I was hacked! I got hacked this morning, guys, don’t believe anything you saw! The good ol’ hack excuse.”

Admitting the tweets did indeed come from her, the rapper confessed she immediately regretted her fiery posts.

“It just happens. It never fails, every time I do it, five minutes later, I’m like, ‘Why the f##k (did I do that)?’ Every single time,” she shared.

“But it’s a good lesson in knowing how to master your anger and emotions, so every time I do that, I give myself a talking to in my head, like, ‘OK, you played yourself (messed up), you shouldn’t have did that. You learned your lesson, again. How many times you gonna learn your lesson?’ So I gave myself that talk today, sir.”

Another tweet she came to regret was about her rap retirement, which she shocked fans with last year and Minaj is now planning to scale back her social media use again by deleting the apps from her cell phone.

“Again, another time where I shouldn’t have had social media on my phone, and that’s why for the last month I haven’t had social media on my phone,” she said. “I just recently put it back on, and I’m about to take it back off!”
