Lizzo has adopted a vegan diet for the past six months after her grueling tour schedule led to her reverting from vegetarianism to “all animal products” at the beginning of lockdown.
The body-positive “Juice” hitmaker took to TikTok to open up on her plant-based lifestyle, as she reminded her fans to “love yourself at all stages in your life.”
At the start of her video, the star played footage of herself “making what looks like a stale donut poundcake milkshake type concoction,” before explaining that the footage was taken early in 2020 as she began to wind down from work amid the Covid-19 crisis.
She then inserted a clip of her “now,” which showed her “making my favorite vegan protein shake” – as she told her followers: “Honestly, I am both of these women, and I cannot condemn one woman or the other.
“I’m happy both ways, and right now, this is what’s bringing me joy,” smiled Lizzo, as she shared another clip of herself dancing around her kitchen in a sports bra and underwear.
“This is me at the beginning of quarantine. Happy. Loving myself. Dancing,” she said. “I’m still that happy girl, loving myself, and loving my body. Love yourself at all stages in your life, because you are who you are.”
The “Truth Hurts” star has been using her platform for good and, along with her self-love message, she’s also been calling on U.S. fans to get out and vote in November’s election by donning a sexy Uncle Sam costume to emphasize her point.
As previously reported by AllHipHop.com, one of Dr. Dre’s business partners has accused his soon to be ex-wife Nicole Young of stealing money from their business.
Larry Chatman owns the Record One studio with the Aftermath Executive and during better times, Nicole was listed as one of the trustees and signatories that could make withdrawals from the company’s bank accounts on behalf of the LLC.
However, in late August, Nicole took advantage of those positions and withdrew $353,571.85 without the consent of the two proprietors.
Both Chatman and Dr. Dre are considering this a criminal act of embezzlement — and since the monies have not been returned they’ve taken further steps.
Now, according to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department has been contacted and the belief is if charges are brought against her— she might do time in jail for the theft.
Her position has not changed: her name is on the account so she has a right to it.
There have been allegations of abuse, deception, embezzlement, and more.

Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon, the posthumous album by Pop Smoke, first hit #1 on the Billboard 200 chart back in July. Three months later, it looks like the late Brooklyn-raised rapper will get another week in the top spot.
HitsDailyDouble reports Shoot For The Stars is projected to amass around 66,000 units for the most recent sales tracking week. That total could be enough to knock 21 Savage and Metro Boomin’s Savage Mode II (58,000 units) out of the #1 position on the next official album tally.
After peaking in the pole position this summer, Pop Smoke’s debut studio LP remained in the Billboard 200’s Top 10 for the next 13 weeks. The project has not slipped below #4 through its entire 14-week run on the rankings of the most popular albums in America, spending 9 weeks at #2.
Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon was released on July 3 via Victor Victor/Republic Records after the New Yorker born Bashar Barakah Jackson was murdered in Los Angeles on February 19. The project was executive produced by Steven Victor and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson. The album’s guest feature list includes 50 Cent, Roddy Ricch, Lil Baby, DaBaby, Future, Quavo, Tyga, and more.
Can Jussie Smollett’s career survive after being involved in the controversy surrounding an alleged homophobic and racist assault in 2019? What began as the then-Empire star claiming he was attacked by Donald Trump supporters in Chicago ballooned into what seemed like endless twists in a tale that left many observers believing Smollett lied about the incident.
Smollett continues to maintain he was telling the truth about the supposed hate crime even though he was eventually indicted by a Cook County grand jury on six counts of making false reports earlier this year. That development came after 16 felony disorderly conduct charges were dropped in 2019 and the public court file was sealed by a judge.
It appears the 38-year-old actor/musician is trying to turn attention back to his professional life. According to reports, Smollett is making his feature film directorial debut for a movie titled B-Boy Blues. The forthcoming motion picture is an adaptation of James Earl Hardy’s 1994 book B-Boy Blues: A Seriously Sexy, Fiercely Funny, Black-on-Black Love Story.
Deadline described the fictional story as follows:
B-Boy Blues follows the tumultuous relationship between Mitchell Crawford, a 27-year old journalist, and Raheim Rivers, a 21-year old bicycle messenger and B-boy (banjee boy). They meet in a gay bar in Greenwich Village in the summer of 1993. The B-boy hangs out on street corners, cool and menacing. Raheim is the third B-boy in Mitchell’s life, but underneath the former’s tough exterior, Raheim is smart and talented and a loving parent to his five-year-old son. But Raheim has a violent streak.
Smollett is releasing B-Boy Blues via his SuperMassive Movies company. He is also credited as a producer for the film, along with James Earl Hardy, Tom Wilson, Frank Gatson, Sampson McCormick, and Madia Hill Scott. B-Boy Blues is scheduled to begin production in New York City on October 17.
As an actor, Jussie Smollett appeared in movies such as The Mighty Ducks, Alien: Covenant, and Marshall. His television résumé includes roles in Empire, Underground, and Star. In addition to being part of the cast as the Jamal Lyon character, Smollett also directed episodes from season 4 and season 5 of Empire.
Many political junkies got to know Angela Rye as the unapologetic liberal commentator that has no problem verbally clashing with conservatives and Donald Trump supporters on CNN. The Seattle native is now set to sit down with high-profile individuals for the new Tidal series The Main Thing. The show is playable for Tidal members and non-members.
Rye’s first guest is the legendary Calvin “Snoop Dogg” Broadus Jr. The Hip Hop icon recently revealed he is voting for president for the first time in 2020. He talked about making that decision, as well as voter apathy and the tactic of voter suppression, during the 30-minute conversation with Rye.
The Main Thing interview also features Snoop discussing his respect for California Congresswoman Maxine Waters, his support for 2020 Democratic Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and other topics. Future episodes of the program will include discussions with entertainers, history makers, athletes, organizers, and more.
“As a culture, we commune in spaces like our kitchen tables and backyard barbecues for life’s delicate, candid conversations,” says Rye. “While we’re secluded in our homes during one of the most pivotal moments in our nation’s history, The Main Thing, virtually culminates all of those conversations and as a culture, helps us to align on what really matters.”
In addition to promoting the importance of voting on The Main Thing, Snoop also recently helped launch the #VoteWithSnoop online voter registration drive. He partnered with the nonpartisan, nonprofit voting advocacy groups Rock The Vote and 1 VoteCloser as well as the social justice initiative OneOpp to hopefully bolster voter turnout this election season.

Cardi B’s name stays in the headlines. If it’s not for releasing controversial songs like “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion or throwing lavish Las Vegas birthday parties during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Bronx native will often make news for her online behavior.

Tuesday morning (October 13) saw Cardi accidentally post her own bare breasts to her Instagram Story. She deleted the picture but internet users were able to screenshot the Invasion of Privacy album creator’s NSFW snapshot, and it immediately spread across social media.
Cardi returned to Twitter on Monday afternoon to address the mishap. The 45-second voice memo opens with Cardi blasting herself for being “stupid,” but the 28-year-old rapper then goes on to say that she is just going to continue celebrating. Plus, Cardi reminded the world that she used to be an exotic dancer before becoming an entertainment superstar.
“Lord, why the f### you have to make me so f###### stupid and retarded? Why, why, why, why?” said Cardi. “You know what? I’m not even gonna beat myself up about it. I’m just gonna eat my breakfast. I’m just gonna eat my breakfast, right? I’m gonna eat my breakfast and then I’m gonna go to a party. Because I’m not even gonna think about it. I am not going to think about it. Okay? No, I’m not. I won’t. It is what it is. S### happened. F### it. It’s not even the first time. I mean, I used to f###### be a stripper, so whatever. Ay, Dios mío.”
While many online jokes came at Cardi’s expense for exposing her nipples, some of her fans and supporters flipped the embarrassing situation into the #BoobsOutForCardi hashtag. Numerous women and men began uploading photos of their own uncovered chests on Twitter, and Cardi retweeted several of those posts to her timeline.

Last night, Kanye West uploaded invalid results of the presidential election in Kentucky that showed him winning 19% of the vote with former Vice President Joe Biden getting 14% and President Donald Trump getting 2%. A close look at West’s screenshot shows there was something obviously wrong.
At the top of the image from LEX18.com, it clearly says “100% of the precincts reporting.” That outcome is impossible since voting in the United States does not end until November 3 which means there is no way 100% of the ballots could have been counted on October 13.
This clear error did not stop West from blasting the false information to his 30 million Twitter followers or certain outlets picking up the political story as accurate. Twitter eventually added a “manipulated media” tag on two of West’s tweets claiming he received 40,781 votes in Kentucky.
In addition, LEX 18 News had to explain that the website page West was touting as a victory was a mistake. The Lexington-area news station posted on Twitter:
Someone discovered a cached web link that we used during June’s primary election to post Associated Press election results. The old link was still populating current AP data and showed test results, which is part of the preparation the AP does in advance of elections. The results shown were not valid. They were simply part of a test. We regret the discovery of the cached web link and have removed the data from that page. We apologize for any confusion.
Kanye West’s chances of actually winning the White House in 2020 are very slim. According to reports, the 43-year-old entertainer has only qualified for the presidential ballot in 12 states. A 50-state write-in campaign would be extremely difficult to pull off. He currently has no mathematical chance of winning the 270 electoral college votes needed to become the next president.

Antwan Patton is making a name for himself as an actor.
The same way that he made a name for himself as a part of the platinum-selling rap duo, Outkast, that put the South on the map.
It has recently been announced that Big Boi, Patton’s emcee alter-ego, will be starring in Hip-Hop/ Crime Dramedy TV series called, “Government Records,” produced by Atlanta’s own 850 Entertainment.
Based in Atlanta, the show will center around two ATF agents who team up with the local police department and The Feds to infiltrate the city’s rap scene. This law enforcement team goes undercover as big-time music execs — hoping to shake up the vicious crime crew run by a fictional 90’s rap artist named “Sugar Key.”
When talking about the show, Big Boi said that he believes that the show would be big, “Can’t wait to get things moving.” The Executive Producer Chris DeBlasio is just as excited saying, “I’ve been looking for a project that would both highlight the city of Atlanta and bring recurring work to the area.”
He continued, “When the script first came to me it was actually being developed as a feature film, but the characters and material were so rich that I immediately decided that it needed to be a series, to fully cover the scope of the story.”
Government Records is slated to debut in 2021.
T.I. has some GREAT will out in this Hip-Hop universe! This is because he’s dope lyrically, his the proverbial King of the South and he has been on hit songs from everybody from Jay to Rozay to others such as Rihanna. I previously reported a rumor about his upcoming album…I TOLD YOU ALL!
Honestly, I can’t find the post because all google is showing is the contest we are currently doing with Tip, blessings fans with $1200 a day leading up to The L.I.B.R.A. That Stands for “The Legend Is Back Running Atlanta.” That’s a title for ya!
So, here is the point…Everybody is on this album!
The album has Ms. Pat, Tokyo Jetz, Young Thug, Lil Baby, 42 Dugg, Mozzy, Jeremih, Snoop Dogg, Rapsody, Rahky, London Jae, Conway, Rick Ross, Domani, Benny The Butcher, Jadakiss, Alec Beretz, Eric Bellinger, Killer Mike, 21 Savage, and John Legend….

I don’t know about you guys, but this might be the album of the year already!

MTV is about to relaunch one of Hip-Hop’s favorite series, “MTV Cribs.”
No one will ever forget Redman’s classic episode where he took the Viacom cameras on a trip through his crib in Newark. While the Funk Doctor Spock’s episode was ratchet, there were some Hip-Hop homes that took your breath away.
The cribs mirrored the rap music videos that they played on the channel, back when the network almost exclusively played music videos. Now that so many people are at home watching TV due to the coronavirus, the hope is to re-engage the interest of music culture loves like they did almost twenty years ago.
“As we spend more time at home this year, our fascination with where and how others live is growing,” said Craig Orr, vice president of original content and development for youth and entertainment at ViacomCBS Networks International “’MTV Cribs’ continues to connect our worldwide audiences with their favorite stars as they welcome us into their homes for an exclusive tour. This is pure property p### escapism at its most fabulous.”
The new reboot will hit the US next year, 2021. However, there will be an international version set to debut on select MTV stations on Oct. 26th at 8 pm BST.
The original show first dropped in 2000 and stayed on for a whopping for 13 seasons.
By 2005, they had visited the homes of celebrities like Destiny’s Child, Snoop Dogg, and Mariah Carey. Which stars would you like to see when they start running here in The States?
After receiving harsh criticism from Black womanist activists and internet trolls for her silence on her recent ordeal, Megan Thee Stallion has written an essay with The New York Times lifting her voice of the violence that Black women face — and how unprotected they are in society.
The “Savage” A-lister found her liberating voice in a heartfelt anti-violence statement.
“I was recently the victim of an act of violence by a man,” she wrote. “After a party, I was shot twice as I walked away from him. My initial silence about what happened was out of fear for myself and my friends.”
“The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted,” she continued.
Megan then pointed to how politics are spaces where Black women feel oppressed, taken for granted, and disregarded despite their consistency at the polls.
“Black women are expected once again to deliver victory for Democratic candidates,” she writes in this essay. “We have gone from being unable to vote legally to a highly courted voting bloc — all in little more than a century.”
She further noted that they have the ability to impact change should they choose to.
“…My hope is that Kamala Harris’s candidacy for vice president will usher in an era where Black women in 2020 are no longer ‘making history’ for achieving things that should have been accomplished decades ago. But that will take time, and Black women are not naïve. We know that after the last ballot is cast and the vote is tallied, we are likely to go back to fighting for ourselves. Because at least for now, that’s all we have.”

Offset has spent an incredible $8,000 on a custom-made Rolls Royce car seat for his two-year-old daughter Kulture.
And to complete the gift, Offset decided to splash out on a coordinated car seat for the former couple’s daughter. The seat features Kulture’s name embroidered underneath the Rolls Royce logo and is made almost entirely of tan leather to match the interior of her mum’s new ride.
However, Offset acknowledged that the expense of the seat wasn’t likely to stop it from getting messy. He wrote alongside a snap of the seat on Instagram: “8 thousand dollar car seat and i bet it has peanut butter and jelly on it in 1 week.”
In September, Cardi and Offset announced they were splitting up after three years of marriage.
“I have a kid with this man, I have a household with this man,” Cardi B explained shortly after announcing they were splitting up. “Sometimes you’re just tired of the arguments and the buildups. You get tired sometimes. And before something bad happens, before you get left, before you get cheated on, sometimes you just wanna leave. What is so bad about that?”
No word yet on it if Cardi B and Offset have officially reconciled, or if the PDA towards her estranged husband on her birthday was temporary.
Desiree is a baddie from Miami, and she’s here to take the music industry by storm.
The singer, songwriter, actor, Youtuber, and influencer exploded onto the scene during the Vine days, building a social media presence with her breathtaking inner and outer beauty. In transitioning her talents to Instagram, Desiree began working with the elites such as King Bach and DeStorm.
The 23-years-old is a Leo, who loves to entertain. With her parents divorcing and her splitting time between her mom and dad’s place, she grew up around so much diversity.
She states, “Miami is such a cultured city, that’s what really impacted my musical taste and who I am as an artist. There’s so much Caribbean culture in Miami, which is ultimately where this record with Bounty Killer came from.”
Having resided in Los Angeles for 4 years now, Desiree recently unleashed the official music video for “One Time,” reeling in the hottest Caribbean artist for a feature. Bounty Killer is a legend in the game, so Desiree flew to Jamaica to shoot a portion of the video. Under the care of Bounty, she was given all-star treatment making her first trip to the country one for the books.
With her forthcoming EP titled Have A Nice Life, Desiree injects all types of genres and styles, from reggae and R&B to Afrobeat and salsa.
AllHipHop: Who were your biggest influences growing up?
Desiree: It sounds cliche, but Beyonce. My first concert ever was her concert, I was 11. I love Beyonce, she can do it all. I loved her growing up, but there was also our local music. I don’t think people feel like it is, but Miami’s actually the South. It’s really Southern. I’ve always loved Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, Drake. I’ve always loved the biggest artists because I wanted to be the biggest artist.
AllHipHop: At what point did you realize you could do music for a living?
Desiree: I’d been singing for so long but I recorded my first song in a studio when I was 10 or 11. My mom paying for some studio time for me finally, after me begging. I’m like “okay, I really want to do this!” I wrote my own song and continued to do it. It wasn’t until I started meeting people and making connections where I thought I can actually go somewhere with this. I always knew I wanted to do this, it was always a thing.
AllHipHop: How did the collab with Bounty Killer come about?
Desiree: Honestly, I’d been sitting on “One Time.” It had no feature, it was just my part. I sat on it for 2 to 3 months before you guys ever heard it. I knew I wanted a Caribbean record so I created the record. I didn’t know who I wanted it to be, but I knew that I wanted a Caribbean feature. I was thinking, maybe a young Caribbean artist? I was racking my brain trying to figure it out and I thought of Bounty Killer. I didn’t know if it was too far-fetched but you know what, the law of attraction. We gon’ make this happen. I sent him the record, he liked it. He said he’ll see what he can do and he sent his verse back.
AllHipHop: Just like that?
Desiree: Yeah, it sounds like a fake story. That’s really how it happened. It all happened in the right timing, it worked out. There were a lot of artists I had in mind, I had contact with, but Bounty sent his verse and I’m like “this is it, perfect.”
AllHipHop: How did yall get in contact?
Desiree: Instagram. Thank God for that!
AllHipHop: What was your reaction when you got his verse back?
Desiree: I was so happy. A lot of times when you collaborate with another artist, you might go back and forth 2 and 3 times before you get the verse that you want. His verse was perfect, you don’t have to change a thing! He’s a legend. Him being a legend, everything was perfect. He’s so talented, I was really excited.

AllHipHop: Talk about half the video being shot in Jamaica, how was that experience?
Desiree: My birthday is actually August 16th. It was around then, we were in Jamaica for 3 days.
AllHipHop: During quarantine?
Desiree: Yes, during quarantine. Let me say this, Jamaica is very very cautious. Safer than the US. right now. When you come from the U.S. they’re looking at you like ummm… [laughs] We did everything right. We followed all the rules, all the precautions, all their requirements. Our day of filming was August 7th to August 10th, our Jamaica shoot dates. We were very safe. It was very intimate, never more than 3 or 4 people in our space at a time. We shot the last part in Miami which is where I’m from, so it made sense. We did that on the 10th or 11th, it was bam bam bam. Land in Miami, shoot. That’s my first time ever in Jamaica.
AllHipHop: How was your experience?
Desiree: Oh my god, paradise. Any time you’re out of the US, you can tell you’re out of the US. A feel of okay, I’m in a foregin country right now. Miami is obviously tropical, it’s beautiful, but it’s still the US. It’s something about being not in America, everything looks different. You feel like you’re on an island. You can’t escape the island. Yeah there’s a city, Kingston is a city, but it’s still paradise. Everything’s paradise. The beach, the mountains, everywhere around you is what you would imagine in a movie. To be there for the first time, wow. The most beautiful place I’d ever been honestly. Everyone has been to Jamaica, all of my friends said “let me know what you think, it’s so nice.” I felt late, I can’t believe this exists in the world!
AllHipHop: What was the best memory in Jamaica?
Desiree: The people. Especially being in a foreign country, you don’t know anybody. You want to make sure you’re safe. Bounty hooked us up with his people, his driver. We were in good hands. People in Jamaica are so genuine, helpful, and nice. It’s a unity in Jamaica that I don’t think you get here in America. Everyone wants to help. Everyone has their different grinds. You see this person over here selling fruit, this person over there selling this. It’s a unity I really love and never seen before. Being nice to a stranger, you don’t really get that. I heard that’s a Caribbean thing, you have a lot of manners.
AllHipHop: Were you nervous to meet him?
Desiree: I was but as soon as we met, it was instant chemistry. He’s super chill, his mannerisms and aura is super chill. He’s a chill dude, he sits back and relaxes. When the camera turns on, he turns up! It’s a different person. He’s such a star that he can do that at the snap of a finger. He’s very easy to work with because he knew exactly what he’s doing. He brought his part, now I had to match him. He brought it, every shot was amazing. In Miami, we did the party scene. A club scene, still keeping things safe and as intimate as possible. Honestly if it were up to me, I’d have a bigger club. But okay, let’s keep it small. Everything was fun, like having a real vacation but working at the same time.
AllHipHop: What do you want fans to get from the record?
Desiree: I think I’ve gotten this, but I want support from the Caribbean. I’ve always wanted that because I’m from Miami, Caribbean culture is crazy out there. I really really hope that I did it justice. I want people to dance and have fun, it’s really a dance record. I sing R&B most of the time. I’m singing about heartbreak, I love you or cry with me. But this one is dance, just feel-good. If it wasn’t COVID, I’d want it played at every club. When COVID clears up, we’ll do that.
AllHipHop: Do you miss outside?
Desiree: Yeah. I’m an introvert but alright, I’m over this now. I’m ready to get back to normal because I miss going to the movies. I miss going out to restaurants, which are opening up now but it’s still not the same. Going to bars, that was my thing. I loved going to karaoke. I do miss outside and I’m ready for things to be over. I’m over it, finally done.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Desiree: I need water. I need Hot Cheetos. I know that sounds crazy, other singers gon’ be like “what?” [laughs] I need water, Hot Cheetos, and my phone.
AllHipHop: Do you write your lyrics on there?
Desiree: I do write my lyrics on my phone. I don’t like handwriting at all, my handwriting is horrible. I don’t handwrite, I’m a typer so everything’s in my Notes.
AllHipHop: What can we expect next from you?
Desiree: This is all a part of an EP. You have “One Time” out now, then you have “Bad” I released a couple months ago. “Bad” features a female rapper named Daysha Taylor. She’s from Atlanta, so that feel and vibe of that record is really Southern and really Atlanta. Next we’re putting out another record, it’s actually a slow R&B song. These last couple songs I put out have been really hyped so I’m excited to sing. Now you can hear me sing.
AllHipHop: Why’d you name your EP, Have A Good Life?
Desiree: The EP is a breakup EP. It’s not crying over you, it’s okay I’m over you now. When you’re in the phase where you’re over the person and you’re done with them, you’re good. Everybody has either said it to somebody or heard it: have a good life. Wish you well, bye! This EP is really about I’ve over you now. The EP’s very very versatile. You got “One Time,” you got “Bad,” then this next record is a ballad. I wanted to be versatile. When I think of my music career, I think of Rihanna. What can’t she do? My next record is called “Soul Searching,” then we’ll put the EP out.
AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?
Desiree: You can follow me everywhere at @OfficalDesiree. That’s my Instagram, my TikTok, my Twitter, literally everything. That’s it.
Kovè is your new favorite female rapper, period. Kovè, real name Kimberly DaCosta, hails from the island of Jamaica, but calls Brooklyn, New York her home. Since a young age, she’s been making waves in the biggest music hubs around America, including Atlanta, Miami, Los Angeles, and New York.

This follows her previous single titled “Scrub,” which was released at the end of last year. Regardless, each record highlights her tenacious rapping style and songwriting abilities.
She states, ““I’m in my own lane so I don’t blend in with the crowded room. My humble beginnings pushed me to work on my legendary future.”
With Tom backing Kovè to the fullest, it ‘s only right she got the co-sign from MMG boss Rick Ross.

Rapper Tory Lanez appeared by phone today for a hearing at L.A. County Superior Court today (October 13th) for allegedly shooting Megan Thee Stallion.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney charged the Toronto rapper with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
The rapper has not entered into a plea yet, because his lawyer asked for a continuance. But his bail was set at $190,000 and Tory must stay at least 100 yards away from Meg if they happen to run across each other.
Tory and Meg infamously clashed following a night out at a Hollywood Hills party. Shortly after the altercation Meg was shot.
“My initial silence about what happened was out of fear for myself and my friends,” Megan wrote in a perfectly timed op-ed in The New York Times, which dropped today.
“Even as a victim, I have been met with skepticism and judgment. The way people have publicly questioned and debated whether I played a role in my own violent assault proves that my fears about discussing what happened were, unfortunately, warranted,” Megan wrote.
Last week, Tory Lanez said he was confident the “truth” about his shooting drama with Megan Thee Stallion will “come to light” after he was officially charged over the summer incident.
⏰ will 🗣 … and the truth will come to the light … I have all faith in God to show that … love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart … a charge is not a conviction . If you have supported me or meg thru this , I genuinely appreciate u .
— Tory Lanez (@torylanez) October 9, 2020
Taking to Twitter Tory Lanez used emojis as he posted, “(Time) will (tell) … and the truth will come to the light … I have all faith in God to show that …”
Thanking followers for their support, he continued, “love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart,” before stressing that he has yet to be found guilty.
“A charge is not a conviction,” he declared, adding, “If you have supported me or meg thru this, I genuinely appreciate u.”
Tory and Megan have been locked in a war of words ever since the summer incident after the Texas native confirmed Tory Lanez was the gunman behind her injuries.
He went on to deny the accusations on his latest album, Daystar, suggesting Megan made up the claims out of jealousy. If convicted, Tory Lanez, real name, Daystar Peterson, could face up to 22 years behind bars.
“Don’t try to hide. You might as well embrace it/you’ve done it all/turn around and face it.” – Jay Electronica on “Run and Hide”
If the protests of 2020, have taught us anything it is there is a fear in White America that we are on the verge of an apocalyptic, race war where hordes of Black ruffians will commence slaughtering innocent white people, indiscriminately. Not only is this sentiment insulting to African Americans, but it also is a false narrative that has often been repeated over the last several months.
The anxiety of White Americans can be understood so I get it. After 400 years of systematic oppression who wouldn’t want a little payback. So when they see on the news images of rioters tearing up cities their first impulse is to think Dr. Dre’s 1992 song, “The Day the N****z Took Over” had been remixed in 2020. But that does not gel with the reality of the times. Truth is many of the rioters in these cities are white kids.
This is not to say that Black people have not risen up to Fight the Power.
Historically, there have been many instances of Black rebellion including the well-known Nat Turner uprising of 1831. Historian Herbert Atheker states in his book, “American Negro Slave Revolts,” that there were over 200 slave rebellions, but the newspapers and politicians suppressed the information. They feared that the truth about rebellions would spread fear among whites and encourage more rebellions amongst the Africans.
But in 2020, America what is really seeing a civil war between white folk and African Americans are just the raison d’etre. I feel the term Black Lives Matter is presently and largely being used by white Liberals who are engaged in a battle against the MAGA maniacs. Black suffering is just a handy prop to them.
So, one morning when one of the homies inboxed me about the militia that allegedly planned to kidnap the governor of Michigan the fast way…ski mask way…ransom note. I just replied with Chris Rock “Betty White” (bet -he -white) meme and went back to sleep.
Let us be clear. The media is hell-bent on finding a Black equivalent to match the white supremacy that is running rampant in this country today. But history has taught us that any “race war” that starts will be instigated by white supremacists determined to “Make America Great Again.”
So, Black folks can’t get caught up in a white family feud when we weren’t even invited to the picnic.
