Meek Mill Stops By His Old Elementary School To Donate Much-Needed Supplies

(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill is far more than just a rapper.

The Philly native not only speaks out about the corrupt justice system, but he also gives back to his community in major ways.

Yesterday (September 13), the Championships artist donated over 500 backpacks to students at his old elementary school.

Meek stopped by James G. Blaine Elementary School to personally hand out the supplies and backpacks himself, as the students went crazy for not only him, but the new goodies.

He also laced their teachers with 30 classroom packs, ensuring they have what they need to teach their students efficiently during the school year.

The rapper was in his hometown during a stop on his “Legendary Nights” tour with Future.

It was just last month that Meek unveiled a completely new basketball court in his old neighborhood in Philly.

Kurupt Sent To The Hospital After Drinking Too Much Liquor

(AllHipHop News) Dogg Pound rap legend Kurupt took things a little too far during a wild night taping an episode of “Marriage Boot Camp.”

According to reports, Kurupt, born Ricardo Emmanuel Brown, was rushed to the hospital after drinking too much liquor during a party with other cast members.

Kurupt allegedly got so smashed that he had to be hospitalized for two days.

As a result of Kurupt’s binge, producers of “Marriage Boot Camp” have agreed to ban liquor for the rest of the season.

And the executives of “Marriage Boot Camp” are contemplating prohibiting alcohol from the show altogether since Kurupt could have killed himself with the quantity of liquor he soaked up.

According to reports, Kurupt has been struggling to get sober.

Kurupt and his girlfriend Tookie are among the stars featured in a new season of “Marriage Boot Camp.”

Megan Thee Stallion Join’s Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Empire

(AllHipHop News) Megan Thee Stallion, the hot girl summer-having rapper, is the newest artist to join Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. The pair made the announcement today on social media.

The specifics have not been made public, but she is likely now being managed by trhe company that includes J. Cole, Lil Uzi Vert, Rihanna, Jim Jones, Meek Mill and more.

After making the reveal, Megan took a far more serious note referring to her deceased mother.

“After my mom passed I promised myself I was going to keep going hard bc not only is music my dream but it was her dream for me too. I have days where I want to go hide and cry bc she’s not here but i kno that ain’t what she would want me to do! I kno she’s proud of me,” she said over Twitter.

Meg has been at the top of the charts, been the talk of social media and seen her star rise as one of the premiere rap artists of the time. Megan’s signing to Roc Nation is not far fetched after she was seen with Jay-Z at Puma’s 5th Avenue opening late in the summer.

Roc Nation has yet to release a formal statement.

In related news, Megan is on the Legendary Nights tour with Meek Mill and Future.

AllHipHop was at the New York stop of the popular tour. Check out some pictures below.

Rap Legend YoYo Goes “Out Of Control” For The First Time In 10 Years

YoYo is a hip-hop legend… period!

Bred from the South Central district of Los Angeles, YoYo, real name Yolanda Whitaker, caught her big break when she was featured on Ice Cube’s 1990 debut album AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted.

The song “It’s A Man World” represented for all the badass females not only in the rap game but all around the world.

YoYo recently made her reality TV debut on the sixth season of “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood,” delivering intelligence, experience, and knowledge into this generation.

She has also returned to the booth and prepares to release her first single in decades “Out Of Control.”

AllHipHop caught up with YoYo in downtown Los Angeles to chat about the woman’s image in society today, her friendship with R. Kelly and Tupac, and the mission behind the YoYo School of Hip Hop.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B1WUjpag7tk

AllHipHop: For those who are younger and may not know, who is YoYo?

YoYo: I’m a mother. I’m a grandmother now. I’m a hip-hop legend. I’m a community activist. I’m a voice for the people. I’m a friend. I’m a sister. I’m fearless. I’m strong. I’m lonely, I’m weak. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Why do you say lonely?

YoYo: Oh God, well sometimes I do feel lonely. This industry is a lonely industry. For me, trying to get it right for me has been a lonely journey.

AllHipHop: Do you think you’ll ever understand it?

YoYo: I’m in a place of trying to be an artist and sometimes trying to be my true self. Trying not to be so hard and work on my soft side. More gentle, which is a journey.

AllHipHop: How was it with Ice Cube? How did you resolve him calling himself “the b##ch killa”?

YoYo: You know what, he never called me the b##ch. So it was always good because he had a direction for my career. At that time, I had no idea what the direction even was. b##ch killa? I think b##ches took that word and owned it. [chuckles]

AllHipHop: Reality TV is perceived to portray women negatively, is that true in your experience?

YoYo: Women are so desperate. Not all of them but some women are so desperate to get on, they’re willing to do anything. I remember when we were making a voice for hip-hop and we had standards. We had morals. Not that women today don’t, but there were things we just didn’t do. Then came the video vixens, video girls changed the game because you’re thinking here you were fighting for one thing. A lot of women who get that title for reality TV, for hip-hop, for whatever else reason, they want it. They want that notoriety.

AllHipHop: What is your perspective on images of women in 2019?

YoYo: Women are badass. We are making way for ourselves, for our families. We have so much power. The fact that we have bridged so many gaps from generations to generations is incredible. On the other hand, those who don’t know their power are setting trends that we’re trying to water down when it comes to the strength of a woman. Not playing always into a man’s hand.

AllHipHop: You’re releasing your first song in over a decade “Out The Control.” What made you want to record again?

YoYo: I didn’t want to record at first. What made me want to record is being back on the scene. Being back out there and the way people have received me, the love I’ve been getting. I was thinking at first, do they really want me to get back out there? Is that something that people really want? Because they just say that, maybe they don’t know what to say when they see me. I was thinking that for a long time, but so much love out there. Hip-hop is constantly growing. Now, this generation is loving 90’s music so much, I’m like why not?

AllHipHop: Your rhymes, you’re known for your political activism. Do you worry about LNHH damaging your brand?

YoYo: No, only I can damage my brand. Because I’m such an activist, it’s what I’ve always done. I jump into it. I had to kill my ego in order to rebrand and renew myself, and what better way to do it. This generation, they’re so fearless that they are “in your face” energy. I’m used to it. A lot of people run from it like they ran from hip-hop. Me, I embrace it. I make it my own. I show them love. I get into it the way I’ve gotten into everything. Hopefully, you’ll see more legendary artists being a part of shows, things they thought they couldn’t tap or was tabooed.

AllHipHop: How did you get the gig?

YoYo: I got a call. They called me up and said “hey, what do you think about Love & Hip-Hop? We’re interested in sitting down and seeing if you fit for this season. Would you be interested?” I said I’d get back to them. By the end of the day, I’d said yes. Because I made my mind already from my past experiences: say yes and let God say no. Everything for me is for me. If it’s not, no one can make me look bad.

AllHipHop: What’s the best part of filming the show?

YoYo: Blending in with this generation of youth. Letting me reintroduce myself to a new generation who knows nothing about me. Because I work in the community and do so much education work with students, image and trending is very important to them. In order for me to be back in, they recognize me. They see my face. It opens up doors to allow conversation with kids who normally wouldn’t talk to me because I’m considered old school.

AllHipHop: Are the ladies in LNHH taking your advice in real life? It looks like a war between Summer Bunni, A1, and Lyrica on social.

YoYo: It is a real war. You sleep with somebody’s husband and she just had a baby — it’s so hard yet it’s happening every day. The great part is when you know better, you do better. Even Summer Bunni has a right to be wrong and hopefully get it right. I like being in that process where you’re f##king up in life and you have a friend — someone you look up to or you reach out to for help — to say “hey listen I want to help you, but you can’t be screwing no girl’s man.”

That’s a decision women have to make because men are really tricky. They have a way of persuading you, pursuing you, even though they have a whole family at home. If your n##ga was shacking, then he shouldn’t have been macking. [laughs]

AllHipHop: If a chick or male gets too ratchet, will you beat them up?

YoYo: Yeah. If someone throws a drink in my face, I’m f##king them up. Period. [chuckles]

AllHipHop: Do you long for the days of positive ideals in rap?

YoYo: I like true artists. I don’t look for just positive rap because that’s boring, no disrespect. I like an artist. I like a wide range of music, but I want to feel it. There’s an energy that comes with it. I want to feel realness. I want somebody to really talk some s##t and it’s not trending, say some real s##t and I really feel it.

AllHipHop: Can you speak on how you knew R. Kelly?

YoYo: Well I love R. Kelly’s music, big fan like everyone else. I pray for him now what this illness that he has.

AllHipHop: What illness is this?

YoYo: His love for young girls.

AllHipHop: At the Trumpet Awards, you said he slipped his # to your daughter. Can you elaborate?

YoYo: My daughter wasn’t that young, she was over 21. She came to the studio with me, my family travels with me all the time. I was there, I was enjoying him. I was just thinking to myself his past situations like “wow this guy’s really a genius.” We get home, good energy. My daughter goes “mom, I want to tell you something. Promise not to say anything.” I never thought that in a million years. Even when we posted the picture in the studio, friends said “oh God, don’t bring him next to your daughter.” She goes “don’t say anything, R.Kelly…” I’m like “how do you know he gave it to you?” She said his friend slipped her his number. I said “how do you know he knows?” She said “because when he hugged me, he said ‘don’t forget to call me’.” I said “what!?” [claps]

She’s like “mom, please don’t say anything.” I never said anything but at that moment, I thought this couldn’t have been Snoop. This couldn’t have been Ice Cube, but who knows what he’s done to other people? Because I loved him so much that I never even judged him. I just felt he tried to play me out, but I let it go. Once I saw that movie [Surviving R. Kelly], I’m like wow, that could’ve been one of my daughters had she been weak. Because that entertainment power is so powerful, you see what it does to just be a part of the group, the team. Back in my day, it was called groupies.

AllHipHop: Groupies still exist!

YoYo: Groupies still exists, but now they groupies for the whole squad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuafRxjxpLA

AllHipHop: You were one of the original rap personalities on TV as “Keylolo” in Martin. What’s the biggest difference between reality TV & shooting something scripted?

YoYo: Shooting something scripted, it’s a piece of your life that you act out. It’s in real-time the majority of the times. Acting, you get a chance to prepare. The reality of shooting a reality show is I don’t know what your reaction is or where you’re coming from, it’s off the top. Who knows where it’ll go?

AllHipHop: What are your thoughts on the criticism of today’s female MCs?

YoYo: I understand it a little bit. Because when you’ve been apart of hip-hop for so long and you’ve passed the part of saying “well we bare no responsibility, it’s up to someone else” — now we know the power of it. I’m too old to say I know better. I’m too seasoned to act as if I know that it doesn’t raise a community, or contribute to fashion and everything else you see around it. To me, the trend is lasting a little too long. I can’t wait for it to end. I’m sick of young girls saying to get sex, you have to pay me. How long they want it to be, how big and how good they can ride on it. Everybody’s out here looking like Figueroa w#####, I’m sick it. I want them to have some class about they ass, put on some clothes and be artists. If that’s your style like Madonna, then people will tastefully welcome it.

Guys can do whatever they want in music. Because of our power, I want us to be aware so we don’t contradict our character for our power. But I love women who do whatever they want to do. Be as creative as your mind can and be able to own a football team and a basketball team. I want that same kind of love that they give men to women. but I can’t see men selling their ass on Figueroa. [laughs]

AllHipHop: Can you speak on your relationship with Tupac?

YoYo: Tupac and I were like brother and sister. Of course we once had a relationship that grew into a brother/sister love. High respect for each other. Till this day, his family and I are still very close. Work very closely with his organization. I’m actually doing some stuff. His organization actually contributes to the YoYo School of Hip Hop. We work very close, his sister Sekyiwa and I spend time together. We go out to their mother’s house in San Francisco and stay on the lake.

AllHipHop: Is it true you were with him in the hospital when he died?

YoYo: I was. I thought he was gonna live, let’s just start there. He was very strong. My presence was known, he looked at me. He knew I was there.

AllHipHop: What’s your goal with the YoYo School of Hip Hop?

YoYo: My goal is to continue to use this as a platform to educate and give people the information that I never had (that I thought I had). To have a space for people who feel they can’t give all of their time but they can give some of their time and give back. This time around on November 1st when we relaunch the YoYo School of Hip Hop, it’s to take talented artists and give them a platform, more so than just making it a summer program. Our kids are growing up now!

AllHipHop: What’s some of the information you didn’t know?

YoYo: Well we bring a lot of information in, it’s not just my information. We bring in Platinum-selling artists, they tell their story. We bring in media, PR, people from streaming, DJs. We have so many people who are offering their knowledge and experience. It’s growing right before my very eyes. It’s spider-webbing!

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?

YoYo: I have a new single “Out Of Control” out the end of September. It’s an independent project. I got a distribution deal and I’m excited about that. We’re constantly working. I want to add artists on and just keep on going. Of course, I definitely want to run for Congress. I’m gonna start off as City Council, that’s my 50-year goal.

I don’t want to get too wrapped up, but I’m just grateful for the opportunity. The work I’ve done through my tough times in my career has benefitted me tremendously. It’s allowed me this new space, but it humbled me enough to give me the desires of my heart this second time around: living into this LNHH, a new album, working with kids who know nothing about me. Follow me @yoyofearless!

First It Was Drake, Now Wiley Goes After Ed Sheeran As “Fake”

(AllHipHop News) U.K. rapper Wiley has branded Ed Sheeran a “fake” lover of urban music who rips off other artists.

The grime pioneer brought Sheeran in to sing on his 2011 track “If I Could” back when the singer-songwriter was still a relative unknown but has long been furious the favor was not returned.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3b6qaTnudPs

The British rapper/producer called Ed out on Twitter, insulting him as a “pagan” and expanded his point during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Dotty.

During the chat Wiley, real name Richard Kylea Cowie Jr, called Sheeran “fake as hell” and accused him of ripping off other artists with his music.

“Ed Sheeran, you are a culture vulture and I’m not listening to you anymore,” he said. “I’ve listened to you rip off Marvin Gaye. I’ve listened to you rip off everything. I’ve seen you do a song with Justin Bieber, it sounds like a reggae tune by Sting.”

Sheeran recently recorded a track, “Take Me Back” to London, with another grime superstar, Stormzy, which topped the U.K. singles chart.

And Wiley accused the star of using the genre to, “tip your song over the edge,” in a bid to boost sales, and of trading off grime’s urban credibility.

The 40-year-old also claimed Sheeran’s affinity with the genre is superficial, as he refused to work with him again after he’d become a star.

“When I was working with Ed I was working to do it for him, when it was time to do it for me, he didn’t wanna do it. When it was time to do it for me he didn’t want to stand up to his label,” he added, saying the musician was “not allowed” to use the word grime.

In the lengthy interview, Wiley also criticized Drake and questioned why it took the Canadian rapper to resurrect the TV drama “Top Boy,” as well as his commitment to the British artists he has taken under his wing.

EXCLUSIVE: Nine Trey Gangsta Blood Members Tried To Kill Each Other Over 6ix9ine’s Career

(AllHipHop News) Inner conflict over control of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s career ripped members of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods apart.

Next week, Tekashi 6ix9ine is expected to take the stand to testify during Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack’s trial, who is accused of dealing drugs and committing violence on behalf of the gang.

Nuke, and another man named Harv Ellison are accused of being members of Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

Both men were charged in a sweeping RICO indictment against Tekashi 6ix9ine and his manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan as well as almost a dozen other gang members.

Feds accused the men of being gang members who were running guns and dealing drugs throughout New York.

Nuke was trying to impress the group to get into good favor with the gang’s prison leader “Snake Eyes” as well another gang member known as Frank White, whose identities will be revealed by 6ix9ine when he takes the stand.

The gang is also accused of terrorizing anyone who dissed 6ix9ine with an overwhelming amount of violence.

According to sources, internal problems flared up between 6ix9ine and Shotti, and Nuke, in addition to fellow gang members Harv Ellison and Mel “Murda” Jones.

The gang’s top leaders disagreed on the best way to reply to the many threats from outside rappers like YG, Chief Keef and Casanova.

6ix9ine will testify Shottie felt as though Nine Trey should respond to any form of disrespect, no matter how slight, in a physical way in a public setting.

Tekashi 6ix9ine will confirm Ellison preferred to respond to any perceived slights with violence, but there was no reason to publicize it, since the word would spread about the fate of those who happened to those who disrespected Nine Trey.

As for 6ix9ine and Ellison, the guy who eventually kidnapped him, they fell out over an incident at South by Southwest in March of 2018.

Tekashi 6ix9ine was supposed to perform, but he was run off of the stage by people affiliated with Rap-A-Lot, during a feud with J. Prince Jr. and he was unable to perform at his event.

Harv Ellison was p##### because 6ix9ine left him stranded in Austin after he threatened friends of the rapper who were not members of Nine Trey, over the altercation at South by Southwest.

This admonishment devolved into a lengthy back and forth between Tekashi 6ix9ine, and other members of Nine Trey and the SXSW incident marked the start of a split between the crew.

The feds say things reached a boiling point between the warring factions in July of 2018 when Ellison and another man kidnapped Tekashi 6ix9ine in Brooklyn and robbed him for over $750,000 worth of jewels.

Later, the feds found surveillance footage of a black Mercedes Benz hanging around the home of an associate of Ellison, who was nowhere in sight.

Tekashi 6ix9ine will confirm that Shotti and others piled into the black Mercedes Benz in question and went looking for Ellison in the aftermath of the kidnapping and robbery.

The discord between the group is captured in over 13,000 text messages the government will introduce as evidence during the trial.

This batch of evidence was not entered into the court docket and was given directly to Nuke’s lawyers to protect the identities of other witnesses who have not been charged.

Tekashi 6ix9ine will face off against Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack in court on September 16.

Kim And Kanye West Bought A $14 Million Mansion They “Might” Live In

(AllHipHop News) Kim Kardashian revealed it’s her husband Kanye West’s “dream” to relocate the family to Wyoming.

The 38-year-old reality star appeared on “The Tonight Show” Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her KKW Beauty collaboration with model Winnie Harlow.

And during the show, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star played a new game called “Show Me Your Phone.”

During the round, Kim and Jimmy, 44, randomly revealed details from their phone, and the star was tasked with reading out the “sweet” last text she received from her husband, 42.

Showing the screen, Kim revealed a picture showing a sign for West Lake with the message reading: “West Lake. The first ranch in our family. 50 years from now this will mean so much to us.”

“He got a ranch in Wyoming and they’re on the lake,” Kim explained. “It has something that’s called West Lake so he took a picture of it and that’s like ‘a sign’.”

But while Kim suggested the family was “maybe” considering relocating from Calabasas, California, she reassured the audience: “Not full time.”

The couple shares daughters North, six, and 19-month-old Chicago, as well as sons Saint, three, and Psalm, who they welcomed via surrogate in May.

The cosmetics mogul was tasked with reading out her last Google search, leaving her cringing as she said: “Oh my god, you guys, this is so embarrassing!”

The star then sent the audience into fits of laughter as she read out the question: “Is shapewear with pee hole better?”

“This is such a legit question,” she insisted, after her own shapewear line Skims sold out when it launched on Tuesday.

Imprisoned R. Kelly In Trouble For Missing A Court Date

(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s legal problems are piling up – a formal bench warrant has been issued for his arrest in Minnesota after he missed a hearing he couldn’t attend.

The “I Believe I Can Fly” singer is currently locked up in Illinois and authorities there refused his release to attend a court appearance in Minnesota, surrounding claims he offered a 17-year-old girl $200 to strip for him and dance in 2001.

R. Kelly is currently behind bars in Chicago on sexual abuse and other charges, while he also faces federal and state charges in New York.

Prosecutor Judith Cole told Judge Jay Quam during Thursday’s brief hearing in Minneapolis that federal authorities in Illinois weren’t willing “to give us access to him” until his case there is resolved.

The bench warrant was then issued as a formality.

Kelly’s lawyer Steve Greenberg has called the Minnesota charges “beyond absurd.”

Mysonne Discusses Rappers Getting Trapped By Vlad TV Interviews; Chides Akademiks

(AllHipHop Features) Mysonne was one of the first celebrities that helped bring DJ Vlad to the masses after he first got out of prison, but the rapper says it is your fault if you let an interview with the platform get you in legal trouble.

Mysonne explained why and how Vlad moves and it’s far more basic than you can ever imagine. He charges that Vlad is simply fascinated by Black culture.

“I tell people, “You know Vlad’s platform.” He’s never changed with this platform from the beginning, you know? But what I do say and people (criticize me like), “Yo, you criticize Akademiks.” What I do say is that Vlad don’t put words in your mouth. You know what I’m saying? He don’t. He doesn’t sit there and can make commentary that puts people against each other (like Akademiks). Whatever you say on Vlad’s platform is what he pushes. He doesn’t edit it. What he will do is put a title as clickbait because he knows that you’re going to click in and see what somebody says. Now that whatever they said there, he said it would probably not in a context that you read it in. So I’ve had this conversation with a lot of different people and they show you, “Oh, that’s disingenuous.” It’s not really disingenuous. He understands his dynamics. He understands his platform. Now if you go up there and you have an interview with Vlad and you talk and you say, “I’m not answering that or this and that.” He can’t tell you to say nothing, but you go up there and you talk about s### that you did in crime and he’s a white boy that he was interested – he’s like “For real?,” if you have a conversation with most white boys about s### that goes on in the hood, they’re going to keep asking you.”

“Nobody ain’t tell R. Kelly don’t say this and that when he was getting interviewed. You want to see what the f#ck he got to say. That’s what journalism is about. Journalism is not about you sitting here, you know, trying to um, censor somebody from their actual thoughts. You wanna you want to hear what the person that’s up there really is about.”

The rapper took it a step farther and said those that actually talk to Vlad must be responsible for themselves when they are conducting an interview. Check out the full interview with Mys.

The Bronx-bred rapper also made a distinction between his friend Vlad and his adversary DJ Akademiks, who he’s has been extremely critical of in the past.

“So he’s not there to censor you. Academiks don’t even be interviewing nobody. This n****s up there talking about beefs that somebody else had and who was scared of this person and they went back. You don’t know what the f###. If somebody was scared, you don’t know what happened. You don’t even know what people, you won’t even talk to those people face to face.”

[Akademiks] ain’t going nowhere by those people [he gossips about]. He’s never even sat and did an interview with those people. Do people that Vlad [talks to] he’s face-to-face interviewing with them. He calls me, “Yo, I want to interview you. I want to get your take.” [Akademiks] is up there talking about “Such and such ran, any shot. And they’re f#ckin’ scared and he’s the man [in his Akademiks voice.]” And like “What are you talking about!” Now, you got n#ggas mad.

In this interview, the “Gangsta But Woke” rapper speaks on a myriad of topics, including the Jay-Z/ NFL / Colin Kaepernick drama. The rapper also updates on how activists get money and how he’s doing as one of New York’s premier rappers. Lastly, Mysonne talks about Chikesia Clemons and the Waffle House police case as well as the plight Black men face in this overtly hostile and racist atmosphere.

Chance The Rapper: I Feel Like Cardi B & Nicki Minaj Got Pushed Into Their Beef

(AllHipHop News) Over the past seventeen months, Chance The Rapper has collaborated with rival rappers Cardi B and Nicki Minaj. Lil Chano appeared on Cardi’s Invasion of Privacy album, and he tapped Nicki for two tracks on his The Big Day studio LP.

Big Boy spoke to Chance about managing to stay out of the Cardi-Nicki beef. The over hour-long interview on Big Boy’s Neighborhood included the Chicago wordsmith sharing his views on the highly-publicized feud.

“A lot of that stuff is produced. Everything is curated before we get to see it. Like, all the information, the way that they phrase it to us, the way they put people against [each other],” said Chance. “It’s made for you to accept it a certain way, so a lot of people had to choose a side. I don’t want to speak for them at all, but I feel like to a certain extent, they got pushed into that too, and I don’t think that all of that was a hundred percent their feelings.”

The 3-time Grammy winner continued, “Just being honest, they are two of the greatest recording artists. And that’s just facts. The way that their music touches people, the way they’ve impacted music has been incredible.”

Rising rap star Megan Thee Stallion offered a similar sentiment about the Cardi B and Nicki Minaj situation. In August, she stated, “It’s really like a lot of the fans. They really make it seem like you’re ‘picking sides.’ I really, really, really like both of them. They’re two different people, two different rappers. It’s not even the same. I feel like we need to stop trying to compare them.”

During his Q&A with Real 92.3, Chance also revealed how the nuptials between Cardi and Offset inspired him to propose to his long-time girlfriend Kirsten Corley. Offset’s wife and Corley’s husband will join Tip “T.I.” Harris as judges on the forthcoming Netflix competition series Rhythm + Flow

Burna Boy, Yasiin Bey, Buddy & More Acts Added To 2019 A3C Music Festival Lineup

(AllHipHop News) A large number of artists and entrepreneurs will be in Atlanta for the A3C Music Festival. Organizers just added Burna Boy, Yasiin Bey, Mr. Eazi, Buddy, Tokyo Jetz, and more acts to the music lineup.

“For the past 15 years, the A3C brand has been synonymous with Hip Hop. EXCLUSIVE: Yo-Yo Recalls Being At Tupac Shakur’s Side When He Died

Interview By: Shirley Ju (@Shirju)

(AllHipHop News) The world lost Tupac Amaru Shakur on this date in 1996.

Fans and friends of the iconic entertainer will likely take a moment on September 13 to reflect on 2Pac’s legacy.

West Coast emcee Yolanda “Yo-Yo” Whitaker spoke to AllHipHop about the late Makaveli.

“Tupac and I were like brother and sister. Of course, we once had a relationship that grew into a brother/sister love,” Yo-Yo told AllHipHop. “High respect for each other. Till this day, his family and I are still very close. [I] work very closely with his organization.”

Shakur was shot on September 7 in Las Vegas after attending the Bruce Seldon versus Mike Tyson boxing match.

He passed away in a local hospital six days later, and his murder is still officially unsolved.

Most people believe a Crip named Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson was the gunman who shot Tupac.

Anderson was in an altercation with Tupac, Marion “Suge” Knight, and others in the lobby of the MGM Grand during the championship fight, just hours before the shooting.

Anderson’s uncle, Keefe D., has admitted it was his nephew who fired at Pac and Suge.

But the actual shooter’s identity has never been verified, and Orlando Anderson was gunned down at a car wash in Compton in 1998.

Yo-Yo, who stars in the reality TV show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood, was in the hospital in Las Vegas with Tupac when he finally expired.

“I thought he was gonna live, let’s just start there. He was very strong. My presence was known, he looked at me. He knew I was there,” Yo-Yo told AllHipHop.

Ash Minor From “The Four” Details Plans After TV Fame

Ash Minor is an urban rockstar, with goals of being the biggest artist in the world.

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia but arriving in Los Angeles two years ago, the singer-songwriter is trying to pave a new way, mixing in urban music, rock music, soul, blues, and everything in between.

It was the moment Ash got booked for a gig at a jazz club in Hollywood that he knew this music thing was his end-be-all.

AllHipHop caught up with Ash Minor at The Basement series in Los Angeles to talk about his budding career.

AllHipHop: Bring us back to the days on The Four. What was your fondest memory?

Ash Minor: I was only in LA for about a month when I went on The Four and that was a product of going down to all these clubs and playing. One of the scouts was in the audience, he’s like “wanna come on the show?” I said no. [chuckles] I said no three times. I wanted to find my footing and settle the dust in LA before I did that.

But the deal was right. They changed the contract for me and gave me a lot of creative freedom. I said to them “if you still let me push my envelope with what I want to do and we can meet in the middle,” and they did that. That’s why I came out of it positively. A lot of artists go on the shows and get lost in the process because they don’t have enough conviction with their independence to put their stipulations on it. If you’re an artist, you don’t compromise your art for nobody.

AllHipHop: What are some goals yourself as an artist at this point of your career?

Ash Minor: My goal is to be the best rockstar in the world, s##t. [chuckles] I’m never gonna putAsh Minor: a limit. I want to be one of the best live performers in the world. I’d love one of the biggest artists in the world. I want to unify culture.

I want to be a cultural icon, not just a musical icon. There’s so much stigma attached to these different genres now trying to blend together, but I want to show that culturally you can meet in the middle. There doesn’t have to be no difference.

AllHipHop: Who’s the most played artist on your phone?

Ash Minor: I really love Ty Dolla $ign. I’d love to collaborate with Ty$ because he’s such an incredible musician. I like Anderson .Paak too. I like artists who are musicians because coming from a musical standpoint, you can really tell when an artist is arranging their own music too.

Someone from my management end up in a session with Ty$ quite a few years ago, he said he played him some of his archived work that’s never going to come out and it was f##king sick. He said it was some jam stuff, it was f##king incredible.

AllHipHop: Best encounter you had with a fan?

Ash Minor: I mean, I’m hoping one day a fan tattoo my logo on them. That’s a vibe, but I’m not there yet. You down? [chuckles] I’m joking.

AllHipHop: What can we expect from you music-wise?

Ash Minor: We got my first EP called Conflict of Interest Vol. 1. It’s actually done, we’re in the mixing and mastering process. It’s a hybrid between rock music, urban music, a bit of R&B, soul, blues.

It’s like what’s my modern spin and my digestive interpretation of what rock music is? We’re doing something different, it’s really going to spearhead the new wave. I want to be at the pinnacle of that when it happens.

Is Instagram Cancelling Hip-Hop Activists Like T-Dubb-O?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Let me tell “us” something. We are under attack! They are out here trying to quiet loud voices and prevent our brightest minds from educating the masses!

We don’t march like we used to. We don’t have rallies like we used to! We don’t have artists spreading the word like we used to. Why? We aren’t connected like we used to be!

These artists are out there and they are fighting the good fight. So, I’ve been sent several people that have been canceled from IG without just reason. Now, I am not going to name them all but I am going to start off with one that has come forward.

T-Dubb-O has been to the White House, met with Obama AND he also spits those serious bars. For those that don’t know he was one of the first people to beging protesting and speaking out against the police when Mike Brown was murdered in the streets of Ferguson. Listen to what he has to say:

Now, this brother is doing his best to stand strong, but he cannot do it alone.

Now the other people that have been ended on Instagram, which is owned by Facebook are attempting to privately resolve the matter, but they are all activists that have committed no crime. They certainly aren’t as bad as some of the MAGA maggots I’ve seen act heinously over the last few years. This has continually been the issue with platforms owned by FB – they allow a certain type of racial hate thrive, but target people of color / Black people that combat that. They certainly aren’t hateful and that’s the issue.

What do you think of this?

By the way…
