(AllHipHop News) The Joe Budden Podcast is on temporary hiatus due to the COVID-19 outbreak in New York City. But Budden is still out to keep his followers entertained by taking his talk show talents to Instagram.
Yesterday, the host of the State of the Culture and Pull Up series went live on the social media platform. The IG session included special guests such as Tyrese, T-Pain, Scott Storch, DaniLeigh, Andre Harrell, and Stevie J.
Perhaps the biggest moment came when Drake showed up on Joe’s Live. The two frenemies have had beef in the past which included Budden releasing a series of diss tracks directed at Drake beginning with “Making A Murderer (Part 1).”
Despite their past rivalry, the Instagram interaction between Joey and Drizzy was very cordial. The OVO frontman even promised to sit down for an interview with Buddenwhen “the album’s ready.” They also referenced their love-hate relationship.
“All the other OVO dudes kick it with me… You’re the only one that, like, avoids me for some strange reason,” Budden told Drake. The “Toosie Slide” performer responded, “Never avoid you. I just don’t see you. We’re never in the same place.”

(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z and Meek Mill’s REFORM Alliance is lending a helping hand and donating nearly 100,000 surgical masks to healthcare workers, inmates, and correctional officers in prisons in the U.S.
The generous donation is to help fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. REFORM Alliance is an organization whose aim is to, “reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system.”
In a report by CBS News, the masks will be sent to several correctional facilities including 50,000 masks to Rikers Island, 40,000 masks to the Tennessee Department of Corrections, 5,000 masks to the Mississippi State Penitentiary at Parchman, and 2,500 masks to a Rikers medical facility.
“It’s a very vulnerable population,” Jessica Jackson, chief advocacy officer at REFORM told CBS News. “We’re really worried about the number of people coming in and out of the facility, and the fact that the people living there might be sitting ducks during this pandemic.”
REFORM took to Instagram and thanked everyone involved in coming together to bring the masks into prisons.
“These masks will help protect incarcerated people & correctional staff in #Rikers, the Tennessee DOC, and #ParchmanPrison from #COVID19,” they wrote.
Jay-Z also recently partnered up with Rihanna for another large donation. The Shawn Carter Foundation and the Clara Lionel Foundation each donated $1 million in support of the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles, The Fund for Public Schools, The American Civil Liberties Union, and the New York Immigration Coalition.
(AllHipHop News) Over the last few weeks, many Hip Hop and R&B stars have entertained fans on Instagram Live with one-on-one faceoffs. Timbaland versus Swizz Beatz, French Montana versus Tory Lanez, and Scott Storch versus Mannie Fresh have all been part of the quarantine battle movement.
People on social media continue to suggest new possible clashes. In some cases, artists are even calling out other artists for a friendly competition. For example, 2 Chainz wants to see one of his peers in the IG ring.
The Atlanta rhymer rejected the idea of battling Drake, Lil Wayne, or Snoop Dogg because he believes those legends have countless hits which would make it an uneven contest. However, Chainz did specifically name Philadelphia’s Meek Mill as a potential opponent.
“I’m trying to see who I can go against. I saw French say [Fabolous]. Fab got some dope ass girl records, but I got them Trap records. Then somebody said Meek, and I thought that would be dope. Let’s do it, Meek. Let’s do it,” stated 2 Chainz.
Unfortunately, it looks as if Meek Mill will not be stepping up to the plate this time. He posted in Chainz’s comment section, “I just wanna watchhhh lol respectfully bowing out to my brother.”
(AllHipHop News) There is more to Jahlil Beats than meets the eye… or ear for that matter.
The super producer is behind hits and mega remixes for some of your favorite rap stars, including Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Meek Mill and Drake, Jeezy, Game, Diddy, and others.
But Jahlil Beats has been doing more than just banging out neck-breaking beats in the crib. He is plotting on doing his part to combat gentrification in Black and Brown communities.
In a recent live-streamed interview on AllHipHop.com’s Instagram, Jahlil spoke candidly about his future ventures and desire to help the underserved finding affordable housing in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
“The last maybe three years, I’ve been heavy in the real estate in my hometown Chester, Pennsylvania. On the residential side, I got about like 400 properties that I’m developing,” Jahlil Beats revealed to AllHipHop.com.
“We are putting up nice little modular homes. My team, we own blocks downtown Chester…we bought like five acres in one spot, we bought three acres in another spot…I’ve got my own signature sneaker store (DTLR), that’s still number one in the region out there. And, with big companies coming in, there’s also gentrification. So, I’m just trying to create affordable housing.”
Hats off to Jahlil.
Though not a large city (under 35,000 people), Chester has a history of being an important municipal in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
According to Nextcity.org, it used to be an “industrial powerhouse where ships were built, locomotives soldered, and Fords assembled.” Now Chester is what is called a “weak market city.”
The platform notes that the median home sale price in Chester only a decade ago was $20,000.
To put that in perspective, Wilmington (Delaware – about 15 minutes south) has a median house sale of $69,350 and Philly (15 minutes north) is about $98,000.
To further display the level of poverty present in his city’s hometown, Nextcity.org states that a third of the people live below the poverty level.
And even though the average rent is under $800, a lot of tenants struggle to make ends meet over 35% of their annual income goes to landlords.
“[We are] just trying to control, and have it black-owned because a lot of these companies is coming in and they’re like taking over, but they don’t understand our people, or they don’t understand the demographic,” Jahil Beats said.

This set NBA Youngboy off and prompted him to take things to Instagram live.
“I ain’t never paid attention to a n##ga especially from no motherf##king cell, n##ga. The f##k a n##ga watching me for? Then a n##ga said I cooperated…about what you stupid b##ch? About my wife? ” he yelled with anger, pacing around his home.

(AllHipHop News) Megan Thee Stallion may have won a victory in the first round of a $1 million legal battle with her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment, but the case is far from being settled.
Megan claims the label bosses were trying to block the launch of her new material because she wants to renegotiate an “unfair” contract she signed five years ago.
Megan won a temporary restraining order against 1501 executives on March 2nd, giving her the green light to move forward with the release of her nine-track project called Suga.
Almost a month after the release of Suga, Carl Crawford is still trying to force Megan into arbitration to handle the dispute, per the terms of their original contract.
Earlier this week, 1501 Certified filed new documents outlining their reasons why Megan needs to sit down at the negotiating table to hash things out instead of trying the case in front of a judge.
“Nothing in [Megan’s] response overcomes the requirements of theArbitration Clause or the strong presumption in favor of arbitration. The Court should grant [1501’s] Motion, compel arbitration of [Megan’s] claims, and stay this case,” argued Tom Van Arsdel, who is repping 1501 Certified in the lawsuit.
Both Carl Crawford and J. Prince claim Megan Thee Stallion allowed Roc Nation’s to “brainwash” her into pursuing the legal action.
(AllHipHop News) Floyd Mayweather’s daughter Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a young woman.
According to court documents, 19-year-old Yaya was arrested at 1:30 am Saturday and taken to Harris County Jail Saturday on suspicion of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The young woman stabbed is Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, the mother of NBA Youngboy’s child.
The incident reportedly stems from an altercation between Yaya, NBA Youngboy, and Jacobs.
That’s when Yaya stated that she was Youngboy’s fiancé and told Jacobs to leave.
The situation then moved to the kitchen where Yaya reportedly held two knives and charged at Jacobs with one of them.
Capt. Jonathan Zitzman of the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office told NBC News that Jacobs suffered from non-life threatening injuries and underwent surgery.
News of the incident flooded social media after video clips from the scene went viral. Blood from the victim and police cars can be seen in the video clips.
NBA Youngboy also seems to have reacted to the news on Twitter.
He wrote, “Hold it down for your love one’s up in heaven and they will do the same I’m very blessed and protected if you ask me.”
He then followed up with a next tweet stating, “That’s very unprofessional though suck my d##k b##ch,” which led fans to believe he was referring to Yaya.
Yaya Mayweather was released from jail on $30,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
