Drake Bringing Ultimate Rap League To Caffeine With New Streaming Deal

(AllHipHop News) Drake has teamed up with streaming platform Caffeine for a multi-year deal and he’s already partnered with the Ultimate Rap League to launch a new channel for battle rap.

The web-based company offers a variety of live sports and esports content from providers like ESPN, Fox Sports, Riot Games, as well as celebrities like Offset, The Game, LaMelo Ball and now Drake and URL.

“I’ve always loved URL and admired what Smack and his team have been able to create, it just wasn’t easily accessible,” Drake said in a press release. “It’s exciting to be in a position where I’m able to bring Caffeine to the table and help provide URL with the tools they need to elevate the viewing experience and make it more accessible to fans.”

While it is unclear how much Drake will stream from his own dedicated channel on Caffeine, the rap star is definitely focused on building URL’s audience with the battle league’s co-founders Smack White and Eric Beasley.

“For Smack and Drake, Caffeine is a way to bring battle rap to a new platform, expose it to new audiences and really elevate the battle scene. It is exactly the reason we created Caffeine and I’m grateful that Drake, Smack and their communities will be coming to Caffeine to check it all out,” said Caffeine’s founder, Ben Keighran.

URL’s channel on Caffeine will launch on February 12th with a chat featuring URL’s founders.

On February 19th, fans can watch previews for the Genesis battle rap showdown, which will air live, and for free on February 29th at 5:00 PM EST.

EXCLUSIVE: XXXTentacion Murder Suspect Loses Fight For Bond

(AllHipHop News) One of the four men accused of shooting and killing rap star XXXTentacion has been denied bond.

In September of 2019, Trayvon Newsome’s lawyer filed documents with the court, claiming he was legally entitled to be bonded out until his trial for the murder.

Newsome was in court last week, where prosecutors presented more evidence to Judge Michael Usan during an Arthur Hearing to support two charges: first-degree murder and robbery with a deadly weapon.

Trayvon Newsome, along with Robert Allen, Michael Boatwright, and Dedrick Williams, has been charged with Capital Homicide.

The men could be executed by the state of Florida for stalking XXXTentacion and then senselessly killing the rap star during a botched robbery outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida in June of 2018.

Lil Wayne Confirms His Love For La’Tecia Thomas

(AllHipHop News) Lil Wayne’s romance with his model fiancee La’Tecia Thomas has been made Instagram official.

The rap superstar has kept his relationship – and a secret 2019 proposal – with the Australian plus-sized beauty largely out of the spotlight, but he made his first appearance on Thomas’ social media page in a series of photos of the couple playing with sparklers.

She captioned the shots with emojis of a red heart and a stick of dynamite – the same symbol she recently had tattooed onto her right ring finger, apparently matching one Wayne has on his cheek, featuring a TNT detonator.

The Instagram posts emerge just two weeks after Wayne and Thomas made their red carpet debut together at the album release party for the hip-hop veteran’s latest project, Funeral.

The “Lollipop” hitmaker has yet to discuss the romance in public, although he referenced his lady love on the album’s tracks “Stop Playin With Me” and “Not Me,” on which he rapped, “You know wifey from Australia/She said ‘Cheers mate’/Then we toast and see how you n##gas tears taste.”

The marriage will be Wayne’s second following his 2004 union to high school sweetheart Toya Johnson, the mother of his 21-year-old daughter Reginae. They divorced in 2006.

Wayne, 37, also has three younger sons from previous relationships, including model/actress Lauren London and singer Nivea.

T.I. Working On Pure Heat! Behind The Scenes!

(AllHipHop Rumors) The KANG is back. Well, the King of the South is ALMOST back, not that he ever left. Word in the trap is that Tip has been working in the studio for quite some time, amassing a gang of songs. Now, sources say he has his normal crew around him and they have been encouraging him to do it. The time is now…

This past weekend, AllHipHop was on hand for T.I. recording a new video with the legendary director Hype Williams. Clearly, I was not there, but I am “in the know.” Now, I don’t know the name of the song, but I know some of it. The song FLIPS the beat for Biggie’s “Hypnotize” into a new Southern anthem with a new bop. The song is produced by Juicy J of the Three 6 Mafia and it is definitely going to be banging for the spring and summer.

Here are a few behind-the-scenes from the AllHipHop Atlanta Crew.

OK! From what I am hearing, EVERYTHING Tip is doing is dope. Some of the songs are , mature, emotive AND hard for the streets.

Omarion Discusses The Public’s Reaction To His Ex-Girlfriend Apryl Jones Dating His Ex-Bandmate Fizz

(AllHipHop News) Now that Omarion is on a press run to promote “The Millennium Tour 2020” the trek’s co-headliner is being asked about the drama surrounding Fizz and Apryl Jones. The relationship between the two Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood cast members became tabloid fodder for months.

Jones is the mother of Omarion’s two children. Fizz is Omarion’s former bandmate in B2K. As a result of that dynamic, many social media users blasted Fizz and Apryl for disrespecting the singer by displaying their courtship on Love & Hip Hop. However, Omarion became a meme for appearing to be unbothered about his ex-friend and ex-girlfriend connecting in such a public way.

“I want to be clear though. What me and Apryl had is what me and Apryl had. We created something really beautiful and gave something truly beautiful to each other that’s really irreplaceable,” said Omarion on Big Boy’s Neighborhood. “At the end of the day, even though I have public issues I wish no ill intention or malice towards anyone.”

When asked if it is crazy that people outside the situation express how they think he should feel about Apryl and Fizz, Omarion answered, “Yeah, no doubt. Especially because people assumed that nothing is being done.”

Last October, Fizz appeared on VH1’s Brunch With Tiffany series with Tiffany “New York” Pollard. The reality show star told Pollard that he currently does not have a personal relationship with Omarion even though they went on B2K’s Millennium Tour together in 2019.

Omarion spoke about the status of his friendship with Fizz while sitting with Big Boy. The “Ice Box” performer stated, “I don’t have a relationship with Fizz. But I think there should be an opportunity for us to talk one day. I don’t know when that is, but there should be an opportunity for us to… Because it’s such a question to people, so it kinda creates this layer of ‘I don’t know.'”

Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” Tops The Hot 100 Chart For A Fifth Consecutive Week

(AllHipHop News) Roddy Ricch’s reign on the Hot 100 chart just won’t let up. The Compton rhymer sits atop the tally for a fifth straight week with his Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial track “The Box.”

With 63.2 million streams in the United States, “The Box” also leads the Streaming Songs chart for the sixth week. The Atlantic recording artist has ruled over the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and Hot Rap Songs chart for six weeks as well.

Ricch has managed to prevail over the Hot 100 for 71% of the year so far without releasing an accompanying music video, but the success of “The Box” is not just from streams. The single sold 12,000 units (#9, Digital Song Sales chart) and collected 46.1 million all-format airplay audience impressions on the radio (#15, Radio Songs chart) over the last tracking week.

Future and Drake’s “Life Is Good” collaboration continues to remain in the runner-up position for a fourth consecutive week. Post Malone’s “Circles” presently holds the third spot after reaching #1 for two weeks in 2019 and one week in 2020.

G-Eazy Addresses Rumors He Hooked Up With Megan Thee Stallion

(AllHipHop News) For an entire day, a large part of the Internet believed that Megan Thee Stallion and G-Eazy were in some sort of romantic relationship. The speculation was sparked by footage of G-Eazy repeatedly kissing Megan on the cheek spreading across social media.

Instead of instantly squashing the rumors, G-Eazy fed into the frenzy by posting a photo of Megan to his IG page with four ” ” emojis. Hot Girl Meg finally publicly denied she was having sex with the “No Limit” rapper.

G-Eazy also reportedly discussed the gossip surrounding his connection to Thee Stallion at the 28th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on Sunday. According to People, the 30-year-old Bay Area native born Gerald Earl Gillum told reporters about Megan, “We’re just friends.”

Some observers have questioned if the intimate interaction uploaded to G-Eazy’s Instagram Story was just a “publicity stunt.” Megan recently released her single “B.I.T.C.H.” which slipped 28 spots on the latest Hot 100 chart, and Gerald’s “Still Be Friends” featuring Tyga and Tory Lanez landed on DSPs less than a week after the kissing video went viral.

Nicki Minaj On Not Collaborating With Kendrick Lamar Yet: He Don’t Wanna Get Washed

(AllHipHop News) Throughout her decade-plus career, Nicki Minaj has appeared on records with Hip Hop stars such as Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Drake, Ludacris, Big Sean, Cardi B, and more. However, the Queens-raised rapstress has never collaborated with Kendrick Lamar.

On the latest episode of Queen Radio, Minaj addressed why a song with her and K. Dot has never been released. She spoke about that particular omission in her discography while the deejay dropped bombs over her lighthearted explanation.

“I’m gonna give you the truthful answer right now. Everybody get your Q-tips and clean out your earholes. The reason why I haven’t collaborated with Kendrick Lamar yet is because he don’t wanna get washed,” said Nicki before laughing.

She continued, “I don’t know, but I’m a huge fan of him and his talents. I’m looking forward to collaborating with him one day, hopefully, because he’s animated. I like the animation. But also he just respects the craft of rap.”

This is not the first time Minaj has mentioned her animated style in comparison to Lamar’s animated style. Back in 2014, the topic was brought up during a CRWN conversation with Elliott Wilson.

“I got a call from Mister Cee after he heard ‘Bottoms Up,’ and he was like, ‘You know what? I gotta give you your props,'” recalled Nicki. “‘Bottoms Up’ was very animated, but he took the time to listen. It takes skill.”

She added, “And then I see people doing it now. I’m not trying to be shady, but sometimes when I hear the animated things that Kendrick Lamar does, I think to myself, ‘Wow, n*ggas is on Kendrick’s d*ck, but when the kid… talking about King of New York… I respect and like him, but when I paid attention to certain things he did, I said… [makes a confused face].”

Ari Lennox On Apologizing To Oprah & Gayle King: My Opinion Will Always Remain

(AllHipHop News) The fallout from the controversial Gayle King interview with Lisa Leslie continues to play out. Several celebrities, such as Snoop Dogg, expressed their frustration that King repeatedly asked Leslie about Kobe Bryant’s 2004 sexual assault case a week after Bryant passed away in a helicopter crash.

R&B newcomer Ari Lennox also slammed King and her friend Oprah Winfrey as self-hating “coons” for what she saw as the media figures’ attempt to tear down the legacy of Black men. She later apologized for her comments.

The Dreamville songstress then hopped on Twitter to address her apology. Lennox told her followers that she was wrong for her verbiage but she had not changed her point of view about Gayle and Winfrey.

“My apology was towards people I genuinely hurt and traumatized. My apology was for how I worded everything and how I disrespected people in trying to get my opinion across. But my opinion will always remain. I am not ‘running away.’ I just rather not speak on anything anymore,” tweeted Lennox.

When a Twitter user suggested “they” got Ari “shook,” the Shea Butter Baby album creator responded, “No just drained and tired.” She also added, “No one is silencing me. I’m silencing myself. Trust me I’m happy about it.”

Pras Gets Aggressive With Photographer After Child Support Hearing

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Pras almost got into it with a photographer outside of a New York courthouse earlier today (February 10th).

According to The New York Post, Pras snapped on one of their photographers after his child support hearing.

The Fugees rap star allegedly broke part of the photographer’s camera during his fit of rage when R. Umar Abbasi started taking pictures of him.

According to Abbasi, the only reason Pras didn’t beat him up was because a court officer intervened, and stopped any further escalation.

The former Fugees star, real name Prakazrel Michel, is currently in a battle to have his $4,800 a month child support payments to his son Landon’s mom Angela Severiano lowered.

Pras was p##### off because the nine-year-old has been reading the bad press about his famous dad’s battle over the child $127,000 back child support bill.

The judge is ordering Pras to fork over $20,000 of the back bill by March 2nd or face further consequences.

Pras isn’t exactly hurting for money – he just cannot access the cash that he does have.

Pras says he’s struggling since the U.S. frozen over $75 million of his money over accusations of campaign-finance violations connected to a global financial scandal and Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

Azealia Banks Is Allegedly Threatened With A Gun!

(AllHipHop Rumors) According to Azealia Banks, her neighbor, who is white, pulled a gun out on her.

Banks alleges that this neighbor knocked on her Southern California home door after the threats. The rapper took to her Instagram live to let her fans know that she was afraid of going to the police about the incident because they were going to take his side. She also says that she is the only black person living on her street.

The 28-year-old was so afraid, she gave her address to her fans asking them for help. The police came to her residence and she says the neighbor never had a gun. She also says she will be moving back home to New York to work on an album.

Now we all know Azealia is known for being very vocal and her credibility is in shambles, but if this incident did happen like she said it did, then let’s hope she finds the courage to report this.

Angry Twitter Mob Hosts #EminemIsOverParty

(AllHipHop News) Eminem has come under fire from fans on social media for his repeated use of homophobic slurs in his music, after reuniting with his “uncle” Elton John at the Oscars on Sunday.

The rapper scooped the Best Original Song title for “Lose Yourself,” the lead track from his semi-autobiographical movie, “8 Mile,” back in 2003.

However, he skipped the ceremony that year, and hit the stage on Sunday to deliver a surprise rendition – which became the most trending moment on social media from the awards show.

The performance also allowed Eminem to catch up with pal Elton John, who won the prize this year for “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from “Rocketman.”

“I got to see my Uncle Elton tonight at the Oscars. Congrats on your win too, Sir!” Eminem captioned the image.

However, fans on social media were quick to call out the friendship, with one questioning, “‘I wonder how Elton John feels about Eminem still using homophobic slurs in his music.”

“Remember when Eminem performed with Elton John to prove he wasn’t homophobic? Because that was a thing that actually happened,” another stated, referring to their performance of the rapper’s iconic hit Stan at the Grammy Awards in 2001, while a third posted, “Thinking about the time when I was telling 2 (people) Eminem was wrong for using the f word and that it’s homophobic and they went ‘he can’t be homophobic otherwise he wouldn’t be friends with Elton John’.”

And even actor Billy Eichner weighed in on the controversy, adding: “Well, you can still sing the word ‘f##got’ a million times and still perform at the Oscars that’s about ‘diversity.’ Mmkay.”

Shortly after the performance, the hashtags “#EminemIsCANCELLED” and “#EminemIsOverParty” began trending on Twitter, in response to his controversial lyrics.

The star, real name Marshall Bruce Mathers III, recently came under fire over his new tune “Unaccommodating,” from his chart-topping album Music to Be Murdered By, which features “sickening” references to the 2017 bombing at Ariana Grande’s Manchester Arena gig.

Ceelo Green Says Hardest Part About “The Masked Singer” Was Getting Into His Outfit

(AllHipHop News) Ceelo Green has admitted the hardest part of being on “The Masked Singer U.K.” was dealing with his heavy Monster costume.

The “Forget You” singer was the ninth contestant to be unveiled on the British singing competition on Saturday night, although his identity had been speculated about for weeks beforehand.

In an interview after the semi-final aired, CeeLo revealed he found it more than a little challenging to perform in such a huge, heavy, furry outfit.

“The toughest part of the process was the physical labor I believe,” he said. “To be able to wear the weight of the costume, also focus on performing, giving the audience animation and giving them energy and charisma, but then also finding your breathing and your breath control and being able to sing the songs effectively.

“All at the same time, so it’s a lot to think about and juggle.”

CeeLo also admitted he would have loved to stay in the competition and make it to the final, adding: “It was a little disappointing, you know? I definitely would’ve liked to win once I got to that point.

“But nonetheless it was a wonderful experience and I’m glad I made it that far so no love lost.”

Other stars to be unveiled on the show have included Lil Wayne, Kelis and Skin from Skunk Anansie.

Nicki Minaj Was “Bullied” Into Releasing New Single “Yikes”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Nicki Minaj was “bullied” into rush-releasing her new single, “Yikes.”

The “Moment 4 Life” hitmaker’s latest material hit streaming services on Friday, days after teasing social media followers with a brief preview of the tune last Monday.

Fans responded so well, Nicki Minaj claims she felt pressured to finish the song and release it to the masses – while her label chiefs also apparently pressed her to complete the track.

The newlywed hip-hop star made the remarks in a Twitter question and answer session, when one devotee asked her how “Yikes” came about.

“I was playing a snippet for my crazy fans & they made me put it out,” she replied. “They are bullies. I only had 1 verse done. The label bullied me too. I’ve been bullied.”

Nicki Minaj went on to share how she improvised the hook – and she loved it so much, she left it in.

“I made up the hook with no (lyrics written on) paper,” she explained. “Just freestyled in the booth cuz I loved the beat. so the yikes part is me hearing the beat for the very first time. The verses I wrote down. The outro was a freestyle.”

“Yikes” is Minaj’s first solo single of the year, but the initial teaser drew some harsh criticism after she referenced late civil rights activist Rosa Parks and her role in sparking the Montgomery bus boycott of 1955 in the lyrics.

“All you b##ches Rosa Parks/Uh oh, get your a## up,” she raps on the track, which was previewed on the eve of what would have been Parks’ 107th birthday.

Nicki Minaj blamed “bad timing” for the controversy, while sources alleged she didn’t mean to “offend or disrespect Parks.”

However, Nicki Minaj has since made it clear she was unaware of any backlash – and she wouldn’t have taken notice anyway.

“Never said this,” she posted on Instagram Stories, alongside the headline. “Had no clue anyone was mad. Don’t care. #Yikes.”

The single is expected to feature on the follow up to 2018’s Queen album.

The “Beautiful Girls” singer was outside Dino’s Chicken & Burgers eatery when officers arrived and ordered one man to get down on the ground.

Kingston was among several people placed in handcuffs and questioned.

According to reports, no firearm was found, and the 30-year-old was subsequently released without charge.

Sean Kingston has yet to comment on the incident.
