Uh Oh! Tupac’s Estate Allegedly Compares ‘All Eyez On Me’ To Lifetime’s Aaliyah Biopic

(AllHipHop Rumors) I don’t know the last time I’ve seen folks so divided on a biopic….well maybe ‘Notorious’. Usually people either unanimously hate it or they love it. Folks are completely divided over the Tupac biopic, ‘All Eyez On Me’.

While it’s getting praised by people like The Game, Snoop Dogg, and MC Hammer, Jada Pinkett-Smith, 50 Cent, and the Tupac estate are none too pleased.

Apparently Tupac’s estate is not happy with the new ‘All Eyez on Me’ film, which highlights the late, great rapper’s life.

Insider sources claim that those involved in the estate have never promoted the film because allegedly, Afeni Shakur never wanted L.T. Hutton to produce it in the first place.

According to Fameolous, reports also claim that this version of the film’s script was like a version of Lifetime’s biopic about Aaliyah, which flopped with audiences and was never approved by the late singer’s family.

Via Fameolous,

“Tupac’s family cannot speak on the ‘All eyez on me’ or his estate due to contract so I will. Tupac family isn’t happy with the movie and before Tupac’s mother passed she wanted @johnsingleton to produce the film, not LT Hutton. John had a better script from the receipts I have. In particular, John was going to tell the untold story about Left Eye and Tupac relationship that a lot of people don’t know about. The story about John having a rape scene isn’t true! The film was rushed and they only spent around 48 days on the entire movie. You may have noticed Tupac’s estate who runs his Instagram account @2pac has yet to promote the movie?????? @50cent is not hating when he says the movie is not put together correctly…. he just knows the public has been played by this producer who put out the film despite many people disagreeing. As a director of movies and hit show series… 50cent respectfully has a duty to give you the real. The truth is most of the people promoting the movie 2Pac didn’t even like or was beefing with before his death. This version of the movie originally was suppose to be the “next Aaliyah movie” & we all know how that played out. John Singleton script is the real movie and the one Tupac’s mother wanted for her son legacy. I never met John or ever spoken to him I’m just giving y’all the real tea as always. Although Demetrius Shipp Jr was a great actor in this film… he wasn’t the first choice despite the lies that were told on The Breakfast Club by LT. In fact, In 2015 actor (@MarccRose ) who played Tupac at the end of the Compton movie was the person who they wanted to play in ‘All Eyez On Me’. (Those Receipts are available as well (text messages). However, Marc decided he didn’t want to do it. MarccRose walked away because John Singleton left and he found out Afeni Shakur was not on board. Jada Pickett Smith was never contacted by LT Hutton or handed the script to approve. Originally, Jada was in the talks of being consulted when John Singleton was there but before it could get there LT Hutton shut it down by firing John Singleton and going his own route. Now we all know if Tupac was alive Jada would have at least read it.”

Hmmmmmmmm What are your thoughts on the biopic and it’s surrounding controversy?

Switching Sides! Did Wack 100 Have A Change Of Heart About Tupac?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Wack 100 is a strange character, a paid one, or both.

After talking so much shhhh about Tupac before the release of Pac’s ‘All Eyez On Me’ biopic, Wack 100 has not only been defending the movie, he also bought 100 tickets from one theater for the film.

Some folks already theorized that Wack may be on payroll from those involved with the movie to drum up controversy surrounding the movie and Pac to make people want to rush and see it even more!

“It’s this simple All EYEZ ON ME” is a 2 Pac Bio Pic a excellent one at that. So when you say the movie is trash your pretty much saying what this man represented was trash. Why because the movie is about 1 mans life and the movie is on point! So to down that is to down him bottom line! #HateItOrLoveIt but you gotta respect it,” said Wack.

Yeah man, this man is either bipolar or definitely on someone’s payroll.

For him to tell critics that they are downing Tupac when they are downing the movie (false) is a complete joke as he was the very one tarnishing Tupac’s name and legacy for months.

Wack also accused Tupac fans of being scared of 50 Cent, because he feels folks won’t admit that they like the movie because 50 has been trashing it. The film has certainly had mixed reviews. “It wasn’t trash, but it wasn’t stellar”, seems to be the opinion of most.

What do you make of Wack’s “change of heart” and the biopic?

Remy Ma Calls Out Nicki Minaj For Being Fraudulent!

(AllHipHop Rumors) ATL was pretty live this past weekend especially with Hot 107.9 having their annual Birthday Bash concert.

Not only were Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj both in town, they both hit the Birthday Bash stage.

Remy has been the only one to seemingly attempt to bury the hatchet between her and Nicki at times, but even she can’t resist the petty itch sometimes when it comes to taking shots at Nicki or responding to her antics.

Remy got word that Nicki was allegedly trying to act tough on stage, so she made sure to let her fans know that her and Nicki were not in the building at the same time. Because of the possibility of rift raft, all artists allegedly had to leave the venue after they performed.

“Everybody knows I’m still on papers & I really be on some chill sh-t; perhaps that’s why b-tches out here “FRAUDing,” said Remy.

She even had a series of questions and comments to Nicki in her hashtags. Remy says Nicki tried to act tough hours after she was gone. She even said “No Frauds” and Nicki’s 3 pack flopped. Remy asked Nicki why she had on fur in Atlanta in June, and advised her to stop speaking on felons until her alleged pedophile brother got out of trial. Damn! Remy is doing really well with her anger management because I know she would really drag Nicki if she wasn’t on probation.

Nicki has been very quiet, but she did take the petty route by liking shady comments on Twitter and Instagram.

(AllHipHop Rumors) Um… I had no idea that Bow Wow would be a part of the So So Def ‘So So Summer’ tour. It’s a completely different and younger generation, but good for him I guess!

Bow Wow took to Instagram to blast the tour as he called it the worst tour ever. Bow claims that those running the tour are playing with his money, and if it wasn’t for JD and the kids, he would’ve quit already.

“Worst tour ever! Business wise. Just give me my money. If it wasnt for the rap game kids and the fans and Jermaine I WOULDA BEEN OFF THIS SH-T. Now run mines. Bow isn’t backing down, and he says they have 4 days to run him his coins! Apparently Bow Wow is most upset that the tour selling shirts with his face on them without them discussing anything about merchandise.

Faizon Love Says Snoop Dogg Could Have Prevented 2Pac From Getting Killed (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) With the All Eyez On Me movie based on Tupac Shakur hitting theaters last Friday, many people have expressed their feelings and opinions about the Hip Hop phenomenon.

Veteran comedian Faizon Love videotaped himself speaking about Pac and his relationship with Snoop Dogg.

“I always felt when Pac died it was because… Snoop could have stopped that whole thing,” said Love in the clip. “Snoop was a Crip. Pac offended some Crips doing some dumb n-gga, gang sh-t. It set off a whole chain of events. You know n-ggas in L.A. don’t get mad, they get even.”

There is speculation that Shakur was killed as a result of a violent encounter in Las Vegas with alleged Crips gang member Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson.

Pac’s label Death Row Records and its Blood gang affiliates were also rumored to be involved in a beef with California-based Crips.

According to Love, the Vegas shooting that caused Tupac to lose his life could have been prevented by him closely aligning with his “2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted” collaborator.

“Pac would be alive today if he had’a stayed allies with Snoop and not crossed Snoop,” stated the star of Friday and The New Edition Story. “Think about it. Out of all the songs Pac did, he only did one with Snoop.”

Reggie Wright, the former head of Death Row security, spoke to AllHipHop.com in 2014 about what he felt led to Pac getting killed in 1996.

“The Bloods and Crips assault at MGM,” Wright offered. “Of course [Anderson’s uncle Duane “Keffe D” Davis] was trying to save his life, but you don’t go implicate yourself and your nephew to a murder that you’re already suspected of. Then you implicate yourself to it? Keefe D’s statements are accurate to what happened.”

He continued, “That’s just what happens out here in the L.A. life and Vegas. Bloods not scared of Crips. Crips not scared of Bloods. Their mentality: you do something against them, then they gonna do something back against you. Orlando [Anderson] was from the Crips side, and the guys that did that in L.A. were from the Bloods side.”

50 Cent Deletes IG Posts Making Fun Of The 2Pac Biopic ‘All Eyez On Me’

.(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent was one of the most vocal critics of the new Tupac Shakur biopic All Eyez On Me.

The rapper/actor posted several messages on Instagram making fun of the movie.

50 left one of the IG posts on his page, but others have since been deleted.

In particular, the caption that joked about modern technology appearing in All Eyez On Me, which is set in the 1990’s, is gone.

“When you look at this 2 PAC movie, and I know you want to say I’m hating. But there’s a scene in it where faith and PAC are taking a picture and THEY HAVE A F-CKING IPHONE IN IT. what the f-ck is this man,” wrote 50 in the now omitted Instagram post.

There was another since-deleted post that featured 50 Cent stating, “Ok guys I changed my mind, I like the movie. The iPhone in 1996 could have been a metaphor for 2Pac being ahead of his time. LOL.”

However, as of press time, 50 did not remove a post where he referred to AEOM as “trash.”

“Man I watched the 2 PAC film, that was some bullsh-t. Catch that sh-t on a fire stick. trust me. LOL SMH TRASH,” said the Power executive producerPower.

That IG upload featured a photo of 50 while the others were pictures of Pac.

DJ Akademiks captured the removed Instagram posts that were once on 50 Cent’s page.

YFN Lucci Clowns Young Thug For Comparing Himself To 2Pac

(AllHipHop News) From Troy Ave’s NuPac project to Boosie announcing a BooPac body of work to T.I. taking part in Tupac cosplay, this year has seen a lot of rappers attempting to connect themselves to the late icon.

One of the latest modern rap stars to embrace the Pac legacy is Young Thug.

“I dropped E.B.B.T.G on 2PAC’S bday because I’m the #newPAC I feel like I am the thug he didn’t get to become #SoImGoinFinishWhatHeStarted,” tweeted Thugger over the weekend.

That statement did not seem to sit well with YFN Lucci.

The “Key to the Streets” performer sent out his own tweet with a clown emoji that read, “Pac would’ve never wore a dress.”

Lucci was referring to the fact that Thug has worn dresses throughout his career, most notably for the cover of the Jeffery mixtape.

It appeared Young Thug responded to Lucci on Twitter with a few subtweets.

“lil mad or big mad peon,” tweeted the Beautiful Thugger Girls creator.

Thug later added, “Thank god u able to take care ya mama, and be humble Doin to much could become a deep sleep.”

This was not the first time YFN Lucci had jokes for Young Thug.

Lucci was asked about Thug during a 2016 interview with DJ Smallz, and he simply responded, “I don’t know him. Never heard of him.”

The feud between the two Atlanta natives also includes YFN Lucci posting alleged text messages online from Thug’s fiancé Jerrika Karlae.

‘All Eyez On Me’ Opens In Third With Over $27 Million At The Box Office

(AllHipHop News) The highly-anticipated All Eyez On Me was expected to bring in around $17 million – $20 million in its first weekend of release, but the Tupac Shakur biopic surpassed that total.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Benny Boom-directed film grossed an estimated $27.1 million.

All Eyez On Me was released on June 16 which was also Shakur’s birthday.

The movie’s opening day haul was around $12.9 million.

“Our style of marketing is that we try to event-ize our properties as best we can. We selected Tupac Shakur’s birthday as the release date given the event nature around that and we took the opportunity to engage his fanbase through social media. We had a strategic campaign to engage in one or two clicks; social media provides a way of purchasing tickets quickly,” said Codeblack Film EVP Quincy Newell.

The $27 million total landed All Eyez On Me in third for the weekend box office.

Disney/Pixar’s Cars 3 drove into first place with $53.5 million.

The animated flick was followed by Wonder Woman’s third week gain of $40.77 million.

While All Eyez On Me was met with unfavorable reviews from critics (38/100 on Metacritic, 24% on Rotten Tomatoes), it scored well with moviegoers (A- on CinemaScore).

Acting newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. stars as Pac.

The rest of the cast includes Danai Gurira (Afeni Shakur), Kat Graham (Jada Pinkett), Jamal Woolard (The Notorious B.I.G), Dominic L. Santana (Suge Knight), Annie Ilonzeh (Kidada Jones), Jamie Hector (Mutulu Shakur), and Keith Robinson (Atron Gregory).

Jay Z Will Drop A Brand New Album; Check Out The First Single “Adnis”

(AllHipHop News) Rap mogul Jay Z surprised his fans with a snippet of a new song, to promote a brand-new hip-hop album.

The rapper dropped a teaser for a song called “Adnis” off of his new album titled 4:44, which will reportedly be released at midnight on June 30.

“Letter to my dad that I never wrote/Speeches I prepared that I never spoke/Words on the paper that I never read/Prose’s never penned they stayed in my head.”

Earlier this month, a trailer promoting the release hit the Internet, but most people concluded the message was related to the new movie “4:44.”

The new album from Jay Z is his first release since 2013’s Magna Carta Holy Grail, which hit #1 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts.

The news of an upcoming album release caps off a busy weekend for Jay Z.

His wife Beyoncé gave birth to twins over the weekend and the rapper spent Father’s Day donating money to various charities to help incarcerated men who can’t afford bail to get out of jail.

Jay also became the first rapper ever to be inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame.

Nelly Wants Father’s Day Moved

(AllHipHop News) Nelly is campaigning for the Father’s Day holiday in the U.S. to be moved, complaining it’s too close in date to Mother’s Day.

The 42-year-old singer will marked the occasion on Sunday (June 18) with his children Chanel, 23, and Cornell, 18, and niece and nephew, Sydney, 20, and Shawn, 26, following their mother’s death in 2005.

And while he’s looking forward to spending time with the most important people in his life, he told the New York Post’s gossip column Page Six that he believes Father’s Day should be celebrated at another point in the year.

“We don’t get the hoo-rah Mother’s Day gets, you know?” he ranted. “They were advertising Mother’s Day four months ago … Then they slam ours in a couple weeks after Mother’s Day, like we’re in the shadows.”

“I think they should move Father’s Day, I think we should be way away from Mother’s Day.”

In America, Mother’s Day is on the second Sunday in May, while Father’s Day is on the third Sunday in June.

Despite his reservations about the celebration of fatherhood, the “Hot In Herre” star admits that being a parent is one of the parts of his life he loves the most.

“My kids are awesome and just having them there is the blessing for me,” he smiled. “Just being with your kids, I think that’s a great gift for fathers.”

He was booked into the

Death Row’s Chief Engineer Writes Tell-All Book About The Label

(AllHipHop News) A new tell all book reveals the inner workings of Death Row records, and some of its most popular artists.

Veteran producer Tommy “Tommy D” Daugherty is releasing a new tell-all book titled “Stranded on Death Row: With 2Pac, Dr. Dre, & Snoop Dogg.”

The producer details his time at Death Row, from the label’s inception, to its eventual demise in 2006, after the label’s CEO Marion “Suge” Knight, was forced to file for bankruptcy.

During his time at Death Row, Tommy D engineered hits for Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, and of course Tupac Shakur.

According to Tommy, he got the job by chance.

“I was at Death Row from the beginning to the end. I was hired while working on Prince’s albums… the rap guys next door had apparently kicked the engineer out!” Daugherty stated.

Tommy, who is an RIAA Diamond certified engineer (over 10 million sold), has worked with artists from a variety of genres, including George Clinton, Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney.

But it was his position as the chief engineer that gave him a bird’s eye view into the inner workings of Death Row records, and the recording artists on the label.

Tommy’s new book will reveal some new details about Death Row records, the “East Coast/West Coast” feud and his extensive work with Pac.

“Stranded on Death Row: With 2Pac, Dr. Dre, & Snoop Dogg will hit stores sometime this year.

MC Hammer Defends Tupac Biopic After Criticism From Jada Pinkett Smith

(AllHipHop News) MC Hammer has labelled the Tupac biopic a “truthful portrayal” of his late friend.

The musician is the latest star to voice his opinion about movie “All Eyez On Me,” which focuses on the life of Tupac Shakur until his death in 1996, and stars Demetrius Shipp, Jr. and Kat Graham as Tupac and Jada Pinkett Smith respectively.

The project hit headlines earlier this week, when Jada slammed it for being a false portrayal of her relationship with the late rapper, but Hammer, real name Stanley Burrell, thinks it’s an accurate depiction of his former pal.

Writing on Twitter, Hammer told fans: “Everything seen, said and done ain’t meant to be in a movie. #AllEyezOnMe is an EXCELLENT TRUTHFUL portrayal of my LOVED one. I Salute it.”

He then responded to a fan questioning several facts in the film, replying: “It’s a Truthful portrayal of who #Tupac the MAN was and is.”

Hammer later added to the fan: “After you see the movie you will understand my response to your question. It’s a great movie. It’s not a documentary. Salute.”

His remarks come after Jada posted a series of tweets on Friday attacking the filmmakers behind the biopic, including one in which she admitted the “reimagining of my relationship to Pac” has been “deeply hurtful”.

However, the movie’s producer L.T. Hutton told TMZ.com that he had never intended to precisely recreate Jada and Tupac’s relationship, but wanted to depict it in the way he thought the rapper would have wanted.

He added to the outlet that he’s “hurt and disappointed” Jada decided to blast the project so publicly, adding that he studied the actress’ own words about the late star in interviews to ensure the film was “very responsible” towards her and everyone else’s images.

He also insisted that the last he’d heard, she was happy with the movie, adding he had “no intention” of hurting her.

Fans Flock To Tupac Flick “All Eyez On Me” Despite Criticism

(AllHipHop News) Actress Jada Pinkett Smith has attacked the filmmakers behind new Tupac Shakur biopic “All Eyez on Me” for the way they have depicted her relationship with the late rapper.

The film, starring Demetrius Shipp, Jr. and Kat Graham as Tupac and Jada, was released on Friday (June 16) – what would have been the rapper’s 46th birthday – and though the critics are raving, “The Matrix Reloaded” star is far from impressed.

In a series of tweets sent out on Friday, she wrote: “Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth.”

Jada then detailed the inaccuracies in the movie, stating: “Pac never read me that poem. I didn’t know that poem existed until it was printed in his book… Pac never said goodbye to me before leaving for LA. He had to leave abruptly and it wasn’t to pursue his career.”

“I’ve never been to any of Pac’s shows by his request,” she added. “We never had an argument backstage.”

And Jada admits the “reimagining of my relationship to Pac” has been “deeply hurtful.”

However, the actress, who became one of Shakur’s closest friends when they attended Baltimore’s School of Arts in Maryland together, insists she still thinks the stars of the new biopic deserve credit for their performances, adding: “Thank you for bringing so much heart and spirit to your roles. You both did a beautiful job with what you were given. Thank you both.”

Jada ended her social media rant by wishing her late friend a happy birthday, adding, “you are cradled in my heart for eternity. I love you.”

In an interview with TMZ.com, “All Eyez On Me” producer LT Hutton responded to Jada’s comments and said he was very disappointed, since she was “all good” with the film prior to its release.

Either way, fans seem to be taking to the movie.

According to early estimates, “All Eyez On Me” will come take in over $33 million and will land at #3, behind “Wonder Woman” and “Cars,” which is expected to top the box office on Monday, with earnings of around $51 million.
