Did One Of Young Dolph’s Shooters Just Snitch On Himself?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Wait a minute!

See folks are always talking way too much on social media. While the details about the Young Dolph shooting that took place in Charlotte, N.C. are still all over the place, it looks like someone is snitching on themselves.

Some guy took to Instagram and said this rap beef sh-t needs to end. It sounded like a good point until he began to speak on the Young Dolph and Yo Gotti situation.

“I’m tired of hearing this sh-t with Young Dolph, Yo Gotti. I told a n-gga before all of this stuff happened, that my homie Gotti was going to put the pressure down; the pressure already been applied. All that talking you doing Dolph it’s war time. N-gga don’t want to hear about no bullet proof and all that. You steady talking about how a n-gga miss with 100 shots. N-gga your f-cking car was bullet proof mane…Your f-cking car was bullet proof mane; n-ggas sent shots through that b-tch mane. N-gga I ain’t miss…. N-ggas better pay attention to what the f-ck is going on,” said the guy.

I’m just going to tell myself that he didn’t really say he didn’t miss, and he really said “n-ggas didn’t miss”. Yep that’s what I’m going to go with because if he said that he didn’t miss… Lawd.

Either way, he’s definitely earned him a ride to the police department for questioning, and most believe he was “snitching” all through the video. What are your thoughts on the video, and what are your thoughts on the “no snitching” mindset overall?

It’s all senseless if you ask me. Carry on.

Vic Mensa Talks Being Inspired By Black Skateboarders Pharrell Williams & Lupe Fiasco (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Last week, Roc Nation rhymer Vic Mensa released his 4-track “capsule” The Manuscript.

Mensa recently sat down with Genius to talk about “OMG” off the project.

The song features G.O.O.D. Music’s Pusha T and was produced by Pharrell Williams.

During the lyrical breakdown, Mensa discussed how Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco were inspirations to him outside of music.

“I was a skateboarder as a kid before I was ever into Hip Hop,” said Mensa. “Pharrell really opened up the doors for me to feel like that was cool because on the Southside of Chicago there’s not a lot of skateboarders.”

The 24-year-old added, “Before people saw Pharrell skating and people saw Lupe skating, you didn’t have Hip Hop, black examples of skateboarders. Fast forward however many years and now I’m jumping out of the Bentley with the dirty Vans.”

Pharrell picked up the nickname “Skateboard P” because he embraced skating culture as a teenager.

The Neptune member’s 2003 video for “Frontin'” included skaters as extras.

As far as Lupe, one of his earliest hits was “Kick, Push” from 2006’s Food & Liquor album.

The single told the story of two skateboarders falling in love.

He continued, “I’m just FaceTiming [my friends] like, ‘Hey bro, look what your song do. I told you this a banger.’ My music too.”

Jxmmi and his brother Swae Lee are responsible for releasing the Top 40 hits “No Flex Zone,” “No Type,” “Throw Sum Mo,” “Swang,” and “Black Beatles.”

Drake Gets Another Tattoo For Sade

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Drake has dedicated a second tattoo to his favorite singer Sade.

The “Hotline Bling” hitmaker has had a new image of Sade inked into his rib cage, right next to his first tattoo of the soul icon.

A photo of the portrait, initially created by artist Niki Norberg, was shared via Instagram by Belgian tattoo artist Inal Bersekov.

“More life — More tattoos,” Bersekov captioned the snap of the new ink, giving a shout out to the hip-hop star’s More Life album. “Was honored to continue this piece based on @sade started by an amazing artist @niki23gtr (Norberg) on @champagnepapi (Drake) Excited to continue.”

Back in March, Drake took to Instagram to post a photo of himself posing with Sade and his mother backstage at one of his concerts in London.

“Two very important ladies in my life,” the Grammy winner captioned the picture.

Days later, Norberg uploaded an image of the 30-year-old’s first tattoo of the No Ordinary Love vocalist, along with the handwritten words, “with love Sade x.”

Drake has an array of tattoos that include portraits of the late R&B star Aaliyah, his mother, uncle, and grandmother.

Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner Express Their Love With Matching Butterfly Tattoos

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Travis Scott will always have a lasting reminder of his romance with Kylie Jenner after going under the needle to get matching tattoos.

The young couple has been linked since April, following Kylie’s split from fellow hip-hop star Tyga, and it appears the relationship is going from strength to strength.

Both Travis and Kim Kardashian’s youngest sister each took to their Snapchat accounts on Monday to show off a new piece of skin art, a tiny butterfly design.

Kylie, 19, displayed hers near her ankle on the back of her right leg, while Travis, 25, gave followers a glimpse of his ink in the same place on his left leg.

Both social media posts were captionless, but the artwork appears to be related to Travis’ recent single “Butterfly Effect.”

Fans have been speculating the love song was written about the teenage reality TV star, as the musician previously captioned an Instagram photo of Kylie leaving a private jet, “Butterfly Effect.”

The song was released last month and on the track, the MC raps, “Heatin’ up, baby, I’m just heatin’ up/Need ya love, not a need, it is a must/Feelin’ stuck, you know how to keep me up/Icy love, icy like a hockey puck.”

Travis has yet to confirm if he actually wrote the tune about Kylie.

The pair has not discussed its budding romance publicly, but the stars have not been shy about showing their affection for one another during their date nights.

They reportedly kissed and held hands while attending April’s Coachella music festival in California, where Travis was performing, and cosied up courtside in Travis’ native Houston, Texas weeks later, when they attended an NBA playoff game in the Western Conference Quarterfinals.

Azealia Banks Facing Lawsuit Over $137,000 Credit Debt

(AllHipHop News) Azealia Banks appears to be having some financial difficulties at the moment.

Page Six reports Banks is being sued by California’s City National Bank over a $137,000 debt.

The Broke with Expensive Taste rapper signed up for a Crystal Visa Infinite Credit Card in 2012.

She then fell behind on payments last December, leaving the current balance on the card at $79,000.

Banks is said to owe $8,000 on a second City National credit card issued in 2015 and an additional $50,000 for a personal line of credit from 2016.

The Harlem native first broke out with her 2011 YouTube hit “212.”

AB went on to release several bodies of work such as 1991 and Slay-Z.

However, Banks’ music career has constantly been overshadowed by her feuding with other celebritiesgetting in trouble with the law, promoting animal sacrifice, and getting suspended from social media platforms.

John Singleton Reportedly Wanted 2Pac To Get Raped In His Version Of The Rapper’s Biopic (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) John Singleton was once attached as the director of a movie about Tupac Shakur’s life.

The Poetic Justice creator was eventually removed from the director’s chair, and Benny Boom was tapped to take over the Pac project which is being released this week.

Even though he admitted he had not seen the Boom-directed biopic, Singleton made it clear to The Breakfast Club in March he was not supporting All Eyez On Me.

Boom and All Eyez producer L.T. Hutton stopped by The Breakfast Club for their own interview with the Power 105.1 morning show.

The filmmakers responded to Singleton’s earlier statements.

“We parted ways over creative differences and if I was to put those differences out there, the world would understand,” said Hutton. “To make it about you, that was the problem. This is not about you. It’s not my story. It’s Tupac’s story. It’s not about Benny Boom. It wasn’t about him. It is about Tupac.”

According to Hutton and Boom, Pac was not on good terms with Singleton at the time of the Hip Hop icon’s death in 1996.

The radio show conversation also included Hutton revealing Singleton’s version of the biopic was going to feature Pac being raped in jail.

“There were a multitude of things that he wanted to do that just weren’t flattering to Tupac himself. It was almost like, ‘What are you doing?'” Hutton stated. “You knew what was going on, and now you want to defame the guy. Not on my watch.”

Apparently, Singleton also wanted the movie to start with a false moment where Tupac attempts to perform a### sex on a white woman in the studio, she denies him, and then the scene ends with Pac telling the woman, “Go home and tell your dad you got f-cked by a n-gga today.”

Hutton claims Singleton wanted the movie to have an excessive amount of sex scenes, and the white financial backers of the film did not approve of the content.

Tupac’s mother Afeni Shakur was supposedly depicted in a threesome as well.

“Some people in Hollywood, we think they’re black, but they’re not black,” offered Hutton. “They like to be the only black person in the room because that makes them an authoritarian figure. They don’t like to be challenged.”

Benny Boom’s All Eyez on Me is scheduled for release on June 16.

The movie stars Demetrius Shipp Jr. (Tupac Shakur), Danai Gurira (Afeni Shakur), Kat Graham (Jada Pinkett), Jamal Woolard (The Notorious B.I.G), Dominic L. Santana (Suge Knight), Annie Ilonzeh (Kidada Jones), and Jamie Hector (Mutulu Shakur).

Tinashe Responds To Backlash Over Colorism Comments

(AllHipHop News) Tinashe found herself in the middle of a firestorm yesterday.

Her name became a trending topic on Twitter after an interview with The Guardian featuring the “2 On” singer was published.

“There’s colorism involved in the black community, which is very apparent,” Tinashe is quoted saying. “It’s about trying to find a balance where I’m a mixed woman, and sometimes I feel like I don’t fully fit into the black community; they don’t fully accept me, even though I see myself as a black woman. That disconnect is confusing sometimes… I am what I am.

Those comments led to a significant backlash by social media users.

In an attempt to push back against the negative reactions, Tinashe began responding to people on Twitter about the subject.

“I was not talking about colorism in the industry. This is taken out of context,” tweeted the 24-year-old artist.

When questioned if she believes colorism is preventing her from being successful as an entertainer, Tinashe replied, “The article framed it as such, about success in music, whereas the conversation we had was about my experiences growing up in general.”

The Guardian feature also included the R&B vocalist addressing being put up against veteran superstars Beyoncé and Rihanna.

“There are hundreds of [male] rappers that all look the same, that sound the same, but if you’re a black woman, you’re either Beyoncé or Rihanna. It’s very, very strange,” stated Tinashe.

She also called Bey, RiRi, and Ciara amazing artists.

(AllHipHop News) Freddie Gibbs made his return to the Viceland network last night.

After appearing on The Therapist in May, Gibbs was a guest on the late night show Desus & Mero.

The You Only Live 2wice album creator discussed participating in a therapy session, his arrest in Austria, retired NFL star Eric Dickerson, and issues with his former CTE boss Jeezy.

“It ain’t no beef.  It gotta be beef when it’s two real motherf-ckers in the equation, but it’s one motherf-cker that’s just like….,” said the Indiana native. “P-ssy ass n-gga. I’ll whoop your ass n-gga… F-ck Jeezy.”

Gibbs and Jeezy have been going back-and-forth in songs and in the media for years.

Snoop Dogg Charged His Son For His Appearance At Joyrich Clothing Debut

(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg’s son Cordell Broadus had to work hard to win his father’s backing for his new clothing line, Snoop x Joyrich.

Cordell debuted the line in Los Angeles over the weekend at the LA MADE event, where he was joined by his rap icon father, but the 20-year-old admits convincing Snoop to support his project took some time.

“My dad doesn’t treat me like his son when we’re doing business,” he explained backstage to The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s an actual client so I had to approach him as a client.”

Snoop not only signed off on his son’s line, which he collaborated on with Tim Hirota, creator of the Los Angeles streetwear brand Joyrich, but gave Cordell his blessing to use his name.

He also rapped and deejayed at the fashion show launch – but not for free.

“We also had to pay him, too,” Cordell laughed.

The line features men’s and women’s apparel, including tartan pyjama bottoms, fake fur bathrobes, athletic tops and shorts, bikinis and bandana tops.

“The inspiration is my father. He’s my biggest hero… It’s an early father’s day gift!,” Cordell shared, referring to the upcoming Father’s Day holiday.

“I admire he stayed true to himself,” he added.

Cordell now looks set for a career in fashion, after recently giving up playing American football for his current college, the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), to focus on his “true passion”.

“A lot of my friends are into more masculine things… When you’re playing football, you really can’t show that side,” he admitted. “We all have that side, being creative… I kept that to myself for a while.”

Beyonce’s Dad Says Speaking In Public Is Her Weakness

(AllHipHop News) Beyonce shies away from public speaking engagements because she is “not good at it,” according to her father Mathew Knowles.

The superstar, who is currently pregnant with twins, has been cutting back on her interactions with the press in recent years and is known for being extremely selective when it comes to granting interviews.

Her dad Mathew, who used to manage the “Formation” hitmaker’s career until they parted ways in 2011, reveals there’s a simple explanation for his eldest daughter’s decision – because speaking in public is her biggest weakness.

The music executive shared the news with students during a recent artist management lecture at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where he admitted Beyonce’s shortcoming is her younger sister Solange’s strength.

“Everybody thinks that they’re the greatest and they should,” he told the class as he discussed the importance of identifying an artist’s weakness. “We as label executives, we have to know the limitations of the artists.

“I can tell you all my artists, the limitations,” he continued. “See, I would never have Beyonce up here public speaking. She’s not good at it. Solange was just at Yale (University). She’s incredible at it. But I know all of my artists’ weaknesses. They all have weaknesses.”

The Yale appearance Mathew referred to took place in January, when Solange was invited to deliver the keynote speech at a conference called “Everybody Still Wants To Fly: Activism In Pop From Prince To Solange.”

During the Connecticut event, the singer also sat down for a round table discussion to share the creative journey she embarked upon as she put together her latest album, A Seat At The Table.

Chance The Rapper Listed As The Youngest Hip Hop Act Among Forbes Highest-Paid Celebrities For 2017

(AllHipHop News) It comes as no surprise when moguls such as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter, and Andre “Dr. Dre” Young are added to various Forbes lists.

Over the last few years, Aubrey Drake Graham’s name has become a regular among the top earning rap stars too.

All four entertainers were once again part of Forbes’ “The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrities” list for 2017, but a newcomer made his way into the top 100 as well.

According to the business publication, Chancelor “Chance The Rapper” Bennett brought in $33 million over the 12 month scoring period.

That total puts the Coloring Book creator at #95, and it makes him the youngest (24) Hip Hop artist to be listed.

Only three other celebrities younger than Chance made Forbes‘ Celebrity 100 – Kylie Jenner (19, #59, $41 million), Justin Bieber (23, #13, $83.5 million), and Jordan Spieth (23, #83, $34.5 million).

The Chicago native’s inclusion also stands out because he is an independent music artist that has yet to sell physical copies of his projects.

“I think the free part of it is more of an attention grabbing thing and something that people can use as a marker to track what I’m doing,” said CTR in an interview in 2016. “Since I was 15 or 16 passing out mixtapes outside of my high school, I always gave them away for free.”

Chance acquired some of his wealth through concert and festival appearances as well as deals with brands such as Apple and Kit Kat.

Earlier this year, he gave away $1 million to the Chicago Public Schools.

Are Future & Lil Yachty Megastars?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Things always seem to get pretty heated on Complex’s ‘Everyday Struggle’. Joe Budden recently debated Joey BadA$$ on who is an isn’t a megastar in Hip Hop right now, and things got interesting.

Within the debate, Joe Budden stated that Future and Lil Yachty were not megastars. He did give Drake and Kendrick Lamar credit for being megastars though.

“Future is dropping projects weeks within weeks,” argued Joey BadA$$.

“Future’s not a megastar. There are plenty of places in America and Future can go and and not a soul would recognize him. But Future can walk to any mall in Kansas and no one is going crazy over him,” said Joe Budden.

Joe Budden went on to say that Lil Yachty isn’t a megastar either.

“It’s a different generation bro. Like Playboi Carti has the whole youth in his hand bro. It’s a different climate. When we talk about the Lil Uzi’s and Lil Yachtys this year 2 from them and their f-cking stars. How can you say Yachty’s not a star? He has f-cking Target and Sprite commercials bro……..while Yachty may not be a star two years from now, he’s a f-cking megastar right now,” said Joey.

“I don’t think Yachty is a megastar. Yachty has good business; he’s not a star. You are not a megastar when you sell 40k records. I’m sorry,” said Joe Budden.

Joe feels that people can’t be megastars if they don’t have big reach.

While Future has had amazing success, maybe he’s still not a megastar. There are successful artists that aren’t megastars. Does Future’s successful run and co-headlined tour with Drake make him a megastar? Most feel it’s easy to rule Yachty out because of the numbers and him failing to make “quality” music.

For someone to be a megastar does it require for them to have huge sales and great music, or is it just about numbers?

Oh yeah, Lil Yachty clapped back at Joe with the stats on Joe’s low sales. Of course you know Joe doesn’t care because he never thought of himself as a megastar anyway.

Ice Cube’s Son To Star As Baseball Legend Who Threw A No-Hitter High

(AllHipHop News) Ice Cube’s actor son O’Shea Jackson is set to portray famed baseball pitcher Dock Ellis in a new biopic.

The late Pittsburgh Pirates player made history 47 years ago on Monday (June 12) when he threw a no-hitter, a game in which the opposing team is unable to record a single hit, against the San Diego Padres.

However, 10 years after the 1970 feat, Ellis stunned fans and experts alike when he claimed he had been high on psychedelic drug LSD at the time of the achievement.

Now Jackson, 26, is set to bring Ellis’ story to the big screen in a new film produced by his rapper/actor dad via his Cube Vision firm, reports Deadline.com.

Hacksaw Ridge’s David Permut and Jeff Kwatinetz are also attached as producers.

A director has yet to be announced, but the script was penned by Joey Poach.

“Joey Poach’s script is one of the most heartfelt, honest and emotional pieces of material I’ve read in years, and I think the complexities of the character are a perfect fit for O’Shea,” Permut declares in a statement.

Ellis, who confessed he had never pitched a game sober, subsequently sought professional treatment for his addiction issues, and later became a counselor for other professional athletes.

He died from a liver problem in 2008, aged 63.

The baseball biopic will mark the second movie project Ice Cube and his son will have worked on together as Jackson played a younger version of the hip-hop icon in another real-life story, 2015’s Straight Outta Compton., which chronicled the musician’s rise to fame in his band N.W.A.

Ice Cube, real name O’Shea Jackson, Sr., also served as a producer on that film.

Did Cardi B Betray Nicki Minaj?

(AllHipHop Rumors) Remy Ma certainly turned Hot 97’s Summer Jam into a lituation when she celebrated female emcees when she brought out The Lady of Rage, MC Lyte, Young M.A., Monie Love, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, and Cardi B.

While this was certainly a moment of unity for females in Hip Hop, Nicki Minaj’s fans felt that the moment was an ultimate sign of betrayal from Cardi B.

Nicki’s loyal and crazy fan base feel that if Cardi truly rocks with Nicki, she shouldn’t have agreed to perform on Summer Jam with Remy.

To be honest, Nicki and Remy shouldn’t even be beefing. We all love the competitiveness of Hip Hop, but they could’ve buried the hatchet, and it would’ve been legendary for Remy, Kim, and Nicki to all rock the stage together.

Regardless if Remy and Nicki ever squash their beef, Cardi would’ve been a fool to pass up that opportunity.

Cardi responded by saying,

“It’s not joining forces wit the enemy is empowering each other .I love who love me & support me.”

“Exactly idgaf about no beef sh-t I’m not beefing with nobody I’m not going to miss opportunities cause of sh-t that got nothin to do wit me.”
