50 Cent Picks On Baby Mama Over Child Support Ending

Photo via 50 Cent’s Instagram

50 Cent may have revealed why the mother of his old son hates him so much, or he may have just taken this opportunity to taunt her even more. 50 recently commented on his oldest son Marquise’s Instagram page wishing him the best out in the world as a grown man. 50’s baby mama Shaniqua wasn’t feeling it, and she accused him of being a miserable woman beater. She even took a shot at 50’s youngest son by suggesting that his motor skills may not be up-to-date.

“Your downfall is already here @50cent. Miserable, unstable, bum a** n*gga. You’re so miserable! Go pick on them boys who put that hot led up in your a**! Oh! I forgot you like to pick on women and children. Them boys in Brooklyn did you dirty! Go beat up your other baby mother, oh you did that already and you’re on 3 years probation. Go make sure son’s motor skills are correct. Can he talk? Get out of here,” said Shaniqua

50 finally responded to his baby mama by saying,

“So that’s the crazy b*tch you said, said I can’t talk. Yes Sire, I told you I don’t want you responding to nonsense. Oh I’ll never say anything to her, ummmm ain’t her child support over. YES (LMAO).”

It looks like the relationship went bad between all parties and the child support checks ending didn’t make it any better.

(AllHipHop News) Numerous music stars lent their talents to the #JusticeForFlint fundraiser on Sunday. Stevie Wonder, Royce Da 5’9″, Musiq Soulchild, Vic Mensa, Ledisi, Jon Connor, and Janelle Monáe were among the performers at the Blackout for Human Rights sponsored event. The showcase was able to raise over $145,000 for the victims of the Flint Water Crisis.

Other celebrities such as Selma director Ava DuVernay, Limitless actor Hill Harper, and Grey’s Anatomy actor Jesse Williams were also in attendance to call on concerned people to help the citizens of Flint, Michigan. #JusticeForFlint was streamed live via Revolt. Viewers were able to donate money by texting the word “Justice” to 83224 (donations are still being accepted).

Blackout for Human Rights was founded by filmmaker Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed). Members include Michael B. Jordan, Charles King, Ava DuVernay, Jesse Williams, Nate Parker, John Burris, Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rosa Clemente, Scott Budnick, David Oyelowo, Michael McBride, and others.

The organization’s website features the following message:

Blackout for Human Rights (Blackout) is a network of concerned artists, activists, filmmakers, musicians and citizens who committed their energy and resources to immediately address the staggering level of human rights violations against fellow Americans throughout the United States. We have witnessed enough. An affront to any citizen’s human rights threatens the liberty of all. So, we participate in one of the most time honored American traditions: dissent. We demand an immediate end to the brutal treatment and inhumane killings of our loved ones; the lives of our friends, our parents and our children have value and should be treated with respect. Our right to life is secured not only by our humanity, but is protected by law both federally and internationally by the Constitution of the United States of America and the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

2016 Oscars Hit Lowest Viewer Totals In 8 Years

(AllHipHop News) Did Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith get the last laugh? For choosing not to attend the ceremony over the lack of diversity in the acting categories, the famous couple became the butt of a few jokes during Sunday night’s 88th annual Academy Awards. It appears the Smiths were not the only ones tuning out on the Oscars.

According to Deadline, the event pulled in 34.3 million total viewers which is an 8-year low for the Oscars and the third lowest viewership ever. The disappointing tally comes after weeks of media hype surrounding Chris Rock serving as host and talk of Leonardo DiCaprio finally winning his first Oscar for The Revenant.

Some news outlets are not crediting the #OscarsSoWhite boycott as a factor in the low numbers, instead pointing to the fact few blockbusters were up for Best Picture this year. However, National Action Network founder Al Sharpton directly connected the boycott to the decline in ratings for this year’s Academy Awards.

“The early reports of a decline in the Oscar viewership is heartening to those of us that campaigned around asking citizens to tune out,” said Sharpton in a statement. “This is a significant decline and should send a message to the Academy and to movie studio heads. Though clearly we don’t take full credit for the decline, certainly one would have to assume we were effective and part of the decline. And to those that mocked the idea of a tune out, it seems the joke was on them.”

The Best Picture category rarely contains blockbuster movies such as 2015 crowd pleasers Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Oscar nominees did include Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant, and The Martian which all made over $300 million at the international box office.

In 2014, American Sniper ($547 million) was the only major hit to earn a Best Picture nod. The last film to gross over $1 billion and get nominated for Best Picture was Toy Story 3 in 2011.

Jay Z’s Tidal Responds To $5 Million Lawsuit Over Royalties

(AllHipHop News) After having a fairly successful run over the last month with exclusive releases by Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kanye West, Tidal was once again hit with bad headlines. Yesh Music filed a $5 million lawsuit against the Shawn “Jay Z” Carter led streaming platform alleging John Emanuele, of the band The American Dollar, is owed royalty payments from Tidal.

The suit names Jay Z’s S. Carter Enterprises, “Black Panther Bidco,” and Aspiro (Tidal is a subsidiary of Project Panther Bidco, which is owned by Carter). Court documents filed by Yesh Music read in part, “Ironically, when Defendant CARTER purchased the TIDAL Music Service in 2015, it claimed it would be the first streaming service to pay the artists. Different owner, same game.”

Tidal responded to the lawsuit in a statement to Fader:

TIDAL is up to date on all royalties for the rights to the music stated in Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele’s claim and they are misinformed as to who, if anyone, owes royalty payments to them. As Yesh Music, LLC admits in their claim, TIDAL has the rights to the Master Recordings through its distributor Tunecore and have paid Tunecore in full for such exploitations. Their dispute appears to be over the mechanical licenses, which we are also up to date on payments via Harry Fox Agency our administrator of mechanical royalties.

The main compositions in question were release by The American Dollar and their entire catalogue streamed fewer than 13,000 times on TIDAL and its predecessor over the past year. We have now removed all music associated with Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele from the service. This is the first we have heard of this dispute and Yesh Music, LLC should be engaging Harry Fox Agency if they believe they are owed the royalties claimed. They especially should not be naming S Carter Enterprises, LLC, which has nothing to do with Tidal. This claim serves as nothing other than a perfect example of why America needs Tort reform.

TDE Plans To Release 6 Projects In 2016, The Label Signed Two Mystery Artists

(AllHipHop News) Top Dawg Entertainment has already started off 2016 with a bang. Kendrick Lamar picked up 5 Grammy trophies last month, but the rest of the year is looking to be huge for the West Coast label as well.

Company CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith revealed on Instagram that TDE is planning to release projects this year from Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. Even more surprisingly, it appears the label has signed two new unknown acts.

Tiffith already announced Schoolboy’s next album will arrive before the summer. Plus, the white board in the IG photo suggests Q, K. Dot, Soulo, and Rock could finally unite for a long-awaited Black Hippy album in 2017.

Back in 2013, Tiffith also promised to drop 6 TDE projects the following year. But the label only released Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron, Ab-Soul’s These Days…, Isaiah Rashad’s Cilvia Demo, and SZA’s Z in 2014. To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar and 90059 by Jay Rock both hit stores a year later.

Troy Ave Releases Joey Bada$$ Diss Track “Bad Ass” (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) It’s Brooklyn vs Brooklyn. Troy Ave has taken his issues with Joey Bada$$ to wax. Last July, the two rappers exchanges messages on Twitter about which NYC native was the top independent artist in Hip Hop. Now Troy has released a diss record aimed at Joey titled “Bad Ass.”

[ALSO READ: Troy Ave Calls Out Joey Bada$$ For Saying He’s “The #1 Independent Hip Hop Artist”]

Apparently, Troy was sparked to fire lyrics at Joey because the Pro Era member mentioned him on the “Ready” record. Joey rapped, “My n*gga Kirk just out sold Troy Ave.”

Troy Ave faced tremendous bad press and social media ridicule after his Major Without A Deal album reportedly only sold around 7,000 copies in its first full week of release. In comparison, Joey’s B4.DA.$$ moved over 53,000 (57,000 SPS) copies in its first week [editor’s note: official sales numbers for Kirk Knight’s Late Knight Special could not be determined].

In response, Troy spits, “You sold a couple records, but nobody cares. You’re never on the radio, because nobody cares. You don’t matter, so you’re mad bruh. Nobody cares. Just an internet rapper. Nobody cares.”

New Documents Show 50 Cent Isn’t Broke

50 Cent’s financial situation seems to be all over the place lately.  However, documents surfaced today by the Daily Mail, that 50 cent’s assets and finances are much higher than he claimed.

When filing for bankruptcy a while back, the Queens native claimed assets ranging from $16-$50 million.  In these new documents, appraisers say 50 cent actually has more than $64 million in property and assets, which is a big difference from the $16 million he was claiming.  The G-Unit rapper does have liabilities totally more than $36 million though and also has $10 million in checking and stock. His G-Unit company as well as other business ventures are reportedly worth more than $44 million.

According to the appraisal, 50 Cent’s monthly income is about $184,000. He also makes a reported $29,000 every month off music royalties. Now add up all the cars, jewelry and other material assets and 50 probably has well over the bankruptcy amount.

50’s bankruptcy case had challenges of its own after he posted photos of himself with stacks of money.  He also posted a photo spelling out the word “broke” with stacks of $100 bills.

So 50 needs to decide whether he wants to stick with the bankruptcy role or the flossin role, because clearly he can’t be both.

Fight The Power: Chuck D On 2016 Oscars, Issues Challenge To Hip-Hop

(AllHipHop News) According to Lord Acton, “absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Several prominent celebrities have taken issue with the lack of ethnic diversity that was nominated at this year’s Oscar awards. Hosted by the astute, Chirs Rock, the comedian’s opening monologue included the powerful lyricism of Public Enemy’s classic track, “Fight The Power.”

Chuck D’s cathartic pen wrote most of the classic track’s lyrics. While using his official Twitter, the social advocate appealed to the masses to champion the arts as much as athletics. Emphatic in in eloquence, the PE front man challenged people to reinforce their words with resounding action.
