Chinese scientist have developed a new mutant strain of COVID-19 that displays a high rate of fatalities—but the public shouldn’t be concerned.
Multiple reports have confirmed that Chinese scientists have been experimenting with a mutant COVID strain that reportedly has a 100 percent mortality rate in mice. The strain reportedly attacks the brains of mice who were “engineered” to reflect a similar genetic makeup to humans. The research shows the mice lost weight, became sluggish after contracting the virus and would display symptoms such as a hunched posture and white eyes the day before they died. The subjects survived just eight days after being infected.
Despite the aforementioned, scientists believe humans shouldn’t be alarmed about another lab leak, especially if the experiments are well done. Fingers crossed these were well done.
Sofia Vergara and Netflix are being sued over her role as Columbian drug queen in the upcoming series Griselda.
The actress stars as the late Griselda Blanco in the series—and Blanco’s children aren’t happy about it.
They are trying to get a judge to grant an injunction to prevent the release of the six-part series, which is due to premiere on January 25.
Vergara, 51, who’s also an executive producer on the show, is reportedly almost unrecognizable in the role.
Blanco, who was nicknamed the Cocaine Queen, ran her drug operation from Miami for around 30 years between the 1970s and early 2000s and was widely feared for her violent approach to business.
She ran her drug cartel from behind bars for much of this time, after being sentenced to 15 years in 1985. She was released from prison in 2004 and assassinated in a drive-by motorcycle shooting in Colombia in 2012 when she was 69.
Blanco’s son Michael Corleone claims he did several interviews with writers who wanted to develop Blanco’s story into a book or film.
He alleges the Netflix series uses lots of these anecdotes, but he was never paid for them.
He and his siblings are suing Netflix claiming they ripped off his family’s story without permission and that their images and likenesses were used in the series without their permission.
T-Pain has been behind the scenes on the development ofGrand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) this entire time and wasn’t even going to tell us had it not been for a random fan in his recent live stream
During the stream, the Nappy Boy Gaming CEO was asked about his absence from popular GTA 5 role playing (RP) servers by a member in his chat. In case you were wondering, RP servers are alternative online communities artists such as Sada Baby and Tee Grizzley have created within the game. Now that you’re up to speed, turns out T-Pain was actually running the RP servers with his GTA Online woes—that is until the folks at Rockstar found out.
”I need to be on No Pixel RP, I used to be and then, how about this s###,” T-Pain said in part. “I used to be on No Pixel and then I f###ing started working on GTA 6 and they told me I couldn’t do RP anymore because it kind of goes against s###t.”
As if Rockstar banning him from RP wasn’t enough, T-Pain went on to reveal an even more mind blowing revelation during the stream. “They had this whole speech like, ‘What if somebody took your album and re-recorded it and more people were listening to that,’ and I was like, ‘OK kind of I get that, but I was having a good time. But that’s alright and then I started working on the game with them and then they kind of teamed up with with the people making it.”
It’s a bit of a bombshell to hear that Rockstar developers teamed up with RP server moderators on GTA 6, partially because they’ve been used as a crutch for the long awaited rollout of the game. However, it’s even more of a cliff hanger to think we’ll all have to wait until 2025 to see at what capacity T-Pain has been working in on the actual gameplay.
Yo Gotti made his first public appearance since the murder of his older brother, Anthony “Big Jook” Mims, on Friday night (January 19). A video of the CMG boss performing at a 42 Dugg concert in Detroit started the making the rounds just hours later. In the clip, Yo Gotti is wearing a bulletproof vest under his shirt as he performs—just in case.
It’s unsurprising Yo Gotti is taking safety precautions. Mims was shot and killed on January 13 at Perignons Restaurant and Event Center in Memphis, shortly after leaving a relative’s funeral. Two men were injured during the shooting. One man—later identified as Mims—was rushed to a hospital, where he died. The other man arrived at St. Francis Hospital by private vehicle and was listed in critical condition. Police believe they were both targeted.
It didn’t take long for Twitter to connect the shooting to Young Dolph, who was fatally shot in Memphis more than two years ago. Yo Gotti and Young Dolph were beefing at the time of his death, and many are assuming Mims was killed in retaliation. Yo Gotti has yet to comment on the matter publicly. Police have obtained surveillance footage of the shooting but have not been able to identify the suspect.
CMG signee GloRilla was the first of the CMG camp to acknowledge Mims’ murder. Not long after the news broke, she shared a photo of herself with Mims and Gotti at the Grammys. She wrote in the caption, “Get your rest” followed by a tear, heartbreak and dove emoji.
Parliament-Funkadelic legend George Clinton received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday (January 19), a long time coming for the 82-year-old. Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis, civil rights attorney Ben Crump and longtime Motown songwriter Janie Bradford joined Clinton in speaking at the ceremony in front of the Musicians Institute, which Kiedis nicknamed “Hollywood and George.”
During his speech, Kiedis talked about his introduction to Parliament-Funkadelic in the mid-’70s and how a “seed was planted” to forge his own musical path. He continued, “George Clinton is a national treasure where we all got rich. It’s true.” He then touched on the some of records Clinton has produced for the Chili Peppers, including 1985’s Freaky Styley.
“We started writing,” he explained, “and George started teaching us, and for me personally, George became an instant friend, a teacher, a mentor, a father figure, a coconspirator, an instigator, and honestly a conductor of alien enterprises, truth be told.”
When it was time for Clinton to step up to the mic, he appeared simply grateful for the inclusion, telling the crowd, “This is an honor to receive this star alongside the many names and notables from the world of entertainment. This is something very special for me […] I found out there’ll be times when it seemed like everyone knew your name, and there were times when no one knew you. I learned to respect the balance. If I needed to hear my name spoken out loud, I would go to the airport and page myself.”
Clinton’s star is the 2,769th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the initial 1,558 stars.
“One thing I realized is that there is not a single name on this street that did it by themselves,” he added. “There are so many that I stand on that I can’t name them all. But for each and every one of you, I give thanks.”
Parliament-Funkadelic is one of the most sampled funk groups in Hip-Hop. In fact, Dr. Dre’s seminal solo album, The Chronic (1992), leaned heavily on the band’s music to usher in the G-Funk era. The chorus of “Let Me Ride” is comprised of a sample and an interpolation of the chorus of the 1976 Parliament song “Mothership Connection (Star Child),” which itself quotes the Negro spiritual “Swing Down Sweet Chariot.” Listen below.
Kid Cudi and Lupe Fiasco blew up the Twitter (X) timeline on Friday (January 19) following the former’s recent interview with Apple Music. After a contentious back-and-forth, Cudi has revealed they had a long talk on the phone and ironed out their differences. He shared the news Saturday afternoon (January 20) and took full responsibility for his part in the public discourse.
“Just talked to Lupe,” he began. “Had a great talk. I know I was wrong and told him I shouldnt have did that f### s### I did. I called myself lookin out for the fans in the moment, but in reality I was just hating. I apologized and he accepted it. Which I appreciated foreal. I understand the anger and vitriol he had for me all these years, and I wasn’t mature enough to step up and just have a conversation and admit I was wrong.
“We as black men need to be united. He always had love for me. Always supported me. I shouldn’t had did him like that. I wanna thank my guy IBN for settin’ the call up, and u, the fans, for being real w me and urging us to speak. We are good now, brand new journey. @LupeFiasco see u soon brother.”

Lupe Fiasco was apparently annoyed after catching wind of Kid Cudi’s comments about him during his conversation with Apple Music. He tweeted, “Kid Cudi is a b####. And continues to be a b####. Ain’t nobody finna bring up he used to work at the Bape Store to diss his b#### ass for having a regular job before he was a famous b#### with a cool job.
“I honestly caught wind of [the interview] scrolling through fan comments. Kid Cudi soon extended to an olive branch to Fiasco, which he initially didn’t accept.
“Hey brother, please refrain from callin me out my name,” he wrote. “I come w love. Here’s the dm I sent, u cant receive messages. Just noticed. I have no reason to cap. Now if u wanna keep the same negative energy we cant speak. I have no room in my life for that. Im tryna move past this.”
Elsewhere, he tweeted, “Love u g. Im sorry if I hurt u man. Life is too short. Hope u can find it in ur heart to get past this. Lupe love me yall don’t get it twisted. He just hurt. He beefin w himself at this point. Holdin that much hate in ur heart for someone for so long holds u back in life bro. That’s the devil using u. Hope he finds some peace man. Now its just sad.”

Pharrell Williams has given some thoughtful advice to Shedeur and Shilo Sanders amid the frenzy surrounding his debut Louis Vuitton menswear runway show.
On Tuesday (January 16), Williams presented his inaugural menswear line in Paris with a dazzling 100-plus piece collection featuring guest appearances from artists such as A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, Beyoncé and Pusha T, who sat front row at the show. Prior to the show, Williams spoke with Shedeur and Shilo, who walked the runway during the presentation. In addition to accepting an invite to a game next season and thanking them for their participation in the star-studded event, Williams encouraged the Deion Sander’s sons’ to continue chasing their dreams.
”Honored to have you guys here, to me this s###t is like symbolic that you’re doing this. Just with one of y’all life dream, like the fact that you can even make that s###t happen—and then you’re at like the top of your game and that’s amazing that you’re doing what you’re doing.” Williams said in part.
Williams continued, offering his advice to Shedeur on realizing the potential he and his siblings already have as they continue to attain greatness.
“You already are, it’s just that society makes you think that you are not & you aspire to be other things but you guys do so many things already. So you don’t want to be! If I were you I would change that language. I AM MULTI DIMENSIONAL. You know what I’m saying? Let them know, you’re already that!,” he said.
Additional stars who made appearances at the show include Tyler, The Creator, Lewis Hamilton, Kim Kardashian and many more. JAY-Z and Williams also performed their 2003 hit “Frontin’” together after the show.
Ice Spice is reportedly being sued for alleged copyright infringement over her 2023 song “In Ha Mood.”
Rapper/songwriter Duval ‘D.Chamberz’ Chamberlain and sound engineer/producer Kenley ‘Kass the Producer’ Carmenate have filed a lawsuit against Ice Spice in the Eastern District of New York. In the filing, obtained by Rolling Stone, they claim Ice Spice and her producer Riot copied the name, beat, lyrics, hook and rhythmic structure of their 2022 song, “In That Mood,” without asking for permission or giving them credit.
“The similarities between ‘In Ha Mood’ and ‘In That Mood,’ including the key phrase used in the chorus and repeated in a substantially similar manner numerous times throughout both songs, are such that it is simply not reasonable to believe that ‘In Ha Mood’ could have been created without having heard ‘In That Mood’ first,” the filing reads. “(The songs) are so strikingly similar that they cannot be purely coincidental.”
Chamberlin and Carmenate claimed that Riot heard their song on the radio, and both Ice Spice and Riot saw them perform the track in New York.
“Upon information and belief, Ice Spice, Riot and/or members of their creative teams were present for certain public performances of ‘In That Mood’ during the relevant time period,” they allege.
Chamberlain and Carmenate are seeking damages and at least half of the song’s publishing. The 24-year-old rapper has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
Donald Trump is once again a trending Twitter topic after a photograph of his hands went viral. Earlier this week, Trump was waving to a crowd of people as he was leaving his Manhattan apartment. In the photo, his right hand is covered in a patchwork of red markings resembling blisters. People quickly hopped online to theorize what the markings could possibly mean—and the sexually transmitted disease syphilis was at the top of the list. It became so widespread, the hashtag “#SyphilisDon” is now making the rounds.
A Twitter (X) user who goes by Emily Porter, M.D. tweeted, “I’m no dermatologist, but I am a board certified emergency physician who sees a lot of weird rashes and that stuff on Trump’s hands—it ain’t eczema. Just sayin’.” Another wrote, “Seriously, what’s wrong with Trump’s palm and fingers? Herpes, shingles, syphilis … or something else? All I know is I’m glad I don’t have to shake hands with him!,” while another said, “So, let me get this straight…MAGATs are so far down the hole of depravity, hatred, bigotry, Nazism, and loserdom — they actually prefer a convicted rapist who has syphilis to rule over them as America’s first DICTATOR. Disgusting. Did I get that right?! #SyphilisDon.”
So, let me get this straight…👇
MAGATs are so far down the hole of depravity, hatred, bigotry, Nazism, and loserdom — they actually prefer a convicted rapist who has syphilis to rule over them as America’s first DICTATOR.
Of course, there is no medical proof Donald Trump actually has syphilis. But it didn’t stop people from going wild with conspiracy theories. As Democratic strategist James Carville said on the Politicon podcast, “They don’t look like cuts to me . . . I think there’s a good chance this man has the clap,” noting he consulted “a number” of doctors who all came to the consensus that Trump has “secondary syphilis.”
George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences Professor Jonathan Reiner theorized on Twitter that Trump could have injured himself, noting “it’s not uncommon for 77 yo people to fall,” while Joshua Zeichner, an associate professor of dermatology at Mount Sinai Hospital, told Business Insider Trump may simply have a rash that could be caused by a variety of factors, ranging from his golf club grip to dry hands.
Whatever the case, Twitter is having a field day with it. Check it out here.
Kid Cudi has explained why he buried the hatchet with Kanye West. The close friends and collaborators became embroiled in a public feud in 2022 when West cut Kid Cudi from his Donda 2 album due to his friendship with Pete Davidson, who was dating West’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, at the time. Kid Cudi declared he was “done” with West and it would take a “miracle” for them to ever be friends again.
During a new interview with Apple Music, the “Day ‘n’ Nite” rapper explained he patched things up with his Kids See Ghosts collaborator after receiving an apology.
“The reason why we became cool again is because he apologized to me and it was sincere,” he said. “I was just like, ‘Wow.’ Kanye does not apologize to anybody and say sorry to anyone. And that’s my brother, man. I know he loves me and there’s just nothing like Kanye and Cudi. We like the duo that everybody loves to see.”
Kid Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, explained that he eventually remembered everything West did for him at the start of his career, such as paying for the “Day ‘n’ Nite” music video.
“When it was going down, I wanted to walk away,” he added. “I wanted to give up, but in thinking about it the past couple years, it’s like this is someone who is my brother ultimately who came into my life and championed me and did things for me that nobody else did for me early on in my career.”
Kid Cudi decided he couldn’t “give up” on West, insisting he’s “a good man” despite his antisemitism controversy in late 2022.
“He knows he made some mistakes,” Cudi continued. “It’s like he knows he’s been on one hell of a ride and he knows he’s said some things that he might not be able to come back from in a lot of realms, in a lot of spaces from certain people. But we grow and I think I pray for him, and that’s my brother.”
Believe it or not, eBay is paying a $3 million fine in connection to a harassment lawsuit that essentially saw an elderly couple terrorized with mystery packages.
The fine will actually resolve criminal charges associated with a 2019 case in which former employees from the company planned and carried out a harassment campaign on a couple from Massachusetts who ran a newsletter that covered eBay’s e-commerce dealings. Apparently, items such as live insects, a bloody pig mask, funeral wreath and other disturbing deliveries were sent to their home in an effort to intimidate and retaliate at the couple.
The Justice Department ended up charging eBay with stalking, witness tampering and obstruction of justice, and seven of the employees and contractors were convicted of felony charges for their roles in the scheme. Streets is saying—just kidding—news outlets are reporting that eBay executives were in on the campaign from the start.

We have to talk about Kanye West‘s latest fashion move. It’s no secret that Ye loves to stir the pot, but his recent choice of wardrobe has me confused. We’re talking about that Burzum shirt he rocked in a recent picture with JPEGMAFIA. So Burzum is a death metal band with a backstory as heavy AF. Let us get into it.
First up, who’s Burzum? For those not in the loop, Burzum is a one-man death metal act founded by Varg Vikernes. This dude’s not just about metal riffs and dark lyrics; he’s infamous for some real life crap that I just can’t rock with. Vikernes, back in the ’90s, was convicted for burning down churches. And not just any churches—we’re talking about historical ones in Norway. To keep it real, he claimed it wasn’t Satanism driving him but “revenge” against Christian desecration of Viking sites. Do you believe that? By the way, he was also convicted of murder and arson and subsequently served 15 years in prison. Let us go a bit farther.
Kanye West, known for his unapologetic and often controversial statements, decides to wear a Burzum shirt in this JPEGMAFIA photoshoot. He’s been in the spotlight for his antisemitic comments and now, he’s about to apologize to the Jewish community. The irony? Vikernes is known not just for his arson spree but also for writing for neo-Nazi publications. In the early 2000s, the guy was regularly contributing to a magazine associated with the neo-pagan, neo-Nazi group Vigrid.
The plot thickens. Vikernes, who moved to France, got charged by French authorities for inciting racial hatred against Jews and Muslims. And here’s Kanye West donning a shirt representing this guy. Coincidence? Strategy? You tell me. I can’t call it.
Here’s the kicker—I never even heard of this Vikernes dude until today. But Kanye, being Kanye, knows exactly what he’s doing. He’s no stranger to controversy, and wearing a Burzum shirt is like throwing gasoline on a fire. It’s a statement, whether calculated or just Ye being Ye. This sure is different than “Jesus Walks” Kanye West.
So, what’s the deal with Kanye and this shirt? Is he trying to send a message, stir up the pot or just rocking a death metal shirt without the heavy backstory? As always, Kanye keeps us guessing. Mr. West knows how to keep people on their toes.
What do y’all think about Kanye’s fashion statement?
Keefe D found a private attorney to represent him in the Tupac Shakur murder case. According to KLAS and the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Keefe D replaced his public defenders by hiring a Nevada lawyer named Carl Arnold.
Clark County public defenders Robert Arroyo and Charles Cano were appointed to represent Keefe D in November 2023. The two lawyers handled the Tupac murder suspect’s request for bail.
Judge Carli Kierny set Keefe D’s bail at $750,000 on January 9. He remains in custody at the Clark County Detention Center.
Earlier this month, Arroyo and Cano said they believed Keefe D’s family would be able to raise the money to post the ex-gang leader’s bail. The public defenders did not know how long it would take their client to gather the funds.
If released, Keefe D will be placed on house arrest. His trial is scheduled to start in June.
Authorities arrested Keefe D, whose real name is Duane Davis, for Tupac’s 1996 murder in September 2023. Davis was charged with one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon with the intent to promote, further or assist a criminal gang.
Prosecutors identified Keefe D as the shot caller behind Tupac’s death. The prosecution said Keefe D incriminated himself in interviews and a tell-all book, admitting his role in the late rapper’s murder.
Keefe D’s public defenders claimed his past remarks were “entertainment.” He pleaded not guilty to murder. He faces life in prison if convicted.
Tupac was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996. He passed away on September 13, 1996.
Keefe D is the only suspect who is still alive. His nephew Orlando Anderson, who was considered the prime suspect in Tupac’s murder, died in 1998. Two more suspects, Terry Brown and Deandrae Smith, died in subsequent years.
Nick Cannon told PEOPLE he’s content with being the father of 12 children – for now. The entertainer said he had no intentions of welcoming a 13th baby to the bunch any time soon.
“I’m chilling right now,” he maintained. “There’s no plans on the horizon as of yet. It’s so funny, everybody’s always trying to get me to have more kids. It’s like, 12 ain’t enough?”
Cannon shares two kids with Mariah Carey, three with Brittany Bell, three with Abby De La Rosa, two with Alyssa Scott (including their late son Zen), one with LaNisha Cole and one with Bre Tiesi. Five of Cannon’s children were born in 2022.
“It’s love, man” Cannon told AllHipHop in 2023. “I just operate on the highest frequency I’m allowed to, man, and be moving on that 528 hertz at all times, man. I think the way it’s positioned, people are fascinated, but it’s my life. This is how I move. It’s all positive and love. The whole gang. My 12 constellations, they all rocking.
Cannon didn’t rule out the possibility of adding to his family in the coming years. He referred to 13 as a “lucky number” in his chat with PEOPLE.
The multihyphenate’s family arrangement baffled many observers, but Cannon appreciated his role as a father of 12. He cited one simple phrase as the most rewarding part of being a dad.
“Just hearing your kids say, ‘I love you, daddy,’” he said. “You know what I mean? The first time they say it, whether they’re 1 year old or 18 months, to hearing it from your kids that are on the brink of being teenagers, there’s nothing better than that.”
Cannon acknowledged the humor of his large, blended family in a new advertisement for Buffalo Wild Wings.
Lupe Fiasco went on a social media tirade in response to Kid Cudi discussing their beef in an Apple Music interview. Lupe unleashed a flurry of insults and mentioned his desire to fight Cudi on Friday (January 19).
“Kid Cudi is a b####,” Lupe wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “And continues to be a b####. Ain’t nobody finna bring up he used to work at the Bape Store to diss his b#### ass for having a regular job before he was a famous b#### with a cool job.”
He added, “I honestly caught wind of [the interview] scrolling through fan comments. And I’m like what the f### is this b#### talking about now with my name… He hid from me in the bape store back in day because he didn’t want me to use it against him when he got famous??? WHAT?!! Like a job shame? I wanna beat this n#### up so bad I’m getting a migraine…”
Lupe recalled his history with Cudi in a series of posts. The lyricist explained how his issues with Cudi developed.
“Aight…this all facts,” Lupe wrote. “Back in the day Cudi was going through a lot of s###. Industry s###, personal s###. I have a habit of reaching out to artists on the low to make sure they cool. I did that with Cudi. Just like words of encouragement and your peers got your back type s###. Fast forward…he mentions that in an interview. Everytime I see Cudi I ask if he good etc. plus I’m a fan of this n#### so I’m happy to see him rise. Time passes. The next time I see him is at a show in LA. It’s me, ASAP Rocky and a few other n#####. Again same energy. Show love.”
He continued, “Now follow this next part carefully. Fast forward I’m on Twitter offering my fans a personal verse for like $500. You pick the beat, the concept, I rap it, make the dope 1of1 art package for it. No copies just the one you own. People vibing with it. Boom… Cudi tweets me out of nowhere and asks ‘what you gonna do with the money from those verses?’ I’m taken aback and Im thinking he playing so I respond with “what you gonna do with the money from those $1500 Zannoti collabs?’ He had just did a collab them around the same time. Then it’s silence but I’m not really thinking about. Then after a few minutes I get a bunch of spam tweets talking about I’m a thief and a swindler. So I’m like WTF is this! I go to Cudi page and this b#### is on his feed talking about Lupe robbing his fans and he’d never do that.”
Lupe claimed he tried to mend fences with Cudi to no avail. Lupe accused Cudi of avoiding every attempt to settle their differences.
“So I’m like is this n#### serious?” Lupe wrote. “I’m like why would he do that? Me and cudi had the same security so I reach out to him and like give me cudi number, he like he changed it but he got his mgmt number. But nobody can seem to get Cudi on the phone. Even though they right next to him. Till this day this b#### won’t get on the phone and even when we at the same festivals they won’t allow me to go to his stage. He ducks calls, face to faces. All I wanted was an explanation at the least a my bad. Cuz I’ve never done anything to him except support. Now it’s f### him 4 life and keep my name out your mouth b####…”
Lupe told fans he was not jealous of Cudi or trying to be a bully. Lupe said he felt slighted and “doesn’t play about his name in the streets or the industry.”
SZA excited fans by previewing a remix of Flo Milli’s song “Never Lose Me” on social media. The Top Dawg Entertainment singer briefly shared lyrics she wrote for the track on X (formerly known as Twitter) before deleting the post.
“He speed inna jeep w his hand on my booty he touchin on me I get goofy from the burbs so I’m actin so bougie from the burbs but I suck it like suki,” she wrote.
Flo Mill confirmed a remix was in the works on Friday (January 19). The RCA Records rapper posted a screenshot of her texts with SZA on X and Instagram.
“Lmao I deleted but we getting somewhereeeeee,” SZA wrote to Flo Milli. “It sounds cute!”
Flo Milli responded, “Lmaooo ur a f###### genius. Pure mastery. The girls aren’t ready TRUST!!!”
The original “Never Lose Me” dropped in December 2023. Flo Milli also released alternated versions of the track featuring Bryson Tiller and Lil Yachty.
“Never Lose Me” was Flo Milli’s first song to crack the Billboard Hot 100 chart, debuting at No. 84. It reached No. 1 on Billboard’s TikTok Top 50 chart in January.
SZA teased her remix of Flo Milli’s “Never Lose Me” a few weeks after venting frustrations with people leaking her music. SZA called out leakers, threatening to pursue legal action against them.
“LEAKING MY MUSIC IS STEALING,” she wrote on X. “THIS IS MY JOB. THIS IS MY LIFE AND MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. YOU ARE A F###### THIEF AND I PROMISE TO PUT MAXIMUM ENERGY INTO HOLDING EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW. I AM TIRED.”
SZA previously complained about the leaks in a 2023 interview with Variety. She called leakers “selfish,” noting how they ruined her songs and sent her into “a weird space creatively.”
Between the fusion of stylistic textures and OTH€LLO’s infusion of scintillatingly evocative soul that spills right from the source, his debut album, Miss Mayotte, has firmly established him as a decadently distinctive voice in the modern hip-hop and Afro-fusion arena. The LP is a testament to his journey from the bustling streets of Montreal to the pulsating energy of the Bay Area, marking his evolution from a street performer to a hip-hop marvel.
Miss Mayotte begins with Her Soul Speaks, a track that masterfully fuses jazzy neo-pop with R&B. It sets the tone for an album that not only engages in a deep conversation with the soul but also offers a rich musical odyssey. Each of the eight tracks unfolds a new chapter in OTH€LLO’s narrative, challenging societal conventions and boldly asserting his personal growth.
The album showcases OTH€LLO’s skill in lyrical introspection, weaving stories with a voice as smooth as honey, set against mellow, resonant instrumental backdrops. The production quality is profound, creating an array of exhilarating sounds that are both comforting and invigorating.
Afterglow, the album’s second single, mixes provocative imagery with sweet melodies, all set to the rhythm of afro-fusion beats that reshape the soundscape. The album reaches a high point with its title track, Miss Mayotte, a potent anthem addressing misogynoir while celebrating the strength and grace of the often-unseen queen. OTH€LLO’s transition from scepticism to a belief in the true essence of love is tangible in every melody, positioning Miss Mayotte as a beacon of hope and resilience.
OTH€LLO’s music resonates with his Congolese roots, incorporating elements from gospel and secular soukous music. His musical journey, from performing in musicals in a conservative Edmonton high school to refining his art in Toronto’s streets and church choirs, has endowed his music with a uniquely authentic flavour.
With his debut single SZA 4 NGAZ amassing over 84,000 streams on Spotify, and accolades from The Source and This is 50, OTH€LLO is more than an artist to watch – he’s an artist to be experienced. Released on November 24th, Miss Mayotte is a celebration of music’s ability to transform, inspire, and transcend.
Rick Ross believes the next step in his evolution as a boss is to join the wave of high-profile individuals building doomsday bunkers. Rozay recently shared an Instagram Story detailing a conversation he had with an acquaintance of his regarding their next big moves. Based on his statement in the video, Ross is apparently already well underway in the planning stages of building his own doomsday bunker.
”I’m having a boss conversation with one of my homies and he said, ‘what’s one of the bossest moves you pulling off,’ and I said, matter of fact I haven’t said this yet, but I wan’t to give a salute to Catapillar,” he said. ” We breaking ground—I’m excavating. It’s going down. Y’all know how I love real estate and I usually like to build and go up—we going underground now.”
As Rozay continued, he appeared to challenge Tesla automaker Elon Musk to a battle of the bunkers, adding, “One time for all of my doomsday prepper. Elon Musk I see you, I saw your ground plans. I’m impressed but guess what? My bunker going to have a garage. My bunker going have wings. HUH!? Yeah we breaking ground. Huge excavations.”
As if a garage and wings weren’t enough, Rozay concluded the clip by further flossing the amenities he’s planning to offer in his bunker. “You gotta have your fluids—I got a water maker. Something that can make a—a machine that can make water outta H20. I got a water maker, we got our canned goods. So if you thinking the brothas ain’t ready, we ready!” he said.

Lil Nas X (born Montero Lamar Hill) will let viewers get a glimpse into his life with a new documentary. Long Live Montero premieres on HBO and the Max streaming service on January 27 at 8 pm ET/PT.
An official trailer for Long Live Montero arrived on Thursday (January 18). The two-minute teaser features Lil Nas X discussing some of the public perceptions about him.
“Some people think my music is dope. Some people see me as this like satanic devil,” the openly gay artist pondered in the video. He also said, ” When I was a kid, my sexuality was just like the elephant in the room.”
Lil Nas X came out as gay in June 2019 after his 2018 single “Old Town Road” became a chart-topping hit in America. “Old Town Road” remained at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking 19 weeks in 2019.
Since revealing being part of the LGBTQ community, Lil Nas X has faced ridicule and condemnation. For example, Boosie Badazz became one of the Georgia native’s most outspoken critics. The Baton Rouge-raised rapper called Lil Nas a “f#####” and suggested the Grammy winner should take his own life.
Boosie also joined other celebrities in denouncing Lil Nas X’s rollout for his new “J Christ” song. Lil Nas faced significant backlash for supposedly mocking Jesus Christ. The negative reactions to his antics eventually caused the 24-year-old entertainer to offer an apology to his Christian fans.
Lil Nas X’s Long Live Montero joins an HBO Max music documentary library that also features Juice WRLD’s Juice WRLD: Into the Abyss and Lizzo’s Love, Lizzo. Carlos López Estrada and Zac Manuel directed Long Live Montero. Members of Hill’s family as well as recording artist Saucy Santana make appearances in the doc.
