BET Denies Bringing Back ‘Uncut’

While on the red carpet for BET’s first annual Player’s Awards last week, Pooch Hall of The Game confirmed with Black Sports Online that BET was bringing back Uncut, the late night show that aired videos too risque to be shown during the day. BET has now issued a statement saying they have no plans of reviving the show.

“During a taping of the first annual [NBA] Players Awards on Sunday in Las Vegas, The Game’s Pooch Hall spoke to Black Sports Online and confirmed the return of BET’s late night show. Contrary to Hall’s quote on the Red Carpet and numerous reports from Hip-Hop outlets, this is untrue. BET.com’s email to Black Sports Online was not returned.”

Uncut was cancelled in 2006 after a six-year run due to much backlash about its provocativeness.

Kendrick Lamar Wants To Be Mentioned With Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix & The Beatles

(AllHipHop News) While many rap fans like to compare Kendrick Lamar to other Hip Hop artists like Drake and J. Cole, the TDE rapper is looking to be mentioned alongside established music icons.

His To Pimp A Butterfly album is already being called an instant classic, but K. Dot hopes the project will stand the test of time like musical masterpieces Blonde on Blonde, The White Album, and Are You Experienced.

“I wanted this record to be talked about the same way Bob Dylan or The Beatles or Jimi Hendrix are talked about,” Lamar told NME. “When my time has come, I want it to live longer than me, for the grandkids and their kids.”

The “Alright” rhymer was also asked about his controversial comments concerning the response to the killing of Mike Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. At the time, Kendrick suggested Black people need to respect themselves before anyone else will respect them.

Kendrick was accused of ignoring the role systemic racism plays in police brutality and racial injustice. He was heavily criticized for his remarks, but the Compton bred emcee refuses to apologize for what he said.

“I don’t care. My life is already written. Everything I’m doing is a rerun of what God already played out for me – I don’t do no apologies,” Kendrick stated. “Everything I said, I meant – period. Those who get it, they understand. Those are the people that need it. If you don’t, then obviously you’re not going through that, so you don’t really care.”

Has 50 Cent Parted Ways With Effen Vodka?

It has been a tough couple of weeks for 50 Cent. He has to pay up $5 million to Rick Ross’ ex-girlfriend for uploading her sex tape to the net. Then he filed for bankruptcy. Now people are asking if Effen Vodka broke off ties with the Queens mogul.

50 had been shouting out Effen in all his Instagram posts, but a look at his page now reveals #Effen is no longer mentioned. He even deleted recent Instagram posts about Effen from yesterday and July 15. You have to go back 26 weeks to see a photo featuring Effen on Fif’s IG.

It was not too long ago 50 was promoting the brand in his friendly competition with Diddy. Do you remember his #NoPuffyJuice campaign? This IG post was from back in March:

UPDATE: An hour after AHH posted this story, 50 returned to Instagram and added an old Power promo pic featuring Effen. The post did not have a caption.

Lil Wayne Kicked Off Private Jet For Smoking Weed?

It looks like Lil Wayne’s weed cost him a flight out of Florida. According to TMZ, Weezy and his crew were booted from a private jet for blowing trees on the plane. The site reports:

We’re told Wayne told the pilot before takeoff at a Ft. Lauderdale airport, he and his entourage wanted to smoke during the flight. The pilot could not have been clearer … absolutely not.

But shortly after takeoff, Wayne and his posse lit up, and the pilot was in no mood to negotiate. The captain turned the plane around 17 minutes after takeoff and landed it where it came from.

Wayne was also said to been seen holding a “double cup” full of a “pink/purple liquid” at the airport.

In a recent interview with the New York Times, Em was asked if he was an “it was better in my day” type of artist. The “Kings Never Die” rapper responded:

For sure, I don’t want to be that guy. You take the good with the bad. It’s one of the things I really respect about Jay [Z]. In my opinion, he’s never had a lull in his career. It’s always just been so consistent; he’s so in tune with what is current and what’s cool to do.

Em also admitted he had a lull in his own career:

Oh, me? For sure. Probably the Encore days. Personally, I look at Relapse as a lull. The rest is subject to opinion.

The music veteran also showed love to the new generation of rap stars. Em named Drake, Big Sean, Schoolboy Q, and Kendrick Lamar as some of the acts he is paying attention to at the moment. The Detroit representative also showed love to his peers Lil Wayne and Kanye West.

Eminem served as executive producer for the Southpaw soundtrack. The collection includes songs by Em as well as 50 Cent, Slaughterhouse, and others. The album and the movie will both be released on July 24.

Joey Bada$$ Continues Blasting The Media, Suggests Bill Cosby Is Being Crucified By The Powers That Be (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Bill Cosby has very few defenders left. While Joey Bada$$ says he does not defend a rapist, the Brooklyn emcee did offer more thoughts on why Cosby has been in the headlines over allegations he raped numerous women throughout his career.

Joey first commented on the comedy legend on Twitter. Those tweets led to negative reactions from many users, so the “Big Dusty” rhymer extended his commentary to Snapchat.

In a series of over 20 posts, Joey not only continued assailing the media, he also offered his own explanation on why the press has made Cosby a public enemy.

“Bill Cosby’s one of the oldest Black, honorable men right now,” says Joey. “I say that just to let y’all know that makes him a f###### threat. That makes him a target.”

The Pro Era frontman goes on to add, “If Bill Cosby decides to say anything that goes against what the people that’s higher don’t want him to say, then they ridicule him. He gets crucified.”

Bada$$ also suggests the attention on Cosby could be a distraction from some other important news item, a reason for White Americans to hate Black people, to discredit his legacy for future generations, or he could simply just be a rapist. But he still believes race place a part.

“I tell you this. They’re going extra hard because he’s a f*cking Black man,” Joey states. “I didn’t see [George] Zimmerman get slandered. I didn’t see Darren Wilson get slandered… We’re talking real murders and not alleged rapists.”
