C-Murder Reacts To Kim Kardashian & Monica Calling For His Release From Prison

(AllHipHop News) Reality show star Kim Kardashian and R&B singer Monica used their celebrity to bring awareness to the case of Corey “C-Murder” Miller. Both women are fully behind the #FreeCoreyMiller campaign.

“On January 18, 2002 a tragedy occurred when a young man was killed. The next day Corey Miller was arrested for the murder,” tweeted Kardashian on August 16. “The jury convicted Corey 10-2 and he was sentenced him to life in prison. If his trial was today, the jury would have had to be unanimous for him to be convicted.”

She added, “Since his trial, witnesses have recanted, new evidence of his potential innocence has come to light, and there are claims of jurors being pressured into voting to convict. True justice for the young man requires that the person who actually killed him be held responsible and that Corey Miller [be] returned home to his kids.”

Monica wrote on her IG page, “I shared that there are lots of issues in Corey’s case that speak to his innocence including witnesses recanting their testimony, DNA not matching and a 10-2 jury! Corey deserves to come home to his girls and be the father they need, be the artist & leader he’s always been as well as spread hope to those who have also experienced this.”

In response to the newfound attention surrounding the calls to #FreeCoreyMiller, C-Murder released a statement from prison. The Instagram page for Percy “Master P” Miller’s younger brother posted a message from the Penitentiary Chances album creator.

C-Murder wrote:

7 months ago I called @monicadenise & she conferenced in @kimkardashian! I did not know Moses had been working to reach Kim. After our call for the first time in 19 years, I slept!! You can rest behind these walls but never do you actually sleep! My case had been stagnant for years! So I published multiple books to help feed my kids & pay lawyers bare minimum! I am a man so it was no one’s responsibility to save me & no one attempted to! But when you trust God he will send his angels! This message is To any man or woman fighting the injustices of the system, DONT EVER GIVE UP!!! And do as I am. Focus on the Blessings, Not the Betrayals! #TruStory #FREECoreyMiller

Cardi B Calls Out The Hypocrisy Of Trump Supporters Using “WAP” In A Social Media Video

(AllHipHop News) After Cardi B released her “WAP” music video featuring Megan Thee Stallion, the Bronx-raised rapper was met with substantial backlash. In particular, right-wing pundits like Ben Shapiro took issue with the song’s explicit lyrics.

Cardi is now calling out a Donald Trump fan-page for posting a video of a group Republicans partying on a boat as “WAP” plays over the edited visuals. The clip shows young men and women waving Trump 2020 flags and wearing Make America Great Again hats.

“Wasn’t Republican conservative[s] throwing a little fit bout this song ? ………Anyways this makes my ass itchy. ….I’m [calling] the FBI on this festivity. They are not quarantining,” joked Cardi B on Twitter.

While Cardi and Megan faced criticism for their collaboration that sampled Frank Ski’s 1993 single “W##### In This House,” the record still debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart with a record-breaking 93 million first-week streams. The “WAP” music video also set viewing records on YouTube.

Despite pushback in certain circles, “WAP” also garnered praise for embracing female sexuality and women empowerment. Some people also pointed out that Cardi’s Gold-certified single is no more vulgar than the language used by Republican President Donald Trump, including the infamous Access Hollywood tape from 2005 where the then-reality show star is heard saying, “Grab them by the p*ssy.”

Carter stated, “We wanted to give you all a sneak peek at our family, our leader Mr. LeBron James in his very new uniform that he is wearing representing the Tune Squad that will be seen in the movie.”

Michael Jordan’s Space Jam made $230 million at the worldwide box office. The film’s soundtrack included songs by Hip Hop artists like B-Real, Coolio, Method Man, LL Cool J, Busta Rhymes, and Salt-N-Pepa.

Rihanna Trolls Donald Trump With Video Of Melania Trump

(AllHipHop News) The 2020 presidential season has officially hit the final stretch as the Democratic Party began its National Convention this week. In 77 days, American voters will get to decide between Democrat former Vice President Joe Biden and Republican President Donald Trump.

International superstar Rihanna is making it clear which candidate she is not backing this November 3. The Anti album creator is using her social media accounts to provide a countdown to Election Day when Trump can be voted out of office.

Yesterday, Rihanna posted an awkward video of First Lady Melania Trump seemingly refusing to hold hands with Donald Trump as they exited Air Force One. Riri added her song “Needed Me” as the soundtrack for the clip.

“Melania likes art. ‍♀️ #78days,” wrote Rihanna as the video’s caption. Previously, she posted photos of herself next to graffiti that read, “F*CK TRUMP.” The Fenty Beauty founder captioned those images, “art. #81days.”

EXCLUSIVE: Jam Master Jay Allegedly Murdered By Close Associates

(AllHipHop News) Two men have been charged in the murder of Run-DMC group member Jam Master Jay, who was gunned down in October of 2002.

The legendary DJ was slain inside of his recording studio on October 30th, during a packed recording session in his Jamaica, Queens New York recording studio.

Up until now, Jay’s murder seemed as if it would never be solved. But the cops have arrested two men who are accused of pulling off the brazen murder.

During an interview, a source told AllHipHop that Jay had been fronted 10 kilos and was murdered by Washington and his cohorts when he couldn’t pay.

Ronald “Tinard” Washington and Karl Jordan Jr. have been indicted for murder while engaging in drug trafficking the police announced during a press conference today (August 17th).

“What we’ve alleged in that indictment, is that on October 30th, 2002 nearly 20 years ago, Mr. Jordan and Mr. Washington walked into a music studio in Queens, where Mr. Mizell and others were working, essentially hanging out, and they walked in and they murdered him in cold blood,” U.S. Attorney Seth DuCharme said during a press conference today.

In 2003, AllHipHop.com broke the news that Jam Master Jay had been involved in drug trafficking as a way to supplement his income.

The Feds say members of Jay’s inner-circle eventually stole his drugs and money, leaving him with the debt.

On the night of October 30th, Jay paid his drug debt with his life, when the two men were buzzed into Jay’s studio.

One of them open-fire, striking and wounding JMJ fatally.

In 2003, Sources connected to the investigation named Little D and Tinard as the primary suspects in the conspiracy.

In addition to Jay’s murder, Karl Jordan Jr. was hit with more drug trafficking charges for peddling cocaine all throughout 2017.

Detective Rodney Harrison said there was a relentless pursuit by the NYPD and multiple federal agencies, to solve what many thought would be another cold case.

The ATF picked up the case and used a variety of investigative techniques to uncover enough evidence to charge Washington and Jordan Jr., with the murder.

Karl Jordan Jr. is scheduled to be arraigned today at 3:00 PM, while Ronald “Tinard” Washington will be arraigned at a later date.

Two Men Arrested For Jam Master Jay’s Decades Old Murder

(AllHipHop News) A pair have men been arrested in the murder of Jam Master Jay, the DJ in iconic rap group Run-DMC.

The murder has been unsolved for over two decades.

JMJ, born Jason Mizell, was murdered in his Jamaica, Queens recording studio on October 30, 2002.

Today, police revealed they will charge Jay’s former associate Ronald “Tinard” Washington and Karl “Lil D” Jordan, Jr. with murder while engaging in drug trafficking.

The Feds say the murder happened over a drug deal gone bad. JMJ had apparently bought two kilos of cocaine to sell.

Investigators say members of Jay’s inner-circle took the drugs and the cash, leaving the legendary DJ in debt to undisclosed drug traffickers.

Jay was supposedly shot and killed over the drug debt.

Tinard and Lil D had been suspects in the murder, but there is now sufficient evidence to arrest the pair and charge them with murder.

Washington, 56, is already imprisoned for robbery, according to a report by the New York Times.

Jordan, Jr. was apprehended by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) and the NYPD on Sunday (Aug. 16).

Run-DMC is regarded as one of the most influential and iconic rap collectives ever. The trio, Run (Joseph Simmons), DMC (Daniel McDaniels) and JMJ, were the first rap group to reach pop, megastar success that. They reached their zenith with “Walk This Way,” a rap-rock collaboration with Aerosmith in 1986.

Jam Master Jay is largely responsible for Run DMC’s fashion sense, which often included Stetson hats and leather suits.

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” Debuts At No. 1 With Record-Breaking Streaming Week

(AllHipHop News) “For the record, I set record record sales,” rapped Cardi B on “I Do” off her 2018 album Invasion of Privacy. Two years later, the New York City-bred rapper continues to stamp her name in the music history books.

Cardi’s “WAP” featuring Megan Thee Stallion debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. The highly-publicized single collected a record-breaking 93 million first-week streams in the United States, surpassing Ariana Grande’s “7 Rings” which garnered 85.3 million first-week streams in 2019.

Besides controlling the Hot 100, “WAP” also tops the Streaming Songs chart and Digital Song Sales chart. Cardi and Megan now hold the record for most single-week sales of 2020 (125,000 downloads) which is the highest one week total since Taylor Swift’s “Me!” featuring Brendon Urie in 2019 (193,000 downloads).

The music video for “WAP” broke records as well. It holds the honor of having the biggest first-week debut on YouTube in the United States (56.4 million views). It also set the mark for most YouTube views for a female collaboration in its first 24 hours (26.6 million views).

Cardi now has four career Number Ones on the Hot 100 after “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It” with Bad Bunny & J Balvin, and “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5. Megan earned her second Number One following “Savage” featuring Beyoncé reaching the top spot in May. Additionally, “WAP” landed at #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and Hot Rap Songs chart.

Bardi Gang can also celebrate the fact that Invasion of Privacy is now in a tie for the longest-charting project on the Billboard 200 chart by a female rapper (123 weeks). If IOP remains on the album rankings next week, Cardi will pass Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint for the all-time record. It already holds the record for the longest-charting debut album by a female rapper.

Cardi B Talks 2020 Election, Healthcare, Education, Police Brutality & More With Joe Biden

(AllHipHop News) For years, Belcalis “Cardi B” Almánzar was an outspoken backer of Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. She even interviewed him in 2019. After Sanders dropped out of the 2020 presidential race earlier this year, Cardi publicly endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden.

The “WAP” hitmaker actually got the chance to speak with Biden as part of a conversation for Elle magazine. The presumptive Democratic nominee asked Cardi to share some of the issues her fans are most concerned about at the moment.

According to Cardi, her followers are interested in elected officials addressing free college tuition and free healthcare. She also mentioned the need for more afterschool programs and affordable childcare in communities like the one she grew up in in the Bronx, New York.

The discussion also included Belcalis and Biden talking about police brutality and police reform. Cardi stated, “Black people – we’re not asking for sympathy, we’re not asking for charity. We are just asking for equality. We are asking for fairness. We are asking for justice. That is all.”

Not only has Cardi shown her support for Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential bid, but she has also disclosed who she would like to see run for the White House in the coming years. U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York could get the Bardi Gang leader’s future endorsement.

In response to seeing a Twitter video of AOC listening to her “Bodak Yellow” single, Cardi tweeted, “She better run for president when she turns 35.” The fellow Bronx native replied to the rapstress by posting, “Women Against Patriarchy (WAP) 2020 .”

Aminé Talks Portland’s Black Lives Matter Protests, Racism & Gentrification

(AllHipHop News) Portland became the focus of national news coverage in July. The media highlighted the Black Lives Matter protests in the nearly 80% Caucasian city after unidentified armed federal officials were seen taken people off the street in unmarked vehicles.

Violent clashes between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security agents and protestors eventually erupted in Portland. Protest groups such as the “Wall of Moms,” “Wall of Dads,” and “Wall of Vets” joined the demonstrations as President Donald Trump threatened to send more federal officers into Oregon’s most populous city.

Hip Hop artist Aminé is one of the most well-known celebrities to emerge from Portland. As the 26-year-old Republic recording artist was on a promotional run for his new album Limbo, he was asked about the BLM movement in his hometown.

“I’m generally not surprised because Portland is liberal. It’s literally the definition [of] liberal. Everyone in that city has a Black Lives Matter post in front of their lawn; they support the movement, and they’ve said that for years. But the history of [Portland] is kind of hypocritical,” Aminé told Grammy.com.

He added, “For a city to be so liberal, it was so racist—the way I was brought up. So for me, Portland is just like the South. Growing up there, it never felt welcoming for anyone who was Black or any sort of minority or was an immigrant. Them [protesting] is a beautiful thing—I love the protesting. But it’s also like, I’m not gonna send my Black family or Black friends out there to protest. Because if they’re beating up white people, what do you think they’re gonna do to us?”

Aminé, a son of Ethiopian immigrants, has expressed solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. In particular, he posted on Instagram about the tragic deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor at the hands of Minneapolis and Louisville police officers, respectively.

The “Shimmy” performer acknowledged his fellow citizens of Portland for standing up against racial injustice. However, Aminé also made a direct correlation between racism and the gentrification that he believes is prevalent in the Pacific Northwest locale.

“Them protesting is what they should’ve done 20, 30 years ago. So I guess it is a long time coming,” expressed Aminé during his interview with the Recording Academy. “But the problem is, the people that are protesting are the same people that are moving the Black people out of Portland neighborhoods and gentrifying the hell out of the city.”

The 2017 XXL Freshman Class member continued, “So my love for Portland is like a bittersweet relationship… It’s the place where I grew up and I love it to death, but it’s also a place that never made me feel like I was welcome.”

Cordae Drops YBN From His Name On Various Online Platforms

(AllHipHop News) “They left this YBN sh*t in the gutter. Remember that. I’ll turn it up myself,” tweeted YBN Nahmir on August 6. Many observers assumed Nahmir’s subliminal message was about the rapper once known as YBN Cordae.

It appears the speculation about a split between Cordae and the YBN crew was correct. Cordae’s verified Instagram and Twitter accounts, as well as his official Spotify page, now list his name without the YBN tag.

The Grammy-nominated emcee has yet to publicly address why he dropped the YBN from his moniker. However, YBN Nahmir continued to post cryptic messages that seem to be directed at his “Pain Away” collaborator.

“Too many turned on me I can’t trust no one,” tweeted Nahmir on August 13. He returned to the social media platform three days later to add, “Watch who you hang around kids. Watch who you do things for. Watch who you help.”

The YBN (Young Boss N*ggas) collective was formed by YBN Nahmir after various members met online while playing video games. Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay eventually began making music together in 2015.

Cordae joined the YBN group in 2018. Later that year, the crew released YBN: The Mixtape via Atlantic Records. That project featured tracks by Nahmir, Almighty Jay, and Cordae.

While Cordae has changed his screen name on various digital platforms, his Twitter handle remains @YbnCordae. Plus, his artist page on the Atlantic Records website still has him listed as YBN Cordae as of press time.

Other members of Young Boss N*ggas apparently co-signed YBN Nahmir’s public frustrations about individuals being disloyal. Almighty Jay recently tweeted, “You ain’t never had n*ggas change up on you so you wouldn’t know the feeling.”

NLE Choppa’s debut studio album, Top Shotta, landed at #10 on this week’s Billboard 200. The 17-year-old rhymer’s first LP collected 36,000 first-week units which consisted of 44.6 million on-demand streams. Previously, his Cottonwood EP peaked at #57.

Elsewhere on the current Billboard 200, Taylor Swift’s Folklore leads the tally for the third week. Juice WRLD’s Legends Never Die (#2), Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon (#3), DaBaby’s Blame It on Baby (#8), and Lil Baby’s My Turn (#9) remain in the Top 10 as well.

Lloyd’s Of London Responds To T.I.’s Open Letter About Its Connection To The Slave Trade

(AllHipHop News) Tip “T.I.” Harris took it upon himself to address Lloyd’s of London’s historical ties to the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. The entertainer/businessman wrote a two-page open letter to the 334-year-old insurance market in July.

T.I. listed four demands in his letter. He called on Lloyd’s to give 10% of its ownership to descendants of African slaves, ensure at least one member of its board be an African-American, conduct accurate annual tracking of reparations, and provide $1 million cash loan with 1% interest to every adult African-American in their lifetime for the next 200 years.

The Family Hustle star wrote on Instagram, at the time:

As promised… an open letter to Lloyd’s of London @lloydsoflondon on behalf of “The Descendants” of African Slaves. We demand equitable financial consideration for their “shameful role” (quoting them) they played in the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. Our people have been financially impaired & economically disabled due to the systemic oppression and institutional racism it leaves behind. Our demands are clearly stated in the letter above. Any & everyone who agrees with the message & intention of the letter hit the link in my bio to sign the petition. IF WE WANT REPARATIONS WE HAVE TO DEMAND IT‼️ LIFE IS ABOUT LEVERAGE‼️ Asking nicely will only get US more of the same excuses “Why Not” as usual. TIME TO TAKE WHAT WE KNOW OUR ANCESTORS DESERVED & DIED FOR‼️ #LloydsofLondonOfficialNotice #TheDecendants #USorELSE✊

Lloyd’s Of London has now responded to T.I.’s open letter:

We cannot unfortunately undo the past. But we would like to play an active role in trying to level the playing field for Black and Minority Ethnic people in today’s world. On 10 June we announced an initial action plan that focuses on education, research and significant funding for charities and other organisations that promote opportunity and inclusion for Black and Minority Ethnic colleagues. There is much more to do and we will work with our Cultural Advisory Group to determine our longer term plans.

T.I. replied to Lloyd’s Of London’s response to his initial letter. He referred to the British corporate body’s “actions to rectify the situation as admirable but insufficient.” The 39-year-old emcee is asking his followers and other supporters to sign an Us or Else petition that calls for “equitable financial consideration” from Lloyd’s for its role in perpetuating the enslavement of Africans during the 1700s and 1800s.

Kim Kardashian Calls For C-Murder To Be Released From Prison

(AllHipHop News) Kim Kardashian West is turning her attention back to helping people get out of prison. After playing a role in the release of people like Alice Marie Johnson, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality show star is now promoting the #FreeCoreyMiller campaign.

Corey Miller is better known as C-Murder, the brother of No Limit Records founder Percy “Master P” Miller. In 2003, the younger Miller was sentenced to life in prison by a non-unanimous jury for the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas.

Kardashian tweeted on Sunday:

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s “WAP” Breaks YouTube Record For Biggest First Week U.S. Debut

(AllHipHop News) “WAP” already holds the record for most YouTube views for a female collaboration in its first 24 hours on the platform. Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s global smash added another accomplishment over the weekend.

The song’s music video broke the record for the biggest first-week debut on YouTube in the United States by collecting 56.4 million views in its first 7 days. “WAP” surpassed 6ix9ine’s “GOOBA” (51.5 million) and Eminem’s “Killshot” (50.1 million).

In total, the visuals for “WAP” have amassed more than 100 million views on YouTube so far. The single also earned Gold eligibility in just one week, and it is expected to open at #1 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.

“WAP” still sits at the pinnacle of the U.S. iTunes chart. Cardi B’s comeback track featuring Megan Thee Stallion led the weekly U.S. Spotify chart (17.3 million streams) and came in at #2 on the Global Spotify chart (31 million streams).

Antwon Bailey- “Find You”

(AllHipHop Music) Far Rockaway Queens is widely considered one of New York City’s roughest neighborhoods. Despite the volatile situation in the street and having so few success stories, the area has spawned the careers of acclaimed rappers Stack Bundles and Chinx. Both of whom were violently gunned down in Queens. Of all the things Far Rockaway is known for, R&B is certainly not one of them. Enter Antwon Bailey aka A.B.

Having developed his singing talents as a child, Antwon pursued music at the behest of his late brother O Head. The decision proved fruitful as he began writing and attending studio sessions. Yet, even with a promising career, the upstart was still lured by the trappings of the street for financial stability.

As he puts it, “Gangstas [are] not supposed to sing, so for me to do R&B is rare but I never let the streets dictate my craft.”

In the last decade, Bailey has earned musical success with his music appearing on major media platforms and working alongside the likes of French Montana, Lil Durk, Jadakiss, as well his close friend, the late Chinx.

Now, with 2020 in full swing, Antwon Bailey has returned with a brand new single titled “Find You.”

Produced by Jamio, the track will be featured on his forthcoming mixtape, ‘Girls Tape.’ Take a listen below.

Russell Brand Slammed For “Mansplaining” Cardi B And Megan Thee Stallions “WAP”

(AllHipHop News) Whose responsibility is it really to critique women’s sexuality?

That is a question coming up over and over again since the dropping of Cardi B and Megan thee Stallion’s#### song, “WAP.”

Some people are quickly finding out that critiquing the song is tricky minefield, whether it appears to be an anthropological perspective, Judeo-Christian moral space, or just some patriarchal double-standard.

What is clear is that people like Russell Brand might want to keep their mouths shut on issues like this.

After releasing a 17-minute video where he unpacks feminism as it relates to the hyper-sexual song, he received backlash from those who accuse him of “mansplaining” his take on the performance.

He stated in his discussion, “If male Hip-Hop tropes are about the potency of male sexuality… and then the female video is a sort of celebration of sexual potency… it’s an emulation of a template that already exists and is established by males.”

He questioned his viewers if women “achieve equality by aspiring to and replicating the values that have been established by males…. Is it equality if the template has already been established by a formal dominator?”

However, instead of allowing space for reflection, he speaks through his white male privileged answered, “No.”

“I wouldn’t be so reductive and simplistic to say that women celebrating their bodies using an aesthetic that’s conventionally been associated with the male gaze means it’s impossible that these tools could be used as a vehicle for liberation,” he stated, but then proposed another perspective.

“But I am saying that, in a sense, it’s still the same metric — it’s still the same aesthetic, it’s still the same values, it’s still the same ideals. It’s still ultimately a sort of capitalist objectification and commodification of, in this case, the female.”

Women were not having it and took to social media.

What could have been helpful is if he had this conversation not in a vacuum, but with different people who could offer a more wide perspective on the topic.

Kanye West Offers Lucrative Job To Christians Only

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this year, Kanye West joked with the world that he might change his name to Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West for at least a year, to let people know that as a businessman he is a competitor, he is prosperous and he is a saved by grace.

And his desire to put Christian at the top of his name is so pressing because he wants to send a message to the world.

What is the message?

Above all things, he fashions himself as a “Man of God” over all of the other titles that the multi-hyphenate actually carries.

This is why he wants Michelle Tidball, a Christian life-coach and preacher from Wyoming, to run on his ticket as his vice-president in this year’s presidential election.

https://twitter.com/kanyewest/status/1294757082449580032

And, he wants to make sure that the person in charge of his money over his various businesses is also a Christian. He posted on his Twitter the following smoke signal to let the world know what kind of person he is looking for in his C-suite.

“I’m topping 5 billion and I’m looking for a new trusted Christian CFO”

There is no word who he is looking to tap.
