Jay-Z & Yo Gotti File Legal Brief To Compel Parchman Prison To Test For COVID-19

(AllHipHop News) Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Mario “Yo Gotti” Mims are not letting up on pressuring officials at Mississippi State Penitentiary (aka Parchman Farms). The two Roc Nation emcees already helped expose the inhumane conditions at the facility.

Jay, Gotti, and Team Roc attorneys also got the Centene healthcare company to terminate its partnership with Parchman and the Mississippi Department of Corrections. Now efforts are being made to force better COVID-19 medical treatment for the people in the prison.

With the backing of Yo Gotti and Jay-Z, Team Roc’s lawyers submitted a legal filing that asked the Mississippi courts to compel Parchman prison to adhere to strict COVID-19 testing and compliance guidelines. Apparently, Parchman staff does not verbally screen attorney visitors and does not screen staff at the entrance to the facility.

According to Team Roc, only 132 of the 2,034 individuals incarcerated at Parchman had been tested for COVID-19. Thirty-three percent of that total tested positive, and one person reportedly died from coronavirus over the weekend.

“It’s a travesty that Parchman continues to neglect the lives of the people in their prisons and expose them to the deadly COVID-19 virus,” says Team ROC attorney Marcy Croft. “Not only are they failing to comply with the basic COVID-19 prevention and testing protocols, but they’re recklessly spreading the virus within the prison by housing infected people with healthy ones.”

Croft continues, “We even have concerns that our attorneys may have been exposed while visiting Parchman, which is why we’re calling for immediate transparency and stricter compliance.”

Young Dolph Explains The Meaning Of His ‘Rich Slave’ Album Title

(AllHipHop News) As Black Lives Matter activists pressure elected officials to pass new laws combating systemic racism, conversations about race continue to take place across the country. Young Dolph is offering his own story of life in America during these times.

The Memphis rapper born Adolph Thornton, Jr. released his latest album today (August 14). Dolph choosing to name the project Rich Slave raised a few eyebrows because it could be viewed as trivializing the institution of chattel slavery. The 35-year-old rhymer explained his thoughts behind the title.

“It’s the reality of being Black in this country,” states Young Dolph. “You can have money, and you can be a benefactor and a leader in your community, but all people see is Black skin. All the bullsh*t I heard about as a kid, we still face in today’s time.”

He adds, “Over the years, they have given us a little bit of freedom but it’s only a temporary pacifier. Hopefully, this album makes people understand that even though guys like me are doing well, we’re still affected by racism and inequality. It’s 2020, but the same stuff is still going on.”

Rich Slave includes contributions from Megan Thee Stallion, Key Glock, and G Herbo. It is Young Dolph’s first solo LP since 2018’s Role Model. Last year, he partnered with Key Glock for the Dum and Dummer collaborative album.

Cardi B Responds To Carole Baskin’s Criticism Of “Wap” Music Video

(AllHipHop News) Not only did Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wap” video have cameos from celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Normani, but it also featured tigers and cheetahs. The digital effects/practical effects presentation earned critical praise and over 87 million first-week YouTube views.

However, “Wap” was met with a lot of critiques as well. While some critics were bothered by the sexually-explicit content, Carole Baskin from Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness docuseries took issue with the big cats that were used in the Colin Tilley-directed visuals.

“The worst part is that it glamorizes the idea of rich people having tigers as pets,” argued Baskin. “That makes every ignorant follower want to imitate by doing the same. After tigers are too old for pay to play sessions by people like Joe Exotic, Bhagavan Antle, Marc McCarthy, Mario Tabraue, and others, they become a liability instead of an asset.”

She continued, “While I think most are destroyed behind closed gates at that point, some end up being given away to people who want to have a tiger to show off. That never works out and the cats either die or end up dumped in sanctuaries or, worse yet, breeding mills. Either way, it’s always abusive to the cat.”

In a new interview, Cardi B was asked about the Big Cat Rescue CEO’s criticism of the “Wap” video featuring cheetahs and tigers. The Bronx-raised superstar brought up that Baskin was accused of killing her second husband, Don Lewis, by allegedly feeding him to the animals at her sanctuary.

“I’m not gonna engage with Carole Baskin on that,” Cardi told i-D. “Like, that’s just ridiculous you know? Oh, Lord. Like, girl you killed your g###### husband.” Baskin has denied murdering Lewis.

A$AP Ferg Throws Shade At Nicki Minaj’s Barbz Over “Move Ya Hips” Sales

(AllHipHop News) A$AP Ferg’s “Move Ya Hips” featuring Nicki Minaj and MadeinTYO had a respectable opening on the Hot 100 chart. The collaboration landed at #19 on Billboard‘s rankings of the country’s most popular songs.

A Top 20 entry was not good enough for some of Minaj’s diehard fans. Rumors began circulating that the Harlem native caused the record to miss out on a #1 debut because a large number of website sales were not submitted to the MRC Data analytics company in time.

The Barbz even got #ASAPFergIsOverParty to trend on Twitter as the stans blamed Ferg for costing Nicki Minaj a chance to score her third consecutive Number One. There were even accusations the 31-year-old New Yorker scammed Minaj’s followers out of their money.

https://twitter.com/MARCUSXW_/status/1292891082901139457

However, Ferg is suggesting the reports of him dropping the ball are inaccurate. In an Instagram post, the A$AP Mob member thanked his team for all the website sales being submitted. He even threw light shade at any Barbz who are now refusing to support the song because they “canceled” the rapper.

Ferg posted on IG:

Great start to a long race! Thank you to the Queen from Queens @nickiminaj & my brother @madeintyo for making an incredible record with me! Thank you to everyone who’s streaming, downloading and loving this song. Thank you to my amazing team for working nonstop to get us a top 20 debut- thank you for submitting all the website sales . This is a marathon not a race! Let’s keep going. There’s a #1 in our future! Oh yeah, for everyone that suddenly stopped liking our song after the first week, thank you for stopping by! No matter what, “Move Ya Hips” – Ferg

Polo appeared as the titular character in the visuals. Comedian/influencer Pretty Vee took on the role of “Gina” who was originally portrayed by Campbell. Ariel Brown (“Pam”), Mackenzie Cange (“Tommy”), and Malcolm (“Cole”) also recreated the Martin cast.

Drake Drops “Laugh Now Cry Later” Video Featuring Lil Durk & Announces Album Title

(AllHipHop News) It looks like it’s about to be Drizzy season once again. Aubrey Drake Graham published his latest music video overnight. The track features Chicago-raised rapper Lil Durk.

Drake and Durk star in the visuals for the song titled “Laugh Now Cry Later.” The Dave Meyers-directed clip was filmed at the Nike World Headquarters in Oregon.

Professional athletes Kevin Durant, Odell Beckham Jr, and Marshawn Lynch made cameos in the MV. Drake also tapped internet comedian Druski and social media influencer Aggy for scenes in “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

Additionally, the OVO frontman announced the name of his upcoming sixth studio album. The project is called Certified Lover Boy which he revealed on Instagram.

Certified Lover Boy will arrive after Drake released his Dark Lane Demo Tapes mixtape in May. That collection of previously leaked records and new songs debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 223,000 first-week units.

Busta Rhymes Is About To Drop Soon! And It Is FIRE!

(AllHipHop Rumors) AllHipHop has spies everywhere! One of my super sources has told me that Busta Rhymes NEXT album is finally done. This has been a very, very long time coming! Busta has not dropped a full album in quite a few years – since 2012’s Year of the Dragon. Now, the sources are saying this album is FIRE…like a dungeon dragon fire!

YES! I have been waiting for quite some time for Busta to drop! There are a few things floating out there around what this is, Extinction Level Event 2 or Good God Almighty (Via Wikipedia). The ELE2 concept has been around for quite some time and this Good Good Almighty is new to me. So, I guess we will see!

The main point is: THE ALBUM IS FIRE! There is a lot of excitement around this and I hope and pray it sets the record straight! Busta is necessary.

Detroit’s Own Baby Smoove Wants All The Plaques

Baby Smoove is one of the hardest artists to come out of Detroit… period. As one of the leaders of the underground scene in his city, the “Kane” rapper has established his own distinct style and sound, with a one-of-a-kind flow that stands out amongst his peers.

When it comes to his biggest influences, he states, “My personality is more Gucci Mane, but my real artistry’s more Lil Wayne.”

Smoove stays true to himself in all that he does, allowing his personality to shine to his 142K followers on Instagram. Last year alone, the 24-year-old released 4 projects: Baby, Flawless, Mr.Perfect, and Purple Heart, each one showcasing a different aspect of his personality. With bangers such as “Akorn” going crazy on both Youtube (5.8 million views) and Spotify (2 million streams), he continues to feed his fans with nothing short of bangers.

Now, he returns with the deluxe to Mr. Perfect, aptly titled I’m Still Perfect. With 15 brand new tracks, he once again solidifies his ability to rap and touch the masses.

AllHipHop: We’re at the beautiful Kandypens house in the hills, how are you feeling?

Baby Smoove: Wonderful, it’s an experience. LA’s a vibe itself. It’s a vibe within a vibe, within another vibe. It’s really a big ass amusement park for grown people, you can do whatever you want to do.

AllHipHop: What do you like about LA compared to Detroit?

Baby Smoove: The weather. Y’all got everything, all types of females. Any female you can build in your head, you can find out here. The clothes, the love. It’s a different type of love. Out here they don’t know about the Detroit mentality, or Michigan. Their whole world, their whole understanding and appreciation is different from everything we grew up in.

AllHipHop: What’s the Detroit mentality?

Baby Smoove: Lone wolf, everybody for their motherf##king self.

AllHipHop: What was the household like growing up?

Baby Smoove: It was normal Detroit. You got your hood stuff going on, but normal for real. I didn’t want to grow up in Detroit, I wanted to be a suburban kid. I never wanted to be in the streets. It’s not sweet, it’s not cool. I never looked at it as something to glorify, that’s why I never really rapped about where I was from. n##ga look, there’s 5 abandoned houses on my block. Who cares?

AllHipHop: But at the same time, that’s your roots.

Baby Smoove: Oh yeah, that’s what made me. That’s why I appreciate this [LA]. If I was born in this, I wouldn’t appreciate palm trees and 80 degree weather every day. When you come from -2 degrees and 6 bandos a block, it’s a big difference. This doesn’t even look real. [laughs]

AllHipHop: You got a song called “Skippin School.” What was Baby Smoove like then?

Baby Smoove: Quiet, I didn’t really talk at all. I’d talk to myself before I talked to anybody. I skipped school a lot. I graduated, but I used to leave school. I shouldn’t say this because I don’t want my fans to… you feel me? I never went to high school, I was on the principal’s list though.

AllHipHop: When did you realize music could be a career?

Baby Smoove: My first time I got brought to the studio from a friend of a friend, I was 15. As soon as I said a word through the mic and heard my voice, a bulb clicked in my head. [clicks] I tested it out. Soon as I said something, “this is it!” Imagine if an artist knew they could paint, but they never had a pen. Imagine if you gave a real artistic person a paint brush and a canvas, they don’t know what they’re doing or what they’re creating. It’s almost amazing yourself while you’re doing it.

AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Gucci song?

Baby Smoove: You can’t ask me that. I got real CDs! You have to ask me a time, a Gucci period.

AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Gucci era?

Baby Smoove: Wilt Chamberlain. Around the time of the movie, Dopeman 3D. And the Brick Squad era, love that s##t.

AllHipHop: Congrats on the release of I’m Still Perfect, how you feeling?

Baby Smoove: Wonderful, because I’m really independent. You can go upload your music the way I upload mine. I’m not holding some type of secret recipe, you can go do everything I’m doing. You might not have the results I got, but I’m really independent. I don’t have a big homie behind me to put money on my back.

AllHipHop: I’m sure you’ve had labels reach out, why remain independent?

Baby Smoove: I just need a family. I really do this, I’m not looking to be bouncing from label to label, or to be not happy with the people at the label. They have to really be my people, understand this is what I do. I’m always going to perform on my end, I need you to perform on your end. That’s a big thing, a big step. I don’t trust people forreal, you hear bad s##t all the time. Music’s everything I got.

AllHipHop: I mean, you’re doing the thang!

Baby Smoove: Mmhmm, I ain’t trippin’. I get blank checks all the time. They want me to ride it out so bad, eventually I might. If I find some people who are really genuine, that’s when I’ma do it. They have to appreciate the art though, that’s the main thing. You can’t look at me like a stock or something you can make money off of. That’s what pushed me away from labels, period. There’s too much business. I love making music, I don’t give a f##k about a dollar. I’m not about to feed your family off my s##t, who are you?

AllHipHop: You definitely have your own lane, talk about finding your own voice.

Baby Smoove: My voice is distinctive, it’s part of my purpose. My personality at times is a lot, that’s how I’m able to speak. Everybody doesn’t have that fullness in their voice, it’s like that for a reason. I’m able to make music the way I make music. On a f##king computer, it’s crazy. I was always able to rap, but I’d never go out and try to rap. I remember in middle school, I’d be beating on the desk, making my beat and rapping in my head for a whole hour. Had to keep it going, I can’t mess up. It could be any word I’m basing the rhymes off of, even synonyms.

AllHipHop: Someone said those ASMR tracks be hitting. What made you whisper on “Wax”?

Baby Smoove: How my voice is on the mic if I’m high, it goes super raspy. I had to find a way around that. I tried it out and it was going, this s##t hard. I’m playing around, whispering and talking to everybody in the room. I can’t explain it, I don’t know what the hell goes through my head. I was looking for something new, I was so tired of everybody copying and trying to do lame s##t. I’m always trying to do something new, I’m not in the studio making the same song over and over.

AllHipHop: Do you freestyle everything?

Baby Smoove: I can’t tell you the last song I wrote, it might be “BLICKY.” I wrote an 8 and finished it off in the studio. I’d write a 4, an 8, then finish in the studio because I couldn’t’ freestyle. The year before last if you would’ve told me [to freestyle], I would’ve been blank. I didn’t like that, that was a fault in my moment. I worked with it, I knew I wouldn’t wake up the next morning and be Lil Wayne. It varies now, I could do a song in 20 or 30 minutes. Or an hour, depends how hard I’m thinking about it. I overthink sometimes.

AllHipHop: Talk about making “omg,” that’s me and Sophie’s favorite song of yours.

Baby Smoove: “OMG” was made by accident! The song was already done, there was no “OMG” in it. At the end of the song, I kept saying “oh my God, oh my God…” It was on beat, I was saying it to the engineer. That’s when it clicked, “oh s##t say it.” Then I said “gimme another adlib!” It was so hard to me. That song should’ve went everywhere, all around the world. It’s in my top 5. It’s overlooked and I hate it, that’s what made me stop dropping music for a year.

AllHipHop: For real?

Baby Smoove: Yeah, I really don’t care. I make music for me, this is what I love doing. This is my hobby, my art. You don’t gotta listen. I don’t do this to make other people happy. I like making good music.

AllHipHop: Talk about how the new project, I’m Still Perfect, compares to Mr. Perfect.

Baby Smoove: I made a CD in 2018 called Why so Serious, it got overlooked. It didn’t get all the attention it deserved, but it’s a process. I had 3K followers, I’m always in my head. So I did I’m Still Serious, which was Why so Serious on steroids. Y’all better pay attention to what I’m doing, this ain’t no game. Don’t play with me. I’m Still Perfect was Mr. Perfect on steroids. Mr. Perfect got its attention, but people forgot that I was perfect. I had to really let them know, I do this s##t. This is not a game with me.

AllHipHop: Why no features?

Baby Smoove: I don’t need nobody on my songs. I don’t really trust n##gas anyway. That’s a lot of trust to give somebody a real open verse.

AllHipHop: One time for Detroit though? I f##k with Icewear Vezzo.

Baby Smoove: I got a song with Vezzo, that’s enough features right there for my career. I don’t make a song and think “what’s his name will be hard on this.” Nah, I’m hard on this. I’ma take the second verse, what? Come on.

AllHipHop: What’s your love for basketball?

Baby Smoove: That’s me. [laughs] I am the basketball. I’m supposed to be in the NBA, that’s why there’s so many basketball references in the music. I’m in the league for real, just not their league. I’m a superstar, franchise player of course. I love basketball, I really do.

AllHipHop: Do you have ball skills?

Baby Smoove: I can play! I’m not Michael Jordan, but I can put that b##ch in the rim. I’m a couple years rusty but give me a week or 2, I’ma be in the celebrity games for sure.

AllHipHop: What’s your relationship with the Melo family?

Baby Smoove: That’s my family, I’m the fourth brother. I’m the fourth Ball, Baby Smoove Ball. There’s Zo, Gelo, Melo, and me.

AllHipHop: When are you going on tour?

Baby Smoove: F##k, when can we go on tour? I’ll gladly go. I miss it. We get turnt. I stay getting in the crowd, bringing everybody on stage. We’ll stay, don’t give a f##k if the time’s supposed to end. It’s a party, a celebration. They came to see me, come on.

AllHipHop: Goals for yourself as an artist at this point in your career?

Baby Smoove: I want a lot of plaques, sold-out stadiums. Hang it all round my house. You know how you go in the studio and they have all them plaques? I want all me, lined up in my house.

Rubi Rose Follows Up “Wap” Cameo With “He In His Feelings” Music Video

(AllHipHop News) Atlanta-born rapstress Rubi Rose is having a breakout week. She caught a lot of people’s attention when she appeared in the record-breaking music video for Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wap.”

Rose is now presenting her own vision in the form of visuals for her single “He In His Feelings.” The Damien Sandoval-directed clip displays the Georgia State University graduate rocking various all-black outfits as she rhymes over the JayUncut-produced beat.

“He In His Feelings” arrives after Rose let loose other tracks such as “Pretty MF” and “Hit Yo Dance” featuring Yella Beezy and NLE Choppa. The official music video for “Big Mouth” has collected over 11 million views on YouTube, and Rose has amassed more than 25 million total streams.

Besides choosing her to be one of the surprise cameos in the much-talked-about “Wap” video, Cardi praised Rubi Rose during an interview with Apple Music’s Beats 1. The Grammy winner also shouted her out on Instagram.

“Just bad @therubirose… She haven’t been playing neither. I see her [going] far as well. Real bad b*tch music and a dope ass voice. I don’t stress this enough. You need a unique tone of voice when you a female rapper.”

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wap” Projected To Debut At No. 1 With Huge First-Week Units

(AllHipHop News) “Wap” looks to be a mega-hit. The backlash over the lyrical content of the song and the sexual imagery of the visuals likely helped Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s first collaboration collect a substantial amount of streams and views.

According to chart forecasters, “Wap” is headed to massive first-week numbers. The Hip Hop single should easily debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with projected sales of 85,000 and on-demand streams of 89 million.

Some predictions have “Wap” crossing the 100 million-streams mark by the end of the week. The single is also headed to collecting 800,000 RIAA units in its first week of release which would give Cardi and Megan a Gold-eligible song in just seven days.

If “Wap” does land in the top spot of the Hot 100, Cardi B would secure her fourth No. 1 song. The Invasion of Privacy album creator already holds the record for most Number Ones for a female rapper (“Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “Girls Like You”).

Megan Thee Stallion would earn her second Hot 100 chart-topper. The Houston Hottie scored her first #1 in May when “Savage (Remix)” featuring Beyoncé climbed to the pinnacle of the Billboard rankings.

At the moment, “Wap” leads the iTunes chart, the Apple Music chart, and the Spotify chart in the United States. The raunchy record has become popular in other countries as well. “Wap” reached #1 on Spotify’s daily Global Top 200 chart with more than 4.7 million plays worldwide. It is the first female rap collab to achieve that milestone.

Drake Teases New Release With Jet Ski Video

(AllHipHop News) Drizzy Drake is set to drop something new tonight (August 13). Is it a song? A project? A music video?

The internet is speculating what the Canadian hitmaker has in store after he posted a video on Instagram with the caption, “TMRW MIDNIGHT .” In the 10-second clip, it appears Drake and another person are riding jet skis.

A post shared by champagnepapi (@champagnepapi)

There were rumors circulating that Drake could be collaborating with either Bruno Mars or Ariana Grande on a new record. However, the use of the jet ski in the vid is likely hinting at visuals for either “Popstar” or “Greece.”

Both singles feature Drake as a guest performer, but DJ Khaled is credited as the lead artist. Five years ago, Khaled famously got lost out on the water in Miami while riding a jet ski at night. He documented the entire ordeal live on his Snapchat account.

DJ Khaled added to the speculation that he and Drake have something coming soon. The We The Best boss uploaded a photo of an owl to his Instagram account not long after Drake’s video. That particular animal is also associated with Drake’s OVO label and brand.

Dr. Dre’s Wife Demands An Audit Of His Financial Record In War Over $800 Million Fortune

(AllHipHop News) Nicole Young has subpoenaed Dr. Dre’s accountant, asking him to send her lawyer copies of all of her husband’s business and financial records from 2010 – 2020.

This 10-year “audit” will help her side estimate just how much they should shoot for as they seek some sort of compensation during the dissolution of their marriage.

However, Dr. Dre is not just handing over these records to his estranged wife. In a formal response, it is said that the booty of documentation has some of his “private information” that he does not believe is relevant for her to see.

“Throughout our marriage, I have maintained separate books and records regarding my separate property and my separate property business entities,” the beatmaker states in the paperwork. “I object to the production of such documents that contain my private information as well as my confidential business information that involves third parties as well. For example‚ there is no basis for the production of my confidential employee employment records.”

The attorneys on Dr. Dre’s side will provide the couple’s joint tax returns for the last decade and believe that should be sufficient for her team to do any calculations that they need to.

The Hip-Hop mogul maintains that the two have a prenuptial agreement that is valid and should be abided by.

However, Nicole Young — who is a lawyer— says that Dre tore up the agreement, and thus she is entitled to a portion of his $800 million fortune.

The Lox Lineup Superproducers For New Album “Living Off Xperience”

(AllHipHop News) According to Styles P, the reason that The LOX continues to be one of the most respected groups in the industry is because they are really brothers.

They were not pulled together by a mastermind producer, they don’t get jealous of each other’s successes and most of all they really rock with each other as emcees.

And they have … since they were teens.

And so, fans are in for a treat as the founders of D-Block are dropping their fourth studio album, Living Off Xperience on Friday, August 28th.

If the entire project is as fire as the first single “Loyalty & Love,” it is sure to be a classic.

Outside of top-notch lyrics, what are the ingredients to a classic album? Well, production matters.

The LOX team has that covered as they have enlisted AraabMuzik, Scott Storch, and Large Professor. Another ingredient has to be special features.

While they won’t release all of the features the next single up on August 19th is “Bout S##t” with their Ruff Ryder brother, Darkman X (the same day that the album is available for pre-order).

The former Bad Boys staked their claims in Hip-Hop almost 25 years ago. They came up under The Notorious B.I.G. and were the little brothers to Mary J. Blige.

While Diddy gave them their mainstream appeal, it was their affiliation with Ruff Ryders management that kept them edgy and associated with the streets.

The relationship is chronicled on BET’s “Ruff Ryders Chronicles” docuseries.

The first episode debuted on August 12th. However, the multi-episode series will keep you on edge for weeks to come.

DaBaby Backs Kanye But Can He Even Vote?

(AllHipHop News) North Carolina rapper DaBaby is getting political.

The “Bop” rapper took to his social media to let his fans know that he has only one person in mind for the highest office of the nation. That would be the “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” brainchild, Kanye West.

It all started early Wednesday morning when tweeted two (sent back to back) of posts where he seemed to be showing the little homie some love.

The first of Yeezy’s tweets said, “Lesssgoooooooooooo” and the second one was sent to inform the masses and said, “Da baby ad-lib by the way.”

In response, DaBaby retweeted and then tipped his hat to the producer turned politician, saying, “Warning. Use the “let’s gooo” adlib at your own risk. It makes you unstoppable.”

Then he posted on Twitter the following, “Ima let y’all finish…. But you got me f##### up you think I ain’t voting for Ye.”

But here is the rub. DaBaby is not eligible to vote.

According Voterrecords.com, Jonathan Lyndale Kirk first registered to vote a little over 9 ½ years ago on December 22, 2009. He registered as a Democrat in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina.

The site also reveals that his voter status has been “removed.” The reason that the website gave is because of a “Felony Sentence Completed.”

The North Carolina Voting Rights Guide: People in the Criminal Justice System says if a felon has completed his sentence, he is “eligible to vote and may register.”

What DaBaby has to do is to ask his releasing officer for his Certificate of Restoration of Forfeited Rights of Citizenship. It is not required to register to vote but will prove his eligibility to vote if challenged.

Lauryn Hill’s Daughter Compares Singer To An Angry Slave Master

(AllHipHop News) Lauryn Hill’s eldest daughter has gone public with the “trauma” she suffered growing up with her strict mother, likening the hip-hop star’s disciplinary methods to “slave” beatings.

Model Selah Marley opened up about her tough upbringing in a candid Instagram Live session on Monday, revealing she struggled growing up without her musician father, Rohan Marley, around, and then had to deal with allegedly violent spankings from singer/rapper Lauryn Hill.

“Honestly guys, I’m just hurting. I can’t even front that I’m not,” she shared in the two-hour long session.

“I’ve been hurting for so much of my life and so much of my life has been me avoiding how much I’m really hurting just from the circumstances.”

Opening up about her relationship with her mother, Selah insisted Lauryn Hill is “an amazing woman” but claimed her way of keeping her children in line was often through physical abuse.

“She would spank us to no avail,” Selah said. “She was just very angry. So, so, so, so, so, so angry. She was literally not easy to talk to and then half the time we didn’t live with her. I lived with my grandparents half the time… It’s crazy, I’m playing this trauma back in my head as I speak to you.”

Selah recalled how Hill would have one of her kids “go get the belt” whenever she or one of her siblings misbehaved, and would hold them up by their hands so they were hanging “as she beat us.”

“Literally, just like that,” she detailed. “And then the threats, the constant threats (of beatings)… That belt, man. That’s that slave s##t. That was some slavery s##t.”

However, Selah admits many black parents during that time “were on that s##t”, and the beatings weren’t as severe when she became a teen.

Lauryn Hill, a mother of six, has yet to respond to her daughter’s comments.

Nick Cannon Files $1 Billion Lawsuit Against Viacom

(AllHipHop News) The world sat in awe as the Nick Cannon and ViacomCBS debacle exploded before our eyes.

Viacom, and its subsidiaries MTV and Nickelodeon, cut ties because of the statements that Nick made on his podcast, “Cannon’s Class.”

On one episode of “Cannon’s Class,” the host featured Professor Griff from Public Enemy. Griff has a history of making comments that have been viewed as anti-Semitic.

However, this time the controversy came from Nick Cannon, who expressed a theory popular in the Black Hebrew community that those who consider themselves Jews and who occupy Israel, are not the real People of the Covenant.

The backlash was swift and severe. Nick Cannon was terminated as the Chairman of Teen Nick and his show *Wild N’ Out* was not only taken off the air, but ViacomCBS claimed ownership.

A month later, Nick Cannon is striking back.

In a statement released to The Shade Room, a rep from NCredible Entertainment laid it out Nick’s next moves: “It is just that simple, ‘Wild’N Out belongs to Nick!”

The rapper is planning on filing a $1.5 billion lawsuit against Viacom demanding the return of the “Wild ‘N Out” franchise.

“The show was created by Nick Cannon with his idea and original thought,” a statement attributed to Cannon read to the Black celebrity gossip website. “Wild’N Out has brought billions of dollars in revenue to Viacom since 2015. And Nick deserves and has earned everything it is worth.”

“From the platforms he provides for other entertainers, the jobs he creates for black youth, the time he gives to mentoring incarcerated men and women, to the money he gives back and puts into communities, homelessness, and people less fortunate, he is constantly evolving both spiritually and mentally, as well as, taking action in learning, education and bridging the gap within the Jewish and African American communities, so that it will allow us to build relationships, work together and learn from each other in order to move forward in equality.”

R. Kelly Goons Busted For Burning Up Ex-Girlfriend’s Car

(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly used to be one of the most powerful men in music.

A go-to man for megahits, he has produced hundreds of best-selling singles. At one point in time, his pen was so wickedly powerful, it is alleged that he was able to lure legions of young girls into his sexual lair in plain sight and with no fear of repercussion.

Money. Sex. Influence. He seemed unstoppable — which made him a bully. Apparently, even behind bars his sinister reach still continues to intimidate.

The Feds have recently made public that three men are being accused of threatening women connected to the R. Kelly sexual abuse case.

One victim was offered $500,000 to keep her mouth shut when talking to the prosecutors.

Two others, a manager and adviser to the R&B singer, tried to blackmail said women with explicit pictures of them doing various embarrassing sexual positions.

One of those men named Michael Williams, 37, Valdosta, GA went to Florida in June intending to intimidate a victim/ witness in the Kelly case. Williams is said to be related to a publicist for Robert Kelly.

What was the form of intimidation that he perpetrated? He burned up Azriel Clary’s SUV as it was in front of the place where she was living.

R. Kelly still maintains that he never abused any underaged women, or made women stay forcefully against their will.
