(AllHipHop News) B.M.F. founder Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory is taking another shot at gaining his freedom.
Earlier this week, Big Meech’s high-powered lawyer Wade Fink filed a notice with the Eastern District of Michigan, indicated his client is gearing up to fight the second ruling denying his request for compassionate release.
Meech has been trying to get out of a 30-year prison sentence for running a drug empire with his brother Terry “Southwest T” Flenory.
In 2008 Big Meech was sentenced to 30 years in prison, for running the drug dealing organization known as the Black Mafia Family with Southwest T, who was ordered to serve 25 years in prison for his role as a top leader in the gang.
In April of 2020, the brothers filed for compassionate release due to their elevated risks posed by the coronavirus. In May, Southwest T caught a break and was released from a Kentucky prison and sentenced to home confinement.
However, Big Meech has not been so lucky.
In his first attempt to gain compassionate release, Judge David M. Lawson ruled Meech was not at risk of catching the coronavirus at FCI Sheridan in Oregon, where he is serving his time.
(AllHipHop News) Rap-rocker Machine Gun Kelly’s testicles have delayed the release of his latest video.
The star released his new single, “Concert for Aliens,” last week without a promo and fans spent the weekend quizzing him about the missing visuals.
Now, the Texan has taken to Instagram to explain the delay, revealing an eagle-eyed producer spotted something that should never appear in a video.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CDucfACp_wN
“My balls peeked through the nurse’s gown outfit so we couldn’t put out the video because my balls would be all over the video,” Machine Gun Kelly explained. “so umm… this is why the video is pushed back a couple of days.”
The hitmaker, real name Colson Baker, has reshot the offending scene and the video for “Concert For Aliens” will be released later this week.
(AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I’s wife, Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris, is standing up to those criticizing her daughter for getting pregnant out of wedlock.
Critics jumped on social media to point out the mom-to-be isn’t married to her child’s father, rapper Bandhunta Izzy.
Now her mom is fighting back, insisting she wasn’t married when she fell pregnant with her first child and she “turned out fine”.
“Zonnique is a very well-rounded woman,” Tiny tells PageSix. “She’s not fast. She‘s not doing nothing no different than most women or her peers out there.
“I did not struggle. I was out there getting my money. I mean, I had a baby father but we weren’t married and I lived a great life. Zonnique lived a great life; she did not want for anything. Just because you get married doesn’t mean that you’re going to stay married.”
(AllHipHop News) Kanye West is taking legal action to ensure he is a candidate for president in Wisconsin after officials ruled he missed the filing deadline by seconds.
The rapper has been running an unconventional campaign for the presidency, with Democrat politicians accusing the star of running as a “spoiler candidate” to help President Trump beat their presumptive candidate, former Vice President Joe Biden.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, in the swing state of Wisconsin, West missed the 5 pm filing deadline on August 4th by 14 seconds
On Monday he filed a legal complaint claiming that state law “does not distinguish between minutes and seconds” and so he should be on the ballot.
“For the average observer, arriving before 5:01 p.m. is arriving ‘not later’ than 5 p.m,” his election lawyer Michael Curran wrote in the filing.
“The phrase ‘not later’ is particularly instructive in that it indicates the presumption that the seconds from 5:00:00 to 5:00:59 are inclusive to 5 p.m. As the statute states ‘5 p.m.,’ for something to be filed later than ‘5 p.m.’ it would have to be filed at 5:01 p.m.”
Curran also argued that West’s team was delayed in their filing by state election officials, who allegedly locked their agency’s door, “overly aggressive” members of the media, and a Democratic operative.
The filing was made in response to two challenges to the “Gold Digger” hitmaker’s nomination papers, after he submitted 2,400 signatures, putting him above the threshold of 2,000 needed to get on the ballot.
Complaints filed state that he should not appear on Wisconsin’s presidential ballot because his submission was late, and that they include incorrect addresses and phony signatures, including “Mickey Mouse” and (Democrat politician) “Bernie Sanders.”
Six individuals have also filed an affidavit alleging they were duped into putting their names on the musician’s nomination papers.
The complaints and Kanye West’s filing will be reviewed by Wisconsin Elections Commission staffers, who will make a recommendation to the state’s bipartisan elections board on whether he should be on the presidential ballot in November.
(AllHipHop News) The man accused of shooting at Lil Wayne’s bus in 2015 has been sentenced to seven years in jail as part of a plea deal.
Jimmy Winfrey has pleaded guilty to two counts of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, according to new legal papers.
As part of the deal, prosecutors have dropped a slew of other charges, including four violations of the RICO Act and Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the first degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
The new sentence drastically reduced the 10-year prison stint he was faced with back in 2015.
Although Winfrey also got credit for time served and is due to be released soon, his lawyer Steve Sadow said there’s an ongoing issue with an unrelated outstanding warrants case.
Sadow also explained Winfrey entered a special kind of guilty plea where his client still maintains his innocence.
As part of the sentence, he also has to pay $100,000 in restitution to Alvin Lewis, the bus driver.
He previously sued Young Thug, Birdman, rapper Peewee Roscoe, Cash Money Records and Young Money Records bosses over the incident.
(AllHipHop News) The rollout of Cardi B’s “Wap” featuring Megan Thee Stallion has sparked six days of heated conversations online. Fans are calling the record a female empowerment anthem, while critics are deriding the explicit content of the song.
Cardi B tweeted that she could not believe conservatives, like right-wing commentator Ben Shapiro, were upset about “Wap.” Meanwhile, Megan took a more direct shot at male naysayers by comparing her record-breaking collaboration with Cardi to “Slob on My Knob” by Tear Da Club Up Thugs.
I can’t believe conservatives soo mad about WAP. https://t.co/R9vBknfek8
— Cardi B (@iamcardib) August 10, 2020
“Lol dudes will scream ‘slob on my knob’ word for word and crying [about] WAP bye lil boy,” posted Megan. Many people assumed her message was a response to CeeLo Green’s recent criticism of women in Hip Hop creating “adult content” and engaging in “salacious gesturing.”
In addition, Doja Cat shared her thoughts on the puritanical backlash to Cardi and Megan’s “Wap” track. The “Say So” performer tweeted, “People from the [1940s] jumped in a time machine to come leave dumb ass comments about WAP being too vulgar. Shut the f*ck up.”
Numerous social media users and media personalities have pointed out that Hip Hop and other music genres have been inundated with sexually-explicit content for decades. Rap acts like 2 Live Crew, Too $hort, Lil Kim, Cam’ron, 50 Cent, Akinyele, Lil Wayne, Trina, Ludacris, Ying Yang Twins, Khia, and Plies all created tunes with sex-filled lyrics.
Cardi B even subtly shouted out Lil Kim on Twitter by posting a line from the Queen Bee’s “Big Momma Thang” off the 1996 album Hard Core. Cardi tweeted, “A wise woman once said ‘I used to be scared of the d*ck now I throw lips on that sh*t handle it like a real b*tch’ and I lived up to that.”

(AllHipHop News) Christopher “CJ” Wallace continues to shine a light on his father’s legacy. The 23-year-old son of Faith Evans and the late Christopher “The Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace is set to present a new album featuring reimagined versions of Biggie’s records.
Ready to Dance will be a melding of Hip Hop and House. Musicians, vocalists, producers, and deejays worked on the Wallace estate-approved project. “Big Poppa (House Mix)” is the first single off Ready To Dance. The track was co-produced by CJ Wallace, Jonathan Hay, Sarah Rush, and Willie Mack.
“This process has been an enlightening wake-up call and an adulting experience for me. We always force ourselves to think bigger and more creatively about my Dad,” says CJ Wallace. “When it came to his music, it was the same thing, not using vocals, but really thinking about his spirit and the emotional connection that his music gives to his fans.”
CJ adds, “Ready to Dance allows us to create a new foundation for experiencing his music and other legendary musicians. This is what Frank White is about, cross-genre collaboration with artists, musicians, and producers to reimage the past for a new generation.”
A legacy reborn.#Cannabis4Creativity#FrankWhite94 pic.twitter.com/xkWd2mIrR9
— Think Big (@ComeThinkBig) April 6, 2019
In 2019, CJ Wallace paid homage to his father with the announcement of the Frank White Creative Blend cannabis brand. Prior to his death in 1997, The Notorious B.I.G. often referred to himself as Frank White, a character from the film King of New York.
Last year also saw producer Jonathan Hay honor Hip Hop legends Eric B. & Rakim by creating a jazz rendition of the duo’s seminal album Follow The Leader. Hay’s version of Eric B and Rakim’s masterpiece led Billboard‘s Jazz Album chart for four weeks.
(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has repeatedly expressed her admiration for Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. The “Wap” hitmaker referenced Queen Bey multiple times on her 3x-Platinum debut album Invasion of Privacy.
Beyoncé also served as inspiration for Cardi’s upcoming sophomore studio LP. In a new cover story for Elle, the Bardi Gang leader discussed the direction she is looking to take her next musical project.
“My music is always going to make a woman feel like a bad b*tch. When you make a woman feel like she’s the baddest b*tch in the room, to me, that’s female empowerment,” said Cardi. “But this album is going to be really different. Of course, it’s going to have my Lemonade moments, my personal relationship moments.”
View this post on Instagram
Lemonade is widely considered a modern-day classic. Beyoncé’s second “visual album” explored themes such as infidelity, feminism, liberation, and generational trauma. It won the Grammy Award for Best Urban Contemporary Album.
The Elle article also featured Cardi talking about her relationship with Offset, American politics, Breonna Taylor, competition in Hip Hop, and cancel culture. When it comes to the topic of being “canceled” by her critics, she made it clear they will not run her out of the industry.
“Ain’t no way that I’m going to quit. I don’t give a f*ck if the whole world picks on me. I don’t give a f*ck if people make up lies about me every single day. I want to make it really clear that nobody can ever make me quit,” declared Cardi.

(AllHipHop News) 2020 has definitely been a breakout year for Jack Harlow. The Kentucky native saw his single “Whats Poppin” peak at #2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. A remix of the hit included contributions from DaBaby, Tory Lanez, and Lil Wayne.
Harlow is also one of the twelve artists chosen for this year’s XXL Freshman Class cover. He joins Lil Uzi Vert as the second act under the Generation Now label to make the magazine’s annual issue that highlights rising rappers.
Generation Now is owned by DJ Drama, Don Cannon, and Lake Show. Its roster also includes Seddy Hendrinx, Killumantii, and Carvena. The Atlantic Records-backed indie imprint is celebrating Harlow’s selection as an XXL Freshman.

Don Cannon adds, “Our label is the home of who and what’s next. We continue to strive to be the culture creators, innovators, and game-changers in the music industry. Our roster is exactly that.”
The 2020 XXL Freshman Class also features NLE Choppa, Mulatto, Lil Keed, Chika, Polo G, Lil Tjay, Fivio Foreign, Calboy, Rod Wave, Baby Keem, and 24kGoldn. The late Pop Smoke earned special posthumous recognition from the publication as well.

(AllHipHop News) Earlier this week, Nas announced he is dropping music on August 21. The New York City representative revealed the news with a 41-second social media teaser featuring Hit-Boy.
It turns out Hit-Boy is not just providing tracks for the upcoming release from Nas. The beatmaker is credited as an executive producer for the project. He says, “August 21st will be a day to remember.”
— Hit-Boy (@Hit_Boy) August 10, 2020
Besides a release date and Hit-Boy earning an EP credit, very few details about Nas’s next body of work have been confirmed. It is not even clear at this point if the project is an LP or an EP.
Both men have a history of creating joint efforts with other musicians. Nas was part of The Firm supergroup in 1997, and the Queens emcee made Distant Relatives with Damian Marley.
Hit-Boy and Dom Kennedy released the collaborative project, Courtesy of Half-A-Mil, in 2017. He also teamed with SOB X RBE for 2019’s Family Not a Group.

(AllHipHop News) Many television watchers consider The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air one of the greatest sitcoms of the 1990s. A reboot of the Will Smith-led series is in the works.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Smith is partnering with Morgan Cooper to bring the beloved show back as a drama. The new Bel-Air is said to be inspired by Cooper’s 2019 fan-made, viral YouTube video.
Plus, Cooper will serve as a co-writer, director, and co-executive producer for the full-length version of Bel-Air. Streaming services such as Peacock, Netflix, and HBO Max are reportedly bidding on the program.
In 2016, Will Smith expressed that he had no desire to revitalize his lead character role in a Fresh Prince reboot. He told Entertainment Tonight, “If somebody wanted to, I would probably let them, but I have no intention.”
A year prior, there was talk that the rapper/actor’s Overbrook Entertainment was producing a “fish-out-of-water” family sitcom similar to The Fresh Prince. Earlier this year, Hip Hop artist Joyner Lucas helped fueled renewed interest in the original show with his music video for “Will.”
The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired for six seasons on NBC from 1990-1996. The cast also starred James Avery, Janet Hubert, Alfonso Ribeiro, Karyn Parsons, Tatyana Ali, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Ross Bagley.
(AllHipHop News) A young Scottish woman from Bridge of Don, Aberdeen is a real stan.
No. She really is. Unlike the kid in the 2002 song by Eminem, where Dido eerie sang an enchantment of a chorus about a crazy fan that wanted to be just like Slim Shady, this woman has tatted up her body with the art of the emcee.
According to the Scottish Sun, at 34-years-old, Nikki Paterson has almost all of her body covered with images of the Marshall Matters, who she says in her hero.
She started getting inked at 19. Paterson has 47 tats of them 23 are of the rapper, which she hopes is enough to get into the Guinness World Book of Records.
To be considered there were some requirements that she had to fulfill.
“I submitted my photos as proof but they take it a lot more seriously than I first thought…I have to get a dermatologist to count the tattoos and measure them, and the representatives at Guinness World Record essentially have to write a report saying how many I have and where they are,” she continued. “I’ve also got to have two tattoo artists there to verify the same information and it has to be recorded so I can submit the video.”
Paterson said she has been listening to Eminem since she was 14. Ironically (or maybe creepily), she says that she fell in love with him after hearing the song “Stan.”
(AllHipHop News) Tekashi 6ix9ine is colorful. He is bold and brash.
Clearly, he is carefree because we keep seeing him pop up all over the place now that he has been taken off house arrest.
Footage shows the rapper roaming throughout New York City, borough after borough, apparently snubbing his nose at the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods and his many rival rappers.
But there is a bigger threat to his life – the coronavirus is still abounding in the Big Apple.
The rap star was freed because his asthma supposedly put him at a higher risk of catching the coronavirus.
But in footage posted to his social media accounts, 6ix9ine decided to ride the subway without wearing a mask.
According to the MTA website, individuals are required to wear a mask when they ride the train.
While he might have gotten clout with his followers and fans, the MTA officials were not feeling his reckless behavior (no mask and the monkeying around on the seats with his feet propped up).
“Everyone on public transit is required to wear a mask — period. This is dangerous and unacceptable,” MTA spokesman Tim Minton told The New York Post in a statement. “6ix9ine knows personally the risks from COVID-19 and he and his bodyguards should be wearing masks and keeping social distance.”
He may not care what the MTA thinks, but the so-called “King of New York” better be careful.

(AllHipHop News) Snoop Dogg wants to collaborate with rapper Chika on a new country song after expressing his admiration for her work.
The star surprised Chika during an Instagram Live event and began praising her work.

Snoop then asked the 23-year-old if she’d like to team up with him for a song, to which she replied: “About what? It depends. I mean, the answer’s yes, duh. But also, about what?”
“As a writer, me myself, when I’m given a task of writing for someone, I like to study what they’ve written and what they’ve done and what they haven’t done,” Snoop added. “I try to give them a piece of themselves that they’ve never tapped into ’cause they can’t really see themselves as good as I can see them.”

(AllHipHop News) The Veepstakes to determine who will join presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s 2020 presidential ticket is expected to end in the very near future. Many political junkies have narrowed the possible selections down to a handful of people.
California Representative Karen Bass, Illinois Senator Tammy Duckworth, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, former National Security Advisor Susan Rice, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, and California Senator Kamala Harris are said to be on the final shortlist. A last-minute surprise pick is also possible.
While Biden has publicly committed to choosing a woman as his running mate, his campaign has not confirmed the person will be African-American. A collective of over 100 prominent Black men is now calling on the 77-year-old politician from Delaware to tap a Black woman for the position.
Sean “Diddy” Combs, Charlamagne Tha God, Michael Bennett, Ben Crump, Chris Paul, Michael Eric Dyson, Mysonne, Timbaland, Ty Dolla $ign, Nick Cannon, Doug E. Fresh, Van Jones, and others signed the #WinWithBlackWomen letter. Their statement was released in solidarity with the more than 700 Black women who signed a letter calling for a Black woman Vice President.
Read the signed #WinWithBlackWomen statement below:
As someone who has said throughout the campaign that VP Joe Biden needs to choose a Black woman VP, the urgency for that pick has gone from something that SHOULD happen to something that HAS to happen. It disgusts us that Black women are not just being vetted in this VP process but unfairly criticized and scrutinized.
Was Joe Biden ever labeled “too ambitious” because he ran for president three times? Should President Obama not have made him the VP because he had to worry about his “loyalty” when he clearly had AMBITION to be president himself? Why does Senator Kamala Harris have to show remorse for questioning Biden’s previous stance on integrated busing during a democratic primary debate?
Have Democratic Party leaders, allies, or donors ever required Joe Biden to show remorse for the 1986 or 1988 Anti Drug Abuse bills, which established mandatory minimum sentencing and subsequently crack-cocaine sentencing disparities, and by his own admission, led to mass incarceration? What about the 1994 Crime Bill? Let’s be clear about the kind of remorse and reckoning that matters in 2020 when the Black community is still suffering the consequences for these oppressive measures. So, Black women are the only ones required to stay in their place and to show remorse for even questioning their own oppression?
For too long Black women have been asked to do everything from rally the troops to risk their lives for the Democratic Party with no acknowledgment, no respect, no visibility, and certainly not enough support. More than 700 Black women signed on to a letter demanding a Black woman VP. And we, black men, stand in solidarity with them.
Failing to select a Black woman in 2020 means you will lose the election. We don’t want to choose between the lesser of two evils and we don’t want to vote for the devil we know versus the devil we don’t because we are tired of voting for devils—period.’

(AllHipHop News) Chicago native Vic Mensa ended his self-imposed exile from the spotlight to perform for the 2020 Lollapalooza virtual event. For his set, Mensa debuted a new record titled “No More Teardrops.”
The “No More Teardrops” single will also appear on a forthcoming Reprise compilation project from Roc Nation. Reprise is described as a label-curated collection of songs that is comprised of tracks by multiple artists.
One main objective of Reprise is to bring awareness to social justice issues. According to a press release, a portion of the proceeds from the project will go to funding organizations that support victims of police brutality, hate crimes, and other violations of civil rights.
“No More Teardrops” represents Vic Mensa’s return to Hip Hop-focused music. Previously, the 27-year-old Savemoney collective member fronted the alternative band known as 93Punx. The group dropped a self-titled album in 2019.
(AllHipHop News) Is Escobar season ready to return? Nas caught his fans’ attention this week when he tweeted about new music coming out on August 21.
The Queens-bred emcee posted a 41-second trailer on his Twitter page which contained footage of the Hip Hop icon and producer Hit-Boy. His tweet included the text, “8.21 #HitBoyOnTheBeats.”
In the teaser, Nas said, “I’ve been trying to do this with this man for years.” At the moment, he has not confirmed whether his work with Hit-Boy is for an EP or a full-length project.

Nas’s last studio album was 2018’s Nasir which was produced entirely by Kanye West. That 7-track effort was presented as part of the “Wyoming Sessions” releases that included Pusha T’s Daytona, West’s Ye, West & Kid Cudi’s Kids See Ghosts, and Teyana Taylor’s K.T.S.E. Last year, saw the arrival of the Nas compilation The Lost Tapes 2.
Hit-Boy’s discography consists of collaborative projects with Dom Kennedy (Courtesy of Half-A-Mil) and SOB X RBE (Family Not a Group). The Grammy-winning beatmaker has also produced for Jay-Z, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, and many more.
(AllHipHop News) “You know you that b*tch when you cause all this conversation,” sang Beyoncé on her hit “Formation.” At the moment, there is a lot of discussion about Cardi B and her new sexually-explicit record “Wap.”
The Megan Thee Stallion-assisted song sits at #1 on the iTunes chart, and the single’s music video is consistently racking up millions of views on YouTube. Cardi and Megan now find themselves facing the same puritanical-inspired backlash as past rap acts like 2 Live Crew, Sir Mix-a-Lot, Akinyele, and Lil Kim.
Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro slammed “Wap” on his show while reading the lyrics from the song. The 36-year-old podcast host could be heard saying, “Yeah, you effing with some wet ass p-word, p-word is female genitalia… And it gets significantly, significantly more vulgar, like a lot more vulgar.”
ladies please contain your excitement https://t.co/e8Lr5Np8yD
— jordan (@JordanUhl) August 10, 2020
“Ben Shapiro” and “p-word” started trending on Twitter yesterday. Most of the negative reactions online were focused on The Daily Wire founder censoring himself, his apparent antagonism towards women expressing their sexuality, and the hypocrisy of him claiming to be an advocate for freedom of speech.
Meme makers then began editing Shapiro’s clip into the actual “Wap” song and music video. For example, DJ iMarkkeyz, the producer who created the viral “Coronavirus” song which sampled Cardi B’s voice, presented his own remix featuring Shapiro.
https://twitter.com/iMarkkeyz/status/1292982535392309248
After all of the attention directed at his review of “Wap,” Shapiro then jumped on Twitter to further explain his criticism of the record. He initially attempted to reply with sarcasm about the feminism movement, but then he tried to offer medical advice for Cardi and Megan.
“As I also discussed on the show, my only real concern is that the women involved — who apparently require a ‘bucket and a mop’ — get the medical care they require. My doctor wife’s differential diagnosis: bacterial vaginosis, yeast infection, or trichomonis [sic],” tweeted Shapiro.
However, an actual doctor responded to Shapiro with his own professional input. Dr. Daniel Grossman tweeted, “In my medical opinion, it’s normal—important even—for women to have a WAP. Vaginal lubrication is common & orgasm experience depends on the individual. We should not shame women who have WAP. If you have questions about your WAP please call a gynecologist, not a radio show host.”

Also, it’s “trichomonas.”
If you can’t spell it, you probably shouldn’t diagnose it.

Cardi B is known to go back-and-forth with conservatives on social media (like her viral “dog walk” takedown of Tomi Lahren in 2019), but this time the Bronx rapper simply tweeted, “I can’t believe conservatives soo mad about WAP.” She later added, “People think that WAP is so nasty and freaky except people from Florida …..Trina, Khia, Jackie O used to go in in.”
However, numerous other Twitter users took the opportunity to make fun of Shapiro’s pearl-clutching outrage by spreading memes about his judgment of the “Wap” content. In one tweet, @revrrlewis even compared the right-wing pundit to the Waylon Smithers character from The Simpsons.
