A$AP Rocky Will Not Fight Assault Conviction In Sweden

(AllHipHop News) A$AP Rocky won’t be appealing his misdemeanor assault conviction in Sweden.

The rapper’s lawyer, Slobodan Jovicic, has told the country’s TT news agency his client doesn’t have the energy to appeal the verdict, handed down last month following a June 30 street fight in Stockholm.

Rocky, real name Rakim Mayers, spent a month behind bars in the city as lawmakers investigated the incident. He maintained he was acting in self-defense after a man attacked his bodyguard.

The rap star released a statement following the verdict, revealing he was “disappointed” by the judge’s decision.

He and his two co-defendants were ordered to pay over $22,000 in restitution and legal fees to the 19-year-old victim, Mustafa Jafari, and handed “conditional sentences”.

All three face time behind bars if they commit a similar offense in Sweden.

Lil Nas X Says He Came Out As Gay To Spite The Haters

(AllHipHop News) Lil Nas X felt compelled to reveal his sexuality as his summer hit “Old Town Road” was breaking chart records because he grew up hating everything about homosexuality and wanted to change that for young fans.

The rapper came out earlier this summer and in a new episode of HBO talk show The Shop: Uninterrupted, which debuted on Tuesday night (03Sep19) in America, he explains why he couldn’t hide his secret any longer.

“It’s not like I was being forced,” he said. “It’s just like knowing growing up, I’m growing up to hate this s##t… Homosexuality, gay people…

“If, for me, the cool dude with the song on top of everything, to say this at any other time, I’m doing this for attention… But if you’re doing this while you’re at the top, you know it’s for real. It’s showing it doesn’t really matter, I guess.”

The show also featured comedian Kevin Hart, who stepped down as the host of this year’s Oscars after homophobic posts were pulled from his Twitter account from a decade ago.

The show was taped before Hart’s weekend car crash, which put the funnyman in the hospital with severe back injuries.

It’s that family atmosphere,” said Johnny Venus about the star-studded #ROTD3 recording sessions that took place in his hometown. “Everybody was just going from room to room, working on whatever. Any room you stepped in, any song you heard, you were like, ‘Oh, is Space on that? Is Space? Oh, rock with me, let’s do it. Let’s get it on.'”

Tekashi 6ix9ine’s Cooperation Helps As He Prepares To Testify In Upcoming Trial

The “GUMMO” rapper caught a break in court this week after a judge barred parts of his videos as part of an upcoming trial.

(AllHipHop News) Tekashi 6ix9ine’s cooperation with the feds in a sweeping RICO case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods seems to be paying off.

The rapper is set to take the stand against two of his former associates who are about to go on trial after being rounded up and charged back in November of 2018.

Anthony “Harv” Ellison is accused of kidnapping 6ix9ine and robbing him for over $750,000 in jewels and $15,000 in cash.

Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack is one of almost a dozen men rounded up and charged for raising hell around New York City by shooting at their rivals in broad daylight, robbing rival gang members and dealing drugs.

Lawyers for both men were hoping to attack 6ix9ine’s credibility and they planned on using some of the disgraced rapper’s videos, but a judge has severely limited what jurors will be able to see.

The judge overseeing the case banned the misogynistic parts of 6ix9ine’s videos/songs “GUMMO,” “BILLY” and “KOODA.”

According to the judge, the trash talk about women is not relevant to the case, but the rest of the yrics as well as the rapper’s videos, offer up glimpses into the inner-workings of the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.

The judge also barred any references to Tekashi 6ix9ine’s 2013 conviction for putting a nude, 14-year-old girl in one of his rap videos.

Tekashi 6ix9ine, born Daniel Hernandez, was facing dozens of years in prison after pleading to multiple gun, racketeering and drug charges.

He decided to cooperate with authorities in order to get a lighter sentence.

With the exception of Harv Ellison and Nuke, every member of 6ix9ine’s crew including his manager Shotti, has pleaded guilty in the RICO case.

Justine Skye Talks Going Topless On Her ‘Bare With Me’ EP Cover

(AllHipHop News) Before the infamous “Nipplegate” incident during the Super Bowl XXXVIII halftime show, Janet Jackson shocked the world in 1993 with a Rolling Stone cover which featured her then-boyfriend Rene Elizondo covering her bare breasts with his hands. Rising R&B singer Justine Skye somewhat channeled Janet’s iconic image for her new body of work.

Skye spoke to Ebro Darden on Apple Music’s Beats 1 about her recently released Bare With Me EP. Darden asked the 24-year-old Brooklynite about going topless for the project’s main artwork.

“I don’t think it’s raunchy. I think it’s pretty tasteful,” said Skye. “Honestly, I think I was getting ready to go to an event and one of my photographers, Cooper Sebastian – he was just there. He’s really tight with taking Polaroids, so I was just like, ‘Take this photo real quick. My makeup looks dope.'”

She continued, “I took that like six months ago. I knew I was getting ready to put music out. I didn’t know when, but I knew I was working. So I was like, ‘Maybe I want to use this as artwork.’ I feel like everything I’ve done has been so overly produced since I was 17. Since I got into this industry professionally, everything has been so overly produced… Looking at my peers, they’re literally spending zero dollars on this… It’s super-organic. That’s how I was before I got into the system.”

The “Maybe” performer also told Ebro the picture represents her saying: “bare with me, give me another chance.” Plus, the Beats 1 interview included Justine Skye discussing the aftermath of publicly accusing former boyfriend Sheck Wes of abusing her during their relationship as well as GoldLink putting her on the cover of his Diaspora album.

Bizzy Bone: 21 Savage Apologized To Layzie Bone Following Feud With Migos

(AllHipHop News) Do you remember when Migos and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony started beefing back in 2018? The “Bad and Boujee” hitmakers and the legendary “Tha Crossroads” rhymers had issues with each other over who could claim the title of “Greatest Rap Group Of All Time.”

The feud included BTNH’s Layzie Bone and Migos’ Offset going back-and-forth on social media. Layzie even dropped a diss record directed at the Atlanta trio. Their frequent collaborator 21 Savage also jumped into the situation after sharing his thoughts on Layzie Bone’s “Let Me Go Migo” record.

Fast forward to September 2019, Bizzy Bone did an interview with the Murder Master Music Show where he talked about the BTNH/Migos bad blood. Bizzy claimed Layzie Bone actually received a concession from Savage.

“I heard that 21 Savage apologized to Layzie over the phone. That’s the only thing I heard about the situation. I don’t even think it is one of those things you can really chop it up about,” stated Bizzy. “Well, he apologized for saying he was gonna f*ck his wife, and you still said, ”N*gga can’t pull out no [millions].’ That’s the last thing you said to the world: ‘You n*ggas are old, you old ass n*ggas!’ Wait a minute b*tch, I’m just about as old as you, b*tch. We look the same!”

The 42-year-old emcee continued. “I’m just saying these small little nitpicking things. When you’re golden and you’re legendary, those kinda words just bounce off of you. It’s just something they are saying now. They called Rakim ‘The God.’ How can you cheapen that? But you can cheapen the word ‘legend’ by adding ‘old head’ on it, and then when a little bit of ‘broke’ to it, when you add a little bit of money, that’s worse than a f*cking rap diss.”

He added, “The only thing you can do is come back with $100,000 worth of jewelry on and pristine camera work and a pristine project that you get behind. That’s the only thing you can do after that. After someone says some sh*t like that and attacks your Hip Hop savvy, you can’t do nothing else but turn – what we call – all the way the f*ck up, my n*gga. You done tried to dig me a grave that I’m supposed to just hop into, taking the higher road. F*ck that!”

Kevin Hart Reportedly Suffered Three Spinal Fractures From Car Accident

(AllHipHop News) On September 1, superstar comedian Kevin Hart was involved in a car accident in California that caused him to be taken to the hospital. Apparently, Hart underwent serious surgery to repair three fractures to his spine.

TMZ reports:

Sources with direct knowledge tell us Kevin’s Sunday night surgery involved fusing the fractures … 2 of them in the thoracic section of his spine, and 1 in the lumbar. Although the procedure was a success, Kevin is still going through hell. We’re told he has to be heavily medicated because the pain is just that intense.

According to the entertainment website, doctors expect the 40-year-old Philadelphia native to make a full recovery. He will require months of physical rehabilitation.

Earlier this week, Eniko Parrish was asked how her husband is doing after the Plymouth Barracuda he was riding in careened off Mulholland Highway. Parrish stated, “He’s going to be just fine.”

A man identified as Jared Black was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Black’s fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman, was also in the car. The driver was transferred to a local medical facility and purportedly suffered a “major back” injury as well. Broxterman did not have to be treated, according to reports.

The two rap stars were joined by NFL Hall of Famers, Chicago police officers, and local community leaders.

About 70 teenagers from the city, between the ages of 13-19, met with Rapsody, Mensa, officers from the 10th District, 8-time Pro Bowl safety Aeneas Williams, Super Bowl champion Orlando Pace, and former season tackle leader John Randle. French Montana Says His Son Could Lead The U.S. Better Than Trump

(AllHipHop News) French Montana has insisted his 10-year-old son could run the U.S. more effectively than President Donald Trump.

The Moroccan-born rapper opened up on fatherhood and his tough upbringing in a wide-ranging interview for Esquire Middle East.

And Montana, who shares Kruz with ex-wife Deen Kharbouch, insisted his son, who is enjoying a much more privileged upbringing than his own, could easily run the country one day.

“No. My son will have better opportunities in his life than millions of other kids. I’m proud of that, and I’m proud that he doesn’t have to grow up the way I did. It’s like two different worlds,” French Montana told the publication.

“He’s more protected by his mother, and she is more protective than my mother was. When my father left, my mother couldn’t teach me nothing, Kruz’s mother will raise him right. She’s like a tiger mom – but in a classy way,” French added.

And when asked if he could grow up to be The Leader of the Free World, he laughed: “Of course! In fact, he could probably do a better job than the current one is doing right now!”

The 34-year-old moved to the U.S. as a teenager from Morocco, with his parents and siblings, but was abandoned by his father a few years later, which left Montana, real name Karim Kharbouch, the man of the house aged 17.

And he insisted he works hard so his son won’t ever have to experience anything similar.

“I work to make sure that he never has to go through what I went through,” French Montana said. “I worked on the street; I got shot; I struggled; I watched my mother struggle – and knowing that the work I do means that he doesn’t have to have worry about stuff like that, that makes me comfortable. I’ll always make sure of that.”

Lil Karma Explains Why He Gave Up Basketball For Hip-Hop

Lil Karma is next up out of New Jersey.

They always say, no matter how great your numbers are, if you’re selling tickets to your show, you’re doing something right.

The 20-year-old has performed his last eight shows with a capacity of 2,000 to 3,000 people, bringing his one-of-a-kind sound and energy to the stage.

With his most recent single “Lonely” (dedicated to his late friend Jaleel), he displays vulnerability, strength, and authenticity.

https://www.instagram.com/p/B1wXIAFgbdn

AllHipHop: For those who don’t know, who is Lil Karma?

Lil Karma: I’m from Orange, New Jersey. I started making music 3 years ago. I don’t really have a genre, I’m just lit. [chuckles]

AllHipHop: How would you describe your sound?

Lil Karma: My sound is amazing. [whistles] My sound is literally amazing, I can’t even describe my sound to you. You just gotta really hear it and listen to the music.

AllHipHop: Talk about dedicating “Lonely” to Jaleel.

Lil Karma: That’s my friend who passed away, Rest In Peace. I dedicated that to Jaleel because he was the first person to really support me. He was the first person to really, really show me that love musically-wise. Because I was shy when I first started singing and rapping. I was shy to show people my songs.

I didn’t want to show people my songs because I thought they would think it was not good, etc. I had a lot of problems with that stuff, I was too shy. But then Jaleel was just feeling it so much that every day, we were lit. He supported me. He rocked with me so I dedicated that song to him, because I lost him. I was supposed to link him for a video shoot, but it didn’t end up happening because he had to work. Then it happened.

AllHipHop: How did he pass away?

Lil Karma: Vehicle homicide. That was back home. Rest In Peace to him, he’s the reason all these blessings are coming my way.

AllHipHop: In “Grind” you say “mama always said shoot for the stars,” what do parents think now?

Lil Karma: My mom is proud. She’s proud of me. They all in now. It took a little minute for them to get all in, because I used to play basketball. Pretty soon, it happened.

AllHipHop: Talk about trading the hoop dreams for the rap.

Lil Karma: It wasn’t even really tough. It was way more hurtful quitting basketball than the decisions I made after what happened. Basically I loved basketball, but I accepted the fact that I can’t be down because it’s not panning out the way I wanted it to pan out. So instead, I just kept focus and said “okay if this ain’t the one, I’ma try something else.” And music was there, it was destined. Literally destined.

AllHipHop: What can we expect music-wise?

Lil Karma: Music-wise, oh my god. I got 40 unreleased songs right now, fully mixed and mastered. It’s about to get lit this year. I got 2 mixtapes coming up and an album. Right now, I just shot 2 videos for 2 singles I’m about to drop at the end of this month.

AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?

Lil Karma: Biggie, #1. I’m a huge Biggie Smalls fan, Rest In Peace. I don’t really listen to a lot of people though… Lil Uzi. I’ll give lil Uzi. Who else is lit? I don’t really listen to a lot of music like that anymore, that’s why I’m having a hard time. I know the songs but I don’t listen to them like I’m a huge fan or something. Let me throw out some names” Biggie Smalls, Lil Uzi, PnB Rock. I used to f##k with him heavy, he’s lit. Damn… Lil Baby and Gunna.

AllHipHop: What’s your favorite Biggie Song?

Lil Karma: It’s between “Suicidal Thoughts” and “Sky’s the Limit.”

Man Charged Over Mac Miller’s Death

(AllHipHop News) A man in California accused of selling Mac Miller a fatal dose of drugs has been charged in the rapper’s death.

Almost a year ago, the Pittsburgh rap star overdosed and died at the age of 26 from a combination of fentanyl-laced pills and cocaine.

One of three people accused of supplying Mac Miller with a lethal dose of drugs has been arrested in charged in relation to his death.

According to investigators, a 28-year-old man named Cameron James Pettit was taken into custody this morning (September 4).

Police say Pettit, an unnamed prostitute, and another person provided Mac with the lethal cocktail of drugs found in his system.

A coroner disclosed the rapper overdosed after consuming a mixture of fentanyl and cocaine in his San Fernando Valley home.

Police also found a stash of drugs in the home, including Adderall, Xanax, Oxycodone, and Hydrocodone, which he bought from Pettit, the prostitute in the other unnamed individual.

“Fentanyl disguised as a genuine pharmaceutical is a killer — which is being proven every day in America,” said United States Attorney Nick Hanna. “Drugs laced with cheap and potent fentanyl are increasingly common, and we owe it to the victims and their families to aggressively target the drug dealers that cause these overdose deaths.”

So far, Pettit is the only person charged in Mac Miller’s death.
