Pooh Shiesty Lays His Brother TeeDa P To Rest, Vows To Take Care Of His Son

This week was somber for critically acclaimed rapper Pooh Sheisty. Unfortunately, the Memphis bred rapper had to lay his older brother to rest.

TeeDa P, born Tarrance Henderson, TeeDa P died on Feb. 28th, after a battle with brain cancer at the age of 27.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday (March 10th), where Pooh and his family said their final goodbyes to TeeDa P.

In a touching message earlier today (March 13th), Pooh Shiesty vowed to take care of his brother’s young son, and ensure the rest of their family’s well-being.

“Instead of crashing I’m doing everything for you, no worries yo son mines now you know I got our momma In good hands finally got ha situated like we always wanted to,” Pooh Shiesty said revealing their mother was taking TeeDa P’s death hard.

The young rapper pledged to keep his mother motivated, even though he is still grieving himself.

“I gotta keep ha motivated put ha I’m a new car I really don’t know what to do s### f##### me up I’m trying keep s### together but I got nun left you was my all ain’t no Pooh Shiesty without tee da p u named me though I couldn’t hurt nomo after treday💔💔💔💔💔💔💔,” Pooh Shiesty revealed.

TeeDa P was doing well as an upcoming artist like his younger brother. Earlier this year, TeeDa P dropped his album Halftime.

A variety of rappers offered up support to Pooh Shiesty, who is arguably the hottest artist signed to Gucci Mane’s The New 1017 record label.

Drake, who is one of the most popular rappers in the world, sent a voice message to Pooh Shiesty when he found out about the death of TeeDa P.

“I just want to send you my condolences, man…and just let you know that the cycle of life is unfair. It just hits us so hard. Money can’t change that… Something I just went through too with one of my friends.”

Famous Dex Robbed At Gunpoint, Thieves Make Off A Fortune

Rapper Famous Dex was robbed earlier this week in Los Angeles and relieved of a pricey watch and thousands of dollars in cash.

The incident went down on Wednesday (March 10th) in the San Fernando Valley, when Dex claims he went to meet up with a friend.

Famous Dex told police he borrowed a $50,000 watch from an unknown person for a video shoot.

When he left to head to the video shoot, Famous Dex claims men followed him, stopped his vehicle with guns drawn, and took the watch as well as thousands of dollars in cash that he was carrying.

So far, the police have no suspects. and Dex doesn’t seem to be too worried. He has already copped about $150,000 in new jewelry from celebrity jeweler Pete Marco.

But the incident is eerily similar to another high-profile robbery, which took place in Beverly Hills last week.

Shay Belhassen, who owns DBS Diamonds, was eating lunch when gunman rolled up on him and stole his $500,000 Richard Mille watch in broad daylight.

Snoop Dogg Calls Out UFC Boss Dana White And Dares Him To Accept His $2 Million Bet On Jake Paul

Snoop will always put his money where his mouth is.

He proved that recently by making a $2 million bet with the UFC head honcho Dana White on the Jake Paul vs. Ben Askren battle.

Dana White simply doesn’t believe in Paul’s ability. But that is ok.

The 24-year-old YouTuber, who has already won two boxing matches, has other folk holding him down.

First it was Zab Judah, who argued with White on Mike Tyson’s podcast, “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson.” White got so worked up after Judah explained why the young buck has a chance, that he offered up a $1 million purse to anyone who wants to stand with the kid.

Snoop recently took to social media and said, “Hey Dana White, I see you got faith in your boy right? Going up against my guy Jake.”

“You say you got a million? You’re the CEO of UFC, man. You’ve got more than a million. Put up two million and we’ll match it. … Come on Dana, whatchu waiting on?

“Your money good. Yeah, I got Jake. Fight night. That’s my guy, that’s my dog in the fight. Two million. Holla at me, Dana White.”

With a little over a month left before the April 17th fight, we wonder who else will step up.

Jennifer Lopez And Alex Rodriguez Call It Quits

Superstar actress/singer J.Lo is single again.

Earlier tonight, news broke that J.Lo, 51, and ex-New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez, 45, have split up, and called off their wedding.

The couple had been together for a total of four years, and they were engaged for two of them.

Although J-Rod came close to getting married, the wedding was ultimately postponed two different times amidst rumors that Rodriguez was having an affair with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy, according to Page Six.

Madison LeCroy denied having an affair with A-Rod, who may have alluded to the breakup on Instagram earlier today (March 12th) while he was chilling on a Yacht in Miami.

“He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic,” a source told Page Six.

Ironically, the movie J.Lo is working on in the D.R. is titled “Shotgun Wedding.”

And, calling off the relationship may be the easy part for the uber-rich couple, who have several investments together. The couple purchased a $32.5 million mansion, a few months into the global pandemic.

The pandemic was also one of the reasons the couple had to cancel their wedding plans abroad last summer. The stress took a toll on the couple, who ended up in couple’s therapy during the pandemic as well.

Still, the split comes as a shock since A-Rod was with J.Lo during her show at the 2020 Super Bowl as well as her performance at President Joe Biden’s inauguration.

J. Lo has been married or engaged a total of five times.

In 1997, she was briefly married to a restaurateur named Ojani Noa, who gave her a $100,000 diamond engagement ring.

After a brief romance with Sean “Diddy” Combs that ended in a shooting that sent rapper Shyne to prison for almost 10 years, J. Lo married her backup dancer, Cris Judd in 2001.

That marriage imploded after less than a year and shortly after her divorce to Judd was finalized, J.Lo. became engaged to actor Ben Affleck in 2002, birthing the name “Bennifer.”

The couple split in 2004, paving the way for her marriage to singer Marc Anthony, just six months after he split from Affleck.

J.Lo and Marc Anthony held it down for almost 10 years. They welcomed their twins Emme Maribel Muniz and Maximilian David Muniz in February of 2008. The couple eventually split in 2011.

J. Lo started dating Alex Rodriguez in 2017. He popped the question to her in March of 2019, during a romantic outing to the Bahamas.

Two years later, they have decided to call it quits.

Queen Latifah Received Her Vaccine…Will You?

Rapper Queen Latifah just received her first coronavirus vaccine dose and is encouraging others to take the step toward helping control the deadly sickness.

On Tuesday night at the public Essex County COVID Vaccination Center, a day after filming on the set of her hit CBS show “The Equalizer,” the Newark native expressed why she is decided to get the shot.

“Every time I go to work, I feel like I’m responsible for hundreds of peoples’ lives,” the “Ladies First” trailblazer said.

“That’s why I’m here, and maybe something people out there are thinking about,” she said.

“We hear a lot of things in the media,” Queen Latifah said. “they’re frightening but to see someone in a hospital on a ventilator is much more frightening than what’s going to happen getting a shot in the arm that’s here to help our bodies fight this thing.”

Mayor Ras Baraka, who many consider Hip-Hop’s mayor, noted that since there have been over 900 people from the city who have died from the coronavirus, that having an effective roll-out was important.

And it seems that they are on to a good start.

His city has administered 7,997 total doses which totals a third of Essex County. There is still work to do considering that there are over 280,000 people in the largest city in New Jersey.

Queen Latifah has to stay healthy, especially since her show “The Equalizer” has been picked up for another season.

Loaded Lux Drops Diss Record — No One is Spared (But Two Respond Swiftly)

There used to be a sentiment that battle rappers can’t rhyme on beat. Well, that of course is not based on history. Some of Hip-Hop’s greatest battles have happened on track.

LL Cool J was known for bombing on people through song. Roxanne Shanté made a whole career doing that. 50 Cent, KRS-One, and Tupac set the industry aflame when they decided to set it off on their enemies with lyrical warfare.

And no one can forget about how nutso the Drake vs. Meek Mill or Drake vs. Pusha T diss tracks were.

But now, there is an energy of battle rap that has stepped out of the sport and has given the rap world something that can activate all of our toxic competitive urgings. Check out the latest heat from some of your favorite battle rap emcees.

LOADED LUX, CHILLA JONES, B-DOT

When Loaded Lux dropped “G.O.D.” in the wee midnight hours, no one could imagine the way the song would shake up the battle rap world.

“Play, bang … Point made … That the truth don’t get old but it’s what you needs (knees) like joint pain … Hospital nurse view … Talkers got to reverse a verbal … Every last name gets a walker. No, not Herschel … The earth, moon, and then the son. That’s the one … That they deem eternal … I burn through … Who they think bright, its daylight (Daylyt) who they gotta turn to … The science goes on inside us … Like me, you should take it personal … Cause these jeans don’t come with socks on with the thermal … Popcorn on the kernel … Back like y’all was checking for DNA before them Ancestry.com commercials … Your fans gotta inner stand … Like wait, yeah, in the stands … Y’all want me to take a stand but then want me to take a Stan … This a love tap when them hubs cap, ain’t your lady’s van … Your favorite brand MCM hammer, mentally crazy man.”

Therein the stellar diss track, where he took shots at all the bubbling heads in the culture, Boston rapper Chilla Jones got hit with a couple of bullets:

“For me to make a Chilla … better chill for I make chilli … I’m the only goat on this hill, Billy … Just a killer, I’m Achilles … Really.”

Shortly afterward, the master scheme responded with his answer, “RE: LOADED.”

“Machete blade … hit him … he bleeds blood … I guess I got to split beloved to be loved … You can’t better this with a better diss … You jumped on a current wave but your flow it don’t ever switch …”

“I’m trying to be positive and let him live … As far as rankings go minus one and I am done being negative … Got to remember when everyone was scheming … from 2012 to 2016 … I am the reason.”

And moments later … so did West Coast rapper B-Dot (oftentimes referred to as Baby Lux) with his “Grey Area” song.

“It’s the Loaded One, yeah the Loaded One that never shows his gun … Fans follow him to the freedom-land like he Moses, huh?… I’m about to put this gas underground like petroleum … Think he God-sent to this … (gunshot) … Now he the holy one … You ain’t the only one trying to rap riddles about ancient scribes … Papi’s its levels … trying to stare at the sun, I’m making you blind.”

He clapped back upon hearing this clear snipe at him.

“Smack on my phone to negotiate … I said ‘The only way you gon get me on the card if it say Happy Father’s Day’ … Come on, ay … N##### know what’s up … Dog’s a pup … B. Dot’ll take a L every round … That’s (L)ittle (L)oaded (L)ux (Lol) … You forgot ‘cause of stardom? I’m the heart of the problem? Your upstairs club, where? The rooftop started in Harlem … I’m a proven vet … Mob ties the only dots we recognize (Um) … Start with Mook and Rex, I mean, with all due respect.”

Do you think that the two newer class emcees got the best of the man that many consider one of the Mt. Rushmore of battle rap? Or … do you think that Lux is Lux … and no one is touching him.

DJ Mister Cee’s Sexuality Sparks Debate After Admitting His Attraction To Trans Women

When DJ Mister Cee’s sexuality was outed by a transexual woman named B#### Winehouse in 2013, he was embarrassed and still in the closet.

He had been in the same situation with another transwoman in 2011, but that was also swept under the rug. But these secrets, and the arrests that came from these secrets, caused him to resign from his 20-year job at the biggest Hip-Hop radio station in the world, Hot 97.

He communicated that as a man of Caribbean descent rooted in Hip-Hop culture, he was afraid of how this would impact his relationship with the people around him that he loved.

“The decision that I made to open up about my sexuality has been the most difficult thing that I’ve had to make in my life,” the former Hot 97 DJ confessed. “This was the time for me to do it personally and professionally…

“Or me I felt worried about how my family would be affected, how my coworkers and my friends and even my fans would be affected by this decision. In this Hip-Hop community of ours, it is not cool to be gay. It’s not cool to be bisexual.”

“I felt that if I was to actually be honest by myself, nobody would actually want to deal with me anymore. But the more that I kept lying and the more I kept trying to deceive you and myself, the more that I was being more closed in and not being who I really am.”

During the P.S.A., produced by Hot 97, he sounded completely hurt but slowly but surely developing the courage to speak his truth … a truth that people have been taunting him with for years.

For example, prior to the 2013 incident, Wendy Williams received a note from a person who saw Mister Cee going to meet a transexual friend.

However, in 2021, he no longer is being shamed for his sexual preference. In talking to rapper Maino on his blog, Mister Cee was asked if he was gay.

“You know what I do. My story is well documented,” Cee said in a far more upbeat fashion than eight years ago. The Brooklyn rapper tried to get clarity and asked, “You like trannies, though?

“That’s what I do you… you know what I do,” Cee reiterated.

Then he was asked that since he likes “trannies,” a derogatory word short for transvestite or transexual —terms used to define a person born male but either dresses as a woman or is in transitioning to become a woman, does he consider himself gay.

“I’ve answered that question way back when I got arrested in 2011 and 2013. I consider myself trisexual. I’ll try anything,” he jokes.

Mister Cee, the man who is intimately connected to getting the Notorious B.I.G. signed, has a voice that is crucial to the safety of LGBTQ people of Caribbean descent.

According to Human Rights Watch, people who are not CIS or heteronormative experience abuse of a high level, and sexual bias allows officials to turn a blind eye.

“LGBT Jamaicans are vulnerable to both physical and sexual violence and many live in constant fear,” the organization noted. “They are taunted, threatened, fired from their jobs, thrown out of their homes, or worse: beaten, stoned, raped, or killed.”

Graeme Reid, LGBT rights director at Human Rights Watch, went even deeper, “In the past decade the Jamaican police have taken some steps to address the scourge of homophobic violence, but clearly these steps are not enough.”

“The authorities from the prime minister on down need to call a halt to the violence and discrimination, prosecute anyone responsible, and get homophobic laws off the books.”

Like Malik Yoba, who confessed his attraction to trans-women a few years ago, Mr. Cee’s ability to clearly articulate his sexuality is freeing. Just comparatively look at this interview and his last … he clearly has shaken that demon that so many LGBTQ walk with … SHAME.

CyHi Talks High-Speed Chase, ‘BARCODE’ Web-series & Close Friendship With Kanye West

CyHi deserves all his flowers. Known for his elite lyricism, out-of-the-box metaphors, and spitfire flow, the Stone Mountain, Georgia native was discovered by Kanye West back in 2010, eventually becoming a pillar for Ye’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.

With a standout feature on Kanye’s “So Appalled” off My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Cyhi returned to unleash his debut studio album called No Dope On Sundays in 2017.

If there’s one thing you can count on from Cyhi, it’s real hip-hop with substance… something we can all appreciate in today’s oversaturated music industry.

But while the rest of the world was chillin’ on any given day last month, Cyhi experienced a near-death incident that he deems an assassination attempt. Going 140 mph in the high-speed chase as his assailants fired shots at his vehicle, Cyhi ended up crashing his car into a pole and tree which left him with minor injuries.

Beyond the music, Cyhi has been extremely passionate in turning his efforts into the film and television world, with hopes to screenwrite and eventually write and star in his own film.

AllHipHop: First off, you good?

Cyhi: Absolutely. We made it. We blessed. We recovering, I got a few stitches, but more so we’re good.

AllHipHop: I know you were going 140 mph. What was going through your head?

Cyhi: Survival. It was an unfortunate event. Things like that happen to the best of rappers, you don’t even have to be the worst one. You can be a positive one and it still seems to find you when you’re in the industry. Understanding Atlanta is a hot spot for everyone right now, so you gotta be careful. Not even Atlanta, from the East Coast to the West Coast, rapping is a rough sport.

AllHipHop: You feel like it was targeted for you?

Cyhi: I can’t say because I’m not into nothing to be targeted. In a nutshell, Black men are targets period. That’s the biggest thing of being in the music industry: being safe. Understanding your environment, where you at. Especially in the pandemic, that’s an unfortunate thing that Atlanta’s the only place that’s open and I was there.

AllHipHop: You were there the whole time?

Cyhi: For the most part, I was moving from LA. I was in Wyoming, different places.

AllHipHop: Wyoming for G.O.O.D Music?

Cyhi: Nah, but I wouldn’t mind at this point. I move around with my guys so I’m everywhere. Out the country, in the country, wherever. For the most part, that space is so hot right now for every ambitious young man. That’s why it’s good to be out here in LA, do the opposite.

AllHipHop: LA’s shut down still.

Cyhi: I like places that’s shut down. I been somewhere that it’s not and it’s chaos. A little shutdown is good for me, I’m a homebody anyway.

AllHipHop: Are you an introvert?

Cyhi: I wouldn’t say that. I’m more cruise control so I don’t have to do too much. If it doesn’t involve me or doesn’t involve money, something to feed my family or see my family, I could stay out the way. It doesn’t take too much to please me.

AllHipHop: How you feeling in 2021 with this rap s###? You’ve always been a well-respected lyricist.

Cyhi: I feel good, it’s almost like a reset in music. Not just in music, but the universe in so many words. It’s a fresh start. We don’t know when venues are gonna open back up, when touring’s gonna start. I’m being very creative and stockpiling my ammunition to be able to put out a large body of work in the next 12 to 18 months, try to get into some films. Script writing, venture off and add other things to my catalog and portfolio.

AllHipHop: What does it mean to be the “Black Superhero”?

Cyhi: We all are. We got this street thing about us that has to be upheld, when we’re way more than gladiators. A lot of times, we get pitted to be just warriors when you have intelects, doctors, lawyers, actors, ball players, fathers, teachers. We more than grab a strap, sell some dope, throw on some chains. Nah, we real deal saving and changing lives. Hip hop has done that for a lot of young brothers as well, that’s the whole theory of “Black Superhero.” Myself, I feel like that everyday.

AllHipHop: You say Cyhi the GOAT…

Cyhi: N*ggas know, the real ones know. The people who study the artform on the low, I’m one of their favorites.

AllHipHop: What inspired your musical, BARCODE?

Cyhi: That’s my official sizzle. I look at it like a television show without a TV in so many words. It’s a Jimmy Kimmel mixed with In Living Color, SNL vibe with Tiny Desk in so many words. The pandemic was here, what can I do differently? I don’t want to shoot videos so a big thing of mine had been musicals. My last album was gonna be the Hardway Musical: not the Broadway, the Hardway. That’s a teaser of what’s to come with my visuals, I’m looking to transition into film, scoring, and screenwriting.

AllHipHop: Is this the first time you’ve written a script?

Cyhi: I used to write for plays in high school and middle school, but this is my first time officially doing it on my own on screen and having the 8K cameras. The real film crew, that was pretty cool.

AllHipHop: Meaning behind the prison imagery?

Cyhi: It’s a lot of different parallels to it. One, I felt mentally encaged like most people are that are creative. You can’t go on stage, you can’t go out and mingle with people because the world’s shut down. I seen the basketball players in the bubble and they felt that way. A lot of people figuring out ways to still get out of this quarantine, so me too. What can I do that mentally puts me in that place? My imagination was yeah, let’s do it. Put all these creatives and influencers in this film, almost like we’re stuck in here and can’t get out.

Ideas you can’t get out, so we did it from inside. It’s an initiative for prison reform as well. I have a friend I’m working on getting out now, his name is Greg Styles. He been there 18 years so I put BARCODE together to reflect that and understand there are talented people behind bars. They’re real people, regular people like us that made mistakes. I have this initiative called the Jail Initiative: Judging Another Innocent Life. That’s the whole theme of my show.

AllHipHop: So many people are locked up for s### they didn’t do.

Cyhi: You know me, even if you did or didn’t do it: the time should actually fit the crime. In this situation, he’s done more than his fair share.

AllHipHop: What was his charge?

Cyhi: Armed robbery. He wouldn’t tell on his brother they said was with him, so they hit both of them with it. Different circumstances like that, kill 2 birds with one stone.

AllHipHop: That’s why people love Bobby Shmurda.

Cyhi: He didn’t switch up, he held it down. He was responsible, that’s how you’re supposed to do it though. You don’t complain. You don’t tell on nobody or do anything to get out of it. He even held it down for his other crew to be able to come home soon, that’s honorable.

AllHipHop: Who do you listen to, artist-wise?

Cyhi: To be honest, I don’t really listen to rap. I hear rap, but I don’t listen to it. I listen to myself mostly. I hear new songs out, I’m a person who hears it one time. Some artists are so good that you’ll find yourself sounding like ‘em if you listen to them too long. Oh that’s what he on? That’s what he sounds like? He sounds dope. My top new artists would be Kodak, I love Kodak.

AllHipHop: I love Kodak but he’s canceled.

Cyhi: Damn, for real? These guys getting on young, super young. When you look at dudes that got on young like Nas, he was 19, 20, 21. Back in our favorite rapper days, we couldn’t follow ‘em around 24/7. They probably said a lot of things, done a lot of things that could’ve canceled them but you only heard from on an interview or BET, MTV, and it was over with. I think it calls for a little forgiveness, but he’s dope. A lot of young artists I like: Rod Wave, DaBaby, the list goes on. I go through a lot of them, those are the new guys I listen to.

AllHipHop: Have you ever been canceled?

Cyhi: I don’t believe in the canceled, that’s a bunch of bots that galvanize a group of people and try to put out a certain rhetoric on a certain concept. When you’re being 24 hours a day due to social media, you gotta be careful what you say and put out.

AllHipHop: I’ve been wanting to ask you this, you have writing credit on “Sicko Mode”!

Cyhi: I have to break this down for us as a culture. When you’ve already accomplished everything you could accomplish in rap, in your division — say if it’s football, you go to the Super Bowl and you’re representing that full division. That division is hip hop. If you’re putting up against country, pop, rap, alternative, jazz, those people are in the studio with multiple creators. They got different musicians, writers, vocalists.

AllHipHop: You were in there strictly to contribute to the writing?

Cyhi: Yeah, ‘cause Travis is shooting for the top spot. He’s shooting for the Grammys or the Pulitzers and whatever great awards you can get when you’re a hell of a musician. Hollywood Walk of Fame. Some dudes want to get some money. Let me get some money, yada yada, rap, take care of my family. You get to a level where you have enough money that the respect of your peers and the fans of how good your work is and where their value it, is when you take the whole genre of hip hop to help you speak and give out your message. When you’re on the Grammy stage, you can compete with all these other people who have multiple musicians, multiple thinkers in the room with them. I don’t look at it as I’m writing it, me and Trav spent 6 months together before we even picked up a pen.

AllHipHop: What are those hangout sessions like?

Cyhi: Oh, Travis it. Let me tell you that, he’s lit. He’s a young, real successful superstar. He has his way around where he wants to live, how he wants to drive his car. We went to the games, we went to the mall. We did regular things, but on a high level.

AllHipHop: Where at?

Cyhi: We’re in Texas. We did some there. We did a few months here, then we did a few months in Hawaii.

AllHipHop: How did y’all get so close?

Cyhi: Through Ye. When he first came in, that’s around the time I came in. We built that bond there. He’s super cool, we do a lot of work together. They help me.

AllHipHop: Did anything change when Travis blew up?

Cyhi: Nah, he’s just lit. He more lit, got more Dior shoes, Nikes, and everything else. [laughs] McDonald’s commercials. He got a child now so that occupies more of his time but when I first met him, he was super raw. Stuck in the studio, super lit. Jump on the speakers.

AllHipHop: You get the exclusive Cactus when they come out?

Cyhi: I mean, I can. I haven’t been on top of him but I know everybody been down his throat with ‘em: “I need those!” But anytime I want them, I can get on the phone and call.

AllHipHop: What lines in “Sicko Mode” did you do?

Cyhi: I can’t get that deep into it, because it’s not really that deep. But that’s him. Like me and you, we going back and forth. “Astronaut. Oh! Have a not. No don’t say have a not, afterthought. That’s the one!” I’m not Lil Bow Wow’ing nobody. No disrespect.

AllHipHop: How much were y’all smoking?

Cyhi: One thing about it, back when that was happening, it was a plethora of et cetera. That’s part of the environment at this point. Especially in LA, it’s not taboo or nothing. It’s smokey, it’s drinky, it’s all the above.

AllHipHop: How lit were y’all getting?

Cyhi: I don’t really get that lit because I gotta make sure the songs get done, but everybody else is lit. Sheck Wes lit lit, he’s jumping off the balcony into the pool. All that, they’re definitely rockstars.

CyHi
CyHi

AllHipHop: Were you there for “Mo Bamba”?

Cyhi: Nah I wasn’t there for that, but most of ASTROWORLD I was there for for sure. I’m there for a lot of projects y’all probably don’t know about. Definitely a lot of Ye projects. Watch The Throne, a lot of people don’t know I was there for that.

AllHipHop: How do they help you?

Cyhi: Hook writing, songwriting, producing. Travis doesn’t produce that much no more, but he’s one of the best producers ever. He mixes his own vocals. Before Mike Dean even touched it, that’s Trav. People don’t understand when Trav first got on, he was an engineer. He’d carry his computer around and record dudes, then he started producing and got into more the rap side. For the most part, he’s one of the geniuses in the music industry.

AllHipHop: Fondest memory from the Watch The Throne days?

Cyhi: These aren’t young guys when I met them, they were more seasoned vets. They got their wives. I don’t know if they’re married or girlfriend at the time, but they’re in serious relationships. Trav was a young guy, but Ye and Hov were more seasoned. When I first met Jay and they’re in the room together, they said “we loved your verse on ‘So Appalled.” You first get your Jesus piece, I was there with both of the builders of the Roc. Those moments were special but that’s more when I was an outsider. Now I’m an insider, so it’s family. I appreciate them more than idolize, it’s a mutual respect. When I first got there, I was starstruck. This is lit! My favorite artist.

AllHipHop: Have they checked on you?

Cyhi: Yeah, absolutely. Everybody somewhat checked on me. That was a beautiful thing, It let me know that I’ve been a great person to a lot of people.

AllHipHop: How are you mentally after that experience?

Cyhi: Definitely it’s traumatic. There’s things you do think about on the side, but you try not to let it control your day. Growing up being young, coming up in an urban environment, sad to say, it’s not your first rodeo. It should never be your rodeo, unless you’re the military. If you think about guys in my city, Chicago, it’s really worse to live there then to be looking for an IED on the ground in Afghanistan or some craziness.

AllHipHop: My girl Saint Bodhi was saying growing up in South Central LA, she’s seen so much she’s numb to it.

Cyhi: Especially young girls, their boyfriends or their friends they grew up with, they gangbanging. You got to show up to a funeral a year later, that hurts. A lot of cultures don’t have to experience that but for some reason, we do. That’s the thing I try to speak on in my music and deter them from that, give them more options. I always said when I grew up, I wanted to have a song so powerful that nggas loading their guns to ride on some nggas, and I say something in the song and it’s like “man, f### it.” [turns steering wheel] Versus insinuating it, some dudes make music to make me like nah, f### that! We going no matter where they at. My s### is: damn man ,it ain’t really that deep.

AllHipHop: What did your song “Elephant In The Room” do?

Cyhi: That was an album me and Ye started work on, but a lot of times he grows past a lot of different things. That was going to be our Dr. Dre/Eminem album. We got a lot of stuff in the stash so anytime we want to do something creative, it’s no problem. It takes a few weeks or a few months to put together at the most, and it’ll be done. When your trailblazing, you don’t want to be that dude to step in front of that. It’s bigger than me. My thing is, let him create his history and create his narrative, paint his picture how he wants to paint his. I’m great, I’m super taken care of. My best friend makes sure I’m good. Everybody around him is where they need to be in life, none of us can complain.

AllHipHop: CyHi in the film world, what goals do you have?

Cyhi: I want to go blockbuster. I named my company EGOT: Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony. That’s the name of my new company, EGOT Records. That’s what I aspire to get.

AllHipHop: Anything else you’d like to let us know?

Cyhi: I have 3 albums I’m putting out in the next 18 months. I was going to roll them out but at this point, might as well give the world something. I was trying to wait to see if the world would open back up and go on tour, but I’m gonna start rolling them out soon. BARCODE is what I’m working on now, a lot of songs I’m premiering on a live level. Most people do the live performances after they put their album out. But mines, I’m doing opposite. I’m doing the live version of the records first, so by the time you hear the real version, you gon’ be like “wow, I didn’t know it sounded like this.” That’s what BARCODE is.

AllHipHop: Is this through G.O.O.D. or independent?

Cyhi: Independent through EGOT Records. We have a lot of people inquiring about partnering with us. You’ll be hearing a lot about it.

AllHipHop: Major labels?

Cyhi: It depends on where it goes. Right now in this environment, but you not being able to tour and everything you might want to get more of your music. When the world opens back up, you’ll obviously want to have some partners come in and make it what it is.

AllHipHop: I feel like you have a game plan.

Cyhi: Absolutely, I got a trick or two up my sleeve.

AllHipHop: Have you always had a game plan?

Cyhi: Yeah but a lot of times, I let God take me where he wants. Now I have a full vision of what I want to do since the world slowed down. I had to slow down, the industry slowed down, gave me a chance to really plan and forecast what I want to do for the next two years.

The Weeknd Vows To Boycott Future Grammy Shows Over Snub

The Weeknd is so ticked off about his Grammys snub he has instructed his label bosses to stop submitting his music for consideration.

Music fans were stunned when the singer failed to pick up a single nod for music’s big night, despite breaking records and winning acclaim for his album After Hours and single “Blinding Lights” in 2020.

Following his snub, an angry The Weeknd took to social media to attack Grammys bosses, stating: “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…”

He later admitted he was “blindsided” by the snub, and now he has chosen to boycott the Recording Academy’s awards shows indefinitely.

“I will no longer allow my label to submit my music to the Grammys… because of the secret committees,” he told the New York Times.

Meanwhile, the singer’s manager, Wassim Slaiby, admitted he and his label bosses still haven’t been able to get a straight answer as to why The Weeknd was left off the nominations list: “We were many weeks and dozens of calls in with the Grammy team around Abel’s (The Weeknd) performance right up to the day of nominations being announced. We were scratching our heads in confusion and wanted answers.”

As a result of the snub, the pop star pulled out of performing at the Grammys.

He’s not the only star taking aim at the Grammys bosses this week – new dad Zayn Malik also lashed out after his music failed to make the nominations list.

The former One Direction star scolded Recording Academy officials via social media, writing: “F### the grammys and everyone associated. Unless you shake hands and send gifts, there’s no nomination considerations. Next year I’ll send you a basket of confectionary.”

Fugitive Foogiano Finally Caught In Memphis After Months On The Run

The police have finally caught up with rap star Foogiano, who decided to go on the run in December of 2020.

According to reports, Foogiano was busted in Memphis, Tennessee where he was lodged into the Shelby County Jail on Thursday (March 11th).

Arrest records show that Foogiano was charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Foogiano is wanted in Barrow County, Georgia, for skipping town over an arrest on December 6th, 2020, when he was allegedly caught with a Glock 19 handgun with a laser beam.

The rapper posted $50,000 bail on December 14th and was ordered to wear an ankle monitor. But shortly after his release, police said Foogiano melted off the tracking device and went on the run.

During his time as a fugitive, Foogiano, who is signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 Eskimo imprint, dropped new music, and frequently posted on his social media account with his girlfriend Renni Rucci.

The storyline could make it to the upcoming season of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,” as rumors swirl regarding Renni Rucci’s participation in the show.

MF Doom Estate Auctioning Off Augmented Reality NFT

It has been half a year since the transitioning of the iconic MF DOOM.

While the world found out about his death on New Year’s Eve, his family revealed that it was actually October of 2020 he left terra firma.

It has recently been revealed that last October the “Cookie Chips” rapper also launched an augmented reality NFT by auctioning some autographed AR masks, becoming the first rapper to successfully operate in this space.

Now, the MF DOOM NFT Collectors are planning to auction some of these exclusive pieces to benefit the lyricist’s estate.

This revolutionary move into NFT, particularly in concert with the MF DOOM estate, could change wealth-building models.

“MF DOOM passed on Oct 31st, 2020, one day following the close of the original Illust Space beta auction making this one of MF DOOM’s final collaborations. Due to blockchain’s immutable and decentralized ledger technology, all of MF DOOM’s AR NFT collection will be available for future generations of fans and collectors, creating a new model for royalties and posthumous creative control legacies,” a rep for the rapper’s estate said in a statement.

The auction started on Thursday, March 11th, and will end on Friday, March 12th at 10PM PST.

10% of total proceeds go to MF DOOM’s estate.

A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Breakup With Ella Bands Plays Out On Social Media

It appears A Boogie wit da Hoodie (born Artist Dubose) and Ella Bands (born Ella Rodriguez) have called it quits as a couple. Boogie used his Instagram Story to reveal that he is no longer in a relationship with the mother of his children.

“As much as I don’t wanna admit it, I don’t deserve @slaybyella_. You have a beautiful long life ahead of you and I don’t wanna be the reason you’re not happy [crying face emoji]. Be free. Go be what you truly want to be,” wrote Boogie.

Bands responded to the “Mood Swings” rhymer with her own IG account. She reposted Boogie’s message and added, “Lmao we already talked about this in real life and it was my idea. [I don’t know] why he coming on Instagram with it like he setting me free. Boy, go to hell [face with rolling eyes emoji].”

Apparently, some social media users began to wonder if cheating played a part in the two splitting up. Bands decided to address those infidelity rumors on Twitter. The Slay By Ella eyelash entrepreneur even offered praise for her ex-boyfriend.

“@ArtistHBTL is a good person. He’s been good to me and I’m thankful for everything you’ve ever done for me. This has nothing to do with cheating, he’s changed a lot for me and put in a lot of effort for us to be together. We just don’t see eye to eye anymore,” tweeted Bands.

Even though they both confirmed the breakup, A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Ella Bands still have photos of their family posted on their respective Instagram pages. The two Bronx natives welcomed a daughter named Melody Valentine Dubose on Valentine’s Day 2017. They also have a son named Artist Jr. who was born on June 27, 2020.

DJ Mister Cee Talks To Maino About Being Attracted To Trans Women

Hip Hop radio personality Calvin “Mister Cee” LeBrun recently sat down with Jermaine “Maino” Coleman for the New York emcee’s Kitchen Talk Podcast. The conversation included the former Hot 97 deejay, also known as The Finisher, discussing his attraction to trans women.

In 2013, Mister Cee was arrested for allegedly soliciting an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute for sex. Rumors began circulating that the cop was a man which led to Cee denying he was attracted to men, but he eventually acknowledged that he is attracted to women who were assigned male at birth.

A post shared by DJ MISTER CEE (@djmistercee)

“My story’s well-documented. I just wanted to know how you got down,” said Mister Cee while speaking with Maino. When asked if he likes trans women, Cee responded, “That’s what I do. You know what I do.”

Cee was then questioned if he identifies himself as a gay man. The 54-year-old Big Daddy Kane and The Notorious B.I.G. associate went on to state that he has only received oral sex from trans women.

“I’ve answered that question way back when I got arrested in 2011 and 2013,” said Mister Cee. “I consider myself try-sexual. I’ll try anything. Not anything. Literally, not anything, but the point I’m making is is that the only thing I’ve done with transexuals is that I got head from a transexual. I’ve never had sex. I’ve never penetrated.”

Cardi B & Megan Thee Stallion To Perform “WAP” Live For The First Time At 2021 Grammys?

“WAP” instantly broke the internet when the song arrived last August. Cardi B’s sex-positive single featuring Megan Thee Stallion had their fans dancing in the streets and caused conservatives to clutch their pearls.

All of the positive and negative reactions to “WAP” helped the track debut at #1 on the Hot 100 chart and spend another three nonconsecutive weeks at the summit. However, the two rappers have yet to perform the record live together.

Could this weekend be the first time the world gets to see Cardi and Meg present a live performance of “WAP”?  The Recording Academy announced both women will take the stage at the same time for the 2021 Grammy ceremony.

Sunday could end up being a big night for Megan Thee Stallion. The Houston Hottie is up for four Grammys – Best New Artist as well as Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Record of the Year for “Savage.”

The 63rd Annual Grammy Awards are scheduled to air Sunday, March 14 at 8 pm ET on the CBS network. 24-time winner Beyoncé received the most nominations this year with nine. Roddy Ricch, Taylor Swift, and Dua Lipa each earned six nods.
