(AllHipHop News) Jatavia “JT” Johnson is free. One half of the City Girls had been behind bars since June 2018 for credit card fraud. She’s now out and reunited with Caresha “Yung Miami” Brownlee.
In celebration of her newfound freedom, the Quality Control Music duo dropped a new song titled “JT First Day Out” under the City Girls’ name. The South Florida rapper rhymes about arriving right on time for the “season change.”
Yung Miami continued to advance the City Girls brand while JT was locked up. The group scored two platinum, Top 40 hits over the last ten months with “Act Up” and “Twerk” featuring Cardi B. Both tracks appear on the 2018 album Girl Code.
The music video for “Twerk” topped 100 million views on YouTube. Vocals from the City Girls were also used on Drake’s #1 smash “In My Feelings.”
As far as a new project from JT and Yung Miami, their fans can apparently look for a body of work next year. Last month, Miami said, “We’re gonna save it for 2020 when JT comes home. When she comes home, we’ll work on another album that we’re gonna drop, hopefully for Spring Break.”

(AllHipHop News) The BET network finally honored Kimberly “Lil Kim” Jones. The rap icon was recognized with the I Am Hip Hop Award at the 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Lil Kim also hit the stage inside Atlanta’s Cobb Energy Center. She reunited with her Junior M.A.F.I.A. comrade Lil Cease for the special set that included performances of “Player’s Anthem” and “Crush on You.”
In addition, fellow Hip Hop stars Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, and Swizz Beatz praised the Queen Bee for her three-decade career in a video package. Maybach Music Group founder Rick Ross presented Kim with the I Am Hip Hop Award trophy.
Lil Kim is scheduled to release her official fifth studio album, 9, on October 11. The Brooklyn representative recruited Rick Ross, Musiq Soulchild, Rich The Kid, O.T. Genasis, and City Girls for the forthcoming project.
(AllHipHop Features) It’s to no surprise that in it’s 14th year, the BET Hip Hop Awards has remained the prominent Hip Hop platform on television as it continues to celebrate the culture’s legends, deliver electrifying performances, and give memorable cyphers.
This year, Hip Hop fans celebrated as the biggest night in the genre returned to Atlanta, Georgia.
The host of the evening, comedian-turned-singer, Lil Duval, took us to Florida with all the shenanigans during his performance of “City Boy”. The performance was both intriguing and entertaining as it featured twerking, bonnets, and a wild wheel chair ride.
Megan Thee Stallion did an opening number that featured her summer smash, “Hot Girl Summer” as well as a performance of “Cash Sh*t” with Da Baby.
Saweetie paid homage to Petey Pablo as she was joined on stage by the North Carolina star as they performed an epic mash up of “My Type” and “Freek A Leek” (which the former samples).
Rapsody performed an ode to black women with her performance of “Nina”.
Rick Ross brought out T-Pain as he took Hip Hop fans down memory lane and performed a medley of his hits including their collaboration, “The Boss”.
Da Baby stayed busy throughout the night as he also performed “Babysitter” with Offset and “Baby” with Lil Baby.
Chance The Rapper fans were probably expecting “Hot Shower”, but what they received was a chance to witness Chance’s love and devotion to his wife with his performance of “Sun Come Down.”
Before all of the show action, AllHipHop got a chance to chat with Blac Youngsta about his forthcoming album, street law, Tekashi 6ix9ine, and the night’s honoree, Lil Kim.
AllHipHop: Blac Youngsta, what are you working on currently?
Blac Youngsta: I got my album. I’ve been working on my album for about a year now and two months. Like I was telling her; I like making long and forever lasting music. I don’t like rushing things out. Nowadays my peers are coming so fast. They are coming faster and faster. The difference between them and me is they’re doing music; I’m doing business. So I just like taking my time with the sh*t.
AllHipHop: A lot of people live by an honor code, by street law. How do you feel about the whole Tekashi 6ix9ine situation?
Blac Youngsta: I mean I feel like if everything I’ve been hearing is true, I ain’t f*cking with it. I come from the streets. You could shoot my MF…. you could kill one of my homeboys in front of me, and I wouldn’t even tell you who did it. That’s where I come from. Them my rules, my laws, but he probably comes from somewhere else and those are his laws. His business is his business, my business is my business.
AllHipHop: Lil Kim is being honored. What’s your favorite Lil Kim feature, record, or Lil Kim moment?
Blac Youngsta: I don’t know the exact song, but I do love Lil Kim. I feel like she’s amazing. I feel like she’s freaky. I always use to wonder when I would hear her music was she really freaky like that, or was she just talking.
(AllHipHop News) The Pastor mentoring Kanye West wants fans to know the rapper is serious about his conversion to Christianity.
According to Pastor Adam Tyson, Kanye’s new mission to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a publicity stunt.
Lately, Pastor Tyson has been mentoring Kanye behind the scenes, to help him get deeper into his Christian faith.
Over the past few weeks, Pastor Tyson has been spotted on stage next to Kanye during his popular “Sunday Service.”
During an appearance on The Pure Flix Podcast, Pastor Tyson revealed Kanye sought him out because he needed “discipleship.”
“The first time I talked to him the first Sunday in June, he told me, ‘I got radically saved five weeks ago.’ I said, ‘Kanye, what happened five weeks ago?’ He said, ‘I was just under the weight of my sin and I was being convicted that I was running from God, and I knew I needed to make things right, so I came to Christ. I came out of darkness into the light.’”
Pastor Tyson conveyed a message to those skeptical and cynical about Kanye’s newfound dedication to Christ: “Judge not, that ye be not judged.”
“The fruit that I’m seeing is he’s no longer continuing in some of the sin patterns that he was before he came to Christ,” Tyson told The Pure Flix Podcast host Billy Hallowell. “Right now, every day, he is living and walking with God, so from what I can tell, there’s no reason for me not to encourage that and be a part of that.”
(AllHipHop News) Will Smith is well aware that his children are “very different human beings” to him, due to the advancements made in the technology industry during their lives.
The 50-year-old actor stars as an assassin in the new film “Gemini Man,” which sees him trying to work out who is targeting him before discovering it’s a cloned 23-year-old version of himself.
The movie showcases some incredible digital technology – with the younger Will entirely digitally created rather than being a de-aged version of the actor.
And it’s these advances that the screen star believes sets the younger generation apart from their older peers.
Reflecting on how much of himself he sees in his older children – specifically 26-year-old Trey from his first marriage and 21-year-old Jaden, who he shares with wife Jada – Will told Entertainment Tonight:
“They both have a lot of my qualities and the qualities of their mothers. They’re both good mixes. But what I’m noticing is how different this generation is from our generation. It’s one of the biggest generation gaps in history.
“Technology has created a gigantic generation gap. They are growing up in a different world than we grew up in. So they are very different human beings than me.”
Reflecting on his marriage or “life partnership,”.as he and Jada prefer to call it, he admitted things are stronger between the pair because of the struggles they have overcome together.
“There’s a certain amount of suffering you have to be willing to endure, and most people cannot endure the pain that it takes to actually love somebody in their wild youth and imperfections,” he explained. “It’s easy to love somebody if they do everything you want if they act how you want them to act and they don’t do anything you don’t want them to do.
“But, you know, Jada and I, we’ve weathered some storms and that’s really for me, the only way that you can get to the other side.”
(AllHipHop Features) The 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards pulled out a number of Hip Hop’s veterans and rising stars as it returned to Atlanta, Georgia.
The biggest night in Hip Hop took place at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre with Lil Duval as the host.
This year’s show saw performances from Rick Ross, Chance The Rapper, Da Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, YBN Cordae & Anderson Paak, Saweetie, Lil Jon & Petey Pablo, Rapsody, Lil Baby, Offset and the living legend Lil Kim.

For the first time, longtime sponsor Sprite even held a live rap battle during the show that featured notable Ultimate Rap League battle rappers DNA, Geechi Gotti, T-Top, and Shotgun Suge.
Before all of the action, AllHipHop caught up with Casanova on the Sprite green carpet to discuss his new album, ‘Behind These Scars,’ and his favorite females in Hip Hop.
AllHipHop: We are at the 2019 BET Hip Hip Awards; we have [your] ‘Behind These Scars’ [album]. Talk to me about that “Faded Pictures” sample.
Casanova: You know what, as soon as I heard the beat, I was like Chris Brown. You gotta respect Joe, so I was like somebody has to do it right. I definitely um, put it together right. I love that song. I tried to stick to myself. I tried not to be to lovey dovey. I tried to put my gun in it give her back shots.
AllHipHop: So for those who haven’t heard the project, what other features are on there, and what can they expect?
Casanova: We got Gunna, Young Thug, Casey, we got Giggs, we got a lot of people on there. What they can expect is just me. I’m kinda giving them just me on the project, and not shooting everybody every second.
AllHipHop: It’s a big year for females in Hip Hop. Who are your favorite females killing it right now?
Casanova: It’s a lot of them. It’s so crazy. Dreezy, Dani Leigh, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Nicki, Lil Kim, all of them.
(AllHipHop News) Kanye West had a “magnetic attraction” to wife Kim Kardashian when the couple first met 10 years before they started dating.
In a new episode of the U.S. docuseries “E! True Hollywood Story,” airing this Sunday, Kim and Kanye get candid about the early days of their romance, with the rapper gushing over his “loving” and “courageous” wife.
“Every time I was around her or I saw her, it was a magnetic attraction to this force of energy,” West says in a clip from the segment. “She was good, pure, happy, loving, brave, courageous, strong.”
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star reveals that her path kept crossing the rapper’s before they began officially dating in 2012.
“We just always kept connecting and coming into each other’s lives,” Kardashian adds. “And, then he invited me to Paris to his fashion show and that’s when it happened. That’s when we started our relationship.
“I was like, ‘S##t! Why didn’t this happen sooner?’ It was just right.”
The pair now shares four children, but the brunette beauty recalls West was initially discouraged from being associated with her.
“Everyone would tell him, ‘You can’t be with her. She’s a reality star. She’s gonna sink your career’,” she recalls. “And, he was just like, ‘But I love her. I don’t care’.

Before the action-packed show, AllHipHop had an opportunity to chat with Rick Ross about his future film endeavors as well as his respect and admiration for Lil Kim.
AllHipHop: What’s next for Ross? I know you are performing tonight, but what else is next?
Rick Ross: Ah man, I’m just enjoying the night, but other than that we gonna get into the film business, double M is going to get into the film business.
AllHipHop: Lil Kim is being honored tonight. What’s your favorite Lil Kim record, moment, or verse?
Rick Ross: Yo, she was the right hand to B.I.G., so I got so many of those. I got so many records, so many verses. And you know B.I.G. was my favorite so, Lil Kim was not just a female, she wasn’t just a black young lady that was incredible. She was a real boss that carried her own weight. After we lost B.I.G. Kim was, and still is significant in the game as ever.
The 2019 BET Hip Hop Awards will air on BET tonight, Tuesday, October 8 at 8:00pm EST.
(AllHipHop News) Lawyers for Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson have reportedly filed a lien over her portion of her late brother’s estate until she pays off debts she owes.
According to legal documents obtained by The Blast, Tyka owes law firm Cozen O’Connor LLP over $100,000 in legal fees for their services, in representing her and dealing with the “Purple Rain” singer’s estate.
Now, in a bid to secure their compensation, the company intends to hold a lien over her portion of the funds left behind by the musician until they are fully reimbursed.
In the papers, it is stated the law firms “intends to hold a lien upon Tyka Nelson’s interest in the Estate of Prince Rogers Nelson, including any right to receive payments, property, proceeds, money or value of any kind, for agreed compensation for such services as were rendered by Cozen O’Connor respecting Tyka Nelson’s interest in the Estate.
“As of this date, the unpaid legal services and costs total $118,280.31 exclusive of any costs of collection. This amount does not include any fees and costs that Cozen O’Connor was awarded by the Court for work that benefitted the Estate.”
A Minnesota judge presiding over Prince’s estate case found Tyka owes $850,000 to three separate law firms working on the estate case and ordered her to settle her debts.
(AllHipHop News) Rap star Tekashi 6ix9ine could be a free man before the end of the year.
A judge will give the rapper his sentence on December 18, 2019 at 10:00 AM.
The rapper’s lawyers asked for expedited sentencing after 6ix9ine cooperated with the government in a RICO case against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods.
The rapper pleaded guilty to various counts including gun possession and drug dealing in the RICO conspiracy case, and he decided to assist the Feds to get a reduced sentence.
(AllHipHop News) Drake is doing damage control after comments his dad Dennis Graham made during an interview with Nick Cannon.
Dennis Graham was recently a special guest on Power 106’s Nick Cannon In The Mornings radio show.
Dennis pretty much through Drake under the bus, claiming his superstar rapper son exaggerated lyrics about his absence from Drizzy’s life as a kid.
‘I talk to him if not every day, then every other day. We really got into a deep conversation about that,” Dennis Graham said. “I said, ‘Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me? Man, this is not cool,” said Dennis.
Dennis claims Drake told him simply playing the role of coming from a broken home, so he can sell more records.
Drake has come forward to clear the air, in an attempt to save his reputation.
“Woke up today so hurt man. My father will say anything to anyone that’s willing to listen to him,” Drake said. “It’s sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that’s the people we are stuck with…every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept.”
(AllHipHop News) Beyonce and Jay-Z have filmed one of their most extravagant music videos yet for a top-secret new song collaboration.
The singer and the rap mogul are working on a fresh track and they reportedly spared no expense while filming a promo to accompany the tune.
“It’s one of her most extravagant and expensive shoots,” an insider told The Sun’s Bizarre column of the music video. “It was mostly filmed in L.A. and has a highly choreographed routine and also a steamy, romantic scene. She is working with some new creatives and is ready to change things up.”
Beyonce and Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, have previously collaborated multiple times.
The husband and wife team has also traveled the world on two joint concert treks – the 2014 On the Run Tour and 2018 OTR II show series sold-out stadiums across the globe.
Hailing from Pasadena, the 22-year-old rapper exploded on the scene with his breakout single “Fast,” which later got a standout remix with Offset and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.
The crazy part is, he was actually a producer to begin with.
It was Mustard who first inspired this notion of creating beats from scratch, Googling the program used and downloading an instructional series for Reason.
Now, he celebrates a new deal with Atlantic Records and released his debut project titled Miscreant.
AllHipHop: For those who don’t know, who is Sueco The Child?
Sueco The Child: Sueco The Child is an artist. Sueco The Child is a renaissance man. Sueco The Child is a free thinker, he’s the beginning of the next evolution in history.
AllHipHop: Why are you the next evolution in history?
Sueco The Child: Because of the way I’m putting everything together. Specifically, with my music, the way it’s being created. I’m a producer at heart. I make music, that was the very first thing before I wrote songs. I mean, I sang growing up. I grew up in the church, but it was always the music and the sounds at the heart of it.
That’s obviously not the case with most artists. To me, the music starts and ends with the sonic quality of it. It needs to sound like ear candy first. Before it has deep profound meaning to it, it needs to just f##king sound good. It’s that attention to detail where people like Travis Scott and Kanye West shine. Back a little further, Dr. Dre. They shine because it’s all sonics first.
AllHipHop: Speaking of, “Fast” has 7 million views on Youtube alone, did you foresee it blowing up like this?
Sueco The Child: I didn’t know it was gonna blow up to this extent, but I knew it was gonna blow up. When I make songs and I think they’re good, I’ll send them to everybody I know. I’ll send them to a lot of girls because girls are the best indicators if the song’s gonna blow up. I sent it to a whole bunch of girls, usually, people will tell me “the song’s cool, it’s nice,” whatever. But this one, every single person calls me instantly and says “this is awesome!”
I’m like “okay, this is gonna do something.” I meditate every single day, then I focus on manifesting things into my life. Visualizing and feeling the feelings of it being there, letting the universe work for me. When I dropped the song, every single day I pictured in my brain it getting a million in a month. Literally 3 weeks in, it got a million. When I dropped it, I saw that Tik Tok was working at the time.
AllHipHop: How much of a role did Tik Tok play in it?
Sueco The Child: That’s the reason it blew up. It was right when “Old Town Road” f##king went super crazy, so I figured Tik Tok is probably gonna be something that helps. In my brain, it wasn’t the thing that was gonna work, but I’m like “hey it might help, who knows?”
AllHipHop: So you actively went on the platform and made a Tik Tok video?
Sueco The Child: The very first video to the song “Fast” was a video Jerell [sitting across the table] made and edited. It was me with a girl and I bust in 2 minutes, “fast 400 on the dash” right? It’s a comedy video. I put it on my Instagram, then I made a Tik Tok and put it on Tik Tok.
One of my friends Lukas Daley (a big Tik Tok influencer) grabbed the audio and started doing his own thing to it. The 6th video he made was these transition type things where he does the slow-mo.
After a week, there were 1,000 videos of kids doing the slow-mo thing to it. Then out of nowhere big Tik Tok people found it and started challenging each other who can do the best one and it blew up.
AllHipHop: Who are your Top 5 artists?
Sueco The Child: My 4 biggest influences are The Weeknd, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Green Day. Since we’re doing 5 and I have to add one more, I’d probably say Kid Cudi. I gain more inspiration from what he did as opposed to actually listening. I listen to Man on the Moon, I had that s##t on repeat all the time. Rap would not be what it is if it wasn’t for Kid Cudi, he’s one of the most influential people for all of rap in the past 10 years.
AllHipHop: Favorite Cudi song?
Sueco The Child: Low key, the intro on Man on the Moon. It has that super crazy dramatic s##t at the end of it, and it just dropped into “Soundtrack 2 My Life.” That s##t’s fire. I’m already working on my next project and I’m finna do something like that where it’s this grand, operatic piece.
(AllHipHop News) Bob Pilon, the brains behind Bono’s “The ONE Campaign,” has signed on to take charge of Meek Mill’s new criminal justice reform group.
Pilon, who spent seven years spearheading the rocker’s anti-poverty organization, is the new president of Meek’s REFORM Alliance.
“Bob Pilon is a living legend, having been a leader for some of the largest and most impactful social justice campaigns on the planet,” said REFORM CEO Van Jones. “The fact that a global powerhouse like Pilon is joining the U.S fight for criminal justice reform is a massive game-changer, all by itself. This is not just a big win for REFORM – but for the entire movement for justice.”
Pilon adds, “I’ve learned that what we really have in America is an injustice system that far too many people are trapped in for reasons that just don’t make sense. I’ve admired REFORM’s commitment to disrupting the criminal justice system, and I’m eager to help amplify awareness and change hearts and minds around our country’s need for comprehensive reform.”
While in jail, he met several inmates who were serving long sentences for ridiculous crimes and he has now made it his mission to shine a light on the issues facing America’s justice system.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Desiigner was a real character and he had a hit song with “Panda,” a song we all knew was unforgettable. But, it seems people have forgotten about ol’ Desiigner…until today! Today, Dee decided to speak up and express that he wants off G.O.O.D. Music, the recording home that Kanye West built.
The sad thing is he misspelled “Label” when he said, “FREE ME FROM THIS LABLE.” Poor guy! He was too trusting and didn’t work hard enough to keep it pushing when things were going sour. He had previously said something like this earlier in the year and nobody heard him. I think the all caps changed things a bit. Hopefully he gets Grammarly.
Lets rock “Panda” for a minute and remember…we once thought he sounded like Future!!
Can anything save his career at this point? Desiigner may just have to head over to a Sunday Service and get his praise on with Rev. Yeezus! Hallelujah!
(AllHipHop Rumors) Beyonce has admitted she cried at the launch of Tyler Perry’s new movie studio in Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Bey, the tears started to flow when she was overwhelmed by its significance for black entertainers.
Tyler Perry opened the studio with a star-studded party attended by Oprah Winfrey, Halle Berry, T.I., Tiffany Haddish, and Will Smith on Saturday.
The day after the bash, Beyonce, who went with her husband Jay-Z revealed she had been in floods of tears at the event, at which Tyler Perry paid tribute to pioneering black entertainers.
“Happy Sunday. Congratulations to Tyler Perry on the opening of his studios,” Beyonce wrote on Instagram. “I could feel our ancestors’ presence. Surrounded by my heroes, I watched Denzel (Washington), Queen Oprah, Spike (Lee), Whoopi (Goldberg), Sir (Sidney) Poitier, Will, Halle, Dame Cicely (Tyson) and our angels John Singleton and Diahann Carroll honored.
