Man Stalking XXXTentacion’s Mom Thinks Rapper Has Been Contacting Him

(AllHipHop News) A man charged with stalking the mother of late rapper XXXTentacion has been ordered to undergo a mental exam to determine whether he is fit to stand trial.

Donavon Banton is accused of attempting to break into Cleopatra Bernard’s Florida home on multiple occasions, including one incident in January, when the 24-year-old allegedly threw a brick through a rear window and smashed the window of a car in her driveway.

He was arrested weeks later when he showed up at the property again and reportedly tried to enter the house, prompting Bernard to call the police.

Banton was found to be in possession of a small ax, a pry bar, and two pairs of gloves and was arrested at the scene on various counts of felony burglary, criminal mischief, and stalking.

He claimed “Sad!” hitmaker XXXTentacion, who was killed in June 2018, had been contacting him through Bernard and sending him “sadistic messages.”

Banton, who has been held behind bars since his arrest, pleaded not guilty to all charges last month, but now the Florida judge overseeing the case has put the criminal proceedings on hold pending the outcome of the suspect’s mental evaluation.

The news emerges shortly after Bernard was granted her request for a restraining order against Banton, who had previously been issued with trespassing warnings by authorities.

Blac Chyna Says Rob Kardashian Is Suicidal Over Child Custody War

(AllHipHop News) Blac Chyna is concerned about her ex Rob Kardashian’s mental state amid their ongoing custody dispute over daughter Dream!

In legal documents obtained by Us Weekly, Chyna questioned Kardashian’s ability to care for the 3-year-old, due to his inability to leave his home.

“Respondent tells me all of the time that he is depressed, and has on occasion mentioned that he felt like killing himself,” the Rob & Chyna star said, in an affidavit filed on February 18 in response to Kardashian’s request for primary custody of Dream.

“Respondent has trouble leaving the house… “All of the places he says Dream goes during his custodial time, Dream is going there with a nanny or family member because respondent is too afraid to leave the house.”

She went on to insist she hasn’t seen the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star more than “four times in person since the paternity judgment” was entered in October 2017.

However, Rob hit back at the allegations in an affidavit filed on February 24, penning: “I deny that I have an issue with depression or leaving the house.

“My family and I are public figures. There was a time when any paparazzi photo of me immediately led to very incessant negative remarks about my appearance. So yes, for a period of time, I did not want to subject myself to that; I am not sure why anyone would.”

The feuding former lovers split for good in 2017 after a year of dating.

Watch Lil Uzi Vert’s ‘Eternal Atake’ Sci-Fi Short Film

(AllHipHop News) It looks like Lil Uzi Vert is really set to let loose Eternal Atake. The Philadelphia rap star teased the release date for the long-delayed album on Instagram Live late last month.

Uzi has now presented an even more blatant Eternal Atake teaser. On Tuesday night, a 2-minute video associated with the LP was uploaded to the “That Way” performer’s YouTube channel.

1501 CEO Carl Crawford Claims Megan Thee Stallion Lied About Contract Dispute

(AllHipHop News) With the #FreeMeg hashtag, Megan Thee Stallion attempted to rally her fans online to take her side in a contractual quarrel with her label. The rapstress alleged 1501 Certified Entertainment is preventing her from releasing new music.

There were even reports that Meg is suing 1501 for $1 million in damages. She accused the company of being “purposefully and deceptively vague” about the money she claims is owed to her.

1501 CEO Carl Crawford is now addressing the allegations against his record business. The ex-Major League Baseball player spoke to Billboard about Megan’s public accusations.

“It’s a whole lie,” declared Crawford. “Nothing is true that she said. Me being greedy and taking money from her, that’s crazy. I never tried to take nothing from her. The only thing we ever did was give, give, give.”

The former MLB All-Star went on to say he believes Megan Thee Stallion’s new management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is one of the catalysts for their current financial conflict. He suggested it was Meg that is actually violating the four-album deal with 1501 by trying to avoid paying him for merchandise and live touring proceeds.

“Let’s talk about your contract. It’s a great contract for a first-timer,” states Crawford. “What contract gives parts of their masters and 40% royalties and all that kind of stuff? Ask Jay-Z to pull one of his artists’ first contracts, and let’s compare it to what Megan got… I guarantee they won’t ever show you that.”

According to Crawford, Megan Thee Stallion’s now-deceased mother, her associate T. Farris, and her lawyer were the people that negotiated the original 60/40 recording income split with 1501. He did admit the Houston-bred artist is signed to a 360 deal for merchandising and touring that is divided 70/30.

“The rest of the world can get mad at me, but they’re not in Houston. They don’t know how it started,” offered Crawford. “They just call me bitter, but put it this way to your little 8 million followers that don’t give a f*ck about me anyway, if somebody comes and tries to take your sh*t, you gonna fight back too. It wasn’t no renegotiation, it was take this or else. That’s why the beef started.”

The Quality Control Music project includes guest features such as Gunna, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Moneybagg Yo, and Young Thug. Plus, Young Money general Lil Wayne shows up on “Forever.”

Lil Baby has now released the official “Forever” music video. The Jon J.-directed clip quickly became a top trending video on YouTube with over 1 million views in its first 24 hours.

My Turn is also dominating the Apple Music Top 100 chart in the United States. Seven of the Top 10 songs on the tally are tracks from Baby’s second studio LP.

Jay-Z Closing In On $10 Million Deal With Sony

(AllHipHop News) Jay-Z is reportedly gearing up to boost his already bulging bank balance by signing a new $10 million deal with Sony.

According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the rapper has been in discussions with Sony/ATV Music Publishing CEO Jon Platt, and has agreed to a new deal which will see the label manage all the songs he has written to date.

“Sony has had its eye on Jay for a while and they have reached a deal which allows them to manage the songs he has written in exchange for one of the biggest advances in publishing history,” a source told the publication. “This helps him extend his lead as one of the wealthiest artists in the business.”

Jay has previously spoken highly of Platt, who oversaw a similar deal with the mogul’s wife Beyonce in January, calling him his “brother” and the “Obama of the music industry.”

Jay-Z Accused Of Stealing Steal Megan Thee Stallion From Houston Label

(AllHipHop News) Former Major League Baseball star-turned-record label boss Carl Crawford has issued a scathing reply to his artist Megan Thee Stallion, who sued his 1501 Certified Entertainment label earlier this week.

The legal war between Megan and 1501 Certified jumped-off yesterday with her $1 million lawsuit, claiming the label took advantage of her and signed her to a lopsided contract when she was 20-years-old.

The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper accused 1501 of keeping the lion share of the profits from her lucrative recording career, in a 360 deal that allows the label to take a cut of her $100,000 performance fees.

Crawford did an interview with Billboard, where he accused Jay-Z and Roc Nation of trying to steal his artist after his company put in all of the work.

“We gave this girl a 60-40 split. Now go ask the artist about that. She got parts of her masters [the] first time,” Carl Crawford told Billboard. “You think Jay-Z would have gave her part of her masters on her first deal with Roc Nation? F##k no. Then, she’s getting $100,000 a show and she don’t want to pay up. That’s what the issue was about. She signed with Roc Nation in August and decided she didn’t wanna pay me no more.

According to Crawford, 1501 has already around $2 million in the hole marketing Megan’s career, and he hasn’t recouped yet.

Coming up with an amicable resolution to the dispute doesn’t even seem possible and things hit a breaking point with Megan’s million-dollar-lawsuit.

“If you watch her in her interviews, she looks like a little kid that’s just being silly,” Crawford said. “It’s like she’s not even taking it serious. Look at it. Everybody knows. She looks so silly telling everybody I didn’t do nothing here in Houston, TX when we sat here and watched it from day one. She’s such a fraud.”

Rappers Sue Three 6 Mafia Over Theft Of Music For 30 Years

(AllHipHop News) The Academy award-winning Three 6 Mafia is probably one of the most notable rap groups of the south, but their legacy may be in jeopardy.

Wait… it must be hard out here for a pimp!

The Academy award-winning Three 6 Mafia is probably one of the most notable rap groups of the south, but their legacy may be in jeopardy.

Recently, nine Memphis rappers are suing DJ Paul and Juicy J claiming that more than 100 of their songs have 150 instances of copyright infringement.

According to WREG, the group responsible for jams like “Tear Da Club Up” and “Stay Fly” are being accused of lifting people’s swag and lyrics going all the way back to 1993.

Were they sipping on some… damn y’all.

DJ Zirk, one of the plaintiffs in the case said “Stick ‘em up, murderer, robber. All of that. You know what I’m saying? He took a lot of stuff from me.”

And apparently, the rappers suing are especially hurt because they thought they were all friends!

“I never knew that I was on certain songs,” veteran rapper Kingpin Skinny Pimp told the press.

Rapper MC Mack stated, “I want my due royalties, back-pay for anything that was used that was created that I can get paid on in the past.”

“People would come to me all the time, ‘Man, you need to sue Three 6 Mafia. Man, don’t you know that song they sampled it off Koopsta Knicca, or they sampled it on his new album,” rapper Lil Ced complained. “You got your voice on his greatest hits.’ I’m like, ‘For real?’”

Jodeci Singer JoJo Hailey Talks Tupac, Death Row, & His New Record Label

“All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo forever goes down in history as one of the most iconic, romantic ballads in music.

Both natives of Monroe, North Carolina, the R&B brothers rose to stardom as members of Jodeci alongside DeVanté Swing and Mr. Dalvin.

Albums like Forever My Lady, Diary of a Mad Band, and The Show, the After Party, the Hotel produced classics like “Stay,” “Come and Talk To Me,” “Feenin” and others, which sold millions for Andre Harrell’s legendary Uptown Records.

In 1996, K-Ci and JoJo formed a duo and helped deliver Tupac one of his biggest songs, “How Do U Want It.” Their vocals blaring through on the record are a perfect example of both artists’ influence on the music game — especially hip-hop.

Now, JoJo Hailey is ready for his comeback. In fact, he released his first-ever record as a solo artist titled “Special,” to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

The new single marks the beginning of a new decade, released through he and his wife’s record label JT Entertainment.

Rocking a JT chain, JoJo founded the label for his family: two daughters and his nephew — all of whom will be releasing “amazing, amazing music.”

Having been to rehab three times, JoJo is proud to stand sober today.

Pushing through music industry hardships and his own mental health, JoJo arrives in Los Angeles with a smile on his face and gratitude on his sleeve.

AllHipHop caught up with JoJo to discuss working with Tupac, sobriety, and new projects on the way.

AllHipHop: “How Do U Want It” with Tupac is a classic, bring us back to that studio session.

JoJo Hailey: The studio session for “How Do You Want It” with Tupac, K-Ci, and myself was an amazing night. We were hanging out up at Death Row Records. Rest in peace Tupac and Johnny J, the producer. We walk in, Pac was singing something “how you want it, how you feel” — and he sounded crazy. He said “can y’all just do that part for me?” I look at K-Ci and K-Ci looked at me. I said “yeah we can do it, but I ain’t gon’ do it that way!” I had to put my little creativity in there and make it swing a little bit. That was here in LA.

AllHipHop: What was Tupac like then?

JoJo Hailey: The same way he was when he passed. Loud, outspoken, and very intelligent.

AllHipHop: Any stories about Pac or Suge you have never told?

JoJo Hailey: Nah, I choose to stay out of that. Because that relationship was between them. Very few people know a lot about that. Only thing I know is that I love both of them, that’s all I can say.

AllHipHop: Talk about the early days at Uptown. What was the label like before you signed?

JoJo Hailey: The label was Uptown in Uptown New York. It was a family environment. There wasn’t any glamour to it, it was just a place that you wanted to be. That we wanted to be. Especially the way that Guy, Al B. Sure, and everybody…. it was a good feeling. A good space. A good place to be.

AllHipHop: What was it like working with a young Andre Harrell and Diddy?

JoJo Hailey: It’s an amazing story, especially when you see where he’s at today. Because he was a street rep for the company, Andre assigned him to us. We did the baggy jeans and the hats, he was a part of all that. For him to be where he’s at today: his creativity, his creative mind is in-f##king-credible. Mr. Harrell, [whistles] Andre is a visionary! He gave Puffy his vision. He opened the door for him to see everything. I just love the guy, I love the whole thing.

AllHipHop: Diddy is getting bashed for keeping artists’ publishing. Did you ever have an issue with your publishing working with Uptown?

JoJo Hailey: Not with Uptown. We didn’t have any issues as far as publishing because Uptown was also distributed by MCA. So we had problems with MCA, not Uptown.

AllHipHop: How did you maneuver that?

JoJo Hailey: With prayer. [laughs] A whole lot of prayer and patience. We did by the law, by the book.

AllHipHop: Why did you want to leave Uptown for Death Row?

JoJo Hailey: That’s where everybody gets it twisted: nobody ever left Uptown. Uptown left us. Andre Harrell decided to hold and sell Uptown. He sold all the artists. We were just out there so we had to fend for ourselves.

AllHipHop: Do you regret NOT signing with Death Row?

JoJo Hailey: No, I don’t regret any decisions I’ve made. I’m happy to be here. [smiles]

AllHipHop: What happened to the deal with Baby Face’s label, Soda Pop Records?

JoJo Hailey: We were never signed to Baby Face’s label.

Manager: That was more for TV when we did the show. It never really happened. It didn’t materialize. We were, but Soda Pop Records never really materialized.

AllHipHop: Are you still working with Timbaland for a new album?

JoJo Hailey: I haven’t seen Timbaland in a long while. God bless his soul, he’s doing a great job at what he’s doing. But he is a little brother of mine and I respect him. I’m proud of him.

AllHipHop: What are the biggest changes you’ve seen in the music biz over the past 25 years?

JoJo Hailey: Good or bad? [chuckles] The dynamic of the music has changed, I could say that’s a good thing. But the kids today have now entered that autotune and all that other type stuff. The bad part is that there’s no real music anymore. They singing and talking about nothing really. But anything else, they’re doing what they have to do to survive and God bless them.

AllHipHop: Can you and K-CI still be competitive with all the trap/hip-hop/R&B mixing together?

JoJo Hailey: To be honest with you, no. It’s a whole different genre. It’s a whole other generation. We can only be K-CI & JoJo – R&B.

IMAGE

AllHipHop: Are you still cool with the other members of Jodeci?

JoJo Hailey: Yes, those are my brothers.

AllHipHop: You guys were known as R&B bad boys. Tell us about your sobriety. How long has it been?

JoJo Hailey: Omg, it’s been forever. My sobriety is going to go on forever. I don’t want to put myself in a position: I’m not, I won’t, I don’t. I would never put myself in that. I live day by day and I keep God first in all my moves. It’s been forever and it’s going to be a forever. I’m in a good space right now.

AllHipHop: What did you learn going to rehab that you have kept with you to stay sober?

JoJo Hailey: The best part I got out of going to rehab 3x is really loving myself. Like damn, you’re alright. If you chill out a little bit, you could be cool. You don’t need nothing to have an edge to be cool. Because you’re good.

AllHipHop: How is your health/pancreas doing?

JoJo Hailey: Thank you Jesus, I’m healthy. I’m fine. I just thank God I’m happy everyday. One day at a time, that’s all you need.

AllHipHop: Tell us about your new projects.

JoJo Hailey: JT Entertainment, that’s my heart. It’s a business that my wife and I started. It’s an entertainment company. We’re bringing out JoJo, family and friends. I have two of my daughters and one of my nephews, which is K-Ci’s son. They’re coming out with amazing, amazing music. I wanted to do this not just for myself, but I wanted to let them have something to be a part of. Because they’re passionate about it. I just love it. It’s a project that I love and a family reunion. A family gathering.

AllHipHop: What can we expect from “Special”?

JoJo Hailey: Only expect it to be special. I want everybody to really listen to the words of the song. It’s a happy, dance, love song.

EXCLUSIVE: Judge To Toss Lawsuit Against Casanova For Breaking Woman’s Jaw

(AllHipHop News) Brooklyn rapper Casanova just caught a “break” over a fight in a diner which left a woman with a broken jaw.

A woman named Niya Rucker filed a lawsuit against Casanova in July of 2019 after she was beaten up inside the Good Stuff Diner in New York in August of 2018.

Since the original filing, Niya Rucker has failed to serve the rapper with a subpoena, and Casanova hasn’t replied.

Now the clock is counting down on Rucker.

Judge Dora Irizarry has promised to throw the case out of court on March 13th since Niya Rucker hasn’t taken any action on the case since her original filing almost a year ago.

The whole ordeal between Niya Rucker and Casanova started when the rapper and his guys were trying to enjoy a tasty meal inside of Good Stuff.

Rucker made the bad choice of filming the rapper as he was eating.

According to Niya, Casanova went nuts and the rap star’s friends beat her, choked her out, cut her and ultimately broke her jaw as he tried to take her phone to erase the footage.

Casanova was ultimately arraigned on two counts of felony robbery. He vehemently refuted all of the accusations through his lawyer Scott Leemon.

“The alleged victim, left, that night, with her phone. Therefore, there is no loss relating to anything Casanova is accused of doing. The alleged victim knowingly and purposely lied to the local media for one significant purpose….to try and make money off of the incident,” Scott Leemon told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “She has no credibility. The labeling of Casanova as a person who assaults women is slanderous and will not be tolerated.”

RZA Hand Delivers iPads To Staten Island Students

(AllHipHop News) Rap veteran RZA recently paid a surprise visit to school children in Staten Island, New York to deliver a brand new batch of iPads.

The Wu-Tang Clan legend was initially contacted online by public school teacher Jo Ann Accardi last May as she launched a fundraiser seeking donations to purchase five laptops for use in her classroom due to the lack of technological resources available for her students.

RZA eventually heard all about the initiative and subsequently decided to step up, joining forces with officials at the Children’s Literacy Council to provide a shipment of iPad Pros to Accardi’s classroom, located in the borough where many of the Wu-Tang Clan members originated.

The hip-hop star personally delivered the goods to Accardi at the school, P.S. 78, last week, when he also encouraged youngsters to continue striving for their dreams, reports the Staten Island Advance.

Pharrell Looking To Make Millions By Selling Beverly Hills Mansion

(AllHipHop News) Neptunes frontman Pharrell Williams is looking to unload a pricey piece of real estate in Beverly Hills.

According to reports, the “Happy” hitmaker has listed his mansion for a whopping $17 million.

Whoever the lucky buyer is will be living in luxury, as Pharrell spared no expense when he moved into the 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom property, which sits on four-acres.

The home also features a tennis court and a 200-foot long private driveway that leads to a separate parking area that can fit over 30 cars.

Pharrell will make a few millions on the deal if he gets his asking price. The rap star bought the home from Tyler Perry for a little over $15 million in 2018.

R. Kelly’s Lawyer Says STD Charge Is Unconstitutional

(AllHipHop News) R. Kelly’s lawyer has argued that several of the sexual crime charges against the singer should be dropped, because the law upon which they are based is “unconstitutional.”

Steve Greenberg, Kelly’s attorney, filed a motion in Brooklyn federal court on Monday, arguing that the 1943 New York law, which makes it a criminal offense for someone who knows they have an “infectious venereal disease” to have sex with another person, is an invasion of privacy.

Several of the charges against the disgraced singer, including sexual exploitation of minors, racketeering and transporting females across state lines for the purposes of having sex, are based on testimony from Faith Rodgers, who claims the singer gave her genital herpes without telling her he had the disease.

“This statute is facially unconstitutional. It prohibits sexual intercourse by anybody who has an STD. The definition is vast, ranging from HIV to yeast infections … It includes HPV and ‘scabies’,” Greenberg writes in his motion. “The only requirement is that the individual knows that they have the venereal disease. In other words, it prohibits two consenting adults from having sexual intercourse if either, or both, know that they have an infectious venereal disease.

“It does not require that the disease be passed on, nor does it allow the consenting adults to have sexual intercourse if the venereal disease is disclosed beforehand. It does not permit the use of a condom, or account for modern day suppression drugs.”

R. Kelly has denied having genital herpes, but prosecutors have claimed in court that his medical records show he had an “infectious venereal disease” at the time he was having sex with Rodgers.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn declined to comment on the outcome of Greenberg’s motion.

R. Kelly will be heading to trial in July for the charges in Brooklyn, while he also faces criminal charges in Chicago and Minneapolis.

We admire Kanye west, and adore his journey. However, we don’t wanna feel like our daughter’s journey in the world of entertainment is being STIFLED. THANK YOU!

Kardashian eventually mentioned ZaZa in her Instagram Story on Monday night calling North’s rendition of “What I Do?” a “remix.” The Keeping Up with the Kardashians reality show star also left a comment under @redcarpetgirlz’s post.

“We love you, North is a huge fan and records in the studio all the time with her dad and is inspired by ZaZa and loves LayLay too! [Today’s] performance of North’s remix of ZaZa’s song was something she asked to do at the last minute and a complete surprise. I didn’t mean to not give credit where credit was due. Would love for the girls to meet soon,” wrote Kim K.

ZaZa’a representatives responded on their own Instagram Story by reposting Kardashian’s IG message and adding, “All love, all good. Thanks to ZaZa-Gang for all the support!”

Public Enemy’s Prof. Griff Has Something To Say About Chuck & Flavor Flav

(AllHipHop Rumors) Some of you guys may not know who Professor Griff is, but he is one of the key members of Public Enemy that represented the militaristic side of the group. He’s an official dude to the very core.

Now, what you youngsters don’t remember is that a very long time ago Professor Griff was kicked out of the group for a whole ‘nother set of reasons. But at that time, Chuck D exercised his “power,” but it was clear then that he was the one in control of the group’s brand.

Here is an hour-long conversation with Griff as well and this is more expansive than the previous convo. He talks about he and Chuck D and others got on the phone. He says he didn’t agree with kicking Flavor Flav out and that the drama was way, way before Bernie Sanders. He didn’t agree with Chuck “endorsing” Bernie Sanders. “Flavor needs help…more than anything,” Griff said. He said Favor Flav gets the respect he deserves…word.

At the end of the day, this brings me great sorrow.

Public Enemy is one of the greatest rap group EVER…they need to get it together!! We need them out there fighting for us so we can be inspired.

At the end of the day, BROTHER IS WORKING IT OUT!
