EXCLUSIVE: Bone Thugs’ Krayzie Bone Says Hip-Hop Still Needs More Respect

Bone Thugs-n-Harmony have more than paid their dues. After signing with Ruthless Records in the early 1990s, the group catapulted to stardom with their critically acclaimed album, E. 1999 Eternal. The project introduced a new style of rap, one that incorporated harmonies into their reflective rhymes. The five members of the group—Krayzie Bone, Layzie Bone, Bizzy Bone, Wish Bone and Flesh-n-Bone—are now lauded, veteran MCs who continue to tour the world with their music.

On August 11—the official 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop—Bone Thugs will return to their hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, where the intersection of E. 99th Street and St. Clair Avenue will be renamed “Bone Thugs-n-Harmony Way.” The street-naming ceremony is expected to be followed by a performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The following day (August 12) Bone Thugs will hit the stage during the Glenville Festival at Sam Miller Park before joining LL COOL J’s The F.O.R.C.E. Tour at the Rocket Mortgage Field House.

It’s a full circle moment for Bone Thugs, who used to find themselves in nothing but trouble on those same streets. Despite Hip-Hop’s rise to dominance over the last 50 years, Krayzie Bone still thinks there’s a ways to go when it comes to respect. Case in point. In 2016, Lil Yachty made headlines when he couldn’t name five 2Pac or Biggie’s songs, something he admittedly didn’t care to know. He later called Biggie “overrated.” Many people took his comments as a sign of disrespect and a clear indication a lot of young rappers don’t do their due diligence when it comes to studying Hip-Hop history.

“With Hip-Hop, I’ve been blessed to be here,” Krayzie tells AllHipHop. “To be here at the beginning, to watch and see every phase that it’s went through, I’m excited to see what the next 50 years is going to bring. Hip-Hop is definitely here to stay as a music genre, but it’s still so young.

“I just want to see Hip-Hop mature and be more kind and respectful to the artists that carry this genre. I want to see a balance between artists and corporations. It’s still young, but it needs to mature a lot. We need to realize and understand how to treat all legends like other genres of music.”

And Krayzie has a point. Rock legends like the Rolling Stones’ Mick Jagger, The Beatles’ Paul McCartney and Sting of The Police are essentially revered as gods, while the elder statesmen of Hip-Hop are often dismissed as “washed” or “old.”

“I understand Hip-Hop is like a competitive sport,” he continues. “But so is football, and I don’t know one running back who don’t pay homage to Jim Brown, the greatest of all time. Or a boxer who doesn’t pay homage to Mohammad Ali. That’s what Hip-Hop needs to be. At some point, it will get there, but it needs right leadership.”

“Right now, Hip-Hop has had 50 years to run wild. Now it’s time to start getting some structure to it. It’s time to start creating genres within genres. Why can’t we have Hip-Hop as one genre and rap music as another? Hip-Hop and rap is not the same. It needs to be broken down like that in categories just like you have R&B, you got soul/R&B. You got all these different forms of Hip-Hop. It can be the same in Hip-Hop. You don’t have to put everything in one category.”

Cardi B Steals The Show At Paris Fashion Week With Impromptu Performance

Grammy Award-winning rapper Cardi B graced the Thom Browne fashion show during Paris Fashion Week with an impromptu performance and a stunning fashion statement.

Leaving the designer’s show on Monday (July 3), the “WAP” artist was offered an unexpected opportunity to perform. Initially hesitant, Cardi B eventually sang a few lines of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” before laughing it off and heading to her car.

The Paris trip was a refreshing change for the rapper. She was recently involved in a public disagreement with her husband Offset, who accused her of infidelity, allegations she vehemently denied.

At the Couture Week opening, Cardi B dazzled the crowd in a custom outfit from the French haute couture house Schiaparelli, designed by creative director Daniel Roseberry.

Cardi B donned the brand’s signature black and gold, giving her a regal look as she watched the collection’s debut from the front row. She was seated alongside Emmy Award-nominated actress Tracee Ellis Ross.

The rapper expressed her admiration for the show and her outfit in an Instagram photo, captioning it, “Polished! Beautiful show!” Cardi B has involved into a high-fashion enthusiast.

In 2020, she fronted Balenciaga’s winter campaign, her first for a luxury fashion house. The same year, she became the first female rapper to be awarded the Style Influencer of the Year by the FN Achievement Awards, an honor presented by Christian Louboutin.

For a closer look at Cardi B’s unique fashion statement, photos of her outfit are available on her Instagram page.

50 Cent Says His Champagne Cognac Is So Good Jesus Would Drink It

50 Cent is confident about almost anything he puts his hands on. One of those things is his Branson cognac brand with Sire Spirits company. The mogul believes his award-winning spirit could actually impress “he who is one with the Holy Spirit,” and has no problem going through hell to ensure his fans get a chance to taste his golden-brown drink.

According to the Branson cognac website, 50 Cent has several different types: Phantom, Royal, VSOP Grande Champagne and XO Grand Champagne.

The bottle for the XO Grand Champagne actually got him into some legal problems with Remy Martin. The legacy brand alleged the artist-turned-mogul copied its trademarked bottle for the new cognac. The two companies settled on the two-year dispute in June.

The “Get Rich or Die Tryin’” rapper believes Remy Martin was trying to teach him and his newer company a lesson.

“They felt I was moving too fast, so they put some pressure on me,” he said in an interview with France24.com. “They picked the wrong guy coz I spend a million dollars a year on legal fees anyway— just for recreational purposes it feels like sometimes.”

A party connoisseur, he knew the type of clientele that would like his cognac. Surprisingly enough, he believed the purported Son of God would love taking a sip.

“Jesus Christ would drink that s###,” he said in his interview.

While the cognac is good, it would have taken an Act of God to change Remy Martin’s mind about the bottle. As a part of the settlement, 50 Cent had to agree to change the bottle design.

Akademiks Still Doubtful Tory Lanez Shot Megan Thee Stallion

Tory Lanez was convicted on three felony charges in connection to the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion earlier this year. However, Off the Record host Akademiks is still skeptical Lanez actually harmed the “Savage” hitmaker.

On July 12, 2020, Megan Thee Stallion and Tory Lanez were involved in a violent incident shortly after leaving a party in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood. Megan later publically named Lanez as the person who pulled the trigger.

“I thought [Tory Lanez] didn’t do it,” Akademiks told VladTV. “I’m still kinda a little doubtful, but the verdict is the verdict. I think the people who were reporting at court at that time were biased.”

In addition to Akademiks, several other Hip-Hop figures questioned whether Megan Thee Stallion told the truth about the shooting. Drake even received backlash for his lyrics seemingly referencing the situation.

“This b#### lied about gettin’ shots, but she still a stallion/She don’t even get the joke, but she still smilin’,” Drake rapped on “Circo Loco” from his 2022 collaborative album, Her Loss with 21 Savage.

“We even had Drake who said, ‘The chick is lying,'” Akademiks told Vlad. “And he took some flack for it. It became one of those things where the majority of the industry was like, ‘You know what? This Tory guy might be innocent.'”

In contrast, 21 Savage showed support for Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. The Slaughter Gang leader tweeted, “Wish I could give Megan a hug praying for you.” Last December, Noah “40” Shebib, Drake’s longtime music producer, also implied he stood with Meg.

Tory Lanez reportedly faces up to 22 years and eight months in prison and deportation for the assault with a semiautomatic handgun, having a loaded and unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and gross negligence in discharging his firearm convictions. Watch Akademiks take below.

Vivica A. Fox: “Independence Day 2” Suffered Without Will Smith

The alien invasion movie Independence Day starring Will Smith has become a cult classic since its 1996 release. Vivica A. Fox was part of the original ID cast, and she reprised her role as Jasmine Dubrow in the sequel.

2016’s Independence Day: Resurgence didn’t have the same cultural impact or box office success as its predecessor. The Roland Emmerich-directed motion picture also failed to impress professional film critics.

In a recent interview with The A.V. Club, Fox admitted Resurgence fell short of recapturing the magic of Independence Day. The veteran actress expressed the absence of Will Smith hurt the second installment in the franchise.

“I just didn’t feel like it was good and lived up to the first one,” she said. “I really feel we missed out by not bringing Will Smith back. We got most of the original cast, but I think the one true link that was missing to the success of Independence Day 2 was that Will Smith wasn’t there.”

Fox went on to say she entered the Independence Day: Resurgence premiere with concerns about how ID fans would react to part two. Apparently, a significant number of Fox’s Twitter followers expressed disappointment.

Independence Day, directed by Roland Emmerich, grossed more than $817 million at the global box office. The 20th Century Fox-backed movie has a 68 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes with a 75 percent audience score.

Independence Day: Resurgence only managed to bring in around $390 million worldwide. Critics panned Resurgence, evidenced by its 29 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Moviegoers gave the sci-fi sequel a 30 percent rating on the review-aggregation website.

Big Surprise: Janelle Monáe Flashed Her Breast To Thirsty Crowd At Essence Fest

Janelle Monáe proved she knows how to work a crowd. During the recent Essence Festival in New Orleans, a strategically-timed stunt had the audience going nuts. Yes, she flashed her breast to the oh-so-thirsty crowd.

The singer’s tiny yet tasteful black-and-white ensemble made quite the impression. As the entertainer performed her track “Yoga,” she geared up for the juicy reveal. While she sang “get off my a#####,” she simultaneously lifted up the side of her triangular top.

Of course, an ample breast was nearly on full display, although a properly placed pink pasty hid the nipple. Keep in mind, Monaé is often celebrated for her body positive stance.

During a candid interview, Janelle Monáe mentioned being “much happier when my t###ies are out,” according to Rolling Stone. So, the chanteuse effectively doubled down on her thoughts.

Keep in mind, the musician’s latest release—The Age of Pleasure—also depicted a censored view of her chest. Perhaps, this au natural version of the artist is her most desired one. Who knows?

Obviously, Janelle Monáe has been afforded the opportunity to share her creativity and her curves. The question remains, how much is the public willing to accept?

“Blueface & Chrisean Rock: Crazy In Love” Gets Season 2 Trailer

Blueface and Chrisean Rock have once again invited viewers into their lives via reality television. Season 2 of Crazy In Love will return to the subscription-based Zeus streaming network in the coming weeks.

Zeus released the official trailer for Crazy In Love on Sunday (July 2). The 63-second clip features the show’s main stars talking about Chrisean Rock’s pregnancy.

“Is there any chance this is not my baby?” Blueface can be heard asking the Baddies alumna in the clip. Chrisean Rock responded by saying, “Babe, no. This is your baby.”

Chrisean announced her pregnancy in January. At first, Blueface suggested he may not be the father of the unborn child by claiming there is an “eight out of 10” chance he actually impregnated Rock.

Blueface also tweeted, “To answer y’all questions, yes me [and Rock] are officially done, it’s strictly business. I tried it [and] clearly it wasn’t giving before she announces… She’s pregnant with somebody else’s child, not mine.”

Minutes later on January 20, the “Thotiana” rapper also posted on Twitter, “Rock has had encounters with 10 different men in the last year. Until I see DNA test then it’s not mine.”

The Blueface and Chrisean Rock relationship has included allegations of cheating and multiple incidents of violence.

Zeus describes Blueface and Chrisean Rock as “America’s most polarizing couple.” Season 1 of Crazy In Love ran for seven episodes beginning in December 2022. The show sparked controversy for its depiction of so-called “toxic love.”

Lil Yachty Declares DaBaby Outrapped Jay-Z On Kanye West’s “Jail”

The first episode of A Safe Place Podcast has people talking. During one part of the show, Lil Yachty shared his thoughts on Jay-Z and DaBaby.

Originally, Kanye West presented a Donda album track titled “Jail” featuring his Watch The Throne collaborator, Jay-Z. Then Ye came out with “Jail Pt 2.” which included DaBaby.

Lil Yachty and MitchGoneMad had a conversation on A Safe Place Podcast about the two “Jail” collaborations. According to Lil Yachty, DaBaby outrapped the legendary Brooklynite on the beat.

“Something I’ve wanted to talk about for a long time is the song ‘Jail’ from Kanye West,” Lil Yachty told MitchGoneMad. “In my personal opinion, I think DaBaby had a better verse.”

The 25-year-old southerner also added, “I know the conversation of Jay-Z versus DaBaby is insane, but I honestly think his verse was better. I feel that’s gonna get me a lot of heat anyway. Maybe not as heated as the whole Biggie situation I dealt with in 2016.”

Lil Yachty Once Called Rap Icon The Notorious B.I.G. “Overrated”

This isn’t the first time Lil Yachty has expressed debatable thoughts about a 1990s-era MC. The Georgia-bred rhymer faced significant backlash in November 2016 for saying he believed The Notorious B.I.G. was “overrated.”

Yachty later walked back his comments that same month. He stated, “I feel like I owe an apology. I didn’t think before I spoke on that topic. I know now how important and just how serious it is to some people. I didn’t want people thinking that I was disrespecting him because it wasn’t a disrespect thing.”

Some Hip-Hop fans continued to hold his comments about Biggie over Lil Yachty’s head. Two years ago, the “One Night” hitmaker reflected on those controversial remarks about the Brooklyn-bred rap legend.

“People hated me after that, like death threats, just a lot,” Yachty said. “I think that’s what really started that hate for me. I, with so many people just automatically trying to dump me like he’s whack, he’s corny, or whatever the case may be.”

Young Thug’s “Business Is Business” Album Makes Top 5 Debut

Business Is Business, the most recent studio LP from Young Thug, barely missed out on the Billboard 200’s No. 1 spot. But the incarcerated rapper’s third official album did make it into the Top 5.

With roughly 89,000 total album-equivalent units in its opening week, Young Thug’s Business Is Business opened at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time (around 110,500 units) led the rankings for a fifteenth non-consecutive week.

Business Is Business gives Young Thug his eighth Top 10 project on the Billboard 200. Previously, 2019’s So Much Fun album, 2021’s Slime Language 2 compilation and 2021’s Punk album each peaked at No. 1.

Young Thug (real name Jeffery Williams) currently awaits a state trial in Georgia on racketeering, drugs and illegal firearms charges. Last year, fellow YSL recording artist Gunna pled guilty in the same case.

Gunna dropped his A Gift & a Curse album one week before Young Thug’s Business Is Business arrived on June 23. A Gift & a Curse landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart with approximately 85,000 total album equivalent units in its opening week.

Some Hip-Hop fans and other rappers accused Gunna of snitching on Young Thug in order to secure a more favorable plea deal with prosecutors. The man born Sergio Kitchens denied turning on his YSL label boss.

While Gunna’s A Gift & a Curse had no featured acts, Young Thug’s Business Is Business included appearances by Drake, Future, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Juice WRLD, Nicki Minaj and more.

Southside revealed that Thug put together Business Is Business in less than three weeks. The “Hoodie” producer also confirmed the YSL Records leader recorded some of his vocals for the project over the phone.

Busta Rhymes Reveals Pharrell & Swizz Beatz Played Pivotal Role In “Fixing” Him

Busta Rhymes has recently been racking up the accolades for his decades-long career, but the Hip-Hop legend says none of his recent success would’ve been possible if it wasn’t for the help of a couple of his peers.

During a candid new interview with Apple Music, Busta Rhymes revealed how Pharrell Williams and Swizz Beatz helped him through a rough patch in his life. He shared his gratitude for “the incredible music” and friendship he shares with Pharrell, who he called a god, but revealed he’s ultimately thankful the multi-hyphenate can get through to him when nobody else can.

“There’s been some times in the last four, five years where I needed to make some changes that was very serious changes, personally and professionally,” he explained.

While he didn’t specify what he had going on in his life, he thanked Pharrell and Swizz Beatz for their role in getting him back on track.

“I became so complacent in this space that it was starting to harm me,” he explained. “And I needed to talk to somebody and try to help get a navigation to help me reach to the destination that I needed to reach to get up out of that and get back to my happiness and my peace of mind.

“Pharrell and Swizz very specifically in this area of my life, in this time of my life, were just the two people that I was able to trust with my most vulnerable space.”

Busta Rhymes then acknowledged the significance of his relationship with Pharrell and Swizz. “Not only did I trust [them] with the truth, them n####s helped fix Bus Rhymes,” he added.

It’s not just his peace of mind the duo has assisted him with. In May, Swizz Beatz revealed he was producing Busta Rhymes’s forthcoming album alongside fellow super producers Pharrell and Timbaland: “Wait till they hear how we are going to SHIFT THE CULTURE.”

Lil Wayne Says Tyler, The Creator Once Blamed Him For Nasty Skateboard Accident

Lil Wayne recently revealed Tyler, The Creator was once hauled off to hospital after a skateboarding accident that he blamed on the Young Money Entertainment founder.

During a recent episode of The Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis podcast, HawkVsWolf, the skateboard fanatic recalled the time Tyler sent him a picture of himself from a hospital bed.

“He was in a hospital bed with tubes,” Lil Wayne said of the image. Tyler, The Creator sent him the pic alongside the message, “Man, messing with you.”

Lil Wayne immediately assumed Tyler had been the victim of a shooting, but he was wrong. The CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST album creator injured himself attempting a skateboarding trick. “He sent me the clip after. It’s a clip of him trying to drop in,” Weezy explained. “He dropped in and ate s###.”

He described the video and revealed Tyler’s injuries were quite serious. Lil Wayne told him at the time, “Man I’m glad that you’re OK that you’re the one that’s texting me.”

Elsewhere during the podcast, Lil Wayne revealed the “organic” reason he loves skateboarding so much. He likened the sport to meditation, explaining that the focus required to avoid injury means he can’t think about anything else.

“It’s simple,” he told the hosts. “You can’t put your feet on four wheels on some wood and start kicking and start thinking about nothing else except what’s in front of you and on the side of you.”

Nicki Minaj Reacts To Elon Musk’s Unpopular New Twitter Restrictions

Like many Twitter users, Nicki Minaj is adjusting to the latest update from owner Elon Musk after the billionaire rolled out a new restriction.

Over the weekend, Twitter announced the number of tweets users can view each day would be limited. Initially, verified accounts were limited to reading 6,000 posts daily, while unverified account views were capped at 600. New unverified accounts were given a threshold of 300 each day.

Nicki Minaj frequently interacts with her fans online and took to Twitter to address the new limits.

“Planning out how I’ll use my 600 limit today,” the “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” hitmaker announced. Among the online activities Nicki Minaj mapped out was promoting her upcoming album and interacting with her hardcore fans, or as she put it, “mush the barbz in they head.”

She also planned to “block & beat the duds while dissing them & cracking up laughing at my own jokes,” while “posting at least 1” NeNe Leakes gif.

When somebody pointed out Nicki Minaj has a higher limit due to her verified Twitter account, the NYC icon declared she doesn’t want special treatment.

“No….I’m the kind of Queen that likes to get right down in the dirt with her subjects, sir,” she replied. “The monarchy will also not tolerate any sorts of disrespect. Oh & sir…never turn your back on the Queen. Good Day.”

Elon Musk eventually increased the limits following immense backlash.

“Now to 10k, 1k & 0.5k,” he announced before acknowledging the “irony” at the view count of his original tweet. His July 1 post has racked up over half a billion views in less than two days.

Trina Has Wardrobe Malfunction At Essence Festival

OOPS!

Trina was the talk of the BET Awards, which were a celebration of 50 years of Hip-Hop. They tried to put a bun in her glorious oven. She was the talk of that and now, she’s reportedly the talk of the Essence Festival for all the wrong reasons yet again.

My sources at the affair tell me the Diamond Princess had a wardrobe malfunction that resulted in her breast popping out. I can’t lie, I like all of Trina and in my creepy way, well…I am going to cop a plea and say, “I am all man, people!”

Anyway, I saw it and it’s already being regarded as #nipplegate. I can’t show it to you, but I can reveal an edited version of it.

Here you go, you filthy animals!

Blac Chyna Breaks Down Receiving Honorary Doctorate: “I’ve Been Through A Lot”

Blac Chyna received an honorary Doctorate of Humanities from the Sacramento Theological Seminary and Bible College months after collecting a Liberal Arts degree from the same institution

Earlier this year, the influencer revealed she was turning over a new leaf after getting baptized. She shed all her occult tattoos and began a program of home study receiving her first degree on January 17.

On Sunday evening (July 2), Blac Chyna announced she added an honorary Doctorate of Humanities to her collection. In an emotional acceptance speech, Dr. Angela Renee White spoke of her faith and gratitude. “

God has never given up on me. I’ve been through a lot in my life and he’s been changing my life,” Blac Chyna added before breaking down. “I want to continue to walk in this light and learn and grow and be an inspiration to my family, my friends and my kids.”

Lil Uzi Vert Paid For $200,000 Funeral Of Late Rapper Lotta Cash Desto

Lil Uzi Vert dropped their latest album, The Pink Tape, last month. On one of the more introspective tracks, Lil Uzi claimed they paid $200,000 for the funeral of late rapper, Lotta Cash Desto.

Lotta Cash Desto was fatally shot in Houston, Texas last year. Her passing evidently made a lasting impression on Baby Pluto.

The Lil Uzi Vert-affiliate was only 24 years old at the time of her death. Such potential being snatched away must have hit the rapper hard. So, rather than entertaining self-destructive behaviors, Lil Uzi penned their pain.

The Pink Tape dug surprisingly deep. On “Days Come And Go,” Lil Uzi’s reflected: “I got too much on my mind, too much on my plate/I spent two-hundred thousand on Desto funeral, that’s an estate/I don’t know why they be mad at me, ’cause I’m expressin’ my ways.”

While some things remain questionable, Lil Uzi Vert’s heart seems to be in the right place.

Boosie Badazz Concert Reportedly Ends In Gunfire, One Victim Shot In The Head

A Boosie Badazz concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma reportedly led to gunfire. According to Fox 23 News, more than 20 rounds were set off and four people were hit. The Louisiana lyricist was wrapping up his set with “Set It Off” when the shenanigans started.

Perhaps the track sparked the mayhem or the rapper’s rhetorical call and response incited the pistol-toting shooters. Whatever the case, it got wild.

While poetic license is a thing, it appears as though Boosie didn’t understand his audience. As the show closed, the Tulsa Police Department was called out to help with crowd control. Hundreds of folks peacefully exited the venue.

Others found reasons to act up. As Friday night (June 30) turned into Saturday morning (July 1), some of Boosie Badazz’s supporters began to run amuck. Soon, shots rang out.

According to local reports, more than 20 spent rounds were discovered at the venue’s parking lot. One individual has sustained critical injuries and remains hospitalized.

Suspects allegedly exchanged fire with TPD as local news crew reported. Overall, Boosie Badazz has earned the respect of his many of peers and fans. While some folks chase clout, others are about that life. Check out what all social media had to say.

Mozzy Detained Following Shooting Involving Seven Victims: Graphic Video Shows Bloodshed

Mozzy was attending an after-party at a club in Wichita, Kansas over the weekend when shots rang out. The incident took place at a venue called City Nightz, where Mozzy had shown up following his performance at another nearby club. Seven people were shot, although nobody was killed. Injuries range from minor bullet grazes to serious gunshot wounds.

According to TMZ, the West Coast rapper was briefly detained by local police on Saturday night (July 1) but wasn’t arrested or charged. The detainment occurred during a traffic stop as police were trying to secure the scene. Police believe someone in Mozzy’s entourage—who was riding in the same car as the rapper—is responsible for the shooting. That person was hauled off to jail, although it’s unclear what his charges are.

In a graphic video making the rounds, blood can be seen splattered across the sidewalk. A woman in the background says, “Never again.” The clip also shows a scuffle break out inside the club before shots are fired. Elsewhere in the video, Mozzy and his crew are stopped and ordered out of the car.

WARNING: GRAPHIC VIDEO

Mozzy is lucky he wasn’t involved. Despite being placed in handcuffs, he did get to walk away. The 36-year-old has already had his share of legal troubles. Between 2005 and 2008, Mozzy was arrested three times by the Sacramento Police for possession crimes, including illegal possession of a firearm and evading police. He was arrested again in 2014 and served a sentence in San Quentin State Prison.

After his release, Mozzy decided to focus solely on his music, although probation forbade him from leaving the state of California until 2017. In July 2018, Mozzy was arrested for gun possession during a traffic stop in Las Vegas. Four years later, he pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and was sentenced to one year in prison. He was also hit with $55,000 fine. He served his sentence at USP Atwater before being released in May after serving 10 months.

Rick Ross’s Pool Party Crashed By Parachuting Man: “Don’t Land On The Roof!”

Rick Ross’s sprawling Georgia estate continues to be a source of entertainment. Not long after his massive car show, the Maybach Music Group boss held pool party to usher in the summer. But his soirée got a little more exciting after a man parachuted onto his property. Rick Ross shared video of the moment when the parachuting man flies overhead.

“There he go!” Ross says, excitedly. “Oh my god! It’s the parachute guy. G#######! Hey, don’t land on the roof!” Additional footage included the man packing up his gear and tossing into the back of a black pickup truck. Ross later said they wound up giving him the truck, telling him it was their “destiny.”

This is the second time someone flying through the air has landed on Rick Ross’s property. Early last month, fan Kris Jeter risked his life paragliding into one of Ross’s parties. He told WSB-TV, “I was pretty lucky to make it make it to Rick Ross’ house. It was honestly one of the scariest flights I’ve ever taken. As soon as I got turned around by the wind, I had to fight my way to turn back around. The winds were rushing fast.”

But not everyone is amused by Rick Ross’s ongoing party antics. Several of his neighbors protested the car show, going as far as launching a petition to stop it. The neighbors told Fayette County Board of Commissioners last year’s event brought traffic to a standstill, so members of the Northridge subdivision signed petitions opposing the show.

“I have the petitions here that we signed,” one neighbor told the board during a meeting on April 25, while another said, “Our quality of life was unnecessarily compromised.”

Despite the neighbors’ uproar, Rick Ross was still allowed to proceed with the car show on June 3. Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane and Meek Mill were among those who performed at the event and all seemed to go well.

Tyler, The Creator Credits “Dipstick” will.i.am & Sergio Mendes For Shaping His Musical Journey

Grammy-winning rapper Tyler, the Creator is paying homage to will.i.am, acknowledging the Black Eyed Peas frontman’s influence on his early career.

Tyler, known for his eclectic style and innovative approach to music, has often been candid about his influences, but this recent acknowledgment offers a deeper insight into his musical journey.

“will.i.am is still a dipstick BUT 25 years ago Behind The Front by the Black Eyed Peas was released,” Tyler shared in a heartfelt tribute. “One of the first hip hop albums I owned.”

He recalled writing his first rap to the second half of “Positivity” at the tender age of seven. Tyler also admired the track “The Way You Make Me Feel,” praising the perfect melding of will.i. am’s production with Kim Hill’s vocals.

He further lauded the simplicity yet incredible creativity of the “Joints and Jams” video and the timeless appeal of “Love Won’t Wait.”

However, the influence of will.i.am on Tyler, The Creator’s career extends beyond the Black Eyed Peas. Tyler credits will.i. am’s work with Brazilian musician Sergio Mendes was instrumental in expanding his ear for music.

“This album was my introduction to the sounds of bossa nova cause of the great ear will had for samples, which led to him doing that Sergio Mendes project almost a decade later,” Tyler explained.

The album in question, 2006’s Timeless, was a collaboration between Mendes and will.i.am. It was a groundbreaking project that fused Mendes’s classic bossanova sound with will.i. am’s contemporary Hip-Hop production.

“Will came to my house with a lot of old vinyls that I recorded many years ago,” Sergio Mendes told AllHipHop. “I was so surprised. It was like, ‘Wow!’ He knew every song. He knows every Brazilian riff. I could just feel his passion for the music. We talked, and I said, ‘You know what? You love Brazilian music. Why don’t we bring the Brazilian music and melodies to the Hip-Hop urban world and put them together? I think we can make something really different.'”

The album featured guest artists, including The Black Eyed Peas, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Black Thought, Erykah Badu, Chali 2na and others.

Timeless was celebrated for its innovative blending of genres and generations, and this fusion profoundly impacted a young Tyler.
