(AllHipHop Features) Life in the United States is begining to feel like a really catastrophic, dystopian reality show and, as the presidential election looms, the finale approaches. But 2o2o is not a bad season of “Survivor.” Joe Biden and Donald Trump are merely the tip of the iceberg as a myriad of matters press down on the America public. For Black America, the crushing weight can feel like being at the bottom of the ocean. Lives lost. Injustice. Murder. Gross inequities. Covid-19. 2020.
Regardless, the presidential election and all that comes with it, seems to be the start of something, depending on what issues are of value to the person casting a vote. Jermaine Dupri, the near-omniscient music/tv/entertainment mogul, will be voting this November, leaning sharply in Joe Biden’s direction. Neither nominee has an easy battle ahead nor are Black people on one accord.
Dupri, Ice Cube and Kanye West represent how divergent the so-called Black community is, in thought, deed, ideologies and sometimes duplicitous motivations. And the stakes are high enough to catch a contact. AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur spoke to Jermaine Dupri and the Atlanta ambassador delves into the complexity of it all.
Jermaine Dupri: There are a lot of conversations going on. There are a lot of conversations going on. With this election, it’s important to highlight it’s not being ignored. It’s important to highlight the minio-conversations being discussed amongst the people, amongst Black people. Black men, everything.
AllHipHop: Do you think there’s a misconception that a lot of people are not being heard by Joe Biden? Or maybe they don’t quite believe feel like they are being heard?
100%. In the old ways, they don’t always share that they are being heard so you are left yo believe you aren’t. The selection is the one where all of that should change.
We got a lot of undercover Black people that voted for Trump. We got a lot of Black people that don’t wanna vote. Period. People that don’t like either one of the candidates. Those two issues are just as big as anything else. A lot of that comes from Trump’s angle to get in office. Trump would go at people the way Hillary Clinton would not go at people. He was going at people the way Obama and Biden would not go at people. That’s what won people over, so I feel like that same energy has to go in this election. Everything has to be discussed and things have to be talked about. And things that are happening in the streets, it’s a must that people feel like they are being heard.
I feel like the reason Kanye wants to run [for president] and the reason Kanye supports Donald Trump is another issue that has not been addressed enough for people to understand what’s going on. People just think Kanye is crazy. Right? Meanwhile, I know other Black Republicans that speak the same language Kanye speaks.
It’s really a knowledge game. People have to read and people have to get in front of other people that are speaking, and listen. Kanye has been told why he has to be a Republican. He’s been told to be a Republican because of his money. Because of the money he makes and other Black Republicans that I know they speak the same language. They speak the exact same language. The average Black person on the street that doesn’t read, and doesn’t have friends that are Republican, they just look at it like “Oh Kanye, you’re crazy. This guy is crazy. Why are you voting for him?” They make it a Black and white thing. Politics is not black and white. It’s not black and white! Donald Trump was a Democrat. We are so quick to make it into that, like “Kanye, you’re not for the Black people.”
Then that goes into what Ice Cube is saying. “Black people shouldn’t assume the Black people are just going to vote for them.” It’s not a black or white thing. It shouldn’t even be addressed like that.
(AllHipHop News) It seems as though the divorce case of Andre “Dr. Dre” Young and soon-to-be ex-wife Nicole Young is just getting uglier by the moment.
And now accusations of embezzlement and fraud fly over a company that the two own.
According to TMZ, the Record One recording studio has sent a letter to Mrs. Young’s attorneys questioning where did all the money go?
Record One was founded in 2015 by three parties: the Youngs and Larry Chatman. Nicole is listed as a trustee and signatory on the LLC’s checking account.
The studio alleges that the money has been zapped and that Nicole siphoned the money with a recent withdrawal of $353,571.85.
The attorney for the business, Ed McPherson, sent the letter and a copy of a check from Nicole (written in her handwriting).
In the letter, McPherson states that there was “blatant and unjustifiable criminal embezzlement of corporate funds,” perpetrated by Nicole which in essence breached her fiduciary duties.
Dr. Dre and his partner want all of the money to be returned immediately.
Nicole’s people are firing back calling this a PR stunt.
“This is just a low-grade PR stunt by Andre and his team to try to change the fact that he was caught red-handed and sued for trying to cheat Nicole out of community property to which she is entitled,” her lawyer Bryan Freedman told TMZ. “There is no question that Nicole had both the contractual and the legal right to have taken this action and Andre’s team is well aware of this fact. Any suggestion she did something untoward is preposterous and pathetic.”
(AllHipHop News) Columbia Records is collaborating with the National Urban League civil rights organization to present Community Concert & Conversation. The platform was created to advocate for the economic and social justice of Black Americans and other minorities as well as to raise awareness of how COVID-19 continues to impact those communities.
Yvonne Orji will serve as host for the live-streamed event. The Emmy-nominated actress (Insecure) will be joined by “Hot in Herre” hitmaker Nelly, 2020 XXL Freshman Class member 24kGoldn, 19-year-old rapper StaySolidRocky, Bronx singer-songwriter Rileyy Lanez, Hijack EP creator Cochise, and more.
“Columbia Records is a family – from our colleagues, to our artists, and their families. We are continuously striving for peace, harmony, and equality across our endeavors as music plays an extraordinary role in healing and bringing people together,” says Jennifer Frommer, Senior Vice President, Brand Partnerships at Columbia Records.
Frommer continues, “We devised Community Concert & Conversation to not only elicit thoughtful and helpful conversation surrounding the impact of COVID-19 on the African-American community, but to lean into Columbia Record’s legacy in supporting social change through music. We are grateful to our partners, The National Urban League and VISA for their brave support and vision.”
Community Concert & Conversation is scheduled to stream on Columbia Records’ YouTube page on September 25 at 8:30 pm ET. Viewers will be prompted to donate to the National Urban League. In June, Visa announced a $10 million investment in a Visa Black Scholars and Jobs Program. The company also double matched employees’ donations, up to $1 million, to racial justice organizations including the National Urban League.
“Artists, particularly musical artists, have played a vital role in shaping social justice and civil rights since our nation’s founding,” said Marc H. Morial, President and CEO of the National Urban League. “We’re honored to join Sony and Columbia Records in upholding this distinguished legacy, and grateful to Visa for its ongoing support. We look forward to a dynamic and productive dialogue.”

(AllHipHop News) Keenon “YG” Jackson is preparing to release his fifth studio LP on October 2. The forthcoming My Life 4Hunnid will follow 2014’s My Krazy Life, 2016’s Still Brazy, 2018’s Stay Dangerous, and 2019’s 4Real 4Real,
YG provided an indication of what’s to come on My Life 4Hunnid by dropping the new track “Out On Bail.” In addition, the 4Hunnid Records head spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about the single and his next LP.
“When I’ve been putting out albums, my albums are always just me giving the people that listen, it’s a piece of my real life. This record, I’m putting this out first, outside of the album, because it’s really my truth, like what I’ve been dealing with,” explained YG.
He continued, “Like when I wake up every day and I go to sleep every day, tripping out, I got these types of problems that I’m dealing with, with police and with just everything. The court system and all that type of sh*t. And so I was like, this record represents the album to me. So I wanted to lead with this first so that people could have that realness before it’s time to turn up.”
The Compton-raised rapper also talked about the inspiration for My Life 4Hunnid. Supposedly, the musical spirit of another West Coast delegate shaped parts of the project. The late Hip Hop icon Tupac “2Pac” Shakur was an apparent motivation for the new collection of tunes.
“This album was highly influenced by Tupac. This is as far as the space I’m in and what I’m dealing with in life. He went through a lot of the stuff that I’m dealing with right now, and he was making records about it, and just the tone and the cadence of how he was coming up,” YG told Lowe.
He added, “Since I was playing with all the Tupac stuff, I had to go get somebody else who was influenced, highly influenced by Tupac. So I went and got Lil Wayne to sing with me on a song. I think it’s a song that everybody’s going to love, because it sounds like it’s some street sh*t, but Lil Wayne shot it like the 2008 way, 2007, 2006. He sounds like that. That song was called ‘Blood Walk.’ It featured Lil Wayne and my artist D3, but it’s fire though.”
(AllHipHop News) Armani Caesar is one of the rising rap stars that both the music industry and music fans have begun keeping an eye on. After dropping The Liz project last week, the First Lady of Griselda posted several photos on Instagram with YFN Lucci.
The suggestive bedroom photos had some of Caesar’s followers wondering if she is now dating the Atlanta rapper who used to be in a relationship with Lil Wayne’s daughter Reginae Carter. It turns out the pictures with Lucci were promo for the “Palms Angels” music video.
Just to make sure the public understood that her rapport with YFN Lucci was nothing more than business, Armani Caesar took to Twitter to give a brief statement about her relationship status. She simply wrote, “I’m single relax…”
The Liz hit DSPs on September 18. Caesar tapped her Griselda comrades Westside Gunn, Conway The Machine, and Benny The Butcher as guest features for the 11-track body of work. Her Lucrative Media-directed “Palm Angels” video is scheduled to premiere today on YouTube (September 24) at 10 am ET.
(AllHipHop News) In June, Kanye West announced he closed a deal with clothing retailer Gap. The multi-year partnership was said to include the Hip Hop superstar releasing a Yeezy line of apparel for men, women, and children with the publicly-traded company.
The Yeezy-Gap collection was expected to arrive in 2021, but West seems to be backing off from a specific ETA until his personal demands are met. On September 10, he tweeted about not being on Gap’s Board of Directors. West also pointed out his lack of a board seat for Adidas, the distributors of his Yeezy sneakers.
Overnight, West doubled down on his complaints about not having a position with the two corporations’ supervising organizations. This time the 43-year-old billionaire took it a step further by threatening to not support his own Yeezy items until he is recognized as a board member for Gap and Adidas.
“I’M WEARING JORDANS TILL I’M ON THE BOARD OF ADIDAS,” tweeted West, referring to the German sportswear manufacturer’s longtime business rival Air Jordan. Moments later, he posted, “I’M NOT RELEASING NOTHING ON GAP TILL I’M ON THE BOARD.”
When West declared he would walk away from his new deal in July, Gap Inc’s stock fell by nearly 6%. At the time, the G.O.O.D. Music boss stated at a public event for his fledgling presidential candidacy, “I am not on the board at Gap. And that has to change today or I walk away.”
(AllHipHop News) Over the last few weeks, Kanye West has been on a mission to get ownership of his master recordings. Questions were raised about whether Ye was taking on this fight for his own personal benefit or was he actually attempting to stand up for all musicians.
Some critics pointed out that while West was blasting Universal Music Group and other major record companies for alleged predatory contracts, he was also the owner of his own imprint that has possiblely signed unfavorable deals for its acts. Would the Jesus Is King performer actually do right by his own roster?
“I’m giving all Good music [artists] back the 50% share I have of their masters,” tweeted West on Wednesday. That message earned a reaction from G.O.O.D. rapper Big Sean. The Detroit 2 creator responded, “Thank you!!! This would help so much.”
At the moment, G.O.O.D Music is the label home for founder Kanye West, president Pusha T, Big Sean, Teyana Taylor, Cyhi The Prynce, and others. The Def Jam Recordings subsidiary also used to release music by Common, Kid Cudi, John Legend, Mos Def, and Desiigner.
It’s not everyday you’re able to create an entire project with Zaytoven, and Tracy T did just that. Teaming up with the legendary producer speaks volumes to Tracy’s talents as a rapper and MC, while most aspiring artists can only dream of landing a Zaytoven-produced record.
At 6 years old, the Decatur, Georgia native recalls Snoop Dogg’s “Gin and Juice” playing from his small boombox thinking “yeah, that’s going to be me.” At 7 years old, he was in the studio… and the rest was history.
Overcoming his own obstacles that come with being a product of his environment, real name Tracy Marrow released his first song ever in 2009. Later that year in December, he was shot 4 different times. The incident resulted in Tracy having to learn how to walk again, even losing his breath in his initial attempts to rap.
Fast forward to 2020, Tracy is vibrant as ever. Following his signing with MMG, he’s now celebrating his newfound independence as a recording artist. The joint EP is titled Time Machine, spearheaded by lead single “BLRRT.”
AllHipHop caught up with the Money Bound Entertainment founder, who described himself as “been around, still down, we still going up!”
AllHipHop: Being from Decatur, Atlanta, what was the household like growing up?
Tracy T: Lithonia, Decatur, it was all good. Seeing a lot of things, learning a lot of things. Learning what things to do. Learning the rights and wrongs, the do’s and don’ts. Growing up making the right decisions, wanting to get money. I was inspired by my upbringing, it was wonderful, It wasn’t beautiful but we made it beautiful, made the best out of it.
AllHipHop: At one point did you realize you could do it for a living?
Tracy T: I wanted to do it at 15. My patna could rap real good, I’m like “oh sh-t, lemme start rapping like that.” I’ve been doing it for a minute. I always thought I was good, but that comes with anything you do. You’re going to get better with time if you keep doing anything.
AllHipHop: I know you were shot & had to learn how to walk all over again a decade ago. How did you push through?
Tracy T: I got shot 4 times: in the chest, the side, the hand, the leg. Somebody tried to rob me. People try to rob people these days, people buck back. There was a shootout between me and somebody else, but I’m here baby. I’m here, I ain’t went nowhere. I’m back and better than ever, baby!
AllHipHop: How did you overcome that? It’s not easy to bounce back both physically and mentally…
Tracy T: Mentally fasho, it messed me up mentally. I’m still messed up mentally from that. It messed me up more mentally than it did physically. The paranoia be crazy.
AllHipHop: Have you ever considered therapy?
Tracy T: I just started thinking about that for real.
AllHipHop: How does music help?
Tracy T: I might have some anger built up, might be feeling some kind of way. When I go in the booth, let that sh-t fly. I come back out like “aite, I feel relieved.” It’s an outlet.
AllHipHop: “BLRRT” is a banger, was that done in the studio with Zay?
Tracy T: Fasho it was, Zay laced me up with most of the tracks. He let me get whatever track I want. I heard that beat, I’m like “oh sh-t, let’s see what I can do.” That’s my boy, we family. We go back. That’s one of the first studios I was in. We go back a long way. Before [MMG], me and Zay go back when Gucci and Zay first started doing sh-t. Before “I’m so Icy,” that’s when I was around. When Zay was staying in mama’s basement.
AllHipHop: How did y’all tap in so early?
Tracy T: He was up and coming, I was up and coming. He was trying to do his thing, I was trying to do my thing. When you’ve got the same goals, you rock with the same people.
AllHipHop: How has your guys’ relationship evolved since then?
Tracy T: He’s like a brother, Zay is a brother. As he got bigger, my name got bigger, we stayed down and kept it real. Still f-ck with each other like we did, nothing’s really changed. We’ve been closer, that’s it.
AllHipHop: How did y’all reconnect to do a whole EP?
Tracy T: Zay’s motivation, he’s a master motivator. We could be sitting there chillin’, “c’mon Tray, we finna use the studio. Let’s get to the studio. He calls me, “we finna do the whole EP. Let’s go, this thang hard.” Zay’s my dawg, he’s a good guy. If you’ve got a problem with Zay, you’ve got a problem with yourself.
AllHipHop: Who came up with the Time Machine concept?
Tracy T: That was all me. He just got the beats right, he did his part. After he got the beats goin, it’s up. That was done in the studio in Atlanta, we had a few sessions. Really, we had 15 songs. We were going to drop 10 songs but we narrowed it down to 5. Give them a lil bit more, then come right back again with some more.
AllHipHop: So you’ve got another project in the works?
Tracy T: F##ckin’ right! [laughs] This s##t’s really done already. It’s real dope man, we’ve been out here putting on for the streets with this sh-t.
AllHipHop: How des Zay Push you to be a better artist?
Tracy T: He gives you the motivation to g###### go and keep dropping. If he’s got the beats and he’s pushing you to go, if you arne’t going after the beats then you don’t want to rap. He’s going to flood you with them beats. He’s not giving you 2 beats. He’s giving you whatever he wants to give you, and it’ll about 50 of them. Even when I was young, I remember Zay used to give me CDs with 41 beats on them. Forreal every time I’d get a CD from him, 41 beats. He’s loading me up fasho.
AllHipHop: You say “buy back the hood,” talk about giving back to your people.
Tracy T: Buying back the hood is buying houses, property. Land around the way, build some sh-t up around there. It’s bigger than the music, you’ve got to get money everywhere. Get money all kinds of ways, from real estate to everything else. I look at every dollar to make another dollar. It’s not just rapping. They say “where you been Tray?” I’ve been doing other sh-t, it’s bigger than rap. Rap is a platform to do more things.
INLINE
AllHipHop: What else you got going on?
Tracy T: We’re working on a few things. Can’t talk about it yet, just make sure you support it. We’re going to take care of you when you come, treat you like family. It’s all good.
AllHipHop: Best memory from the “BLRRT” video shoot?
Tracy T: We had fake guns, but they look so real. One of my patnas came in. I copped it, aimed it at him. I squeezed it, pop! It made a lil noise, he got scared. [laughs]
AllHipHop: Bring us back to when you signed to MMG, how did Rick Ross find you?
Tracy T: Beat Billionaire, he’s a producer at MMG. I was working at Sonny Digital’s house, he took the music like “we made some hard sh-t, I’m taking it to Rozay.” Rozay called me 2 days later, “boy come on, let’s do it.” Sh-t was up ever since then.
AllHipHop: Those were the good old days, fondest memories from that era?
Tracy T: I had fun regardless. Some of my worst days were better than a lot of people’s birthdays man. [laughs] No bullsh-t, I had fun. I had fun with my life. I seen a lot of sh-t, did a lot of sh-t. My first time getting on a jet was with Meek Mill, that was cool. Meek put me on my first PJ, I didn’t know how to act. It was an experience, first time doing something. Watching everything, experiencing it, taking everything in.
AllHipHop: What’s your friendship like with Meek?
Tracy T: That’s my dawg. I saw him a week ago. We were chillin’ at a restaurant, talking and sh-t.
AllHipHop: He be in the A?
Tracy T: Yeah, fasho. He’s always out here. It’s up.
AllHipHop: Talk about having your own label, Money Bound Entertainment.
Tracy T: It’s the s##t forreal, we were young screaming that sh-t. That was my lil gang, Money Bound. I started taking that s##t serious as a label. I’ve got a few people. Everybody wants to rap. A lot of my homies want to rap, but I take this s##t real serious so I don’t play around with it. A lot of homies want to rap but if they don’t feel where I’m coming from, they’ve got to really take it seriously. I’m not playing. Just because you’re rapping, doesn’t mean you can rap on this label. I’d love to have everybody tied into it though.
AllHipHop: How’s it feel to be indie?
Tracy T: I love it, you get to move like a label. You have to have your label, that’s it. Move like a real label, do what you want. You’ve got to have a solid team, solid foundation. You don’t got that, there’s no sense in having a label.
One thing you want fans to get from the Time Machine EP?
The music they haven’t had, sh-t they’ve been missing. Something for the streets to get them through, something they can relate to to get them through their days. Not just partying, real music you can relate to.
AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?
Tracy T: Thug in rotation. I’m in rotation. I listen to Kevin Gates. I’ma say Lil Chad coming out from Houston. He’s in my rotation. I like good music. I like Bino [Rideaux] out of Cali, that’s my boy.
AllHipHop: Goals for yourself at this point of your career?
Tracy T: Jump this label out there, bring these artists up through there. That’s my main goal right now, getting these artists situated. Getting this sh-t right, getting this money. Money Bound!

(AllHipHop News) Outrage has erupted as nobody was held accountable for a no-knock raid that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old Black woman who was fatally shot by Louisville Metro Police.
Former detective Brett Hankison has been indicted on three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment in a no-knock raid that resulted in the death of Breonna Taylor. His fellow officers, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Detective Myles Cosgrove, who also participated in an attempt to serve a warrant were not indicted.
Ben Crump, attorney for the Taylor family, released a statement stating they were now “closer to justice.”
“Jefferson County grand jury indicts former ofc. Brett Hankison Breonna Taylor’s death, with 3 counts of Wanton Endangerment in 1st Degree! We urge @kyoagto accept this recommendation ASAP. While not fully what we wanted, this brings us closer to #JusticeForBreonnaTaylor,” Crump said on twitter.
Others expressed outrage through social media. Shaun King, the vocal social media activist, said the use of force that killed Breonna Taylor was not even addressed in the indictment. Breonna Taylor was not listed as a victim in the indictment.
Taylor was an EMT that was killed in her sleep, in her own home as three plainclothes Louisville police officers executed a “no-knock” warrant. Taylor’s boyfriend was the subject of the warrant, but he was already in jail. The cops went to his old address, which was where she resided in March when she was slain.
The latest developent is far from the result activists, protesters and citizens demanding justice were seeking. A wanton endangerment charge, a class D felony, has a maximum five year prison penalty.
Our current justice & policing system has failed. It has failed to keep us safe, even in our own homes. It has failed to protect Black people or stem the tide of racist police violence. And today, it has failed to deliver justice for #BreonnaTaylor. pic.twitter.com/StnlF11uzk
Attorney General Daniel Cameron, a Black man, justified not persuing the other officers in a press conference Wednesday afternoon.
“The decision before my office is not to decide if the loss of Breonna Taylor’s life was a tragedy. The answer to that question is unequivocally yes. I know that not everyone will be satisfied. Our job is to present the facts to the grand jury, and the grand jury then applies the facts … If we simply act on outrage, there is no justice. Mob justice is not justice. Justice sought by violence is not justice. It just becomes revenge.”
Carmen Perez, of the New York Justice League, responded to Cameron in a scathing statement.
A true miscarriage of justice.
Today’s decision to indict just one of the many officers responsible for the murder of #Breonnataylor is a reminder of why we chant #blacklivesmatter ! Louisville, and America as a whole has set the tone that it is okay to brutally murder Black Women and not be held accountable. We wholeheartedly resent that and are ready to disrupt every aspect of America’s Injustice system that upholds white supremacy and denies its responsibility in matters of systemic injustice. A system that allows Brett Hankinson, Myles Cosgrove, Jonathan Mattingly, and Joshua Jaynes to continue to avoid accountability and enjoy impunity.
We are reminded by the great Malcolm X’s words: “ if you stick a knife in my back 9 inches and pull it out 6 inches, that’s not progress. The progress comes from healing the wound that the blow made. They haven’t begun to pull the knife out.. they won’t even admit the knife is there.”
It’s time we divest from Policing as we know it, and invest in true safety and justice for Black and Brown communities. Our hearts are with @tamikalpalmer and the entire family of Breonna Taylor. We will continue to lift up this family and join the activists who’ve put their bodies on the line demanding justice for Breonna Taylor.
Get your knees off our necks, and your knives out of our backs.
(AllHipHop News) Taraji P. Henson was full of praise for pal Megan thee Stallion after the rapper was named in Time magazine’s list of the 100 most influential people in the world.
For the first time ever, the annual list was unveiled as part of an ABC TV special, with the “Empire” star honoring the “Hot Girl Summer” hitmaker with a written piece for the publication, plus a video tribute.
“I don’t like to put the stigma of the word ‘Strong’ on Black women because I think it dehumanizes us. But Megan – she’s got a strength. She is the epitome of tenacity,” Henson began.
“She was shot this summer and still people tried to tear her down,” Henson said, referring to an incident in July where rapper Tory Lanez shot her following a California party.
“It’s just invigorating to see her become a platinum-selling artist with multiple number-one songs, but she’s got a plan that’s much bigger,” Henson added. “And I just want her to keep winning. I love you, Meg.”
Reflecting on the honor, Megan opened up on her childhood, revealing she didn’t “hang around a lot of kids,” and that, “for the first eight years of my life, my dad was in jail.”
“We weren’t rich, but my mom made me feel like we were rich,” she explained. “Like, she took care of me, and my grandmother helped and my great-grandmother helped and they were working these regular jobs and they were just trying the best they could to just make me feel like I was a princess.”
The hitmaker also spoke about the uproar surrounding her new Cardi B collaboration, “WAP,” insisting she was “really taken back” that even politicians were weighing in on the discussion surrounding the explicit track.
“Like, why is this your focus right now? If you have an issue with what I’m saying, don’t listen to it. Tune out, ’cause I didn’t ask you to tune in,” she added.
“We have so many women in music right now, so, like, I just feel like it’s better to work together because we could really just take over all of this,” the star smiled.
(AllHipHop News) Cardi B has fired back at online speculation that she’s divorcing Offset after the Migos star was expecting a child with another woman.
Responding to talk that Offset potentially got another woman pregnant, she insisted: “People were just flooding me with… ‘Oh, Offset got a girl pregnant.’ And this is where the s##t came from. Ain’t that about a b##ch.
“That is why I be telling y’all to stop believing… what people be saying, these blogs are saying, especially blogs that have a certain type of hatred towards me.”
Cardi, who shares daughter Kulture with Offset, continued: “I want to address another bulls##t that I heard. Another blogger claims that I am getting a divorce for attention. And it’s like, you think I’m going to pay a lawyer 20 thousand f##king dollars?
“They’re like, ‘I just find it so funny that Cardi is getting a divorce around this time she got a record called ‘Me Gusta’ out’,” she mused. “First, of all, ‘Me Gusta’ is not even my record, it’s Anitta‘s record. So I’m not even getting a huge piece of the song.
“I get along with his mother very well. You think I’m gonna do that to her son for attention. Why do I need attention? You don’t see I have millions of f##king followers? Do you see that I have the number one song in the f##king world? Why do I need attention? Why do I need stunts?”
Over the weekend, Cardi took to the photo and video sharing site to tell fans she “doesn’t really need” their support amid her divorce because she’s “not shed one tear” since the couple parted ways.
(AllHipHop News) The City of Louisville is bracing itself for the potential civil unrest that may happen Tuesday night now that the decision regarding the police-involved killing of Breonna Taylor has been released to the public for the first time.
Today (September 23rd), just one of the three officers was charged, and even that seemed to be a slap on the wrist. Brett Hankison was hit with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and released on $15,000 bail.
Yesterday (September 22nd) the Louisville Metro Police Department barricaded the downtown area after the LDP declared a state of emergency.
Breonna Taylor’s supporters were asking for murder charges to be brought against the three police officers who shot her dead, as she was slept in her bed during an ill-advised of a drug bust after the cops raided the wrong apartment.
Breonna Taylor was only 26-years-old when Hankison, a member of the Louisville Metro Police Department, shot her on June 23rd.
There were two other officers involved in her death, Sgt. Jonathan Mattingly and Officer Myles Cosgrove have all been placed on administrative leave — not fired or charged.
Again, this Black woman was innocent of all crimes. The officers had the wrong information (people and location) when they entered her home that night.
(AllHipHop Rumors) Kodak Black better be careful! The Florida bread wrapper charge is that the Federal Bureau of prisons forced him to poop on himself and was the victim of torture.
This is an extremely serious matter. The rapper claims that the Bureau of prisons as well as the director of the Big Sandy maximum-security prison has mistreated him greately. This is an extremely serious situation that includes a “gang beating” on his personal being, he was bleeding from his mouth, put on his knees, lacerations, vomiting AND MORE.
Kodak is atoning for some sins, which is why he is in jail, but that does not mean he deserves to be treated like sh*t. Speaking of, he maintains they made him wear a backless gown. They then locked him in a room with no bathroom and made him poop and pee on himself. That’s just nasty!
What is he going to do? SUE.
You know this is real because they are suning just to get him into a better prison. Shout out to the legal team of Bradford Cohen, Robert Buschel, and Jonathan Schwartz. Oh yeah: Kodak wants his legal fees covered in the suit.
I know news is covering this, but I wanted to write about it too.
In February of 2017, Los Angeles rapper Annimeanz was introduced to rap fans as one of AllHipHop’s esteemed Breeding Ground spotlight artists. From time to time we will keep an eye out for these artists to see what has become of them since their Features. Some have gone on to big things like Ab-Soul from TDE and others have fallen out of the industry – and then there those who have continued to build and develop their careers like West Coast Hispanic artist Annimeanz. Since his Breeding Ground spotlight, Annimeanz has been further spotlighted in Los Angeles area outlets The L.A. Weekly and O.C. Weekly and took to the road to travel from California to states like Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas to build a base of Hispanic support. With Hispanics being the largest growing demographic in those states, Annimeanz put his focus not only on building up a fanbase but has also become one of the leading acts to evolve the sound of what is considered by the industry to be “Chicano rap” into a mainstream sound heard on the radio and in the cars of every hood in America. The release of videos and album projects from Cudahy Dopeboy I & II, The Murder Business, The Architect, Summer 19, and Crack Rock Soul reached a combined total of a million views on YouTube.
With his latest project Crack Rock Bounce, Annimeanz feels he is at a place where he deserves to be in the conversation with other top emcees coming out of the West Coast and when you listen to his album and how his flow and song structure have developed since The Murder Businesswas reviewed by us and given high remarks in June 2017, he has a case. Although Hispanics are a high demographic and many Latin artists have made a living selling to that audience, the genre itself has taken a backseat to the rap industry and has been treated like a step-child in many cases. Every once in awhile a station on the West Coast will show love to a song here and there. Annimeanz had some radio spins with his singles “Like The Westside” and “Bad 1” which was also picked up by The Core DJ’s and given their support. On the East Coast, Puerto Ricans have had artists break out into mainstream and radio but on the West Coast, it has been a long time since a Hispanic Mexican has enjoyed mainstream success. For the longest time the excuse has been that Hispanic/Chicano Rap was unrelatable to anyone outside that culture but with the sound that Annimeanz and other artists like Flight Mob are bringing, you have a new direction of a sound that is still cultured yet relatable for all hip-hop cultures to enjoy – kind of like how D Smoke makes music that the African American hip-hop crowd can feel yet manages to appeal to Hispanics at the same time.
The message is loud and clear with Crack Rock Bounce: West Coast Hispanics are here and they will not be ignored or treated as a sub-group in Hip-Hop. All things adapt and change and there is an entire new wave of young Latinos who can flow and craft songs for all to play and bump in their rides. Take a listen to Crack Rock Bounce and decide for yourselves if it’s worthy of your continual entertainment.
(AllHipHop News) Akeem “Guapdad 4000” Hayes’s lone entry on the Hot 100 chart came as a feature on “Costa Rica” off Dreamville and J. Cole’s Revenge Of The Dreamers III compilation. The star-studded track peaked at #75 on the Billboard rankings.
Guapdad 4000 spoke to Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1 about his own recently released Platinum Falcon Returns EP. During the conversation, the 28-year-old Californian also discussed his experience being part of the chart-topping, Platinum-certified ROTD3.
“That was the first time in my life where I got reassurance for my talent. That album really means something to me emotionally. All your life, even though you gotta have blind faith in yourself, there are still moments where you falter in your belief,” admitted Guapdad. “Being around all them n*ggas, me outrapping a lot of people, and seeing a lot of n*ggas fold, it was probably the greatest check I could ever have on my resumé.”
While promoting Platinum Falcon Returns, Guapdad 4000 is still concentrating on putting together more musical projects. The Zoink Gang member (with fellow Revenge Of The Dreamers III contributors JID, Smino, and Buddy) has two specific bodies of work that are supposedly on the way.
“I’m working on an album called The Glorious Falcon Death Dive. I can’t give you an ETA, because I’m about to drop an album with Illmind and 88rising. That’s what I’m focusing on finishing right now,” said Guapdad. “I still haven’t named it yet. It’s crazy. I got a record on there. I feel like I got one of them ones on there. I never felt like that before about a record… Might be my first one. And if it’s not, I’ll keep swinging. But I’ll swing extra hard on this one.”
Guapdad 4000’s forthcoming The Glorious Falcon Death Dive, as well as his untitled collaborative effort with East Coast producer Illmind and the Asian-centric 88rising media company, will follow other projects like Scamboy Color, Dior Deposits, and Platinum Falcon Tape, Vol. 1. The Platinum Falcon Returns EP arrived on August 14 with contributions from Denzel Curry, Deante’ Hitchcock, TyFontaine, and Boogie.

“This is my favorite project to date out of all my EPs, mixtapes, albums. I had to get back to the old me, the Hellgang Mozzy, and bring people that heat that talks directly to the streets,” says Mozzy. “My last album Beyond Bulletproof was something catered to the masses, but Occupational Hazard is for those who live a certain lifestyle.”

The California-based rapper continues, “With Occupational Hazard I want to let people know it’s not always velvet or rainbows at the end of the tunnel. When you choose to maneuver and make your money a certain way, there can be consequences that come with that, but own it, embrace it, don’t dwell on it. Know what you signed up for and take the ups and downs with pride.”
Apparently, Mozzy completed the 14-track Occupational Hazard in one month. The Oak Park representative released his latest LP via his own Mozzy Records and Empire. Beyond Bulletproof peaked at #43 on the Billboard 200 which became the emcee born Timothy Cornell Patterson’s highest-charting project of his career.
