Rae Sremmurd Celebrates Swae Lee’s Birthday By Performing “Swang” On ‘The Tonight Show’ (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Rae Sremmurd is still in the process of promoting the group’s sophomore album SremmLife 2.

Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday to perform  “Swang.”

Tonight Show house band The Roots assisted Rae Sremmurd during the set.

May 7 also happened to be Swae Lee’s birthday, and the Fallon team presented him with a cake backstage.

“Thanks Fallon haha it’s happy birthday backwards like Rae sremmurd is eardrummers I see what you did there,” wrote Swae in an Instagram caption.

Besides the platinum-certified “Swang,” SremmLife 2 also includes the #1 hit “Black Beatles” featuring Gucci Mane as well as the singles “Look Alive” and “By Chance.”

Migos’ Offset Allegedly Charged Cardi B How Much For A Feature?

Word on the curb is that Cardi B and Migos member Offset are no longer an item!

Butttttttttt guess why?!? Rumor has it that the breakup wasn’t over women. It allegedly was over MONEY!

According to a source close to the situation,

“Offset wanted to get paid for his feature, and she was playing games with that bag.”

I mean I could see how it would clearly be desirable for everyone to get paid, but Offset may have lost his mind with his alleged asking price of $250k.

I know Migos have heated up even more as they’ve had an incredibly successful year, but there is no way that’s what any of their members are asking for a feature, or are they? And how could you ask your girlfriend to pay that much for a feature? Issa lie!

Now I’m curious to know what Drake and Future are asking for features.

Gucci Mane & Keyshia Ka’oir Were Reportedly Being Eyed For This VH1 Reality Show Before Scoring BET Deal

(AllHipHop Rumors) Gucci Mane & his fiancee Keyshia Ka’oir have certainly been getting to it!

Earlier this week, it was announced that one of our favorite couples, The Wopsters, would officially become a part of the BET family when they revealed that their wedding would be filmed by the network.

The special will be an 8-episode series that will document Keyshia and Gucci’s preparation for their big day on October 17th. #1017!

Gucci will reportedly be paid $400,000, and Keyshia will be receiving $250,000. That’s not all though! BET will be paying for their $1 million wedding. I just need my invite!

While BET and The Wopsters worked out a good deal, the network’s sister company, VH1 apparently lost out.

According to TheShadeRoom, VH1 lost out on the bid because they allegedly wanted the couple to agree to sign on to join the cast of Love and Hip Hop Miami before they agreed to take care of their wedding special.

Apparently, The Wopsters weren’t feeling that, but they won because now they have their own show, and a free wedding. I’m just trying to be in attendance. I know it’s going to be LIT. LOL.

Chris Brown has revealed that his dream collaboration at this point in his career would be with none other than Queen Beyonce! That’s not all though. He says he’d also like to do some kind of dance-off or sequence with her “for the culture”.

“At this point it’s all about trying to do some legendary sh-t! Obviously the top female performer is Beyonce. So for me that would be epic if we did some dope dance sh-t. Just for the culture…. She gonna represent though. She gonna do her thang. You know ima do my thang too. She dope, and I’m dope,” said Brown.

While this obviously could be epic, it actually may never happen because despite Breezy’s continued success musically, he still has a damaged reputation.

Fans seem to feel that Chris should dream on, and that he ruined his chances of such a collaboration after beating Rihanna in 2009.

I’m pretty sure Jay Z is still NOT over that. There’s no doubt that Breezy and Bey are two of the biggest artists on the planet, but it seems like this may NEVER happen.

Petty! Drake Responds To XXXTentacion Getting Jumped!

I swear if XXXTentacion was a bigger artist, Drake would have truly washed this man.

Drizzy is certainly not a fan of the Florida rapper as XXX accused Drake of jacking his style and flow, in some of his earlier releases this year.

I guess karma may have caught up to XXTentacion as he got jumped at one of his recent shows. I’m not quite sure why he hasn’t beefed up his security especially after Wifisfuneral got jumped at one of his shows.

Drake is seemingly getting in on the petty of XXXTentacion being roasted for getting jumped. On social media you can damn near see everyone’s every move, especially that of celebrities, and Drake decided to like a few posts that poked fun at XXX getting that azz rocked off the mic literally.

You know it’s bad when the artists are the ones getting harmed.

In other Drake news, the 6 God is also rumored to be dating Nick Young’s ex, Paloma Ford. You know Drake likes to love them and leave them, so it’s probably just a fling. Carry on.

Diddy & Suge Knight Reportedly Approve Of 2Pac Biopic ‘All Eyez On Me’

(AllHipHop News) Tupac Shakur is the central figure in All Eyez On Me, but there are a lot of other characters connected to the Hip Hop icon’s story that will be part of the biopic.

According to TMZ, two of those people have given their stamp of approval for the Benny Boom-directed motion picture.

AEOM producer L.T. Hutton reportedly reached out to Bad Boy founder Sean “Diddy” Combs and Death Row founder Marion “Suge” Knight.

Diddy apparently enjoyed the film and agreed to The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Who Shot Ya?” being part of the soundtrack.

Since Knight is currently incarcerated, he was not able to watch the movie.

However, the Compton representative supposedly heard a description and was supportive of his portrayal.

“I talk to Suge every day. This is not a one-sided story. 2Pac had multiple sides, and we would do this movie a disservice if we didn’t have all those sides. You’re going to see the full 360 circumference of Tupac,” Hutton told AllHipHop.com in 2014.

Dominic L. Santana appears as Suge Knight in Eyez, and Stefon Washington plays Diddy aka Puff Daddy.

Demetrius Shipp Jr. takes on the role of Tupac.

The cast also includes Danai Gurira (Afeni Shakur), Jamal Woolard (The Notorious B.I.G.), Kat Graham (Jada Pinkett), Annie Ilonzeh (Kidada Jones), and Jamie Hector (Mutulu Shakur).

All Eyez On Me is scheduled for release on June 16.

Tidal & Sprint To Offer Customers Free 6-Month Trial And Help Provide Internet Access To 1 Million Students

(AllHipHop News) The business union between streaming platform Tidal and telecommunications giant Sprint is now presenting benefits for consumers and learners.

Starting on June 9, new and existing Sprint customers will be able to get six months of free Tidal HiFi service.

“We recognize that music streaming is one of the most important services for consumers,” states Sprint President/CEO Marcelo Claure. “More than two-thirds of mobile subscribers stream music an average of 45 minutes per day, making our partnership with Tidal a natural fit for Sprint and our commitment to offering innovative, affordable and worry-free service.”

He adds, “We’re providing our customers and anyone who signs up for Sprint a complimentary six-month trial of Tidal HiFi so they can experience all the unique and exclusive content Tidal has to offer.”

Members will gain access to Tidal-only programs such as Hip Hop Improv with Cipha Sounds, Mack Wilds’s AfterHours miniseries, and the upcoming 4:44 film project starring Mahershala Ali.

In addition, the platform allows users to stream 48 million music tracks, 175,000 videos, celebrity-curated playlists, and live concerts.

Tidal and Sprint are also supporting the Sprint Foundation’s 1Million Project.

The initiative is working to provide 1 million low-income American high school students with free mobile devices and high-speed wireless internet for up to four years as a way to help eliminate the “homework gap.”

To support the 1Million Project, Sprint will donate $2 (up to $1 million) from every new line activation with a device purchase or lease.

“Education is key to a bright future, and unfortunately not everyone has access to the tools and resources needed to succeed, including internet access and mobile devices,” says Tidal artist-owner, Nicki Minaj. “I’m so proud to work with Sprint and Tidal, who are prioritizing programs like the 1Million Project in order to ensure that a student’s zip code and family financial situation aren’t roadblocks to a successful future.”

2 Chainz Addresses His New York City Listening Party Getting Shut Down

The Atlanta-bred rapper posted messages on Twitter and Instagram about his listening event apparently being ended early.

TDE President Punch Blasts DJ Akademiks Over Comments About SZA

(AllHipHop News) Top Dawg Entertainment president Terrence “Punch” Henderson is not happy about some of the things Everyday Struggle co-host DJ Akademiks had to say about his artist.

Before TDE’s SZA appeared on the Complex News show, Akademiks answered questions online about why the songstress was being interviewed on the program.

“I didn’t vote for SZA. But f-ck it, she’s coming on. I’m gonna rock with it,” said Ak during a video chat. “I like SZA. But what the f-ck is there to talk about? I don’t know, man. I guess her album being delayed.”

The popular internet personality also referred to her as “one of them Amazon b-tches.”

SZA later appeared on Everyday Struggle for over 50 minutes, but Akademiks did not repeat his previous statements while she was there.

Following the show, Punch called out Ak on Twitter over his comments about the CTRL album creator.

“This n-gga weird bruh lol. Kind of a clown. I’m not sure yet though,” posted Punch on the social media site. “Nah he’s a full blown clown. I wish I would’ve seen that link before we went up there.”

SZA also responded to DJ Akademiks on her own Twitter feed, “Shoulda said this sh-t this morning. Still don’t regret being nice to you. Peace.”

 

“4:44” Tidal Ads Connected To NC-17 Movie Starring Mahershala Ali & Lupita Nyong’o (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Much of the Hip Hop world was questioning if the mysterious “4:44” images that popped up online and around New York City were clues a new Jay Z album was on the way.

Sorry Hov fans, it turns out the Tidal ads were connected to a forthcoming NC-17 film starring Mahershala Ali (Moonlight), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years A Slave), and Danny Glover (The Color Purple).

A 1-minute spot about the Tidal-exclusive movie aired during game three of the 2017 NBA Finals.

Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure then offered more information about 4:44 via his verified Twitter account.

“Excited to bring [Sprint] customers exclusive content through our partnership with [Tidal] – more news coming tomorrow!!” tweeted Claure around 11:39 pm ET on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Sprint acquired 33% of Tidal.

The deal was reportedly worth $200 million.

XXXTentacion On Getting Attacked During San Diego Show: It Was Like 10 N-ggas (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Last night, things got wild at XXXTentacion’s “Revenge Tour” stop at San Diego’s Observatory North Park.

Footage of the Florida native getting punched during his performance emerged on the internet.

A person is seen running onto the stage before striking XXX in the face.

Security guards then rushed to help the “Look at Me” rhymer as more people began fighting around them.

XXXTentacion was eventually carried off the stage.

He later tweeted, “Security and venue set me up, I got sucker punched and knocked out, it is what it is… next time make sure you kill me so I can’t talk sh-t.”

XXX also addressed the situation in a video posted online.

“It wasn’t one n-gga that snuffed me out,” he can be heard saying in the clip. “It was like six n-ggas or ten n-ggas that came on stage, and my team beat their f-cking ass.”

Fans at the show began chanting “F-ck Rob Stone,” leading to speculation that the San Diego rapper and XXX rival was involved in the on-stage attack.

As of press time, there is no official confirmation Stone was involved.

However, that did not prevent Rob Stone’s name from becoming a trending topic on Twitter early Thursday morning.

According to reports, one individual was stabbed during the melee inside the venue, and police are investigating the incident.

XXXTentacion was not the victim in the stabbing case.

Ice Cube Talks Politics and Police On His New Song “Good Cop Bad Cop”

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Ice Cube is taking aim at police and a new song titled “Good Cop Bad Cop.”

The N.W.A member who created “F### Tha Police” in 1988, dropped the new song in anticipation of the 25th anniversary re-release of his classic album Death Certificate.

Death Certificate was recorded during the tense political climate in the United States, after the Rodney King beating in 1991, when George Bush Sr. was President.

“The same weight under a Trump Administration is starting to feel the same way as it did when daddy Bush was in the White House,” Ice Cube said of his new song “Good Cop Bad Cop.”

“It was the weight of all those policies geared against poor people who were trying to pull themselves up,” Cube continued. “I feel like that same attack is happening against the most poor and vulnerable people. That same ugliness is starting to rear it’s head again.”

Ice Cube just signed a new deal with Interscope Records and the label is preparing to release the 25th anniversary edition of Death Certificate, which will be released on June 25.

The song “Good Cop Bad Cop” is one of three unreleased tracks included on the upcoming collection. The others are the songs “Only One Me” and “Dominate The Weak.”

Rich The Kid & Jay Critch Preview “Rich Forever 3” With A New Single

Statik Selektah Talks Joey Bada$$ Collaborating With Sean “Diddy” Combs

Joey and Diddy have been seen in Instagram photos together, leading users to wonder if music between the two New Yorkers is on the way.

“We up to something,” wrote Bada$$ on IG.

The Brooklyn emcee’s longtime production partner Statik Selektah was a guest on A Waste of Time With ItsTheReal podcast, and he spoke about Joey’s new connection with Diddy.

According to the Boston-bred DJ, Combs met Bada$$ during Kendrick Lamar’s performance at the Rolling Loud Festival in May.

“They ended up getting real cool. The rest of the week we were in the club with him every night,” said Statik. “We were at his crib. I don’t want to give away too much, but we had a real good time. Puff was real welcoming.”

He added, “The way Puff was talking to Joey was reminiscent of that Bad Boy, Brooklyn – it was a good vibe… Something amazing is going on with that.”

Statik Selektah provided tracks for the Joey Bada$$ albums B4.Da.$$ and All-Amerikkkan Badass.

The Roc Nation affiliate’s own 8th studio LP is expected to arrive this summer.

Man Says Vivica Fox Stole His Strippers, His Show, And Tried To Ruined Him

(AllHipHop News) Vivica A. Fox is been hit with a lawsuit, claiming she stole the idea for a black male stripper show and then dissed the real owner on social media after he distanced himself from her.

Jean Claude LaMarre and “Black Magic Live” filed a lawsuit against Vivica earlier this week, claiming she’s engaged in a conspiracy to ruin his reputation.

LaMarre says the whole thing started when he teamed up with Vivica to produce the stripper show “Vivica’s Black Magic,” which was based on LaMarre’s all-male review, “Black Magic Live” and his documentary “Chocolate City.”

Things started to go south, when Vivica told The Breakfast Club that her Lifetime reality show was for females and not intended for gay males, enraging the LGBT community.

LaMarre says he did an interview with TMZ.com in an attempt to defend Vivica, but that only p##### her off.

As a result, LaMarre began distancing himself from Vivica, which resulted in a 75-date tour based on the reality show “Vivica’s Black Magic” being scrapped.

Vivica one want to create a competing show called “Xplicit Minds” and stole four of his five dancers.

Things only escalated to the point of a lawsuit, when Vivica would not stop slandering Lamar on social media, and claiming that his new “Black Magic Live” review was a fraud.

Now he’s dealing with this in court, and suing for libel, slander breach of fiduciary duties and is seeking damages that will be determined by the court.

Peep Why Drake & The Dream Haven’t Collaborated Since “Shut It Down”

In 2010, The Dream collaborated with Drake on “Shut It Down” on his ‘Thank Me Later’ album. As seven years have passed with no follow-up collaborations, fans have wondered why haven’t the two gotten in the studio together. During an installment of Genius Level, The Dream finally revealed all!

“Shout out to Drake and what he’s done with his career. I’m just a real student of how these things go. I remember when Drake was putting this record together.I was getting calls, after calls, after calls. I said I’ma do the record, soon as I get to a place Ima do it. I’m on tour. Drake called like yo like this is how I want it to sound. I’m like Drake I’m going to do this record how I’m gonna do it. I’m going to give it back to you the same way you sent it with your verse….The record came out great, you know I think…. I think when the next album came along since, somebody wants to know why we never worked again, I asked him to get on a record, and he never got on the record. I’m only going to ask you once especially if I’ve already done something for you. So that went through his people directly to him, and whatever that thing was, then that was it. So that’s the end of the Drake & Dream era of a record,” said The Dream.

Diddy Says He Has No Desire To Be A Billionaire

(AllHipHop News) Sean “Diddy” Combs would rather focus on being happy than becoming mega-rich.

In addition to his music career, the hip-hop star oversees several entrepreneurial ventures, including clothing label Sean John, two restaurants, a vodka business and an equity stake in Revolt TV.

While Forbes estimated Combs’ net worth at $820 million earlier in 2017, the star claims it’s not his ambition to make a billion dollars.

“No, it’s not (a goal),” he said during an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!.” “My goal is to be happy.”

The 47-year-old is a millionaire many times over and noted he does like to splash his cash on luxury items.

But one of his favorite purchases has to be the fully stocked “candy room” he has had installed in his home.

“I mean, from a kid every day after school I would go to the candy store, you know. And then one day I would also walk around downtown in New York and as I got older, I saw this Dylan’s candy store, and it just took me back to my younger age. And I just – I’m a young soul, and I just need some candy in my house. So I made a candy room,” he said, adding that he’s particularly fond of wild cherry Jolly Ranchers and blue Sweet Tarts.

The rap mogul also spoke about his new documentary, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story,” which chronicles Combs’ and his record label Bad Boy Entertainment’s rise to the top of the music business in the mid-’90s.

Speaking about the project, the star explained he hopes it will inspire other young performers to follow their dreams.

“My life has been something I think can inspire dreamers. And I’ve always been a dreamer, and I’ve always just wanted to be at a certain level of excellence. So that’s what that’s about,” he said.

“Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story” will be released on June 25 by Apple Music.
