Detroit’s Ashwin Gane Unleashes ‘Twilight Tales’ & Redefines Trap Music

Ashwin Gane isn’t just releasing music. He’s engineering worlds. The Detroit-born, Indian-American phenom is stepping into the spotlight with Twilight Tales, an orchestral trap odyssey set to drop August 1, signaling his arrival as one of the boldest new voices in the genre.

With more than 6.5 million streams, 5 million video views, and a growing fanbase that’s packing out venues, Ashwin’s doing it all without a major label, industry co-sign or compromise.

“This isn’t just an EP,” Gane tells AllHipHop. “Every track is a chapter. Every lyric is a strategy. It’s a blueprint for survival in a cold world.”

He’s got 808s fused with haunting pianos, ghostlike choirs and auteur-level visuals – Christopher Nolan vibes. Twilight Tales isn’t just an EP. It’s a full-blown cinematic anthology in 10 parts. Each track builds on the previous track.

“I made this for those who lead quietly and win loudly,” he said.

Leading the charge is “Leeches,” a gut-punch of a single that dissects betrayal with bone-chilling precision. The music video, which racked up over 160,000 views in 10 days, looks more like a short film than your average trap visual. “Energy” has over a million views on YouTube. The EP includes the Billboard-charting “Regret It”, unreleased heaters like “Drowning” and “All Away,” and two cinematic remixes that push the boundaries of production and emotion.

If the music wasn’t enough, Ashwin is taking Twilight Tales to the people. He’s currently hitting Texas and Oklahoma on Phora’s Yours Truly: Texas Takeover Tour with dates in El Paso, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, OKC, and Dallas. And on August 16-17, he returns home for Ashwin Gane Presents Dream Cruise, an immersive live experience in Detroit.

And his reach is only growing. This fall, Gane will bring his cinematic trap saga to the NFL and NBA with scheduled halftime performances at the Chargers’ SoFi Stadium and the Clippers’ Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.

Ashwin co-created Twilight Tales with Grammy-winning writer Poo Bear and R&B disruptor Justin Love.

He calls it “Mythic Trap,” a new genre altogether. With roots in Detroit and cultural bloodlines that stretch to South Asia, Ashwin Gane is positioning himself not just as a cultural architect.

Ashwin Gane is offering listeners a full cinematic experience, one chapter at a time.

Twilight Tales drops August 1 on all platforms. Pre-save it here.

Tyler, the Creator’s latest album, Don’t Tap the Glass, dropped without warning on Monday (July 21) and still managed to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 197,000 equivalent units sold in just four days, according to Luminate. The off-cycle release didn’t slow momentum, and Tyler acknowledged the moment in an Instagram Story earlier this week.

“Thank you to everyone who chose to give this a listen,” he wrote. “Announcing it just two days prior and reaching number one in such a brief period means a lot. Thank you. Spread the word!”

Meanwhile, Chromakopia, his eighth studio album, officially went Platinum in mid-July, marking over 1 million units sold in the U.S.

The project, which dropped on October 28, 2024, opened at No. 1 with nearly 300,000 album-equivalent units and has become his fastest album to reach Platinum status.

The Chromakopia World Tour kicked off on February 4 and spans 64 dates across North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia. While the U.S. leg is now complete, Tyler will continue performing at festivals before heading to Australia in mid-August.

Meek Mill Calls Out Shannon Sharpe’s ESPN Exit After Lawsuit Settlement

Meek Mill weighed in on Shannon Sharpe losing his ESPN role this week, just days after settling a high-profile rape lawsuit.

The Philly rapper hopped online with his blunt reaction late Wednesday night (July 30). He wrote, “Yall too old to be getting fired fr.”

The comment came hours after news broke that Sharpe would not return to ESPN, following the resolution of a $50 million civil lawsuit filed in April by a woman identified as “Jane Doe.”

Sharpe addressed his departure on his “Nightcap” podcast Wednesday (July 30). He revealed he had asked ESPN to delay the announcement until after his brother Sterling Sharpe’s Pro Football Hall of Fame induction.

“The only thing that I really asked is, ‘Guys, could we wait until Monday? My brother’s going into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. I really want it to be about him and I want it to be about my family,” Sharpe explained. “I said, ‘This coming out will overshadow everything he’s worked his entire life for.’ And, unfortunately, it didn’t happen that way.”

Sharpe added, “They did what they felt they needed to do, I’m at peace with that. I just wish this thing could’ve waited until Monday because I hate the fact that I am overshadowing my brother.”

The suit, lodged in Nevada, accused Sharpe of sexual assault, battery and inflicting emotional distress during alleged incidents in late 2024 and early 2025.

Sharpe denied the allegations through his legal team, calling the relationship “entirely consensual” and describing the lawsuit as a “shakedown.”

The case was settled in July, though the terms were not made public. No criminal charges have been filed.

ESPN has not issued a formal statement on the decision or its timing, though multiple outlets confirmed the separation followed the settlement.

Meek Mill Faced Backlash Over Photos

Back in April, Meek Mill caught heat online for posting a photo with two White female fans shortly after the lawsuit against Sharpe became public. Critics accused him of being tone-deaf. Meek dismissed the backlash, writing, “It’s a regular pic with fans. Internet melting the minds of the black community wthelly.”

Sharpe had taken a break from ESPN after Doe filed the lawsuit. However he had initially planned to return for the 2025 NFL season.

EXCLUSIVE: Megan Thee Stallion Wants Tory Lanez Sanctioned For Refusing To Explain Crazy Deposition

Megan Thee Stallion is urging a Florida federal judge to penalize Tory Lanez after he failed to explain his erratic conduct during a court-ordered deposition in her ongoing defamation lawsuit.

Megan’s attorneys have asked the judge to impose sanctions on Lanez for ignoring an April 17 order that required him to justify why he should not be held in contempt. The order followed a deposition on April 9 that quickly unraveled into what Megan’s legal team described as “bad faith” conduct.

Lanez is currently incarcerated in California, where he is serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion. He was formally served with the order but never responded by the April 30 deadline.

Megan’s lawyers noted that no hearing has been scheduled yet and have now filed a formal notice to move the process forward. They are asking the court to force Tory Lanez to cover all legal fees related to the deposition and to appoint a special master—at Lanez’s expense—to oversee any future testimony.

If that’s not granted, they’ve requested a hearing as soon as possible.

The deposition, conducted via Zoom from prison, was part of Megan’s $10 million defamation case against YouTuber Milagro Gramz.

The lawsuit accuses Gramz of spreading false claims about Megan’s mental health, honesty under oath and alleged substance abuse, allegedly in coordination with Lanez and his father.

During the deposition, Tory Lanez repeatedly interrupted proceedings, mocked the process and insulted Megan’s attorney, Mari Henderson.

At one point, he said, “Your hair is distracting me. There’s a reason for what I am asking. Your hair is distracting me.” He also added, “She should have waited to wait for that hair dye. It is the wrong blonde.”

He challenged Henderson’s authority to question him and made sarcastic remarks about basic legal terms. When asked to define “meet,” Lanez launched into a tangent: “Meat could be a hot dog; meat could be a steak.”

The deposition was cut short after about an hour due to his refusal to cooperate.

Just weeks after the failed deposition, Tory Lanez was stabbed 14 times inside the California Correctional Institution in Tehachapi. The May 12 attack left him with collapsed lungs and multiple injuries to his back, torso, head and face. He has since recovered enough to breathe without assistance.

The court has yet to schedule a hearing on the contempt motion.

Dr. Dre’s Mixing Console Used For Iconic Albums Breaks Auction Record

Dr. Dre‘s legendary SSL 4000 G+ mixing console used to craft era-defining albums by Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent, JAY-Z, Snoop Dogg, Gwen Stefani and Mary J. Blige  fetched $165,000 at auction, setting a new high-water mark for Hip-Hop studio gear.

The sale, handled by memorabilia platform The Realest, shattered the previous record of $69,000 held by RZA’s E-mu SP-1200 drum machine, which was used on Wu-Tang Clan’s 1993 debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers).

The console, currently on display at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, was purchased by collector Ryan Zurrer, who shared his excitement on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Grateful to pick up the signature instrument that Dre took the time to perfect the beat… brought the oldies, taught you to smoke trees… still DRE,” Zurrer posted. “This iconic part of hip-hop history will be available to the public (at the Hip Hop Museum)—because it ain’t no fun if the homies can’t have none.”

The auction, titled “Straight Outta the West Coast Hip-Hop,” also featured memorabilia from N.W.A’s DJ Yella,  Snoop Dogg, Xzibit and others. Items included DJ Yella’s RIAA plaque for Straight Outta Compton, handwritten lyrics by Snoop and signed scripts and art proofs from Xzibit.

The Realest, known for authenticating and selling rare collectibles, works with major sports leagues like the NFL and NBA, as well as entertainment brands including NBC/Universal, Paramount Pictures and artists like J Balvin.

A pioneering force in Hip-Hop, Dr. Dre rose to prominence with N.W.A. before launching a solo career that redefined West Coast rap. His 1992 debut, The Chronic, became a cultural milestone, and his production work helped shape the careers of Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar. Dre’s influence extends beyond music into business, with his Beats by Dre brand becoming a global success.

Ryan Coogler & Regina King Teaming Up On Harlem Horror? “Bitter Root” Rumors Swirl

Regina King. Ryan Coogler. Monsters. Harlem in the 1920s.

This is reportedly happening, people. As Sinners continues its successful run, we have another one on the horizon. The energy brewing right now could an epic conversion from a most daring comic book to the big screen. Yes, an incredible adaptation is on deck, according to reports. Word on the street is Bitter Root, the award-winning comic, is getting the Hollywood treatment. The series blends horror, history and Hip-Hop-level swagger together. You saw the names. There are powerhouses pushing this to the light.

Bitter Root is set in 1924 Harlem and follows a Black family of monster hunters. But these aren’t your average monsters. They’re called Jinoo and they’re born from hate and racism. When hatred takes over a human soul, it literally transforms them into a creature. And this family, which has its own trauma and beliefs, has to come back together to stop the evil.

According to internet reports, Regina King is directing and producing the movie. Yes, Regina King, who we love from 227. She’s all grown up and has pushed out classics like One Night in Miami and Watchmen.

Ryan Coogler and wife Zinzi Coogler are allegedly producing it under their banner Proximity Media with Sev Ohanian. David F. Walker, Sanford Greene and Chuck Brown. Bitter Root‘s creators are reportedly locked in as executive producers. That means the source material will be right and exact.

The script is being retooled as we speak and there’s no release date yet. I’m thinking this will be like Jordan Peele-style social horror set in the Harlem Renaissance. One source told me, “It’s gonna flip the superhero genre on its head.” I’m here for it.

Bitter Root is not your typical capes-and-costumes flick. It’s comic pulp meets politics. With Regina King at the helm, this could be the film that changes how Hollywood handles our stories. Well, Sinners kind of did that already, but we can always take a few more.

Here are some pics of the Bitter Root (Middle: David F. Walker and Sanford Greene) crew and the AllHipHop squad (Chris Brown and Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur) a few years ago.

Keefe D Begs Supreme Court To Dismiss 2Pac Murder Case—Claims Snitching Was Protected

Keefe D wants out of his murder case, and he’s telling Nevada’s top court that his years of snitching should’ve kept him safe from ever getting charged.

The 62-year-old Duane “Keefe D” Davis is trying to get his case tossed, saying he had a deal with law enforcement that protected him from getting jammed up after talking about what really happened the night Tupac Shakur got gunned down in Vegas in 1996.

Keefe’s legal team is pressing the Nevada Supreme Court to shut the case down, claiming his old cooperation with cops came with promises that his words wouldn’t get thrown back at him.

But those same interviews, confessions and even his book are now the backbone of the state’s case against him.

“Mr. Davis cooperated with law enforcement over the course of more than a decade, relying on repeated assurances that his statements would not be used against him — yet those very statements now form the core of the state’s case,” his lawyer Carl Arnold told ABC in a statement. “That is a clear due process violation. This case is under scrutiny both nationally and internationally. In such a high-profile prosecution, it’s critical that our justice system not only uphold the law, but be seen to be fair, consistent, and constitutional.”

The murder case, which sat cold for nearly three decades, came back to life after Keefe started talking in interviews and dropped a memoir, Compton Street Legend, laying it all out.

Prosecutors say he ran point on the hit, handed out the gun and rode in the car that pulled up on Tupac and Suge Knight near the Vegas Strip on September 7, 1996.

Tupac Shakur, 25, was shot four times and died six days later. Suge Knight was grazed and survived.

Hours before the shooting, Pac and his crew had jumped Keefe’s nephew Orlando Anderson inside the MGM Grand. Cops say that the fight triggered the revenge hit that killed the rap legend.

Keefe, a known Crips shot-caller from South Central, got indicted in 2023 and locked up in Vegas. He’s pleaded not guilty and is still sitting behind bars waiting for trial, which got pushed to early 2026.

He also made headlines claiming Diddy offered him millions to take out Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight. Diddy has consistently denied any part in the hit and hasn’t been charged.

Keefe’s defense says there’s no physical evidence, no eyewitnesses and no corroborating evidence to support the confessions.

Now, the state’s highest court will decide if Keefe’s snitch deal covers him, or if he’s finally gonna face a jury.

Karrueche Tran, Coach Prime & Internet Side-Eyes: Are They Dating Or…Godfamily?

Karrueche Tran and Deion Sanders have the Internet all caught up. It’s a mess out here. First came the tears, then came the bedside vigil. Now comes the rumor that has me rubbing my temples. People are saying Karrueche Tran is really Coach Prime’s goddaughter. WTHELLY?

Let’s run it back.

Last week, Karrueche Tran was front and center in a new docu-series, For Your Glory, produced by Deion Sanders Jr. In the footage, the actress/model was seen weeping at the hospital as Sanders underwent surgery to remove cancer from his bladder. It was hard to watch. She held his hand and asked the hard questions. All we saw was a devoted partner or really invested family member. The internet chose… the former. But then there are the rumors.

The dating rumors are hitting harder than Ray Lewis. Folks can’t help but mention the 20-year age gap. Deion Sanders is 57 (almost 58). Karrueche Tran is 37 and glowing. He’s recovering from a major surgery. She’s in what society insists is her “prime.” Love can come in different forms, people.

But it does get murky. What if she’s actually his goddaughter? The chatter was that Karrueche Tran’s father was once a football player and that’s how she and Sanders became family. Based on what I have looked up, (which is simply Google), it’s not checking out.

A post shared by AllHipHop (@allhiphopcom)

Digi-archives don’t show any substantial info about her father being in the NFL or even affiliated with Deion Sanders. Honestly, her dad has been respectfully absent from the public eye or something else…just M.I.A. The court of public opinion is still looking. Social media detectives have been dusting off old Karrueche Tran pics, digging through vacation shots and questioning it all. They say she’s trying to “secure the bag.”

Sanders definitely has a bag to be secured. He’s worth somewhere from $45 million to $70 million. Either number makes him one of the most valuable coach/influencers in the country. Neither Karrueche Tran or Coach Prime have said a word.

Honestly, I just hope he’s got someone solid by his side. Whether she’s the girlfriend, goddaughter or just a compassionate companion. If Karrueche Tran is there for love—good. And if she’s not? Well, as long as she’s helping him heal—keep it up. Keep his spirits high. They are both deeply religious and that might be the true connective tissue. This has to be a spiritually, emotionally and physically grueling recovery. God can get us through all things.

Coach Prime is reportedly staying in the game. Personally, I’d like to see him get some real rest. But if he’s gonna keep pushing, he’ll need support. We’ll stay on this one.

MAGA Melts Down Over Oprah Winfrey’s Road In Maui During Tsunami Alert

Oprah Winfrey became the center of a swirling online controversy after social media users accused her of blocking evacuees from using her private road in Maui during a tsunami scare triggered by a powerful offshore earthquake.

The magnitude 8.8 quake struck off the coast of Russia, prompting tsunami alerts across several regions, including Hawaii, Japan and parts of the U.S. West Coast.

As thousands of Hawaiians scrambled to reach higher ground, gridlock gripped the island. Amid the chaos, rumors spread that Winfrey had refused to open her gated access road in the Kula region, where she reportedly owns 1,000 acres.

Her team wasted no time shutting that narrative down.

“As soon as we heard the tsunami warnings, we contacted local law enforcement and FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) to ensure the road was opened,” a spokesperson told The Mirror. “Any reports otherwise are false. Local law enforcement are currently on site helping residents through 50 cars at a time to ensure everyone’s safety. The road will remain open as long as necessary.”

The backlash surfaced quickly on platforms like X and Instagram, where users accused the media mogul of prioritizing privacy over public safety. The claims, however, were not supported by local authorities.

According to BBC News, Hawaii’s tsunami warning was later downgraded to an advisory, with officials anticipating strong currents and minor coastal flooding rather than a full-scale disaster.

By Tuesday night (July 29), Hawaii Emergency Management Agency director Stephen Logan confirmed that evacuees were cleared to return to their homes.

EXCLUSIVE: Roc Nation CEO, Daughter Set For Courtroom Showdown That Includes Meta Rep

Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez will face off with her daughter Demoree Hadley during a hearing in Miami on Thursday (July 31) as part of a high-stakes legal clash over alleged violations of a social media gag order tied to a bitter family lawsuit.

The showdown is set for 2 P.M. before Magistrate Judge Lauren Louis, where Perez‘s legal team will argue that Hadley knowingly broke a court directive by posting restricted content online, including a controversial video and interview clips.

The courtroom drama stems from a lawsuit Hadley filed in May 2025, accusing her mother—the CEO of Roc Nation—of orchestrating her involuntary psychiatric commitment under Florida’s Baker and Marchman Acts.

Hadley claims Perez falsely reported she was suicidal and abusing drugs, which led to her being hospitalized for nearly two weeks.

In the same suit, Hadley also alleges Perez interfered in her marriage by falsely accusing her husband of domestic violence. Perez and Roc Nation have denied all claims and filed motions to dismiss the case and strike specific allegations.

Tensions escalated after the court issued a gag order on June 25, 2025, barring Hadley and her husband from making public statements about the case.

Roc Nation argues that Hadley ignored the order by sharing clips from an interview she conducted with online personality Tasha K, which went viral and drew intense online scrutiny

Roc Nation claims the post was designed to embarrass Desiree Perez and provoke public backlash.

Hadley insists the post was an accident. She says Tasha K tagged her as a collaborator, which automatically published the video to her Instagram page. According to Hadley, she removed the post as soon as she realized it violated the order.

Roc Nation contends the move was intentional and claims it led to a surge in threatening messages directed at Perez and her legal team, including death threats.

The situation worsened when Hadley posted a second video featuring a private conversation between Perez and her stepsister.

The footage, allegedly obtained through a home security system owned by Perez, included discussions about Roc Nation and personal matters unrelated to the lawsuit.

To support their case, Roc Nation plans to call multiple witnesses, including Alistair Thompson from Guidepost Solutions LLC and a representative from Meta Platforms Inc.

Hadley and her husband, Javon, may also be asked to testify to verify the authenticity of the social media posts.

Hadley’s attorneys argue the post was not deliberate and say their client acted quickly to comply with the court’s order. They plan to challenge the severity of the accusations and oppose any disciplinary action.

Perez is asking the court to issue a new order forcing Hadley to delete all related posts and banning her from sharing any further content about the case.

The court may also impose sanctions on Hadley, including possible contempt charges.

The outcome of the July 31 hearing could influence the direction of the broader lawsuit, which is scheduled for a jury trial on October 5, 2026.

Shannon Sharpe Cut From ESPN After Rape Allegation Settlement

Shannon Sharpe has officially parted ways with ESPN less than two weeks after settling a civil lawsuit in which a woman accused him of rape and abuse during their relationship, according to The Athletic.

The former NFL star and media personality has not appeared on the network since late April, shortly after the $50 million lawsuit was filed. ESPN has not issued a public statement regarding his departure.

The civil complaint, filed in April by a woman identified as Jane Doe, alleged that Sharpe sexually assaulted her twice—in October 2024 and January 2025—during a relationship that began in 2023, when the two met at a Los Angeles gym. She also claimed he recorded their intimate encounters without her consent and made threats of violence.

Sharpe denied the accusations, calling the lawsuit a “shakedown” and asserting the relationship was consensual. His attorney, Lanny Davis, said Sharpe had previously offered $10 million to settle the matter before it was filed, but the woman declined.

Last week, the woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, announced the case had been resolved and dismissed with prejudice, meaning it cannot be refiled. No terms of the settlement were disclosed.

Sharpe had previously stated he intended to return to ESPN in time for NFL training camp. That return obviously won’t happen.

Before his media career took off, Sharpe made his name on the football field. A three-time Super Bowl champion, he retired in 2003 as the NFL’s all-time leader among tight ends in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns—milestones later surpassed. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011.

Following his retirement, Sharpe transitioned into broadcasting, gaining widespread attention as co-host of FS1’s Undisputed alongside Skip Bayless. After leaving that show in 2023, he joined ESPN and launched two successful podcasts, Club Shay Shay and Nightcap, both of which drew millions of subscribers and featured high-profile interviews.

Ozzy Osbourne Gets King-Worthy Send Off With Thousands Attending Funeral Procession

Ozzy Osbourne drew tens of thousands to the streets of Birmingham on Wednesday (July 30) as mourners lined Broad Street to honor the late Black Sabbath icon with a public funeral procession following his death on July 22 at age 76.

The hearse carrying Osbourne’s casket passed the Black Sabbath Bridge, where his widow, Sharon Osbourne, and their children Aimee, Jack and Kelly Osbourne stepped out to take in the sea of tributes left by grieving supporters. Sharon, visibly emotional and looking dangerously frail, leaned on her children as they walked together. After a few quiet minutes at the bridge, she turned to the crowd and raised Ozzy’s trademark peace sign.

The crowd erupted into chants of “Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy, oi oi oi!” and “Thank you, Ozzy” as the family returned to the vehicle. Purple floral arrangements spelling out “Ozzy” rested atop the casket. A private memorial was scheduled for later that day at an undisclosed location, limited to close friends and family.

Earlier in the day, a local brass band kicked off the procession with renditions of Osbourne’s classics, including “Iron Man.” The tribute followed Osbourne’s final public appearance in Birmingham earlier this month during “Back to the Beginning,” a farewell concert celebrating Black Sabbath’s legacy. Though seated due to spinal injuries and Parkinson’s disease, Osbourne attended the event and was described as being in good spirits.

Ozzy’s death marked the end of a decades-long career that helped shape heavy metal and redefine rock performance.

Known for his haunting vocals and theatrical stage presence, Osbourne rose to fame in the 1970s as the frontman of Black Sabbath. With tracks like “Paranoid,” “War Pigs” and “Iron Man,” the band laid the foundation for heavy metal. Osbourne later found solo success with hits like “Crazy Train” and “Mr. Crowley,” and became a pop culture fixture through his reality TV show, The Osbournes, and his unfiltered public persona.

Concerns have also grown around Sharon Osbourne’s health following her emotional appearance at the procession. Supporters online expressed worry after seeing her visibly distressed and physically leaning on her children. Sharon, 71, has previously spoken about her own medical issues, including a hospitalization in 2022. She has lost a drastic amount of weight in the interim, and fans are worried she could suffer further health complications due to Ozzy’s death.

“Seeing Sharon so fragile at the Black Sabbath bench, standing in front of all the tributes, completely shattered it was so hard to watch,” one person wrote. “She looked like a woman holding herself together by a thread, surrounded by so much love and yet completely lost without him.”

Another added, “Sharon Osbourne is inconsolable. Mannnn, i hope she survives the heartbreak. She really loved Ozzy.”

GloRilla Reclaims Her Checkers Roots With $4 Meal Deal Collab

GloRilla flipped burgers before she flipped the script on her career, and now she’s back where it all started—this time on the menu.

The Memphis rapper has teamed up with Checkers and Rally’s to launch her own limited-time combo called the “$4 Unbeatable Meal Deal,” a nod to her early days working the drive-thru before her rise in Hip-Hop.

The fast-food chain rolled out the partnership Tuesday (July 29) on Instagram with a post that read, “Glo Da P ain’t ever steered you wrong — 4 items for $4?! Pick one (Cheese Double, Spicy Chicken, or Glo’s BBQ Jacked Burger), add fries, a drink, AND apple pie. That’s a full plate for a lil’ price. Pull up NOW.”

The collab is more than a marketing move—it’s a personal milestone. GloRilla, born and raised in Memphis, worked at a Checkers location in 2016 while finishing high school.

“Checkers is where I got my start, and now I’ve got a meal deal with my name on it,” GloRilla said in a statement. “Life comes with ups and downs, but this moment means a lot to me. I’m grateful to Checkers & Rally’s for riding with me—and trust, it’s all the flavor and all the fire, for just four bucks.”

GloRilla’s Checkers Deal Marks Full Circle Moment

A resurfaced video shows her taking orders at the drive-thru, long before she became a Grammy-nominated artist.

Now, she’s not just serving food—she’s starring in a national campaign. The rollout includes a commercial series titled “One Big Collab,” spotlighting her journey from employee to brand partner.

The timing couldn’t be better. GloRilla has been trending for more than just her music.

She recently posted videos flaunting her gym gains in revealing outfits. “Natural no bbl,” she captioned one clip. “But I’m still gone give em hell.”

She also rang in her 26th birthday with a Cabo getaway, where she was spotted getting close with NBA player Brandon Ingram.

Just days earlier, she hosted the first-ever “GloRilla & Friends GLO Bash” on Friday (July 25) at FedExForum in Memphis—a full-circle moment that brought her back to the city where her career began.

That concert followed her arrest on felony drug charges following a police search of her home..

Doja Cat Roasts Fan Over Breast-Shaming Comment In Savage Livestream

Doja Cat went off during a livestream when a viewer complained she was showing “too much f###### boobs,” firing back with a sarcastic takedown that left little room for misinterpretation.

“Is it hard for you?” she asked with a laugh. The Grammy winner leaned in further, mocking the viewer’s discomfort with a deadpan delivery.

“Is it difficult to sit there and watch me exist?” she added. “Are you scared of what you’re feeling? Are you scared of how I make you feel?”

She didn’t stop there continuing to troll the fan. “I can’t believe people get mad at boobs,” she added, clearly amused. “You’re here because this is where you wanted to be.”

The livestream moment added to Doja Cat’s growing list of viral clapbacks. The rapper and singer has been open about her body, including a 2023 breast reduction and liposuction procedure that brought her down to a 32C.

Doja Cat Maintains Her Stance On Sydney Sweeney Controversy

Elsewhere online, she doubled down after taking a swipe at Sydney Sweeney’s controversial American Eagle ad, which used a pun on “genes” and “jeans.”

Critics accused the campaign of promoting outdated beauty ideals and racial undertones, pointing to the emphasis on Sweeney’s blue eyes and blonde hair.

Doja Cat mocked the ad in a viral TikTok, mimicking the script in a cartoonish country accent.

“Genes are inherited from parents to children… My jeans are blue,” she said, parodying the tone of the original spot.

After one social media user suggested she stay quiet, she clapped back again. She replied, “I should always talk and I will continue to.”

X/Doja Cat

However, she faced renewed criticism from social media users who referenced the 2025 backlash over allegations that her boyfriend, white streamer J. Cyrus, was racist and abusive. Other past controversies include her involvement in alt-right chatrooms, laughing at racist jokes, and wearing a T-shirt featuring comedian Sam Hyde, who has been linked to the alt-right.

Akon Exposes Former Friend As Scammer—Gets Called Out Right Back

Akon called out a former associate this week in a scathing video, accusing Be.I of fraud and deception — but Be.I fired back, claiming their fallout was more about a woman than money.

The Grammy-nominated artist posted a video earlier this week alongside a photo of Be.I.

“Look at this face,” he began. “He go by the name of Be.I. He’s a fraud, a scammer. Literally a imposter, a straight-up leech.”

Akon continued, “He has no moral ethic as to who he steals from. He will come to you, gain your trust and scam you, flat out.”

He warned anyone who may have done business with Be.I to act fast.

“If you gave him money, go back and retrieve it because you’ve been scammed. He’s not going to deliver,” Akon added. “He’s gonna run away with it.”

The “Locked Up” hitmaker also made it clear that Be.I has no ties to his companies.

“He is not affiliated in any way with Konvict Muzik or Kon Live Distribution, or any Akon-affiliated system,” he said.

He described Be.I as a “superfan” who pretended to be part of his inner circle and labeled him “evil” for misleading people under the guise of being connected to Akon’s brand.

“So whatever you do, if you’ve done business with this man under the Konvict umbrella, get your money back. You’ve been scammed,” Akon added.

He also denied any family ties to Be.I and said the man is not authorized to conduct business on his behalf.

Be.i Responds To Akon, Claims Fallout Over A Woman

But Be.I wasn’t about to stay quiet. He responded by posting several video clips of Akon wishing him a happy birthday, questioning the “superfan” label.

While Be.I admitted to making “mistakes,” he flipped the script and questioned who was really a “scammer,” pointing to Akon’s failed $6 billion Akon City project in Senegal and claimed he helped “bury” skeleton’s in the singer’s closet.

He also claimed their relationship soured over a woman. According to Be.I, he was casually seeing someone Akon later developed feelings for, which allegedly led to a shift in their dynamic. Be.I said Akon “switched up” on him after that.

“I did some dumb s###,” Be.I admitted, but argued that others in Akon’s crew had done worse without being publicly called out.

Akon City, once promoted as a futuristic smart city powered by cryptocurrency, was officially scrapped by the Senegalese government. In May, officials confirmed the project “no longer exists” due to missed payments and stalled development.

Joey Bada$$ Blasts His Label For Blocking New Album In Scathing Rant

Joey Bada$$ unloaded on Columbia Records during a heated Instagram Live session Tuesday night (July 29), accusing the label of blocking the release of his long-awaited album Lonely At The Top just days before its scheduled drop.

“I’mma just rip the band-aid off for y’all, man. Listen, man. Bad news. Got some terrible news. The album is not dropping on Friday,” he told viewers, referring to the planned August 1 release date.

The Brooklyn rapper vented his frustration over the delay, saying he was “ashamed” and extremely “disappointed.”

He made it clear the project had been finished and ready for weeks, but claimed the label was the only thing standing in the way.

“My s### got pushed back because the label pushed my s### back,” he added. “My album is signed, sealed, and delivered over a month ago. This ain’t cause of no sample clearances, this ain’t cause of no features, this ain’t cause of no clashing with another artist on the date. This is literally an Exhibit A of the label getting in the artists way.”

Joey Bada$$ Claims Label Only “Get In My Way”

Joey said he takes “full responsibility” for the delay but made it clear where the blame lies.

“I’m signed to Columbia Records,” he explained. “But for the longest time, I just ain’t been f###### with them. Because all they do is get in my way, they really don’t f###### contribute to nothing.”

He described himself as “independent” and “self-sufficient,” adding that he’s been making “it happen” on his own since he was 17.

The album, Lonely At The Top, would be his first full-length project since 2022 and follows a string of high-profile Hip-Hop diss tracks targeting West Coast rivals.

The lead single “ABK” dropped earlier this month and was performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live on July 16.

As of Wednesday (July 30), no new release date has been confirmed. The project remains in limbo.

Chaos Erupts As Sex Toy Hits WNBA Court In Wild Final Minute

A bizarre moment of chaos erupted during the Golden State Valkyries’ 77-75 win over the Atlanta Dream when a bright green sex toy was hurled onto the court Tuesday (May 15), halting play and setting social media ablaze.

The unexpected toss came in the final minute of the fourth quarter with the score tied 75-75.

As players scrambled across the hardwood, the object landed near the action, prompting a brief continuation of play before officials stopped the game. Security quickly stepped in, using a towel to remove the item while a uniformed officer examined it on live television. Cameras zoomed in before abruptly cutting away.

Social Media Explodes After WNBA Sex Toy Toss

No one was hit, but the moment left players visibly confused and fans online in disbelief. The incident, rare even by professional sports standards, immediately became the talk of the internet.

“Throwing a d#### on a WNBA court is a different level of wild,” one user posted on X, formerly Twitter.

“The d#### on the floor at the wnba game is not funny to me ,” another user shared. “I hate to ruin the ‘fun’ but that don’t seem creepy and assaulty and overly freaked out and dangerous to you?”

A third chimed in with humor, saying, “I wanna ask how you sneak a d#### into the game but I don’t wanna know the answer.”

Reactions ranged from amused to disturbed, with some calling for the person responsible to be banned or penalized.

Others zeroed in on the broadcaster’s decision to briefly show the object, criticizing the network for lingering on the shot before cutting away.

Despite the disruption, the Golden State Valkyries held their composure. Cecilia Zandalasini nailed a jumper with 3.9 seconds left, sealing the win in a tense finish.

The WNBA has not issued a statement regarding potential consequences for the fan who threw the object.

Donald Trump “Seriously” Weighs Diddy Pardon Ahead Of October Sentencing

Donald Trump is reportedly giving serious thought to granting Sean “Diddy” Combs a full presidential pardon before the incarcerated Hip-Hop mogul’s sentencing date on October 3, following his federal conviction earlier this year.

Diddy was found guilty in July on two counts tied to the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting individuals across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of more severe charges involving racketeering and sex trafficking. With time already served, he faces a likely federal prison term of two to three years.

According to Deadline, sources close to the situation say conversations about a pardon have escalated in recent days.

Allies of Diddy have reportedly been lobbying behind the scenes, and the White House is now treating the matter as an “actionable event.”

While no official decision has been made, speculation is swirling that Trump’s interest in the case may be politically motivated.

Some insiders suggest the former president is looking to redirect attention from his own legal controversies, including renewed scrutiny over his ties to Jeffrey Epstein.

Diddy Pushes For Release On $50 Million Bond

Diddy’s legal team is also pushing for his release on a $50 million bond while awaiting sentencing. They argue that his continued detention at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn is unjust, citing unsafe conditions and comparing his treatment to other similar cases.

Judge Arun Subramanian previously denied bail, pointing to what he described as a “years-long pattern of violence” and a lack of convincing evidence that Diddy poses no threat to others.

Trump has not issued a formal statement on the matter, and neither has the White House. All current details stem from off-the-record sources and internal discussions.

Back in May, before the verdict was handed down, Trump addressed the possibility of a pardon during a public appearance.

“I would certainly look at the facts,” he said. “If I think somebody was mistreated, whether they like me or don’t like me, it wouldn’t have any impact on me.”

At the time, Donald Trump said no one from Diddy’s team had requested a pardon, but added, “I know they’re thinking about it.”

He also admitted, “I haven’t been watching it too closely,” though he acknowledged the case had drawn significant media attention.

Trump also noted that he hadn’t spoken to Diddy in years, saying their relationship changed after he entered politics.

Where Is Collective Outrage Over Chris Smalls’ Assault In Israeli Custody?

Activist Chris Smalls Beaten and Detained by Israeli Forces During Gaza Aid Mission As U.S. Media Remains Silent

People in the Hip-Hop community may not be familiar with the name Chris Smalls, but he’s pretty famous. He’s the Amazon union activist who once stood in the White House alongside former president Joe Biden. That distinction didn’t help him in Israel. Smalls was reportedly beaten and detained by Israeli forces Saturday (July 26) while attempting to deliver aid to starving Palestinians in Gaza. He and others were aboard the Handala, a ship operated by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition. He was the only Black person on the boat. All others were returned unharmed. How?

According to the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, Smalls was the only Black activist aboard the ship when Israeli Defense Force troops intercepted it in international waters. They took the 20 activists into custody. By the way, all of it was documented on social media. It was shocking and harrowing. I thought they were going to be taken and held. Graphic images released by the group show the activists with their hands raised as soldiers boarded the vessel.

On Monday (July 28), the organization revealed Smalls was violently assaulted after his arrest.

“The Freedom Flotilla Coalition confirms that upon arrival in Israeli custody, U.S. human rights defender, Christian Small, was physically assaulted by seven uniformed individuals,” the organization wrote on Instagram. “They choked him and kicked him, leaving visible signs of violence on his neck and back.”

Smalls has been featured in The New York Times, CNN, GQ and other major U.S. media outlets. But, it seems most of them have ignored the incident. Smalls linked with Biden in 2022 after his union victory inspired workers across the country. The Times wrote so eloquently about his fashion sense in the style section, but things have changed just a few years later.

These same legacy outlets have remained quiet about the alleged injustice. The IDF must have journalists on the payroll. Only a few reported on this.

“This totally makes sense,” wrote Nathan Kalman-Lamb, a professor at the University of New Brunswick, on Bluesky. “A notable public figure in the US (Amazon labor organizer Christian Smalls) is illegally arrested by Israel and subjected to severe physical violence while on a hunger strike… and not one US media outlet of any type has decided that is news.”

I smell sarcasm.

Organized labor unions have been quiet as well, by and large.

The California Faculty Association isn’t one of them. It represents 29,000 workers. “We further call for an immediate end to the engineered famine and deliberate starving of the people in Gaza, labor complicity with genocide, and all US military aid to Israel,” the union said.

The Teamsters said nothing. In fact, president Sean O’Brien allegedly spent the weekend promoting a chat with right-wing commentator Vivek Ramaswamy. Ramaswamy, who once opposed the president, is a favorite among Trump supporters. Suddenly, it begins to make sense.

The labor unions and the media seems complicit in ignoring Smalls’ beating and detention. They may bash the president or align with him, but they will not cross that invisible line. How long many international human rights violations must occur until we admit that media silence is a powerful form of complicity?

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition has called for the end to the humanitarian blockade of Gaza. And now, the pressure mounts on political and labor leaders to join them.

5 Things Every Artist Should Do According to Rapper-Turned-Manager Phresher

Talent alone isn’t enough in today’s music industry. Plain and simple. Much more is required of artists in this climate. Artists need strategy, presence and adaptability to stand out. Phresher, a one-time Brooklyn rapper, was known for hits like “Wait a Minute” and collaborations with Remy Ma and Eminem. But now, Phresher is making waves in artist development and management. Trading in the mic (for now), he’s focused on mentoring the next generation and helping young artists navigate the game.

The path to success looks drastically different than it did just a few short years ago. Artists today have to be part musician, part content creator and a whole brand. Phresher chatted with AllHipHop’s Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur and dropped real gems for artists trying to make it.

1. Don’t Be Afraid to Pivot
Phresher isn’t retired from music, but he is evolving.

“A lot of people are afraid to pivot,” he said. “But I saw a loophole in the game: artist development.”

His move into management wasn’t just about paperwork and booking shows; it’s about building artists from the ground up. If your path changes, adjust your playbook, but keep the passion.

2. Artist Development is Everything
Being an artist is way more than just making music. Phresher stresses showing up, knowing how to talk, interview and, most importantly, how to respect the game. “You gotta be outside. Touch the people. You can’t win being Hollywood at home.”

The grind doesn’t stop, but you have to be professional in all the ways these days.

3. Move Beyond Instagram – TikTok and YouTube Matter
“Instagram doesn’t matter,” Phresher declared. “Build your TikTok. Build your YouTube.”

TikTok and YouTube give artists the best shot at organic reach, fan building, and relevance. Stop chasing likes. Start building impact.

4. Stream and Collaborate
“Every artist should be a streamer now,” he said. Whether it’s Twitch, YouTube Live, or IG Live, fans want to see you. New artists should stream your lifestyle and your music in those streams. Also, don’t limit collabs to your own circle. You have to step outside your neighborhood and build bridges.

5. Be You—Unapologetically
“You can’t fit in and stand out at the same time,” Phresher said.

He likens each artists to the uniqueness of fingerprints. Individuality is a superpower. Authenticity separates timeless artists from temporary ones.

💡 BONUS: “Out of sight, out of mind,” he implored. Stay visible. Events, interviews and streams all matter for your brand.

Whether you’re just getting started or leveling up, Phresher’s advice is a masterclass in artist longevity. Be strategic. Be active. Be yourself.
