Freestyle Fellowship Rallies Around Darryl “JMD” Moore After L.A. Fires Destroy Home

Renowned jazz drummer and producer for groups like Freestyle Fellowship and the Pharcyde, Darryl “JMD” Moore, is among the many artists who’ve lost everything to the Los Angeles wildfires raging across the city.

On Tuesday (January 14), Moore shared a video of the devastation that destroyed his Altadena home and, as a result, is getting major support from his collaborators, including Myka 9 of Freestyle Fellowship, Project Blowed and Haiku d’Etat.

“Our fellow brother @og_jmdarrylmoe musician , actor, community leader and producer/drummer of countless LA HipHop groups , jazz records including ‘Inner city Griots’ was one of the hundreds of houses engulfed recently in Altadena,” an Instagram post from Freestyle Fellowship reads. “If you wanna donate to him and his family there’s a link (in our blowed bio above) and Thank You if u have already!!!

“There is also a benefit for JMD tomorrow aligned with @myka9 birthday celebration at @escalaktown so u can come through Wed Jan 15th and contribute there as well. As mentioned, Myka 9’s birthday celebration is Wednesday (January 15) at the Escala K-Town restaurant beginning at 9 p.m. PT and will double as a fundraiser. Guests include DJs Jeremy Sole, Freestyle Fellowship’s Kiilu Grand and DJ Zu. All proceeds will go toward Moore and his family.

A GoFundMe launched in Moore’s name has already collected more than $16,000 with a goal of $18,000.

“I am Bishop Henry Joseph,” the description reads. “I have known Darryl Moore since kindergarten. He has lost his house to the fires in Southern California. Yes, let’s pray for him and his family, then let’s do something to help. Formed in the late ’80s, Freestyle Fellowship is comprised of Aceyalone, Myka 9, P.E.A.C.E. and Self Jupiter, with DJ Kiilu Grand as their primary DJ and producer. The group is widely recognized as pioneers of the West Coast underground Hip-Hop movement. They’ve been credited with influencing numerous artists and groups, including Jurassic 5, the Pharcyde and Kendrick Lamar.

Their debut album, To Whom It May Concern… (1991), set the stage for their unique style, blending conscious themes and verbal dexterity. The follow-up album, Innercity Griots (1993), is considered a classic, praised for its innovative approach. Over the years, they have released other projects, both as a group and through their individual solo careers.

Though they never achieved “mainstream” commercial success, Freestyle Fellowship remains one of the most respected and influential Hip-Hop groups in the genre’s history.

The Weeknd Cancels Concert & Delays Album Due To Wildfires

The Weeknd is pausing his next big chapter as California grapples with the havoc unleashed by relentless wildfires.

The artist revealed on Instagram that he would delay the release of his highly anticipated album Hurry Up Tomorrow and cancel an upcoming concert at the Rose Bowl stadium in Pasadena.

Los Angeles, a city that has long inspired his music, is now a community in desperate need of support, The Weeknd said.

“Out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles County, the Rose Bowl Show has been cancelled and the album date has been postponed to 01.31.25,” he wrote. “With love, Abel.”

The Canadian star’s sixth album, originally scheduled to drop in January, will now arrive on the last day of the month.

The decision comes as Southern California confronts a staggering toll from an onslaught of 23 wildfires stretching across the region.

Thousands of buildings have been reduced to ashes, 25 lives have been lost, and an estimated 180,000 residents have been forced to flee.

As the flames devour landscapes and upend communities, The Weeknd shared his thoughts in a heartfelt post, extending his support to those impacted.

“The city has always been a profound source of inspiration for me, and my thoughts are with everyone impacted during this difficult time,” the 34-year-old said. “My focus remains on supporting the recovery of these communities and aiding its incredible people as they rebuild.”

Fans who purchased tickets for the canceled January 21 concert through Ticketmaster will be issued refunds.

However, The Weeknd’s decision to postpone and cancel isn’t entirely isolated.

Across Los Angeles, a wave of events—including live shows and pre-Grammy celebrations—have been scrapped as organizers prioritize safety amid the unfolding crisis.

Despite the widespread cancellations, the Grammy Awards ceremony is still on track for February 2 at Crypto.com Arena.

Hurry Up Tomorrow will mark the final act of The Weeknd’s trilogy that began with 2020’s After Hours and continued with 2022’s Dawn FM.

Fans will have to wait just a little longer for the next installment, and for many, it’s a postponement that feels grounded in compassion.

Diddy Update: Jodeci Member Gets Major Win In Assault Case

Founding Jodeci member Devante Swing has been removed from a sexual assault lawsuit filed against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs.

Filed by Liza Gardner, the lawsuit claimed she was sexually assaulted by Diddy when she was 16, with allegations of Swing’s involvement sparking controversy.

In a legal filing submitted through her attorney Tyrone Blackburn, Gardner announced her decision to “voluntarily dismiss all claims” against Swing without prejudice.

This means Gardner reserves the right to refile accusations against Swing in the future. While the dismissal may seem like a victory for the singer, it doesn’t necessarily suggest exoneration.

The lawsuit included explosive claims that Swing acted as Gardner’s “co-guardian” during the time of the alleged assault and contributed to the situation’s creation.

Gardner accused Swing of trafficking her across state lines from North Carolina to New York and New Jersey, supplying her with alcohol and marijuana, and “prostituting” her to Diddy.

She also said that Swing was present in the room during the assault and failed to intervene.

Gardner’s lawsuit included a witness statement from a friend who said that Swing was observed “leaning against the wall or furniture or something, watching whatever Puffy was doing to Liza.”

The lawsuit accused Swing of aiding and abetting Diddy in the alleged assault.

Swing, who has not publicly commented on being dropped from the suit, has yet to respond to these claims as of the latest updates.

Drake’s New Defamation Lawsuit Claims Dubbed “Illogical” In Universal Music Group’s Response

Drake’s latest legal moves are being categorized as an effort to “silence” his fellow artist in a statement released by Universal Music Group (UMG).

After withdrawing his legal petition against Spotify and UMG on January 14, Drake’s legal counsel turned around and filed a lawsuit against UMG claiming they mounted a campaign to devalue his name and music by boosting Kendrick Lamar’s ”Not Like Us” diss track.

In addition to claiming they knew Lamar’s allegations on the song were untrue, the lawsuit alleges UMG knowingly instigated the beef for profit by promoting the song in a multi-pronged global marketing ploy that enlisted bots, streamers and content creators and entire platforms.

In a response an official with UMG shared with Variety on January 15, not only does the label deny Drake’s claims have any validity, it also suggests he’s using the lawsuit to stop Lamar for doing what they’ve helped him do to other artists his entire career.

“Not only are these claims untrue, but the notion that we would seek to harm the reputation of any artist — let alone Drake — is illogical,” the statement reads. “We have invested massively in his music and our employees around the world have worked tirelessly for many years to help him achieve historic commercial and personal financial success.”

As the statement continued, UMG accused Drake of attempting to “weaponize” the legal system through his recent filings. “Throughout his career, Drake has intentionally and successfully used UMG to distribute his music and poetry to engage in conventionally outrageous back-and-forth ‘rap battles’ to express his feelings about other artists,” the statement read. “He now seeks to weaponize the legal process to silence an artist’s creative expression and to seek damages from UMG for distributing that artist’s music.”

The statement concludes with UMG seemingly taking up sides with Lamar while also staking their claim to fight the legal battle against Drake to the bitter end. “We have not and do not engage in defamation — against any individual,” the statement reads. “At the same time, we will vigorously defend this litigation to protect our people and our reputation, as well as any artist who might directly or indirectly become a frivolous litigation target for having done nothing more that write a song.”

Donnell Rawlings Explains “Sus” Photo With Diddy, Russell Simmons, Dave Chappelle & More

Donell Rawlings provided a hilarious, lengthy and somehow complex answer to an interview question about a viral photo of himself with a number of celebrities at an event with Diddy years ago.

On Wednesday (January 15), Rawlings appeared in a new episode of Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay Podcast, which is where the explosive conversation occurred.

The nearly 15-minute exchange was kicked off after Sharpe pressed the comedian and actor about a throwback photo in which he appears to be sitting between the legs of Diddy, who has Simmons and Dave Chappelle under each arm as other celebrities such as French Montana surround them in a group.

While the image sparked plenty of chatter online, Rawlings took the opportunity to explain the backstory with his signature humor, and ended up sharing a candid story about his experience at one of Diddy’s parties.

“I ain’t even know he was back there,” Rawlings joked. “I photobombed and I was in an awkward position. You don’t got to say between the man’s legs. You got the wrong wordplay. I photobombed and was in a situation where people perceived to be very suspect. Or as the kids say, ‘sus’.”

Rawlings then trolled himself and the situation as Sharpe pressed him on why he was positioned between Diddy’s legs, saying, “You know how I knew I was f##### up, because Diddy looked at me like, ‘Damn, somebody get this n*gga off the boat.”

The viral photo, however, took on a different life in the wake of allegations surrounding Diddy’s so-called “Freak Off” parties, events rumored to involve wild and debaucherous behavior. Rawlings, who admitted the existence of “freak offs” was quick to point out the double standards in how people view Hollywood.

“Everybody knows ‘Freak Offs’,” he said. “Everybody know Hollywood is Hollywood. I don’t understand why all these muthafuckas act like, ‘Oh my God, they had a mansion party and they had cocaine and all these orgies drugs and stuff.”

He continued by noting that the backlash to the photo felt exaggerated given the context and its circulation a decade after it was taken.

“I’ll tell you. It’s a photo that’s gone viral that 10 years ago,” he said. “That would have been a photo that had been iconic and people to wish they was in that picture. It wasn’t until after the ‘Freak Off’ s### that now the picture looks suspect. But you look at that picture. Shannon, you see it different for me. What I saw in that picture. First off, I saw eight successful Black men.”

Rawlings went on to described the gathering as a family-friendly event hosted by Diddy during the holidays. He emphasized that his son was present, as were Dave Chappelle’s kids and even Diddy’s late partner, Kim Porter.

“It was just a vibe,” Rawlings said. “We had dinner, we exchanged good energy, and that’s what it was for me. Nothing more, nothing less.”

British Drill Rapper Sentenced To Life For “Revenge” Killing Of Rival Gang Member

A drill rapper has been sentenced to a minimum of 37 years behind bars in connection with the “revenge” killing of a rival gang member at a children’s party in August 2022.

Kacey Boothe, 25, was fatally shot on August 13, 2022, outside a community center in East London. He was attending the first birthday party of his friend Khalid Samanter’s child.

26-year-old rapper Kammar Henry-Richards, who uses the stage name Kay-O, along with Ka’mani Brightly-Donaldson, 25, Joao Pateco-Te, 28 and Jeffrey Gyimah, 23, were all convicted of the murder.

The men were sentenced at London’s Old Bailey on Tuesday (January 14).

Henry-Richards was jailed for life with a minimum term of 37 years for the murder on Tuesday.

Brightly-Donaldson, Joao Pateco-Te and Jeffrey Gyimah were also sentenced to life in prison with minimum terms ranging from 35 to 38 years.

A fifth man, Roody Thomas, was sentenced to five years after admitting possession of a firearm.

Prosecutors argued the murder was part of an ongoing gang rivalry between the London Fields gang and the E9’ers. Days after the murder, Henry-Richards bragged about the killing in a music video for a song called “Kay-O Laughing Stock.”

The court heard the gun used to kill Boothe was also used to shoot his older brother, Kyle, in August 2020.

The lyrics read: “Big Boothe and Little got hit, same sig, that’s a sour family/Both got slapped at functions, neck and head, handguns come handy.”

Judge Lynn Tayton QC described the killing as a “planned revenge attack. arising out of gang rivalry in the context of an ongoing pattern of serious t##-for-tat violence.”

The four defendants were also convicted and sentenced for conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the shooting of Abdi-Rahman Jeylaani in August 2022, per BBC News

Sentencing them, Judge Tayton said: “Having considered your individual cases I am of the view that there is no sensible basis upon which to differentiate between you in terms of the roles you played in the murder or the conspiracy to murder.

“Although none of you actually carried out the shootings you all played significant roles in facilitating those offences and I cannot identify any of you as playing a substantially greater part than others.”

Exploring Megaways Slots: A Guide to Free Play

Megaways slots are the most significant development in video slots over the last decade. Adding a new way to experience spinning the reels, many players flock to Megaways games. They’re exciting and provide an impressive number of ways to win. We’ve explored what Megaways games offer and guide you on how to enjoy them for free.

What are Megaways Games?

If you’re looking for Megaways free play games, the first step is understanding what they are. Megaways games work similarly to standard video slots, but they create every possible winning line instead of having a limited number of paylines. The paylines in a Megaways slot range from 64 to 117,649. While this may sound confusing, it makes sense once you understand how the reels work.

Megaways games have a varying number of rows on each reel. They typically have six reels, and between two and seven symbols can appear on each reel. As paylines are all worked out by calculating the number of rows with an exponent of the number of reels, the paylines vary so much. With two symbols on each reel, the calculation is 2x2x2x2x2x2. With seven symbols, it’s 7x7x7x7x7x7.

So, if you have a set of reels with 3, 2, 7, 5, 6, and 7 on them, the calculation is 3x2x7x5x6x7, which equals 8,820 paylines. It shows how much the reels can vary and why every spin is so much fun.

It uses a cascading reel feature, so more symbols can fall in and create more wins whenever you make a win. It’s a fantastic feature that adds excitement to winning spins. Buffalo King Megaways also has a free spins round, which includes additional multipliers.

A$AP Rocky’s Lawyer Says Client Is “Eager” To Tell His Story In Gun Assault Trail Set To Begin

A$AP Rocky is apparently waiting in the wings to have his chance to take the stand in his upcoming gun assault trial in connection to the 2021 shooting incident involving A$AP Relli.

On Wednesday (January 15), Rocky’s lawyer Joe Tacopina appeared in an interview outside of a courthouse, where he spoke to Rolling Stone reporter Nancy Dillon about the upcoming case set to start on January 21. When asked about the possibility of Rocky testifying during the case, Tacopina offered a measured response that provided both legal and personal context about their attorney/client relationship.

“Well Nancy, I know you know that I have not and would never make a decision like that before trial, right, because it’s malpractice,” Tacopina said. “That being said, he’s [A$AP Rocky] eager to tell his story and would love the opportunity to do so.”

Tacopina continued, praising Rocky’s humanity and character in the process. “He’s very articulate and intelligent, he’s a good human being and that will come out if he testifies,” he said before concluding, “But that’s decision isn’t going to be made yet. And it depends on how the case goes.

Rocky’s legal counsel’s statement follows months of prolonged delay, after the trial that was originally set to start in October of last year was postponed to January 2025. A$AP Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, faces trial for assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Prosecutors accuse him of shooting his former friend A$AP Relli in 2021. During preliminary hearings for the case, footage of the incident was reviewed and confirmed there was a scuffle, but it didn’t clearly show the shooting. Relli testified that during the confrontation, Rocky allegedly said, “I’ll kill you right now” before firing a shot that grazed Relli’s hand. He alleges Rocky also fired two or three more times before fleeing. In a statement he shared following a pre-trial hearing in October 2024, Tacopina expressed his confidence that Rocky will emerge from the case a free man.

“I’m confident in knowing that he will be vindicated,” Tacopina said. “This has been a burden for him and his family … But he’s a terrific guy. He really is. And he’s handled this as well as any human being can handle it. And he’s ready. He’s ready to face this head on and we’re ready to face this head on. And he’ll be OK when this is all said and done.”

Tyler Perry Slams “Greedy” Insurance Companies Over Wildfire Policies

Tyler Perry is calling out major insurance companies for dropping policies in California just as wildfires wreak havoc on the state’s most vulnerable areas.

Perry, known for his films and philanthropy, turned to Instagram to criticize what he described as the “greedy” actions of companies that have left countless residents without crucial insurance coverage in times of disaster.

“Watching a daughter use a garden hose to try and protect her 90-year-old parents’ home because their insurance was canceled was just gut-wrenching to me,” Tyler Perry wrote in the emotional post.

“Does anyone else find it appalling that insurance companies can take billions of dollars out of communities for years and then, all of a sudden, be allowed to cancel millions of policies for the very people they became rich on?”

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Tyler Perry (@tylerperry)

Perry’s post comes as wildfires continue to ravage parts of California, destroying thousands of homes and claiming 24 lives since the infernos began on January 7.

According to reports from the Los Angeles Times, certain insurers haven’t renewed policies in fire-prone areas, including Pacific Palisades and Altadena, leaving residents in high-risk zones scrambling for protection.

“People who have paid premiums all of their lives are left with nothing because of pure greed,” Perry continued. “As I am in the process of trying to figure out what steps to take to do all I can to help as many as I can, I am keeping everyone in my prayers.”

Others in the entertainment and real estate world have also weighed in on the unfolding crisis.

Jason Oppenheim, star of Netflix’s Selling Sunset and owner of The Oppenheim Group, spoke out against landlords exploiting the situation. Oppenheim told the BBC on Sunday that a client who offered $20,000 a month—$7,000 above a property’s original monthly listing—was still denied a rental because the landlord pushed for $23,000.

“There are price gouging laws in California, they’re just being ignored right now, and this isn’t the time to be taking advantage of situations,” Oppenheim said.

The devastation has left countless families displaced, with limited resources to rebuild their lives in the wake of the fires.

EXCLUSIVE: Diddy Demands Release Of “Freak Off” Tapes To Prove His Innocence

Sean “Diddy” Combs is turning up the legal heat, accusing the government of stonewalling his defense by refusing to hand over the so-called “Freak Off” tapes—videos his lawyers argue are essential to dismantling the prosecution’s case.

The embattled music mogul, who remains behind bars on racketeering and sex trafficking charges, has made the tapes the centerpiece of his fight for justice.

In a fiery court filing, Diddy’s defense team claimed the videos are “unquestionably material” to the case, citing Rule 16, which guarantees defendants access to evidence critical to preparing their defense.

According to the filing, the government has no valid excuse to withhold the footage, calling it direct evidence that could undermine the prosecution’s narrative.

The tapes, described as central to allegations of “Freak Off activity,” were bluntly labeled the “core” of the government’s case during a previous hearing.

“There is no greater risk in granting defense counsel a copy of the files for preparation than exists in the government’s maintenance and use of the files,” Diddy’s lawyers argued, blasting prosecutors for hiding behind concerns about privacy.

Diddy’s lawyers say the existing protective order is enough to shield any sensitive information while still giving them a fair shot at defending their client.

Diddy’s lawyers have pointed out that withholding this evidence contradicts legal precedents, even invoking cases involving state secrets to argue that no interest should outweigh a defendant’s right to a meaningful defense.

For Diddy, the stakes couldn’t be higher.

Since his arrest in September, prosecutors have painted him as the mastermind of a sex trafficking operation, relying heavily on allegations of coercion and violence.

But Diddy’s team says the tapes could punch holes in the government’s claims, accusing them of trying to “stack the deck” by keeping the footage out of reach.

Diddy’s trial is set for May 2025 and the fight over his infamous “Freak Off” tapes could make all of the difference in his attempt to regain his freedom and prove he is innocent.

Cardi B Alleges Offset & His Mother Robbed Her

Cardi B leveled sharp allegations against her estranged husband Offset, claiming he neglected their children during the holiday season by failing to provide Christmas gifts.

Speaking during an X Spaces broadcast, the Grammy-winning rapper stated that Offset intentionally skipped gifting their three children to spite her.

“By the way, do you guys know that my kids didn’t receive no Christmas gifts from somebody in particular?” Cardi, 32, began, launching into an emotional monologue.

“Motherf**kers want to make a scene on social media, like I was keeping my kids away from them… but guess how many gifts that they bought my kids? Zero!”

The revelation adds tension to what’s already a highly publicized split between the Hip-Hop stars.

Cardi filed for divorce in July after seven years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences, though the pair have been known for their on-again, off-again dynamics in the past.

Cardi and Offset share three children together—daughter Kulture, 6, son Wave, 3, and a baby daughter born just this September.

Cardi spoke candidly about her frustrations, alleging Offset’s lack of involvement in their kids’ lives.

“You just called your daughter for the first time this year, yesterday. Your newborn. You love your kids so much and you didn’t bought them st for Christmas,” she alleged, expressing disbelief. “But you came to New York to buy your other kids gifts. But you didn’t bought my kids st on purpose to spite me (sic).”

Beyond the claims regarding Christmas gifts, the “Bodak Yellow” artist also accused Offset and his mother, Latabia Woodward, of financially wronging her.

“I ain’t listen after you and your momma robbed me. Yeah, you and your mom robbed me cold, wiped my nose. Told you stop f**king playing with me,” she said.

Cardi B declined to elaborate further on the alleged “robbery.”

Offset has not publicly responded to any of these claims.

His representatives also remain silent on the accusations.

The allegations add to what has become a messier-than-anticipated divorce, with Cardi suggesting Offset may be stalling legal proceedings for unclear reasons.

The couple’s once high-profile relationship often made headlines for its tumultuous moments, including reports of infidelity.

Since their split, Cardi B has remained vocal about their dynamic, with Tuesday’s fiery accusations reigniting public interest in their ongoing saga.

Drake Claims UMG Responsible For Shootings & Break-Ins In New Lawsuit

Drake is done playing nice. The chart-topping rapper has taken Universal Music Group (UMG) to court, claiming they pushed a vicious campaign to trash his name and cash in on the drama.

Although Drake quietly withdrew his petition against UMG and Spotify on Tuesday evening (January 14), he immediately filed a fresh lawsuit.

The legal battle centers around Kendrick Lamar’s fiery track ”Not Like Us,” which Drake says falsely accuses him of being a pedophile and even encourages violence against him.

The lawsuit paints a wild picture of a music industry feud turned dark. Just days after the song dropped in May 2024, Drake’s Toronto mansion was the target of a drive-by shooting. His security guard was wounded, and Drake alleges the chaos didn’t stop there—trespassers followed, one digging under a security gate to break onto his property.

Drake didn’t just fear for his own life but had to pull his young son out of school and send him out of the city for safety.

Drake claims UMG was well aware the song’s accusations were bogus but leaned into the controversy for streams and cash. He accuses the label of unleashing a global marketing frenzy, promoting the track on every platform imaginable and even allegedly using bots to inflate its numbers.

Drake Calls Out UMG For Prioritizing Profit Over His Safety

The song skyrocketed, racking up billions of plays, but Drake says it left his reputation in ruins. In his lawsuit, Drake doesn’t hold back, calling out UMG for prioritizing profit over his safety.

He’s seeking damages for what he calls a reckless campaign that led to physical danger, endless online hate, and a tarnished legacy.

With his court date set, Drake’s not just taking on Kendrick Lamar’s diss track—he’s calling out the entire system. For fans and industry insiders alike, this feud is shaping up to be one for the history books.

Two Teens Arrested After 14-Year-Old U.K. Rapper’s Tragic Stabbing

Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old aspiring British rapper Kelyan Bokassa.

A 44-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, per Sky News. The arrests were made on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. All three remain in custody, the Metropolitan Police said.

Kelyan Bokassa was fatally stabbed on January 7, 2025. The teen was riding a bus in Woolwich, South-East London just before 2:30 p.m. when he was attacked.

A patrolling officer raised the alarm, prompting the dispatch of emergency responders, including police, paramedics, and the London Air Ambulance. Despite medical efforts, Kelyan died shortly after help arrived at the scene.

His grief-stricken mother, Mary Bokassa, told journalists that Kelyan had been “groomed by gangs” from the age of six years old and had spent time on the streets. She claimed her “very kind and caring” son was “taken advantage of.” Kelyan was reportedly due in court for a machete offense days after his death.

“I feel hurt because I tried to prevent it,” she said. “I’ve tried so many, so many times.”

The incident occurred just three months after another fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in the same area. 9 teenage boys were killed in fatal stabbings in London last year. A tenth boy lost his life in a shooting.

These figures marked a decline from the 21 teenage deaths recorded in the city in 2023.

The Metropolitan Police are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about Kelyan Bokassa’s murder to come forward.

“I know that this incident deeply affected you all,” Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee said. “I hope that these two arrests reassure you that we are doing everything to tackle violent offenders across London.”

Drake Shares Cryptic Posts Amid Fan Backlash After Pulling UMG & Spotify Petition

Drake is catching heat online after unexpectedly withdrawing a bombshell petition against Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify. However, the Toronto superstar has chosen to sidestep the backlash, instead sharing a series of cryptic Instagram posts without addressing the controversy.

On Tuesday evening (January 14) Drake took to his Instagram Stories to drop off a pair of selfies. In the first, Drizzy shows love to Dipset amid the ongoing drama between Cam’ron and Jim Jones.

Drake donned the Diplomats jacket Capo gifted him when he called him the “Official 5th member of Dipset,” following their guest appearance at his two Apollo Theater shows in January 2023.

“dips forever,” he wrote on the photo.

The second photo showed Drake crouching in a camouflage outfit with matching Timberland boots adorned with the Young Money logo.

He also shared another captionless photo, this time of Yung Lean.

Social Media Reacts To Drake Withdrawing UMG Petition

Drake shared the cryptic posts just hours after news broke that he officially withdrew one of his petitions against UMG and Spotify. The defamation petition against UMG and iHeart in Texas remains active.

He initially alleged that the industry giants conspired to inflate streaming figures for Kendrick Lamar’s iconic diss, “Not Like Us.” His legal team later clarified that no financial penalties would be imposed on any party following the withdrawal.

The move sparked feverish speculation about Drake’s motivations, with many online criticizing him for initiating legal action in the first place.

One person shared, “Drake fans told us last year this case would benefit every single artist in years to come just for him to pull out due to lack of evidence.”

Another user claimed, “Drake did that petition to try and step on #GNX and it failed.”

Playboi Carti Fans Blast “Loser” Rapper Amid Iggy Azalea’s Deadbeat Dad Claims

Iggy Azalea says her co-parenting relationship with Playboi Carti has not improved, claiming the rapper has not seen their child in months.

The Australian artist opened up about her son’s father during a Twitch livestream on Tuesday (January 14) in response to fans asking about Carti’s elusive album.

“Someone’s saying tell Playboi Carti to drop,” Azalea said during the stream. “I don’t speak to him, my love. We haven’t heard from that man in over like 6 months.”

Iggy Azalea and Playboi Carti began dating in 2018 and had moved in together by December that year. They welcomed son Onyx in April 2002, but Azalea accused Carti of cheating on her throughout her pregnancy.

Last July, the “Fancy” hitmaker claimed she was parenting solo, and the situation appears to have remained the same.

“We don’t know where he is,” Azalea continued. “Have no idea, have no association. You have to tell somebody that that speaks to wherever he is. We don’t know or care.”

Playboi Carti was trending Tuesday as fans bashed the rapper amid Azalea’s claims.

Iggy Azalea previously referred to herself as a “single mother,” and said there’s no co-parenting arrangement with Playboi Carti.

“I’m very much the only parent,” she explained. “No disrespect, but yes, I am not co-parenting really, and that’s just the reality of it.”

Azalea previously alleged she had described her relationship with Carti as “volatile.” She allegedly left when their son Onyx was just three weeks old because she wanted to break the “toxic cycle.”

“I had something happen one day with my son’s father and me and it was just like one of those moments where you’re just like, I didn’t wake up thinking this is what my day would be,” Azalea recalled. “But by the end of the day, I was on a plane to Los Angeles and I never went back. And that was the end of it.”

Cassie Ventura ”Thoroughly Enjoyed” Diddy’s “Freak Offs” Mogul’s Attorneys Argue

Sean “Diddy” Combs is fighting back against prosecutors’ claims regarding his “freak offs,” claiming the tapes show no evidence of abuse and in fact, “confirm Mr. Combs’s innocence” because they only show sexual activity among “consenting adults.”

In a new filing on Tuesday (January 14), Diddy’s attorneys claim they have reviewed nine videos of “so-called ‘freak off’ tapes” regarding a person referred to as “Victim-1,” clearly describing Cassie Ventura.

Furthermore, despite her lawsuit claims, Diddy’s lawyers argue Ventura apparently “thoroughly enjoyed herself,” in the videos.

“Contrary to what the government has led this Court and the public to believe, the so-called ‘Freak Offs’ were private sexual activity between fully consenting adults in a long-term relationship,” defense attorneys Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos said.

Ventura sued Diddy for rape and years of abuse in her November 2023 lawsuit. She detailed the “freak offs,” alleging Diddy forced her to have sex with male prostitutes while he watched. The suit claimed the drug-fueled events could last for days, and guests often need IV drips to recover.

Diddy’s Attorneys Argue Cassie Ventura Appeared “In Control”

However, Diddy’s lawyers paint a different picture of the “freak offs.”

“These videos unambiguously show that the person alleged in the indictment to be ‘Victim-1’ not only consented but thoroughly enjoyed herself,” the defense said. They also describe Ventura as “evidently happy, dominant and completely in control.”

Diddy’s defense team also says the tapes were not covertly recorded, stating, “There are no secret cameras, no orgies, no other celebrities involved, no underground tunnels, no minors, and not so much as a hint of coercion or violence.”

Diddy’s attorneys assert that the tapes contain no evidence of violence, coercion, threats, manipulation, drug use or excessive alcohol consumption.

“There is certainly no evidence of sex trafficking,” the filing reads.

Diddy is awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Drake’s Legal Battle With UMG & Spotify Takes an Unexpected Turn

Drake has abruptly withdrawn one of the petitions he filed against industry giants Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify. The Toronto native initially accused the companies of conspiring to inflate streaming numbers for Kendrick Lamar’s now-classic diss song, “Not Like Us.”

In Drake’s complaint, he accused UMG and Spotify of deliberately pushing it to the top of the charts to undermine his dominance. But the 6 God has backed down—at least partially.

On Tuesday (January 14), Drake officially withdrew his petition in the state of New York, following a reportedly tense sit-down with representatives from UMG and Spotify earlier in the day. The rapper’s legal team confirmed that no costs would be levied against any party as a result of the withdrawal.

The petition in Texas, which is very similar, remains active.

Fans and industry insiders alike have speculated about Drake’s motivations. Some opined Drake lacked sufficient evidence and others suggested a possible behind-the-scenes agreement with UMG and Spotify.

Spotify vehemently denied any wrongdoing, releasing a terse statement in December that stated, “The predicate of Petitioner’s entire request for discovery from Spotify is false. Spotify and UMG have never had any such arrangement.”

Drake forged ahead and responded with an equally strong statement.

“It is unsurprising that Spotify is trying to distance themselves from UMG’s allegedly manipulative practices. If Spotify and UMG have nothing to hide, then they should be perfectly fine complying with this basic discovery request.”
