Ne-Yo Apologizes For Comments On Parenting Transgender Kids: “Gender Identity Is Nuanced”

Ne-Yo has issued a statement apologizing for his recent remarks about parenting and gender identity, admitting he needs better education on the topic of transgender children.

The “She Knows” singer received a mixed response to an interview that aired over the weekend where he questioned parents who allow their kids to transition genders. He took to social media with a lengthy apology Sunday night (August 6).

“After much reflection, I’d like to express my deepest apologies to anyone that I may have hurt with my comments on parenting and gender identity,” Ne-Yo began.” I’ve always been an advocate for love and inclusivity in the LGBTQI+ community, so I understand how my comments could’ve been interpreted as insensitive and offensive.”

He added: “Gender identity is nuanced and I can honestly admit that I plan to better educate myself on the topic, so I can approach future conversations with more empathy. At the end of the day, I lead with love and support everyone’s freedom of expression and pursuit of happiness.”

Ne-Yo Questions Parents Who Allow Their Kids To Transition Genders

In an interview with Gloria Velez aired Saturday (August 5), Ne-Yo said he comes from a time “where a man was a man and a woman was a woman,” adding, “there was two genders.”

The father of seven continued, “You could identify as a goldfish if you feel like, I don’t care. That ain’t my business. It becomes my business when you try to make me play the game with you. I’m not gonna call you a goldfish. But if you wanna be a goldfish, you go be a goldfish. We live in a weird time, man. We do.”

Ne-Yo also said, “I feel like parents have almost forgotten what the role of a parent is,” questioning why a parent would listen to a young child’s expression of gender identity.

“If you let this 5-year-old boy decide to eat candy all day, he’s gonna do that,” he declared. When did it become a good idea to let a 5-year-old, let a 6-year-old, let a 12-year-old make a life-changing decision for themself? When did that happen? I don’t understand.”

The Just-Us League Is Formed In Montgomery Alabama!

Yo, it was straight-up mayhem on Saturday evening down in Alabama near the iconic Montgomery Riverfront Park. Social media’s going crazy with footage of an all-out brawl that went down, and guess what? Some folks were arrested!

So here’s the deal: around 7 p.m., the cops got a call about a major disturbance going down in the 200 block of Coosa Street. When they rolled up to the scene, they found a massive group of people throwing down in a full-on brawl! The police statement said they nabbed several people involved in the mess, and now, they’re holding them pending possible charges.

But hold up, here’s where it gets wild! Reports suggest the whole madness started when a pontoon boat, carrying a bunch of white folks, decided to park themselves at the riverfront, blocking a riverboat from docking.

A Black security guard, just doing his job, asked the folks on the pontoon to move their behinds. But instead of cooperating, these white dudes went berserk and started attacking the security guard. They jumped him!

When the riverboat finally managed to dock, The Just Us League took formation! The brothas and sistas from the riverboat had a beatdown party on behalf of the security guard. People were going in! Women were getting whacked and jaws were getting cracked! It was total bedlam!

When the dust finally settled, the cops swooped in and arrested several folks who were involved in this chaotic mess. They will have some serious explaining to do, especially the man that hit that sitting white lady witih a folding chair.

Bro was buggin!

Yo, let’s remember, violence ain’t the answer, unless you jump a brother. Do not play in front of our collective face and think we won’t handle the business! The Just-Us League is here!!!!

By the way, somebody needs to give that lady a job in commentating!

EXCLUSIVE: Masika Kalysha Dishes On The Toxic Reality Behind “Love & Hip-Hop”

Former “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood” star, Masika Kalysha, didn’t hold back in a recent interview where she expressed her dissatisfaction with the reality show.

Kalysha, who also appeared in We TV’s “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta,” criticized the show’s producers for their handling of the cast and storylines.

“I was totally fine with it initially because it is what it is, you know, I don’t care what you think of me, it’s a platform and I’m gonna use it,” Kalysha said. “But then once I had my daughter, I’m like, you’re not about to use my daughter as clickbait… you’re not about to use my family to get some views and then something that she can Google later.”

During the interview, Kalysha shared her feelings of manipulation by the show’s producers and her dissatisfaction with her portrayal on the series.

“I didn’t know that everything was going to be produced, contrived, controlled… to the point where you can only film with their people,” she said. “I would have my real life and then my TV life and then the two don’t mix together,” Masika said.

Despite her challenging experiences with “Love & Hip-Hop,” Masika Kalysha has continued to progress in her career.

She has released several singles, including “Andale” featuring Fetty Wap, and “My Own,” a song about her relationship with the rapper.

Beyond her music and acting careers, Kalysha is also a successful entrepreneur. In 2016, she launched Khari Barbie Beauty, a cosmetics line that is vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and paraben-free.

“Kharibarbiebeauty.com, my cosmetic line, we have great products right now, but we are expanding. We’re going to be a full makeup line this year. So I’m super excited about that,” Masika told AllHipHop.com.

Lin-Manuel Miranda Developing New Musical Based On Movie Popular With Hip-Hop Culture

Lin-Manuel Miranda is reportedly adapting The Warriors novel into a stage musical.

According to reports, the “Hamilton” creator is adapting Sol Yurick’s 1965 novel “The Warriors” into a musical.

The novel previously inspired the 1979 action thriller directed by Walter Hill.

Both the novel and film followed a fictional street gang in New York City, who travel from The Bronx to their home turf in Coney Island after being framed for the murder of their gang leader.

Miranda recently polished the lyrics on John Kander and Fred Ebb’s musical “New York, New York” for its 2023 Broadway run.

He also appeared as himself for two runs of “Freestyle Love Supreme” in 2019-2020 and 2021-2022.

His previous Broadway productions include “In the Heights,” “Bring It On: The Musical,” and “Hamilton,” which premiered in 2015 and is still running at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in New York.

In the world of screen, Miranda contributed songs to the Disney movies “Moana,” “Encanto,” and “The Little Mermaid,” and made his feature directorial debut with “Tick, Tick… Boom!” in 2021.

He has also acted in projects such as “Mary Poppins Returns,” the “In the Heights” movie adaptation, “His Dark Materials,” and the upcoming “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series.

Jonathan Majors Gets New Trial Date For Alleged Assault

Jonathan Majors’ assault trial has been delayed to September.

The “Creed III” star returned to court in New York for what was scheduled to be the beginning of the trial, however, it has now been delayed as the prosecution stated that they were not ready because they are still obtaining discovery.

The 33-year-old entered the courthouse with his girlfriend, actress Meagan Good, and approached the bench at 9:42 a.m. with his criminal defence lawyer Priya Chaudhry.

Majors’ lawyer filed a motion to delay the trial, claiming that the prosecutors were not “timely” in turning over evidence. As a result, a new trial date has been set for September 6.

Jonathan Majors was arrested in Manhattan in March and charged with assault and aggravated harassment in relation to an alleged domestic dispute with his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, who was unnamed at the time of his arrest.

Majors has pleaded not guilty to the four charges levelled against him and has continued to maintain his innocence.

Chaudhry claimed that Jabbari, 30, had assaulted Majors, rather than the other way around.

The actor’s team has also suggested that “racial bias” has played a part in the investigation.

In addition to Jabbari’s claims, Rolling Stone published a bombshell report last month involving more than 40 sources who have allegedly known Majors.

In the report, multiple sources alleged that the actor had been abusive in two prior relationships.

They claimed he allegedly strangled a woman he had dated and was mentally and emotionally abusive during their time together.

Responding to the claims, Majors’ attorney Dustin A. Pusch stated, “Jonathan Majors vehemently denies Rolling Stone’s false allegations that he physically, verbally, or emotionally abused anyone, let alone any of his past romantic partners.”

Lizzo Dancers Respond To Her Denial Of Being A Terrifying Boss

Lizzo’s former backup dancers have hit back after the “Truth Hurts” singer broke her silence following the lawsuit they filed against her earlier this week.

The 35-year-old has been sued by the dancers, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez, who have accused her of sexual, racial, and religious harassment and creating a hostile work environment, among other claims.

Lizzo addressed the allegations on Thursday, denying the claims and labelled them “outrageous.”

“I am not here to be looked at as a victim, but I also know that I am not the villain that people and the media have portrayed me to be these last few days,” the Grammy Award winner wrote in the statement. “I am very open with my sexuality and expressing myself but I cannot accept or allow people to use that openness to make me out to be something I am not.”

Soon after Lizzo’s statement was posted, the dancers reacted to it during an interview with Channel 4.

“Initially for me, it just further deepened my disappointment in regards to how I was feeling and how I was treated,” Williams, who joined Lizzo’s dance team in 2021, said.

“I think the overall theme in all this is that our experiences were our experiences and our traumas were our traumas. In bringing that forward, it feels like it was disregarded completely,” Williams added. “It feels like we were made out to be putting out false allegations when that’s not the case.

“So yes, it was very disheartening to read and feel overlooked especially when she stands for what she stands for in regards to women’s empowerment – being an advocate for mental health, being an advocate for body positivity – and to just further prove that that’s not the case, because nothing was acknowledged in that statement,” the dancer stated.

Additionally, in a joint appearance with Williams on CBS News, Davis addressed her claims that Lizzo had forced her to touch a nude performer while in a strip club in Amsterdam.

“I did not ask for it. I said no multiple times,” Davis, who also joined the team in 2021, said. “I was very, very mortified, everyone burst into laughter,” she added.

In addition to Lizzo, the lawsuit was filed against her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc. and dance captain Shirlene Quigley.

Recently Toronto-based OVO Sound-rapper Smiley spoke about his new project, I Did What I Did. The project is a precursor to his yet-to-be-titled new album and follows up a bundle of material over the past few years, including a highly regarded Drake feature on the song Over The Top.”

“With I Did What I Did, basically, I have so much music in the vault that I finally, like, put something together quick while I’m still working on my album. I just wanted to feed the streets,” Smiley said.

“I just basically came up with the name by just picking out a lot of quotables from the songs on the tape. And then I Did What I Did was one that stood out the most to me. ‘Cause like, it’s super relatable, and it’s just how, like, how I’m going with this, you know?”

When asked about why he thinks OVO took his music into consideration and signed him, Smiley said he knows the fans want that “raw s###,” and he tries not to “overthink it.”

“I just don’t really overthink it. Before, I used to overthink a lot, but like now, I don’t try to overthink when I’m writing and stuff,” Smiley said. “I try to really just do the same thing. Like, I don’t try to… I try to change my songs a bit sometimes, but then I realize I’m like, they want that raw sh*t from me.”

Still focused on mastering his craft, Smiley says he even catches Drake off guard with some of the lines in his songs.

“Sometimes I’ll just say s### like, and he’ll [Drake] be like, ‘No way he said that in there.’ And that’s what just makes me, me, you know?” Smiley said.  “I’m still trying to, like, figure out ways to like, really like, understand my craft and get deeper into it so I could do multiple different things, you know?  I’m trying to master my craft.”

Rap fans interested in checking out the newly minted OVO-Sound rapper should listen to the newly released mixtape, which features nine tracks, including the currently released songs ‘Fast Route,’Nicky Nine Door,’ ‘Eternals,’ and most recent track ‘Long Nights.”

EXCLUSIVE: Tupac Shakur’s Brother Confirms Biggie Smalls Was Supposed To Join Thug Life

Thug Life member Mopreme Shakur, the brother of Tupac, discussed their history with The Notorious B.I.G. in an interview with AllHipHop’s Chuck Creekmur.

Mopreme verified rumors of Tupac recruiting Biggie Smalls for Thug Life when asked if B.I.G. was ever meant to be part of the group.

“There is some validity to that,” Tupac’s brother told AllHipHop. “Before things fell apart, Pac was a uniter. We knew we were from New York. We knew we were from the East Coast. And Pac liked to work with the best talent around. So, there was a period, there was a time when we was all cool. There was a time when Pac wanted Biggie to be part of the East Coast faction of Thug Life ‘cause we was kicking it with each other anyway. Pac wasn’t just a hater just to be hating. He liked [Biggie].”

Mopreme also vented about the way the American system treated his family in his conversation with AllHipHop. He remained vexed over the amount of scrutiny Tupac faced.

“What Pac did was dare to fight,” Mopreme said. “He dared to fight back, he dared to say something. He dared to question the police, and it comes with a certain amount of baggage.”

Megan Thee Stallion Isn’t Releasing Music Anytime Soon—Unless It’s About Genitals

Megan Thee Stallion recently announced she’s taking a mental health break before releasing new music—but before the hiatus she’s getting some rock-hard bars off!

According to new reports, Megan Thee Stallion is set to star in A24’s upcoming feature-length comedy D####: The Musical. In the newly released trailer for the musical, fans got a glimpse of Megan’s mouthy character along with a snippet of her one-eyed-snake freestyle featured in the film.

I’m assuming since the musical was filmed by the same director responsible for Borat that the entire thing will be a goofy-ahh masterpiece. I mean, she literally tells folk to f##### her business in the freestyle—and we’re sure that isn’t even the worse part.

Fans will have to wait until September to see the film—which follows the story of a pair of salesmen who find out their long lost twins. With that being said, this might mean it’s cooked for new music from Megan this year. I mean, Stallionettes may have to survive offf crumbs because the fact of the matter is that Megan low-key needs to focus on this role because she’s gotta outshine her lack-luster She Hulk performance.

Check out the full trailer below.

Post Malone’s Fiancée Turned Down His Drunken Proposal

Post Malone has admitted that his fiancée initially turned down his proposal because he was “hammered.”

During an episode of Alex Cooper’s podcast Call Her Daddy, the musician confessed that when he proposed to his girlfriend, whose name is unknown, two years ago in Las Vegas, she initially turned him down.

“I had lost a significant amount of money at the table, and we go upstairs and I’m, like, off my rocker hammered,” the rapper, real name Austin Post, recalled.

“I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna marry me? I got a ring and all this stuff,’” the 28-year-old remembered of the moment. “And then she said no.”

Post Malone went on to say that his then-girlfriend was willing to give him a second chance and suggested that he ask her again the next day.

“She’s like ‘Ask me tomorrow,’” he told the podcast host. “And then I did. And I was sober and it was nice.”

The New York native added that his mystery fiancée was “right” to turn down his inebriated proposal. “I’m just a terrible arbiter of romanticism, I guess,” he joked.

During the episode, the rapper confirmed that he and his partner are not yet married. When speaking about their impending nuptials, he said, “Dance moves are gonna be hopefully popping.”

He also teased that the décor will feature “lots of camouflage,” and he plans to wear a camouflage suit, one of which he already owns.

Jake Paul Says Drake Will Lose $250,000 Bet Using Gruesome Image Of Nate Diaz

Jake Paul, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, has issued a stark warning to rap superstar Drake about his $250,000 wager on Nate Diaz.

Drake has placed this staggering bet on Diaz, the former UFC lightweight title challenger, to hand Paul his second successive loss. If Drake is correct, he will rake in a cool $1 million. However, Paul has confidently stated that he will thwart Drake’s bet.

Paul made his intentions clear through a mock-up poster on his Instagram page, where he is seen holding a gruesomely depicted severed and bruised head of Diaz.

The caption read, “Drake losing his bet.” This bold statement came after a heated face-off between Paul and Diaz at Friday’s weigh-ins, where Diaz was so fired up he even tried to kick Paul.

In his final pre-fight interview, Paul expressed his determination to win, stating that he plans to “dog walk” Diaz.

“[I’m in] 100%, best shape of my life, feeling amazing. Brought in a whole entire new team, strength and conditioning, nutritionist, head coach, all of that, and I’m feeling good,” Jake Paul said. “You know, and when I’m in a shape like this, when I have the proper time to prepare, you’re going to see a different version, the best version of Jake Paul you’ve ever seen.”

“He’s gonna come in, swing and doing the dumb s### that he does. I’m gonna weather the storm and knock him the f### out. He’s never been hit by someone like me. I promise you that. That’s why I keep putting these UFC champs to the canvas.”

On the other hand, Diaz, who is making his professional boxing debut since leaving the UFC, confidently stated that no matter how the fight goes, Paul can’t really fight.

“Can you accept my offer to fight in MMA? You’re acting like a b#### still. I have $10 million dollars for you in MMA and you still haven’t accepted it. After I f### you up in boxing, I’m coming to MMA and I’m f###### you up worse. I’ma choke your f###### ass out. Accept the offer, b####. But you won’t. You won’t accept the offer.”

The much-anticipated boxing bout between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz is scheduled for Saturday at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, with the pay-per-view event kicking off at 8 p.m. ET.

The main event, featuring Paul and Diaz, is expected to commence around 11 p.m. ET.

Fans can tune in to DAZN or ESPN+, where the fight card, including the co-headlined match between Amanda Serrano and Heather Hardy, is available for $59.99.

“The idea here was to give her something that allows her body to set the template,” he stated. “Not only its shape and its form, which is basically informed by her spirit. Your body is literally a spiritual encasement. Continue to celebrate her shape and her form, but also make her feel free at the same time.”
Pharrell added that the outfit was created for someone “who is royal in her spirit.”

“Everything was designed with an intention that a true, rare, very powerful spirit is meant to move,” he concluded.

According to Louis Vuitton, Pharrell also created custom garments for Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, 11, who has joined her mother on stage on multiple occasions during the world tour.

It was announced in February that Pharrell had been appointed the creative director of menswear at the luxury brand.

Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z supported him when he unveiled his first collection during Paris Men’s Fashion Week in France in June.

Is Drake Attempting To Rizz Up ’36G Bra Girl’ Over Iced—Not Spiced—Coffee?

Drake really copied Soulja Boy’s whole f###in flow with these “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” DM’s he’s been allegedly sending the 36G Bra Girl from his It’s All A Blur Tour.

If you haven’t heard by now, 36G Bra Girl, aka Veronica Correia, 21, became the center of attention after Drake plucked the brassiere freshly peeled from her bosoms from the stage during his concert in Brooklyn, New York last month. In the days since she unleashed the Correia Cannons at Drizzy’s show, shorty’s cellular has been doing the “Hotline Bling.” She’s been booking podcasts left and right and even inked a modeling deal with Playboy—who slid in her DM’s on Instagram.

ITS MEEEEE!!!! A lot of girls posting its them but this is not to get confused its me 😌 #drake36G #36G #itsallablurtour #barclayscenter #Brooklyn #Drake #aubreydrakegraham

And now, it appears as though Correia may have a shot at a Turks and Caicos coffee date with The Boy himself. It was only a matter of time until Drake himself did the electric slide into her DMs. Drizzy apparently hit her with the swipe-up react entry, which she says she left him on read for days afterward—likely cap.

“He slid up on a Story and just simply sent a laughing face,” Correia said in a recent interview. “I took a day or two to respond because I didn’t know what to say.” And like Drake said on his aptly titled “Jimmy Crooks,” banger “You know how sticky it gets,” Correia and Drizzy’s convo purportedly got a tad messy.

“I wrote out this paragraph basically just thanking him for the experience, like an awesome show,” Correia said before adding, “Then I told him that I own a coffee shop in Cumberland and asked him if he likes coffee.”

Drake’s reply? She says he told her he likes his coffee “iced and sweet” no disrespect to Ice Spice.

Considering Drake has offered to fly out NBA commentator Doris Burke on multiple occasions, it doesn’t seem far off that he could potentially be contemplating boarding OVO Airlines to grab that iced coffee.

Bro was literally testing his Rizz—I mean really making a case for me to believe he wasn’t lying in that UTOPIA bar on “Meltdown” when he said, “I’d love to f### on a regular b####.”

“He was laughing at all my messages, so I asked him, ‘Oh do you think I’m funny?’ and he said, ‘I think you’re really sought-after right now,'” Correia said. Do Y’all think Drake ever told Ice Spice she was “Sought after”—he definitely told her mom.

I guess the shred of chivalry Drake attempted to showcase ahead of Her Loss on Certified Loverboy still exists because Drizzy also shared some gems after the initial “Teenage Fever.” Correia apparently asked Drake how to deal with the negative B.S. that comes with being lit and his reply was actually super wholesome.

“He said just to live your amazing life, like, people are faceless and they would never really say the negative comments to your face,” she revealed. “I’m like, yeah, wow, now I’m definitely not paying them any attention.”

The “Django Unchained” star, 55, took to his Instagram to wish his sister, Deidra Dixon, a happy birthday and praise her for being “courageous.”

“Happy birthday to my beautiful for sister @frequency11 ‘D’… you are magical you are beautiful you are the courageous lionesses #leoseason And without you I would not be here,” the actor shared. “Had you not made the decisions that you made I would’ve lost my life…. The Oscar-winning actor was hospitalised due to a reported medical complication in April.

On July 22, he posted an Instagram video thanking fans for their support and giving an update on his recovery.

“I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through. I know a lot of people were waiting and, you know, wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man,” the Baby Driver star explained in the video.

“I went to hell and back,” he added, “and my road to recovery had some potholes as well. But I’m coming back. And I’m able to work.”

The nature of Jamie’s medical complication has still not been disclosed, though online rumours stating the health scare had left the actor paralysed or blind have since been debunked.
