Will Smith Thought “The Pursuit Of Happyness” Was The Pinnacle Of His Career

Will Smith never thought he would make a better film than “The Pursuit of Happyness.”

Will Smith was sure “The Pursuit of Happyness” would be the pinnacle of his career until he made “King Richard.”

In the new biographical drama, the Hollywood star portrays Richard Williams, the father, and coach of tennis players Venus and Serena Williams, who are played by Saniyya Sidney and Demi Singleton.

Reflecting on the film in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Smith explained that the shoot ended up being a very “special” moment in his career.

“You always hear that cliché, ‘Oh, I laughed, I cried,’ (but) it’s one of those films that really covers a broad spectrum of emotion and ideas, that’s truly rare,” he shared. “I had secretly in my mind felt that I would never make anything better than (2006 movie) ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’, and I never said that out loud, but I felt like I would never make anything better than ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ and then I saw ‘King Richard.'”

‘King Richard,’ which also features Aunjanue Ellis, Jon Bernthal, and Tony Goldwyn, earned six nominations at the Critics Choice Awards and four nods at the Golden Globes, with Smith winning the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama prize.

Furthermore, the actor noted that it is essential for him to continue making films that make viewers smile.

“I want to tell stories that make me cry, and I want to tell stories about the triumph of the human spirit and the women of the movement, and ‘King Richard’ fit in with that. The amount of time we spend on the set and on these things, I don’t want to ask anybody ever to do anything that they’re not going to be proud of for the rest of their life,” the 53-year-old stated. “I want it to contribute to the evolution and the growth of the consciousness and loving connection between human beings.”

Lil Nas X Accused Of Stealing Pregnant Promotion From Metal Rapper

Lil Nas X is accused of ripping off another artist to promote his critically acclaimed album Montero.

During the run-up to his release, Lil Nas X revealed he was pregnant with the album. The rapper created promotional material on social media showcasing a prosthetic pregnant belly.

One of the videos titled “Lil Nas X Gives Birth” blew up on YouTube and has been viewed over 15 million times.

According to artist Dana Dentata, LNX stole the entire promotional campaign from her copyrighted video “pantrychrist.”

Dana Dentata says LNX copied the idea for the pregnant prosthetic, a sonogram, and other concepts she originally conceptualized.

Dana Dentata fired off a cease and desist letter to the rapper, ordering him to take down his pregnant promotional material.

The Canadian-born metal rap artist is no clout chaser either. She has already achieved fame as a model for Kim Kardashian’s shapewear line SKIMS.

And, Kim Kardashian’s soon-to-be ex-husband Kanye West asked Dentata to close out the PornHub awards when he served as Creative Director for the event in 2018.

Dana Dentata and her legal team are attempting to settle the issues with Lil Nas X. However, if they cannot agree, a copyright infringement lawsuit is on the horizon for the “Industry Baby” rapper.

Young Buck In More Financial Trouble For Hiding Hundreds Of Thousands Of Dollars

Young Buck’s battle with his bankruptcy estate continues over claims the rap star hid hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Young Buck, born David Darnell Brown, filed for bankruptcy in January of 2020 after spending the last half of 2019 in jail for being a fugitive from justice.

The rapper’s debts started piling up after running into financial issues with the IRS. He also owes child support to his kids, and supposedly, $250,000 to his former friend turned foe, 50 Cent.

Things were going smooth until July of 2021, when Young Buck was accused of withholding his royalty statements from ASCAP and attempting to hide $35,000 paid out to his publishing company Mouth Full Of Ice.

Young Buck eventually settled with the bankruptcy trustee over the $35,000.

However, 50 Cent is attempting to terminate the settlement because the money allegedly belongs to G-Unit since Young Buck never fulfilled his contractual obligation to deliver two albums to the label.

And now Young Buck has more financial issues to deal with as his bankruptcy winds through court.

Young Buck received over $108,000 from Sound Exchange which he never reported to the bankruptcy estate’s trustee, Erica Johnson.

It gets worse.

According to Johnson, Young Buck also received over $32,000 from independent distributor Select-O-Hits. After he filed for bankruptcy, he also pulled down over $47,000 in royalties from Universal Music Publishing.

Johnson maintains that all of this money belongs to the bankruptcy estate so the rapper can pay off his debts.

The bankruptcy estate is requesting a judge make Young Buck turn over all ongoing distributions and an order declaring the rap star’s catalog belongs to the bankruptcy estate free and clear of “any and all exemptions and/or interest of the debtor.”

Johnson is also seeking a judgment against Young Buck in the amount of the distributions the rapper has received and hidden.

Nicki Minaj “Creepy” Lawyer Accused Of Cyberstalking Rival Attorney’s Wife

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty’s $20 million battle with his sexual assault accuser is quickly turning into a dog fight between their attorneys.

The lawyers have been bickering back and forth ever since it was revealed Kenneth Petty’s sexual assault accuser, Jennifer Hough, was dropping her lawsuit against Nicki Minaj.

The legal wrangling was just a formality because Hough is moving her lawsuit from New York to California, where Nicki and Kenneth Petty reside.

Hough claims Nicki and Kenneth have been terrorizing her, and she’s been living in fear of her life for refusing to recant her 1994 rape allegations against the rap star’s husband.

When Hough refused, the celebrity couple allegedly tried to pay her $500,000. When the bribe did not work, Nicki and Kenneth supposedly ordered gang members to threaten Hough’s life.

In email correspondence obtained by AllHipHop, Nicki Minaj’s lawyer Judd Burstein claimed the rap star had shelled out $300,000 to defend herself from a “frivolous” lawsuit.

Judd Burstein said “even his Labradoodle Gracie” could see Hough’s lawsuit was simply a money grab, and he vowed to sanction Hough and her attorneys Steven Gordon and Tyrone Blackburn for claiming Nicki and Kenneth are members of a Bloods subset called The Makk Baller Brims.

Blackburn and Steven Gordon sent a letter to Judge Eric Vitaliano, and they made some shocking allegations against Judd Burstein.

Gordon said he was almost forced to resign from the case because Burstein began targeting his wife and harassing her.

“As a young attorney, I could have never fathomed the types of harassment and threats that Mr. Burstein has employed against me, personally,” Steven Gordon complained to Judge Vitaliano.

Steven Gordon Claims Nicki Minaj Lawyer Targeting His Wife

“Mr. Burstein baselessly attempted to threaten that my wife had waived our marital communications privilege, insinuating that he would seek to invade one of the most private relationships in my life. Accordingly, for my family’s safety and privacy, I was almost forced to withdraw from this motion,” Gordon revealed.

According to Tyrone Blackburn, Judd Burstein “has taken residency in the sewers of the legal profession” throughout the proceedings.

Blackburn said the court has sanctioned Burstein at least ten times since the early 1990s, the most recent in 2018.

However, the most damning accusation against Burstein was revealed when Blackburn accused him of cyberstalking Steven Gordon’s wife.

“An example of his deplorable behavior stems from his sick obsession with Mr. Gordon’s wife,” Blackburn said. “Mr. Burstein went scrummaging through the comments section of youtube posts in search of comments posted by Mrs. Gordon.

“Not only was his act of cyberstalking Mrs. Gordon creepy, but it was also weird and beneath the dignity of this profession,” Tyrone Blackburn told Judge Vitaliano.

Blackburn said Burstein’s antics are simply an “exercise in billing” to run up Nicki Minaj’s legal costs.

Tyrone Blackburn also apologized for Jennifer Hough’s “second-hand embarrassment” due to Burstein’s “misguided abuse” of the legal proceedings and wasting the court’s time.

Ye Wants To Change Paparazzi Biz To Avoid Another Princess Diana Like Tragedy

Rap star Ye is hoping to revolutionize another industry – the photography business.

Ye engaged in a tense discussion with a paparazzi at the airport as he departed from Miami following a recording session with DJ Khaled.

When the guy who was recording attempted to question Ye, the mogul showcased the business skills that helped him become a billionaire.

According to Ye, it is unfair that photographers can monetize his image without his permission, while he gets 0% of the profits.

“You guys can follow us, you can stand out in front of our hotel, at any given time, and you don’t give us any percentage of what you’re making off of us on our kids, and I’m going to change that,” Ye said without elaborating.

“We all got to make money together. It’s more people in the world, it’s more money in the world. Let’s all make money together. That’s where it feels like vulture like. It’s like look, if I’m just with my kids and I say ‘I don’t want you to shoot me than that’s something yall got to respect as a man. We can get that money together. But we got to have a conversation. Just because the laws are allowing that and celebrities don’t have rights, I’m going to make sure that we get our rights. We [are] very important.”

Ye said he had no issues with how the paparazzi earn a living – he even noted his father was a critically acclaimed photographer for a newspaper.

But he cited Princess Diana’s death as to why celebrities should be legally protected. Princess Diana was killed at the age of 36 in August of 1997 after her car crashed in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel in Paris as she fled the pursuing paparazzi.

Furthermore, according to Ye, celebrities reaching a deal with paparazzi would be great for unity in America.

“I love photographers. I work with photographers. I hop in the car with paparazzi. I go out to eat with paparazzi. But as Americans, we got to respect each other. We got to bring the pride back to this country and the way we are with each other it doesn’t need to be like ‘oh I’m agro with yall and doesn’t need to be like ‘oh your following want us til its a Princess Diana type situation. We all got to come and work together, that’s what I’m saying.”

How to Succeed In Music, According to Dren Starr Industry Power House

Success in the music industry doesn’t come easy, but you can succeed with a love for music and a genuine hustle that won’t quit. Dren Starr, a self-made music mogul from the Lower East Side of Manhattan, is living proof of this and shares his steps to success despite the competition.

Do What You Love

If you want to succeed in the music industry, make sure it’s something you love. Even when he was a child, Dren Starr was passionate about music and became a DJ at only 14. By the time he turned 18, he was already operating WBAD Radio 91.9 FM, a competitor of New York City’s Hot 97. The radio station continued running until the federal government decided to shut it down. Even then, he didn’t let a minor setback keep him from pursuing work in the industry.

Make the Right Connections

His love for the industry led to Dren Starr making the right connections with different people in music. As a result, he decided to open pirate recording studios that got him even closer to those making names for themselves because of their talent. Not only did he work in the recording studio as a producer and engineer, but he also traveled with musicians around the world while taking on managerial tasks. The connections made played an integral role in his overall success. “I got started in this industry at a time when you needed to make real connections. It’s easier now because of social media, but I got started at a time when YouTube and Instagram weren’t even around,” shared Dren Starr.

Remain Consistent

While it’s important to love what you do and do what you love while making the right connections with people that get you further in your career, consistency also pays off. You can expect to deal with some obstacles along the way. For Dren Starr, his biggest obstacle was spending more than five years in prison on a gun possession charge. Although it set him back from doing what he wanted in life, he didn’t let it hold him back for good. Upon getting released from prison, he jumped right back into the game while learning to adapt to the digital era. Dren Starr says, “I had to get familiar with this new digital era of music, but adapting to it wasn’t a problem. I also relied on my connections before my time in prison to help me get to where I am. I’m a firm believer that when you’re not burning bridges and you’re keeping your word, you can start to accomplish big things. Your word is everything.”

You can have what you want in life if you’re willing to work for it, and Dren Starr is living proof of that. The music mogul didn’t allow prison time to keep him from excelling in the music industry. His incredible work ethic and a solid reputation have helped him get even further in life. He’s now the owner of LES BRAND and regularly works with various celebrities, including Diddy, Meek Mill, and Fabolous.

EXCLUSIVE: Jay-Z Unable To Reach Settlement In Lawsuit Over “Reasonable Doubt” Images

Jay-Z is heading to trial in his lawsuit against photographer Jonathan Mannion.

According to documents obtained by AllHipHop, Hov and Mannion couldn’t reach a settlement in the case. Jay-Z is suing the famed Hip Hop photographer for selling photos of the Grammy-winning rapper without permission.

“Plaintiff Shawn Carter and Defendants Jonathan Mannion and Jonathan Mannion Photography LLC participated in a mediation before the Honorable Terry Friedman (Ret.) on January 5, 2022,” the court filing reads. “The parties were unable to reach an agreement to resolve this case.”

Since the two sides were unable to come to an agreement, the case will proceed in court. The trial date is scheduled for July 22, 2022.

Jay-Z hired Mannion as a photographer in the ’90s. One of the photos taken by Mannion became the cover for Hov’s debut album Reasonable Doubt.

The lawsuit alleges Mannion’s been profiting off Jay-Z’s likeness by selling prints and t-shirts featuring those old photos. The Roc Nation boss claims Mannion asked for “tens of millions of dollars” to stop using Jay-Z’s likeness.

“Jay-Z never gave Mannion permission to resell any of the images,” Hov argues. “Nor did Jay-Z authorize Mannion to use his name, likeness, identity or persona for any purpose.”

Last August, Mannion moved to dismiss the claims. A judge ruled against the photographer, allowing the lawsuit to proceed.

50 Cent Wants Teairra Mari To Pay Him His Money

Everyone is thinking it … why is 50 Cent like this?

The Queens rapper is hunkering down on Love & Hip Hop star Teairra Mari regarding the money she owes him from their 2018 revenge p### lawsuit.

Fif, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, took to Instagram to send a message to the former Roc-a-fella artist. He wrote in a caption, sitting next to a picture of the singer with her lawyers, ““👀 Remember this, smh she better give me my money before it start to feel like she went to college and her student loans catching up with her.”

https://www.instagram.com/p/CY7qq7fN-Up/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

In October of 2021, the Power executive producer’s lawyers filed a court order to make Mari pay the money that she owed from their last time in court.  50 wants to get $50,000 from the artist, but that seems unlikely. The singer’s lawyer Edward Ward can’t even get her to pay up.

In 2019, Mari sued 50 and her ex-boyfriend Akbar Abdul-Ahad for posting pornographic photos online. She claimed the men were trying to “sexually objectify, threaten, intimidate, humiliate and degrade her. However, a judge dismissed the case citing that 50 had done nothing wrong and ordered her to pay 50’s legal fees that totaled $30,000.

In 2020, the mogul took Mari back to court, hoping to get his money. But she claimed she didn’t have it. A court ordered her to pay him an additional $6,000 for not complying with a request to itemize her income and assets, Madamenoire.com states.

Still, the rapper doesn’t have his money.

He might’ve seen she getting money from the Flat Tummy co on IG and wants in. What do you think?

Ya Ya Mayweather Is Allegedly Threatening People Over NBA Youngboy … Again

Everyone knows how crazy Ya Ya Mayweather has gotten over her on-again-off-again boyfriend NBA YoungBoy. But is she out here threatening his enemies?

While rumors suggest that she might be, the boxing princess has declared herself innocent and so, why would she?

Because they share a child.

Ya Ya, the daughter of champion boxer Floyd Mayweather, allegedly posted on her Instagram story a message to any of her troubled child’s father’s enemies, letting them know she down for whatever when it comes to him.

She supposedly wrote, “Ain’t nobody gonna play with Kentrell and that’s on my son. And if that b*tch Asian Doll want smoke it’s up.”

Ayana Mayweather, the Hip-Hop star’s baby mama’s real name, said that she never made the post. “I never posted that. Stop making fake post and involving me in stuff that has nothing to do with me,” she posted.

Another post stated that blogs are looking to start beef and are exploiting the rumor for attention.

She also posted that she is solo-dolo, writing, “Single and happy. I can’t have no relationships cause the way my chest and stomach is set up, Ion like dat. That’s why I’ll just stay single.”

Single or not, she shared exactly how much she loved the rapper, “I’ll never love nobody like I love Kentrell.”

In 2020, we got to see how much she loved the rapper.

EXCLUSIVE: Nicki Minaj Wants To Sanction Rape Accuser For Claiming Rapper Is A Member Of The Bloods

Nicki Minaj is not backing down in the ongoing battle with a woman suing the rapper and her husband for $20 million.

Nicki Minaj is attempting to sanction Jennifer Hough and her lawyers for telling a judge Nicki and Kenneth were members of a ruthless New York gang.

Jennifer Hough is suing Nicki Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Petty, claiming the couple embarked on a campaign of harassment to get her to recant rape allegations against Kenneth.

According to Hough, Kenneth Petty offered her as much as $500,000 to recant her claim that he raped her at knifepoint in 1994.

The couple hired private detectives to track her down, harassed her daughter, and forced Hough to move to multiple states in fear for her life.

Jennifer Hough claims Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty ordered their associates to threaten her life when she refused. She claims an associate named Black and other unknown individuals have been threatening her life on behalf of Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty.

Hough’s lawyers Tyrone Blackburn and Steven N. Gordon claimed Nicki and Kenneth are members of the Makk Baller Brims, a Queens-based subset of the Bloods.

Nicki wants to sanction Hough for smearing her good name over the “inexcusable and wholly unsupported accusations against Ms. Maraj, such as that she ordered someone to kill [Hough] and that she is a member of a notorious street gang,” according to the rapper’s lawyer Judd Burstein.

Last week, it was revealed Nicki Minaj had been dropped from Jennifer Hough’s lawsuit. However, the legal move was a formality, so the lawsuit could be re-filed in a new jurisdiction, California, the state where Nicki and Kenneth live.

Singer Cat Calabrese, An Inspiring Artist With a Personal, Yet Catchy Song

Cat Calabrese is a talented artist and songwriter with a unique sound. Her songs could most definitely be considered very uplifting, energetic, and engaging due to their world-class blend of pop and electronic influences, among other styles. However, the road to get to this point was pretty long and winding for Cat, who had to face many struggles to become the successful and wonderful person she is today.

It takes an extraordinary person to take considerable risks in life to pursue art and creativity.

Cat is most definitely this person, especially if you consider everything she overcame to become an artist. She was inspired to make music in 2020 when she felt stuck in the wrong place in life. She was in an abusive relationship, and when she finally got out of it, she knew that she had to do something to process further what went on and embrace the path towards healing. She found that music was one of the best ways to do this.

She could have easily succumbed to all of the stress and trauma from her relationship, but this wasn’t the case. Cat is a true fighter, and she used music as a weapon – Not a weapon to harm or destroy, mind you, but a weapon to empower herself and build herself up, embracing confidence and energy in the best possible way. Even amidst the trauma, Cat was never afraid to speak her mind and tell her truth.

Musically, Cat Calabrese had a great passion for creating for many years was too afraid to put herself out there and try her hand at a beautiful and rewarding career in songwriting and performing. Her fifth single release, in particular, a track is known as “Psycho Therapy,” is an excellent example of what you can expect from Cat’s emotional and personal blend of songwriting. This song speaks about her experiences and her motivation to turn trauma and pain into a positive force to make her life something better and even help others do so!

The song sets the bar higher with a creative approach to music production. It sounds killer, with beautiful melodies, cinematic piano parts, and engaging beats that are really driven yet never overpowering. “Psycho Therapy” could be considered a quintessential indie-pop song with a modern flair because it showcases the artist’s uncommon and refreshing vocal ability and her uniquely broad range of sounds. The song’s verses, for instance, are pretty restrained and soothing, while the hooks are big and open, with Cat belting out her melodies in a powerful and striking tone that is reminiscent of some of the most influential pop stars of today’s music.
