It was announced yesterday that Kodak Black is expecting another child, and people are questioning his ability to parent the one that he has.
But are people just flame-torching family fun or is this really a case of abuse?
The Florida rapper’s small son King was celebrating his birthday party with family and friends. In a video that has now gone viral, KB can be seen cutting a slice of the little boy’s birthday cake.
The tradition usually ends with the kid receiving the first slice of the cake, but in this instance, the father takes the cake and smashes it in the child’s face.
There is a mixture of laughter and “why’d you do that’s?” but no one seemed outraged. It is unclear if the son (who is the most important character in the scenario) was upset, stunned, embarrassed, or enjoying what seems to be intended as revelry.
In some of the other footage, King can be seen dancing and playing with his dad…though it is unclear if this is before or after the case incident … he seems all smiles.
Smashing cake in a celebrant’s face is not unusual. According to ShootingStarSouthJersey.com, there are a couple of theories as to its origins. Some say it is a Mexican tradition called “Morida” that has exploded in the states.
“The Mordida is a tradition when the first birthday boy or girl’s face gets shoved into the cake (usually by the parent) to take their first bite of cake,” the site says.
Another theory is that it is a European wedding tradition that can date back to ancient Rome. The tossing of the dessert could mean that the bride will be fertile and have a bunch of kids.

Big $tunt is only 17-years-old, and well on his way to become one of the greats in the rap game.
Hailing from the small city of York, South Carolina, the rising star exploded onto the scene with his viral single titled “Capitalize Off Pain,” a phenomenon that even blows his mind to this day. Creating the record at 16-years-old after the death of his grandfather, Big $unt is seen in the booth talking his s### and turning his anguish into a positive.
While he came up in high school playing football, Big $tunt fondly remembers listening to the greats such as Lil Wayne, Boosie, and Birdman. Most importantly, his father and mother are the biggest influences in his life. Now with “Capitalize Off Pain” going up on TikTok, with over 2 million videos made to the song, Big $tunt followed it up with yet another banger: “Money Gang” featuring Pooh Shiesty.
AllHipHop: What was it like growing up in York, South Carolina?
Big $tunt: It ain’t a lot around, it’s really a city to get stuck in. You see the real ones make it out and support them. You’d never think nobody would make it out with the music, nobody does it down here. Really I’m the first to even bring music up around in the city. Growing up was cool, staying out the way. In this small city, everybody’s together. From childhood you’re really with everybody, but the city’s so stuck.
AllHipHop: You were a football player in high school, how was transitioning from athlete to recording artist?
Big $tunt: When I was young, all I wanted to do was play football. Go to college, play college football and go to the NFL. Rap chose me because I wasn’t even thinking about rap really. My homeboys wanted to rap. I was in football all the way from age 5 to 16, but I’ma finish this year off playing it too. It really came to me. I sat down one day and made that song “Capitalize Off Pain.” I wrote 2 lines of it and finished it months later. I finally dropped it and it went crazy, so now I’m in the rap game with it.
AllHipHop: You made “Capitalize Off Pain” right after your grandfather passed, what did that mean for you?
Big $tunt: That’s how I came up with the “Capitalize Off Pain” part of it. He passed away March 13th, that’s when Corona had just came. We were getting out of school, I wrote that first line and wrote a couple sentences. I came back months later and finished it, because I didn’t know it was gonna be like that. I had to find the beat. I was at my homeboy’s crib, he’s trying to tell me not to use the beat the whole time. The song blew up when I dropped it.
AllHipHop: How much did TikTok play into it blowing up?
Big $tunt: It’s at 2 million on TikTok. I’m a real humble person so I don’t get real excited over stuff like that. I still got more to accomplish. It made me feel real good, but I’m humble.
AllHipHop: Were you ready for all the attention?
Big $tunt: I’ma be real, I’m a quiet person. I don’t like to talk like that, but I’m ready for it. It’s cool now though, I was always ready for it. I always knew I was going to be a star somehow so I been ready for it.
AllHipHop: Did you know you were going to be a rap star?
Big $tunt: Nah I didn’t know that, I thought I was gonna be a football star. That’s what it was all about before “Capitalize Off Pain” went up, it was always about football.
AllHipHop: How is music a coping mechanism for you?
Big $tunt: It’s a chance to put my city on, my peoples on, to where my family don’t have to worry about nothing else. None of my homies, friends, none of that, they don’t gotta worry about nothing else. Music’s really changing my life and others’ lives.
AllHipHop: Best memory from shooting that music video?
Big $tunt: At the end when I had brought the whole city out and put them in the music video. We turnt up, I felt loved. It was a lot of love out there: homies, friends, brothers, sisters.
AllHipHop: What’d it mean to have your family out there?
Big $tunt: It means a lot because we came up together, we went through the same stuff. It means a lot to have my family rocking with me. Some people’s families change up after they feel like somebody in their family did something they wanted to do. It’s great to have my family still with me, we all went through the same thing.
AllHipHop: “Money Gang” with Pooh Shiesty out now! How yuo feeling/
Big $tunt: I feel right, it’s hard. The song’s super hard, he’s one of the hottest artists out right now. To have a feature with him, I’m blessed.
AllHipHop: How did the collab happen?
Big $tunt: To be real, I recorded that song 2 months before it happened. Me, my father, and my manager had sat down, we’re thinking about who we wanted to get on it. It came to my mind: Pooh Shiesty. My manager’s cool with his manager, and we got it done.
AllHipHop: What was your reaction when you heard his verse back?
Big $tunt: Yeah, this the one right here. It’s a different taste than “Capitalize Off Pain” so it’s going to bring even more different types of fans to me. This the one right here! This is my second single, to have a feature from him is real crazy. That really hit me right there. it’s nothing but motivation.
AllHipHop: How was shooting that music video?
Big $tunt: I love that music video. I had my homies with me, I was meeting new people. Meeting Shiesty, meeting Shiesty’s homies and having a good time. I like that music video, we shot that in Atlanta. That vibe was good because if you come down here where I’m from, it ain’t nothing like Atlanta. To be able to go to Atlanta and shoot a music video, that’s fire.
AllHipHop: What do you want fans to get from that record?
Big $tunt: It doesn’t matter what you’re doing, don’t tell nobody you can’t work no job. Go get that money, feed your family, and feed everybody around you. 100. Go get you a job, stay out the streets, do something you can do to get money.
AllHipHop: Talk about working with legendary director Dr. Teeth.
Big $tunt: Dr. Teeth, that’s my guy. It was real fun with him. Seeing all that new stuff he’s bringing to the table during the video, stuff I ain’t never seen. I’m used to watching other videos on YouTube. For me to be able to get him to shoot a video, that means a lot. Now I’m watching myself on YouTube. The whole time, I know what went on behind-the-scenes.
AllHipHop: How did you find your way to Block Entertainment/Columbia Records?
Big $tunt: “Capitalize Off Pain” did that, shout out to TikTok. It went up then me and Block had connected through Instagram. I had so many more labels offering but Columbia jumped straight on it. Soon as they hit me up, we met in Atlanta. I felt like that was the right energy and it turned out it was, so I went with them.
Big $tunt and Big Block
AllHipHop: How does it feel to get signed so early in your career?
Big $tunt: It feels real good to be real, because I never thought I was gonna get signed. I didn’t think I was gonna get signed when I made that song. I was tryna do something and trying to make a wa, look what it went to. Dropping that song turned to something else. To get signed to them at 16, God’s with me.
AllHipHop: Being that you’re only 17, what do you like to do for fun?
Big $tunt: I like to play video games, chill with friends. Roll dice, gamble, watch TV, all that.
AllHipHop: What do you like to watch?
Big $tunt: Movies like Boyz N The Hood, that type of vibe. And shows.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Big $tunt: I need my jewelry. My mind gotta be on right. I need somebody with me to see if they f###### with the energy I’m putting into the mic. I always need my homies to boost me up. I gotta have the blunt with me too.
AllHipHop: How much jewelry do you have on?
Big $tunt: I got some rings and a chain. My chain was $40K, it says Big $tunt.
AllHipHop: Top 5 artists in rotation right now?
Big $tunt: NBA Youngboy. Shiesty for sure. Lil Durk. My homeboy BigJ5, he’s one of them. The next one would probably be Lil Zay Osama. I like that “Soul Cry” and “Chosen.”
Big $tunt
AllHipHop: What can we expect next from you?
Big $tunt: I got a song featuring BigJ5 and VAYungn called “Next Meal”. They from the city too, they my brothers. We shot a music video so that’s next, and my album’s next.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from your album?
Big $tunt: It’s a 9 song EP called In My Blood. It’s straight fire, different types of vibes on there. This is my first album.
AllHipHop: What’s something fans don’t know about you?
Big $tunt: It’s a lot that fans don’t know about me. I’m a real quiet person. On social media it might look like I’m loud, but I’m a real chill, quiet, laidback person. I get mad easily too.
AllHipHop: What do you do when you get mad?
Big $tunt: I don’t know what it is, I got a little bad attitude when it comes to certain stuff. I get annoyed easily.
AllHipHop: Does music help?
Big $tunt: Oh what? Yeah that helps me. When you can vent your feelings and stuff in the mic, that’s fire right there. It helped me a lot.
AllHipHop: Anything you want to let us know?
Big $tunt: That I love all my supporters and fans. If you rocking with me, I appreciate that. You’re taking out your time to support me through this journey I’m finna be on. I’m going up, 2021. Me and everybody who’s with me, we going up. 2021 is our year.
Tory Lanez just released his newest project PLAYBOY, which seems to symbolize the deep feelings he felt upon the creative process, emotions caused by a breakup that left him vulnerable. “Emotionally, I was able to flow creatively. Some of my best creations come out when I’m vulnerable,” he describes.
This is best characterized in “Deceiving Eve,” the track he felt the most vulnerable of the project. “This is me being as honest as I can be on a record,” he shared, adding, “For the first time in a long time, I was writing R&B from a place of hurt and vulnerability, Unlike a lot of my other R&B which is based on the pure vibe and catchy melodies.”
Lanez recently dropped the music video for the lead single “Feels” featuring R&B crooner Chris Brown the song is a seductive ballad that showcases the two singers rhapsodizing over bedroom antics. Brown and Lanez previously collaborated on tracks like “Flexible” and “The Take” off Lanez’ Chixtape 5 album. The two have teased a potential collaborative project for the future.
On working with Brown he says, “Me and my Bro are not playing. This song is kicking off my new capsule PLAYBOY. This is one of my favorite bangers to date. It’s R&B season. Playboy comes on the heels of Lanez’s Rap capsule Loner and his full length album Daystar which seemed to be inspired by Megan Thee Stallion
Lanez says, “I want my listeners to walk away with an understanding of how my emotions are and I want them to understand that this is an honest depiction of how I feel about relationships and people that are close to me.”
Eddie Murphy wishes fans would better appreciate the “intricacy” of the special effects makeup he has to endure for his comedy movies, because it’s often a “thankless” job.
The star has so much respect for the work of the hair and makeup experts he collaborates with on franchises like “The Nutty Professor” and “Coming to America,” but he always regrets coming up with his wacky disguises whenever he has to spend hours in the chair to make his transformation come to life.
Speaking about his experience with movie makeup during an appearance on BBC Radio 1’s Movies with Ali Plumb, he said: “Every time I do it I say, ‘That’s the last time, I’m never doing this s### ever again,’ and then I’ll get an idea and, ‘Ah s###, where the makeup chair?’ and I’ll end up sitting in the chair again, but I never forget and it never gets any easier.”
“The process didn’t get any easier on (new sequel) ‘Coming 2 America’ than on ‘Nutty Professor,’ it’s still six hours in the chair put it on and an hour-and-half to take it off after everybody’s left at the end of the day. You’ve had this s### glued on your face for 12 hours and then you have to go and sit and have them peel it off for an hour.
“It is work, it is drudgery and it’s even kind of thankless because the audience doesn’t appreciate it. If it’s really, really, really done right, the audience doesn’t think, ‘Oh, it’s a makeup, how much work is it?’. They just watch it, they get the laugh, but they’re not seeing all the work that goes into it, so you kind of take it for granted, you know?”
As such, Eddie gets a real kick when people actually react to his movie makeovers.
“A perfect example of that is when I did ‘Nutty Professor,’ it’s a scene where everybody is all round the table and sat in these makeups for hours and hours. It takes three hours to shoot a sequence, but I get an Oscar nomination for ‘Dreamgirls’ for one little moment, it was a scene where I gave a person a look and all the critics were like, ‘Ah, that look that he gave! He should be nominated for that!’
“It’s like, they take for granted all that other stuff, but so much work goes into it and it’s kind of thankless, but it is personally rewarding afterward when you get a reaction.”
Today charismatic Los Angeles bred rapper Pure Luxury delivers his new single, “WTH” With a desire to make music that goes well beyond just the L.A. sound, Pure Luxury releases the upbeat and commercial friendly track from his upcoming project Original P. Refusing to stick to the script and with his sights on the end of the pandemic “WTH” visual is a hilarious slice of Pure Luxury’s humor.
“The project is called Original P, I feel like my sound is like current and diverse on this project, but it’s still cohesive and as far as the sound,” Pure Luxury said. “People’s attention spans are so short, that I think for people to appreciate it they have to hear music that is straight to the point.”
“Enrgy is this producer that made the beat, I found him on Youtube and his s### is crackin’, this s### be going crazy. It’s just a turn up song, I was irritated at my girl and I had to make something to turn up. That’s how I release my frustrations, I think people are gonna relate to it.”
Raised in Inglewood and L.A.’s west side of the city, Pure Luxury is a multi-talented rapper who also plays the guitar, saxophone and drums after his parents introduced him to music around the age of 5 or 6. Having previously attended USC’s Thornton School of Music, Pure Luxury stepped away from college amidst the Coronavirus pandemic and the school’s rising cost of tuition of more than 75k per year.
“I’ve been making music since I was 5 or 6 years years old. I play guitar, saxophone, drums stuff like that and I started just going crazy making beats in high school and my friend inspired me to rap. After unsuccessfully trying to get big rappers on beats I said f*ck it I’m gonna do it myself,” Pure Luxury explained.
“Then I went to college, I never even wanted to go to college, but I went to school at USC and I went to the Thornton School of Music. I went because it made my parents happy and you have to get what you need out of the school. I just didn’t want to go into debt – 200 racks for a degree.”
From quitting school to touring with YG on a nationwide tour Pure Luxury has had quite the run as he recently recalled his time on tour with YG and first getting his shot to blow up.
“When I went on tour with YG it was crackin, then I thought I was about to blow up once I was about to go on tour with Game too. YG had hit me and his little brother tapped in and started managing me and I ended up signed to the president of 400 Ent, D Moore in 2020. The whole timeline is crazy but pretty much I signed a deal and he was giving me a little bit of bread but I didn’t feel like we utilized everything we had. I’m pretty much at the point with this whole Coronavirus stuff where I’ve upgraded my sound, I’m more mature with my sound and what I was doing was good, but it was some West Coast sh*t and I don’t want to get boxed in.”
When asked to describe his sound, Pure Luxury explained that his sound is upbeat, turn up music, where he’s not trying to be the greatest rapper ever lyrically, he just wants to make radio hits.
“It just depends on what kind of mood I’m in, but my sound is fun and upbeat and it’s turn up music. I mean honestly man I just want to get to the bag, it just depends on the mood but as far as songs are involved I just want to drop some bars on a song – I’m just trying to make radio. I don’t need crazy lyrics. I don’t care if I’m the greatest rapper ever, I just want to make stuff that’s dope,” he added.
Describing his new project Original P, Pure Luxury said he wants people to have fun during this time of stress and tragedy with COVID-19. The new video for “WTH” reflects that fun and excitement that’s building for when things open back up in L.A..
“I just want people to feel good when they play WTH. It’s upbeat and I know when the scenes open back up, I’m going to be back on the scene,” Pure Luxury said. “I’m not no street dude or a hood banger, I’m not gonna cap. People be thinking I’m signed with a big crazy budget when they see my visuals, but we are just a small independent label.”
Megan thee Stallion is teaming up with U.S. Representative Sheila Jackson Lee and charity officials to help rebuild homes for those in need in her native Houston, Texas following their recent deep freeze.
The “Savage” rapper has joined forces with the politician and executives at the National Association of Christian Churches (NACC) Disaster Services to provide aid to senior citizens and single mothers whose properties were impacted by the deadly winter storms which struck late last month.
The new initiative will be supported by bosses at brands Megan is affiliated with, such as Revlon, Fashion Nova, and Coach, as well as her label 300 Entertainment, and Dolce & Gabbana.

And her “Body” music video co-star Taraji P. Henson and Maroon 5, her new collaborators on the song “Beautiful Mistakes,” have also been listed as donors to the fund, which will continue for the next two years.
In a statement, the Megan said: “Seeing the devastation and hearing the heartbreaking stories that have surfaced, I knew I had to do something to help my hometown.
“I am so happy that Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, the NACC and I aligned on the goal of repairing the homes of the elderly and uninsured single moms who are the most vulnerable and often displaced by these kinds of devastating events.”
Megan isn’t the only Houston native to give back to the community following the snow storms – Travis Scott and Beyonce have also stepped up to help the less fortunate in their hometown.
Rap star Young Dolph and Megan thee Stallion may have to give up some of the money from their hit single “RNB,” thanks to a goth group who claims the song is stolen.
A popular band called Midnight Syndicate claims the song’s producer Juicy J ripped of their track “Nocterm Aeternus” and blatantly used over 94% of the recording to make “RNB.”
Midnight Syndicate is upset because no one ever bothered to contact them, much less sought licenses and permission to sample almost all of one of their best-known songs.
Before Juicy J got his hands on it, “Nocterm Aeternus” was best known for being used in the opening credits of a movie called “Vampire Resurrection” starring Denise Duff.
To add insult to injury, Midnight Syndicate, which is known for helping to popularize the genre of Halloween music, says Young Dolph credited Willie Hutch as a writer on the song, since :10 seconds of his track “Love Me Back” was used at the beginning of “RNB.”

“Defendants’ acts of infringement were and are willful because Defendants Juicy J and/or Young Dolph (in concert with one or more of the other Defendants) knew they did not own the Copyrighted Noctem Aeternus Recording and Copyrighted Noctem Aeternus Composition, yet they still created ‘RNB’ (feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” entirely based on Plaintiff’s copyrights without Plaintiff’s permission and without ever seeking permission. Defendants’ sample was not merely a few seconds but lasted for the entire duration of “RNB (feat. Megan Thee Stallion),” according to a complaint filed by the group’s lawyer, Mark E. Avsec of Benesch, Friedlander, Coplan & Aronoff, the firm repping the band.
Midnight Syndicate is looking to yank the single from record stores and streaming platforms until the legal matter is sorted out.
Additionally, Midnight Syndicate wants all copies of Young Dolph’s album Rich Slave to be removed from the DSPs as well until the legal beef surrounding “RNB” is resolved.
Midnight Syndicate is suing Young Dolph, Megan thee Stallion, Juicy J, Paper Route Empire, and Empire Music, for at least $600,000, for copyright infringement.
Fans are currently awaiting a release date for the rapper’s upcoming album, Certified Lover Boy, which he delayed to focus on his recovery from knee surgery.
In a statement to fans on his Instagram Story, Drake wrote: “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery.
“I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January. I’m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”
So far, the Grammy-winner has released the lead single, “Laugh Now Cry Later,” featuring Lil Durk.
Drake previously admitted he expects some people to “hate on” his new record like they did 2016’s Views.
Responding to a fan who said Views “be hittin’ different” four years later, Drake replied: “They hated on Views just like they will CLB (Certified Lover Boy) but it’s music to evolve to.”
Is he that good with the beats/hooks/flow/lyrics or am I conditioned? Or does he just keep using the snair & drum beats which get me everytime? #ScaryHours2#Drake#HowTF

Known for his camera work with The Dream, Yungeen Ace, and Busta Rhymes, A1Vision recently directed the official music video for Frank Vanegas “Pick You Up.” The HD-clip follows Frank’s The Cratez-produced single, which was created immediately after the Queens, NY based Latino Hip-Hop artist was released from prison on distribution charges. Led by choreographer Jerry “Curls” Paulino, the visual for the Caribbean-infused cut finds Vanegas surrounded by an assortment of aesthetically pleasing women. Under a piercing red light, in what appears to be a VIP lounge, he recites the song’s lyrics while taking time to work the room and entertain each piece of eye candy.
Born and raised in Queens, New York, Frank Vanegas’ passion for music began at a very early age, but it wasn’t until the Colombian-American rap act completed his 30 month prison stint for drug distribution that he started taking his career seriously. Returning home with a renewed mindset, he began penning songs based on real life experiences while blending conscious trap and traditional Hip Hop.

Tekashi 69 has hit back after being accused of sliding into Lil Nas X’s DMs.
The rapper found himself in hot water after allegedly making a homophobic comment about the “Old Town Road” star while referring to a story about China’s recent decision to make COVID-19 a### swabs mandatory for foreign visitors.
“Lil Nas X entered the chat,” Tekashi appeared to comment on the post, which was shared on TikTok and Twitter.
Nas addressed the controversy by sharing the screenshot and asking Tekashi “this you?”

“Yo,” Tekashi wrote in the message from October last year. “Gonna be in ya city soon what you doing lol?”
However, Tekashi hit back in a video shared to his Instagram page, in which he showed himself going to his messages to prove that he hadn’t contacted Nas.
“Before this s### blows up, lets just nip this s### in the bud,” he said in the clip.
But fans were quick to point out that despite Tekashi’s denial, Instagram users are able to unsend messages.

“The original BOOST freestyle was a song I dropped in 2018 on Soundcloud over a Kodak Black instrumental. It signified the start of me making music that directly reflected what I was experiencing in life. Last year, I was working on a track called “P##### Off” with my producer Twiist about a woman who pushed me off the deep end. Around the same time fans started flooding the comments on my life after I previewed the original. As a thank you for all the support they have given me in the past, I decided to release this studio-quality version.”
Less than a week removed from his debut lectur,e at Harvard, BJ The Chicago Kid collaborator and seasoned Nashville rap authority Derek Minor unloads his latest single “Clean.”
Paired with the Will Thomas-directed visual, the record serves as the Reflection Music Group co-founder’s premiere release of 2021.
The HD clip finds Minor doing donuts on deserted terrain in a silver Audi with his head out the window reciting the song’s lyrics.
Derek on the song:
“2020 wasn’t what any of us expected it would be but now that we are in a new year, it’s only right we leave the past behind and focus on making 2021 ours. “Clean” puts how we are all feeling into the perfect perspective: we’re not dealing with drama, we’re making our goals happen and not letting anything get in our ways,” stated Derek.
Have you seen Coming 2 America yet? Coming 2 America is this sequel to the original of almost the same name, which came out in the late 1980s! It stars and Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall, and a host of others that created a classic that has endured for 30 years. The original did not get 5-start ratings…
Moving on!
Well, the movie is “back” and it has everybody’s talking once again! I just wanted to say, that Coming 2 America dropped early last night! I was trying to catch a stream and didn’t because it was a bad link, but I went to my Amazon account and it was there. But why?
Well, it’s pretty simple! Just like I said, everybody was trying to get to the movie! It was in such high demand, that I believe Amazon opened up the floodgates so that the people could get the movie as they were trying to get it. There were numerous streams and opportunities early for critics and journalists, but not others. I am others. Also, there was a case of piracy and bootlegging!
Soon as the digital files are released, it was open to be stolen and re-purposed in other ways. Amazon knew that there is/was an extreme high likeliness that the movie that they promoted for months would be released to places they could not monetize. So they opened it up for everyone early to subvert that sort of piracy.
So what are y’all think about the movie?
I have not seen it yet but I do intend to watch it all tonight as I initially intended, because I don’t have anything else to do on a Friday night. Watching it last night would’ve ruined my weekend. So I am going to check it out and let you know later. I will say this, Coming To America (the original) is a hard act to follow, and this movie has a big burden to bare. I am surprised they even tried it! I see some of the reviews and it’s not so good, but some of the others give it a little bit of slack and some concession for the modern era. So let’s check it out! Give it a shot y’all!
Last year, Chance The Rapper made it back into the Top 10 of the Hot 100 chart as a guest feature on Justin Bieber’s “Holy” single. Chance also teamed with Jeremih for Merry Christmas Lil Mama: The Gift That Keeps On Giving.
The Chicago-bred, Grammy-winning musician returned this week with the new song “The Heart & The Tongue.” A music video for the track was also uploaded to YouTube on Friday. Chance made his solo directorial debut with the visuals.
“I’m proud to be releasing new music again and even prouder to be honing my film skills, and getting better behind the camera,” states Chance The Rapper. “The Heart & The Tongue” was shot at the House of Kicks music and film studio in his hometown.
In December, the 27-year-old wordsmith partnered with Facebook’s Oculus Venues to present the special Chi-Town Christmas virtual concert film which Chance also directed. He adds, “My favorite thing in the world is performing – but I do really think that virtual concerts are the future.”
Quavious “Quavo” Marshall appears to be on the verge of making major moves to advance his personal brand in the entertainment landscape. The Migos rapper now has a well-established industry insider in his corner to assist with making that happen.
According to Billboard, Quavo tapped SB Projects founder Scooter Braun for talent management. The long-running publication reports the Atlanta-raised rapper will also continue to work with his current manager, Danny Zook, as well.
Braun helped guide the careers of Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, J Balvin, YG, and others. The SB Projects’ website described the company as having “an established track record of helping its clients achieve worldwide fame and commercial success within a short period of time after working together.”
Quavo already has a lot of projects in the works. He and his Migos comrades, Offset and Takeoff, are said to be finalizing the Culture III album which is expected to be released sometime this year. Plus, Quavo was cast in the upcoming Wash Me in the River film with Hollywood acting legend Robert De Niro.
“I’m a ruthless gangster, ruthless killer named Coyote,” Quavo told Billboard about his role in Wash Me in the River. “It’s just an honor to be on the screen with Robert De Niro, Jack Huston, and John Malkovich. I’m just blessed and I can’t wait for y’all to see it. It’s a very action-packed movie. I had fun doing it.”
In the meantime, Quavo has been spending time with the newly freed from prison Bobby Shmurda. They celebrated Shmurda leaving New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility by flying the “Hot N####” rhymer home in a private jet.
