50 Cent Toasts Luxury Life And 2020 Success At Swanky Party

50 Cent is admittedly all about the money, after tossing his support behind Donald Trump’s re-election bid for President.

50 elected to endorse 45, after he learned of Joe Biden’s plan, which could levy a tax of up to 63% on the wealthiest people in New York, California, and New Jersey.

👀WHAT THE F###! (VOTE ForTRUMP) IM OUT, 🏃‍♂️💨F### NEW YORK The KNICKS never win anyway. 🤷🏽‍♂️I don’t care Trump doesn’t like black people 62% are you out of ya f###### mind. 😤

Even in the face of severe criticism, and calls to boycott his hit show “Power,” 50 did not back down from his support of President Trump.

50 was delighted that what started as an Instagram post, earned him the cover of The New York Post.

Last night (October 21st), 50 rejoiced in his luxury lifestyle at an event for magazine/lifestyle brand Haute Living. The magazine hosted the “Haute Living Celebration of 50 Cent” with the Watches Of Switzerland brand in Manhattan.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, arrived with his girlfriend Jamira “Cuban Link” Haines, to commemorate the rapper’s recent successes.

In 2020, 50 was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, he launched the TV show for life on ABC while delivering another season of his hit show “Power” for Starz. 50 Cent also recently announced a new three-picture deal which will see him producing a trio of untitled horror movies.

He also released a new book called “Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter,” and executive produced Pop Smoke’s critically acclaimed number #1 album Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon.

In August, 50 was the cover story for Haute Living magazine. He chatted about his financial goals, which illustrated how he achieved his phenomenal success – and why he supports for President Donald Trump.

“Even if I cleared a billion dollars, I’d go, ‘OK, I think I’m going to invest in this.’ It’s putting the money back into something else that I think was cool,” 50 told the magazine. “For me, it’s the whistle while you work concept: I don’t involve myself in things that I’m not really passionate about. Plus, I have an end goal; I’m trying to achieve generational wealth for my little guy.”

EXCLUSIVE: Famous Dex Talks Dedicating ‘Diana’ To His Late Mother

Famous Dex returns with his most personal project to date: Diana. The 17-track project serves as the follow-up to his critically-acclaimed debut effort Dex Meets Dexter, with the name dedicated to his late mother who passed away from breast cancer.

Off the rip on the intro track “See The Pain,” Dexter shows off his melodic side, crooning about the pain of missing his mother who’s no longer by his side. Setting the mood for the album to unfold, previously released singles “What I Like” ft. Rich The Kid & Tyga, “Proofread” ft. Wiz Khalifa, “Couped Out” ft. Fivio Foreign round out the album, taking you back to Dexter’s go-to braggadocious bars and turn up anthems.

Boasting 4.8 million followers on Instagram alone, the 27-year-old carries a cult fanbase – all of whom can appreciate his out-of-this-world personality. If there’s one message Dexter has for the youth, it’s to stay true to yourself and do whatever you need to make your dreams come true.

AllHipHop caught up with Dex via Instagram live, a few hours before he unleashed the album to the world. Read below as we discuss what this project means to him, his son’s favorite song, selling out his Lyrical Lemonade drinks, and celebrating the coinciding documentary to Diana which reveals layers of the Chicago native you’ve never seen before.

AllHipHop: What are you most excited for with DIANA dropping?

Famous Dex: I’m really excited because I want to give my fans what they’ve been waiting on. My fans are so thirsty, they’re waiting on this album. I got my own filter too. [plays with IG filters]

AllHipHop: This is your second album since 2018, what took so long?

Famous Dex: My first album is certified Gold. Not going to lie, this album right here is crazy. I’ve been giving the fans so much pushback, so I want to give the fans something personal. It’s called DIANA, and we ain’t talking about Michael Jackson. [laughs]

AllHipHop: The project’s dedicated to your mother, who passed away from breast cancer. What was your guys’ relationship?

Famous Dex: Losing my mom to breast cancer, this is a special one for me. I hit my A&R Q and Tashana, “you know what, let’s just drop the song in October with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” This is special to me.

AllHipHop: Are we getting more personal records from you? You make a lot of turn up s###.

Famous Dex: Fasho. Me and Trippie Redd are actually dropping a video for “Solar System,” that s###’s so fire.

Everybody’s going to see all my fans’ comments in the solar system, it’s going to be real nice. It’s going to be fire. I’m proud of myself with this one. I’ve been working so hard to get to where I’m at, to get to this point. I never give up, I’m not going to give up.

AllHipHop: Was it hard to narrow it down to 17 tracks?

Famous Dex: Actually, it was easy. My whole process is when I go to the studio, I have to do 10 songs before I leave. I do over 10, probably 15 songs a day. 10 songs make me mad.

AllHipHop: Your fans are crazy Dex. [laughs]

Famous Dex: I got some weird versus crazy fans, I don’t pay them no mind. I don’t really look like the comments because what they say don’t make me s###. Somebody said they want the old Dex, well listen. You can’t get the old Dex, let me tell you something. If you get the old Dex, you’ll get the lean-drinking Dex, the xan-popping Dex, the Dex that was doing dumb s###. You don’t want the old Dex.

AllHipHop: On “Covered In Diamonds,” you said “sipping lean like it’s coffee.” You don’t drink lean anymore?

Famous Dex: Nuh uh, I stopped when I stopped. I mean, nothing’s easy when you’re doing something for so long, especially when it becomes a habit. You’re not holding science, I’m not a fiend for it. You are who you hang around, I’m around the right people who are telling me that’s not the right thing to do.

AllHipHop: How do you feel? Do you feel way better?

Famous Dex: Actually, I feel 110%. I cut my dreads off, I feel good. I feel handsome. I cut my dreads off 2 weeks ago. It feels great, them little red things was the devil. I had them for 3 years babes.

AllHipHop: You still smoke though right?

Famous Dex: Is the pig’s p#### pork? Okay then.

AllHipHop: I was watching the “Covered In Diamonds,” do you pray every morning you wake up?

Famous Dex: Yeah, I pray everyday. I pray every morning. I prayed before I even got on this Live. Ask God to let me have a good time, make sure everybody in this house is having a good time. Everybody on this Live having a good time, everybody who’s watching us this whole time, the whole 490 people watching us. Make sure we’re having a good time and stay prayed up. One thing that’s for sure is God keeps life going up and down.

AllHipHop: What can we expect from the documentary?

Famous Dex: It’s going to be a lot of tears. A lot of people are going to shed tears because they haven’t seen… they know what they’ve seen, but they don’t understand what I’ve been through.

AllHipHop: Your own limited edition Famous Dex Lyrical Lemonade drink is completely sold out. Did you even get some?

Famous Dex: Yeah, I got a box for my son. My son drank them. My son is 3, he calls me Famous Dexter. It felt good. When Cole [Bennett] told me it sold out, it felt like can’t nothing can’t stop me. Can’t stop nothing, God got me in the right place. I got a good team, shout out my whole 300 team. They’ve been supporting me, everything’s good. Shout out to my manager Murda, he’s been right there with me.

AllHipHop: What is your son’s favorite Famous Dex song?

Famous Dex: My son’s favorite Famous Dex song is on the album, “Hold On” is the name of the song.

AllHipHop: Anything else you want to let us know?

Famous Dex: I want to let people know my name is Dexter. Stay healthy, stay safe.

Terrence Howard Says “Empire” Used His Face As A Logo And Ripped Him Off

Terrence Howard is suing 20th Century Fox over his continuous association with the hit series “Empire.”

Terrence starred as “Lucious Lyon” for six seasons of “Empire,” until the series crashed in the wake of the Jussie Smollett alleged fake hate crime scandal.

Terrence alleges 20th Century Fox is using his image and likeness for the logo for the series, yet they have not compensated him a penny. He says the creators of the show never even sought authorization to use his face to be the logo for “Empire.”

The actor insists someone simply took a still photo of him in a scene from the hit 2005 movie “Hustle & Flow,” added a few filters, and used the reworked image for “Empire.”

Terrence Howard says he would have made a lot more cash had 20th Century Fox properly licensed his image.

The actor is suing for damages, as well as a full accounting of all the money “Empire” has made selling merchandise using the logo.

T.I. Channels Notorious B.I.G. For New Hype Williams Directed Video “Hypno”

Nicki Minaj Shares Adorable Picture Of Her Baby Boy

Nicki Minaj thrilled the Barbz last night (October 21st) when she unveiled the first photo of her baby boy.

Nicki and her husband Kenneth Petty celebrated the birth of the child, to mark the first anniversary of their marriage. However, Nicki remained extremely protective of the newborn, who came into the world on September 30th.

Instead of sharing a full image of the baby, Nicki Minaj simply shared a picture of the infant’s feet along with the caption: “Happy Anniversary, my love ♥️.”

Nicki Minaj and Kenneth Petty wed in October of 2019, after just one year of dating. Despite Kenneth’s controversial past and status as a registered sex offender, a dust-up with ex-boyfriend Meek Mill and some legal problems over her husband’s residence, the couple has been flourishing.

So far, they habey yet to reveal the baby boy’s name. Take a look at his feet below:

50 Cent Mocks Young Buck And How He Almost Get Merked!

The rapper Young Buck is back in the headlines – for all the wrong reasons. The rapper, who was once signed to 50-Cent’s G-Unit Records, has been in and out of trouble much of his life. But it seems like he has found some trouble that almost took his life.

In an incident, that is still investigated, Young Buck’s ex-girlfriend was shot at by his ex-girlfriend. The girlfriend was arrested promptly for busting the shots at Young Buck. Whether or not Young Buck was actually hit remains to be known. The police are looking for Bucky in an effort to get more information and perhaps even make sure he is alive.

His one-time girlfriend was booked at Sumner county jail and reckless endangerment charges with a deadly weapon. Lucresia Neil sits in a Sumner County jail and will likely be single for a long time.

50 Cent didn’t help things when he posted the following:

We tried to interview Young Buck a ways back, but that would not happen. When you think about it, if we did interview Young Buck, it would’ve disrupted the space-time continuum. DAMN. When you think about it, we should have worked harder to get that interview, because by interrupting the four-dimensional continuum, we would have altered a history unseen, therefore preventing him from even getting into a fight with this ex-girlfriend!

Furthermore, we all know that Mercury is in retrograde! Buck didn’t listen or know, but he better know now! Stay away, Buck and get us our interview so you can throw off all this weird energy!

Kodak Black Staying Busy In Prison With New Projects

Kodak Black is getting back to business, now that he has been moved away from some torturous prison guards.

Kodak, whose legal name is Bill K. Kapri, claimed guards at the Big Sandy maximum-security prison in Inez, Kentucky were persecuting him.

Kodak said he was attacked by seven guards during a fight with correctional officers, who allegedly whacked him with metal objects.

Then they humiliated him by poking his genitals while sending an alarming warning: “you’re not so gangster now, you’re gonna need bigger balls to survive.”

Last week, the rapper’s team disclosed Kodak has finally been moved from Big Sandy to USP Thomson in Illinois.

Just days after his transfer, reps for Kodak announced a new album titled Bill Is Real, which will drop on November 11th.

Bill Is Real is one of a series of endeavors Kodak is working on as he serves out a three and a half year prison sentence for federal weapons violations.

A docuseries about the rapper is in the works, and his team has stayed active promoting the rap star’s Sniper Gang apparel while safeguarding the brand from bootleggers.

Chicago’s Z-Gang Talks New Single “UP”

Coming on the back of the success of his last two singles “Slide With Me” and “Live” featuring rising star T-Rell, seasoned Chicago rap artist and producer Z-GANG is back with a brand new single titled “UP,” taken from his forthcoming album set to be released on Thanksgiving, November 26th. Born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Z has been making music since the age of 14 and continues to shine.

AllHipHop had a chat with the Wind City native recently to talk about the single, his upcoming album, and plans for 2021.

AllHipHop: Tell us about your new single “UP.”what’s it all about?

Z-GANG: The track is about motivation. It’s a celebration for the underdogs. Everything I rap about on “UP” is real life, my real life. I’ve been down so long that it’s nowhere else for me to go but up, hence the title of the single. I’m a winner not a loser, you feel me. My message is simply never give up, your blessings are coming.

AllHipHop: What was the creative process behind making the single?

Z-GANG: I literally woke up one morning thinking about how the world has been just in shambles so I decided to make something motivating for the world. I headed to the studio and got it done in about an hour.

AllHipHop: How about your last single ‘Live’ with T-Rell, how did you both connect and what was it like working together?

Z-GANG: T-Rell is a good brother. He motivated me during a tragic time in my life and I respect his grind. We had similar stories so I reached out to him and we did business, it was great working with him. All it took was one night and the song was done. He’s now a family member to me and I also work with his producer Rob Stovall ‘BKA’ Yxng Stov who also produced two songs on my new album.

AllHipHop: What can you tell us about your upcoming album which is set to be released this Thanksgiving?

Z-GANG: You know when you go to mom’s or grandma’s house and you get the best food and it’s seasoned perfectly. Nothing else tastes better than home cooking. That’s exactly what my album feels like, everything goes together, it’s seasoned just right so it’s time to eat, and you will be full.

AllHipHop: How has the current pandemic and lockdown affected your music plans this year and how have you been able to adapt?

Z-GANG: It definitely stopped the show grind, but it made me find the way to my people. So it’s been bad and good, but you can’t go wrong with God.

AllHipHop: What’s the biggest realization you’ve had this year?

Z-GANG: I can do all things as long as I’ve got a brain.

Z Gang
Z Gang

AllHipHop: As a music artist, what are you still trying to learn?

Z-GANG: With me being an artist, producer and running a business, I believe you should try to learn everything there is because you can’t know enough, so I’m always in learning mode, the possibilities are endless that way.

AllHipHop: How would you describe the current state of Chicago rap and what do you bring to the table?

Z-GANG: There are too many hidden gems here, I love Chicago music new and old. As for me, I’m bringing my real life to the table and I’m showing what guidance is for the ones in the back.

AllHipHop: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received and how is it influencing you today?

Z-GANG: An O.G of mine always tells me to never give up, and reach 1 teach 1. It got me still standing on the south side of Chicago, IL till this day.

AllHipHop: What comes next for Z-Gang? What does next year look like for you?

Z-GANG: Only God knows truly, but we’re going ten times harder in 2021! I will be everywhere, web or in person… Big shout out to AllHipHop for the love and support!

Rihanna, Travis Scott, ‘Verzuz’ & More Earn 2020 YouTube Streamy Award Nominations

The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 shut down the live concert industry around the world. Recording artists and deejays had to figure out alternative ways to entertain the public and earn income.

Several new digital experiences emerged out of that coronavirus-causing dilemma. In particular, many Hip Hop representatives turned to the online space to offer internet-breaking presentations for the millions of fans quarantining at home.

The 10th annual YouTube Streamy Awards are now acknowledging some of those cultural influencers by nominating them in the Live Series category. Swizz Beatz & Timbaland’s Verzuz, BET’s House Party,  and D-Nice’s Club Quarantine will compete against Bright Minded: Live with Miley Cyrus and Reunited Apart with Josh Gad.

Other notable nominees include Travis Scott’s “Travis Scott and Fortnite Present: Astronomical” (Live Special), Will Smith (Crossover), Pepsi’s “Gift it Forward with Cardi B” (Multi-Platform Campaign), Post Malone’s “COVID-19 Response Fund” (Nonprofit or NGO), David Dobrik and Justin Bieber’s “SURPRISING PEOPLE WITH JUSTIN BIEBER!!” (Collaboration), Liza Koshy’s Liza on Demand (Scripted Series), “Undercover Lyft with Alicia Keys” (Social Good Campaign; Company or Brand), Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls (Branded Content: Series), and Cole Bennett (Cinematography).

The Kid LAROI Named Spotify’s Newest RADAR Artist

Charlton “The Kid LAROI” Howard is getting the support of a music industry giant. The Los Angeles-based rapper from Australia was chosen as Spotify’s third U.S. RADAR Artist. He is now part of a group of 115 RADAR-affiliated emerging acts from around the world.

The Juice WRLD protégé joins Alaina Castillo and J.I The Prince of N.Y as selections in the streamer’s American division of RADAR. When asked what he is looking forward to as a U.S. RADAR artist, The Kid LAROI answered, “Everything. Looking forward to seeing how the fans receive everything. The family’s growing stronger and stronger every day.”

LAROI’s RADAR campaign will include features in the RADAR playlist, a Spotify Singles recording, promotional support for his upcoming releases, a full suite of OOH and on-platform marketing, and social promotion. Plus, a mini-documentary about the 17-year-old “Go” performer will premiere in November.

The Kid LAROI is an artist we’ve been watching closely for the last eighteen months,” says Ned Monahan, Spotify’s Head of Global Hits. “LAROI developed a rabid fanbase in Australia, and then translated it to an even bigger audience in the U.S., which is incredibly rare and speaks to his potential as a global hitmaker. The vulnerability and boldness of his music places him at the heart of young music audiences across the world. We can’t wait to see LAROI break on a superstar level.

Amber Rose To Kanye West On Bullying Her For 10 Years: Just Leave Me Alone

Before starting a family with Kim Kardashian, Kanye West was in a very public relationship with Amber Rose. They parted ways after two years but continued to address each other in the media following the breakup, including West saying he needed to take 30 showers after dating Rose.

The former celebrity couple famously went back-and-forth in 2016 over West slamming Rose’s ex-husband Wiz Khalifa and mentioning their young son, Sebastian, on Twitter. She fired back by claiming that Ye enjoys being stimulated by having fingers placed in his a###.

Rose recently sat down with Adam22’s No Jumper podcast. The conversation included the SlutWalk organizer talking about her ex-boyfriend and his alleged treatment of her since their split in 2010.

“He has bullied me for ten years,” said the model/author/former stripper. “I think if you looked up every time he has bullied me online, I haven’t looked it up, I’m sure a lot of stuff will come up. But I just moved on. I’m happy. I have an amazing husband. I have two beautiful kids.”

Rose continued, “He just called me a prostitute at his [rally]. He called me a prostitute, ten years later. Just leave me alone. I don’t bother you. I don’t talk about you. Obviously, it comes up in interviews because it’s a big part of why I’m famous, so I try to give good interviews by not shying away from that, but at the same time it’s like, ‘Bro, just leave me alone.'”

Waka Flocka Flame Thinks Donald Trump Is A Better President Than Barack Obama

The 2020 presidential election ends in 12 days. On November 3, United States citizens will cast the final ballots to decide which candidate will be the next POTUS. According to reports, more than 35 million Americans have already voted this cycle.

Over the last few weeks, Hip Hop artists have revealed their support for incumbent President Donald Trump over former Vice President Joe Biden. For example, 50 Cent suggested having lower taxes for wealthy people is more important than being concerned about Trump’s racist rhetoric and policies.

Now Waka Flocka Flame has publicly endorsed the Republican candidate too. Instagram blogger DJ Akademiks uploaded a clip of former President Barack Obama’s speech on Wednesday where he called out Trump for his poor COVID-19 pandemic response, making up facts, constant rage tweeting, and other issues.

One IG user commented under the Akademik’s post, “[It’s] people who really think Trump is a better President than Obama.. [clown emoji].” Waka then responded, “Guess I’m a clown.” His statement sparked debates in the comment section about the two politicians.

Celebrity endorsements usually become talking points during election season. Trump has received the backing of entertainers such as 50 Cent, Asian Doll, BlocBoy JB, Kid Rock, James Woods, Stacey Dash, Dana White, Conor McGregor, Colby Covington, Kirstie Alley, Hershel Walker, Stephen Baldwin, Roseanne Barr, Isaiah Washington, Scott Baio, and Jon Voight.

Biden secured the approval of individuals like Diddy, Cardi B, Common, Ludacris, Jermaine Dupri, Jeezy, Monica, John Legend, Frank Ocean, Janelle Monáe, LeBron James, Taylor Swift, Steph Curry, Halle Berry, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Cuban, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, and the late Chadwick Boseman.

Is Jeezy Ready To Go One-On-One Against T.I. In A ‘Verzuz’ Battle?

Tip “T.I.” Harris has made it clear he wants to face 50 Cent in a Verzuz hits-for-hits battle. While a potential Fiddy faceoff does not look to be happening anytime soon, T.I. has faced challenges from other rap stars.

Busta Rhymes recently called out T.I. to step into the ring against him for Verzuz. The Atlanta-raised rhymer declined that matchup by stating, “Busta’s one of the most phenomenal talents of our time… I salute and respect Busta a whole lot. I just think the generational gap might be a little too much.”

Well, fellow Atlanta native Jeezy has now stepped up as a possible challenger for Tip. The Snowman said on Instagram, “I don’t know what you’re avoiding me for. I’ll tell you what though since it means that much to you, put a date on it. I ain’t gonna meet you there, I’m gonna beat you there. Straight up. Big Snow.”

It did not take long for T.I. to respond to his “G’ S###” collaborator. He hopped in Jeezy’s Instagram comment section to post, “Hmmm could this long time constituent of mine be referring to me??? @jeezy.” Verzuz curators Swizz Beatz and Timbaland have yet to announce the next musical bouts.

Missing Tekashi 6ix9ine Finally Found – In Tattoo Shop

Tekashi 6ix9ine has gotten two brand new tattoos during a session that debuted on several fan-pages dedicated to the rapper on Instagram.

It has been some weeks since the world has heard or saw anything from Tekashi 6ix9ine and his recent emergence could be a sign that he sees brighter days ahead.

After surviving an alleged overdose, a lawsuit from a minor featured in a sex tape that he participating in producing, and a poorly selling album, the “Gummo” rapper appeared to be getting some floral ink.

The rapper inked two rainbowed colored stylized-sunflowers on each of his shoulders. What is the significance is the sunflower (even if they are cartoonish)?

According to some, the flower represents faith and spirituality. However, it also represents someone’s desire to be free and walk in their individuality, drawing its power from its face and petals facing the sun.

Lastly, the typically golden beauties are perennial, lasting over two years. This suggests someone becoming stronger, resilient, and determined to weather storms that might come their way.

It seems that the 24-year-old father is looking to invite that kind of energy into his life after a few years of unbelievable turmoil.

In November 2018, the unicorn-colored Brooklynite was arrested on federal racketeering charges in association with the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods set.
Three months later, he pled guilty and agreed to cooperate with the Feds to get a more lenient sentence. His testimony helped the government arrest and convict 11 of the alleged gang members, while reduced his sentencing substantially.

In December 2019, 6ix9ine was sentenced to 24 months in prison. He was released on house arrest five months later due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and his asthma.

Dr. Boyce Watkins Defends Ice Cube And Tells Why Donald Trump Is A Viable Option For Black Liberation

Segments of the world continue to debate about Ice Cube, the rapper/actor that has become an unforeseen force in the election landscape. Cube, known worldwide as a rebellious intellect in Hip-Hop, met with members of Donalds J. Trump’s administration after feeling he was brushed aside by Team Joe Biden. And just like that, the barbershop talks and debates carry on feverishly over social media and, at times, mainstream outlets. It almost feels like a civil war inside of a civil war.

While the world feels completely chaotic and out of order,  Dr. Boyce Watkins is extremely clear on his views and his allegiances. Watkins is a long-time professor, economist, political analyst, and commentator and he’s riding with Ice Cube. Like Cube, he’s got a bone to pick with the Democratic Party, who he feels has taken Black people for granted far too long. And both men feel that the liberation of Black people is contingent on working with whoever is in power and, right now, Donald Trump is absolutely in power. Their views have caused a multitude of conversations, disagreements, and affirmations.

Boyce Watkins and Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur host a Q&A conversation and the outspoken former professor talks about Biden and Trump, as well as all the exculpatory evidence he feels exonerates Ice Cube from his detractors.

Late Notorious B.I.G. Selling Pepsi In New Commercial

The Notorious B.I.G. is hawking Pepsi from beyond the grave.

An unreleased freestyle by the late rapper has been turned into an advertisement by the soft drink behemoth.

According to Variety, Pepsi teamed up with DJ Enuff and Cey Adams to rework a freestyle from B.I.G., which espouses the virtues of drinking aa three-liter bottle of the soda.

The Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, originally dropped the verse about Pepsi in 1997 when he was recording at D&D studios with DJ Enuff.

The verse was remastered, and Pepsi created a short animated video for the spot which dropped today (October 21st).

The news comes as The Notorious B.I.G. is set to be inducted posthumously into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame on November 7th.

While he was alive, Biggie released one album: Ready To Die (1994). His second album Life After Death was released on March 25th, 1997, 16 days after he was cut down in Los Angeles in front of the Petersen Automotive Museum.

Unfortunately, no one has ever been arrested for the murder of one of the world’s best-known rap stars.

Samuel L. Jackson Feels More At Home In Gabon, Africa

Samuel L. Jackson feels more “alive” when he is in his ancestral homeland of Gabon than he does in the U.S.

The “Pulp Fiction” star, 71, has been tracing his ancestry for “Enslaved,” a new BBC series about the trans-Atlantic slave trade and the fate of 12 million stolen Africans, and has since accepted a Gabonese passport.

Explaining his affinity with the country and traveling there, he tells The Guardian: “I feel invigorated by it. And it makes me feel alive in a way that I don’t feel here – it gives me a sense of belonging in a world that I deserve to be in.”

The star also feels lucky his fame has given him and his wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, who produced the series, the resources to undertake DNA testing, and discover the precise African tribe his ancestors were members of before they were abducted and taken as slaves to the U.S.

“A lot of people tried to trace themselves and find out where they came from – all they could find out was maybe a country,” he adds. “So to go through what I went through – to find out what tribal ancestry I had and to be able to step back into – it was a really emotional, satisfying feeling. There’s a fullness that comes upon me, every time I land in Africa. As I step on the ground, everything sort of changes.”

Samuel’s ancestors were members of the Benga tribe – a people who lived on the coast of what is now Gabon and Equatorial Guinea and LaTanya says her husband’s ancestry comes through in his love for the sea.

“I see some aspects of their culture that he inhabits naturally in his DNA. He loves the sea – he always did – only to find out that these people were beach people, they were people at the edge of the sea. It’s a joy for me to see him in that setting,” she explains.

“Enslaved” continues on BBC Two on October 25th.

EXCLUSIVE: Rapper Consequence Details Health Crisis As He Fights Diabetes And Lupus

A Tribe Called Quest member and former “Love & Hip Hop” rap star Consequence has exclusively revealed to AllHipHop that he is battling two deadly diseases: Type 1 diabetes and lupus.

The double dose of autoimmune diseases has not only complicated the life of the Queens emcee. They have also taken the lives of two icons directly in his Hip-Hop lineage: producer J. Dilla and fellow Tribe member Phife Dawg.

“I have what winded up taking the lives of J. Dilla and Phife as a combo,” the gifted songwriter told AllHipHop.com. “For people that don’t understand in its context, the irony of it is because those are both people I started my career with.”

J. Dilla died from Lupus in February of 2006 at age 32, while Phife died at age 45 from complications related to diabetes

“To be this sick late in life, and those are the things that took those gentlemen from us, it’s a lot to take in. But I’ve always been a fighter,” Consequence told AllHipHop.com.

He has been a fighter. Growing up in Queens in the shadow of his famous cousin, Q-Tip could not have been easy. When Consequence debuted on the 1996 Tribe album, Beats, Rhymes, and Life, some folk floated that his relationship to one of the hottest rappers in the game was the only reason he got on.

They were wrong.

As constant comparisons to the Abstract grew, carrying the blessing and burden of being associated with one of Hip-Hop’s greatest groups made it difficult for many to view him as a solo artist.

But Consequence flourished after he secured a record deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. in 2007. His debut Don’t Quit Your Day Job! showed the world that he was a force to be reckoned with. As a ghostwriter, emcee, and all-around creative, he has risen to heights that he could have never imagined.

Despite his current illness, which he said was like having “two pistols pointed at his head,” Consequence has been blessed and he knows it.

“This wasn’t even something I thought I was gonna be able to get up from, to be honest,” Consequence told AllHipHop.com. “It got to a point where I was 105 pounds, and even at my son’s birthday party, August, I was like, about 113 114, somewhere in that neighborhood…but I’m blessed. I’m in the 130-140 range.”

Cons has made many sacrifices and personal changes in his life, in addition to dealing with the mandatory COVID-19 precautions that many in America have been asked to make.

And while these changes have come at a neck-breaking speed, Consequence is taking what the medical professionals say to heart. He also understands that mental wellness is key to conquering the demons that come with being so sick.

“I’ve had to make some dramatic, drastic changes upkeep wise as far as diet is concerned. I’ve stopped eating red meat,” Consequence told AllHipHop.com. “I’m still attempting to rid myself of the fried chicken monster. You got to make choices, you know. I’m not trying to torture myself, but I have to be cognizant of the repercussions of indulging in certain foods.”

Kandie Is Far More Than An Entertainer, She’s A Lyricist!

When you have the gifted talented of being able to rap, you don’t let it go to waste. Insert Kandie, best known for her roles on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood and Wild ‘N Out. As you know, both shows require
out-of-this-world personalities and the world quickly fell in love with the “hottest rapper b#### out of Compton, California.”

Remixing songs like Kap G’s “Girlfriend,” Nicki Minaj’s “Yikes,” and Cardi B’s “WAP,” who does it better than Kandie? Not only does she do her own stunts, but she’s talking her s### in each bar. With nearly all her music videos doing numbers organically, Kandie is the definition of a hard-working recording artist who loves music down to the core. Beyond that, her Youtube channel is filled with her amazing cooking videos, just one more layer to her vibrant persona.

With 4 projects out to date, she’s excited as ever to be debuting her newest album aptly titled The Hottest Rap B####. Having been writing this project for 2 years now, this is the most personal fans will see of Kandie yet. AllHipHop spoke with Kandie at the Kandypens house in the Los Angeles hills to discuss her roots in Compton, rap influences, her first time getting high, her time on Love & Hip Hop Hollywood, and staying positive during these times.

AllHipHop: Being from Compton, what was the household like growing up?

Kandie: It was beautiful, it taught me a lot about who I am. It was challenging, but I decided to embrace myself and my city at the same time. My first video shoot as Kandie got shot up.

AllHipHop: How old were you?

Kandie: I was 20 when I first came out as Kandie. It was literally “get this f-g sh-t out of here,” shot in the air. It’s challenging being from somewhere you love and embrace so much, that has a hard time fully embracing you. But it’s my city, you know how that goes. I be back and forth from LA and Atlanta.

AllHipHop: I love Atlanta!

Kandie: I love Atlanta, see how that switched? We all gay out there. We all out there. It’s a difference, but sometimes I have to come back home where I came from. My dad’s my #1 supporter. He wanted to come today, I’m like “dad.” [laughs] The thing about him, he’s never even cared to tell me what to do or how to do it. He always wants to be there like “that’s my son, that’s my baby.” Thanks pops.

AllHipHop: When did you realize you could do music for a living?

Kandie: When I was serving. I went from Cheesecake, then I was at Olive Garden for 2 years. That’s when I realized “okay I could either be serving these tables, refilling their soups and breadsticks all day, or I could be writing.” I was working hard to take all the money I was earning from serving tables, and put that towards my music videos. I’d go broke, my wigs. My first $800 wig, they gon’ see me in this! It was platinum blonde, it was long. It was bomb. I like my wigs full. My 50 inch? My 50 inch was depending on the color, 2 bands.

AllHipHop: You have your own hairline too, do you wear your own hair too?

Kandie: Oh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about $1500. It’syaboiKandie, I’m a hustler.

AllHipHop: You pride yourself in being a lyricist, who are your top influences?

Kandie: That’s why I called my new project The Hottest Rap B####. Nowadays, everything is in other than the lyrics. I made sure I really wanted to highlight that I rap. Definitely J.Cole is one of my favorites, I love his storytelling. Of course, Biggie. Ludacris has one of the best deliveries to me, he’s so versatile. Of course Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Drake. I’m real picky with who I listen to, but I keep them in a heavy rotation. Of course, Lil Kim, Trina. A lot of people are aware of drag, it’s an impersonation. What I like to do is keep the art of female rap and entertainment alive, so I love Kim, Trina, Jackie Oh!

AllHipHop: Bring us back to when you first smoked weed.

Kandie: It was such a bad experience, I told myself I’d never smoke again. My niece is a year older than me, I know it sounds crazy. On my 18th birthday, she said “I’ma get you high.” Technically she’s older than me so if she can do it, so can I. We smoked, all I remember is we went to Church’s Chicken. I was ordering, I told her “I want my own 2-piece, give me a strawberry soda.” The lady hands me a Sprite, I’m arguing with her for about 30 seconds. I wrap it up trying to be mature, “you gave me this Sprite, even though I asked for a strawberry. But it’s okay, have a blessed day.” We get in the car, my niece said “you asked for a Sprite.” I can’t. I was arguing very bad. I’m like “you sure?” She’s like “I didn’t want to make you look stupid in front of her.”

AllHipHop: Do you prefer Sativa or Indica?

Kandie: I’m a Sativa girl. I need to be up. Because if I get down, I’ma be down. Wherever we are, I’ll be down.

AllHipHop: What’s your favorite song you’ve remixed?

Kandie: Probably “Good Form,” I performed that at Baltimore Pride. They showed me so much love onstage. I didn’t know it’d hit that hard with my fans, it was pretty lit.

AllHipHop: Do you miss performing?

Kandie: Girl, do I? Yes! The stage is where you feel alive. I’m about to get back to performing later for my album, I’m excited about that.

AllHipHop: What do you miss about it?

Kandie: Just the energy the crowd gives back to you is unmatched. You can tell when people are feeling it. I’m used to getting in front of crowds who probably don’t know me, but still kill it and rock it. I love getting in front of it, getting that love back. It makes the dream of being a rapper, a musician, feel the most alive. It’s one thing to put it on a song, put it into the world. It’s another to put it on a song and perform it in front of people, you can tell they like it. I love that feeling.

AllHipHop: Pros & cons of Love & Hip Hop? Why did you only do one season?

Kandie: There were pros? I’m joking. [laughs] Although I had a big following, it really catapulted me to a larger audience. It solidified okay, maybe this is a celebrity person. I do like that no matter what, they always refer back to my music. No matter what the tea was, at least it tied to my music. I didn’t get too caught up into tea that’s so crazy and messy. The con is it gave a misperception of me to a lot of people who don’t know me. My fans know I’m a hard worker, I got it from the bottom. I’m not really a messy person, I be in my own world. But they showed me a lil messy though, don’t they do that to everybody?

AllHipHop: Anything else you’d like to let the people know?

Kandie: My album Hottest Rap B-tch on October 27th, on my birthday. I’m a Scorpio, we turning up. Tune into my album, I know people have been waiting for it. The time is now, I can’t wait for you guys to go get it and enjoy it.
