Travis Scott has taken his love for Hip-Hop, gaming and making money to a whole new level with his most recent advancement as a strategic creative partner with the PlayStation family.
One of the world’s leading video game hubs made the announcement this week, noting how exciting this organic association is for the brand.
Eric Lempel, Senior Vice President, of PlayStation Worldwide Marketing, SIE told the story of how it all connected.
“We heard Travis is a huge PlayStation fan,” Lempel shared. “So, we started a conversation with him that led to this unique partnership. Through our mutual passion for gaming and creativity, we plan on collaborating with Travis and his Cactus Jack brand to produce innovative projects that we hope will delight our collective fans.”
Almost all of his lucrative ventures are locked in with his lifestyle and personal joys – and the Playstation is one of them.
“Travis is an artist who is incredibly innovative, constantly surprising, and continues to push boundaries, very much like the PlayStation brand – so we think this is a perfect fit,” Eric Lempel continued. “When we embarked on this collaboration, the most important thing was to keep it as open as possible, to allow space to explore interesting, creative ideas.”
Travis’ bond with PlayStation is related to his childhood. In speaking about why he believes this relationship will resonate with Scott’s fans, Lempel said that the new venture lines up with what fans love about the Houston, Texas hitmaker.
“Travis’ deep knowledge and fond memories about PlayStation as a brand, our products, and games will inspire his work with us from start to finish. He is an amazing creator, and we strive to work with the best creative minds inside and outside of our industry to continue to surprise the world in a way that only PlayStation can, ” Lempel concluded.
Curly Savv is a 21-year-old, baby-faced rapper with a story to tell. Hailing from Canarsie, Brooklyn in New York, the rising star has been killing it independently, even receiving a super rare cosign from 50 Cent.
Having started making music at the young age of 16, it was in 2016 when he threw out his first record: a feature on “Gang Gang Gang” with Dah Dah. From that video along, Curly Savv began elevating and “it was only up from there.”
From playing football to creating a buzz on Facebook, Curly turned to music as an outlet to share his real-life experiences. As part of the Brooklyn drill scene, he joins the likes of Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, and Rah Swish in keeping The Woo movement alive for generations to come. Most recently, he released his new single titled “Blue Chips,” inspiring the masses to get up and get to the money.
Moving from New York to Florida to Los Angeles in pursuit of where he would fit in best, Curly landed in Los Angeles which he has called home for several years.
AllHipHop caught up with Curly Savv in downtown Los Angeles to discuss his upbringing on the East Coast, new single “Blue Chips,” the Brooklyn drill scene, a 50 Cent shout out, his friendship with Fivio Foreign, goals, and more!
AllHipHop: You’re from The Floss, what were you seeing growing up?
Curly Savv: It’s like every other hood. You got your bad days, your good days. I really didn’t get into that much trouble, everyone was cool with me. Everybody f##### with me. Before I was rapping, I was already popular in my hood. Had my little Facebook days.
AllHipHop: At what point did you realize this music thing was forreal?
Curly Savv: It was in and out. There were times I felt like giving up on this s### and times when I got my confidence back. Ups and downs.
AllHipHop: What’s the inspiration behind your name?
Curly Savv: The word curly, I got that from my hair. When I was a kid, my hair was mad curly. I was skinny. I was playing football, one of my football teammates gave me that name really. He was calling me Curly Fries, I’m like “nah I’m not really feeling it.” As I got older, street s###. N*ggas gave me the Savv. Savv is short for savage, put it together. It’s different.
AllHipHop: How do you like Los Angeles?
Curly Savv: It’s nostalgia. It’s the vibes. It’s calming. I got the high rise downtown.
AllHipHop: New single “Blue Chips,” what are you most excited for?
Curly Savv: “Blue Chips” is one of those don’t overthink records. I really went in the booth, gave off the vibe of what I felt in my head that day. I freestyled that, one of my songs I didn’t write. I like the inspiration of all that s###: my everyday life, hustling, experiences I go through. What getting money does, the involvement of it, all that.
AllHipHop: What can we expect from the video?
Curly Savv: I got some females in my video. N*ggas be telling me I don’t really be having a lot of girls in my videos. I got a desert scenery, there’s 3 females. Some old school vibe. It’s a good vibe, one of my best videos I got right now.

AllHipHop: How was linking with Rah Swish on “Hide Out”? What’s your guys’ relationship?
Curly Savv: That’s my boy. When I started rapping, he’s part of my group: NBA. Never Broke Again. It’s crazy, there’s a long story behind NBA Youngboy and our NBA. We came out at the same time but of course, he made it mainstream. Rah Swish is on my home team. He in my camp, so it’s nothing to do a song with him. We got plenty of songs together, it’s genuine love.
AllHipHop: What does it mean to put on for the New York drill scene?
Curly Savv: I’m in a position right now where I’m underrated. A lot of people don’t know their history behind the whole drill scene. It’s crazy to say I’m basically the first person to come out of Brooklyn with that whole drill movement. You got to really know the whole history beyond the s### to see what’s really going on. That’s my job right now, I got to throw that out there so the world can really see what’s going on. This drill s### is me, not a wave I’m jumping on. This is how I came out as an artist.
AllHipHop: Did you know Pop Smoke?
Curly Savv: Yeah, I knew Pop. Pop from my hood. Fivio, all of them. I got songs with Pop, Fivio.
AllHipHop: What was it like seeing him take off?
Curly Savv: He gave that extra motivation for me. Alright, this s### is actually possible. Even when I was doing it, the industry really wasn’t trying to empower the whole drill scene. The whole movement going on, they didn’t really understand it. When I was coming out, artists from my era, it was harder for me to move around with that drill s###. When Pop came out, he gave his little creativity to it and gave an understanding to it. Made it a movement, nothing but love and respect.
AllHipHop: What was your reaction to hearing the news?
Curly Savv: That s### was awful. I was on a plane on my way back to Brooklyn when I heard the bad news. For me, I couldn’t believe it. It was crazy, a very emotional time.
AllHipHop: How did “Runtz” with Fivio Foreign come about?
Curly Savv: Actually, the original “Runtz” was with me and Pop Smoke. That song “Zoo York” with Lil Tjay, Pop Smoke, and Fivio, that verse on there was originally on “Runtz.”
AllHipHop: What happened?
Curly Savv: His label clearing. They’re always going to pick up someone signed over an independent artist.
When I threw my project out, it was two months after. That time, it was just a single. Boom, get a record together now, how we going to go about this situation though? It was mad in and outs and loops to that whole record. That’s why my manager got up with Fivio’s team, we ended up doing the record with Fivio. Fivio didn’t have no problem clearing the record, so we went with that option right there.
AllHipHop: What is it you want fans to get from your story?
Curly Savv: My music is a whole lotta energy. If you’re in a down mood, you could always listen to my music. It’s motivation. It’s workout, active music. A lot of creativity, you could hear it in my music. I talk about all the things I’m going through in the moment. You hear all the lingos, a whole different style.
AllHipHop: You released “MONEY & COLORS” back in April, how much money you got on you @ all times?
Curly Savv: “I like my money in colors…!” Facts. That’s a good ass question. If I’m shopping, I probably got bankrolls on me. I don’t got a credit card, I don’t got a bank card. No credit.
AllHipHop: Where do you keep your money?
Curly Savv: In the safe. N*ggas can’t pick my safe up, that s###’s too heavy. You ain’t going far with my s###.
AllHipHop: Who’s in your Top 5?
Curly Savv: I honestly f### with everybody. If I really, really had to choose, 50 Cent is first. 50 was the first artist that gave me that spotlight. He shouted me out when I was 16, on Drink Champs. This was when A Boogie was coming up, I was coming up. He said “you got some kids coming out of Brooklyn: Curly Savv, he’s 16. That was a good experience. I’m a Brooklyn n*gga so 50, Jay, DMX, Jada, then myself.
AllHipHop: 3 things you need in the studio?
Curly Savv: Weed, smoking my opps like Runts! My friends, I need a vibe in the studio. And snacks, food.
Curly Savv: Not going to lie, I’m a fat ass n8gga. I be smoking. I’ll eat, smoke, get an appetite again. Be having the wild munchies. I like ice cream, cookies, chips.
AllHipHop: How tight is your circle out here?
Curly Savv: Real tight. I don’t really have that many LA friends. All my friends out here are from where I’m from, it’s a family thing. I don’t really gotta worry about that, we tight. No squares in my circle.
AllHipHop: What happened when you first smoked weed?
Curly Savv: The first time I smoked weed, I was in an alley with my friends and I was smacked. I was high as hell. I don’t even remember what happened, I know I was high as hell. I ain’t never smoked weed again. I’m like “this s###’s not for me.” I’m panicking, I’m paranoid. I was 13 or 14, young as s###.
AllHipHop: What do you like about “Kehlani”?
Curly Savv: That was another inspirational song. I told her I made a song for her, I literally DMed her. She said “oh, I appreciate it.” She seen mad people tag her in the s###. She hit me up like “why people tagging me in this?” I told her I made a song for her. In the song I said “lil mami, lightskin tatted,” you feel me? I literally was on my Instagram like who’s lightskin, tatted? Who can I really use right now? Kehlani was perfect.
AllHipHop: What can we expect music-wise?
Curly Savv: I’m about to go on a little rampage. I’m about to throw a couple singles out back to back. You can definitely look forward to some new singles, new visuals. A whole lotta me, a day in the life. Really trying to bring my fans in more, capitalize. Make them love me for myself and not the music only.
AllHipHop: Talk about the independent grind.
Curly Savv: Well, the independent s### ain’t easy. We have plenty of situations on the table, but we don’t want to jump the gun. It’s better to wait sometimes, give it some time. We learning as we go along. It’s a lot of ups and downs, mistakes, but it’s gonna be worth it in the end. In the long run. Everything’s there, it’s just timing.
AllHipHop: What goals do you have for yourself?
Curly Savv: When I get rich, I want to invest into my own football team. Do the new s###, get them their own field. Invest in some music. I want to have businesses. I want to open up a hookah lounge in LA. I can’t predict the future, I’m really going with the flow right now. I definitely want to capitalize on the world as much as I can. Not only the U.S., I got a lot of fans overseas. Definitely once the world opens back up, do shows. Get myself out there.
AllHipHop: What are we doing for your birthday?
Curly Savv: Going to Texas man. All the clubs are open. You know what they say, everything’s bigger in Texas.
Two time GRAMMY Award-nominated rapper Joyner Lucas has announced the premiere of his eagerly awaited new EP titled Evolution. The project is now available at all DSPs and streaming services via the Worcester, MA-based artist’s own Twenty Nine Music Group label and is heralded by a dramatic official music video for the song, “Snitch,” directed by Lucas and longtime collaborator Ben Proulx and streaming now at YouTube.
“Evolution is the art of growing and changing,” says Lucas. “Most people never evolve. This is me using music as my therapy to speak on things that kept me in a dark place. It allowed me to open up about who Joyner Lucas is and why. Being able to open up about things I used harbor inside has allowed me to grow as a person and evolve. Hopefully it inspires others to do the same.”
Evolution is the follow up to Joyner Lucas’ acclaimed album, ADHD that featured highlights from such icons as The Game, Rick Ross, Iyla, and Elijah James as well as production by studio luminaries like Leo Son, Mr. Carmack, Tom Misch, & Jordan Rakei, Boi1da & Jahaan Sweet, Chris Ballard, Juicebox Slim, DillyGotItBumpin, Cameone, Curtis Crump Jr, Samarei, & Hug Alessandro, Nick Papz, Yung Talent, & Koda, DMac & BJ Beatz, Kyle & Superstaar, and Donato. The project was first revealed this Summer with the visual arrival of “Fall Slowly ft. Ashanti,” a sultry, sexy video where speculation of their relationship hit the online tabloids like a firestorm.
A dedicated philanthropist, innovator, and entrepreneur, Joyner Lucas created both ADHD and EVOLUTION entirely on the groundbreaking artists platform, Tully. Founded with manager/technology entrepreneur Dhruv Joshi, the Tully App puts the power of production, promotion, and distribution into the hands of the creators themselves, enabling the artist and their teams to better utilize digital tools while streamlining invention and the collaborative process.
Jay Z is aiming to revolutionize the legal marijuana business through his brand new company, Monogram.
Last year, Jay was brought on board to serve as the chief brand strategist for Caliva. Under their deal, Jay is helping Caliva grow their product lines and their retail operations.
The mogul’s new company controls their marijuana brand from “soil to seed.” Monogram says it has expert growers who ensure quality at every stage of the growth process.
“Precise control and constant monitoring allow our flower to reach its full potential as a superior smoke,” according to a press release.
More detailed information has yet to be released regarding Monogram’s product, or where they will be distributed.
In 2019, Caliva opened a New York deli themed dispensary as its first retail store in Bellflower, California.
After breaking onto the internet scene with his viral hit Trill Sammy which now has over 16 million plays and ever since bouncing off the early success of his smash single “Ripped Jeans”, Dice Soho turned the buzz into a major deal with famed producer Mike Dean. Now signed to Dean’s M.W.A imprint the Houston native has maintained an impressively upward career trajectory that continues four years in.
Don’t chalk it up to luck though. At only 25, Dice has an indomitable work ethic to go along with his talent. His latest album, “Gemini In Paradice” sums that up perfectly. Each of the project’s 14 tracks was produced in a different state or country with “Ms. Molly” Ft. 1Mill, FIXXD, YoungGu sending Dice all the way to Thailand, and returning a couple months later to shoot the video.
“Being around the Thai culture, recording music with the AD Gang & rocking festivals around Thailand so far was one of the best experiences.” Dice Soho explained to AllHipHop.com.
Dice Soho’s fans clearly appreciate the grind too because the video has accumulated over 2 million views in the month its been out.
“Gemini In Paradice” features Wiz Khalifa, Trill Sammy, Mozzy, E Mozzy, DESiiGNER, Kap G and more and is distributed by GT Distribution / Empire.
“I made “Gemini in Paradice” because I wanted to do something special on my birthday. It was my present for all my fans and supporters,” Dice Soho said.
That sentiment is typical Dice, who has had the same team around him from jump. Everything he does is personal, including his song choices. “Fast” comes to mind as one of my favorite moments while making this project.” Dice reveals. “It was meaningful. My brother turned himself in to prison a day before we made the record. I ended up linking with Mozzy and his brother E Mozzy.”
Busta Rhymes is the epitome of what a legacy artist should be.
Promo? He on it. Passion? He got it. Performance? It’s Busta.
And now Perseverance can be added, as the 48-year-old hitmaker has used the same energy to put out a competitive album in 2020, eleven years after his last studio project dropped, in addition to making sure that his Physique was just as tight.
The “Woo hah!” emcee drops Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God on October 30 but has clearly dropped a few pounds also.
On Instagram, he posted two before and after images to show just how serious he is about getting back in this game and delivering some serious (as he calls it) buss ass on the industry.
He captioned, “DON’T EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!! LIFE BEGINS RIGHT NOW!!! MY DEDICATION IS DIFFERENT!! I WOULD NEVER PUT OUT AN ALBUM AND NOT BE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!! I RESPECT MYSELF TOO MUCH AND I RESPECT Y’ALL TOO MUCH!!! I’M ONLY HERE TO INSPIRE!! #ELE2THEWRATHOFGOD DROPPIN’ 10.30.20 👀👀👀👀”
Busta Rhymes went on to thank his coach and team for supporting him through this journey.
“Thank you coach @victormunoz_proedge Thank you Legend @mrolympia08 Thank you King @kaigreene Thank you Icon @dominicandominator & @chefdeliche”
This epic revelation invokes another “p” word, “Priceless,” and makes a profound statement about ageism in Hip-Hop.
Days before, Atlanta rapper T.I. made light of the rap icon’s call out for a Verzuz battle. T.I. mocked Busta’s suggestion by claiming that the two were in different generations, essentially calling Bussa Bus old.
But with this post, he shows that age is really a mindset and has nothing to do with Productivity, being Plaudit, or having those Popular hits that it takes to win the battle.
Age simply shows that Busta has the discipline to come back and bypass all those who have been holding his spot until his return.
Bus, we are rocking with you and wish that our abs could look that great! One last “p” word … Props … Infinite Props.
Eminem endures! These days we see rappers morphing into different incarnations! Mostly, we see rappers leveraging their relationships and turns themselves into talk show hosts and Chatty Pattys (Dame Dash’s words, not mine)! But not Eminem. He makes big business moves, but he also continues to push the limits as an artist. His last album, Music To Be Murdered By, was his 11th! The 10th, Kamikaze, was dope even if he was angry as SLiM sHady on acid.
Music To Be Murdered By dropped in January 2020, which seems like a million years ago! Perhaps it seems like a million years ago to Eminem too. The rumor is that Eminem is looking to release album Number 12 on us sometime soon! Why? That is anybody’s guess. But, it could be another response to the critics that panned the last two. (Personally, I loved Kamikaze.) Or, it could just be time.
Time for another album! Nobody knows what that could be. BUT, the early talk is that it will have a lot of guest appearances. I don’t know for sure, but I suspect he may have some OGs on the album. This is pure speculation, I got admit! Perhaps he can reunite D-12 for the 12th album! If Meek Mill and Eminem could release albums, we might be able to salvage 2020! OK, toss a surprise Jay-Z album in there too!
Young Buck Sent To Jail After Girlfriend Tried To Kill Him
Rap star Young Buck has been sent to the same jail as his girlfriend, after the pair got into a wild domestic dispute in Tennessee this week.
Rapper Young Buck was taken to jail yesterday (October 22nd), just days after a crazy clash with his girlfriend.
Young Buck is presently being held in the Sumner County Jail on various charges stemming from a fight with his girlfriend Lucresia Neil.
On Tuesday (October 20th), Lucresia Neil was accused of blasting a shot at the rap star during a domestic dispute. She was charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon.
One thing I have noticed with all of the interviews that Ice Cube has been doing is that he has been growing this massive beard. I have not been able to figure out why one of the best rappers out of the West Coast and beyond has this incredible beard. It makes him look even more intimidating than he normally looks. Now, if he put on a Santa suit he would look like a grumpy ol’ Saint Nick.
Well, I found out the answer today! Ice Cube is working on a new movie that begins filming in the next couple of days and the role requires him to have this burly beard. That’s pretty much that! Ice Cube continues to push his Contract With Black America in various media outlets.
Time for that AHH chat! But on a different note, it seems like Cube is getting back to his normal business which is Rap and Entertainment. A conversation with Lord Jamar, Godfrey and Rah Digga was really dope! I mean, the politics and Trump talk was really a dead horse to me personally, but once they got into the hip-hop conversation, that was really dope. At any rate, it was nice to hear Ice Cube talking about things that we know him for. That is not to dismiss What he is doing in politics but just to say that politics is something we fight over and Hip-Hop is something we fawn over! You love my wordplay!
Saweetie drops her sassy new single, “Back To The Streets” featuring Jhené Aiko.
Timbaland produced the song featuring pretty piano chords and a bouncing baseline, which set the tone for Saweetie and Jhené’s lyrical lift-off.
The single serves to empower women and unite two of the baddest in music. Listen to “Back To The Streets.”
Pull up in my hood best dressed/Next thing, upgrade, who’s next/Rich boy got him on deck/Good boy, tell that n#### fetch/I put my new man on a leash/Traded in my old n####, he was just a lease
Check out the new video from Goodie Mob for their new video – “Frontline.”
The single is from the group’s highly anticipated upcoming album.
Goodie Mob, consisting of Big Gipp, Cee-Lo, Khujo, and T-Mo, Goodie Mob first formed in 1991 as a vital part of the hip-hop collective known as The Dungeon Family, which consisted of Outkast, Witchdoctor, Backbone, Big Rube, Cool Breeze, and P.A., led by the multi-platinum selling production team, Organized Noize.
50 Cent started a political firestorm when the outspoken rapper announced he is supporting Republican Donald Trump’s reelection bid because he is not a fan of Democrat Joe Biden’s tax plan for the wealthy. A lot of people specifically took issue with 50 writing, “I don’t care Trump doesn’t like Black people.”
One of those critics was 50 Cent’s ex-girlfriend Chelsea Handler. The comedian and former Chelsea Lately host blasted the Hip Hop mogul on Twitter for what she saw as his nonchalant attitude towards Trump’s disparaging remarks and policies directed at the Black Lives Matter movement against police violence and systemic racism.
Hey f#####! I will pay your taxes in exchange for you coming to your senses. Happily! Black lives matter. That’s you, f#####! Remember? https://t.co/uQsu7DHrRQ
Another media personality distanced himself from 50’s political stance too. Charlamagne Tha God of The Breakfast Club radio show made an appearance on the Fox Business network’s Kennedy program, and he talked about why he is voting for the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket for the presidency and vice-presidency.
“Unlike 50 Cent, I can’t pick racism and bigotry and fascism. I can’t choose that over my finances. My finances might just have to take a hit. We gotta get that fascism out of the White House,” said Charlamagne. “I’m not mad at 50. Honestly, 50 just said out loud what a lot of people were thinking. When I saw that, I thought that. I didn’t think I would vote for Trump, but I was like, ‘Jesus Christ, I live in New Jersey and work in New York. I’m getting hit in both states.'”
The South Carolina native went on to tout Kamala Harris’s record as District Attorney of San Francisco and Attorney General of California before she became a United States Senator. Charlamagne claimed public defenders referred to Harris as the “most progressive prosecutor in San Francisco.” He then discussed Harris’s work to provide jobs for nonviolent criminal offenders, her efforts to combat the human trafficking of young girls, and her opposition to the death penalty.
“I’ve been blessed with the gift of collaborating. Not every artist can collaborate with another artist and have the final product be something incredible. Many people have said that when you see a song that says, ‘featuring Ty Dolla $ign,’ you know it’s gonna be fire. As humbled as I am when I hear that, I can’t say I disagree,” declares Ty Dolla Sign.
The Featuring Ty Dolla Sign album landed on DSPs on Friday morning. The singer-songwriter’s third studio LP contains the star-studded guest artist lineup of Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Roddy Ricch, Post Malone, Jhené Aiko, Anderson Paak, Thundercat, Quavo, Lil Durk, Mustard, Kehlani, Future, Young Thug, 6lack, Gunna, Musiq Soulchild, Tish Hyman, FKA Twigs, and Skrillex.
”My approach to music has always been about frequencies, emotions, and energy. When I collaborate, whether it’s for my project or someone else’s, it’s always about marrying frequencies,” explains Ty Dolla Sign. “When I create a project and have artists featured on my songs, I don’t pick who the hottest artist is or what’s going to get the most streams, I choose which artist’s frequency is going to work best on the song. I use featured artists with the same precision that I would use any instrument.”
The Los Angeles native adds, “Everybody has their own side of ‘Ty Dolla $ign’ that they prefer: the go-to collaborator of all genres, the underrated king of R&B, the hitmaker of the often raunchy club banger, the multi-instrumentalist, and producer. Sometimes, I even want to use my different frequencies on my own songs.”
Featuring Ty Dolla Sign follows 2015’s Free TC and 2017’s Beach House 3 albums. His catalog also consists of numerous mixtapes and EPs. However, TDS says, “I decided to name my third studio album Featuring Ty Dolla $ign because there is truly something for everybody on this album. It features some of my most talented friends, on some of the best music I’ve made in my career.”
Busta Rhymes is still looking to go head-to-head against T.I. for a Verzuz battle. After T.I. basically ruled out that possibility because he feels the generational gap is too large between the two Hip Hop artists, Busta is now calling out The L.I.B.R.A. rapper once again.
The 48-year-old emcee returned to Instagram to address Tip. Busta wrote on IG, “My response to The King of the South @troubleman31. It’s ok to say it King [rolling on the floor laughing emojis]. YOU OFFICIALLY RAN FROM THIS ASS BEATIN’ KING!! But I still love you my brother!! IT’S THE KING!! [face with tears of joy emojis].”
Apparently, the Hustle Gang leader is still open to the idea of facing Jeezy. Early this morning, T.I. posted a subtle message on Instagram that seemed to suggest that an all-ATL matchup was in the works. He tagged @verzuztv and wrote in the caption, “I can’t F##### WAIT!!” along with a crown emoji representing his King of the South moniker and a snowman emoji representing Jeezy.
Back in June 2017, Colombian singer J Balvin and French producer Willy William united for the single “Mi Gente.” Three months later, a remix version arrived featuring vocals by global megastar Beyoncé.
It turns out Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, apparently played a role in Queen Bey hopping on the song. During an interview on the second episode of DJ Khaled’s The First One, J Balvin recalled how BIC inspired her mother’s involvement with the “Mi Gente” remix.
“I received a call from my friend Melissa who told me, ‘The only thing heard in this house or everywhere we go is “Mi Gente” because Blue was in love with the song and Beyoncé was always jamming to it and Jay-Z was always jamming to it,'” said J Balvin. “I was like, ‘Oh, for real. If Beyoncé’s daughter loves it, why don’t you tell her to jump on the remix?’ The worst thing you can get is a ‘no,’ right?”
J Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente (Remix)” eventually peaked at #3 on the Hot 100 chart, giving the two lead artists their first entries into the Top 10. Beyoncé also brought out J Balvin during the second weekend of her historic Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival performance in 2018.

When Rap Snacks was taken over by Master P, he said that he was committed to blowing the brand out the water — with expansive marketing campaigns, great-tasting flavors, and innovative partnerships.
This has been achieved by inking deals with top artists like Boosie, Trina, Migos, The Notorious B.I.G., Lil Yachty, and their most popular artist of them all, Cardi B. Their first partnership with Cardi produced several flavors of bagged goodies like Hot Cheese Habanero Popcorn, Jerk BBQ Wavy Potato Chips, and Honey Drip Butter Popcorn.
Now the brand is rolling out new pork rind snacks with three different tastes for the refined urban palate: Bar-B-Kurr with My Honey, Spicy Vinakurr, and BBQ Cheddar.
Cardi B’s New Line of Rap Snacks
Even more exciting than the delicacies, which can be found in Wal-Mart, is the voting initiative connected to it. Rap Snacks is participating in a “Get Out To Vote” campaign titled, “Rap Snacks Vote.”
They have produced a website that will give voters all the tools they will need to get ready for early voting, mail-in voting, and more on November 3rd, election day.
And, on each bag, there are built-in QRCodes to take munchers directly to the RapSnacksVote.com homepage to register. The tie-in comes as no surprise.

Minnesota Judge Peter Cahill has dismissed a third-degree murder charge from the case against Derek Chauvin, the former cop accused of killing of George Floyd.
The Hennepin County justice says that Chauvin will not be let off so easily. He will have to face the second-degree unintentional murder and a second-degree manslaughter charge.
The Hon. Peter Cahill, the judge at the helm of the case, denied motions to drop charges against Tou Thao, Thomas Lane, and J. Alexander Kueng.
The other ex-cops who were videotaped by a bystander watched Big Floyd die.
What does this all mean? Judge Cahill’s decision states the jury should decide whether or not the state of Minnesota has met the “burden of probable cause” to reach a conviction for all of the officers — excluding Chauvin.
“Third-degree in Minnesota is meant to be someone firing a gun into a crowd with no specific target or driving down the wrong side of the road,” Laura Coates from CNN said. “You mean to harm or know that you could harm someone, but you don’t have a particular person in mind or a personal vendetta.”
Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, the person appointed to lead the prosecution of Floyd’s police-involved death, said of the decision that it is a “positive step forward in the path toward justice for George Floyd, his family, our community, and Minnesota.”
“The court has sustained eight out of nine charges against the defendants in the murder of George Floyd, including the most serious charges against all four defendants,” Ellison shared. “We look forward to presenting the prosecution’s case to a jury in Hennepin County.”
Ellison is optimistic but many are not.
Rapper DNA released a song, “Once Upon a Time in America” that reimagined justice for not just George Floyd, but Sandra Bland, Ahmaud Arbery, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, and Breonna Taylor.
