MGK’s Girlfriend Megan Fox Invokes Witchcraft To Defend Claim She’s Making Sons Wear Girls Clothes

Machine Gun Kelly’s girlfriend Megan Fox has slammed claims that she made her sons wear girls’ clothing. She also insisted her accuser messed with the “wrong witch.”

Republican politician Robby Starbuck has faced criticism after he claimed to have overheard two of the actress’s children say they were “forced by their mom to wear girls’ clothes.”

Megan Fox has denied the allegation, insisting Starbuck was just trying to grab some headlines for himself.

“Irregardless of how desperate you may become at any given time to acquire wealth, power, success, or fame – never use children as leverage or social currency,” Fo wrote in an Instagram post alongside Starbuck’s original tweet. “especially under malevolent and erroneous pretense. Exploiting my child’s gender identity to gain attention in your political campaign has put you on the wrong side of the universe.”

Fox, who shares sons 10-year-old Noah, 9-year-old Bodhi and 6-year-old Journey with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green, went on to insist she wasn’t someone to be messed with.

“I have been burned at the stake by insecure narcissistic impotent little men like you many times and yet i’m still here,” she wrote. “you f**ked with the wrong witch.”

Starbuck recently tweeted he “used to live in the same gated community” as Fox’s family and often saw the kids playing at the park, before going on to accuse the actress of forcing her boys to wear girls’ clothes.

Austin-Green has also hit back at the claims, insisting they are the work of a “selfish” person.
“It’s a totally bogus story,” the Beverly Hills, 90210 star told TMZ. “There are only a few people in their world that can actually verify whether or not a story like this is true and I can tell you with absolute certainty it is not.

“This person trying to claim this is true is a perfect example of someone with selfish motives that does not care about negatively affecting a parent-child relationship.”

The discussion eventually turned to politics. Republicans dragged Megan Fox, while more liberals people rushed to her support.

Kelis Addresses “Scandalous” Bill Murray Dating Rumors—Kind Of

Kelis and Bill Murray set the internet ablaze after they were photographed together last week. According to the U.S. Sun, the “Milkshake” singer and eccentric Hollywood actor the two are romantically involved. However, neither one of them have officially confirmed (or denied) the report.

On Saturday (June 10), Kelis shared an Instagram photo of herself sporting a bikini. The comment section blew up with inquiring minds who were desperate to find out if the rumors were true. One commenter wrote, “Ma’am would you care to address these Bill Murray allegations?!? Cuz damn! What he doing with all that?!?” Kelis actually responded and said, “lol no babe, I wouldn’t bother at all.”

Bill Murray watched Kelis perform from the side of the stage at a London gig earlier this month. He’s also reportedly popped up at other shows of hers. Sources say the couple was also together at the same hotel and have been “getting close for a while.”

Kelis is historically quiet about her private life, much like she was during her time married to Nas. More recently, Kelis was married to Mike Mora who died from cancer in March 2022. She didn’t say much while Mora was sick—not even after he passed away.

But if the rumors are true, she’s moving on. A source reportedly said, “They were both seen at the same hotel, and he’s been to watch her perform several times before he went to Mighty Hoopla. But they’ve also both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them.

“Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap.”

Meanwhile, Murray recently mourned the loss of his ex-wife Jennifer Butler—who he split from in 2008 after more than 10 years together—following her unexpected death in 2021.

Souls of Mischief—Phesto, Tajai, A-Plus and Opio of the Hieroglyphics—is currently in the middle of a massive 93-date tour in honor of 93 Til Infinity, their seminal debut. It’s been a wild ride thus far. While performing at London’s Jazz Cafe, someone decided to swipe one of their special tour jackets.

The group quickly issued an ultimatum on Instagram, writing in a since-deleted post, “This person is not a fan of our legacy at all. Yes we have the video of the theft in our possession thanks to the wonderful staff here. The thieves (yes her too) have until tomorrow night at 8pm to return the jacket with it’s belongings or we will post and repost the clip to our media outlets and sincerely ask for all of our followers, family and friends to repost.

“Our footage of the theft is clear as day and we will do whatever it takes to identify (him/her) if you do NOT come forward. We have two more shows at this venue where we’ll also announce the thievery and bring awareness to what transpired with the intent to ID this cat.”

The jacket was ultimately returned and Souls of Mischief have continued on their expansive trek. On June 13, they will land in Toronto, hit Quebec the following day and head to Vermont on June 15. Stops in Boston, New York City, Philly, Baltimore, D.C. and Atlanta are among the many cities left. The group will also perform at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado on September 17 with Atmosphere, Danny Brown and more. Find more information here.

Pharcyde meanwhile, has been performing as a trio as of late. Despite B##### Brown’s absence, Imani, Fatlip and Slimkid3 crush their setlist each and every night, performing all the classics, including “Drop” and “Runnin’.” As for the upcoming Novo show, details are available on the Goldenvoice website.

Sugarhill Gang And Sugar Hill Records: A Legacy With Alleged Ties To The Mafia

Hip-Hop pioneers The Sugarhill Gang and their record label, Sugar Hill Records, have long been subjects of intrigue and controversy, particularly regarding their alleged ties to the Mafia.

Founded in 1979 by husband and wife Joe and Sylvia Robinson, along with Milton Malden, Sugar Hill Records was a groundbreaking label specializing in Hip-Hop music.

The label’s first record, “Rapper’s Delight” by the Sugarhill Gang, was the first top 40 Hip-Hop single, marking a significant milestone in the genre’s history.

However, the legacy of the Sugarhill Gang and its record label is subject to controversy.

In a recent interview with AlHipHop.com, Wonder Mike and Leland Robinson, the son of Joe and Sylvia Robinson, opened up about their experiences with the label and its alleged connections to the Mafia.

They provided an inside look into the operations of Sugar Hill Records.

“Back in the ’80s, ’70s, whatever, my father had number spots in New York City. He was one of the head dudes who ran all the number spots in Harlem, and they all turned money into him, and he turned it into, I guess, the mob,” Leland Robinson revealed to AllHipHop.com on “The Amazing AllHipHop Podcast” with Chuck “Jigssaw’ Creekmur and DJ Thoro. “So his ties started from there.

“Once you’re doing good business with the mob, I guess, you know, they take care of you, yeah, regardless of whatever the situation is. So he got involved with the mob through the numbers business,” Robinson explained.

The alleged Mafia ties were not just rumors within the music industry. The connections were confirmed in a book titled “Stiffed” about the Mafia and the music business.

“He was like the stand-up dude from Harlem that’s now in Jersey…anything he wanted. He had these people behind him,” Leland Robinson told AllHipHop.com.

These revelations provide a new perspective on the history of Sugar Hill Records, a label known for its significant contributions to the Hip-Hop genre.

The alleged Mafia ties add a layer of complexity to the narrative, highlighting the intersection of music, business, and organized crime in the late 20th century.

Sugar Hill Records was known for its in-house producer and arranger, Clifton ‘Jiggs’ Chase, and recording engineer, Steve Jerome.

The label enjoyed several years of success and produced several music videos, including a young Spike Lee’s first (unofficial) music video for the song “White Lines” performed by Melle Mel and the Furious Five. Other artists on the label included The Treacherous Three, Sequence, Funky Four Plus One, Crash Crew, and, ironically, West Street Mob.

However, a distribution deal with MCA Records led to protracted litigation, and the label eventually closed down in 1986.

“We were just kids from the neighborhood who wanted to make some music,” said Wonder Mike, a member of the Sugarhill Gang. “We didn’t know about the contracts, the deals, the Mafia. We just wanted to rap.”

The group members also discussed the harsh realities of the music industry at the time, including exploitative contracts and the struggle to make money from their music.

“The money is in touring and merchandising,” Robinson explained. “You never really make any money from the company.”

The Sugarhill Gang and Sugar Hill Records left an indelible mark on the music industry, shaping Hip-Hop music. And as the members reflect on their experiences, they desire to keep the legacy of the group and the label alive.

“We’re trying to keep the legacy going,” said Wonder Mike. “We got a lot of stuff going on – movies, TVs, commercials.”

Despite the alleged Mafia ties and the struggles they faced, the Sugarhill Gang remains a symbol of the early days of Hip-Hop. Their music is a testament to a genre just beginning to find its voice.

SZA Says Small Town Upbringing Made Her Scared Of Fame

SZA is “scared” of being famous. During an interview with Elle, the “Kill Bill” singer admitted she had to take time out to “mentally prepare” for the chat because of her struggles with anxiety.

“Some people think that, like, me having anxiety or me being shy or struggling with self-esteem is an act,” the 33-year-old shared. “I’m just, dead-ass, a person. Everybody else has feelings and fears. Why wouldn’t I be scared to be famous? Would you be scared to be famous? Because I’m famous, I’m not allowed to be scared? I wasn’t born famous. I had regular quiet-ass parents from a small town like everybody else. And I guess at some point I’m supposed to acclimate to all of this?”

SZA, real name Solána Imani Rowe, has often spoken about her anxiety in the past. After the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, the singer shared several photos of the event and opened up about struggling to be out in public.

“I hate being outside more than I can explain,” she wrote at the time. “I have really debilitating anxiety, and I’m only posting these cause Y’all woulda found em anyway. Thank you to my team n my mama. Least I’m alive (sic).”

SZA is currently in the middle of the European leg of her SOS Tour. The trek, which began in February, will wrap up in Phoenix, Arizona on October 29.

Lil Durk Says He’s “Down To Drink Pee” In Scraped Verse For Drake Single

Lil Durk is one of many collaborators Drake has worked with over the years. In April, the two rappers connected on “Search & Rescue,” a single released through OVO Sounds/Republic Records. The track peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts.

The original version of the song leaked on Saturday (June 10) and finds Lil Durk rapping about some interesting subject matter. As posted on Genius, Lil Durk apparently wouldn’t mind drinking his girlfriend India Royale’s urine as part of their sex life.

He raps, “I’m worse than Kevin Gates, I’m me (Yeah, yeah)/India know I’m down to drink pee (Woah, woah, woah, I-I-I)/OP, mix it with the lean (Yeah, yeah).”

As Lil Durk suggests in his verse, Kevin Gates has said some decidedly outrageous things about what he does behind closed doors. In January, Gates admitted to drinking a woman’s urine while driving, which is what Lil Durk is referencing.

Speaking to the host of the Fancy Talk Show, Gates was asked about using urine during sex and he replied, “I love it. I love for a woman to p### in my mouth, that’s beautiful.”

He added he once drank a woman’s urine while behind the wheel: “I had a woman pee in a cup while I was driving and I drink it, right there, because there was just nothing. I was so infatuated with this woman to where there was nothing about her that was nasty.”

As for Lil Durk fans on social media, they aren’t impressed. One said matter-of-factly, “Aye i am no longer a Lil Durk fan.” Most people seemed genuinely disgusted by Lil Durk’s confession.

The official “Search & Rescue” version was initially unveiled during SiriusXM radio station’s Sound 42 in March. The song revolves around Drake’s fantasy relationship and features production by BNYX, Sad Pony and OVO’s longtime collaborator 40. It also features a sample from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” related to Kardashian’s divorce from Kanye West.

Ché Noir Gets Married—Planet Asia, Statik Selektah, Apollo Brown, Sa-Roc Show Love

Ché Noir is a married woman. On Saturday (June 10), the Buffalo native shared a photo of herself in a white wedding dress standing next to her groom. Planet Asia, Monie Love, Sa-Roc, Statik Selektah and Apollo Brown were among the many sending their well wishes to the couple.

And that was just the tip of the proverbial iceberg. Skyzoo, Elzhi, DJ Green Lantern, Lady London, Ransom, 38 Spesh and many others also slid through to applaud Ché Noir’s big news.

Ché Noir didn’t provide any additional details, but the next album will serve as the follow-up to 2020’s As God Intended, which was produced by Apollo Brown. The project, released through Mello Music Group, also boasted features by The Roots’ Black Thought, Skyzoo and Planet Asia.

This Cardi B Look Caused Instant Internet Mayhem

So, a recent Instagram post from Cardi B is causing quite the commotion. A pristine white swimsuit, flawlessly paired with strappy pink heels set off the avant-garde ensemble. However, it’s the questionable coif and suggestive poses which are coming under fire!

First off, the diamond-certified artist works diligently to garner public appeal. Although, her creative canon is challenging to Hip-Hop, it’s most definitely financially rewarding. Moreover, her work ethic and ability to champion both established and emerging talent helps solidify her relevancy.

Seemingly, part of being a starlet is looking like one. Of course, the “WAP” rapper is surgically-snatched to the gods. With this, she’s usually able to make any and everything appear wonderful. Well, that is most of the time.

Nevertheless, these suspicious strands are what’s most concerning to the public’s opinion. Here, the Bronx baddie makes stunning poses. In an array of images, she looks as if she may be offering up a purported sacrilegious subtext.

Most importantly, Bacardi is being challenged by her legion of fans. On social media, candid allegations are circulating. These range from bowing down as an Illuminati puppet and mocking The Carpenter on the cross to showing Satanic allegiance with the triple six hand-gesture—and let’s not forget—the simplicity of the “eff you” gesture.

So, did the internet get it right or are there too many conspiracy theorists with idol time on their hands? Thoughts…

Ariana DeBose Cried Over Backlash To Viral Rap Performance At BAFTAs

Ariana DeBose has confessed she cried “once” over the backlash to her divisive performance at the 2023 BAFTA Film Awards. While speaking to Marie Claire, the “West Side Story” star addressed the ridicule she endured online after her performance during the annual movie awards ceremony.

“I did cry once, but it was because I felt so bad that my grandmother was seeing the really horrible things that were being said that had actually nothing to do with the performance, that were just ripping me apart,” she explained. “That’s when I cried because my grandmother loves me, and she doesn’t want to read that. I have found that trying to act as if I don’t feel something is not helpful. Pretending it’s not happening, not helpful.”

At the awards show, DeBose performed an original song praising the women nominated for a BAFTA. Her lyrics included, “Angela Bassett did the thing, Viola Davis, my Woman King.”

The performance went viral on social media and spawned a number of memes and remixes.

“Yes, I performed at the BAFTAs,” she said. “Yes, the Internet had a moment about it. Yes, some things were said that I didn’t appreciate and that I found very hurtful. And yes, eventually, the tide turned on the Internet, and people found what I saw in it: the fun, the joy.”

She added, “But that doesn’t mean that along that little journey, I didn’t feel my feelings about having the Internet make fun of me for being me and doing what I love to do.”

The actress also revealed her original idea for the performance was “much simpler,” and she had planned to list a bunch of names like Madonna’s Vogue. However, the producers wanted something showier. Ariana DeBose is gearing up to host the Tony Awards for the second consecutive year in New York on Sunday (June 11).

Special Ed Calls Out Anyone Exploiting Hip-Hop 50: “Never Seen Y’all Nowhere”

With the official 50th anniversary of Hip-Hop inching closer, an ever-evolving list of companies are hopping on the bandwagon. While in theory it sounds like a positive development, Special Ed sees it differently. The “I Got It Made” MC—whose career stretches back to the 1980s—finds it interesting many of these people weren’t supporting the culture when it wasn’t “in.”

On Saturday (June 10), Special Ed shared his thoughts in an Instagram post, writing, “50th Anniversary of Hip Hop and EVERYBODY is using the words HIP HOP for their b#######. I been around over 30 years consistently and never seen y’all nowhere!!! Even actors are acting like they rap. Some used to rap. They quit. No they rap again. #bandwagon.”

Special Ed’s post garnered a cascade of responses from fellow Hip-Hop peers and fans alike. DJ Premier noted, “So out of control,” while Lord Finesse added, “Facts.” Members of Uncle Jamm’s Army and Al B. Sure! also added their two cents, making it clear Ed isn’t alone in his sentiments.

Hip-Hop’s official birthday is August 11, 1973. There are seemingly endless events happening this year to commemorate the occasion. Run-DMC, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne and Ice Cube are among the many performing at the Hip Hop 50 show at the Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on August 11. At 1520 Segdwick Avenue—where Kool Herc and sister Cindy Campbell threw their infamous Back To School Jam—KRS-One will host a special exhibit highlighting the birth of the culture. And that’s only the beginning.

LL COOL J is prepping another massive tour he dubbed The F.O.R.C.E. featuring a revolving lineup of legends, including Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Queen Latifah, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Common and Ice-T. The run kicks off on June 25 in Boston and wraps up September 3 at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles. Find more information here.

DJ Drama Allegedly Robbed In Toronto, Suspects Shout Out Drake As They Show Off Chain

Several alleged Toronto gang members claim to have robbed DJ Drama of his chain while he was visiting their city. In a video circulating online, the masked suspects hold up the bling and shout out “Drizzy” as they stupidly boast about their come-up. An accompanying photo shows DJ Drama wearing the same chain that was supposedly snatched by the thieves. DJ Drama has yet to address the claim publicly.

In the clip, one of the robbers says, “That’s what you f##king get for not checking in. Shout out boy Drizzy, eh. Triple Gs, you know how we rock.”

DJ Drama and Drake have long put their beef to rest. It started in 2015 when rumors circulated DJ Drama told Meek Mill that Drake used a ghostwriter for his guest verse on Meek Mill’s “R.I.C.O” track.

The incident pitted Drake and Meek Mill against each other. While they settled their differences publicly, it was never determined if the beef between Drake and DJ Drama was over.

But in 2022, DJ Drama and Drake appeared on a Jack Harlow project, leaving many fans confused. So, DJ Drama fired off a tweet that read: “We gotta stop this narrative lol. Me & Drake been put that to rest. Grown men s###, and beyond that Jack & Drake cultivated they own relationship. Now erybody go stream that ‘Churchill Downs’!”

Perhaps the robbers didn’t get the memo. Watch the clip up top.

Janelle Monáe Applies Prince’s Advice To Her Life

Janelle Monáe has revealed how she has applied advice from Prince to her own life.

The “Make Me Feel” singer joined Zane Lowe on his Apple Music 1 show on Friday to discuss her new album The Age of Pleasure.

During the interview, the 37-year-old admitted the “Purple Rain” singer’s advice to “cut everything down in half” has aided her own approach to life.

“That’s what Prince would say to his band,” she explained to the host. “He would be like, sometimes when people have jitters or nervous or whatever, they play too fast or they’re talking fast. He’s like, ‘Cut everything down in half.’ And I take that approach in life.”

Janelle continued, “Sometimes you have to say no. Sometimes you’ll miss out on opportunities that you think could have taken you to the next level. That fear, you got to deal with that. I have to realize being present for me is my north star.”

Janelle and Prince worked on music together before he passed away in April 2016 at the age of 57.

Elsewhere in the conversation, the “Glass Onion” actor divulged her thoughts on AI and the future of music, stating the industry will have to “figure out” how to integrate the technology because “it’s not going away.”

“We’re going to live in a world right now where you can’t differentiate The Beatles from The AI Beatles from the Beach Boys,” Janelle predicted. “If they put it out and you hear it and you’re like, oh, that’s really them.”

The Age of Pleasure, Janelle’s fourth studio album, was released on Friday.

Cops Rush To Nicki Minaj’s House Twice In Terrifying Swatting Incidents

Nicki Minaj and husband Kenneth Petty recently found themselves at the center of an unwelcome police investigation. Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department was alerted to allegations of child abuse at their home and an alleged house fire, according to TMZ.

Upon investigation, these claims were found to be baseless, and law enforcement sources attribute this to a “swatting” prank, a growing concern for authorities across the nation.

Swatting, a distressing prank call, involves tricking a large police response to a person’s home. This wasteful and dangerous act is becoming increasingly prevalent, even among celebrities such as Lil Wayne, who faced similar incidents. The couple’s home was targeted twice within 24 hours with false reports.

Petty and Minaj’s almost three-year-old son, affectionately known as “Papa Bear,” was the subject of the initial false abuse claim. In the second instance, an anonymous caller falsely reported a fire at the artist’s residence.

Law enforcement officials have confirmed both calls were fraudulent and reassured the public that no harm came to the family or their property.

The rapper is reportedly taking legal steps to ensure the individuals responsible for the swatting prank are held accountable, which could lead to potential criminal charges.

One of rap’s most popular toddlers, Papa Bear will celebrate his third birthday in September.

Meanwhile, Minaj continues to mark milestones in her career, having recently reached 159 million followers on Instagram and 22.9 million followers on Twitter. Nicki Minaj also recently announced her new album would arrive on October 20, 2023.

Lil Wayne Still Strives To Be The Best Rapper Alive

Lil Wayne remains motivated despite his elite status in Hip-Hop.

The New Orleans native mulled over his career in an interview with Rolling Stone. Lil Wayne confirmed he’s still driven to be the best rapper alive when asked if he continues to covet the title.

“Every single action, every single word, every single approach,” he said. “The reason why I’m still only listening and working on my own s### is because I’m in it. I believe once you start trying to listen to everybody else, you ain’t in it no more. You just happy to be here. But not me. I’m in a gym working on my own game. I don’t care how high you jumping. I don’t care how fast you run. You can’t even stand next to me with that s###.”

Lil Wayne insisted he’s “still that dude” when questioned about competing with new generations of rappers. He also admitted he’ll probably never retire from rap.

“When you work the way I work, it gets strenuous, and it might flash,” he said. “And even when you say [retire], I don’t think you actually mean stop working or doing music. You probably just mean you want to retire from everything else but the music. When you’re an artist — a real artist like myself, I was born this way. So, I don’t think that the real true artists and pioneers, they never retire. They died doing this.”

Lil Wayne mentioned he’s working on multiple songs per day. The Young Money founder revealed he had a drive of music dating back to 2010 and noted the number of unreleased tracks in his vault “isn’t even possible to fathom.”

Vincent Jewell, known professionally as “Fifty Vinc,” has emerged as a dynamic force in the world of music production. Hailing from Germany, Vincent’s remarkable journey from a background in breakdancing to becoming a multi-genre music producer and composer has propelled him to the forefront of the industry.

Vincent’s bilingual upbringing in Lüdinghausen, Germany, was marked by his father’s influence as a DJ in the vibrant clubs of his native New Jersey, USA. Exposed to the captivating sounds of Hip-Hop, Funk, and RnB, Vincent’s early experiences planted the seeds of his musical passion.

His educational path encountered challenges early on, leading Vincent to transfer from elementary school to a special institution catering to children with behavioral difficulties. Undeterred, he persevered, transitioning to a secondary school and ultimately a vocational college. In 2015, he celebrated a significant milestone as he proudly obtained his High School Diploma, underscoring his determination and tenacity.

After completing vocational training as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk between 2017 and 2020, Vincent embarked on an ambitious endeavor, establishing his own business as a composer and music producer. Fuelled by his previous hobby of breakdancing, he initially ventured into producing breakdance music during his formative years. However, his creative journey soon led him towards the genres of Hip-Hop and Rap.

Inspired by his biggest role model, the renowned composer Hans Zimmer, Vincent endeavored to merge epic orchestral sounds with contemporary Hip-Hop beats. This audacious fusion of musical elements became his signature style, captivating listeners with its grandiosity and innovation. Vincent’s evolution as a producer took a momentous turn when he delved into composing music for TV, film, and video games, allowing him to expand his artistic horizons further.

Notable entities such as ProSieben, RTL, ESPN, FOX, UFC, Battle Of The Year, MTV, BET Jams, SkySport, ATV, and even luxury automotive brand Mercedes Benz (Brabus) have embraced his musical works, cementing his position as a sought-after composer in the industry.

In his latest release, “Undefeated Champion,” Vincent exemplifies his distinctive sound. The track seamlessly merges epic orchestral elements with a lively hip-hop beat, delivering an immersive experience that showcases his unparalleled talent. This unique genre, dubbed “epic orchestral hip hop,” draws heavy influence from Fifty Vinc himself, underscoring his role as a trailblazer in pushing the boundaries of music production.

Big Daddy Kane Provides Update On His Doc Starring Eminem, J. Cole, Common & More

Big Daddy Kane has been enveloped in his upcoming Netflix documentary, Paragraphs I Manifest, for years now. In a recent interview with AllHipHop, the Hip-Hop pioneer provided an update on the film’s progress.

“We’re in the editing stages right now,” Big Daddy Kane says. “And hopefully, we’ll be finished within the next two months. That’s what I’m praying for, you know, because I really feel that it’s important to get this out as Hip-Hop is celebrating 50 years.”

Originally announced in 2021, the film boasts several high-profile interviews with everyone from Common and Eminem to J. Cole and MC Lyte. Despite Big Daddy Kane’s reputation as a premiere lyricist, he learned a lot from speaking to his fellow MCs.

“The most rewarding part of this experience is hearing different artists’ perspectives,” he says. “To sit with someone like Common, who I respect as a great lyricist and is someone with a unique flow other than the norm and representing a city other than New York, to hear his influences and his thought process, things of that nature. To hear Eminem talk about losing a rap battle. To hear him talking about what motivated him to write a song, who he listened to and studied, stuff like that.”

A post shared by Big Daddy Kane (@officialbigdaddykane)

Big Daddy Kane continues, “The biggest thing I learned was something Eminem said, because I never really thought about it. When I’m writing and I’m doing what I do, I’m just in my zone. I’m listening to him talk, but as I’m listening to him, I’m trying to think who did it before me, and I actually couldn’t come up with no one. I was just sitting there really blown away.

“When we left, I actually went listening to different artists that had songs out before me to see if anyone else did that in their writing style, and I didn’t find no one. I’m not saying that I’m the first, I’m just saying that so far I haven’t found anyone. It was crazy.”

J. Cole, who is 16 years Big Daddy Kane’s junior, really made an impression on the Brooklyn legend. As he explains, Cole is someone who clearly cares about the craft of writing.

“When you look at the era of the Melle Mel, Grandmaster Caz and Kool Moe Dee and then you see how it evolved and became Rakim and KRS-One, and then you see how it evolved again in the era of Nas, Biggie and JAY-Z, from a lyrical standpoint, you want to see it keep evolving,” he says. “But by the time the ’90s came around, Hip-Hop had become so commercial, that it was more important about having commercial songs and something more simplistic. A lot of the artists that came after that, their mindset wasn’t really on being lyrical, it was on writing catchy songs. That’s really where their mindset was.”

He continues, “So when you see people like J. Cole, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Kendrick Lamar and Lady London, I have a special respect for that because they’re true to lyricism.”

Man Risked His Life Paragliding Into Rick Ross’ Car Show

Fans know Rick Ross knows how to have a party, and some will apparently risk their lives to be a part of the action. One fan, Kris Jeter, actually crashed his recent car and bike show at his mansion by paragliding into the space, according to WSB-TV. He says he almost died doing what he thought was a bright idea.

“I was pretty lucky to make it make it to Rick Ross’ house,” Jeter said, adding he left his South Carolina house and drove all the way to about a mile from his house to activate the stunt. “It was honestly one of the scariest flights I’ve ever taken.

“As soon as I got turned around by the wind, I had to fight my way to turn back around. The winds were rushing fast.”

In fact, he tracked them in at around 25 miles an hour. Once he flew onto the property, he was told by security he couldn’t stop there. The unexpected guest, who was lucky he didn’t get shot, said, “They were just like well you can’t land here.”  But he did—or tried to—and got asked to move.

It wasn’t all a bust. Ross got a kick out of it and made a video talking about it. Jeter said of his 15 minutes of fame, “That was awesome. Yeah. I kind of felt like the highlight of the party.”

Daughter Of “Good Times” Actor John Amos Doubles Down On Elder Abuse Claims

John Amos, the beloved actor who starred in Good Times and movies such as Coming To America, is speaking out. On Friday (June 9), Amos’ daughter, Shannon Amos, claimed the 83-year-old was in a Memphis hospital fighting for his life and a victim of elder abuse. But John Amos purportedly refuted the notion, explaining he had no idea why Shannon would say these things and then start a GoFundMe with a $500,000 goal.

John Amos was in the hospital, his rep Belinda Foster told TMZ but is allegedly on his way to a full recovery. Foster explained his lower body was filling with fluid and causing issues with his heart, but doctors were able to drain it.

But Shannon Amos said her father’s home had been violated, stripped of anything valuable.” She also said the family is working with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and police to get justice. Shortly after John’s alleged response to the situation, Shannon uploaded a video to social media and challenged TMZ to get the story right.

“Half of the story broke, but there’s definitely another side to the story,” she says in the clip. “I see that a TMZ story and unfortunately it says I made this up, which is not true. So I would invite TMZ to do some accurate reporting and check with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations to see if there is, in fact, a real case because there is, and I am not crazy. Thank you TMZ for breaking the story, but I want you to report it accurately. All due respect to my father’s response, I understand that this is embarrassing and upsetting and probably not what you would’ve wanted me to do, but it is in his best interest.

“To the travel agent pretending to be a real publicist, Belinda Foster, really? You have no idea what is really going on. Because I don’t want to have any defamation of character or slander, I can’t name names yet, but do some homework. I invite y’all to do some homework…this is real. TMZ, if you’re watching, I’ve sent you my number and you are more than welcome to reach out to me for the real story. My reputation and my integrity is everything.”

Shannon concluded she wants the “perpetrators” to go to jail “this time.” She also asked to see Foster’s credentials and ensured everyone she has “all the receipts.”

In the original GoFundMe description, Shannon Amos made some serious allegations against a caregiver. The text read, “In November of last year, my dad and I created a video together—a cherished moment forever etched in my heart. Little did I know that our lives would soon take a devastating turn. On May 14th of this year, I received a distressing call from my dad, who was hospitalized far away in Memphis, Tennessee.

“Though I was out of the country, we managed a brief FaceTime conversation before his pain became too unbearable. Desperate, I reached out to a family friend, who flew to Memphis while I prepared to join them. What we found shattered our world: my dad fighting for his life in the ICU.”

She added, “During the following weeks, my family and I unraveled a horrifying truth—my dad had fallen victim to elder abuse and financial exploitation. Determined to seek justice, we a are working closely with the Colorado Bureau of Investigations and the local Sheriff’s Department in my father’s home state.”

Tyrese Goes Off On DJ Vlad, Brands Him Culture Vulture After Boosie Badazz Interview

Oh boy, it looks like Tyrese has had it with DJ Vlad and his VladTV. Tyrese took to Instagram in a now-deleted post to express his frustration after Boosie Badazz labeled him as “the most hurt person on Instagram” during an interview on the controversial platform. And let me tell you, Tyrese didn’t hold back.

He shared some receipts of Vlad actually offering him $10,000 for an interview. Now this is very shocking because it shows the underbelly of stuff that has been rumored for a long time. But, Black Ty posted DMs of the offer. The actor said, “Your a## is hurting because even after you offered me 10k, I turned down your corny a## culture vulture show…??????? Haven’t you used BLACK PEOPLE ENOUGH???” YIKES.

But Tyrese wasn’t done yet. He went on to question Vlad’s motives and requested the financials on how much he was making off BLACK CULTURE. YO, “He said ‘Culture Vulture Die Slow.”

Tyrese has gone through a lot and seems to suffer from divorce trauma. That’s hard. So far, Vlad hasn’t responded to Tyrese. But Tyrese joins a chorus of people such as Joe Budden, NLE Choppa, Top Dawg’s Punch, Royce Da 5’9 and the whole Nation of Islam. Will Vlad respond to Tyrese’s rant? We’ll see. By the way, Boosie has a very different view of DJ Vlad. Check out the other side of things in this interview.
