Kanye Accused Of Stiffing “Sunday Service” Production Company Out Of $7 Million

Kanye West’s legal troubles continue to mount as lawsuits pile up on the billionaire rap star.

The rapper is being sued for almost $7 million over claims he never paid the bill to a production company called Phantom Labs.

The production company says they helped Kanye with several of his most high-profile events from June 2021 until March 2022, but they were never paid.

Phantom Labs said they helped Kanye with several of his Sunday Service events, his Donda 2 listening party, and his “Free Larry Hoover” concert with Drake and J. Prince.

The company also helped Kanye put together his performance for Coachella. However, the rapper canceled his performance at the last minute.

The Coachella cancellation is key to the lawsuit. Phantom Labs says Kanye was going to get $9 million for his concert and planned to settle his debt.

But he backed out of the concert, and the company never saw a dime. To make things worse, Phantom Labs had to fork over almost $1.1 million and cancellation fees after the Coachella fiasco.

Kanye’s lawyers will have a busy year ahead of them. In addition to Phantom Labs’s $7.1 million lawsuit against the rapper, he is also facing lawsuits from several other companies.

Last week, a fashion rental business claimed Kanye stiffed them out of merchandise he rented and owed over $400,000 in back payments and penalties.

The rapper is also being sued by a house musician named Marshall Jefferson, who claims Ye sampled his1986 house track “Move Your Body” on “Flowers” without getting permission or providing compensation.

The Chicago-bred rap star turned designer is being taken to court by a pastor who says he sampled one of his sermons on “Come To Life” without his permission.

Kanye is also fighting the State of California for illegally delaying product shipments of his Yeezy products.

Megan Thee Stallion Named As One Of Hillary Clinton’s ‘Heroes’

Former U.S. Secretary of State and First Lady Hillary Clinton and her daughter Chelsea consider Megan thee Stallion a “personal hero.” 

The duo plan to feature Megan on an episode of their new Apple TV+ show entitled “Gutsy,” based on her 2019 best-selling book, “The Book of Gutsy Women.”

The show is set up to be an eight-part docuseries and will feature guests like reality star Kim Kardashian, comedian Amy Schumer, feminist activist Gloria Steinem, comedian Wanda Sykes, and actors Goldie Hawn and her daughter Kate Hudson, and Jane Goodall, a conservationist.

The Grammy-winning artist seems to be in good company.

Apple TV describes the show, which premieres on September 9th, as “a thought-provoking journey to speak with pioneering women artists, activists, community leaders, and everyday heroes who show us that it truly means to be gutsy.”

There are many reasons why Megan thee Stallion might be included with this group of highly esteemed women.

For one, she is highly decorated with numerous BET Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, American Music Awards, Billboard Awards, Grammys, MTV Video Music Awards, and many more.

Megan thee Stallion also made history in the Guinness World Records for being the first female artist to win the Best Rap Performance and the Best Rap Song at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

The rapper accomplished all this while she was involved in a public assault that ended up with her getting shot, allegedly by her then pal, Tory Lanez. 

Meg’s charity work has distinguished her among many, but what really makes her gutsy is doing all this while mourning her parents’ death. 

Her father died when she was a child, and her mother passed away shortly after her career started to take off.

Boosie Goes Nuts On Cop Over Weed Arrest

Rapper Boosie Bada$$ was pulled over and briefly detained by Georgia law enforcement for having darkly tinted windows and concealed tags but was let go within minutes with a small cannabis charge and a citation.

According to TMZ, on Wednesday, July 13th, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper was playing shotgun in a black Cadillac SUV. In the driver’s seat was De’Shun Lawrence, 19, one of his associates.

When the two were pulled over, officers said they could smell weed.

They asked Boosie and Lawrence to step out and cuffed them. While both were in handcuffs and standing away from the car on the side, the cops started to search the vehicle.

During the search, Boosie ranted, letting everyone know he was ready to go to jail if need be. He mentioned he felt he and his associate were profiled for having a nice car.

The artist has a right to be suspicious of the law, having spent years in prison for a murder, which he was acquitted of committing. 

Boosie declared that if he were to go to jail, he would a) swing on the first inmate he saw and b) spit on the first female nurse.

The officers returned, stating they found two weed bags in the car.

Lawrence said it was his, and he and Boosie were set free. Boosie promised to call his lawyers and file harassment charges.

MAGA Maniac Donald Trump Supporter Faked Arson, Blamed It On Black Lives Matter, And Got Busted

Two Minnesota Trump-loving MAGA maniacs have been busted for lying about their Brooklyn Center home being set on fire by Joe Biden supporters and Black Lives Matter protestors in 2020.

At the time, Denis Molla told the media,” I think things have gotten way out of control. For them to see me express my beliefs as a Republican, it’s crazy to think it came down to this,” Courthouse News reports. 

The couple insisted their outward support of the former president made them targets.

After reporting the alleged hate crime, they started a GoFundMe, which received $17,000, and filed an insurance claim which delivered them another $61,000.

Molla had filed for at least $300,000 worth of insurance claims, which for the most part, were denied and considered fraudulent after an investigation by the Brooklyn Center Police Department and the FBI submitted a report.

On Tuesday, July 11th, U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger said it was all a lie and that Denis Molla and his wife Deana Molla had conspired to fake the crime to push the narrative that Republicans were being attacked.

“Molla submitted multiple insurance claims seeking coverage for the damage to his garage, camper, vehicles, and residence caused by the fire,” wrote Luger’s office in a statement Tuesday.

“When Molla’s insurance company denied some of those claims, Molla submitted written complaints to the insurance company claiming that it was defrauding him and threatened to report the company to the Department of Commerce and to the Attorney General,” the statement continued. “Molla also created and allowed others to create two GoFundMe accounts to benefit Molla and his family.”

Chief U.S. District Judge John Tunheim of the District of Minnesota issued a bench warrant for Denis Molla’s arrest on Thursday, July 7th. 

Only Denis was arrested and indicted. He was able to post bond and will be going before the just soon.

Lizzo Explains Why Releasing “Rumors” With Cardi B Was Selfish

Lizzo is riding high right now because her single “About Damn Time” rose to #2 on Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart. Last year, the songstress scored another Top 5 hit with “Rumors” featuring Cardi B.

“Rumors” became Lizzo’s highest-charting debut on the Hot 100. The all-female collaboration peaked at #4. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the song as Gold in November 2021.

As for “About Damn Time,” the song will live on Lizzo’s upcoming fourth album titled Special. That 12-track project will drop this Friday, July 15 via Nice Life Recording Company/Atlantic Records.

Lizzo recently joined Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1 to discuss her Special studio LP. The conversation included the 3-time Grammy winner reflecting on teaming up with fellow female rapper Cardi B for “Rumors.”

Lizzo Wanted A Song With Cardi B For A Long Time

“‘Rumors’ featuring Cardi B, that was my f### you. And I was so excited and proud to put that song out because I needed to do that,” said Lizzo. “I honestly needed it. It was very selfish. I very selfishly wanted a song with Cardi for a long time, and I very selfishly wanted to be like, ‘B####, all the rumors are true, whatever you want to believe about me, and f### you too.'”

She added, “And I did that. And once I actually put that song out, I got a lot off my chest, energetically. And I feel a lot of the songs on Special kind of came through after that. I wrote Special, actually, after I released ‘Rumors’ and started getting a lot of like being brought back into the cultural zeitgeist and after becoming famous and having the year that I had, it was interesting seeing how people relate to me and treat me and talk to me.”

Special will join a Lizzo album discography that contains Lizzobangers, Big Grrrl Small World, and Cuz I Love You. The latter LP helped break the Detroit-born vocalist into the mainstream. The Platinum-certified Cuz I Love You earned Album Of The Year nominations at the Grammy Awards, Soul Train Music Awards, BET Awards, and BET Hip Hop Awards.

Daniel Kaluuya Won’t Be Back For ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’

Moviegoers will not get to see Daniel Kaluuya reprise his role as W’Kabi in the first Black Panther sequel.

Deadline reports Kaluuya had to pull out of the movie due to scheduling conflicts with the upcoming film Nope. The W’Kabi character is the head of security for the Border Tribe in the fictional country of Wakanda.

There have been several setbacks with the highly-anticipated superhero motion picture now titled Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Most notably, Black Panther lead actor Chadwick Boseman passed away from colon cancer in 2020.

In addition, Letitia Wright faced backlash for her stance on the COVID-19 vaccine which led to some fans calling for her removal from the cast. Wright remained in the movie, but filmmakers had to suspend the production after the British actress suffered a serious injury on set.

The COVID-19 pandemic had a huge impact on the filming of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The Disney Studios-produced movie halted production earlier this year after several cast and crew members tested positive for coronavirus.

While Daniel Kaluuya will not be in Black Panther 2, the Marvel Cinematic Universe feature will reportedly include Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Martin Freeman. Ryan Coogler returns as the co-writer and director.

Academy Award winner Daniel Kaluuya (Judas and the Black Messiah) will next appear in director Jordan Peele’s Nope which will hit North American theaters on July 22. Keke Palmer and Steven Yeun also have prominent roles in the forthcoming science fiction horror.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled for release on November 11. The first movie became a cultural phenomenon that broke several box office records in 2018. Black Panther brought in a worldwide total of $1.3 billion. It also garnered seven Academy Award nominations, including a nod for Best Picture.

Latto Claps Back At Critics Claiming She’s Trying To Profit Off ‘Roe v. Wade’ Being Overturned

The United States Supreme Court rocked the nation when six of the nine justices recently ruled abortion was no longer a constitutional right. Atlanta rapper Latto is one of the millions of women that found the ruling deplorable.

In the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, the Supreme Court officially reversed Roe v. Wade from 1973. Conservative justices Samuel Alito, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and John Roberts voted to allow individual states to determine abortion rights for the citizens of that state.

On Wednesday evening, Latto posted a 22-second snippet for her upcoming “P####” single to Twitter. The RCA recording artist used footage of crowds protesting the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade in the clip.

Some people on Twitter took issue with Latto for associating a serious political issue with the promotion of a new track. The BET Award’s Best New Artist winner fired back at her online critics.

“Using serious issues to promote your song is wild…,” wrote one Twitter commenter. Latto responded, “Orrrr I took my frustrations to the booth like a RAPPER & using my platform to spread awareness.”

The 23-year-old “Big Energy” hitmaker also told another Twitter user, “I literally spoke on [the issue of abortion] briefly in my BET acceptance speech but go awf 😉.” Latto’s teary-eyed address at the award show in June included her telling the audience, “It’s never giving a man policing my body.”

Latto Says She’s Donating Proceeds From Her “P####” Single

Following more backlash on Twitter, Latto continued to defend her “P####” promotional video. Apparently, some of the profits from the forthcoming record will go to help pro-choice organizations and/or actions.

“I actually am donating proceeds,” explained the former Miss Mulatto. “Yall be the same ones saying, ‘Why u gotta post everything’ if I do & assume I’m not doing it if I don’t post it. lol. However, I AM using my power (platform) to make a change regardless. Shut yo fake woke ass up, what are YOU doing???”

She concluded her commentary on the abortion subject by tweeting, “Y’all complain about female rap lacking substance but then say I’m ‘capitalizing’ when I speak on s###. 🧐🧐🤨🤨🤨 Help me understand???”

Doja Cat Loses 200K Instagram Followers After Calling Out ‘Stranger Things’ Star Noah Schnapp

It appears some Stranger Things fans are unhappy with Doja Cat. The “Say So” perfomer’s decision to blast an actor from the Netflix show apparently did not sit well with some of her Instagram followers.

Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers on Stranger Things, upset Doja Cat last week. The 17-year-old entertainer posted private direct messages from Doja to his public TikTok account.

In the DMs, Doja Cat asked Noah Schnapp to connect her with his Stranger Things co-star Joseph Quinn for a possible romantic relationship. Doja later slammed Schnapp during an Instagram Live session.

“First, let’s try to be chill about it. To be fair, this is like a kid. I don’t even know how old he is, but he’s not even over… like there’s no way he’s over 21,” said Doja Cat. “But when you’re that young, you make mistakes. You do dumb s###.”

“But the fact that Noah did that, like went and posted a private conversation between me and him, is so unbelievably like socially unaware and wack. That’s like borderline snake s###. That’s like weasel s###,” added the 26-year-old musician.

Doja Cat’s decision to berate Noah Schnapp seemingly backfired with some IG users. According to reports the Planet Her album creator lost around 200,000 followers on Instagram following the spat with Schnapp. As of press time, Doja’s Instagram follower count sits at 24.1 million.

In contrast, Noah Schnapp purportedly picked up an additional 1 million Instagram followers since Doja Cat called him out online. The Screen Actors Guild Award winner now has 25.5 million followers. He had close to 24.2 million followers before the dispute.

Bow Wow Reacts To Orlando Brown Saying he Has “Bomb Ass P*ssy”

Orlando Brown was back in the news this week. The That’s So Raven actor shared some shocking words about former child rapper Shad “Bow Wow” Moss.

In a video for the Funny Marco YouTube channel, Orlando Brown spoke about BET’s classic video show 106 & Park. Moss served as a host of the program beginning in 2012.

“The last it was hot. When Lil Bow Wow was on there,” answered Brown after being asked when he last watched 106 & Park. “I ain’t gotta problem with Lil Bow Wow. Lil Bow Wow got some bomb ass p####.”

Bow Wow got wind of what Orlando Brown had to say about him, and social media users wanted to know his reaction. The Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta reality show star reportedly addressed Brown in now-deleted tweets.

DJ Tim Westwood Accused Sexually Assaulting 14-Year-Old Girl In 1990

Tim Westwood is facing new sexual abuse and misconduct allegations after news surfaced in April that at least seven women had made accusations against the famed BBC DJ.  

He is accused of opportunistic and predatory sexual behavior, using his position as one of the best-known names in the U.K. Hip-Hop industry to target vulnerable young women. 

The Guardian reports a total of 10 Black women made allegations against the DJ since the initial investigation was made public in April. Aside from two friends, none of the other women have ever met, and all but one asked to remain anonymous.  

Four of these women say they were under 18 when the incidents they allege happened. A further six women claim they were young adults at the time. 

One of the DJ’s alleged victims claimed she met him at a club in 1990 when she was just 14 years old. “[Tim Westwood] would always see us. He’d let us in for free,” said Esther, a pseudonym. “Sometimes he’d come and check on us: ‘Ah are you guys enjoying yourselves?’ And that’s how it started.” She claims she told him her age, but it did not deter him from pursuing her.  

“I never gave consent [to sex], but I never said no either so, I just went along with it,” she said. “I kind of thought it was normal but that’s because I didn’t understand the gravity of the situation. It wasn’t a relationship and it wasn’t about love, it was just a thing, and a thing you couldn’t discuss with anybody.”   

She broke things after two years when she was sixteen. Though she later felt Tim Westwood was grooming her, she feared she would face blame for the alleged assaults.  

Tim Westwood Denies The Allegations

The DJ strenuously denied the allegations of the seven Black women featured in the original investigation by the BBC and The Guardian in April. 

Another woman claims Tim Westwood started a sexual relationship with her in 1997 when she was 16. Two others allege he sexually assaulted them when they were in their mid-teens. A further woman claimed the DJ forced his penis into her mouth as she resisted. The alleged incident occured in 2012 when she was 20 years old.   

Lauren London Explains How Diddy Helped Her Get Through Nipsey Hussle’s Funeral

Lauren London has opened up about her life after the death of her longtime partner Nipsey Hussle in March 2019. 

The actress chose the debut episode of Angie Martinez’s new In Real Life podcast to give a rare interview discussing how her relationship with Nip changed her views on the concept of death. Lauren London also reflected on Nipsey’s funeral and recalled how a pep talk from Diddy helped her deliver her moving speech.  

“I just felt like it was surreal,” she explained, referring to the funeral, before adding, “I can honestly say God was carrying me through that cause I didn’t even want to get dressed. I was going to wear sweats.” 

Lauren London continued, “Somebody pulled me aside. Puff, Puff pulled me aside and was like, ‘Look, Boog, you have showed everybody what it looks like to hold a man down and to love him. Now show them what it looks like when it all crumbles. That’s your responsibility.’”  

Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed outside of his Marathon clothing store in Los Angeles and died on March 31, 2019. Last week, Eric Holder Jr. was found guilty of his murder after two days of jury deliberations. 

The court heard evidence he shot the rapper 11 times with two different guns in a premeditated attack before making a getaway.  

Lauren London On Living In L.A. After Nipsey Hussle’s Murder 

Lauren London admitted she finds it “heavy” living in L.A. with the reminders of her late partner all around her. When asked how she copes with seeing Nip’s face in murals all over L.A. she revealed it’s a struggle. “I want to move all the time,” she said. “I just know it’s not the right time for my family.” 

She added: “I love L.A. It’s tattooed on me. To the death of me, I love L.A., but it’s too heavy for me right now.” Watch the episode below.  

Jay-Z Says He Has No Plans To Retire From Rap: “Who Am I To Shut It Off?”

Jay-Z opened up about retirement during a rare interview with Kevin Hart or an episode in the second season of his Hart to Heart series. 

The teaser clip shared on Wednesday (Jul. 14) shows the Roc Nation boss reflecting on his three-year hiatus following 2003’s The Black Album. He admitted he was “burnt out” and needed to take time out to rest.  

“Nah, I tried [retirement]. I’m terrible at that” Jay-Z said, referring to the 2003 break. Hov explained he “just needed a break … I was really burnt out at that time,” He said, adding, “I was releasing an album every year … I just looked up one day and I was like, ‘I’m tired.’ I’d never been on vacation until, say, 2000, my whole life.” 

Though Hov has no plans to quit the rap game, he’s not actively working on new music but is open to exploring other avenues to express his “gift.” 

“I don’t know what happens next,” Jay-Z added. “I’m not actively making music or making an album or have plans to make an album, but I never want to say that I’m retired. It’s a gift, and who am I to shut it off? It’s open to whatever. And it may have a different form or interpretation. Maybe it’s not an album, maybe it is.  Though Jay-Z does supply his fans with a few feature verses every year, he hasn’t released an LP in 5 years. His last album 4:44 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, his 14th album to top the chart.

Ashanti Laughs Off Idea She’s Taking Part in Irv Gotti’s ‘Murder Inc.’ Docuseries

Ashanti is proving that she’s still at the top of her game more than 20 years after dropping her self-titled debut album, which she is currently re-recording, performing at international festivals, and expanding her business ventures with a new children’s book. 

However, there is one upcoming project Ashanti has no interest in involving herself with, Irv Gotti’s upcoming “Murder Inc.” docuseries. TMZ asked the R&B songstress if she had any plans to appear in the project, which both she and her momager Tina Douglas found amusing. “No,” she said before turning to laugh loudly with her mother.  Watch the clip below.

He recently revealed his plans for the tell-all docuseries set to air on BET next month. He took to Instagram to share the trailer, which heavily features Ashanti throughout.

Last year Irv Gotti called Ashanti out over her plans to re-record her self-titled debut album. He said it was “f##### up,” and claimed she’s trying to screw him out of his masters. The singer revealed the rift left Ja Rule “in a weird position,” and was something they had to confront.  

“It’s crazy,” Ashanti explained during an interview with The Breakfast Club. “And he was just like, ‘Look, you my sister, I love you. That’s my brother, I love him. I don’t wanna be a part of it!’ You know what I mean? He’s just like, ‘I’m out.’ But he also knows what’s right, you know?”

Drake dropped another major bombshell on Wednesday (Jul. 13), less than a month after releasing his surprise album, “Honestly, Nevermind,” with only a few hours’ notice. He announced his plans for the three-day October World Weekend, set to kick off on Jul. 28 featuring many of his close collaborators. 

He took to Instagram to share the official lineup for the event which is being marketed as the “Road to OVO Fest Tour,” ahead of the festival’s 10th anniversary later this year. Chris Brown, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj will all perform with Drizzy promising a highly anticipated Young Money Reunion. Drake also shared further details about his plans in the caption.  

“OCTOBER WORLD WEEKEND 🌏 I am currently working on bringing OVO FEST around the world in 2023 for the 10th Anniversary,” explained Drake. “But of course we wanted to turn the city up for the summer!!! More event announcements to come 🌪 Tickets on sale Friday on @ticketmaster.”

Drake first teased he had a big announcement coming for his hometown of Toronto during a live stream with online gambling site Stake. “Big announcement coming Wednesday for the city,” the “Jimmy Cooks” rapper said. “Appreciate everyone listening to the new album, embracing something that I wanted to do for a long time. I appreciate all the love.” 

While Drake has received a mixed reception for his latest house music-influenced album, he’s already on to the next project. Furthermore, Drizzy promises he’s currently in “scary” mode and “in a different bag,” suggesting he’s working on yet another surprise for his fans.  

Drake explained, “Means a lot to me that it’s been this many years, people still tuning in. Being open, showing a lot of love to different s###. I’m back going crazy though. I’m just letting you know right now, I’m in a different bag right now. I promise you. Scary.” Check out the clip below.
