Atlantic recording artist Jack Harlow still has the #1 song in America. The Kentucky native’s “First Class” held onto the top spot of the Hot 100 for a third non-consecutive week.
According to Billboard, “First Class” pulled in 25.2 million streams over the last week. The 19% dip in streaming numbers caused the track to fall from #2 to #6 on the Streaming Songs chart.
However, Jack Harlow’s “First Class” remains atop Billboard‘s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and Hot Rap Songs rankings. The Come Home the Kids Miss You single has spent five weeks at the pinnacle of those charts, respectively.
Lamar’s “Die Hard” with Blxst and Amanda Reifer launched at #5. “Silent Hill” with Kodak Black (#7) and “United in Grief” (#8) also bowed in the Hot 100’s Top 10 this week.

Besides landing in the Top 5, “N95” also earned the honor of being the most-streamed song over the tracking period. The record collected 37.2 million streams since its release on May 13.
Kendrick Lamar now has twelve career Top 10 songs. His total Hot 100 count rose to sixty-nine. The pgLang co-founder presently has two Number Ones on the Hot 100 (Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” in 2015, “Humble” in 2017).
AJ Tracey believes U.K. rappers will gain proper recognition in America once Hip-Hop heads are in tune with the accent.
“l want the rap purists to take me in and listen to the lyrics,” he said during a recent interview with On The Radar Radio. He added that he feels a lot of potential fans are sleeping on U.K. rappers because they are put off by the accent. “I feel like some people sleep, like U.K. rappers are actually saying stuff. Obviously not all of them, but a lot of us are actually rapping. But because of the accent some people are like ‘why would I listen to that?’”
When asked if he thinks that’s a big obstacle for U.K. rappers to overcome, AJ Tracey replied, “I think that’s the only hurdle.”
However, AJ Tracey believes the barriers are finally coming down and noted the similarities between cities on opposite sides of the pond.
“London and New York are very similar. Like the attitudes, you know I’m saying? Like the culture, the way we live our lives, the things that we jack and don’t jack … so I feel like the only hurdle was the accent.”
He also pointed to the success of other English-speaking artists who have become some of the biggest musicians worldwide. Once upon a time, I remember Canadian music, the accent wasn’t really accepted. Now, a lot of the biggest artists in every genre are Canadian, like Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Drake, etc. So, obviously it’s going to come eventually.”
AJ Tracey had a chance meeting with Drake earlier on in his career that helped shape him as an artist. He also had high praise for Pop Smoke whom he met before his passing in February 2020.
AJ Tracey Says Pop Smoke Was “The One”
After discussing the impact U.K. drill producers and rappers have had on the U.S. scene, AJ Tracey responded, “Rest in peace Pop Smoke. It’s a shame bro we miss him, that was a massive talent and I feel like he was really about to permanently bridge the gap.”
He added that Pop Smoke was “the one” and recalled meeting the Brooklyn drill artist before his passing. “He came over to London, he was showing everyone mad love, he was on tour with Skepta. He was linking all the man dem and he was very authentic. When I spoke to bro, he was super authentic. He knew about some of my tracks that aren’t that big, he just done his research before he met me. He was a cool guy, rest in peace.”
He also dropped off a freestyle on the platform – check it out below.

Rick Ross Sought Ownership From The Outset
While he was initially only concerned with obtaining a record deal after dropping his first album, Rick Ross “began renegotiating” his contract. “Before I even made it to my last albums, I had damn near owned everything that I could own, other than a certain distribution percentage. Once you become successful — regardless of what you signed at first — you just come sit at the table like a man.”
He continued, “And guess what, I did it every album. I asked for more, and I did it on both sides — not just with my record label but also with my attorneys. ‘Hey man, I was giving you give X amount of percentage on my first album, lets cut it down to 12. On the next let’s cut it to 8. Let’s get it to 5.’ That go for everybody. You renegotiate because you learning as you go. Before every album, that’s what you go sit down and say, ‘Hey man, I gotta ask for something I ain’t never had. I’m finna do something I ain’t never done before.’”
However, Rick Ross is in no hurry to sign a new deal, despite having a plethora of offers on the table. Although he said, “there really ain’t no rush,” he confirmed he is putting out new music this year. According to Rozay, he has two records and an official album announcement coming later this summer.

While Travis Scott is back in the studio, apparently working on new music after debuting a fresh single during his performance at the Billboard Awards last week, his legal issues continue to mount.
According to Rolling Stone, Travis Scott is being sued for allegedly causing a stampede at Rolling Loud Miami in 2019. The outlet reports Marchelle Love filed an amended complaint on May 10 on behalf of herself and a minor child and guardian identified as U.M., in which she claims cops instructed Travis Scott to end the show soon after it began “due to the crowd becoming dangerous and uncontrollable.”
She further alleges that though Travis stopped performing, he continued to encourage the crowd by “verbally and physically incite the crowd to engage in a mosh pit and other hazardous activities.”
The complaint states this led to panic in the crowd, and “multiple stampedes” continued. “Despite the fact that Travis Scott was aware of and could clearly see concertgoers being injured, suffocating, losing consciousness, fighting and being trampled, he continued his performance while authorities were forced to attempt to render aid to these injured concertgoers.”
Travis Scott Responds
However, a representative for Travis Scott states the complaint is “completely unrelated” to the rapper. “This is another blatant, cynical attempt to attack Travis,” the rep told Rolling Stone. “As even the complaint makes clear, this incident was related to a false report of a shooting mid-show, completely unrelated to Travis’s performance… This cheap opportunism is based on a blatant lie that’s easy to detect.”
Love’s complaint notes she suffered unspecified “severe injuries” that are “permanent in nature,” including, “bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care treatment, loss of earnings, loss of ability to earn money, and aggravation of a previously existing condition.”
She is seeking a jury trial and damages exceeding the jurisdictional amount of $30,000. She claims Travis Scott should have known his actions would “result in foreseeable injury.”
Joe appeared on a recent episode of Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinionpodcast, where the topic came up. According to the “Lean Back” rapper, Tekashi is miserable and must have a death wish.
“This show gonna get me in trouble,” Fat Joe began. “I’m gonna just be honest with you — this n####’s a sucka. He’s a p####, a sucka, a b####. I’m dead sober. This dude here. This type of s### this n#### doing, I’m convinced he wants to die — and I don’t wish it on him or nothing like that — but I’m convinced he’s miserable in his body. He can’t look in the mirror.”
Fat Joe then referenced Tekashi 6ix9ine snitching on the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods for a lesser sentence.
“Now the man snitched. Cool. Do you, whatever. I don’t like the taunting. I don’t know if he really did it,” Joe said, before adding, “I didn’t know what was going on. The crazy s### is when I talked to him in that interview, I talked to him off the air and he lied to me and told me, ‘Yo this is just an image. I’m frontin.’ He told me that in front of [former manager and Nine Trey Gangsta Blood] Shotti and them n#####. They was standing right there with him. ‘Yo Joe, I’m not really doing this. I’m not a gangster. This is all for promotion,’” he added. Check it out below.
Tekashi Says ““Fat Joe Is Miserable”
Meanwhile, Tekashi 6ix9ine caught wind of the comments and responded, claiming Joe is envious of him and is promoting “fake news.”
“Fat Joe is jealous of 69,” the rainbow-haired rapper told TMZ. “69 has done more in his young career than Fat Joe has ever done in his long career. Fat Joe said I was miserable and want to die?” Tekashi 6ix9ine questioned. He added the bronx rapper is “miserable” and “wants to die” because he “doesn’t have half of what 69 has in money and cars.”
He concluded. “Fat Joe said I’m not a gangster, it was all for promotion? That’s fake news. What’s his proof that I ever said that? There is no proof. He’s lying.”
Walmart has offered an apology for manufacturing ice cream commemorating and profiting off of the looming Juneteenth celebration.
Recently social media went into a frenzy after images of the product surfaced on various platforms. The ice cream also was made of red velvet and cheesecake flavors, further infuriating people for the stereotypical overtones. Moreover, the label said, “Share and celebrate African-American culture, emancipation and enduring hope,” the label read.
Fox obtained a statement that had Walmart offering their apologies.
“Juneteenth holiday marks a celebration of freedom and independence. However, we received feedback that a few items caused concern for some of our customers and we sincerely apologize. We are reviewing our assortment and will remove items as appropriate,” the company said in a statement to FOX.
They are placing certain items under review and removing them as necessary, in the statement.
Other flavors are also for sale such as Pride ice cream, which has not gotten any significant backlash from the LGBTQ community.

The LGBTQ+ crew hates Dave Chappelle. At least that is the impression I get. Now, Dave says otherwise. His people say otherwise. And then you get this dude running up on the stage and attacks Hip-Hop’s favorite comedian. So, they may not all hate him, but come have certainly been radicalized based on the controversy.
But, here’s the thing. Every thing and EVERYTHING. So, this dude Isaiah Lee decides to give his reasoning on why he attacked our boy. He claims that Dave’s show, that he paid for, was “triggering.” The victim role?
Anyway, he decides to take it there.
In a jailhouse interview with the New York Post, Lee tried to explain his unprovoked attack on the comedian May 3 at the Hollywood Bowl.
“I identify as bisexual … and I wanted him to know what he said was triggering. I wanted him to know that next time, he should consider first running his material by people it could affect.” 😡
Boy, if you don’t go head with that.
He also said the he has been homeless and has a kid to think of.
“It’s a struggle and I wanted Dave Chappelle to know it’s not a joke.” OK.
Anyway, Dave said ol’ boy told him that he wanted to raise awareness about his grandma’s plight. More lies, IMO.
This dude is only 23 so this is proof we don’t all need to have kids.
Gunna and Young Thug are in some serious trouble. The RICO. So “trouble” is an understatement. And the bad trouble only gets worse. Recently they both have been denied bondi are still going to remain incarcerated until they go to trial. That’s sucks to be them, because they’re both wealthy rap artists. But the state government says they are participants in a criminal enterprise.
Nevertheless, it’s somewhat unprecedented that they wouldn’t even be able to get out on bond for any sum of money. Usually those government agencies get the dough, with the understanding that they will convict anyway.
The authorities noted one thing as the reason for them keeping both Gunna and Thug in jail. And that is the safety of the witnesses. No when I thought the safety of witnesses, my instinct said somebody’s snitching. You know, the good old fashioned “cooperating witnesses.” But that’s not the type of witness that they are talking about. They’re actually talking about actual witnesses.
Now, other a recent report said that both Thug and Gunna walked around the streets with snipers having their back. So, if they were in any sort of danger, there was somebody from afar that would take out anybody that threaten their safety. Now, I find that to be CA-RAZY! Do. you believe any of this? It really sounds like something stranger than fiction You think the authorities have this vivid of an imagination?
I’ve been around numerous rappers and they had people with hammers on them, but nobody that had a sniper watching their back. It certainly feeds into the narrative that they were on a crime spree or at least needed that type of protection. It is kind of crazy when you think about it right?
That’s definitely next level.
Anyway, I know that there’s gonna be some serious snitching going on with all of those guys that they swept up. Now, the question is who?
Hip-Hop knows a bit about snipers. What sniper yall rolling with? Will Smith or Tupac?
Rapper Lupe Fiasco will be going to an ivy league college…just not the way you might think.
Despite having a lyrically scientific mind, he is not enrolling in the class. He will be going to one of the top schools in the country to teach.
According to the school’s website, the Chicago rapper will be teaching at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a member of the school’s 2022-23 MLK Visiting Professors and Scholars.
He took to social media to confirm the announcement, with the caption: “Just finna say it… I’ll be teaching Rap at MIT.”
The emcee will be teaching Hip-Hop and expanding on the work he did in 2020-2021 as a Visiting Artist at the MIT Center for Art, Science & Technology (CAST Program) when he worked with Professor of Digital Media Nick Montfort to engage the MIT community at the intersection of rap, computing, and activism.
In the CAST program, the website says, “he shared insights from his work as an entrepreneur and community advocate, for instance, working with the Society of Spoken Art (SOSA), an educational guild for aspiring and established rappers, of which he is a co-founder.”
Montfort and Fiasco also worked together on the lead “Code Cypher,” a programming competition in the fall of 2021 that focused on language and rhythm — engaging teams of MIT students in a one-day creative coding event.
