To steal a phrase from the app, 20-year-old David Revuelta has become ‘That Kid from Tik Tok’ by racking up thousands of followers in a few short months. His sleek physique and messy hair might lure fans in, but they stay for the music.David Revuelta isn’t just a Tik Tok star. This budding Spanish social media influencer has smashed expectations across every outlet for social accounts. On Instagram, he has amassed thousands of followers. On Facebook, it is a similar story. Revuelta seems to be doing exceptionally well without even getting to the music yet.
Who is David Revuelta?
Aside from being that kid from Tik Tok, David has been creating music in his bedroom since he was young. Now, aged only 20, he has started releasing those tunes to the world. You can find many of his lyrical masterpieces over on Spotify, where he has 12k+ monthly listeners and growing. His sounds are fresh, unique, and don’t contain a single thing that you would expect to find in a Madrid-based musician. Modern music is all about the beat, bass, and technology.
Gone are the old days of the Spanish classical guitar. Do not listen to David Revuelta if you expect sultry strings and unaccompanied solos, the likes of which you can picture playing in a dusty desert. Instead, this is upbeat, fun, and comes with a severe air attached. This is a young man who is going places. Where those places may be, remains to be seen. In the meantime, we can follow his progress on Tik Tok.
The Life of a Music Influencer
We all know that social media influencers spend a lot of their day being photographed, but when your sphere of influence contains music, you are also expected to be knowledgeable in this area. David Revuelta starts his days early to respond to all the messages, likes, follows, and comments that have appeared overnight. Once he has caught up on these, he can get to the real meat of the day – making music.
David spends around two hours or more every day planning out new tracks. This allows him to stay fresh with his lyrics and tunes while letting him practice his craft daily. David advises anyone who wants to become a success in their hobby to practice it every day. This way, you get incrementally better as time goes by. David works right on through into the evening when he stops to eat. This schedule may be hectic, but it allows him plenty of time off at night so that he can go out and sample Madrid’s lively music scene.
To be a true artist, you need to know what your competitors are doing. More from David RevueltaIf you enjoy his music, upbeat style, or Tik Tok account, you can catch up with all of his socials here.
Wizard’s Montrezl Harrell wants the GRAMMY award-winning rapper Drake to just shut up.
Especially since the certified lover boy’s continued heckling from his courtside seats may have caused Harrell to have gotten a tech in his game against the Raptors yesterday.
But is there beef?
According to both parties, nope. Slick talk comes with the territory.
During the Raptor’s season opener in Toronto, Drake started going back in forth with one of the opposing team’s players. Perhaps, the “God’s Plan” rapper wanted to interject some excitement to the 2nd quarter or frazzle Harrell (who seemed ready for the verbal jesting).
For his part in it, Number 6 wound up getting a technical foul. Not pleased with the referee’s decision, he gave him a mouth full. What was gained out of this seemingly disrespectful exchange (captured by the Bleacher Report)?
Well, nothing for the Washington D.C. team.
However, Fred VanVleet from the Canadian team was able to drop buckets during the free-throw opportunity that the tech afforded him. What was lost?
If you haven’t heard of Social Currency Enterprises, it’s time to get familiar. Founded by DaBaby’s manager Daud ‘King’ Carter, who also co-founded the Charlotte-based label South Coast Music Group, the collective is composed of rising stars ZayTheGOAT, Hotboy Shaq, Littlejohn4k,andTianis Rose— all of which hail their own unique sound, style, swag, personality, and superstar qualities.
Now, Social Currency unveils their first-ever compilation album titled Full House, which was recorded at EMPIRE Studios in the Bay Area. The 14-track collaborative project showcases the vocals and talents of each artist involved, with all-star features from Rich Homie Quan, Toosii, and Yung Bleu. Spearheaded by lead singles “Ain’t Been the Same, “Stressing,” and “Where I Come From,”Full House is chock-full of emotion, passion, dedication, and nothing short of braggadocious bars and intricate melodies.
AllHipHop: For those who don’t know, who is Social Currency?
ZayTheGOAT: Social Currency is a full house that’s full of talent with different lanes that can captivate everybody. You have Littlejohn, she’s super melodic but also can touch and gravitate to different levels of people. You have Hotboy Shaq who’s very outspoken and very versatile as well. When he does things, it comes off super cool because he’s gangsta, but it also comes off like an OG in a sense where he gets a different level of respect. Tianis Rose, she’s the foreign vibe. You feel like you’re on an island when you listen to her music. Then it’s me, you have the GOAT. That’s the guy who’s very great. He tries to stay humble, but at the same time he knows that…
Littlejohn4K: He’s being too humble man, we the hottest label in the m############ world! We’re the hottest label in the world.
AllHipHop: Why are you guys the hottest label in the world?
LittleJohn4k: We got everything you need.
Shaq: We got the whole package. If you wanna cry, if you really going through some things, if you wanna vibe out, if you wanna listen to real music, we’ve got everything you’re going through. We’ve got the total package with us. You not gon’ miss nothing with Social Currency, ever.
Littlejohn4k: That’s where the name Full House comes from, because it’s really like we’re a real full house. You got the streets, you got the culture, man you got everything. Literally, everything you can ask for in music, is right here in Social Currency.
AllHipHop: How did you guys come up with the Full House title? Were y’all watching it?
LittleJohn4k: Man, shout out EMPIRE.
ZayTheGOAT: They did that.
All: We had different ideas, but definitely shout out to EMPIRE.
Shaq: We grew into liking it.
Littlejohn4K: Yeah, it had to grow on me. I ain’t gonna lie.
AllHipHop: What does the cover art represent?
ZayTheGOAT: A full house, but it’s got all our photos on it. It shows how we all come together and make this creation. Nobody can stop us.
Littlejohn4K: The lines in the cover art are supposed to represent individuality.
AllHipHop: You guys all went to San Francisco to record at EMPIRE studios. What was that experience like?
ZayTheGOAT: It’s definitely an experience…. it’s a vibe.
Hotboy Shaq: They made sure we were good while we was there.
Littlejohn4K: I made some of my best music out there, honestly. It’s a different vibe. The studio is so amazing and beautiful, we not used to that. I might speak Spanish on the song and I don’t even know Spanish.
Hotboy Shaq: Look, I hopped on a Spanish track.
ZayTheGOAT: You feel me, no cap. In the studio down here, s### it’s a vending machine. When we go up there, they have the snacks out for you and they’re going to get refilled soon as they run out.
Littlejohn4K: Man, Zay talking about the snacks. [laughs]
ZayTheGOAT: It wasn’t nothing like them Butterfingers, those Butterfingers was turning me up.
Littlejohn4K: Nah, it wasn’t nothing like them seaweed things.
ZayTheGOAT: They got those chefs that come up there too, though. It’s a whole vibe, no cap.
Hotboy Shaq: We had Thanksgiving early in there. [laughs]
AllHipHop: What are those convos with Ghazi and Nima?
ZayTheGOAT: We really just got introduced to them. I really wanted to tell them “We’re going to take over the world.” I really want to see that for us, because it’s everybody. I don’t even feel like I’m going to take over the world, Shaq, Littlejohn, and Tianis are going to take over the world. Just as much, if not more.
Hotboy Shaq: We’re all going to take over.
Littlejohn4K: We’re really going to be one of those first labels where everybody goes at the same time. You’ve got a lot of labels where one or two people might go, but I really don’t see that with Social Currency. I really see each one of us going at the same time, literally at the same time. We’re going to be mad at each other. “Bro, I want you to come to my show in Cali!” He’s like “Man, I’m booked in Detroit.” Zay’s like “Man, I’m in the A for the weekend.” Dang, we can’t even see each other no more.
AllHipHop: You guys have such good energy together. How does it feel to come together and do a project?
Hotboy Shaq: It’s war!
All: [laughs]
ZayTheGOAT: It’s everything. We’re going to have the arguments, the fights. We’re going to have the big come togethers where we’re against others, then we’re going to have the times we really sharpen each other’s iron or steel. Help each other become better and grow from different realms, not just in music but in life, too. We all need that, that’s something that really takes us to the next level musically as well.
Hotboy Shaq: Fasho.
Littlejohn4K: Facts. Nah, we definitely throw them hands, though. They know who got the real hands. They be trying me because my hands are a little bit smaller than theirs. [laughs]
Hotboy Shaq: What Zay said, I feel the same way.
AllHipHop: What was the process behind hand-selecting what songs to include on Full House?
Hotboy Shaq: Really, we already had tracks made. We said “Let’s finish it up and make more music, see what we want to pick from.” Every track we had was A1. We didn’t miss on no track, every track was a hit. I’m not even saying that because I’m with the label or I’m an artist, I’m saying that off the feedback we had got from it. Everybody understood, they said “Y’all made hits! Every song on there is a hit.” Once we found that out, it was really easy. At first, we didn’t know how we wanted to do the tracklist because it was so hard. We didn’t know how we were going to do the tracklist, so it took us a minute. It took us almost two weeks to do the tracklist.
Littlekohn4K: Yeah, because songs kept getting added. Songs were getting dropped. We got a lot of music that didn’t make it to the album that’s crazy, like crazy. It was one of them situations where it was all so great, so good, we just didn’t know where to go with it. At first, they was nervous and scared about how we were going to feel as artists. If my song ain’t first or if this song ain’t in it, but once they seen “Look, I don’t care. I don’t care if it’s Shaq’s song: if that’s what’s gonna sell, if that’s what’s gonna get the people noticing what’s going on, then that’s what we’re going to do.” Once they realized that’s the energy we’re going to give, they put it all out. Everybody was honest about what they thought should go first, second, last. That’s how the project ended up coming out the way it did.
AllHipHop: Favorite songs on the project and why?
Littlejohn4K: “Where I Come From,” “Only Fanz”, “Ain’t Been the Same.” Them my top 3.
Hotboy Shaq: My top 3 are “Ain’t Been the Same,” “Only Fanz”, and “Bad By Myself.” Them my favorite right there.
ZayTheGOAT: My top 3 is “Ain’t Been the Same”, “Stressing,” and it’s either “Bad By Myself” or “Moving Too Fast.”
Littlejohn4k: Yeah I was about to say Zay, “Moving Too Fast.” Tianis got them songs that’ll make you call your ex from 7th grade, like “Look, you did me wrong.”
AllHipHop: Why do you guys all like “Ain’t Been The Same”?
Littlejohn4k: That’s one of them thangs.
Hotboy Shaq: If you’re really going through something in your life, you might feel like in your head it ain’t been the same in a long time for anything. When I made that, I ain’t really sung on a track. That was my first ever vibing that different type of vibe. Ever since then, I love it!
Littlejohn4K: If you know the background to the music, you have two real street dudes and they both put pain on the song. In the first lyric of the song: “Hope you be there like I’m there for you.” That’s one of them songs, it’s nothing but captions in it. It’s nothing but quotes in that song. Everybody got somebody they’re like “Man, I’m doing all this for you and you’re not even returning the love.”
AllHipHop: The last song is “We Outside.” How does it feel to be outside?
Hotboy Shaq: Yeah that song “We Outside,” they still love that song. That song two years old, but they still love it. It’s something people can relate to because they had us stuck in the house forever.
AllHipHop: How did you all meet King Carter?
Littlejohn4K: Man, I met Carter at his birthday dinner. Zay took me. Y’all gotta understand what me and Zay were at this time in our careers. Zay was so determined for Social Currency signing me that he’d be taking me to random stuff. One day, he told me “It’s my dad birthday, do you want to go to his dinner with me?” I’m thinking there’s going to be a bunch of people at the dinner or whatever. We get there, it’s Carter, his wife, and Zay. I’m like “Oh my God, this man Zay is crazy.”
[Tianis enters the Zoom]
AllHipHop: What does it mean to be part of Full House? What did you contribute to the project?
Tianis: It’s an honor to be on the album with the best artists besides myself in the world right now. There’s a whole lot of family business going on. God willing, I hope this project does everything it’s gonna do.
AllHipHop: How did you meet King Carter?
Tianis: I met him through Instagram, he reached out to me after I dropped my first album. He hit me up and said “You’re dope.” At the time, I didn’t even know who he was. When I found out, “Oh snap! This is DaBaby’s manager.” I had to reach out to him and let him know “This is what I’m trying to do. I’m passionate about my craft.” He pulled up on me at the studio and I got signed.
AllHipHop: Just like that?
Tianis: Just like that. [laughs] It took a year for me to get him to come pull up to the studio though, because he was so busy with DaBaby. This was around the time that DaBaby had started blowing up. He’s so busy with DaBaby’s stuff that every time I’d say “Hey, pull up on me,” he was so busy with everything else going on. It took us a year to finally get him to come to the studio but when he did, it happened.
AllHipHop: What about you Shaq?
Hotboy Shaq: I really was grinding for a long time. I really met him through DaBaby for real, before I even dealt with Social Currency. I was on Baby Jesus & Friends show, working the concerts he had. I was always there so I’d always run into Carter. One day, Zay really introduced me to the whole team. Carter always told me: “I’ma come get you bro, we’re gonna do this.” Because he had already seen me working, I’ve been grinding for a long time and bro understood it. He noticed that, he always was f###### with me. It’s always been genuine. When I signed to Social Currency it was all love for real, we been had it planned out.
AllHipHop: What do each of you want people to take away from this project?
Tianis: I want them to take away the fact that we have four individual, unique artists. We each have a sound that’s completely different, there’s something in there for everyone. We’re very versatile and that’s the truth. Being able to be on an album together, it’s going to bring different types of people together, as well as different types of artists.
AllHipHop: Tianis, how does it feel to be navigating pregnancy while working on the album?
Tianis: Whew, it’s not easy at all. I definitely feel it only motivated me more to go harder. Now, it’s not just my dream and because I want to do this thing. This is what I love to do but now my son’s looking up to me, too. That’s something I want my son to see when he grows up. “Damn, my mom chased her dreams. She accomplished everything she wanted to in life, I can do the same thing.” Same thing I want other people to take from it, too. Especially women in the industry, people think “Oh once you get pregnant, it’s the end of the story. It’s the end of the world.” That’s how society views it. I don’t want people to view females like that, especially in this type of career we’re in. I want people to feel empowered. “Yeah she just had a baby, but she’s still grinding. She’s still working, it ain’t stop nothing.”
AllHipHop: Littlejohn4k, talk about being a voice for the LGBTQ community.
Littlejohn4k: It’s cool. I don’t really think I’m just a voice for them, though. I’m a voice for a lot of people. I try to speak from both standpoints: female, male, cat, dog, whoever can relate to what I’m going through. As far as being a part of the LGBTQ community, it’s cool. I am who I am and I stand on who I am. I don’t ever let nobody take me out of that content or that character. As far as the music tying into it, it’s full circle. That’s a good question. I’m going to have to sit down and really think about it. Wow, I guess I am the voice right now for us.
AllHipHop: Zay, how has fatherhood shaped your perspective and your outlook on life?
ZayTheGOAT: Fatherhood has changed my perspective a lot. I don’t think about myself anymore. Every time I get some money, I be thinking about how much is going to my kids and how much I’ma keep for myself. Every time I’m eating, I think “Dang, I want that for my kids.” Or “What am I going to feed my kids today?” Every time I think about something I’m finna do, I think about my kids as well. I know I don’t think about myself anymore. It definitely helped me grow out of a lot of things that made me realize how to be a man, because now time is money. Even though it’s always been money, you value it a little bit more when you have children. The tour, I’m so ready for it right now. I pray more than I ever have before. I’ve rehearsed more than I ever have before. I’ve worked out more than I ever have before.
AllHipHop: What does it mean to be opening for Toosii on tour?
ZayTheGOAT: I appreciate Toosii for one, first and foremost. My bro, for hopping on the record and getting ready to do a video with me. And putting me on his tour, that means a lot. That’s big love. Especially since he comes from Carolina, that means a lot. I know for a full-blown fact also, with all due respect for him, I plan on making this s### my tour. That’s how hard I’m going. I plan on putting on a show every time, and not the same one. Every time I’m captivating the audience in a different way and they gon’ gravitate towards me.
AllHipHop: Shaq, what’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned as an artist coming out of Charlotte? You’ve been rapping the longest out of everyone.
Hotboy Shaq: Really, you’ve got to take this serious. You can’t play with it, be half in it or part-time in it. That’s why I love my team so much. We might argue and fight or whatever, but we push each other to go harder because we really believe in each other. It always made me realize I may have been bullshitting a lot growing up trying to do this, but now it’s all or nothing. I want to go harder every time to show people looking up to me you’ve got to put your all in no matter what it is, you’ve got to go hard.
You’ve got to eat, sleep, g###### think this s### everyday. It’s gotta be your job because if not, you’re never going to get where you want to be in life. As me growing up, me being the artist I am today, I had to keep going. It shows me because I used to be in a group and I was the weakest link in the group. I couldn’t rap at all, I didn’t know how to rap nothing. But out of the whole group, I’m the one who’s farther than everybody. That’s crazy. It made me realize if you keep going hard, you keep doing it how you been doing it, you’re going to get everything you want. It might take time. Some people think “yeah Shaq’s been doing this for years.” So what? I’ve been grinding and I’ve done seen my efforts from it. I’ve gained a lot of stuff from it, but you’ve gotta keep going.
Big Sean opened up about how he’s perceived in a series of tweets on Thursday.
After showing off his skills in an L.A. Leakers freestyle this week, Big Sean shared a message he received from Nas. The legendary rapper had high praise for Sean Don, who basked in the adulation.
“Nas just txt me saying ‘you murdered these freestyles thanks for pushing us all’ that’s crazy AF to me when I really thought about Nas txt’n me that,” Big Sean wrote. “I’m at the crib right now in Detroit n I’m just feeling grateful I actually am doing what I said I would. S### feel like a dream.”
But Big Sean still had critics on his mind. The Def Jam artist expressed frustration over people doubting his abilities and proclaimed he can out rap any MC.
“I take pride in being versatile but I can also see how’s its helped and hurt me in my career,” he wrote. “Cause some people hear a song n think I’m just that, or a certain type of artist when I actually have many sides. I can Out rap anyone, but sometimes I just wanna jus vibe or have fun.”
He continued, “I do get tired of being judged n take personal offense when someone thinks I can’t rap. I literally have proven myself over and over and over, but maybe I should just stop caring so much what people think and stop taking things personal and just get back to having fun…”

I do get tired of being judged n take personal offense when someone thinks I can’t rap 😂. I literally have proven myself over and over and over, but maybe I should just stop caring so much what people think and stop taking things personal and just get back to having fun…
While venting on social media, Big Sean also got nostalgic about the G.O.O.D. Music roster. He wished the team was still tight-knit like they used to be.
“I also really miss the brotherhood I use to have with GOOD music,” he tweeted. “I don’t know what happened. Guess those the GOOD ol days. It’s all love, but we use to really be clique’d up.”
Big Sean wrapped up his string of Twitter posts on a positive note though.
“So I’m a just get back to having fun, cause trying to please everybody ain’t it!” he opined. “If you rock wit me, you rock wit me n if you don’t then… you just don’t have good taste.”

An absentminded Lil Baby missed out on contributing to Young Thug’s Punk album.
In a TikTok video, Lil Baby revealed he recorded a verse for the song “Bubbly.” Unfortunately, he forgot to send it to Thugger in time for Punk’s October 15 release date.
“When young thug send you a song for his album [and] you forget to send it back,” he captioned the TikTok video, which featured a snippet of his verse.
Even without Lil Baby, Young Thug had plenty of firepower on his “Bubbly” track. The album cut featured two chart-toppers in Drake and Travis Scott.
Fans will likely hear many more Young Thug and Lil Baby collaborations in the future as the two men’s bond runs deeper than rap. In fact, Thugger played an instrumental role in getting his fellow ATLien out of the streets.
During a recent appearance on The Breakfast Club, Young Thug recalled how he used to pay Lil Baby thousands of dollars to pursue a rap career. Thugger was willing to part with some money if it meant the future star would stay out of legal trouble.
“I just didn’t want him to go back to prison,” he told The Breakfast Club. “I was scared for him to go back to jail because he had just did a bid. He got straight out of jail and went straight back to the same neighborhood, the same house that the police busted and locked him up.”
Listen to more of what Thugger had to say about Lil Baby below.
Wiz Khalifa has leveled up his partnership with the Professional Fighters League.
After investing in the mixed martial arts organization earlier this year, Wiz Khalifa has dropped an exclusive song and capsule collection for the PFL. The Taylor Gang rapper and his longtime producer Sledgren created a single titled “Million Dollar Moment” for the upcoming 2021 PFL World Championship.
“I had a great time making this song with Sledgren because it allowed me to create something that will be a big part of the PFL with my MMA family,” Wiz Khalifa said in a press release. “I can’t wait to perform it at the Championship next week.”
Wiz Khalifa will perform “Million Dollar Moment” at the 2021 PFL World Championship, where fighters in six weight classes will compete to win $1 million. The fight card, which will air live on ESPN2, is scheduled to take place at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida on October 27.

Fans can purchase items from the Taylor Gang capsule at PFL’s online store. Tickets for the MMA event are still available here.
I don’t know how this got past me, because the internet is going AWF. So, Hassan did what he does and he got on YouTube and lamblashed FBG Duck’s mom. He called her everything! A bad mom. A failure. A waste of flesh! There are so many thing she said. Well, part of the reason why he went in so hard was because she made fun of him allegedly getting molested by Afrika Bambaataa. Here are the videos.
And Mama Duck did what Mama Duck does. She is 47 years old, but I would imagine she is much older in her life experiences. Also, losing five kids is a hurt piece for her, but Mr. Campbell said you gonna listen to this speech. And he made his points.
Wack 100 has never been the type I would consider a thoughtful peacemaker, but that is exactly what happened. He got on the phone via Clubhouse and mediated PEACE between Hassan Campbell and Momma Duck. How did this happen?
Here is part 2.
By the way, the FBI relies heavily on US to solve murders and arrest people involved in high-profile murders like Duck’s!
What I did not realize is this is NOT new.
I am assuming Hassan Campbell isn’t going to Chi Town no time soon.

Hennessy Carolina, the sister of one Cardi B, is single again, ladies. If that’s your style, now’s the time to shoot your shot!
The MAGA-fighting, hard-scrabbling little sister of the “Bodak Yellow” rapper took to her Instagram page to make the announcement with two simple words: “I’m single.”
Check out her post below.

Earlier this year, Hennessy Carolina and her longtime girlfriend, Michelle Diaz, celebrated their four-year anniversary. According to 21Ninety, Hennessy first spotted Michelle on Instagram’s explore page. Hennessy Carolina says was immediately drawn to Michelle’s sense of style, and of course her facial features. The two took it to the DMs and on Christmas Eve of 2016, the pair finally met in person. They made things official on January 22, 2017, and of course, the rest is history.
The feisty sister of Cardi B didn’t give any details as to why she’s single now. But it’s safe to say she’s going to need some time to herself before she jumps into another relationship.
For what it’s worth, the last time Diaz posted a photo of her and her now-ex-boo together was on Oct. 8. And in the photo, Hennessy was a dead ringer for Cardi B. Check out the post below.

According to Variety, the Harlem native has inked a management deal with Jay-Z’s company. Roc Nation’s representation of A$AP Ferg will not affect his label situation as he remains signed to A$AP Worldwide, Polo Grounds Music and RCA Records.
“It has always been a dream to work with Jay-Z,” Ferg said in a statement. “For decades I have looked up to the moves he’s made with his diverse range of business ventures but especially with companies like Roc-A-Fella and Roc Nation. His ability to build brands and create teams alongside leaders like Jay Brown is unmatched, and it feels good to be officially a part of the family.”
News of the Roc Nation signing also came with a note about A$AP Ferg’s stage name. The multi-platinum selling rapper will simply be known as Ferg in his solo endeavors.
“Ferg is very much still part of the Mob and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob,” Roc Nation said. “Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg.”
With the backing of Roc Nation, A$AP Ferg is ready to drop a major collaboration. The A$AP Mob member intends to release a new single with The Neptunes on October 29.
The song will be Ferg’s first solo single of 2021. The title of the Pharrell and Chad Hugo-produced track hasn’t been revealed as of October 21.

While YS has cemented himself as one of the West Coast’s most promising acts, he recruits Louisville, KY’s hottest new artist EST GEE for his latest single “Play 4 Keeps.” As YS frequently does, he sings his own hook in his unique style while EST GEE gives him a memorable verse where he states, “everybody got Cali plug’s, but I’m who did it first, went out west and put it work, now it’s 20 thousand when I smirk”.
In this Benmarc directed visual, YS brings EST GEE to the infamous Campanella Park apartment buildings in Compton, CA to give him a tour of his section.
YS and Helluva have yet to miss, releasing incredible singles as they gear up to release YS new project Realer Than Real produced entirely by Helluva which will be released in the coming weeks.
Check out YS on IG and tune in for more from this rising West coast star!
Darius Williams, that’s who. The Cliffs notes version of the saga surrounding the man known as #DariusCrooks in independent cooking circles is as follows: Williams is a scammer who is currently (according to The Daily Beast) looking down the barrel of several lawsuits, mostly tied to illegal credit repair, failure to treat his employees properly, and violating the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act.
And for making food that looks like this — which isn’t a crime, but should be.
Y’all, he done DEEP FRIED the crab legs with THE DAMN SHELLS STILL ON. If THIS isn’t enough to keep you from wasting $215 on that potluck, I don’t know what is. #dariuscrookspic.twitter.com/T2uk77Fa91
Despite making food that looks like puke and bad decisions, and would be considered an act of war under the Geneva convention, Williams frequently targets other Black women chefs — including Angela “The Kitchenista” Davis, Sunny Anderson, and now Tabitha Brown — by throwing shade, claiming that they’re “haters,” and basically acting like a jealous little child whenever one or more of these women gets some much-deserved shine.
This brings us to this latest bit of Tabitha Brown news. According to Essence, Brown has opened up her own vegan soul food restaurant called Kale My Name. The restaurant is actually a franchise from the existing restaurant in Chicago, IL. “After becoming a huge fan of the delicious dishes, she teamed up with Kale My Name’s owner, Nemanja Nekac Golubović, and they’re expanding the restaurant by bringing it to her hometown of Los Angeles. They’ve found a location in Encino and are getting the ball rolling on scheduling an opening day,” writes Essence.
Can we take a minute to appreciate the joy on Tabitha Brown’s Instagram? Okay. Good.
Now, let’s remember that Darius Williams admitted to unfollowing Tabitha Brown because he was “low-key” (try high-key, Darius) jealous of her success. With this bit of news, you know he’s probably somewhere screaming into a pillow as Anita Baker’s “Sweet Love” plays in the background. You’d better go find Marcel, Darius, and figure out how to make it right with him — because things ain’t looking too good for you right now, sir.
#dariuscrooks Why are you throwing shade at @IamTabithaBrown once again? I see why @KevOnStage denounced you. Stop being so jealous and get your lawsuits, tax liens, and bills paid. Whoever this woman is got to be slow to seek advice from you. pic.twitter.com/irpsFFwggK
Donald Trump is like that uncle who tries every type of hustle — from fish-fry plates to backyard mechanics — and can barely clear $500 a week no matter what he does. You want to root for him — that “give it all you’ve got” attitude is, really, an all-American trait — but the problem is, you know it’s all an act.
You know it’s all an act because in reality, he’s a spoiled rich boy who never had to work a day in his life — who blew through millions of dollars of his father’s money — who was solely tasked with not being a f*ckup and couldn’t succeed at doing that, either. At the end of the day, Donald Trump could only do one thing right: be a game show host. (Let’s be real: The Apprentice was a good show.) Everything else — from the “modeling agency” that was a front for Jeffrey Epstein’s perversions, to the presidency, to Trump Steaks & Trump University — has been one dub after another.
That’s what makes this man’s latest announcement about his new social media platform — called TRUTH Social — so hilarious and pathetic. You know this is going to fall flat, just like all his other sh*t he’s ever done. You just wonder when the hell Donald Trump is finally going to S### about losing the 2020 presidential election and just accept his defeat like a big boy. At this point, not accepting his defeat makes him sound like an even bigger b*tch than he really is. (And he’s a big one. Really, he is.)
Anyway, take a look at the announcement about his new TRUTH Social Media Network, and try not to laugh at the petulance. (Or continue to act like he’s the aggrieved party in all this. I really don’t care.) Really — there’s not much more to say about this mess than the two tweets below. It’s not worth much more.
Former President Trump will be launching a new social network named "TRUTH Social."
It will be a part of a new publicly-traded company named "Trump Media and Technology Group." pic.twitter.com/Tso6HMGGPS
A nationwide rollout is expected in the first quarter of 2022. Those who are interested in joining TRUTH Social may now visit https://t.co/olu9xLX45b to sign up for the invite list.
You can count on Masika Kalysha to do two things: be messy, and stay in the headlines for being messy.
Fetty Wap’s baby mama decided to throw herself into some more mess on Instagram today when she posted what was, allegedly, a picture of her daughter at school.
There’s just one problem: she had to make sure that Saint West — Kim Kardashian’s child with Kanye West — was in the picture as well. And while she stopped short of tagging Kim in the post (probably because Masika Kalysha knows better, and she knows that Kim will make her take down the pic), she made sure that everyone knew her child was front-and-center with the Kardashian-West offspring.
Fans of Love & Hip Hop will recall that Masika Kalysha was so difficult on the set — including constantly storming off and threatening legal action — that she actually nearly got fired. (Word on the Internet streets is, she was told to either leave or get fired.)
Then, in September 2020, the clout-chasing baby mama faked her own kidnapping to get more people to subscribe to her OnlyFans. When TMZ broke the story, she got fired from the TV show she was working on, and got publicly rebuked by the sex crimes organization she claimed to be working with.
I don’t know about you…but all this sounds like she needs mental help to me.
Obasi Jackson is doing the best he can. As he walks into WonWorld Studios, he’s handling the business of Pop Smoke, his late brother. The estate presses on and Obasi Jackson continues to move forward as well. As painful as that may be, he has no choice. However, the Brooklyn native’s prescence in the Manhattan studio represents another step forward to his destiny.
His new album, Memories, is like white water rafting over a sea of emotions. The opus continues to gain attention as a body of work that delves deep into Obasi’s mind and mental state presently. Refreshing and, at times, distressing, Memories is a stark reminder that Pop Smoke’s older brother was an artist before the tragic murder of his sibling. The manevers effortlessly through a plethora of genres, motifs and styles. And yet, the questions linger.
Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur and Obasi Jackson talk about everything from mental health, to death to managing life. Tap in.
Joell Ortiz, ¼ of the rap supergroup Slaughterhouse, is returning with a new body of work. His next solo effort, Autograph, is being described as the New Yorker’s most personal album to date.
Autograph will arrive on November 12. Sheek Louch, CyHi The Prynce, KXNG Crooked, Salaam Remi, Apollo Brown, The Heatmakerz, and Namir Blade contributed to the project.
“My creative process is pretty simple. I write to the music that moves me and speak my truth. That’s never wavered. Once I feel like I got all of my thoughts out, I put the pen down and listen to everything in its entirety,” explains Joell Ortiz. “That’s usually where I figure out things like title and artwork.”
He continues, “After listening to this body of work, I realized that I shared a lot of personal feelings, stories, and ideas. Everything is authentic. This is signature me. Hence, the title. Autograph is an album from me to you. The old me, the current me, all of me. As usual, I hope you enjoy.”
The Autograph era begins with an official first single titled “OG.” The LP’s tracklist contains other cuts such as “Housing Authority” featuring fellow Slaughterhouse alum KXNG Crooked and “Love Is Love” featuring The Lox emcee Sheek Louch.
“I feel so lucky to be able to call myself an ‘OG.’ Where I come from adulthood isn’t always a guarantee. But here I am, alive, and well and still doing what I love to do. Music. As life changes, so does my story. Just happy to still be able to share it with you all the best way I know how. Over these beats! Yaowa,” says Joell Ortiz.
Previously, Joell Ortiz dropped the solo albums 2007’s The Brick: Bodega Chronicles, 2011’s Free Agent, 2014’s House Slippers, 2016’s That’s Hip Hop, and 2019’s Monday. The 41-year-old spitter also created full-length projects with Slaughterhouse, Illmind, Apollo Brown, Fred the Godson & The Heatmakerz, and KXNG Crooked.
Now, Boosie Badazz also has to address reports that “You’re Mines Still” hitmaker Yung Bleu parted ways with Bad Azz Music Syndicate. Yung Bleu spoke about his personal and business relationships with Boosie during an interview with The Breakfast Club.
Boosie Badazz apparently gave Yung Bleu the opportunity to sign with another company. However, the Alabama representative seemingly still decided to honor his agreement with Boosie even if he is no longer officially under the Bad Azz umbrella.
Yung Bleu said, “We’re still in business together. Me and Him – we’re really boys. We’re really like family so it’s more than the contract. Whatever I said I’m gonna do, I’m gonna still do.”
Boosie was asked about the situation while speaking with VladTV. At first, the 38-year-old rapper/entrepreneur did not want to talk about Yung Bleu’s association with Bad Azz Music Syndicate before sharing some of his thoughts on the matter.
“That ain’t accurate. I don’t really wanna get into details on it, but we gonna make it work,” stated Boosie Badazz. “I don’t blame Bleu for this s###. I feel like some other people who are bigger than Bleu made mistakes. It ain’t no big deal. We gotta sit down and I gotta get compensated.”
Yung Bleu released his Moon Boy album in July via Vandross Music Group/EMPIRE. 2020’s Bleu Vandross 3 and Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions both came out on EMPIRE as well.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the sex trafficking conviction in New York led to U.S. Bureau of Prisons officials placing R. Kelly on suicide watch. Kelly’s attorney, Steve Greenberg, confirmed the monitoring process has since been lifted.
In addition, Steve Greenberg insisted he had no knowledge of R. Kelly threatening to harm himself while being incarcerated. The decision to oversee Kelly for potential fatal self-injuries could have been a routine act by the prison.
Prosecutors named R. Kelly the head of a criminal organization. A Brooklyn jury found him guilty of racketeering predicated on criminal conduct including sexual exploitation of children, forced labor, and Mann Act violations involving the coercion and transportation of women and girls in interstate commerce to engage in illegal sexual activity.
“A predator who used his inner circle to ensnare underage teenage girls, and young women and men, for decades, in a sordid web of sex abuse, exploitation, and degradation. To the victims in this case, your voices were heard, and justice was finally served,” stated Jacquelyn M. Kasulis, Acting United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.
R. Kelly Still Has To Stand Trial For Child Pornography
In 2019, law enforcement arrested R. Kelly on federal child pornography and obstruction charges. That Illinois-based federal indictment accused Kelly of engaging in sex acts with five minors and recording some of the abuse.
“This indictment demonstrates our office’s commitment to holding individuals such as Kelly accountable for criminal sexual abuse of minors, protecting the victims of such crimes, and punishing those who obstruct law enforcement investigations,” said John R. Lausch, Jr., United States Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois.
Producing child pornography carries a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison and a maximum sentence of 20 years. Conspiracy to obstruct justice is punishable by up to five years in prison.
R. Kelly pled not guilty in the federal child pornography/obstruction of justice case. The self-described “Pied Piper of R&B” was acquitted in a 2008 state child pornography trial in Illinois after the alleged victim declined to testify for the prosecution.
The racketeering and sex trafficking guilty verdicts in New York come with a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to life imprisonment. R. Kelly is scheduled to be sentenced in May 2022. His legal team is expected to appeal the convictions.
The 22-year-old rapper had another reason to celebrate on Wednesday. Grammy-winning producer Dallas Austin and the Gilead COMPASS Initiative hosted a private event in Atlanta for Lil Nas X.
“Through the Gilead COMPASS Initiative, we provide funding to support local community organizations working to end the HIV epidemic in the Southern United States,” says Dr. Shanell L. McGoy, Director, Public Affairs of Gilead Sciences, Inc. “Collaboration with partners to raise awareness about HIV and dismantle stigma is an essential part of the initiative. Lil Nas X is a fierce advocate and we are grateful that he continues to use his platform to raise awareness and change the public perception of HIV.”

McGoy adds, “Empowering new leaders to reach members of their communities was one of the main reasons we started the Gilead COMPASS Initiative® three years ago. Thrive SS and other partners throughout the U.S. South are making real progress dismantling HIV stigma in their communities.”
In addition, Mardrequs Harris of The Southern AIDS Coalition organized a choir performance of songs from Lil Nas X’s Montero album at the party. The entire choir was made up of LGBTQ community members, allies, and faith leaders. Each choir singer wore purple in honor of GLAAD’s #SpiritDay on October 21.

“I would want to make sure they know that Lil Nas X is a part of the movement in the Atlanta music scene,” says Dallas Austin. “The scene is ever-growing and progressing with a community of creative people that push the envelope and that’s what we’re doing.”
Atlanta Councilman Antonio Brown was at The Gathering Spot event to proclaim October 20 as “Lil Nas X Day” in the city. LNX also stopped by Ponce De Leon Center to meet with youth and families affected by HIV and to learn about the advancements being made to treat and cure the virus.
Lil Nas X will appear at the State Farm Arena for the opening night game for the Atlanta Hawks on October 21. The former Lithia Springs High School student is taking over billboards across Atlanta as well.
